Federal Budget Definition
The Federal Budget What exactly establishes the federal budget? Just as it takes money to run a
household, it takes money to run the government. Like people, the government also makes choices
about how to spend its money. Each year, the President and Congress have an official back and forth
process of deciding what next year s budget should be. All the government agencies and departments
submit a budget request explaining how much money is a necessity. The president makes a list of his
own spending priorities, and so does the Congress. They debate, consult, and finally compromise to
form a budget that says how much money each entitlement program will receive. When it comes to the
federal budget, there are different aspects that are affected;

The Post Classical Era
During the Post Classical Era, from 600 CE to 1450 CE, new empires rose through the combination of
aspects such as social structure and religion from the classical era and globalization as well as
expansion of religious and technological ideas from the modern era in order to form the Post Classical
Era. Trade took on new roles through connecting areas and spreading goods, ideas, and disease. Ideas
that were often spread was religion, such as Islam and Buddhism, thus leading to global awareness
and conflict. Though Post Classical Mesoamerica was not included in the global trade route linking
Eurasia and Africa, Mesoamerica still enjoyed its own advances during this time period. Through the
Post Classical Era, Mesoamerica continued to celebrate religion because of its combination with
everyday life, however they began trading because of the introduction of conquest, and developed
farming techniques that played roles in trade and religion.
During the Post Classical Era, civilizations in Mesoamerica continued to practice polytheism because
of its connection with everyday life. In contrast to the monotheistic gods of Eurasia and Africa,
Mesoamerica continued to worship multiple gods that represented natural phenomena because of their
lack of need for reform. Religion in Mesoamerica Empires such as the Inca, Aztec, Mayan, Olmec, etc
grew with the empires, and therefore was born in a time where order and peace was already achieved,
unlike that of Islam or Buddhism, where their

Drones Technology Research Paper
CURRENT DRONES TECHNOLOGY 1.) Methane is a greenhouse gas that contributes to global
warming and inherently dangerous to human health. It can also be a potent energy source and a
potential indicator of life or life like activity. NASA uses the Open Path Laser Spectrometer with the
drones to detect methane gas leaks large and small (Atherton, 2016). 2.) Electric drones are often
limited to just 20 minutes of air time before they have to land and get new batteries, or wait for the old
batteries to charge. With hydrogen fuel cells, a commercial, electric drone could spend up to two hours
hanging in the sky, be refueled almost instantly after landing, and then take another 120 minutes in the
air. This flying contraption is the result of Intelligent Energy, who attached a hydrogen fuel cell to a
DJI Matrice 100 quadcopter. The fuel cell and its fuel weigh just 3.5 pounds, which is lighter than the
battery it replaces (Atherton, 2016). 3.) The first urban delivery in the United States by a fully
autonomous drone was held in Hawthorne, Nevada. The drone was flown by drone delivery company
Flirtey, which got it s start in 2013 in Australia, delivering textbooks to universities, before it moved to
Nevada. Its six engine multicopter flew along a predetermined path. When it reached the target house,

Reggae Drumming Essay
Discuss the theoretical and technical concepts of reggae drumming, with reference to its historical
context (500 600 words)
Reggae is a music style (genre) which developed in the Caribbean (Jamaica) in the late 60s, which
originated from the development of Ska and Rocksteady .
Reggae is recognized worldwide by the rhythmic accents provided from the off beat pattern (usually
played by the guitar or piano) it is also known as the Skank .
This pattern accents the 2nd and 4th beat in each bar (or on the amp; of each beat all depending on
how the music/ piece is counted) and combines with the drum that emphasises on beat 3 creating a
unique feel.
Reggae music usually has a 4/4 time signature, with a low tempo. For the drums, 8th ... Show more

The Emphasis is entirely on the 3rd beat of the bar.
(Usually on the snare, or a rim shot combined with the bass drum).
Bob Marley One Drop is a perfect example of this beat
Rockers :
Another style of drumming is called Rockers which was invented by the Drum and Bass duo (Sly and
Robbie). This style emphasises on the bass drum being played on the 1st and 3rd beat instead of just
the 3rd alone. Everything else is consistent with the One Drop style.
This gives a much harder sound, and increases the song drive more.
It plays a similar beat to that of the guitar.
An emphasis can be found on the 1st and 3rd beat of the bar.
At times, counter rhythms can be played over the beat, but the 1st and 3rd beat are always noticeable.
Steppers :
The last common reggae drumming style is called Steppers . This is when the beat includes the bass
drum hit on all 4 quarter notes, creating a stronger driving pulse. This style has a stronger sound than
Rockers with an even stronger beat.
It is probably the most simple of the beats.
Its defining characteristics are a solid 1 2 3 4 of the bass drum.
A good example of the Steppers beat can be found through a piece by Bob Marley, titled: Exodus .
Here is an example of a One Drop rhythm/ Style:

The Never Ending Cycle
The Never Ending Cycle
Everyone has heard someone comment on poverty in the United States. Some people say, the poor
have only themselves to blame for their situation. Or, why don t they get a job? This is the problem
with society today; the different levels of the class structure have grown so far apart from one another
they cannot even relate to one another. People look down on the poor as unmotivated and lazy when,
in fact, it is not their fault, but the fault of a society that does not value people of wage labor. In our
society today poverty is a never ending cycle that feeds off itself, making the rich richer and the poor
poorer. There are three main factors that can be brought up when talking about the cycle of poverty; ...
Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The problem with poverty is more deeply rooted than just the decision to attend school. Poverty also is
a factor of something the poor have absolutely no control over, the redistribution or dispersion of
money. This is the deciding factor in how the classes are formed. If the government does not
redistribute the wealth evenly throughout the class system, gaps appear. This is exactly what is
happening in today s society. Under the new policies of our president the richest one percent have
taken a 25 percent income tax cut while the poorest 20 percent have taken a 1.2 percent tax cut (Bush
Tax Cut Plan). It is said that the rich will spend their money on goods and services throughout the
economy, essentially trickling down or giving the money to the poor through businesses, but it has not
worked to date. From this theory we find that the cycle continues; the rich get richer and the poor get
poorer. So where does all this tax money go; shouldn t it be given back to the poor? In the poor s eyes,
yes it should, but in the rich people s eyes, no it shouldn t and so it does not. Sure, the government
puts some taxes towards welfare, but, in fact, roughly 38 percent of the federal income goes right to
the military cause (War Resisters League). Only about 30 percent of the federal income is spent on
human resources such as welfare and medicare. The money that can

Even more impressive still, is Dr. Reemtsma s transplanted kidneys which survived nine months. It is
effortless to see the rapid progression of success with these first three operations. The first kidney
survived four days, the second survived sixty days; and the third survived nine months. If it is possible
for a baboon kidney to live in a human for nine months, then it is feasible that a kidney could survive
for a year or five years and some day tens of years. Surgeons, like everybody else, learn from their
mistakes and build on their past experiences in order to advance their knowledge in their field. As the
saying goes, you have to learn to walk before you can run. Just like the first time the Wright Brother s
tested their plane it only flew a couple of feet. Did they say, It only flew a couple of feet; lets give up?
No. They tried it again and it flew a little farther and crashed. Still, did they say, lets give up? No, they
realized they had to learn to fly a short distance before they could learn to fly a long distances. Just
like Dr. Hitchcock, Starzl, and Reemtsma didn t say, What s the point of transplanting a kidney if the
patient is going to die after a few days or weeks they too realized that you had to first learn the basics
and perfect their procedure before the kidneys could survive for years. Xentransplants are no longer a

My Thoughts About Worldviews Essay
A worldview, in my opinion, is the way you look at the world and how you see God; a worldview is a
set of beliefs that directs the way you act. To determine your worldview, you must ask yourself a few
questions. Some of these questions include: Who is God? Where did I come from? Why do I exist?
What is my purpose in life? Answers in Genesis defines a worldview as the overall perspective from
which one sees and interprets the world. A worldview is a collection of beliefs about life and the
universe held by an individual or a group. [1] To make this definition easier to understand, I ll use an
analogy. A worldview is like a pair of glasses. If you get the right prescription, you ll be able to see
really clearly. If you get the wrong ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They believe that Allah is god and that Muhammad is his messenger. They do not think Allah is a
knowable god and they do not believe in the Trinity. They do not believe in heaven but they believe in
a paradise and to go there you must do a certain amount of good deeds. Also, Muslims must complete
some tasks, often called pillars. These pillars include: confession, prayer, fasting, almsgiving,
pilgrimage, and in some cases, jihad. Like Christians, Muslims have a book of scripture, called the
Qur an, written by Muhammad. Islam philosophy also believes in the supernatural because of Allah.
Muslim philosophers, and some Christian philosophers, use the Kalam Cosmological Argument for
the existence of God. Although Muslims do believe in miracles, Muhammad never performed any.
This created some doubts but they still had faith in Muhammad. Some great Islamic philosophers are
Ahmad and Yusif Ali Hammuda Abdalat. Like Christians, Muslims believe in moral absolutes.
However, these absolutes come from Muhammad and the Qur an (or Hadith), rather than Allah,
because Muslims believe that Allah cannot be known. To help Muslims follow moral obligations, they
follow the Five Pillars. Unlike Christians, Muslims are motivated to do good because of their fear of
judgement. Another similarity with Christians and Muslims is the belief that a god created the earth

For boys and girls alike, the initial trip to the potty (a bowl used by small children as a toilet) remains

Concentration Camp Research Paper
Bella Gonzalez Dina Hanna Daily Life in The Camps Life in a concentration camp was truly horrific,
as many are already aware. But we tend to overlook the small details about the daily lives of prisoners
that make the whole situation so much worse. The moment prisoners arrived at a concentration camp,
they were stripped of their names and possessions. They were all given a number, which was usually
tattooed on their wrists with sharp metal stamps . After this, their heads were shaved, and prisoners
were told that this was to prevent lice. Prisoners then received a black and white striped uniform, with
an identification emblem sewn on to the upper left side of their shirts and jackets. These badges were
colored inverted triangles, used to let officers know what offense the prisoners were placed in the
camp for. Immigrants triangles were blue, criminals were green, homosexuals were pink, political
prisoners were red, gypsies were brown, and Jehovah s Witnesses were purple. Jewish people had to
wear a yellow Star of David instead of an identification triangle, but if they were charged on more
than one offense, they would be made to wear a yellow triangle with a colored inverted triangle on top
of it, forming the Star of David, but also showing the other offense through the color coded ... Show

Arizona Recycling Benefits
Recycling Benefits: Proposing A Bottle Bill for Arizona
Recycling has had a large impact in our community over the past few decades. Rather than throwing
all our trash in the garbage can, we, as a community should continue to recycle as much as possible.
Not only does it cut down on litter, it can also add to our growing economy, cut down on pollution,
and save our raw materials. Arizona currently recycles about sixty percent of its beverage containers,
and because only a handful of cities have mandatory recycling programs they are the perfect candidate
to experiment with a new recycling program (Bottle deposit 2). I propose that the state of Arizona put
a bottle bill, similar to the one in Oregon, into action. All eleven states that ... Show more content on

For example, when a customer purchases a fifty cent can of Dr. Pepper from his/her local 7 11, s/he
would end up paying fifty five cents, which would include a five cent deposit. At any time after
consuming the thirst quenching beverage, the customer may return his/her can to any store for his/her
five cent refund. This definitely provides an incentive to recycle beverage containers. In fact, in a
recent survey I conducted on my plane trip home from Thanksgiving, consumers said they often feel
they are getting back free money for recycling. Either because they think of the price of the beverage
as fifty five cents, or because they wait until they have several bottles or cans to return making their
refund much larger than the original nickel they put down. The consumers are not the only ones who
benefit because the retailers in most states also get reimbursed for the extra labor involved. This basic
form of bottle bill is effective and very useful.
The Oregon bottle bill is also beneficial. Oregon s immensely popular bottle bill has been effective in
getting soft drink and beer cans and bottles off the roadways, and boosting recycling. Much of the law
s success is due to a system that is easily understood by consumers and manageable for merchants
(Bottle deposit 1). However, a few of the other eleven states have tried to add to the basic bill making
them confusing, more time

Tv Show Diversity
What really is considered too white? Why doesn t tv show more of a color diversity? Should television
even be used to demonstrate equality between whites and people of color? Although it may be true,
there are statically more white s than black s in the U.S. ranging from 75.1% to 12.3% according to
the Demographic Statistics. However as the years continue on, equality between African Americans
and whites are still being battled throughout the U.S. as African Americans are still being slandered

bad start to show how people of color and whites can actually get along on the big screen. On the year

Cycle Failure In James Joyce s Dubliners
Passing Down Failure Imagine living in a country that is stuck in the cycle failure and every
generation has no way out of it. In James Joyce s collection of short stories, Dubliners, Joyce
illustrates how the people of Dublin will never find success as each generation is oppressing the next.
Joyce uses individual short stories to show how characters of different lifestyles all face the same
struggles and warns how the cycle will continue on to the next generation. The use of short stories
gives the reader a look into the people of Dublin from multiple views which makes it clear how
Dublin is bound for failure as the cycle of failure is passed down without knowing it among families.
The cycle of life in Dublin begins with children, children face destended success the most, however
they have multiple generations above them who mimic their future failure. In the story A little Cloud ,
Little Chandler takes out his failure in life on his son. Chandler can not handle his struggles especially
those at home. Candler was a prisoner for life. (...) suddenly bending to the child s face he shouted:
Stop (Joyce 82). Little Chandler s life and success is halted by his child. His baby boy represents fresh
life in Dublin as the next generation starts to develop. Children in Dublin, especially Little Chandler s,
face responsibility for failing their parents generation as they there stop potential success. The cycle of
life is broken in Dublin as Little Chandler shouts at his son to

Scientific reports and discoveries always attract the media. Multiple cases have been turned into media
reports. One case is the issue that Smoking During Pregnancy Seems to Alter Fetal DNA . With this
case there are numerous reports written as well as scientific research. There is a very distinct
difference in news reports on the issue and actual scientists reporting their tests and hypotheses. In
order to understand the differences one must first consider the rhetorical model. The author s exigence

the issue. After taking the rhetorical model into consideration one can realize this issue is one of many

The reason for doing this is the news reporter s exigence, or reason for writing the article is to just
provide the public with a story and explain the most important details to try to get the public interested
in their stories. The news reporter also has a deeper exigence beyond just writing a story, the news
reporter gets paid accordingly to how popular their reports are, therefore in reality, news reporters
write to get paid, rather than to make a difference in the scientific community. The article goes on to
say that the research may help improve understanding , in this news report stating that it may help, just
provides the reader with the thought that the writer doesn t clearly know the findings just what they
have read on the issue, whereas the scientific report intelligibly states the facts because the news
reporter is in a discourse community of just writing and reporting, no scientifically based knowledge
is needed in their field, so reporters don t need to know much about what they are reporting on, as
long as they know the most important details.
There are other substantial contrasts between the two as well. In a news report the writer or reporter is
only skilled in the expertise of media and whatever path of schooling and research they took, in
contrast the scientist has an educational background and knows more about studies and science in
general. Therefore the scientist knows more about how

When considering what results in a higher magnitude bushfire, it is also important to consider the
longer term events leading up to the disaster. Figure 11 illustrates that the weather events that occurred
before leading up to Black Saturday can be strongly linked to the large amount of destruction caused.
From both figures, it can be noted that a wind change affected the path and development of fires. In
the case of Black Saturday, this extended the fire front, increasing the magnitude of the disaster. It is
believed that the wind change of the Crib Point fire helped to prevent a large amount of destruction in

The Last Dimension Of Wisdom
Wisdom Tradition is a term applied to the books in the Old Testament such as Proverbs, Job, Sirach,
Wisdom of Solomon, and Ecclesiastes. There are many different types of Wisdom Literature presented
in the Old Testament. The first type of wisdom literature is presented in Sirach, and that is practical
wisdom. Practical wisdom incorporates everyday life situations. The second type of Wisdom
Literature is theological. Theological is concerned about what Yahweh has done in the world. The last
dimension of wisdom literature is skeptical wisdom. Starting in chapter nine of Ecclesiastes, the title
start with no one knows. Ecclesiastes thinks it is important to question in order to mentally prepare us
in order to form our own opinion.
We can see many themes of women wisdom in Proverbs, especially chapter eight and nine. The first
thing one can notice about in the first couple of verses is naming wisdom a her. Wisdom is a her to
emphasize the struggle that women had during the Old testament. Women were viewed as subordinate
to men and how barely to no say in their freedom. Using her in the poetry, shows more of a image and
relatability. The whole passage is speaking about freedom and standing for what one believes in. Also
the imagery helps the reader to clearly understand the message. In verse eleven of Proverbs it says or
wisdom is more precious than rubies, and nothing you desire can compare with her. This metaphor
really shows the struggle and the importance of free will

struggles as a father and his comeback after being attacked by a bear and almost dying, losing his son,
and being left behind by his own men. In the end a Native American chief kills the man who killed
Glass s son. The last scene show Glass falling to his knees and seeing a vision of his dead wife

The movie also has merit because of the emotion that is displayed by the main characters during their
long and difficult journey throughout the movie. Overall, The Revenant was an emotional and
suspenseful journey through Hugh Glass s struggles as an American Frontiersman.
The connection to American culture is strong in this movie because of its setting and the characters
involved. The setting is in South Dakota and Montana. The time period is the winter of 1823, a
popular time for the American Frontier. Many of the scenes in the movie show extreme cold and lots
of snow. For example, when Hugh Glass is wounded and running from an Indian Tribe on a horse, he
jumps off a cliff with the horse. He then precedes to open the horse and gut it. Then he goes inside of
the horse and falls asleep. This horse s bodies saved him from the hearse cold that ended up freezing
the whole outside of the horse. To film this obscene cold, the movie was actually filmed in Calgary
and Alberta, Canada because their is more frontier like land up north in less developed and less

Symbolism In The Thief
The Thief and the Stalinist Period
As a movie depicting the Stalinist period, The Thief eloquently wrapped a historical and political
portrayal in an emotional journey of Sanya, Katya, and Tolyan. Some important aspects of the movie
that provide a strong nuance of the Stalinist era are the financial struggle among commoners, the
positive attitude towards Stalin, and the paternalistic emphasis. Additionally, some indirect symbolism
in the movie may portray the relationship between Stalin and Russians during the Stalinist period.
Financial struggle was the emphasis early in the movie, portraying how difficult life could be during
the Stalinist period. In the beginning of the movie, Katya gave birth to Sanya. While this might
symbolize the start of Sanya s story and life, the scene also signified how the lack of wealth made pain
and suffering dominate the life of the characters.
As the movie continued, this hardship seemed to permeate into the life ... Show more content on

Moving beyond the storyline, The Thief offered three main characters that could represent the Russian
society in the Stalinist period by through their images and attitudes. Aside from retelling a story of
fatherhood, The Thief indirectly symbolized the legacy of Stalin with its political failure and
destructive impacts (Gillespie 75).
To summarize, The Thief can symbolize Stalinist era in two ways. Using the values portrayed in the
movie, it showed the significance of financial struggle, Stalin s popularity, and paternalistic views
during the Stalinist period. Additionally, it can also represent the complicated relationship between
Stalin and the Russian people using the views and behaviors of its main characters: Tolyan, Sanya, and

Short Essay On The Impact Of Technology On Education
Today, it is easier than ever to access information. If one can read and has access to the Internet, he or
she has virtually all of mankind s knowledge at his or her fingertips, whereas only a generation ago,
one would need to go to the library if he or she wanted to learn new information. It seems that people
today take this privilege for granted, not realizing that the ability to look up on a search engine the
average height of a giraffe, for example, would have been highly coveted only fifty years ago. People
can get knowledge with less effort today, but perhaps the wide variety of sources we have access to
presents a new set of challenges. While knowledge was a coveted resource in the past, perhaps the
ability to choose the most credible source when given a wide range of options to choose from is more
coveted today and in the future. Modern technology has vastly impacted the way people participate in
school, their community, and the world at large.
Modern technology is both a hindrance and a help on a student s education. In any given classroom,
one can often find students stealthily texting their friends or scrolling through Facebook on their
cellphones. Students are fascinated by the shiny pieces of technology in their pockets, especially when
the teacher is talking about something with which they are not particularly fascinated. Although
technology can detract from the learning experience, it can also add to it. Speaking from experience, I
am not sure how I would have written my eleventh grade research paper without the Internet. My
research paper had many sources, only two of which were physical books. The Internet gave me
access to information that the library simply did not have. While it has distracted many students
(including myself) from school, it is also an essential resource for many students schoolwork.
Similar to how it affects school, technology can both inhibit and assist participation in a community.
Anyone who has ever attempted to hold a conversation with someone on their cellphone has
experienced how it inhibits participation. It seems that technology has become an escape from the real
world for many people. While modern technology can serve to distract people from those in their

Language Between Language And Language
Language arose out of a need to communicate ideas and commands. Initially it was very basic, but in
its current form language is very complex. It a adapted to the changing need of speakers. In this sense,
language is a living entity which evolves in response to the changing cultural context in which it
exists. Because language evolves in response to culture, the full quality of its meaning is derived from
understanding the context in which it takes place. Educators must be aware of the sociocultural nature
of language, understanding that language cannot be viewed as stagnant or removed from its context.
This has implications for the ways that educators think about, understand and teach language, so that
students have an appreciation for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although language today can be seen as far more complex than in the past, due to the growing number
of cultural factors influencing it, language has been a social and cultural phenomenon since its
inception.
The development of language overtime illustrates the relationship between language and culture. To
have a holistic appreciation for language and meaning, this relationship must be understood. It is
likely that all human languages developed from one single language (Gee Hayes, 2011). As human
moved, language developed in relation to the different cultures as they inherited and this led to the
creation of the 6,500 languages that exist today, which does not include those which no longer exist
(Gee Hayes, 2011). Cultural influence has not only been responsible for the creation of different
languages, but has also created differences among the same language within different places. English
for example exits in many different forms around the world. The variances in Englishes began to
emerge as a result of colonisation. The colonization of America for example, led to the creation of
American English, a transformation which took only weeks, as American settlers had to evolve the
language to adapt to their new experiences, which British English could not accommodate as the
culture in England did not include these American specific experiences and ideas (Crystal, 2013).
Variations in language are specific to certain contexts. Understanding language requires

Equality Between African Americans And Women Essay
Equality as defined by the Merriam Webster dictionary, is the quality or state of being equal : the
quality or state of having the same rights, social status, etc. This nation was founded on three main
principles, which were liberty, freedom, and equality. Though our country has struggled on many
occasions to maintain each of these principles, the hardest one to maintain seems to be that of equality.
Every human being has a desire to be seen as equal, its basic human nature. We seek equality in every
aspect of our lives, whether it is the equality of religion, race, social class, or even gender. The
inhabitants of this nation have fought for and over equality since its foundation. Throughout this paper
I would like to delve into the written works of two great minds that strove to gain equal rights for both
African Americans and women. These two individuals took it upon themselves to achieve the
seemingly impossible, and our nation is a better place due to their desire to seek change where change
was needed. Abraham Lincoln and Elizabeth Stanton used their speeches and written works to fuel
changes in this nation that are still seen today, and I can wholeheartedly say that this nation is a better
place due to their desires to seek justice for those who were not given a voice to help themselves. This
paper will show how Lincoln and Stanton used their writings to open the eyes of this nation to the
injustices that were being shown to not only women and African Americans, but

Although several Houston neighborhoods living below the poverty line came to mind, I treated this
decision like a scientist would, I relied on research. I discovered 130 key indicators of poverty as
presented in the Growing Up in Houston 2012 2014 edition. I narrowed those down to the five
indicators I believe would most identify the areas that both needed Seasonal Harvest and would be
receptive to the idea if given the information. I looked at infant mortality rates, the number of
uninsured children, family annual income, education level of parents, and the number of free lunch
program recipients. I then compared those indicators to the neighborhood specific indexes provided by
the website, City Data to determine the neighborhoods that the company would pilot in. After looking

Kashmere Gardens, Trinity Gardens, and Sunnyside with an average income of $26,419.00. These
neighborhoods also have a high population of people with less than a high school education (45%),

the issue of national security through the press. It became illegal to falsify reports to aid an enemy,

I Heard A Fly Buzz When I Died, By Emily Dickinson
Emily Dickinson was and is one of the most prominent, female lyric poets. A recluse for nearly her
entire life, Dickinson had plenty of time to become the distinguished prolific poet she is commonly
recognized as being in present day. Dickinson wrote hundreds upon hundreds of brilliant poems in her
lifetime, but I Heard a Fly Buzz When I Died stands out as unique among them all. The speaker s
point of view coming from an after death perspective is but one of the many details that makes this
poem so intricately distant from the rest. Along with that detail, Dickinson uses multiple other poetic
devices, like similes, metaphors, and personification, to develop her viewpoint of life surrounding
death, establishing an overarching theme of death being simple. As alluded to in the poem, Faith is
fine a invention , Dickinson had a wary conception of the afterlife and spirituality in general.
Furthermore, descriptions of Dickinson portray her as a consistent agnostic, although she was also
described as being heavily influenced by Puritan religious beliefs. Through this character trait readers
can begin to develop the background story behind I Heard a Fly Buzz When I Died as well as begin to
understand how Dickinson s viewpoints on faith and death could have helped shaped the poem in it s
entirety. Within the very first line of the poem, readers are already asked to question the importance of
a fly s presence juxtaposed to the death of the speaker. In this opening line the

By the age of 21 the Pope had experienced great loss with the deaths of all the immediate members of
his family.
His mother died when he was only 8 years old, his elder brother, a doctor, when he was 12 and his
father when he was just 21. His father had dreamed of seeing his son enter the priesthood, but
unfortunately he did not live to see him become a priest.
As a schoolboy the Pope was an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During this time he participated in the second Vatican Council making contributions to the documents
that were the result of this Council.
On October 16th 1978 at the relatively young age of 58, Karol Wojtyla was elected Pope. He took the
name John Paul, after his predecessor who had died suddenly after only 33 days in office. He was an
unexpected choice. He was the first non Italian Pope in over 450 years, and he came from a
Communist country.
He said I was afraid to receive this nomination. But I did it in the spirit of obedience to Our Lord and
in the total confidence in His mother, the most holy Madonna . The Pope saw himself as the Servant of
the Servants of God and did away with much of the pomp and ceremony the office had previously
held.
In his 26 years as Pope he travelled widely visiting the Catholic Church s faithful followers all over
the world he visited many countries that had never had a Pope visit. His visits always attracted large
crowds. In 1995 while in the Philippines he said mass for a crowd of over 4 million.
One of his earliest visits was to his homeland Poland. His visit caused embarrassment for the
Communist authorities as Poland was officially atheist at that time, yet millions turned up to see the
Pope. He reminded his fellow Poles of their human rights and inspired the Polish Solidarity Union to
stand up to the Communist authorities. The Pope was instrumental in bringing about the collapse of

Emerson s View Of Nature
Recaptured innocence is another aspect of man s relationship with nature, which coincides with truth.
Emerson s The Method of Nature , states: Shall we not quit our companions, and betake. . . .some
unvisited recess in Moosehead Lake, to bewail our innocency and recover it, and with it the power to
communicate again with these sharers of a more sacred idea. He continues: Let us worship the mighty
and transcendent Soul. . . . Truth is always holy, holiness is wise. . . . Tenderly, tenderly they woo and
court us from every object in nature, from every fact in life, from every thought in the mind. The one
condition coupled to the gift of truth is its use. . . .Emanuel Swedenborg affirmed that it was opened to
him, that the spirits who knew ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This fact, as far as it symbolizes the moral fact of the Unattainable, the flying Perfect, around which
the hands of man can never meet. . . . To Emerson, the fluidness of his surroundings meant Nature is a
continuous expression of the spirit. Thoreau continues the same idea in The Pond in Winter : After a
still winter night I awoke with the impression that some question had been put to me, which I had
been endeavoring in vain to answer in my sleep, as what, how, when, where? But there was dawning
Nature, in whom all creatures live, looking in at my broad windows with serene and satisfied face, and
no question on her lips. I awoke to an answered question to nature and daylight. The answer was there
is no answer just open your eyes to see what Nature reveals to you day after day! He continues this
idea of not really wanting to know all of nature s laws: Our notions of law and harmony are commonly
confined to those instances we detect; but the harmony results from a far greater number of seemingly
conflicting, but really concurring, laws, which we have not detected, is still more

Personality Analysis Of Stephanie Tanner In Full House And...
This character personality analysis analyzes the character of Stephanie Tanner from the prominent
television shows Full House and Fuller House with Erik Erikson s eight stages theory, which consists
of eight stages that a person goes through from infancy to adulthood that positively or negatively
effect personality development. This analysis specifically uses stages four, five, and six to apply to
Stephanie Tanner, as stages before or after are not able to be completed with present knowledge about
the character. The paper begins with an explanation of the eight stages theory, and then goes on to
apply the stages to Stephanie Tanner.

In this stage, children enter school, and their teacher becomes an important figure in their lives.
During this stage, the child s peer group, such as their classmates, becomes much more significant,
and the child begins to feel the need to win approval by displaying typical abilities that society
constructs. If the child is encouraged in their initiative attempts, they develop a stronger sense of
confidence in their ability to achieve set goals, but if the child is unable to develop the set skill, they
begin to feel inferior.
The fifth stage is the identity versus role confusion stage, in which adolescents search for a sense of
self and personal identity through exploration of personal values and goals. This stages represents the
transition from childhood to adulthood. Erikson claims that two separate identities are connected with
this stage: the sexual and the occupational. Failure to create a sense of identity during this stage can
lead to role confusion.
The sixth stage is the intimacy versus isolation stage, which occurs in young adulthood. During this
stage, people begin to venture into more serious and long term relationships. If the completion of this
stage is successful, a sense of commitment and safety are achieved, while if the completion of this
stage is unsuccessful, a sense of isolation and loneliness can

  • 2. Federal Budget Definition The Federal Budget What exactly establishes the federal budget? Just as it takes money to run a household, it takes money to run the government. Like people, the government also makes choices about how to spend its money. Each year, the President and Congress have an official back and forth process of deciding what next year s budget should be. All the government agencies and departments submit a budget request explaining how much money is a necessity. The president makes a list of his own spending priorities, and so does the Congress. They debate, consult, and finally compromise to form a budget that says how much money each entitlement program will receive. The Post Classical Era During the Post Classical Era, from 600 CE to 1450 CE, new empires rose through the combination of aspects such as social structure and religion from the classical era and globalization as well as expansion of religious and technological ideas from the modern era in order to form the Post Classical Era. Trade took on new roles through connecting areas and spreading goods, ideas, and disease. Ideas that were often spread was religion, such as Islam and Buddhism, thus leading to global awareness and conflict. Though Post Classical Mesoamerica was not included in the global trade route linking Eurasia and Africa, Mesoamerica still enjoyed its own advances during this time period. Through the Post Classical Era, Mesoamerica continued to celebrate religion because of its combination with everyday life, however they began trading because of the introduction of conquest, and developed farming techniques that played roles in trade and religion. During the Post Classical Era, civilizations in Mesoamerica continued to practice polytheism because of its connection with everyday life. In contrast to the monotheistic gods of Eurasia and Africa, Mesoamerica continued to worship multiple gods that represented natural phenomena because of their lack of need for reform. It can also be a potent energy source and a potential indicator of life or life like activity. NASA uses the Open Path Laser Spectrometer with the drones to detect methane gas leaks large and small (Atherton, 2016). 2.) Electric drones are often limited to just 20 minutes of air time before they have to land and get new batteries, or wait for the old batteries to charge. With hydrogen fuel cells, a commercial, electric drone could spend up to two hours hanging in the sky, be refueled almost instantly after landing, and then take another 120 minutes in the air. This flying contraption is the result of Intelligent Energy, who attached a hydrogen fuel cell to a DJI Matrice 100 quadcopter. Reggae Drumming Essay Discuss the theoretical and technical concepts of reggae drumming, with reference to its historical context (500 600 words) Reggae is a music style (genre) which developed in the Caribbean (Jamaica) in the late 60s, which originated from the development of Ska and Rocksteady . Reggae is recognized worldwide by the rhythmic accents provided from the off beat pattern (usually played by the guitar or piano) it is also known as the Skank . This pattern accents the 2nd and 4th beat in each bar (or on the amp; of each beat all depending on how the music/ piece is counted) and combines with the drum that emphasises on beat 3 creating a unique feel. (Usually on the snare, or a rim shot combined with the bass drum). Bob Marley One Drop is a perfect example of this beat Rockers : Another style of drumming is called Rockers which was invented by the Drum and Bass duo (Sly and Robbie). This style emphasises on the bass drum being played on the 1st and 3rd beat instead of just the 3rd alone. Steppers : The last common reggae drumming style is called Steppers . This is when the beat includes the bass drum hit on all 4 quarter notes, creating a stronger driving pulse. This style has a stronger sound than Rockers with an even stronger beat. It is probably the most simple of the beats. Its defining characteristics are a solid 1 2 3 4 of the bass drum. Or, why don t they get a job? This is the problem with society today; the different levels of the class structure have grown so far apart from one another they cannot even relate to one another. People look down on the poor as unmotivated and lazy when, in fact, it is not their fault, but the fault of a society that does not value people of wage labor. In our society today poverty is a never ending cycle that feeds off itself, making the rich richer and the poor poorer. The problem with poverty is more deeply rooted than just the decision to attend school. Poverty also is a factor of something the poor have absolutely no control over, the redistribution or dispersion of money. This is the deciding factor in how the classes are formed. If the government does not redistribute the wealth evenly throughout the class system, gaps appear. This is exactly what is happening in today s society. Under the new policies of our president the richest one percent have taken a 25 percent income tax cut while the poorest 20 percent have taken a 1.2 percent tax cut (Bush Tax Cut Plan). It is said that the rich will spend their money on goods and services throughout the economy, essentially trickling down or giving the money to the poor through businesses, but it has not worked to date. From this theory we find that the cycle continues; the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. So where does all this tax money go; shouldn t it be given back to the poor? In the poor s eyes, yes it should, but in the rich people s eyes, no it shouldn t and so it does not. Sure, the government puts some taxes towards welfare, but, in fact, roughly 38 percent of the federal income goes right to the military cause (War Resisters League). Only about 30 percent of the federal income is spent on human resources such as welfare and medicare. The money that can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Even more impressive still, is Dr. Reemtsma s transplanted kidneys which survived nine months. It is effortless to see the rapid progression of success with these first three operations. The first kidney survived four days, the second survived sixty days; and the third survived nine months. If it is possible for a baboon kidney to live in a human for nine months, then it is feasible that a kidney could survive for a year or five years and some day tens of years. Surgeons, like everybody else, learn from their mistakes and build on their past experiences in order to advance their knowledge in their field. To determine your worldview, you must ask yourself a few questions. Some of these questions include: Who is God? Where did I come from? Why do I exist? What is my purpose in life? Answers in Genesis defines a worldview as the overall perspective from which one sees and interprets the world. A worldview is a collection of beliefs about life and the universe held by an individual or a group. [1] To make this definition easier to understand, I ll use an analogy. But we tend to overlook the small details about the daily lives of prisoners that make the whole situation so much worse. The moment prisoners arrived at a concentration camp, they were stripped of their names and possessions. They were all given a number, which was usually tattooed on their wrists with sharp metal stamps . After this, their heads were shaved, and prisoners were told that this was to prevent lice. Prisoners then received a black and white striped uniform, with an identification emblem sewn on to the upper left side of their shirts and jackets. These badges were colored inverted triangles, used to let officers know what offense the prisoners were placed in the camp for. Immigrants triangles were blue, criminals were green, homosexuals were pink, political prisoners were red, gypsies were brown, and Jehovah s Witnesses were purple. Jewish people had to wear a yellow Star of David instead of an identification triangle, but if they were charged on more than one offense, they would be made to wear a yellow triangle with a colored inverted triangle on top of it, forming the Star of David, but also showing the other offense through the color coded ... • 16. Arizona Recycling Benefits Recycling Benefits: Proposing A Bottle Bill for Arizona Recycling has had a large impact in our community over the past few decades. Rather than throwing all our trash in the garbage can, we, as a community should continue to recycle as much as possible. Not only does it cut down on litter, it can also add to our growing economy, cut down on pollution, and save our raw materials. Arizona currently recycles about sixty percent of its beverage containers, and because only a handful of cities have mandatory recycling programs they are the perfect candidate to experiment with a new recycling program (Bottle deposit 2). For example, when a customer purchases a fifty cent can of Dr. Pepper from his/her local 7 11, s/he would end up paying fifty five cents, which would include a five cent deposit. At any time after consuming the thirst quenching beverage, the customer may return his/her can to any store for his/her five cent refund. This definitely provides an incentive to recycle beverage containers. In fact, in a recent survey I conducted on my plane trip home from Thanksgiving, consumers said they often feel they are getting back free money for recycling. Either because they think of the price of the beverage as fifty five cents, or because they wait until they have several bottles or cans to return making their refund much larger than the original nickel they put down. The consumers are not the only ones who benefit because the retailers in most states also get reimbursed for the extra labor involved. This basic form of bottle bill is effective and very useful. The Oregon bottle bill is also beneficial. Oregon s immensely popular bottle bill has been effective in getting soft drink and beer cans and bottles off the roadways, and boosting recycling. Much of the law s success is due to a system that is easily understood by consumers and manageable for merchants (Bottle deposit 1). In James Joyce s collection of short stories, Dubliners, Joyce illustrates how the people of Dublin will never find success as each generation is oppressing the next. Joyce uses individual short stories to show how characters of different lifestyles all face the same struggles and warns how the cycle will continue on to the next generation. The use of short stories gives the reader a look into the people of Dublin from multiple views which makes it clear how Dublin is bound for failure as the cycle of failure is passed down without knowing it among families. The cycle of life in Dublin begins with children, children face destended success the most, however they have multiple generations above them who mimic their future failure. If one can read and has access to the Internet, he or she has virtually all of mankind s knowledge at his or her fingertips, whereas only a generation ago, one would need to go to the library if he or she wanted to learn new information. It seems that people today take this privilege for granted, not realizing that the ability to look up on a search engine the average height of a giraffe, for example, would have been highly coveted only fifty years ago. People can get knowledge with less effort today, but perhaps the wide variety of sources we have access to presents a new set of challenges. While knowledge was a coveted resource in the past, perhaps the ability to choose the most credible source when given a wide range of options to choose from is more coveted today and in the future. Modern technology has vastly impacted the way people participate in school, their community, and the world at large. Modern technology is both a hindrance and a help on a student s education. In any given classroom, one can often find students stealthily texting their friends or scrolling through Facebook on their cellphones. Students are fascinated by the shiny pieces of technology in their pockets, especially when the teacher is talking about something with which they are not particularly fascinated. This alarm has helped us detect failing valves. Additionally, the OH model was modified so that turbo temperatures are reduced when a turbo reaches OH set point. This has prevented small production upsets from getting worse due to over hydrolyzed dope. • 44. I Heard A Fly Buzz When I Died, By Emily Dickinson Emily Dickinson was and is one of the most prominent, female lyric poets. A recluse for nearly her entire life, Dickinson had plenty of time to become the distinguished prolific poet she is commonly recognized as being in present day. Dickinson wrote hundreds upon hundreds of brilliant poems in her lifetime, but I Heard a Fly Buzz When I Died stands out as unique among them all. The speaker s point of view coming from an after death perspective is but one of the many details that makes this poem so intricately distant from the rest. Along with that detail, Dickinson uses multiple other poetic devices, like similes, metaphors, and personification, to develop her viewpoint of life surrounding death, establishing an overarching theme of death being simple. As alluded to in the poem, Faith is fine a invention , Dickinson had a wary conception of the afterlife and spirituality in general. Furthermore, descriptions of Dickinson portray her as a consistent agnostic, although she was also described as being heavily influenced by Puritan religious beliefs. Through this character trait readers can begin to develop the background story behind I Heard a Fly Buzz When I Died as well as begin to understand how Dickinson s viewpoints on faith and death could have helped shaped the poem in it s entirety. Within the very first line of the poem, readers are already asked to question the importance of a fly s presence juxtaposed to the death of the speaker. In this opening line the ...
