In the paper titled An exact dissipation model for arbitrary photonic Fock state
transport in waveguide QED systems , Chen et al. have presented a dissipation
model to study the Fock and coherent state transport through waveguide QED
(wQED) systems. As the main novelty of their work, they have modelled the
environment as a 3D scattering channel (described in a real space picture similar to
the waveguide modelling) and it has been shown that a reduced Hamiltonian can be
obtained for arbitrary photon number Fock state which can describe the photonic
transport with a restricted eigenstate. To illustrate, one , two , N photon and coherent
state examples are presented. Finally, two simple geometries of the scattering channel
are considered namely the uniform medium and a slab waveguide. Authors have also
very briefly pointed out the applicability of their model in cavity QED.
COMMENTS AND DECISION
Overall the paper has interesting findings and is systematically presented. In
particular, the modelling of the environment as a non excitable 3D scattering channel,
is the key attraction in this work. Moreover, the authors have made claims which
seems not to be exaggerated. However, there are some points in this work which can
be ambiguous to the interested reader. Therefore, I can recommend publication of this
paper in the Optics Letters, provided the authors performs the following revisions:

Humans are idealists. We are day dreamers, curious minds and wanters of what
could be. At the same time though, we must be practical, smart and real or else
Life might advantage of you. In writing we often see the battle of ideal vs real,
especially when it comes to works centering on the topic of love. Poems like The
Passionate Shepherd to His Love(Marlowe, 1599) and The Nymphs Reply to the
Shepherd (Raleigh, 1599) are prime examples of the contrasting views, while prose
like Eveline (Joyce, 1914) represents both sides throughout the story.
Melodious birds, a bed a roses, a gown made of the finest wool who could turn
down such an offer? If the speaker is to give his Love all that he can, then that
must, surely, be love. That is what the Marlowe tries to convey in The Passionate
Shepherd to His Love. The speaker paints an ideal picture of how their love will be
and how if what he says appeals to his interest then they must come and be with him.
This thought is explicitly represented in the final couplet of the poem, it says, If these

persuasive. He wants the interest to consider the best of what it could be. We then

off, it was much more clear. While the book might have been more informational it
is not very clear, and I was stuck re analyzing various paragraphs many times.
Subsequent to the previous reason, the movie also had more of an influential impact

Recently, the concept of the Internet as a set of connected computer devices is
changed to a set of connected surrounding things of human s living space, such as
home appliances, machines, transportation, business storage, and goods etc. The
number of things in the living space is larger than the number of world population.
Research is going on how to make these things to communicate with each other like
computer devices communicate through Internet. The communication among these
things is referred as Internet of Things (IoT). Till now, there is no specific definition
or standard architecture of IoT. Some researchers define the IoT as a new model that
contains all of wireless communication technologies such as wireless sensor networks,
mobile networks, and actuators. Each element of IoT is called a thing and should

Negative Effects On Animals In Their Environment
Both countries have experienced polluted waters which have had negative effects
on animals in their environment. For example, in 2007, multiple sea otters were
found dead in the Pacific Ocean and a marine wildlife veterinarian, Melissa Miller,
determined that these otters were poisoned by a toxin called microcystin, which is
produced by blue green algae. When fertilizers and human sewage run into rivers
and lakes, these toxins start to appear because nutrients are added that cause the
growth of algae known as super blooms . However, sea otters don t go to the areas
these blooms occur in like polluted rivers and lakes. Miller then did some research
and found that super blooms occurred frequently in a lake, Pinto Lake, that
eventually drains into the area of the Pacific Ocean where the dead otters were
found. The toxins were also found to be in shellfish which in a part of the otters
main diet, so after this Miller concluded that the toxin travelled downstream in the
ocean from polluted lakes, where they found their way into shellfish, and
eventually ended up killing the otters. A similar event occurred in South Africa
around the same time frame, but this involved crocodiles. Toward the end of 2008,
rangers in the Kruger National Park (KNP) reported that around 170 crocodiles
were found dead in the Olifants river with a similar estimate a year later in 2009.
Veterinarians who performed the autopsies for these crocodiles determined the
cause of death to be pansteatitis which is a disease based on nutrients that paralyzes
animals leaving them to drown or starve to death, but it rarely affects animals in the
wild. After some of the veterinarians did more research and analyzed the crocodiles
fat tissue, they discovered that phytoplankton was the source of the high intake of
fats in these crocodiles. However, the crocodiles don t feed on it directly; so they did
more research and found that downstream of the Olifants was Lake Massingir which
is known for plankton blooms because of eutrophication. In the end, the veterinarians
came to the conclusion that the silver carp, a fish that was purposely introduced into
Lake Massingir, accidently escaped and found their way to where these crocodiles

Based on the previous Carl Sagan s novel about an adolescent scientist s
determinations to make Contact with life itself beyond just our universe. The most
famous quote that Sagan tells the story of this movie is that there is billions and
billions of stars up there . The fascinating science fiction film/thriller of that century,
Contact, combines many concepts that do not usually go together or are thought
about in relation to each other. That being the concept of faith, politics, and most
importantly science. This movie was released on July 11th, 1997 by producers
Robert Zemeciks and Steve Starkey. Dr.Ellie Arroway played by Jodie Foster rushes
to translate a message that they think could be coming from the Vegastar system.
When contact at first happens, Dr.Ellie Arroway communicates with the
constricting National Security Advisor Kitz who is played by James Woods. After
this unravels, they go in to see the possible problems with occurrence of this event.
An out breaking message is discovered in the signal, but the question is will
Arroway be the only one to be able to solve it or will there be more involved to help

Tacitus in his writing characterizes the Germanics as a stable, civilized community
as well as a barbaric tribe, compared to Marcellinus who viewed them as savages
when Priscus had a first hand account of the Germanics and thought of them as very

Reading G. William Domhoff s Who Rules America?: The Triumph of the
Corporate Rich was an intriguing and challenging experience for me. My limited
knowledge base of the American political class system mostly stems from high
school US History classes and listening to my mom s stories of her experiences in
the corporate world. Therefore, I am aware that due to my prior lack of knowledge
on the topics presented in Domhoff s book, I may have misjudged some of his finer
points. Part of my struggles may be largely due to the fact that Domhoff s intended
audience for Who Rules America? is other experts in the field of understanding the
sociology of the corporate eliteand their resources of power. However, I believe that
the book has given me a better, if not complete, understanding of the corporate elite
and how they stay in power.
I found the book to be extremely well researched. When Domhoff presents a point,
he uses several sources and logical reasons to back up his theory. For example, when
relating the dominance of the political elite on the government, Domhoff examines
the amount of influence the corporate rich have in our judicial system by
investigating the nine Supreme Court judges during the Obama administration. He
discovered that all of them graduated from one of three elite institutions: Harvard,
Yale, or Columbia (Domhoff, 178, 2014). Domhoff treats most of his assertions in a

Essay The Grapes of Wrath, by John Steinbeck, is set in post Dust Bowl tragedy, or
the Dirty Thirties , when families were forced to move West in search of jobs when
their land was taken from them by the banks and their tractors. Throughout the book,
Steinbeck uses a set of intercalary chapters that are woven in between chapters
expressing subtle themes, while still having connections to the main story following
the Joad family (and company). Symbols, themes, and motifs connect both the
intercalary and the narrative chapters together from the beginning to the end of the

among immigrants and different groups in host society and using the rate of

suggests that among interracially married couples with different educational

These soccer gangs are called firms, and each team has one, and the most notorious
ones are located in England. There was a movie that came out about ten or so years

and environmental sustainabilityis key to extending the social, cultural and
economic lives of things (Bulkeley, H et al 2009). Downs (1972) states that
environmental problems have a life cycle where there is an increase in people
becoming motivated to make a change, but as time goes on they lose interest and
abandon all effort (Eden, S 2005). In this essay we will look at how the human
population needs to take responsible actions to help humanity and the environment.
The John McIntyre Conference Center is an example used to show how food waste
management is implemented on a local scale. It shows how much food waste
