27. Great Academic Advisors Change Lives..
“I had been let go from my teaching position
due to funding right before the new school year
was to begin. I was devastated. I decided to
work on my Master's degree. I graduated from
National Louis University so I decided to go
back to NLU. I tried to get into several programs
without success. Every program was filled and I
nobody seemed to care about my situation even
though I was an alumni, except for Robyn. She
worked all weekend trying to find a program for
me. She called professors and pleaded my case.
Before the next weekend she had me lined up
and in classes! I was amazed at how hard she
worked to help me. She even gave me leads on
job opportunities. I obtained my certification in
ELL. Because of her devotion to helping me, I
am now employed in a fabulous school district. I
would not have secured the position if I didn't
have my ELL certification! The district would
not have hired me without it. I have the teaching
job I always dreamed of. I am helping students
who are at risk and I really owe it all to Robyn.”
