Marking of Hazardous Waste Containers label
Responsibility of Hazardous Waste Generator
The generator of hazardous waste shall ensure that wastes
are packaged in a manner suitable for safe handling, storage
and transport and material used for packaging shall withstand
physical conditions and climatic factors.
Dissimilar wastes shall not be collected in the same
container. Wastes shall be segregated and packed
separately. This is necessary to ensure that each waste finds
its way to the right disposal point.
Responsibility of Stores
Stores shall ensure the proper disposal of the following Hazardous
Wastes.
Category No. – 5.1, 5.2 & 33.1
Stores shall ensure that the external party to whom used oil /Waste oil is
disposed has got valid authorization from State and Central Pollution
Control Boards.
Responsibility of Engineering
Engineering department shall hand over the Exhaust Air or Gas cleaning
residue from Boiler chimney to EHS Department.

Responsibility of EHS
EHS shall ensure the Collection / Treatment / Storage / Transport and
Disposal of following Hazardous Wastes
Category No. – 28.1, 28.4, 28.5, 35.1 & 35.3
EHS officer shall receive the HZW along with the Forms and
segregate the same by category.
After verification of proper packaging and labeling the EHS officer
shall issue the serial no for tracking
These hazardous wastes shall be defoiled, crushed and stored
separately for disposal in the hazardous waste storage room.
Hazardous waste disposal log shall be updated upon receiving,
crushing and disposal of hazardous waste then and there.
EHS is responsible for receiving the following Hazardous wastes
1. Residual analysed samples from QC of Raw materials, In Process,
Finished products, Stability.
2. Expired Control samples from QC of Raw materials / Finished
products.
3. Process residue from Production department.
4. Non-conforming products from Production department.
5. Dust collector / dry scrubber Powder from Engineering department.
6. Expired raw materials from Stores.
7. Expired analytical reagents from Stores / QC.
8. Expired finished goods from BSR.
9. Rejected material from FG Stores.
10. Recalled material from FG Stores.
11. Rejected material from Process Optimization.

EHS officer shall verify the tablet, capsule are defoiled from strips/blisters.
EHS officer shall conduct the crushing activity using a cadmill connected with dust
collector system
EHS officer shall ensure that the transporter is accompanied with Six copies (with color
codes) of the manifest (Form 10) and TREM Card as per Hazardous Wastes
(Management, Handling and Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2016.
EHS head shall the check Hazardous Waste disposal takes place as per the
Hazardous Wastes (Management, Handling and Transboundary Movement) Rules,
2016 and the same shall be verified by Head QA.
Seven- color manifest system
Copy 1 (White) To be forwarded to TNPCB by occupier
Copy 2 (Yellow) To be signed by the transporter and retained by the occupier.
Copy 3 (Pink) To be retained by the operator of the facility.
Copy 4 (Orange)
To be returned to the transporter by the operator of the facility
after accepting Waste.
Copy 5 (Green)
To be forwarded to the TNPCB/TNWML by the operator of the
facility after disposal.
Copy 6 (Blue)
To be returned to the occupier by the operator of the facility
after disposal.
