Benefits Of Electronic Medical Record
Introduction
There are many benefits of using electronic medical record (EMR). This paper will discuss the
benefits of electronic medical record for the physicians, patients, and the healthcare organizations.
Benefits of EMR for Physicians There are so many benefits for physicians to use electronic medical
record, for example, they can eliminate a tremendous amount of paperwork since most of their
charting is done on the computer. Another advantage of using electronic medical record is the fact that
it allows for easy transfer of data or information to other departments or medical providers. This
ability of the electronic medical record helps to eliminate errors, it also less time consuming and it
prevents physicians and patients from repeating the same test. It also helps to prevent patients from
over exposing their body to unnecessary radiation. It is also important to note that healthcare
insurance is also enjoying this feature of the electronic medical record since they are saving money
whereby they will not have to pay for duplicate testing. The electronic medical record being able to
transfer patients data and information from one provider to the next is important since it allows
collaborations among various departments and healthcare facilities, also, physicians do not have to
worry about paperwork being misplaced or misfiled. Most patients find themselves at some time or
another gone to another healthcare facility that is not affiliated with their current

How Cellphones Have Become An Important Part Of Our Daily...
Cellphones have become an important part of our daily lives. They connect us to others and have
revolutionized the world we live in from social interaction apps like Tinder to a GPS that will take you
wherever one needs to go. One large competitor growing in this industry is Apple. They have reached
more than 700 million people worldwide with their product, the iPhone (Tofel 2015): a milestone that
may not have been possible without mastering the art of the global supply chain. The path to the
creation of the iPhone is not as simple as the phone itself. It requires many pieces which all do not
easily come from the same place. Professor Rivoli s book Travels of a T Shirt in the Global Economy
spoke of the line between passion and reason. Through passion an iPhone was created but at what cost
or for what reason? This is about the path taken to create a product that over 700 million people
marvel about.
For Apple, the iPhone starts on the drawing boards of engineers in California. It initially started in
2007 as a phone well ahead others in technology. But what separated the iPhone from competition was
its design characteristics of simplicity, functionality, and sleek design. Today we are on the 6th
generation of the popular device. Not too much has drastically changed from the original design,
primarily technology tweaks to improve its performance. Once new modifications have been
completed, the plans are sent to Foxconn and Pegatron to be assembled in China (Rudy Media 2014).

Essay on Deforestation
Deforestation is a major global problem with serious consequences to the planet. These consequences
have a negative effect on the climate, biodiversity, the atmosphere and threatens the cultural and
physical survival of life. Deforestation is the permanent destruction of indigenous forests and
woodlands. It has resulted in the reduction of indigenous forests to four fifths of their pre agricultural
area, so that now indigenous forests cover only 21% of the earth s land surface. The world Resources
Institute regards deforestation as one of the worlds most pressing land use problem. It is now so bad
that every minute an area of forest equal to 20 football fields is lost.

Logging tropical hardwoods like teak, mahogany, rosewood and other timber for furniture, building
materials, charcoal and other wood products is big business and creates big profits. Several species of
tropical hardwoods are imported by developed counties, including America, just to build coffins which
are then buried or burned. The demand, extraction and consumption of tropical hardwoods has been so
massive that some countries which have been traditional exporters of tropical hardwoods are now
importing the wood because they have already exhausted their supply by destroying their native
rainforests in slash and burn operations. It is anticipated that The Philippines, Malaysia, The Ivory
Coast, Nigeria and Thailand will all run out of rainforest hardwood for export within the next five
years.
In addition to logging for exportation, rainforest wood stays in developing countries for fuel wood and
charcoal. One single steel plant in Brazil making steel for Japanese cars needs millions of tons of
wood each year to produce charcoal that can be used in the manufacture of steel. Then there is the
paper industry. A pulpwood project in the Brazilian Amazon consists of a Japanese power plant and
pulp mill. To set up this single plant operation, 5,600 square miles of Amazon Rainforest was burned
to the ground and replanted

Film Analysis Of swallowtail Butterfly
In this paper, I ll mainly focus on movie Swallowtail Butterfly (1996) and discuss it from three
perspectives: its artistic filming style and techniques, passive kokusaika and it influenced by exotic
culture. Despite some similarities with other movies, Swallowtail Butterfly is trying to set itself apart
from convention by highlighting its unique artistic value and presenting unconventional perspective of
a trendy topic. If I regard the appreciation of Swallowtail Butterfly as an evolutionary process, the first
thing I realize might be its very artistic filming style. Shunji Iwai adopts some film techniques which
often appear in the movies of 6th generation directors. But unlike 6th generation directors who
constantly pursue realism in their movie, by the use of color, music and composition, Shunji Iwai
injects considerable artistic value into this movie and he makes use of the artistic value to achieve an
utopian vision of Yen Town. The artistic filming style and utopian vision of Yen Town There is a series
of scenes depicting their seemingly utopian life in Blue Sky after accidentally causing the death of
Suto (45:00). They are collecting reusable garbage in the waste yard; Arrow is teaching Ageha boxing;
Feihong, Glico and Ageha accidentally find a piano in the waste yard; Ageha and Glico laugh, sing
and play piano on the truck. First of all, the scene is just so beautiful and dreamlike. Even though

The Economic Position On The Business Cycle
he business cycle, also known as the trade cycle, is defined as the fluctuation in economic activity that
an economy experiences over a period of time (SOURCE). Basically, the trade cycle is the alternating
cyclical movement of economic conditions; phasing through periods of expansion, peaks,
contractions, troughs and recoveries. Predicting the whereabouts of a nation and its economy on the
trade cycle is a very important challenge; as the determination of current and forecasted economic
conditions allows governments, firms and households alike to navigate the economy and prepare for
future issues. In today s article, the Australian economic position on the business cycle will be
forecasted using a range of different reports, models and economic criterion. THE REPORTS Current
reports, experts and articles all indicate that conditions of the global economy are currently very poor.
Looking past a number of singularities and minor issues, most reports point towards three main
economic issues as the cause of the weak worldwide markets; poor productivity in China, recent
slumps in the value of commodities, and minimal investor confidence. This section will analyse
exactly what these issues are, how they are effecting the global economy and what impact they have
on Australia.
Starting with China, the Motley Fool recently reported that falls in the level of productivity and
economic movement in the country resulted in a worldwide reduction of foreign trade and investment.

Type a Personality Essay
In this thesis I am going to write about my own personality and the associated traits which come with
my personality type. I m going to consider if also if I m type A, B, or C. also if I m extrovert or
introvert, plus the traits which come in between those levels of personality. I also need to consider if I
have an abnormal personality and its origins i.e) psychodynamic, behavioural, cognitive or
humanistic. Personality A is a very strong and bold personality to own. This is typically related to a
person with a chronic sense of time and ergency, meaning where ever they go they always need to be
on time. A person that has an excessive competitive drive, and is very aggressive and hostile towards
others. This person is always setting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I also see my self as very active and fit, plus the active side of me has always been part of my lifestyle.
The next trait that fits me too is sociable. This means, inclined to or conducive to companionship with
others. This fits me because with the right people I m very sociable, talking and joking with people I
mainly know. But with like all people with the wrong company you don t feel like associating with
them mainly because of dislike or hatred. Outgoing is the next trait, this means that you are very
sociable and very confident, again I m totally this, with the right people, I have a very out going life
which I use this trait every day at home and at college. Talkative is another trait which matches my
personality, this again means, full of trivial conversation, this is me because I can talk even if there is
no real subject on the conversation, this is due to friends and family too, because there is never a quiet
moment. Another trait is responsive, this again means sensitive to influence or stimulus, this also can
mean you can well adapt to what happening around you, this is me because if the mood is down I can
sense that and switch down a level, or if I need to be in a such mood like sympathetic I can again
switch to that too. This trait easy going means that you are

The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow Essay
It was, as I have said, a fine autumnal day; the sky was clear and serene, and nature wore that rich and
golden livery which we always associate with the idea of abundance. The forests had put on their
sober brown and yellow, while some trees of the tenderer kind had been nipped by the frosts into
brilliant dyes of orange, purple, and scarlet.
In Washington Irving The Legend of sleepy Hollow, setting, characterization, and Irony affect the
protagonist in several ways. The night setting is important because it further emphasizes the
superstitious theme. A somnolent, illusory effect appears to be dangling around the surrounding, and
to spread through the air (Irving). This passage shows, for instance, some of the villagers believe that
the town was bewitched by a German doctor. The villagers frequently hear voices, strange music and
see strange sights. Not to mention the hessian trooper ghost that haunts the valleys. It is said that
during the Revolutionary war his head was carried away by a cannon ball and that he rides on a haunt
for his head. These superstitions tales of the town make the villagers afraid of the headless horseman.
All things considered, most of the villagers were terrified of the many supernatural stories they heard
and also terror stuck about the headless horseman.
The time period in which the story took place is important because of the war. From the lifeless
inactivity of the atmosphere, and the unusual persona of its residents who are ancestors

Contribute to Raising Awareness of Health Issues
1.1 Analyse reasons why it may be necessary to raise awareness of health issues.
To protect the health, safety and wellbeing of everyone I care for. By ensuring that I identify health
issues early I am able to inform the relevant people quickly and that will hopefully prevent the health
issues getting worse, meaning that their health, safety, wellbeing and quality of life is improved and
maintained as much as possible. It is also important to raise awareness to comply with company
policies and legislation.
1.2 Compare the roles of agencies and others who may be involved in raising awareness of health

2.3 Review with others the demand for and interest in raising awareness of a particular health issue.
At regular resident meeting we discuss a range of topics and the residents say what they want in the
way of activates, dinner and other things. During this discussion we may talk about health issues and
possible ways of dealing with them. Also I have general talks with management and colleagues and
we discuss our feeling regarding raising awareness or if we may need extra training in certain areas.
3.1 Contribute to agreeing roles and responsibilities within a team planning awareness raising
activities/3.2 Work with the team to plan a set of activities to raise awareness about a health issue.
When carrying out a awareness raising activities me and my colleagues would discuss what points we
need to cover and each would carry out major research, when we are doing the activity one person
would be the main talker and others would assist and interrupt where necessary. When anyone
identifies a health issue it is their responsibility to report it and document it where necessary. When an
activity has taken part everyone whom has been involved in that activity would document it in the
individuals care plan always ensuring that they do so in neat writing, signing and dating everything
and completing with facts only.

Life Science Controversy
After reading the chapter and reflecting on this topic, I felt more panicked than before thinking deeply
into this topic. Life science curriculum is filled with controversial topics ranging from evolution to
climate change to GMO s to vaccines to human impacts on the Earth. Teaching these topics are
essential to building both the science literacy and the environmental literacy that I am passionate for in
students; however, the methodology used is complicated, muddy and stressful. Kunkle and Monroe
(2015) recommended seven key suggestions to teaching controversial topics: knowing your audience,
framing information, avoiding the overuse of emotional appeals, making behavior change easier,

4), instead of the teach the controversy approach. Misconception based instruction acknowledges and
explains the controversy, and recognizes the differences between social and scientific controversy
(para. 5). Furthermore, Cook found research that indicated the negative impacts of presenting both
sides of scientific debates. He highlights climate changes through his examples because it s common
to promote the lack of scientific consensus on climate change, which is not recognized by most
scientists. In using misconception based instruction, teaching just the scientific facts is not the only
route to education; instead, the scientific concepts are presented along with refuting common
misconceptions regarding the scientific topics. Critical thinking is important and teaching students to
evaluate information or sources is even more important; however, learning is also about presenting
new information and fitting this new knowledge into the existing mental models students have
(Kunkle Monroe, 2015, p. 153). This is the struggle how do students reconfigure their mental models

Surveillance And Surveillance Throughout The Book,...
Surveillance is a continuous close observation of a person. Surveillance plays a key part in the book,
Villette by Charlotte Bronte. In Villette, Bronte is focusing on a specific character, Lucy Snowe.
Throughout the book Lucy is telling us about her life story while surveillance appears throughout. The
focus of this paper is on how surveillance changes over the course of Lucy s life. Lucy s opinion of
surveillance changes over time because of her age, the people who come in and out of her life, and
when she realizes she is the one being watched by different characters. In Villette, Lucy is telling us
about her life story. Throughout the whole book we can tell that Lucy is a different age at different
parts of the book. Lucy s opinion of surveillance changes as she is growing up. In the beginning, Lucy
is a young teenager living with her god mother, Mrs. Bretton. At this point in the story, Lucy s opinion
of surveillance is nonexistence, she really does not care about the what is going on around her because
at this point there is nothing big going on in her life. As the story goes on, another young girl comes
into the Bretton house and Lucy is very curious about who this little girl is, who she belongs to, and
why she is coming to stay at her god mother s house. Lucy comes to find out through surveillance that
the little girls name is Polly and she is coming to stay at the Bretton s house because her father is ill

development through social and cultural influences. The book explores the evolution of the Internet
from ARPANET to global networks. The Internet s expansion has existed within an interworking web

Popularizing the Internet, shows the beginning of the wide spread of the Internet but before Internet
connectivity becomes popular at the personal level. All things considered, the book states the
expansions in Internet history between 1959 and 1991, with some proceedings to 1994. The author s
study of the Internet s genesis makes systematic links between the technological development and its
organizational, social, and cultural environment. There are many available histories on the Internet, in
print and online. Most are well documented information on technology and its history. Some mention
the fundamental concepts of communication, information, and knowledge. Abbate s work, however,
goes beyond ordinary facts and her findings are most revealing. The beginning of the Internet is well
known. It was a United States Defense research program named ARPANET. The internal structure of
ARPA that reared the network development during its first years is not as well known. Inventing the
Internet explains how the little agency was created in 1958 to respond to the Soviets successful launch

Reservation through Thomas Builds the Fire s story. Thomas s story shows how Victor s relationship
with Arnold is rebuilt even after Arnold s death, and Victor comes to a place of understanding and
forgiveness with his father and the world around him. Throughout the film, the symbolic references of
the rez car and the cutting of the hair tie the story together and complement the main themes of life
change and renewal, exemplifying the way people work through life s hardships. Accordingly, at the

At first glance, it takes a second to realize that the car is driving backwards and works only in reverse.
This represents how people feel when dealing with conflict and hardships. When in conflict, Victor
feels that he can never move forward. When he tries to move forward, he stays in one place or moved
back yet another step. Many people today can relate to this and experience this same feeling in their
struggles. This can also be said for the Indians living in the reservation. Ever since Columbus came
across the ocean, the Red man has been constantly pushed backwards, unable to get ahead. Likewise,
waterfalls and rivers represent the themes of renewal of the heart and washing away of hurt in Smoke
Signals. A stream is like the vital organ, the liver. A liver purifies the blood cleansing it of toxins and
making it pure. This is evident when Victor pours out Arnold s ashes from the bridge into the river.
Victor is able to pick up Arnold s ashes at the sheriff s office after he forgives Arnold and is able to

misunderstanding and miscommunicating. The common and major barriers are these six: Cliché,
Jargon, Slang, Sexist and Racist Language, Euphemisms and Doublespeak.
Cliché, Jargon and Slang
Cliché is an overused word or phrase that has lost its originality and interest overtime. It loses its
impact on the receiver because they avoid the use of the common meaning and at the same time it
doesn t focus on the precise usage of the word or phrase.
Example: At the end of the day said during a business meeting setting might cause misunderstanding
base on the fact that the receiver might interpret that as the literal meaning of the end of that day or ...

Example: the most common Jargon we all refer to when thinking about a normal standard working job
is the famous 9 to 5 ; which stands for the standard work day.
Slang is a different way than the usual to say or express words. It´s close to jargon; it may be a freshly
invented word or a traditional one with various intent or effect.
Example: A common slang I heard about in an American TV series was how workers referred to CEO,
COO, CFO... and so on as the c level workers to refer to the high senior workers in the management.
Sexist and Racist Language, Euphemisms, Doublespeak
Sexist and racist language is a group of slangs joined together to belittle or insult people of different
groups, origin and culture. Today these languages are violation of policies and discriminatory laws.
Example: these types of slangs referred as being sexist or racist, unfortunately are present in our
everyday lives and all over the world. A common example is referred to people who travel from place
to place or simply are nomad as

Cervical Stenosis Case Study Essay
The patient is a fifty six year old male who was admitted on 10/3/16. His reason for admission was his
involvement in a motor vehicle accident where his car was t boned by another vehicle. Upon arrival to
the emergency department, his chief complaint was his inability to detect sensation from the nipple
line down, and his inability to move his extremities. He was otherwise alert, oriented and able to
breathe on his own. After an assessment confirmed his inability to feel anything from the chest down,
a portable x ray of his chest was ordered, but this did not show any acute findings. Multiple computed
tomography scans were then ordered for his head, cervical spine, abdomen and pelvis, chest and
thoracic spine; but all of these scans resulted in no acute findings. However, a computed tomography
scan of the lumbar spine did show spinal stenosis secondary to disc protrusion, and magnetic
resonance imaging scans were then ordered for the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. The magnetic
resonance scans showed multiple compression fractures from the C3 to C5 vertebrae, with ligament
injuries from C5 to C7, bruising of the spinous process of C6, mass bone bruising and soft tissue
injuries at C3 and C4 with edema, severe spinal stenosis with cord compression at C3 and C4, and
cord contusion at T2. The patient was then ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Buildings In Ancient Greece
Some of the types of buildings in ancient greece are temples. They used temples to worship or honor
their gods and goddesses. They were a source of religion. A famous temple that they had was the
parthenon.
A way the greeks past the time was theatre performances. They were a big part of their lives. The
theatres were mostly built into the side of a hill. Some of the theatres they made could sit tens of
thousands of people.
The U.S capital is inspired by the greeks because it has Corinthian columns, triangular pediments, and
domed roofs like the parthenon in ancient greece.

Comparing Cimabue Enthroned Madonna And Child
In the early 13th century two paintings came to shape the view of the Christian faith and put their
stamp on history by ushering in two different styles of the same idea. Cimabue Enthroned Madonna
and Giotto Enthroned Madonna became iconic images that have stood the test of time. At a glance
they appear to be same but with a closer look very distinct differences are apparent and unmistakable.
The Cimabue Enthroned Madonna and child was painted around 1285 A.D. for the church of Santa
Trinita in Florence. The painting was massive measuring over twelve feet high and seven feet wide.
The painting is vivid and vibrant red, blue, and the gold color over powers the viewer and shades them
to the perceived glory of Jesus and all he stands for and can be to them. The image is not constructed
in three dimensions that people are accustoms to today, but instead one dimension were size is ...

The most obvious difference is the way the painter arranged the images in the space of the painting.
Cimabue is one dimensional with no real floor, as represented by the angels standing taller than each
other with no elevated surface to speak of; as where Giotto has a natural incline to the painting and the
angels are kneeling on a solid floor. Cimabue painting all angels were mirror images of each other and
none look at the baby Jesus, and in contrast Giotto all angels have different faces, robes and hair styles
and all eyes are affixed on the baby Jesus. Jesus is close to the same with some stylistic differences in
appearance. One Jesus is more of a mini man and the other a baby. Giotto appeared to take a lot more
effort and focus on making the angel and Mary more real by giving Mary color stained lips and
feminine features. Also showed her as more of a mother by the way she appears to be holding the baby

Femmer s Murder Is Wrong
The Natural Law Theory suggested that Elmer s murder is wrong because it violates moral principles.
While I do agree with this, Gray makes a strong argument in the sense that the court is expected to
follow the law created by the people in authority. Before Francis s death, there was no mistakes in the
will and the language of the statute governing wills was clearly written, making it a valid one. In other
words, the court is required to uphold the validity of the will. In placing morality above the demands
of the law, the majority judges meets the burden of overruling the written law. Therefore, positivists
would agree that the rules governing wills must be applied as written and that a benefactor must
inherit. It is true that the law can

A Comparison of Exxon and Chevron
Executive Summary Exxon and Chevron are no doubt some of the leading incorporated oil companies
on the globe. Exxon Corp. is the second largest oil firm after Royal Dutch Shell, it is respected for
getting the biggest revenue return in 2008 which no company in the U.S. have ever reported before.
According to Wilson (2009) Chevron has managed to show a lot of profitability in the market despite
the decease in its oil production. It graded as one of firms which made a billion dollars profit within a
week in the period of July to September 2008. Regardless of profitability trends set by the two oil
firms in the U.S. market, they have been facing financial decline like the rest of the companies in other
industries. The two firms are like two sailing ships which are taking longer time to sink. In the last few
years, the production capacity of Chevron and Exxon has decreased and their listings on the stock
market have become weak. The continuation of construction and drilling which requires billions of
dollars in expense of oil production might make them experience a bigger financial crisis (Wilson,
2009). Exxon and Chevron are so different in a number of ways. When you compare Chevron to
Exxon, Chevron is a smaller firm. The ratios of Exxon are relatively larger than Chevron s.
Nevertheless, Chevron has a got a wide net working capital and market ratio than its counterpart
Exxon. This therefore, means that because its larger networking capital, Chevron needs a lot of money

Evaluation Of A Psychiatric Treatment
1.) I would recommend that she undergo psychiatric treatment as well as crisis counseling.
Hospitalization would be required as she has expressed current suicidal thoughts to kill herself.
Since Brandy has had a suicidal plan already attempted, I would recommend to her family that I be
allowed to refer her to be immediately hospitalized for a minimum of 48 hours under the psychiatric
care of her psychiatrist. I would require that she is placed on a one to one suicide watch either by a RN
or mental aide technician while at the psychiatric hospital. I would also propose that if she is taken off
the recommended treatment due to clinical improvement she must be regularly monitor according to
hospital procedures. 2.) During her hospitalization, I would also recommend that her psychiatrist
prescribe Brandy medications as she will need pharmacotherapy to be part of her treatment plan. I
would recommend to her psychiatrist that she be placed on antidepressants in order to decrease her
suicidal ideation and depression. I would not recommend that she be medicated with tricyclic
antidepressants as they have been known to be lethal if a patient overdoses. Prozac would be a
recommended medication at a dosage of 20 40 mg per day or Zoloft (50 200 mg per day). Paxil,
Luvox, Effor, and Serzone are other antidepressants that could be considered for her depression. 3.)
After hospitalization, I would suggest that she continued her treatment and care through my outpatient

Mercantilism Analysis
Adam Smith and David Hume were the founding fathers of anti mercantilist thought. There were
number of scholars who found many limitation of mercantilism even before Adam Smith developed
his theory that could fully substitute it. The criticism made by Dudley North, David Hume, and John
Locke eroded much of mercantilism and because of which it uncertainly lost its favour during the 18th
century. In the year 1969, John Locke made an agreement that prices differ in proportion to the
quantity of money. The second treatise made by John Locke also pointed out towards the heart of the
anti mercantilist, the critique was that the wealth of the world is not fixed, but is created by human
labor (represented by John Locke in his unformed labor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Adam Smith noted at the core of the mercantile system was the, popular folly of confusing wealth
with money, bullion was just same as other any commodity, so there was no reason to give it any
special treatment. . More recently, scholars have discounted the accuracy of this critique. They believe
Mun and Misselden were not making this mistake in the 1620s, and point to their followers Josiah
Child and Charles Davenant, who, in 1699, wrote: Gold and Silver are indeed the Measure of Trade,
but that the Spring and Original of it, in all nations is the Natural or Artificial Product of the Country;
that is to say, what this Land or what this Labour and Industry Produces. The critique that
mercantilism was a form of rent seeking has also seen criticism, as scholars such Jacob Viner in the
1930s point out that merchant mercantilists such as Mun understood that they would not gain by
higher prices for English wares abroad.
The first school to completely reject mercantilism was the physiocrats, who developed their theories in
France. Their theories also had several important problems, and the replacement of mercantilism did
not come until Adam Smith published The Wealth of Nations in 1776. This book outlines the basics of
what is today known as classical economics. Smith spends a considerable portion of the book
rebutting the arguments of the mercantilists,

Essay On John Donne
John Donne was an English Poet, Priest and outsider. He was born into a devout catholic family in
1572 in London, however, he did not stay true to his families Catholic beliefs. Donne grew up as a
catholic in a rough period in England when the anti Roman period was reaching new heights. This of
course caused problems for him until the 1590 s when he returned to London from his studies abroad
in Theological issues and converted to the English church. During these early days of his life, Donne
converted because his brother was imprisoned for being Catholic and later died in prison. With Donne
now in the English Church writing he soon became the secretary to Sir Thomas Egerton, Lord Keeper
of the great seal. While for many this would prove to be the beginning of a great career, it would soon
end. This was because he secretly married the teen niece of Egerton, Ann More, in 1601. He was then
forced to move away to the countryside living in a poverty stricken lifestyle. Although having twelve
kids and living in poverty seems horrible, Donne still thrived in his poetry. According to Wendy
Smith, Poetry written during those years limns an ecstatic physical and emotional union with an
intelligent, passionate companion. Perhaps this blissful society of two was the home Donne had been
looking for (7). However, his wife died and his poetry took another unexpected turn, as it became
more dark and not as full of love. As the years went on Donne slowly began to get sick more

An Overview Of Parkinson Disease
An Overview of Parkinson Disease Parkinson disease (PD) is a condition consisting of many
unanswered questions. What causes it? Is it a genetic disorder? How will an individual know if they
will be diagnosed with it in their lifetime? The list of enquiries one might present is endless. However,
before even attempting to answer any questions, it is essential to understand the disease as a whole. In
order to do so, grasping basic background information as well as data on PD is necessary. Following
that, discussing material regarding the science behind the disease will provide a deeper understanding
when examining the subsequent etiologies, signs, and symptoms. From a historical perspective, PD
was first described in 1817 by James ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In order to understand the possible etiology and the signs and symptoms, it is important to first
recognize the science of PD and what happens neurologically. Nolden, Tartavoulle, and Porche (2014)
explain that the brain structures affected by the disease are known as the substantia nigra and the basal
ganglia. The role of the basal ganglia is to provide control of fine motor movements. What happens
with PD, is there is a loss of dopamine producing neurons from the substantia nigra which causes a
deficiency in dopamine levels. Without a sufficient amount of dopamine, there are not enough
chemical messages being transmitted to initiate, control, and balance movement of the target muscles.
It is worth noting though, that dopamine levels decrease naturally as one ages, so symptoms could
become more aggressive and prevalent the older an individual gets. Fallon et al. (2015) explains that
the dying cells contain Lewy bodies, defined as protein aggregates, which allow the disease to be
identified. However, it is still undetermined what all factors cause the degeneration of those brain cells
and PD as a whole. PD is a disease of mostly unknown etiology; however, there have been links to
various factors from environmental influences to genetics (Galifianakis Ghazinouri, 2014). First of all,
it is necessary to mention that the suspected environmental factors are hard to come by for they are
merely risk factors. Nonetheless, they are still important to

I Chose The Top Left Picture Of The Vanity Fair
In this 21st century where representation and visibility of all groups is valued, it is not surprising to
see photos or videos in the media promoting or even advertising unique lifestyle that just a few
decades ago would unearthed a feeling of disgust or repulsion. While on one hand some uses media in
a positive way, introducing us to new fresher ideas which would ve been unthinkable before. Suchlike
families aside from the traditional nuclear family (e.g. single parent household, lesbian and gay
couples, or eccentric families in general), people of colour taking bolder or positions of leadership, or
even simple individuals breaking the barrier of norms. On the other hand, there are those who simply
see the media as a lucrative business aimed to spread consumer commodification and vain lifestyle. As
I want to focus on the latter, I chose the top left picture of the Vanity Fair (VF) March 2014 issue. This

just the magazine with her on the cover, in that position wearing that dress doesn t appeal to me. She s
wearing a black dress that covers parts that should be, but is showing enough skin to entice curiosity
paired with black stilettos. Taking a four legged animal stance on bland looking table with a hazy,
rugged wall to complete the scene . Honestly speaking, at

Billy Abbott And Lou Costello
There may not be a more well known comedy routine in the American consciousness than that of Who
s on First? by Bud Abbott and Lou Costello. The routine has been parodied, satirized and imitated by
countless TV shows, movies, and theatre productions, and the joke has become almost a cultural
shorthand for confusing situations.
Because Who s on first? has become such a large part of popular culture, many writers, directors and
producers make allusions to the sketch freely. However, as the producers of one Broadway show
discovered, when allusions become direct reproductions, there may be legal liability for copyright
infringement.
Hand to God Faces Lawsuit
The playwright, producer and promoter of the Broadway play Hand to God were served with a lawsuit
alleging that production infringed on Abbott Costello s copyright to the Who s on First? routine.
The play, which has been nominated for several Tony awards, features a scene where the lead
character, a teenage boy, attempts to impress a girl by performing part of the sketch with a sock
puppet. The girl does not understand the reference, and boy initially tries to claim credit before
eventually admitting that it was a famous routine from the 1950s.
According to the lawsuit, the creators of Hand to God used the dialogue from Who s on First? without
license or permission from the heirs of Abbott Costello, and rejected a request to change the
production after the heirs sent a cease and desist letter. The heirs

Ovariohysterectomy In Dogs
Problem: Spaying a dog is a far more invasive surgery than neutering is, due to the need to enter the
abdominal cavity to remove the uterus and the ovaries in a ovariohysterectomy. The act of opening the

potentially non sterile environment. To counteract the risk of infection, many doctors preemptively

A Farewell To Arms Rhetorical Analysis
I have a simple philosophy: Fill what s empty. Empty what s full. Scratch where it itches.
(Longworth). In the novel, A Farewell to Arms, Ernest Hemingway conveys this simple philosophy to
tell the story of Frederic s internal battle between love and war. Frederic is internally attempting to fill
the empty void in his heart with love, while simultaneously emptying the overflowing bucket of harsh
memories from war. The itch of every man is the love of a woman, and this itch is especially growing
within Frederic, because, as the musical about men alone at war, South Pacific, states, There is nothing
like a dame. Ernest Hemingway enhances the novel by using several rhetorical strategies such as
simple diction, syntax, foreshadowing, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Throughout the novel, the rain is consistently brought up when Catherine reveals All right. I m afraid
of the rain because sometimes I see me dead in it, (Hemingway 126). The rain is not only
foreshadowing, yet it is a metaphor to death. For example, when Aymo, Tenente, Piani, Bonello, and
Frederic were on a road that led to a river (Hemingway 209) , when it began to rain again. Which led
to a shooting between Germans (supposedly) and the men. The constant repetition of rain when death
is present shows the metaphor that rain itself brings to the book. When rain comes, death follows. The
novel ends with Frederic leaving the hospital after Catherine has died, it begins to rain. Since rain is
shown at the end, maybe the author is leaving the reader of the thought of Frederic going downhill in
the future. The presence of rain equates to the presence of death. This use of rain as a metaphor for
death shows Hemingway s attitude through the relationship between Frederic and Catherine. Rain is
temporary, it comes when a cloud overflows with moisture and disappears when the sun shines
brightly, as goes the relationship between the two. It comes and goes, explodes and disappears, just
like the rain from the

The Coals of Russian Imperialism Still Smolder on Ukrainian Soil
Ukraine, once a totalitarian state in the USSR, is now being ravaged by civil war. This war has been
fought between Ukrainian Nationalist and Pro Russian supporters in the Donbass region. This rising
unrest can be traced back to the Russian ties that run deep in its Government. This Russian influence
is being used by President Putin to incite Rebellion in the eyes of Ukrainians, and it all starts with
Ukrainian politics of party groups Svoboda and The Party of Regions

This war has ruined the Ukrainian economy and the value of Ukrainian dollar has fallen over 50

young pure girl to this indigenous person living in a harsh jungle by describing her attire, a bush hat,

Redwoods Soccer Team Interview
I have selected College of the Redwoods soccer team as a candidate to use as my research study in my
Anthropology 3 course here at College of the Redwoods. I would like the opportunity to study the
soccer team because it is a sport that holds a significant value and I would like to participate in this
movement. Please feel free to stop and ask any questions that may come up as I ask for you to read
through this consent form. The study is being conducted by Brenda Sanchez.
The purpose of this study is to understand the feeling, experience, and value that these young men feel
as they are a part of this sport. How this sport brings people from all over the world together and
makes these people that are so passionate for the sport think of it than more than a sport but a love.
I would like to conduct our interviews for a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I would like to be very active and present with the team as much as possible so that I can witness and
document the passion that occurs in between the players. I would also like to attend at least one of
your soccer games and at least one gap and gown session. I will be asking you questions about
academic goals, the recruiting process, what a typical day in the coaches life is for you on a game day
and regular practice day, how close the team players are with each other and if they house together and
questions of that matter. For confidentiality purposes I will not use any of the player s names and all of
our recordings will be kept safe and secure and will not be published in any study records. As soon as
this research study is completed I will delete all of the data and recordings. Nothing will be kept in my
possession. If you do not feel comfortable to be present at a certain game or any moment at all you are
in your right to refuse and the same goes for the questions that I

The Pros And Cons Of Senator Cruz
It is sad that two grown politicians have to collude against one person who has only been a politician
for ten months in order to try and stop that person from getting the Republican nomination. Senator
Cruz has done very poorly and after his New York performance, which was a total disaster, he is in
free fall and as everyone has seen, he does not react well under pressure. Also, approximately 80% of
the Republican Party is against him. Governor Kasich, who has only won 1 state out of 41, in other
words, he is 1 for 41 and he is not even doing as well as other candidates who could have stubbornly
stayed in the race like him but chose not to do so. Marco Rubio, as an example, has more delegates
than Kasich and yet suspended his campaign one

Testing Of Faith Research Paper
The devil is always roaming the world to tempt us and to sabotage our faith in God, but God uses
multiple test to develop our faith in Him. We as human being must be tested by faith in order for God
to trust us with His word. False faith fails in times of us been tested in our trial, but crazy faith helps
us to grow and mature in areas to edify God s Kingdom. This clarifies why God authorized the three
black Hebrew men who names were, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to be tested by their faith.
God also consented for them to be thrown into the fiery furnace for their faith to be developed. In 1
Peter 1:7 says, These have come so that your faith of greater worth than gold, which perishes even
though refined by fire may be proved genuine and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This word does not mean a helper, worker, nor servant it is simple means someone who owns an
individual. When I look at the word slave it is describes as an insecure person that is in a dark place
and looking for a way out to be free. It is also a cruel, oppressive, and a person that is held hostage
from being happy. In I Corinthians 7:21 Were you a slave when you were called? Don t let it trouble
you although if you can gain your freedom, do so. (NIV) This scripture is letting the reader know that
every human being on this planet have an opportunity to be free. In order to be free you must be
accordance with the Word of God. No person should remain in such a condition that causes them to
die mental and physically. Jesus Christ has given man and woman a chance to be free of this world
and to be able to be free you must Seek God with all your heart, might and all of your soul. In
Proverbs 3:6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. God will do just that
and if the people will be a slave for Christ then all of their bitterness, hate, discomfort, unforgiveness
will no longer be a slave to the devil. God is the creator of the universe and He keep His promises to
human kind and His Word never failed them. When humankind obey His Word and become His slave
they will have a prosperous life, and to be a slave master to Christ, people must trust

Parental Involvement in the Youth Criminal Justice System...
Summary of Context In their article Doug Hillian and Marge Reitsma Street examines parents
involvement in the youth criminal justice system in Western Canada. Their study was conducting on
ten Caucasian families nine of which were middle and upper middle class, with sons, involved in the
Juvenile Criminal Justice System. The study was to determine the parents place in the judicial system,
which appears to make it more arduous for parents, attempting to deal with the difficult task of
parenting young offenders, while navigating a system, which labels, blames, and assumes that as
parents they are unfit, irresponsible, and uncaring. Hillian and Reitsma argues if one starts with the
conceptual approaches to youth justice, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, it is with the utmost importance, that the courts strategize, on how to empower and
motivate parent s participation and involvement. The most obvious or realistic approach, would be to
utilize studies with concrete outcomes and conclusion, or expound on, or develop a study or focus
group identifying the parents needs, parenting style, barriers, and other challenges that makes parental
involvement difficult. Thus, it would allow the implementation of practical and viable solutions,
specifically changing the systemic problems, empowering parents, and forging a collaborative
relationship between the juvenile justice system, the community, and parents. Some things, should to
be immediately done, such as treating parents with empathy and respect, understanding that they have
rights and should be informed of those rights. Some of the apparent rights of the parents are fair
treatment with dignity and respect, the rights to know what the courts expects of them, and informed
of all scheduled court dates and appointments, which could be inserted in a pamphlet. The overall
benefit would be to work together in a collaborative effort to help reduce the recidivism rate among
youth and lessen the inconvenient burden of the parents, community and juvenile justice system.
Hillian and Reitsma provided the framework with

Dark Alliance by Gary Stephen Webb
In 1996, Gary Stephen Webb was best known for his three part article series, Dark Alliance. Webb
exposed The Central Intelligence Agency s (C.I.A.) drug trafficking operations. These articles were
first written for the San Jose Mercury News before later being published into a book. Webb discovered
a drug operation between a California drug ring, the C.I.A., and the Nicaraguan Contras. Evidence
showed that the C.I.A. had direct contact with smugglers, knowing that the profits being made from
the drugs were used to purchase equipment for the Nicaraguan Contras. The San Francisco Bay Area
drug ring had tons of cocaine, which they turned into crack cocaine. Crack cocaine was a cheaper
version of the drug that was highly addictive. This more affordable drug was distributed to the Los
Angeles street gangs by drug dealer, Ricky Donnell Ross better known by his nickname, Freeway
Ricky. They then sold the product to people in the black communities. By 1994, Freeway Ricky was
known as the master marketer mainly responsible for flooding the streets of L.A. with cocaine. Today,
Los Angeles is known as the crack capital of the world.
Juan Norwin Meneses Cantarero was the head boss over the Bay Area drug ring. Meneses owned a
home, bars, restaurants, a car lot, and factories. Though he was never imprisoned, the federal
government knew about his drug dealings. In 1996, Meneses was arrested by Nicaraguan police on
cocaine charges in Managua. In the series, Gary Webb focused mainly on

Why Is Human Rights Act 1998 Important In A Nursery
Human Rights Act 1998 Article 3: The right to liberty and security of the person This act is essential
in a nursery as it allows the children to be safe and free within the setting. To do this the manager must
ensure she only employs people with the required knowledge and qualifications while also having
policies in place. To ensure children have maximum security within the nursery setting there was
security cameras set at every entrance to the nursery this allows those with access to footage to see
who is in the building at what time therefore if any incidents do occur the person responsible will be
held accountable. The nursery had locked doors that must be opened by a member of staff or someone
within. The lock systems are also high up, and out of reach from the children in the setting, this is
done to ensure children cannot escape as it would be unsafe considering the busy roads nearby. Staff
were required to wear a set uniform for identification letting children and parents know they are
supposed to be in the setting. On arrival and collection of children it is required for parents to be
assisted by a staff member, e.g. a staff member answers the door and then takes parents to the
appropriate room where there child is, then a member of staff from that room ... Show more content on

the confidentiality policy and staff code of conduct. Staff should have copies of these and fully trained
to follow them. Children must also have freedom to a certain degree as they cannot obviously be put
in a situation where they are opposed to danger e.g. they are not allowed to leave the nursery and enter
out into the busy street beside a main road, so if they ask to the answer must be no. A child within the
nurseries care should not be locked in a room or restrained in a small space for any reason as it is a
complete breach to their rights. Protocol 1, Article 1: The right to peaceful enjoyment of one s

Samuel De Champlain Research Paper
The advice I give to all adventurers is to seek a place where they may sleep in safety, as stated by
Samuel De champlain. Being born to a family of marines, Samuel De Champlain was exposed to
navigators like his father and uncle who taught him how to navigate, draw, make nautical charts, and
write practical reports. Samuel De Champlain was an explorer who sailed under the France flag in the
1600s, he later changed the world by discovering and claiming parts of the new world. Born on
August 13, 1570, in Brouage in southwestern France to Antoine de Champlain and Marguerite Le Roy.
Champlain was born into a Navy family where he learned navigation from his father and his uncle. As
a young boy Samuel de Champlain went with his father and his uncle on various voyages studied
cartography, navigation, astronomy and mathematics, as stated from the website Samuel de Champlain
Facts. His father was a mariner in the French navy so Champlain grew up around trade. As stated from
the website land of the brave, very little is known of Champlain s childhood. The exact year of his
birth is even unconfirmed, and there is a long running dispute about whether he was Protestant or
Catholic. But something that is known is uncle did help encourage ... Show more content on

Champlain made a fur trading company to trade with the Native Americans. He made maps for king
Henry the 4th just for a little gold. He explored Canada to battle the Iroquois for the Algonquins.
Samuel De Champlain won the battle between the Algonquins and the Iroquois. Champlain was a
helpful man because of all the deeds he did. Clearly, Samuel De Champlain was a very important to
our world. If it wasn t for his uncle he wouldn t have went on his first voyage to Canada to build his
new fur trading company. He also created maps for King Henry the IV since he loved to draw the seas.
Champlain died in 1635 at 68 years old in Brogue,

  • 2. Benefits Of Electronic Medical Record Introduction There are many benefits of using electronic medical record (EMR). This paper will discuss the benefits of electronic medical record for the physicians, patients, and the healthcare organizations. Benefits of EMR for Physicians There are so many benefits for physicians to use electronic medical record, for example, they can eliminate a tremendous amount of paperwork since most of their charting is done on the computer. Another advantage of using electronic medical record is the fact that it allows for easy transfer of data or information to other departments or medical providers. This ability of the electronic medical record helps to eliminate errors, it also less time consuming and it prevents physicians and patients from repeating the same test. It also helps to prevent patients from over exposing their body to unnecessary radiation. It is also important to note that healthcare insurance is also enjoying this feature of the electronic medical record since they are saving money whereby they will not have to pay for duplicate testing. The electronic medical record being able to transfer patients data and information from one provider to the next is important since it allows collaborations among various departments and healthcare facilities, also, physicians do not have to worry about paperwork being misplaced or misfiled. Most patients find themselves at some time or another gone to another healthcare facility that is not affiliated with their current ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. How Cellphones Have Become An Important Part Of Our Daily... Cellphones have become an important part of our daily lives. They connect us to others and have revolutionized the world we live in from social interaction apps like Tinder to a GPS that will take you wherever one needs to go. One large competitor growing in this industry is Apple. They have reached more than 700 million people worldwide with their product, the iPhone (Tofel 2015): a milestone that may not have been possible without mastering the art of the global supply chain. The path to the creation of the iPhone is not as simple as the phone itself. It requires many pieces which all do not easily come from the same place. Professor Rivoli s book Travels of a T Shirt in the Global Economy spoke of the line between passion and reason. Through passion an iPhone was created but at what cost or for what reason? This is about the path taken to create a product that over 700 million people marvel about. For Apple, the iPhone starts on the drawing boards of engineers in California. It initially started in 2007 as a phone well ahead others in technology. But what separated the iPhone from competition was its design characteristics of simplicity, functionality, and sleek design. Today we are on the 6th generation of the popular device. Not too much has drastically changed from the original design, primarily technology tweaks to improve its performance. Once new modifications have been completed, the plans are sent to Foxconn and Pegatron to be assembled in China (Rudy Media 2014). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

These consequences have a negative effect on the climate, biodiversity, the atmosphere and threatens the cultural and physical survival of life. Deforestation is the permanent destruction of indigenous forests and woodlands. It has resulted in the reduction of indigenous forests to four fifths of their pre agricultural area, so that now indigenous forests cover only 21% of the earth s land surface. The world Resources Institute regards deforestation as one of the worlds most pressing land use problem. It is now so bad that every minute an area of forest equal to 20 football fields is lost. Logging tropical hardwoods like teak, mahogany, rosewood and other timber for furniture, building materials, charcoal and other wood products is big business and creates big profits. Several species of tropical hardwoods are imported by developed counties, including America, just to build coffins which are then buried or burned. The demand, extraction and consumption of tropical hardwoods has been so massive that some countries which have been traditional exporters of tropical hardwoods are now importing the wood because they have already exhausted their supply by destroying their native rainforests in slash and burn operations. It is anticipated that The Philippines, Malaysia, The Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Thailand will all run out of rainforest hardwood for export within the next five years. In addition to logging for exportation, rainforest wood stays in developing countries for fuel wood and charcoal. One single steel plant in Brazil making steel for Japanese cars needs millions of tons of wood each year to produce charcoal that can be used in the manufacture of steel. Then there is the paper industry. A pulpwood project in the Brazilian Amazon consists of a Japanese power plant and pulp mill. To set up this single plant operation, 5,600 square miles of Amazon Rainforest was burned to the ground and replanted ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Film Analysis Of swallowtail Butterfly In this paper, I ll mainly focus on movie Swallowtail Butterfly (1996) and discuss it from three perspectives: its artistic filming style and techniques, passive kokusaika and it influenced by exotic culture. Despite some similarities with other movies, Swallowtail Butterfly is trying to set itself apart from convention by highlighting its unique artistic value and presenting unconventional perspective of a trendy topic. If I regard the appreciation of Swallowtail Butterfly as an evolutionary process, the first thing I realize might be its very artistic filming style. Shunji Iwai adopts some film techniques which often appear in the movies of 6th generation directors. But unlike 6th generation directors who constantly pursue realism in their movie, by the use of color, music and composition, Shunji Iwai injects considerable artistic value into this movie and he makes use of the artistic value to achieve an utopian vision of Yen Town. The artistic filming style and utopian vision of Yen Town There is a series of scenes depicting their seemingly utopian life in Blue Sky after accidentally causing the death of Suto (45:00). They are collecting reusable garbage in the waste yard; Arrow is teaching Ageha boxing; Feihong, Glico and Ageha accidentally find a piano in the waste yard; Ageha and Glico laugh, sing and play piano on the truck. Predicting the whereabouts of a nation and its economy on the trade cycle is a very important challenge; as the determination of current and forecasted economic conditions allows governments, firms and households alike to navigate the economy and prepare for future issues. In today s article, the Australian economic position on the business cycle will be forecasted using a range of different reports, models and economic criterion. THE REPORTS Current reports, experts and articles all indicate that conditions of the global economy are currently very poor. Looking past a number of singularities and minor issues, most reports point towards three main economic issues as the cause of the weak worldwide markets; poor productivity in China, recent slumps in the value of commodities, and minimal investor confidence. This section will analyse exactly what these issues are, how they are effecting the global economy and what impact they have on Australia. • 8. The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow Essay It was, as I have said, a fine autumnal day; the sky was clear and serene, and nature wore that rich and golden livery which we always associate with the idea of abundance. The forests had put on their sober brown and yellow, while some trees of the tenderer kind had been nipped by the frosts into brilliant dyes of orange, purple, and scarlet. In Washington Irving The Legend of sleepy Hollow, setting, characterization, and Irony affect the protagonist in several ways. The night setting is important because it further emphasizes the superstitious theme. A somnolent, illusory effect appears to be dangling around the surrounding, and to spread through the air (Irving). This passage shows, for instance, some of the villagers believe that the town was bewitched by a German doctor. The villagers frequently hear voices, strange music and see strange sights. Not to mention the hessian trooper ghost that haunts the valleys. It is said that during the Revolutionary war his head was carried away by a cannon ball and that he rides on a haunt for his head. These superstitions tales of the town make the villagers afraid of the headless horseman. All things considered, most of the villagers were terrified of the many supernatural stories they heard and also terror stuck about the headless horseman. The time period in which the story took place is important because of the war. From the lifeless inactivity of the atmosphere, and the unusual persona of its residents who are ancestors ... • 22. Symbolism In Smoke Signals In the film Smoke Signals, Chris Eyre explores the lives of the people of the Coeur d Alene Reservation through Thomas Builds the Fire s story. Thomas s story shows how Victor s relationship with Arnold is rebuilt even after Arnold s death, and Victor comes to a place of understanding and forgiveness with his father and the world around him. Throughout the film, the symbolic references of the rez car and the cutting of the hair tie the story together and complement the main themes of life change and renewal, exemplifying the way people work through life s hardships. Accordingly, at the beginning of the film when Thomas s parents died in a fire, Arnold cut his hair. For an Indian, this is done to indicate a life change or to signify ... This can also be said for the Indians living in the reservation. Ever since Columbus came across the ocean, the Red man has been constantly pushed backwards, unable to get ahead. Likewise, waterfalls and rivers represent the themes of renewal of the heart and washing away of hurt in Smoke Signals. A stream is like the vital organ, the liver. A liver purifies the blood cleansing it of toxins and making it pure. This is evident when Victor pours out Arnold s ashes from the bridge into the river. The common and major barriers are these six: Cliché, Jargon, Slang, Sexist and Racist Language, Euphemisms and Doublespeak. Cliché, Jargon and Slang Cliché is an overused word or phrase that has lost its originality and interest overtime. It loses its impact on the receiver because they avoid the use of the common meaning and at the same time it doesn t focus on the precise usage of the word or phrase. Upon arrival to the emergency department, his chief complaint was his inability to detect sensation from the nipple line down, and his inability to move his extremities. He was otherwise alert, oriented and able to breathe on his own. After an assessment confirmed his inability to feel anything from the chest down, a portable x ray of his chest was ordered, but this did not show any acute findings. Multiple computed tomography scans were then ordered for his head, cervical spine, abdomen and pelvis, chest and thoracic spine; but all of these scans resulted in no acute findings. However, a computed tomography scan of the lumbar spine did show spinal stenosis secondary to disc protrusion, and magnetic resonance imaging scans were then ordered for the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine. Cimabue Enthroned Madonna and Giotto Enthroned Madonna became iconic images that have stood the test of time. At a glance they appear to be same but with a closer look very distinct differences are apparent and unmistakable. The Cimabue Enthroned Madonna and child was painted around 1285 A.D. for the church of Santa Trinita in Florence. The painting was massive measuring over twelve feet high and seven feet wide. The painting is vivid and vibrant red, blue, and the gold color over powers the viewer and shades them to the perceived glory of Jesus and all he stands for and can be to them. In other words, the court is required to uphold the validity of the will. In placing morality above the demands of the law, the majority judges meets the burden of overruling the written law. Exxon Corp. is the second largest oil firm after Royal Dutch Shell, it is respected for getting the biggest revenue return in 2008 which no company in the U.S. have ever reported before. According to Wilson (2009) Chevron has managed to show a lot of profitability in the market despite the decease in its oil production. It graded as one of firms which made a billion dollars profit within a week in the period of July to September 2008. Regardless of profitability trends set by the two oil firms in the U.S. market, they have been facing financial decline like the rest of the companies in other industries. The two firms are like two sailing ships which are taking longer time to sink. In the last few years, the production capacity of Chevron and Exxon has decreased and their listings on the stock market have become weak. The continuation of construction and drilling which requires billions of dollars in expense of oil production might make them experience a bigger financial crisis (Wilson, 2009). Exxon and Chevron are so different in a number of ways. When you compare Chevron to Exxon, Chevron is a smaller firm. The ratios of Exxon are relatively larger than Chevron s. There were number of scholars who found many limitation of mercantilism even before Adam Smith developed his theory that could fully substitute it. The criticism made by Dudley North, David Hume, and John Locke eroded much of mercantilism and because of which it uncertainly lost its favour during the 18th century. In the year 1969, John Locke made an agreement that prices differ in proportion to the quantity of money. The second treatise made by John Locke also pointed out towards the heart of the anti mercantilist, the critique was that the wealth of the world is not fixed, but is created by human labor (represented by John Locke in his unformed labor ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Adam Smith noted at the core of the mercantile system was the, popular folly of confusing wealth with money, bullion was just same as other any commodity, so there was no reason to give it any special treatment. . More recently, scholars have discounted the accuracy of this critique. They believe Mun and Misselden were not making this mistake in the 1620s, and point to their followers Josiah Child and Charles Davenant, who, in 1699, wrote: Gold and Silver are indeed the Measure of Trade, but that the Spring and Original of it, in all nations is the Natural or Artificial Product of the Country; that is to say, what this Land or what this Labour and Industry Produces. The critique that mercantilism was a form of rent seeking has also seen criticism, as scholars such Jacob Viner in the 1930s point out that merchant mercantilists such as Mun understood that they would not gain by higher prices for English wares abroad. The first school to completely reject mercantilism was the physiocrats, who developed their theories in France. Their theories also had several important problems, and the replacement of mercantilism did not come until Adam Smith published The Wealth of Nations in 1776. This book outlines the basics of what is today known as classical economics. Smith spends a considerable portion of the book rebutting the arguments of the mercantilists, ... • 32. Essay On John Donne John Donne was an English Poet, Priest and outsider. He was born into a devout catholic family in 1572 in London, however, he did not stay true to his families Catholic beliefs. Donne grew up as a catholic in a rough period in England when the anti Roman period was reaching new heights. This of course caused problems for him until the 1590 s when he returned to London from his studies abroad in Theological issues and converted to the English church. During these early days of his life, Donne converted because his brother was imprisoned for being Catholic and later died in prison. With Donne now in the English Church writing he soon became the secretary to Sir Thomas Egerton, Lord Keeper of the great seal. While for many this would prove to be the beginning of a great career, it would soon end. This was because he secretly married the teen niece of Egerton, Ann More, in 1601. He was then forced to move away to the countryside living in a poverty stricken lifestyle. Although having twelve kids and living in poverty seems horrible, Donne still thrived in his poetry. According to Wendy Smith, Poetry written during those years limns an ecstatic physical and emotional union with an intelligent, passionate companion. Perhaps this blissful society of two was the home Donne had been looking for (7). However, his wife died and his poetry took another unexpected turn, as it became more dark and not as full of love. How will an individual know if they will be diagnosed with it in their lifetime? The list of enquiries one might present is endless. However, before even attempting to answer any questions, it is essential to understand the disease as a whole. In order to do so, grasping basic background information as well as data on PD is necessary. Following that, discussing material regarding the science behind the disease will provide a deeper understanding when examining the subsequent etiologies, signs, and symptoms. From a historical perspective, PD was first described in 1817 by James ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In order to understand the possible etiology and the signs and symptoms, it is important to first recognize the science of PD and what happens neurologically. Nolden, Tartavoulle, and Porche (2014) explain that the brain structures affected by the disease are known as the substantia nigra and the basal ganglia. The role of the basal ganglia is to provide control of fine motor movements. What happens with PD, is there is a loss of dopamine producing neurons from the substantia nigra which causes a deficiency in dopamine levels. Without a sufficient amount of dopamine, there are not enough chemical messages being transmitted to initiate, control, and balance movement of the target muscles. It is worth noting though, that dopamine levels decrease naturally as one ages, so symptoms could become more aggressive and prevalent the older an individual gets. Fallon et al. (2015) explains that the dying cells contain Lewy bodies, defined as protein aggregates, which allow the disease to be identified. However, it is still undetermined what all factors cause the degeneration of those brain cells and PD as a whole. PD is a disease of mostly unknown etiology; however, there have been links to various factors from environmental influences to genetics (Galifianakis Ghazinouri, 2014). First of all, it is necessary to mention that the suspected environmental factors are hard to come by for they are merely risk factors. Nonetheless, they are still important to ... In the novel, A Farewell to Arms, Ernest Hemingway conveys this simple philosophy to tell the story of Frederic s internal battle between love and war. Frederic is internally attempting to fill the empty void in his heart with love, while simultaneously emptying the overflowing bucket of harsh memories from war. The itch of every man is the love of a woman, and this itch is especially growing within Frederic, because, as the musical about men alone at war, South Pacific, states, There is nothing like a dame. For example, when Aymo, Tenente, Piani, Bonello, and Frederic were on a road that led to a river (Hemingway 209) , when it began to rain again. Which led to a shooting between Germans (supposedly) and the men. The constant repetition of rain when death is present shows the metaphor that rain itself brings to the book. When rain comes, death follows. The novel ends with Frederic leaving the hospital after Catherine has died, it begins to rain. Since rain is shown at the end, maybe the author is leaving the reader of the thought of Frederic going downhill in the future. The presence of rain equates to the presence of death. This use of rain as a metaphor for death shows Hemingway s attitude through the relationship between Frederic and Catherine. Thesis: O Brien reveals that no matter what the circumstances were the people who were exposed to the Vietnam War were greatly affected; O Brien showed this through the changes in Mary Anne Bell. The Sweetheart of the Song Tra Bong , by Tim O Brien, is a short story about how Mark Fossie brought Mary Anne Bell, his girlfriend, to the Vietnam War, thinking that this would be the best thing for both of them. It turns out that Mary Anne s personality and appearance were drastically altered during the war. This caused a change in their relationship. Mary Anne came into Vietnam being a pure and curious young girl, but at the end story her personality changes to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mary Anne s character showed increasingly inhuman and savage tendencies. She wore a bush hat and filthy green fatigues; she carried the standard M 16 automatic assault rifle. Her face was black with charcoal (11). In this sentence, Tim O Brien described the changes that Mary Anne overcame from this young pure girl to this indigenous person living in a harsh jungle by describing her attire, a bush hat, M 16, and her face was black with charcoal. Through this sentence, Mary Anne, the character and behavior of soldiers change throughout the war, because this pure girl does not turn into a indigenous human like this without any reason. She was also a part of the land. She was wearing her culottes, her pink sweater, and a necklace of human tongues (20). In this sentence, Mary Anne is seen as a complete iron hearted and psychotic. Tim O Brien has a lot of implications in this sentence. First, a human necklace human tongue (20) shows the character like an insane and heartless soldier changed by war. She wears her culottes, her pink sweater (20), this sentence is externally shown to the soldiers who want to go back to when they were pure. However, Tim O Brien also reveals the soldiers would like to return to their former mental status after the Vietnam War, but the soldiers were already past the point of no return, they lost their emotions and part of themselves. • 45. The Pros And Cons Of Senator Cruz It is sad that two grown politicians have to collude against one person who has only been a politician for ten months in order to try and stop that person from getting the Republican nomination. Senator Cruz has done very poorly and after his New York performance, which was a total disaster, he is in free fall and as everyone has seen, he does not react well under pressure. Also, approximately 80% of the Republican Party is against him. Governor Kasich, who has only won 1 state out of 41, in other words, he is 1 for 41 and he is not even doing as well as other candidates who could have stubbornly stayed in the race like him but chose not to do so. • 46. Testing Of Faith Research Paper The devil is always roaming the world to tempt us and to sabotage our faith in God, but God uses multiple test to develop our faith in Him. We as human being must be tested by faith in order for God to trust us with His word. False faith fails in times of us been tested in our trial, but crazy faith helps us to grow and mature in areas to edify God s Kingdom. This clarifies why God authorized the three black Hebrew men who names were, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to be tested by their faith. God also consented for them to be thrown into the fiery furnace for their faith to be developed. In 1 Peter 1:7 says, These have come so that your faith of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire may be proved genuine and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This word does not mean a helper, worker, nor servant it is simple means someone who owns an individual. When I look at the word slave it is describes as an insecure person that is in a dark place and looking for a way out to be free. It is also a cruel, oppressive, and a person that is held hostage from being happy. In I Corinthians 7:21 Were you a slave when you were called? Don t let it trouble you although if you can gain your freedom, do so. (NIV) This scripture is letting the reader know that every human being on this planet have an opportunity to be free. In order to be free you must be accordance with the Word of God. No person should remain in such a condition that causes them to die mental and physically. Jesus Christ has given man and woman a chance to be free of this world and to be able to be free you must Seek God with all your heart, might and all of your soul. In Proverbs 3:6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. God will do just that and if the people will be a slave for Christ then all of their bitterness, hate, discomfort, unforgiveness will no longer be a slave to the devil. • 47. Parental Involvement in the Youth Criminal Justice System... Summary of Context In their article Doug Hillian and Marge Reitsma Street examines parents involvement in the youth criminal justice system in Western Canada. Their study was conducting on ten Caucasian families nine of which were middle and upper middle class, with sons, involved in the Juvenile Criminal Justice System. The study was to determine the parents place in the judicial system, which appears to make it more arduous for parents, attempting to deal with the difficult task of parenting young offenders, while navigating a system, which labels, blames, and assumes that as parents they are unfit, irresponsible, and uncaring. Hillian and Reitsma argues if one starts with the conceptual approaches to youth justice, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Moreover, it is with the utmost importance, that the courts strategize, on how to empower and motivate parent s participation and involvement. The most obvious or realistic approach, would be to utilize studies with concrete outcomes and conclusion, or expound on, or develop a study or focus group identifying the parents needs, parenting style, barriers, and other challenges that makes parental involvement difficult. Thus, it would allow the implementation of practical and viable solutions, specifically changing the systemic problems, empowering parents, and forging a collaborative relationship between the juvenile justice system, the community, and parents. Some things, should to be immediately done, such as treating parents with empathy and respect, understanding that they have rights and should be informed of those rights. Some of the apparent rights of the parents are fair treatment with dignity and respect, the rights to know what the courts expects of them, and informed of all scheduled court dates and appointments, which could be inserted in a pamphlet. The overall benefit would be to work together in a collaborative effort to help reduce the recidivism rate among youth and lessen the inconvenient burden of the parents, community and juvenile justice system. • 48. Dark Alliance by Gary Stephen Webb In 1996, Gary Stephen Webb was best known for his three part article series, Dark Alliance. Webb exposed The Central Intelligence Agency s (C.I.A.) drug trafficking operations. These articles were first written for the San Jose Mercury News before later being published into a book. Webb discovered a drug operation between a California drug ring, the C.I.A., and the Nicaraguan Contras. Evidence showed that the C.I.A. had direct contact with smugglers, knowing that the profits being made from the drugs were used to purchase equipment for the Nicaraguan Contras. The San Francisco Bay Area drug ring had tons of cocaine, which they turned into crack cocaine. Crack cocaine was a cheaper version of the drug that was highly addictive. This more affordable drug was distributed to the Los Angeles street gangs by drug dealer, Ricky Donnell Ross better known by his nickname, Freeway Ricky. They then sold the product to people in the black communities. By 1994, Freeway Ricky was known as the master marketer mainly responsible for flooding the streets of L.A. with cocaine. Today, Los Angeles is known as the crack capital of the world. Juan Norwin Meneses Cantarero was the head boss over the Bay Area drug ring. Meneses owned a home, bars, restaurants, a car lot, and factories. Though he was never imprisoned, the federal government knew about his drug dealings. In 1996, Meneses was arrested by Nicaraguan police on cocaine charges in Managua. In the series, Gary Webb focused mainly on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 49. Why Is Human Rights Act 1998 Important In A Nursery Human Rights Act 1998 Article 3: The right to liberty and security of the person This act is essential in a nursery as it allows the children to be safe and free within the setting. To do this the manager must ensure she only employs people with the required knowledge and qualifications while also having policies in place. To ensure children have maximum security within the nursery setting there was security cameras set at every entrance to the nursery this allows those with access to footage to see who is in the building at what time therefore if any incidents do occur the person responsible will be held accountable. The nursery had locked doors that must be opened by a member of staff or someone within. The lock systems are also high up, and out of reach from the children in the setting, this is done to ensure children cannot escape as it would be unsafe considering the busy roads nearby. Staff were required to wear a set uniform for identification letting children and parents know they are supposed to be in the setting. On arrival and collection of children it is required for parents to be assisted by a staff member, e.g. a staff member answers the door and then takes parents to the appropriate room where there child is, then a member of staff from that room ... Being born to a family of marines, Samuel De Champlain was exposed to navigators like his father and uncle who taught him how to navigate, draw, make nautical charts, and write practical reports. Samuel De Champlain was an explorer who sailed under the France flag in the 1600s, he later changed the world by discovering and claiming parts of the new world. Born on August 13, 1570, in Brouage in southwestern France to Antoine de Champlain and Marguerite Le Roy. Champlain was born into a Navy family where he learned navigation from his father and his uncle. As a young boy Samuel de Champlain went with his father and his uncle on various voyages studied cartography, navigation, astronomy and mathematics, as stated from the website Samuel de Champlain Facts. His father was a mariner in the French navy so Champlain grew up around trade. As stated from the website land of the brave, very little is known of Champlain s childhood.
