The skeletal system interacts with other body systems like the muscular and nervous systems. For example, muscles work with bones to allow movement and protect organs. Maintaining health of the musculoskeletal system through diet and exercise is important for overall homeostasis of the body. Diseases like arthritis and osteoporosis can result from lack of exercise or poor nutrition.
