Special Needs Assistant Essay
Special needs assistants (SNAs) are to work with children who have specific care needs. They
provide non teaching care support. SNAs support children who have care needs resulting from a
disability, behavioural difficulties or a medical issue. This includes significant physical or
sensory function impairment . Children with dyslexia do not apply for SNA teachers because
their disability does not need physical care .They can look after themselves. How to improve the
service Many people with dyslexia are only getting support and the psychological assessment
they need if their difficulty is bad enough. There are still too many barriers in dealing with
dyslexia in Ireland, according to Dr. Pauline Cogan educational psychologist and dyslexia
researcher. There needs to be more proactive support; instead of officials acting as gatekeepers
[deciding who may and may not receive support and assistance], we should be there spotting the
children who need help, and putting that help in place. Without that help, they re denied
information and access to the curriculum. ( Peter McGuire 2015). The service should be
improved by being more open and less strict and letting all children get the help no matter how
bad their case is . All children that do have dyslexia need help no matter how bad or good it is. The
way that services are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Ten Care Tips
Ten Care Tips for Your T Shirt Creations
You invested your time, your sweat, and your tears into creating the perfect t shirt creation. It
doesn t matter if it s a tie dye creation or a silkscreened masterpiece, you want it to last. Sadly, t
shirts are susceptible to fading, shrinking, cracking, graphic loss, etc. When you wear your shirts,
the sun, the sweat, and other elements speed the deterioration of your tee. Further, the way you
wash, dry and store your shirt plays a huge part in the life of your prized possession.
Thankfully, there are some things you can do to preserve your tee and lengthen its lifespan.
Consider these ten care tips:
1. The safest way to wash your shirt is by hand in cold water. This isn t always a practical ... Show

T shirts that are not worn often should not be hung on a hanger. They should be folded and
stored in a box or container. Plastic sleeves are another way to keep your shirts looking their best.
At very least, they should be folded and kept on your shelf or in a dresser drawer.
9. Make a T shirt Folder. An ally in the fight to protect your shirts is the proper fold. You don t
want to run creases through your artwork. A shirt folder is a great way to quickly fold your
shirts in a proper manner. A folder can be purchased or made for a matter of cents from common
household materials (six pieces of 9x12 cardboard and a roll of duct tape). While cereal boxes are a
little thin, they are the right size.
Place the rectangles three wide by two deep about a quarter inch apart. Connect the panels with the
duct tape on the front and the back. The quarter inch of duct tape between the panels will act like
hinges, so make sure they are pressed together well. The folder is now complete.
Lay your shirt face down on the folder vertically with the neck to the top. Fold the right two panels
to the center. Leave the shirt, but pull the panels back. Repeat this move on the left. Fold the panel
in the center bottom up toward the top. You now have a perfectly folded

Snow Crash Analysis
Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson takes place in a not so distant future, but the technology is much
more advanced than modern technology. Virtual reality has taken the world by storm in what s
called the Metaverse, a place where computer users, which is only about 10% of the world at this
point, can be anything they want. Users of the Metaverse can pick an avatar to be and then walk all
around the Metaverse, interacting with other users that are standing in a room halfway across the
world. Stephenson s descriptions of this innovative world are built upon science that is extremely
advanced but still credible. Stephenson illustrates realistic, common technological structures that
are still more futuristic than modern technologyto draw the reader into the Metaverse and world of
Snow Crash.
In the Metaverse, Stephenson explains authentic, yet futuristic, technology to the reader to
bring the reader into the book. Neal Stephenson first introduces us to The Deliverator , who we
later find out is in the Metaverse, as a Mafia worker who has to deliver pizzas in less than half an
hour or lose everything he has. When describing the process of the Deliverator and the advanced
pizza boxes he uses, called smart boxes , the narrator says, The pizza box is a plastic carapace
now, corrugated for stiffness, a little LED readout glowing on the side, telling the Deliverator how
many trade imbalance producing minutes have ticked away since the fateful phone call
(Stephenson 6). This is the

Autoethnographic Writing
Main Post #2
According to Hughes, Pennington, Makris (2012), a criterion for conducting fair and robust
evaluations of autoethnographic writing is its adherence to a logic of inquiry that allows the reader
to trace the path charted, beginning with the initial statement of the problem issue to its
conclusions and applications of data. Conducting impartial research requires ensuring that a
comprehensible illustration of procedures employed is presented for evaluation. It also requires a
blueprint for research design and development, analytic and construal of data collected, deductions,
and inferences that substantiate or refute theories.
Another criterion for conducting fair and robust evaluations of autoethnographic writing requires
transparency of the report submission. Hughes, Pennington, and Makris (2012) assert that
researchers must be clear in the rationale driving the investigation as well as the actions taken
beginning with the initial concern or interest. According to Adams et al. (2013), the researcher must
present clear and coherent explanations regarding methods and systems employed throughout the
research process. Transparency ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As an autoethnographic writer, substantive contribution to an understanding of social life
contributes to a fair and objective evaluative process. Its narratives should induce rational and
intellectual thought that provokes additional inquiry and review in its readers. According to
Jensen Hart Williams (2017), engaging in reflexivity allows for a greater sense of awareness of
how each of us is similar, yet distinctly different. By continuing to critically analyze the self in
social and cultural contexts we develop the habit of reflexivity through critical reflection while
strengthening professional skills and

To The Lighthouse By Virginia Woolf
The study is designed to understand the different social issues related to different characters in the
novel To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf. It focuses on the Victorian and Modern marriages and
highlights how the female characters are different from one another. Similarly, there are a lot of
religious doubt, degrading women, and an unclear vision in the novelby one of the characters.
However, there are deaths in the novel too. Similarly, it will focus on the two central women in the
story. Study wants to show that Virginia Woolf
created two very different characters but with a very
interesting and complex connection. The first one is Mrs. Ramsay, a woman still belonging to the
Victorian age, the second, Lily Briscoe, here called a New woman . My intention is also to analyze
the significance of Lily s painting and how it symbolizes and represents her coming to terms with
her homosexuality, and simultaneously her feelings towards Mrs. Ramsay.

Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery
Rule induction is one of the major forms of data mining and is perhaps the most common form
of knowledge discovery in unsupervised learning systems. It is also perhaps the form of data
mining that most closely resembles the process that most people think about when they think
about data mining, namely mining for gold through a vast database. The gold in this case would
be a rule that is interesting that tells you something about your database that you didn t already
know and probably weren t able to explicitly articulate (aside from saying show me things that are
interesting ). The bane of rule induction systems is also its strength that it retrieves all possible
interesting patterns in the database. This is strength in the sense that it leaves no stone unturned
but it can also be viewed as a weakness because the user can easily become overwhelmed with
such a large number of rules that it is difficult to look through all of them. You almost need a
second pass of data miningto go through the list of interesting rules that have been generated by the
rule induction system in the first place in order to find the most valuable gold nugget amongst them
all. This overabundance of patterns can also be problematic for the simple task of prediction
because all possible patterns are culled from the database there may be conflicting predictions made
by equally interesting rules. Automating the process of culling the most interesting rules and of
combing the recommendations

Summary Of Ender s Game
Ender s Game is a scientific fiction novel, set in the future. Aliens, also knows as buggers, have

Chinese Immigrants in America Essay
After the first wave of Chinese immigrants arrived in the United States in the early 1840s during
the California Gold Rush, many Chinese people continued to travel across the Pacific, escaping
poor conditions in China with hopes and ambitions for a better life in America. Many more
Chinese immigrants began arriving into the 1860s on the Pacific coast for work in other areas
such as the railroad industry. The immigrants noticed an increasing demand for their labor because
of their readiness to work for low wages. Many of those who arrived did not plan to stay long, and
therefore there was no push for their naturalization. The immigrants left a country with thousands of
years of a decaying feudal system, corruption, a growing... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The growth of Chinese jobs in the California labor market did not stop there. Because of the hard
times, employers found it especially attractive that the Chinese workers would work for long
hours with low pay. Huge losses hit California in 1876 with a drought; this led to unemployment
across the coast including for the Chinese. Many white investors, however, used the Chinese as
scapegoats for this statewide depression, fueling the anti Chinese fire and leading to more
hostility towards Chinese workers. The firsthand account of Lee Chew, a Chinese immigrant to
America in the early 1880s, shows the disparities between the white man s perception of Chinese
laborers and reality as well as the hostility that arose as a result. When Lee first arrived in
America, he started working as a housekeeper for a family in California, being paid $3.50 a week
and being able to keep 50 cents afterwards. For Lee and other Chinese immigrants, they believed
the hostility arose from jealousy in the labor market, because he [Chinese worker] is a more
faithful worker than one of their people, [and they] have raised such a great outcry about Chinese
cheap labor that they have shut him [Chinese worker] out of working on farms or in factories or
building railroads or making streets or digging sewers. Lee s testimony shows the common ripple
effects of the working restrictions white men imposed on the Chinese immigrants looking for jobs.
This resulted in Chinese

Analysis Of The Outsiders
Do you know Dallas Winston is? Well let me tell you he is not nice. Dallas is a clod, mean, and
tough person from the gang in The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. Later on in the book a member of
the gang, Johnny dies from saving kids from a burning church. Also because of his bad record
and personality. This fills Dally with hate and rage. For this reason Dally goes to a store to a store
and robes it. Meeting his gangin the lot the police pull up with guns. Dally also has a gunwithout
ammunition to scare people, but when he pulls it out the cops shoot without hesitation. Why did
Dally bluff the cops? Well there is three reasons. His bad record, his personality, and lastly the death
of Johnny. To begin with Dally pulled the gun out so the cops would shoot him is because of his
bad record. First of all, Dally was arrested at the age of 10! This is stated in the text by S.E.
Hinton on page ten Dally had spent three days on the wild side of New York and had been
arrested at the age of ten. Next, to blow off steam when he was infuriated he would get into gang
fights. This is also stated in the text on page eleven by S.E. Hinton In New York, Dally blew off
steam in gang fights, but here, organized gangs are rarities there are just small bunches of friends
who stick together, and the warfare is between the social classes. And above all, Dally would
always get drunk, ride in rodeos, lie, cheat, steal, roll drunks, and jump little kids. This can be
proven as the text states on page

Difference Between Humanistic Geography and Positivistic...
Difference Between Humanistic Geography and Positivistic Approach
There are definite differences between positivism and humanistic methods that geographers use.
Positivism, which has it s roots in quantitative theories, excludes the human element and includes
such fundamentals as cumulative data. Humanistic geography has it s roots in qualitative procedures
and focuses on the combination of research with the people.
Positivism is a rigorous and formal way to collect and analyze data that was developed around
the 1960 s by Auguste Comte (1798 1857) who is also credited with formalizing it. Studies are
clear and straight forward and researchers believe that there is only one method that all sciences
should rely on. Positivism believes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Within the humanistic views there are several different ways of thinking; pragmatism,
phenomenology, existentialism, and idealism. While existentialism and idealism have not been
very influential in geography, pragmatism and phenomenology have been. Pragmatism believes
that every human action is based on human perceptions and experiences. The focus is on groups
or societies rather then on individuals. Phenomenology believes that knowledge is subjective and
that the understanding of the individual is crucial. Researchers who use this method need to be
able to be sympathetic and have a deep understanding of the issue being researched. Humanistic
researchers believe that it is impossible to separate the mind and reality and therefore there
cannot be a set of standards and reproducible methods to be used. These geographers will use a
more loosely structured set of ideas and consider the individual being studied as well as the
geographer s own intuition and interpretation. One prominent geographer named Yi Fu Tuan, who
was born in 1930, was critical of geography that did not include the humanistic factor. Landscapes,
he believed, were often a result of the humans living around or near them. For example, gardens
were a persons attempt to control the environment. The humanistic approach allows the scholar to
explore a wide range of human experiences, but it lacks rigorous procedures of objective

Classical Music And Its Influence On The Culture Of...
Poetic Dissonance Classical music is earnest music engendered in the traditions of Western music.
Many great composers were born in that era kenned as the mundane practice period. For my
classical project I went to the Music Center s Walt Disney concert hall. It has had many famous
classical performances over the past few years. I witnessed something unique and enlightening
when I entered the orchestraperformance and heedfully aurally perceived all of this solemn music. I
discerned many famous composers this evening. Their denominations were Paul Hindemith, Pyotr
Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Benjamin Boone, Dmitri Shostakovich, and Arturo Marquez conducted by
Thomas Loewenheim. The pieces performed were Symphonic Metamorphosis on Themes of Carl
Maria von Weber; Allegro, Turandot: Scherzo, Andantino, March, Concert for Violin in D major;
Allegro Moderato, Waterless Music, Symphony in D minor; Revolutionary Petrograd, Razliv,
Aurora, Dawn of Humanity, and Danzon. I optically discerned many people and instruments being
played all over the theater. Mostly everyone I optically discerned was professionally dressed up.
The instruments being played were the violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, oboe, clarinet,
bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, bass trombone, tuba, percussion, and piano. The most
fascinating thing I cerebrated was intriguing was that they endeavored integrating water as an
instrument in the waterless music piece and it genuinely sounded congenial. When I entered the

Silas Marner Relationships
This essay will analyse the ways writers represents relationships between characters. The keys of
texts that communicates values and messages such as language, form and structure. Language, the
choice of words and their characteristic is very important to show the audience how the characters
change throughout the story and lastly, the form shows the audience what kind of text it is and if it
is written to be read or performed on stage.
Silas Marner is a Victorian realist novel by George Eliot. It contains twenty one chapters within
two parts and a conclusion. The beginning of first part shows Silas life in the village of Raveloe

After meeting Eppie his life and attitude changed. He finds trust in God that he lost after being
banished from church. He thinks he is a gift sent by God. He became more social, even accepting
an advice from a local mother how to dress little girl. Their relationship changed his values and he
understood that gold was not that important as people. `The gold had kept his thoughts in an ever
repeated circle, leading to nothing beyond itself; but Eppie was an object compacted of changes
and hopes that forced his thoughts onward.` (Eliot, p.125) This quote shows that Eppies`
appearance made Silas understand that gold is not as important as he thought so, and life was more
than only about money and being isolated from the world.
George Eliot uses the plot and language to give a message to the audience. Throughout the story
from when Silas is isolated from others with big love for money to becoming a respected father
she shows that shows that love and relationship between people is much more important than love
of money. Even though Silas lost his beloved money that he saved for a long time, he discovered
what real happiness and love is after he becomes a Eppies` father.
A Doll s House is a naturalist play in prose by Henrik Ibsen. Similar to George Eliot he uses the
plot and language to pass a message of values and morals to the audience. The structures of the
work are the three separate acts. Through them, the author shows how Nora`s and

Coaching can be defined as a process whereby an individual influences a group to achieve a

is because he was jealous of the Son. Similarly to actual religious texts, John Milton makes it
very plain in the novel that God and the Son are two separate entities. The Son or as some call
him, Jesus was somewhat of the vessel to save humanity. The Son was more of God s right hand

Despite what most would say, I actually feel like this jealousy makes Satan out to be more of a
hero as opposed to a villain. In order to be jealous if someone, one would have to care about said
person. One have to have some kind of fear or anxiety about losing said person. So, I feel that
Satan was concerned that he would lose his favorable position with God. Satan was ultimately
jealous of the Sons position and felt that he was replacing him. So, I feel that if Satan cared then

Essay Bayeux Tapestry Experience
Bayeux Tapestry Experience Rachel Louderback HUM111 Professor Lafferty May 27, 2012 It
was an honor to fight for Duke William s right to be crowned King in the battle of Hastings on
the 14th of October 1066. The battle of Hastings was one of the most memorable and successful
battles that I have ever participated in as a Norman soldier. The Duke of Normandy, William,
prepared for the battle against the King of England, Harold, months in advance. It all started after
the death of King Edward, the Confessor died the 5th of January 1066 without an official heir to
the throne (BBC, 2011). The day after King Edwards death, Harold claimed the throne to be King
Harold II of England, illegally. Once... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Us soldiers were never given the length in time we were going to be at this camp. Our time here
was spent building parts of wooden castles that we were to take with us to the battle field. The
smell of freshly cut wood once again made me and the other soldiers anxious to go into battle.
While building and preparing ourselves for battle, some of us soldiers spoke of the land that
Duke William had promised us when we conquered England. At one point it felt like I was never
going to receive that land as for the days kept going by and no news of moving out had been
spoken of. As the days went on, I noticed they started to become cooler. Finally late September,
Duke Williams received the news that Harald Hardrada and Tostig launched their invasion of
Northumbria. Our day to invasion of the south was coming fast. It was just a few days after
Duke Williams received the great news that our fleet of ships set sail. We all worked hard to
load the ships with weapons, armor, pre built wooden castles, food and drinks. The smell of the
sea air never smelt any better than it did on that day. Battle was coming near and the promised
land was just out of reach for me and the other soldiers. The sun was just about rising when our
fleet landed in southern England near Hastings and it never looked anymore beautiful then it did on
that day. William at once started commanding orders to us soldiers. He ordered

Co-Cultures in a Multicultural Society Paper
Co Cultures in a Multicultural Society Paper
The movie Fools Rush In is a great example of how gender as well as cultural differences can
hinder communication in a multicultural society. Fools Rush In is about two people, Alex and
Isabel, who come from two different cultural backgrounds who after a one night stand become
pregnant and decide to get married. However, along with the marriage come compromises that
include cultural traditions and personal sacrifices. The movie is a comedy but can also be viewed
as romantic and shows how two people who love each other can resolve the issues of cultural and
gender differences. Male and female differ in their use of communication because their reasons for
communicating are different. Men ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is why during the meeting of Isabel s family Alex is having a hard time understanding the
Mexican American way of life and causes a stir during the family dinner by his mistakes.
Common miscommunication among genders is misunderstandings, a woman may assume the man
is not listening and a man may think his words are being twisted and taken out of context.
Modern men and women by contrast are under the illusion that they speak the same language,
though the words they use may be the same their meanings for each sex may be different
(Cameron, 2007). Specific examples of some of these miscommunications, the underlying
message, a female expects for a man to read between the lines of her words and understand what
she is trying to say without her telling him. During the scene where Isabel clearly wants Alex to
admit he loves her and wants to make the marriage work, she throws out these signals and expects
for Alex to know what she wants when he is clearly confused and thinks she doesn t want to be with
him by her actions. The movie Fools Rush In also highlights the different types of conflict that
occur in a multicultural society. The movie showed the conflict of interest, value conflict and goal
conflict that went on between Alex and Isabel. The movie also touched on the different types of
gender conflict that happen in a relationship between a man and a woman. The male style of
communicating is more direct, personal and instrumental whereas the female

Burnout Is A Predominant Matter Within The World
Burnout is a very predominant matter within the world, especially among pastors. There are many
attributing factors to pastoral burnout, such as; working too many hours, inadequate time spent
refilling spiritually, lacking friends and support systems (Chandler 2), and the need to please
everyone (Olsen and Grosch 300). Research has shown that burnout is composed of three aspects:
emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced personal accomplishment (Maslach and
Jackson). In David Olsen and William Grosch s article they write; it is easier to attempt to deal
with a situation early, than to attempt to put the pieces back together (300). It is possible to live a
healthy pastoral life without suffering burnout and I intend to prevent this in my own personal life
and ministry.
One of the most important things I can do to prevent burnout is to continue to develop my prayer
life. When pastors have a healthy prayer life and are confident in God hearing their prayers, it
causes them to be both pastorally healthy and physically healthy (Francis, Robbins, and Wulff 322).
On the contrary, those who do not have confidence in their prayer life are more susceptible to
suffering pastoral burnout (Francis, Robbins, and Wulff 322). These statistics are unmistakable
proof that I must place my relationship with God above ministry, relationships, and any other tasks
required of me. In order to maintain consistency in my prayer life, I am committing to spend the
first waking minutes of

the question has been raised if students on college campuses should be allowed to carry a weapon

fishermen. Additionally, the old man recognizes weatherand finds beauty and advantage in it, rather
than seeing it as an obstacle. Furthermore, Santiago is so confident on the water that he believes he

He recognizes the neutrality of the sea and is much more hopeful about his relationship with the sea
than the young fishermen who know nothing of her true nature.
The old man lives a simple life and does not show any signs of incredible intelligence, but he
knows all he could about the natural world and the phenomena (such as weather) that take place.
Santiago s confidence in the future in many ways comes from this knowledge. Before the final
battle with the fish, when the fight had hit a lull, and Santiago was being dragged along, he had
time to observe his surroundings. He looked at the sky and saw the white cumulus built like
friendly piles of ice cream and high above were the thin feathers of the cirrus against the high
September sky. Light brisa (breeze), he said. Better weather for me than for you, fish.
(Hemingway 61). Since the narrator is seemingly looking through the eyes of Santiago ( He

happy view of the weather from Santiago. It is his knowledge of nature and the meaning of cumulus
clouds that gives him the ability to describe them so cheerfully. Furthermore, the light

Chemical Structure Of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene
Chemical structure
Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (chemical formula (C8H8)xВ·(C4H6)yВ·(C3H3N)z) is a graft
copolymer synthetised from polymerisation of three monomers, acrylonitrile, 1,3 butadiene and
styrene which are shown in Figure 1, and the side chains of ABS plastic are structurally distinct
from the main chain. Carbon, nitrogen and hydrogen are the main atoms present in ABS polymers
with carbon being the predominant atom. It is a thermoplastic polymer that becomes more pliable
when heated and then becomes harder and more rigid when cooled which is a reversible
physical change. Each ABS plastic has two phases, a continuous phase of styrene acrylonitrile
(SAN) and a dispersed phase of polybutadiene which are shown in Figure 2. The properties of
ABS plastic are dependent on the ratios of monomers and molecular structure of two phases. An
ABS polymer is comprised of 21% 27% acrylonitrile, 12% 25% butadiene and 54% 63% styrene.
In addition, an ABS polymer typically contains 70% 90% SAN phase and 10% 30% rubber phase
to meet its optimal commercial characteristics.
Manufacturing processes of ABS plastic
The general preparation of ABS plastic is to graft a polymerization of acrylonitrile styrene
mixture (SAN phase) in the presence of a suitable rubber component. There are five steps involved
in an emulsion process which are rubber polymerization, agglomeration, grafted polymerization,
polymer recovery and compounding, and all polymerisation reactions take place in the presence of
water. The grafting of SAN phase can be achieved by reacting with an initiator radical () from the
polybutadiene:
High levels of emulsifier are then added to maintain a separated suspension during the aqueous
phase. A stable dispersion is formed in the SAN phase after the polybutadiene is partially grafted.
The latex particles are then extracted through a coagulation process and produce an ABS
concentrate. After the compounding process, ABS polymers are produced. The advantages of the
emulsion process are that the resultant ABS resins are more flexible and they can have different
hardness, resistance and tensile strength depending on the different combinations of monomer
ratios. However, residual monomers and solvents will make

Relationships are all about give and take, and to maintain them you must be willing to do the
work. Today, dissolution of marriage is being used as the easy way out when couples can no
longer agree. When couples decide to divorce, emotions run rampant and the effects on the family
are not always considered. Divorce has become a debatable topic because of the loss of family
structure and foundation. For some people, the consequences of divorce are devastating, and for
others it means freedom. What does living happily ever after mean, when divorce rates continue

At one time people got married and stayed together for better or for worse. Society frowned on
divorce, and divorced people were likely to find themselves as social outcasts. The problem with
most relationships today is that they are disposable whether intimate or casual. If it does not work
out, you find someone else. The reasons for divorce vary. Some research suggests that women s
increasing labor force participation, access to higher education, and higher salaries make them less
willing to put up with traditional roles and expectations (Yodanis, 2005). Other common reasons for
divorce are lack of communication or commitment, infidelity, abuse (physical or emotional), and
financial problems. Before the divorce is even final, most relationships go through a process.
During the course of the marriage, one or both of the partners begins to feel alienated from the
other. Conflicts with each other intensify, become more frequent, and often go unresolved.
Feelings of bitterness, helplessness, and anger escalate as each spouse re evaluates their well
being and happiness. According to the American Counseling Association (ACA), the number one
reason for divorce is the breakdown in communication (ACA, 2010). Divorces often happen
because people rarely discuss their expectations in detail prior to marriage, are less willing to work
on their marriages afterwards, and would like quick solutions rather than having to resolve issues.

Urbanization And Commercialization On Literature
The Effects of Urbanization and Commercialization on Literature
Nature is inescapable. It surrounds humanity and sneaks its way into daily life. Society draws on
experiences with the environment to produce art, theater, and literature. As Tim Ingold, a professor
of Social Anthropology, explains, ... nature furnishes the substance, culture the form. The imaginary
worlds of stories are created from sensations gained from the environment, and culture is a medium
that guides the writer in expressing his or her tale. Tales of Moonlight and Rain (1776) by Ueda
Akinari was written during a time of pilgrimages, uprisings, and intellectual pursuits. Though set in
the past, the book shows the influences of his environment within his nine ghost stories. The
continued urbanization and commercialization of society influenced the literature produced in the
early modern period, as well as views on the supernatural, by expanding on the themes of travel,
loyalty, and philosophy as shown in Akinari s Tales of Moonlight and Rain.
As Japan became more urbanized and roads improved, many commoners became enthralled by the
opportunity to explore the world around them. However, since simply traveling to see the world
was prohibited by the shogunate, many explored the world through pilgrimages. These travelers
wrote dairies and poetry that described the sights and sounds they experience, expanding the culture
of travel through their literature. According to Anthony H. Chamber, the translator of

Toxic Shock Syndrome, or TSS is a life threatening illness caused by a bacteria called
Staphylococcus aureus . TSS was first discovered in children in 1978. (Venkataraman, 2015) After
the 1978 discovery, the disease itself was nationally recognized in 1980 when it was seen as a
health threat amongst reproductive women, after this epidemic the number of reports of TSS

The first step the doctor takes in attempting to overcome the disease is to identify the source of the
conflict and remove it, if applicable, and proceed treat it. The physician will then, after taking blood

that S. aureus is resistant to many antibiotics, this variety consists of nafcillin, oxacillin, penicillin,
and clindamycin. Based on the results of the blood cultures the physician may later decide to
change the antibiotics used. While being treated with these antibiotics patients may experience side
effects such as: nausea, headaches, vomiting, joint pain, and vaginal itch or discharge. A physician
may also use dopamine or epinephrine to treat low blood pressure. (Venkataraman, 2015)
Prognosis
Medically, Toxic Shock Syndromeis a very serious disease and is often considered life
threatening, referred to as deadly in 50 percent of cases. (Healthline Media, n.d.) The key to
overcoming TSS is to begin treatment early. If this is done, one will see improvement within 48
hours of medical attention and often will be able to leave the hospital within a week.

How would you describe your style of music?
My style is a cross between pop and adult contemporary. I m often told that my music is catchy
and my lyrics are easily relatable which is the main aim of the music I create.
Where do you get the ideas for your songwriting?
My ideas come from a wide range of places. I like to go through life learning and absorbing as
much as I can. For this reason, I have many thoughts and ideas which I can then translate into
music. Songwriting is a way for me to express myself and definitely an outlet for a lot of what I

Visual communication is the interaction of meanings and thoughts through visual stimuli. Usually

In this essay I will try to evidence the natural evolution of readability and legibility in visual
communication and how it s progression reached its pinnacle before the beginning of post
modernism. I will look as far back as the first known instances of visual communication, the cave
paintings, and target key elements to the evolution and progression of visual communication
including ideograms, the alphabet, scribes, the printing press, slave ship diagrams, the Renaissance,
Leonardo Da Vinci and the Avantgarde, before concentrating on the change from Modernism to
post modernism. In my essay readability refers to the ease in which we can read the piece and
legibility discuses the message it is trying to convey.
It is my View that Visual communication, for the most part; naturally progressed over time due to
the influence of previous developments. I believe that this reached its pinnacle during modernism
and experienced a drastic change during post modernism.
The main theory that i will be trying to evidence is the natural progression and evolution of

The realistic fiction, Tangerine written by Edward Bloor is about a family uncovering secrets in
the first person point of view of, the main character, Paul Fisher. Sight was used multiple times, in
this novel, symbolically and was very important because the character with the worst vision is the
one who could see the most. Through the motif of sight, Paul has a growing understanding of his
friends, familyand, himself.
In the first group Paul, experiences a growing understanding of his friends. Joey, one of Paul s
friends, believes that he is above better than everybody in Tangerine middle. Nah. I just said I didn t

he is being. However, Pauls other friend, Tino can see certain truths about Paul. You take care of

In the beginning of Tangerine Paul, doesn t understand why he has always hated and been scared
of his brother, Erik. Why didn t I answer the question? I used to have an answer ready for that
question.(39). Paul started questioning himself even though he had a story. He didn t understand
why he started to question his story. However later in the story, he starts to remember his story. I
remembered Castor. Vincent Castor... I remembered spray paint on that wall. Erik and Vincent
Castor had found a can of white spray paint, and they had painted something... You re gonna pay
for telling on Castor. (263). As soon as Paul starts remembering he, finally, starts to understand, see,

The Mysterious Death Of Mary Rogers Essay
I ve learned from the book, The Mysterious Death of Mary Rogers by Amy Gilman Srebnick that
the 19th century city is way different from today s cities. The laws weren t as strict, women weren
t as conservative, and abortion was legal. The death of Mary Rogers demonstrates the reality of the
middle class young women in the metropolitan areas. Mary Rogers illustrates young women during
the 19th century. Her story characterizes the threats of the city and the threats of the young women
during 19th century New York. Mary Rogers death maintains apprehension in regards to women s
changing roles, law, and sex. This case also focuses on the overdoing of abortion during the 19th
century. Mary Roger s death is a symbol for the latest developing city of this century, the fluctuating
role of women, and political and social reform.
In today s society the good outweighs the bad but in the 19th century, the good would have never
outweighed the bad. Even though the 19th century is a different time period than today s society
we still share similar characteristics. The first similarity is crimes. In today s society, we have
people, doing things out of the usual norm everyday which often ends in the death of someone s
loved one, and this is the same for 19th century New York. Mary Roger s... Show more content on

Srebnick, The death of Rogers was a public event, defined by the city and the uniqueness of a
historical moment (P. 4). Also, I ve learned that the news spread quickly in the 19th century just as
it does in today s society, but in today s society the news crew is on the scene as fast as they can
get there but it wasn t the same in the 19th century. Even though, the news spread quickly
throughout the city it was much slower to spread the news out of the city because televisions had
just been invented which means not many people had one, unlike today s

What Are Ethical Dilemma
TYPES OF ETHICAL DILEMMAS This concept was taken from module 7 ethical dilemmas ,
sub topic 1 understanding ethical dilemmas . Ethical dilemmas are situations in which there is a
choice to be made between two options, both of which are morally correct but other options are in
conflict. Choosing one of the option will result in transgressing against the other. Ethical dilemmas
are also known as moral dilemmas and it should be known that neither of the choices which
presents itself in this situation can resolve the situation in an ethically acceptable way. Nurses are
faced with ethical dilemmas daily in different areas of practice. The bad thing about such situations

Do she render preferential treatment and administer care to the high social class patient using
the best resources or she treats them equally? EMPIRICAL KNOWLEDGE VERSUS
PERSONAL BELIEF: In these dilemmas, research based knowledge in nursing practice is
contrasted to beliefs gained from such things as religious beliefs. For example, what should a
nurse do when a patient is admitted to the hospital that desperately needs a transfusion to live but
has the belief that transfusions are unacceptable? The nurse knows this patient will die without the
transfusion. How does that nurse empathize with the patient s family who supports the family
member s choice and still be supportive of the patient s and family s right to this decision? There
are also dilemma of confidentiality where you are confused as to keep patient s information
private and risk causing harm to others or disclose patient s information and save the lives of
others. There are also dilemma of non maleficence which involves avoiding harm and also the
dilemma of fidelity which involves faithfulness and honoring promises made to patients even when
you have lots of other patients to attend to and keeping the promise seems impossible. PERSONAL

A Feministic View on Jackson’s Short Stories †the
Lottery’...
Shirley Jackson is most famous for her short story The Lottery and her novel The Haunted House .
She has been applauded for her fresh approach towards American Gothic writing. There are many
works dedicated to the gothic elements her stories contain. However, most critics overlooked the
feminist elements that most of her stories have. The two short stories discussed in this essay both
have female characters who are outsiders in their society. Careful examination of the protagonists
course of action, setting, and symbolic references Shirley Jacksonput in both of the stories shows
that the female protagonist in both The Lotteryand The Tooth should be considered as a woman
with a feminist attitude towards a male dominated society.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

However, towards the end of the story Tessie transforms into a different woman once her family
is chosen. The next passage indicates Tessie s transformation when all of the sudden, Tessie
Hutchinson shouts to Mr. Summers, You didn t give him time enough to take any paper he
wanted. I saw you. It wasn t fair! (298). Her husband did not receive an honest treatment
according to Tessie, which will eventually lead to her downfall. Now that she is the victim, there
is a significant change in attitude towards the town and its tradition. She is no longer a good
natured woman who finds the lottery on great joke, instead, she stands up to this old tradition
and is more nervous and aggressive than ever before in the story. This is the complete opposite
of what we first saw of Tessie, a simple woman concerned more with her dishes than the lottery.
The character of Tessie, in the end of the story, is fully aware of the consequences of this same
lottery and she protests against the tradition which is so deeply rooted in her society. Because of
the first impression of Tessie the reader would have expected her to just shrug her shoulders,
instead Tessie does completely the opposite and stands up for her own rights. In The Tooth Clara

The Jim Crow Laws
From the end of Reconstruction in 1877 to the beginning of the Civil Rights Movement in 1954,
laws were in place that enforced racial segregation (referred to as Jim Crow laws). Beginning in
the late 1870s , Southern state legislatures, which were no longer under the control of freedmen
and carpetbaggers, passed legislation that required whites to be separated from persons of colour
in schools and public transportation, which was anyone who was strongly suspected of black
ancestry. Along with this, the segregation principle extended to theatres, restaurants, cemeteries,
and parks in an attempt to prevent contact between whites and blacks as equal members of
society. At the state and local level, it was codified and in the infamous U.S. Supreme Court case
Plessy v. Ferguson. On June 7, 1892, Homer Plessy bought a first class ticket to Covington at the
Press Street Depot in New Orleans. After telling the conductor that he was a colored man , the
former asked him to move to the coloured car, but the latter refused because he exclaimed that he
was an American citizen and that he intends to ride to Covington. Soon afterward, Plessy was
arrested and dragged off of the train. Four months after his arrest, Plessy s attorneys entered a plea
claiming that Louisiana s Separate Car Act, which Plessy violated, was unconstitutional.
Consequently, this would mean that the court didn t have the jurisdiction to hear or determine all
of the facts. Also, his attorneys claimed that the

Concept Concepts Of Feminine Power Essay
CHAPTER 3 CONCEPT OF FEMININE POWER
The word feminine refers to a woman and the word power is symbolic of the strength and
courage that she possesses; thus feminine power is the way in which women prove themselves to
be ahead of men, how much strength a woman has to bring about a positive change in society by
her words and deeds. It is like awakening the authentic power to so create and shape the future and
lives of millions of people. Feminine energy is one of the most powerful forces on Earth.
Feminine power is the power to create those things that are beyond our control, but which our hearts
most deeply long for. Things such as love, intimacy, spiritual connection, self expression, creativity,
and right livelihood, meaningful contribution to the world and a higher future for generations to
come all require the awakening of the co creative feminine power to bring them forth.
There are many women who have left their marks behind in shaping the society. But in this
research paper the main focus will be laid upon Sita and Draupadi. As discussed earlier that how
much these two women had to suffer in their respective lives, we also learn in the later part of the
two epics that how these women turned their sufferings into struggle for justice. Both women
represent feminine power in their own ways.
In Ramayana, Sita was the epitome of feminine power. Though she had a life of extreme struggle
but she did not fall weak and gave up her hopes. She remained strong and carried

Flight 305 Research Paper
On November 24, 1971, a passenger like any other boarded Northwest Orient Airlines Flight 305.
The man known as D.B. Cooper, hijacked the plane with a ransom note that demanded money and
parachutes, when he got the money he jumped off the plane, never to be seen again. Many have
wondered how he succeeded the heist and if he even survived the jump.
Along with D.B. Cooper, 36 other passengers boarded the Boeing 727, that was headed from
Portland to Seattle. Soon after taking off, Cooper handed the flight attendant a note. When she
looked at the note it read, I have a bomb in my briefcase. I will use it if necessary. I want you to sit
next to me. You are being hijacked. He then showed a glimpse of wires and red sticks in his brief
case. Cooper ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When receiving the parachutes he refused the instructions on how to use them. This concluded that
he probably had used parachutes before. Out of the parachutes he received he decided to use the
non steerable military parachute. Tom Kaye of Citizen Sleuths reports on why this would have
been a good choice, The military chute could better withstand the exit speed of the plane. It is
believed that Cooper jumped out of the plane above Tacoma, Washington. Prior to jumping, he
told the flight attendant to join the crew in the cockpit. Shortly after, a warning light indicated
the rear door had been opened. The crew assumed that he had jumped at this point, which was
over Washington. According to former Army Trooper Gregory Hall, D.B. Cooper made a
diversion that was so successful that people have been searching in the wrong area ever since
that night. Instead of immediately jumping out, Cooper would have waited and jumped out
later when they already thought he was gone. This distraction would ve been the perfect attempt
to fool the FBI in its investigation. It seems to be no coincidence that D.B. Cooper ended up on
a Boeing 727. The tie left behind on the plane showed that he could ve been a worker for the
company. According to a group of scientists selected by federal officials in Seattle, A new
analysis of the tie turned up particles of cerium, strontium sulfide, and pure titanium. The
particles found were mainly used in the manufacture of certain aircrafts at the time. Tom Kaye
of Citizen Sleuths, said the particles indicate Cooper may have worked in one of the rare
industries where they were used. Kaye also said those substances were used in one of Boeing s
plane that Cooper could ve been a manger or engineer at. In addition to the theory that Cooper s
landing zone was around Reno, two letters showed up at the Reno newspapers. A few days

  • 2. Special Needs Assistant Essay Special needs assistants (SNAs) are to work with children who have specific care needs. They provide non teaching care support. SNAs support children who have care needs resulting from a disability, behavioural difficulties or a medical issue. This includes significant physical or sensory function impairment . Children with dyslexia do not apply for SNA teachers because their disability does not need physical care .They can look after themselves. How to improve the service Many people with dyslexia are only getting support and the psychological assessment they need if their difficulty is bad enough. There are still too many barriers in dealing with dyslexia in Ireland, according to Dr. Pauline Cogan educational psychologist and dyslexia researcher. There needs to be more proactive support; instead of officials acting as gatekeepers [deciding who may and may not receive support and assistance], we should be there spotting the children who need help, and putting that help in place. Without that help, they re denied information and access to the curriculum. ( Peter McGuire 2015). The service should be improved by being more open and less strict and letting all children get the help no matter how bad their case is . All children that do have dyslexia need help no matter how bad or good it is. The way that services are... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 3. Ten Care Tips Ten Care Tips for Your T Shirt Creations You invested your time, your sweat, and your tears into creating the perfect t shirt creation. It doesn t matter if it s a tie dye creation or a silkscreened masterpiece, you want it to last. Sadly, t shirts are susceptible to fading, shrinking, cracking, graphic loss, etc. When you wear your shirts, the sun, the sweat, and other elements speed the deterioration of your tee. Further, the way you wash, dry and store your shirt plays a huge part in the life of your prized possession. Thankfully, there are some things you can do to preserve your tee and lengthen its lifespan. Consider these ten care tips: 1. The safest way to wash your shirt is by hand in cold water. This isn t always a practical ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... T shirts that are not worn often should not be hung on a hanger. They should be folded and stored in a box or container. Plastic sleeves are another way to keep your shirts looking their best. At very least, they should be folded and kept on your shelf or in a dresser drawer. 9. Make a T shirt Folder. An ally in the fight to protect your shirts is the proper fold. You don t want to run creases through your artwork. A shirt folder is a great way to quickly fold your shirts in a proper manner. A folder can be purchased or made for a matter of cents from common household materials (six pieces of 9x12 cardboard and a roll of duct tape). While cereal boxes are a little thin, they are the right size. Place the rectangles three wide by two deep about a quarter inch apart. Connect the panels with the duct tape on the front and the back. The quarter inch of duct tape between the panels will act like hinges, so make sure they are pressed together well. The folder is now complete. Lay your shirt face down on the folder vertically with the neck to the top. Fold the right two panels to the center. Leave the shirt, but pull the panels back. Repeat this move on the left. Fold the panel in the center bottom up toward the top. You now have a perfectly folded ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Snow Crash Analysis Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson takes place in a not so distant future, but the technology is much more advanced than modern technology. Virtual reality has taken the world by storm in what s called the Metaverse, a place where computer users, which is only about 10% of the world at this point, can be anything they want. Users of the Metaverse can pick an avatar to be and then walk all around the Metaverse, interacting with other users that are standing in a room halfway across the world. Stephenson s descriptions of this innovative world are built upon science that is extremely advanced but still credible. Stephenson illustrates realistic, common technological structures that are still more futuristic than modern technologyto draw the reader into the Metaverse and world of Snow Crash. In the Metaverse, Stephenson explains authentic, yet futuristic, technology to the reader to bring the reader into the book. Neal Stephenson first introduces us to The Deliverator , who we later find out is in the Metaverse, as a Mafia worker who has to deliver pizzas in less than half an hour or lose everything he has. When describing the process of the Deliverator and the advanced pizza boxes he uses, called smart boxes , the narrator says, The pizza box is a plastic carapace now, corrugated for stiffness, a little LED readout glowing on the side, telling the Deliverator how many trade imbalance producing minutes have ticked away since the fateful phone call (Stephenson 6). • 5. Autoethnographic Writing Main Post #2 According to Hughes, Pennington, Makris (2012), a criterion for conducting fair and robust evaluations of autoethnographic writing is its adherence to a logic of inquiry that allows the reader to trace the path charted, beginning with the initial statement of the problem issue to its conclusions and applications of data. Conducting impartial research requires ensuring that a comprehensible illustration of procedures employed is presented for evaluation. It also requires a blueprint for research design and development, analytic and construal of data collected, deductions, and inferences that substantiate or refute theories. Another criterion for conducting fair and robust evaluations of autoethnographic writing requires transparency of the report submission. Hughes, Pennington, and Makris (2012) assert that researchers must be clear in the rationale driving the investigation as well as the actions taken beginning with the initial concern or interest. According to Adams et al. (2013), the researcher must present clear and coherent explanations regarding methods and systems employed throughout the research process. Transparency ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As an autoethnographic writer, substantive contribution to an understanding of social life contributes to a fair and objective evaluative process. Its narratives should induce rational and intellectual thought that provokes additional inquiry and review in its readers. By continuing to critically analyze the self in social and cultural contexts we develop the habit of reflexivity through critical reflection while strengthening professional skills and ... • 6. To The Lighthouse By Virginia Woolf The study is designed to understand the different social issues related to different characters in the novel To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf. It focuses on the Victorian and Modern marriages and highlights how the female characters are different from one another. Similarly, there are a lot of religious doubt, degrading women, and an unclear vision in the novelby one of the characters. However, there are deaths in the novel too. Similarly, it will focus on the two central women in the story. Study wants to show that Virginia Woolf created two very different characters but with a very interesting and complex connection. The first one is Mrs. Ramsay, a woman still belonging to the Victorian age, the second, Lily Briscoe, here called a New woman . My intention is also to analyze the significance of Lily s painting and how it symbolizes and represents her coming to terms with her homosexuality, and simultaneously her feelings towards Mrs. Ramsay. • 7. Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery Rule induction is one of the major forms of data mining and is perhaps the most common form of knowledge discovery in unsupervised learning systems. It is also perhaps the form of data mining that most closely resembles the process that most people think about when they think about data mining, namely mining for gold through a vast database. The gold in this case would be a rule that is interesting that tells you something about your database that you didn t already know and probably weren t able to explicitly articulate (aside from saying show me things that are interesting ). The bane of rule induction systems is also its strength that it retrieves all possible interesting patterns in the database. This is strength in the sense that it leaves no stone unturned but it can also be viewed as a weakness because the user can easily become overwhelmed with such a large number of rules that it is difficult to look through all of them. You almost need a second pass of data miningto go through the list of interesting rules that have been generated by the rule induction system in the first place in order to find the most valuable gold nugget amongst them all. This overabundance of patterns can also be problematic for the simple task of prediction because all possible patterns are culled from the database there may be conflicting predictions made by equally interesting rules. • 9. Chinese Immigrants in America Essay After the first wave of Chinese immigrants arrived in the United States in the early 1840s during the California Gold Rush, many Chinese people continued to travel across the Pacific, escaping poor conditions in China with hopes and ambitions for a better life in America. Many more Chinese immigrants began arriving into the 1860s on the Pacific coast for work in other areas such as the railroad industry. The immigrants noticed an increasing demand for their labor because of their readiness to work for low wages. Many of those who arrived did not plan to stay long, and therefore there was no push for their naturalization. The growth of Chinese jobs in the California labor market did not stop there. Because of the hard times, employers found it especially attractive that the Chinese workers would work for long hours with low pay. Huge losses hit California in 1876 with a drought; this led to unemployment across the coast including for the Chinese. Many white investors, however, used the Chinese as scapegoats for this statewide depression, fueling the anti Chinese fire and leading to more hostility towards Chinese workers. The firsthand account of Lee Chew, a Chinese immigrant to America in the early 1880s, shows the disparities between the white man s perception of Chinese laborers and reality as well as the hostility that arose as a result. When Lee first arrived in America, he started working as a housekeeper for a family in California, being paid $3.50 a week and being able to keep 50 cents afterwards. For Lee and other Chinese immigrants, they believed the hostility arose from jealousy in the labor market, because he [Chinese worker] is a more faithful worker than one of their people, [and they] have raised such a great outcry about Chinese cheap labor that they have shut him [Chinese worker] out of working on farms or in factories or building railroads or making streets or digging sewers. Lee s testimony shows the common ripple effects of the working restrictions white men imposed on the Chinese immigrants looking for jobs. This resulted in Chinese ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Analysis Of The Outsiders Do you know Dallas Winston is? Well let me tell you he is not nice. Dallas is a clod, mean, and tough person from the gang in The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton. Later on in the book a member of the gang, Johnny dies from saving kids from a burning church. Also because of his bad record and personality. This fills Dally with hate and rage. For this reason Dally goes to a store to a store and robes it. Meeting his gangin the lot the police pull up with guns. Dally also has a gunwithout ammunition to scare people, but when he pulls it out the cops shoot without hesitation. Why did Dally bluff the cops? Well there is three reasons. His bad record, his personality, and lastly the death of Johnny. To begin with Dally pulled the gun out so the cops would shoot him is because of his bad record. First of all, Dally was arrested at the age of 10! This is stated in the text by S.E. Hinton on page ten Dally had spent three days on the wild side of New York and had been arrested at the age of ten. Next, to blow off steam when he was infuriated he would get into gang fights. This is also stated in the text on page eleven by S.E. Hinton In New York, Dally blew off steam in gang fights, but here, organized gangs are rarities there are just small bunches of friends who stick together, and the warfare is between the social classes. And above all, Dally would always get drunk, ride in rodeos, lie, cheat, steal, roll drunks, and jump little kids. This can be proven as the text states on page ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Difference Between Humanistic Geography and Positivistic... Difference Between Humanistic Geography and Positivistic Approach There are definite differences between positivism and humanistic methods that geographers use. Positivism, which has it s roots in quantitative theories, excludes the human element and includes such fundamentals as cumulative data. Humanistic geography has it s roots in qualitative procedures and focuses on the combination of research with the people. Positivism is a rigorous and formal way to collect and analyze data that was developed around the 1960 s by Auguste Comte (1798 1857) who is also credited with formalizing it. Studies are clear and straight forward and researchers believe that there is only one method that all sciences should rely on. Positivism believes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Within the humanistic views there are several different ways of thinking; pragmatism, phenomenology, existentialism, and idealism. While existentialism and idealism have not been very influential in geography, pragmatism and phenomenology have been. Pragmatism believes that every human action is based on human perceptions and experiences. The focus is on groups or societies rather then on individuals. Phenomenology believes that knowledge is subjective and that the understanding of the individual is crucial. Researchers who use this method need to be able to be sympathetic and have a deep understanding of the issue being researched. Humanistic researchers believe that it is impossible to separate the mind and reality and therefore there cannot be a set of standards and reproducible methods to be used. These geographers will use a more loosely structured set of ideas and consider the individual being studied as well as the geographer s own intuition and interpretation. One prominent geographer named Yi Fu Tuan, who was born in 1930, was critical of geography that did not include the humanistic factor. Landscapes, he believed, were often a result of the humans living around or near them. For example, gardens were a persons attempt to control the environment. The humanistic approach allows the scholar to explore a wide range of human experiences, but it lacks rigorous procedures of objective ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many great composers were born in that era kenned as the mundane practice period. For my classical project I went to the Music Center s Walt Disney concert hall. It has had many famous classical performances over the past few years. I witnessed something unique and enlightening when I entered the orchestraperformance and heedfully aurally perceived all of this solemn music. I discerned many famous composers this evening. Their denominations were Paul Hindemith, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Benjamin Boone, Dmitri Shostakovich, and Arturo Marquez conducted by Thomas Loewenheim. The pieces performed were Symphonic Metamorphosis on Themes of Carl Maria von Weber; Allegro, Turandot: Scherzo, Andantino, March, Concert for Violin in D major; Allegro Moderato, Waterless Music, Symphony in D minor; Revolutionary Petrograd, Razliv, Aurora, Dawn of Humanity, and Danzon. I optically discerned many people and instruments being played all over the theater. Mostly everyone I optically discerned was professionally dressed up. The instruments being played were the violin, viola, cello, double bass, flute, oboe, clarinet, bassoon, horn, trumpet, trombone, bass trombone, tuba, percussion, and piano. Their relationship changed his values and he understood that gold was not that important as people. `The gold had kept his thoughts in an ever repeated circle, leading to nothing beyond itself; but Eppie was an object compacted of changes and hopes that forced his thoughts onward.` (Eliot, p.125) This quote shows that Eppies` appearance made Silas understand that gold is not as important as he thought so, and life was more than only about money and being isolated from the world. George Eliot uses the plot and language to give a message to the audience. Throughout the story from when Silas is isolated from others with big love for money to becoming a respected father she shows that shows that love and relationship between people is much more important than love of money. Even though Silas lost his beloved money that he saved for a long time, he discovered what real happiness and love is after he becomes a Eppies` father. To achieve this test, the researchers hook the experimental animals up to tubes that pump large amounts of the test substance into their stomachs until they pass. This test is exceedingly painful to the animals because death can take days or even weeks. The use of Draize and LD50 test have diminished over the past few years, but have not quite been ... He was a cheerful and active child, who was very talkative and appeared to be the most joyful and comical of all the children in the film 7 Up. With an in depth look at his life considering environmental, biological and psychological factors, it becomes apparent that his life was not a typical one, veering away from any standard timeline and lacking any amount of stability. At 56, when the typical man should be preparing to retire and expecting grandchildren, Neil is just now able to keep his first job, as a counselor of Cambria. Neil didn t accomplish things in the typical order of the social clock; and I think this was a huge contributor to his depression. Neil was raised by his parents, whom he believed were responsible for not addressing real world problems with him while he was young, or not setting enough obstacles in his way (Apted Almond, 2013). Maybe Neil s problem was more a lack of the development of coping strategies. Perhaps he never had to deal with any negativity as a child and therefore never learned to cope with stress. Modern men and women by contrast are under the illusion that they speak the same language, though the words they use may be the same their meanings for each sex may be different (Cameron, 2007). There are many attributing factors to pastoral burnout, such as; working too many hours, inadequate time spent refilling spiritually, lacking friends and support systems (Chandler 2), and the need to please everyone (Olsen and Grosch 300). Research has shown that burnout is composed of three aspects: emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and reduced personal accomplishment (Maslach and Jackson). In David Olsen and William Grosch s article they write; it is easier to attempt to deal with a situation early, than to attempt to put the pieces back together (300). It is possible to live a healthy pastoral life without suffering burnout and I intend to prevent this in my own personal life and ministry. One of the most important things I can do to prevent burnout is to continue to develop my prayer life. When pastors have a healthy prayer life and are confident in God hearing their prayers, it causes them to be both pastorally healthy and physically healthy (Francis, Robbins, and Wulff 322). On the contrary, those who do not have confidence in their prayer life are more susceptible to suffering pastoral burnout (Francis, Robbins, and Wulff 322). • 31. Chemical Structure Of Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene Chemical structure Acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (chemical formula (C8H8)xВ·(C4H6)yВ·(C3H3N)z) is a graft copolymer synthetised from polymerisation of three monomers, acrylonitrile, 1,3 butadiene and styrene which are shown in Figure 1, and the side chains of ABS plastic are structurally distinct from the main chain. Carbon, nitrogen and hydrogen are the main atoms present in ABS polymers with carbon being the predominant atom. It is a thermoplastic polymer that becomes more pliable when heated and then becomes harder and more rigid when cooled which is a reversible physical change. Each ABS plastic has two phases, a continuous phase of styrene acrylonitrile (SAN) and a dispersed phase of polybutadiene which are shown in Figure 2. The properties of ABS plastic are dependent on the ratios of monomers and molecular structure of two phases. An ABS polymer is comprised of 21% 27% acrylonitrile, 12% 25% butadiene and 54% 63% styrene. In addition, an ABS polymer typically contains 70% 90% SAN phase and 10% 30% rubber phase to meet its optimal commercial characteristics. Manufacturing processes of ABS plastic The general preparation of ABS plastic is to graft a polymerization of acrylonitrile styrene mixture (SAN phase) in the presence of a suitable rubber component. There are five steps involved in an emulsion process which are rubber polymerization, agglomeration, grafted polymerization, polymer recovery and compounding, and all polymerisation reactions take place in the presence of water. The grafting of SAN phase can be achieved by reacting with an initiator radical () from the polybutadiene: High levels of emulsifier are then added to maintain a separated suspension during the aqueous phase. A stable dispersion is formed in the SAN phase after the polybutadiene is partially grafted. The latex particles are then extracted through a coagulation process and produce an ABS concentrate. After the compounding process, ABS polymers are produced. The advantages of the emulsion process are that the resultant ABS resins are more flexible and they can have different hardness, resistance and tensile strength depending on the different combinations of monomer ratios. However, residual monomers and solvents will make ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some research suggests that women s increasing labor force participation, access to higher education, and higher salaries make them less willing to put up with traditional roles and expectations (Yodanis, 2005). Other common reasons for divorce are lack of communication or commitment, infidelity, abuse (physical or emotional), and financial problems. It surrounds humanity and sneaks its way into daily life. Society draws on experiences with the environment to produce art, theater, and literature. As Tim Ingold, a professor of Social Anthropology, explains, ... nature furnishes the substance, culture the form. The imaginary worlds of stories are created from sensations gained from the environment, and culture is a medium that guides the writer in expressing his or her tale. Tales of Moonlight and Rain (1776) by Ueda Akinari was written during a time of pilgrimages, uprisings, and intellectual pursuits. Though set in the past, the book shows the influences of his environment within his nine ghost stories. The continued urbanization and commercialization of society influenced the literature produced in the early modern period, as well as views on the supernatural, by expanding on the themes of travel, loyalty, and philosophy as shown in Akinari s Tales of Moonlight and Rain. As Japan became more urbanized and roads improved, many commoners became enthralled by the opportunity to explore the world around them. Usually in 2D visual communication covers a wide range of genres including art, ideograms, typography, photography, illustration, graphic design and many others. In this essay I will try to evidence the natural evolution of readability and legibility in visual communication and how it s progression reached its pinnacle before the beginning of post modernism. I will look as far back as the first known instances of visual communication, the cave paintings, and target key elements to the evolution and progression of visual communication including ideograms, the alphabet, scribes, the printing press, slave ship diagrams, the Renaissance, Leonardo Da Vinci and the Avantgarde, before concentrating on the change from Modernism to post modernism. In my essay readability refers to the ease in which we can read the piece and legibility discuses the message it is trying to convey. I believe that this reached its pinnacle during modernism and experienced a drastic change during post modernism. The main theory that i will be trying to evidence is the natural progression and evolution of readability and legibility in visual communication until the beginning of post modernism The earliest known form of visual communication is Indonesian cave paintings dated at ... It wasn t fair! (298). Her husband did not receive an honest treatment according to Tessie, which will eventually lead to her downfall. Now that she is the victim, there is a significant change in attitude towards the town and its tradition. She is no longer a good natured woman who finds the lottery on great joke, instead, she stands up to this old tradition and is more nervous and aggressive than ever before in the story. This is the complete opposite of what we first saw of Tessie, a simple woman concerned more with her dishes than the lottery. The character of Tessie, in the end of the story, is fully aware of the consequences of this same lottery and she protests against the tradition which is so deeply rooted in her society. The Jim Crow Laws From the end of Reconstruction in 1877 to the beginning of the Civil Rights Movement in 1954, laws were in place that enforced racial segregation (referred to as Jim Crow laws). Beginning in the late 1870s , Southern state legislatures, which were no longer under the control of freedmen and carpetbaggers, passed legislation that required whites to be separated from persons of colour in schools and public transportation, which was anyone who was strongly suspected of black ancestry. Along with this, the segregation principle extended to theatres, restaurants, cemeteries, and parks in an attempt to prevent contact between whites and blacks as equal members of society. At the state and local level, it was codified and in the infamous U.S. Supreme Court case Plessy v. Ferguson. On June 7, 1892, Homer Plessy bought a first class ticket to Covington at the Press Street Depot in New Orleans. After telling the conductor that he was a colored man , the former asked him to move to the coloured car, but the latter refused because he exclaimed that he was an American citizen and that he intends to ride to Covington. Soon afterward, Plessy was arrested and dragged off of the train. Four months after his arrest, Plessy s attorneys entered a plea claiming that Louisiana s Separate Car Act, which Plessy violated, was unconstitutional. Out of the parachutes he received he decided to use the non steerable military parachute. Tom Kaye of Citizen Sleuths reports on why this would have been a good choice, The military chute could better withstand the exit speed of the plane. It is believed that Cooper jumped out of the plane above Tacoma, Washington. Prior to jumping, he told the flight attendant to join the crew in the cockpit. Shortly after, a warning light indicated the rear door had been opened. The crew assumed that he had jumped at this point, which was over Washington. According to former Army Trooper Gregory Hall, D.B. Cooper made a diversion that was so successful that people have been searching in the wrong area ever since that night. Instead of immediately jumping out, Cooper would have waited and jumped out later when they already thought he was gone. This distraction would ve been the perfect attempt to fool the FBI in its investigation. It seems to be no coincidence that D.B. Cooper ended up on a Boeing 727. The tie left behind on the plane showed that he could ve been a worker for the company.
