 Dolphin Automation has wide variety of products like
GPS vehicle tracking system, GSM CDMA FWP, Signal
Booster Repeater etc.
 Today we will give brief information about GSM GPRS
Modem.
 GSM stands for Global System foe Mobile
Communication.
 GSM is a standard developed by European
Telecommunication Standards Institute (ETSI) to describe
protocol for 2G digital cellular networks used by mobile
phones.
 The GSM standard originally described a digital circuit-
switched network optimized for full duplex voice telephony.
 GPRS stands for General Packet Radio Services.
 GPRS is packet oriented mobile data services on 2G & 3G
cellular communication system’s for GSM.
 GPRS was originally standardized by European
Telecommunication Standard Institute (ETSI) in response to
earlier CDPD & i-mode packet switched cellular
technologies. But now it is maintained by 3GPP ( 3rd
Generation Partnership Project).
 SMS
 Broadcasting
 MMS
 Push To Talk over cellular (POC)
 WAP
 P2P & P2M
 A modem (Modulator-Demodulator) is a device that
modulates signal to encode digital information &
demodulates signal to decode the transmitted information.
 Modem’s task is to produce a signal that can be transmitted
easily & decoded to produce original digital data.
 Modem can be used with any means of transmitting analog
signals, from LED to radio.
 For computer, modem converts the digital data into
modulated electrical signal for transmission over telephones
lines & demodulated by another modem at the receiver side
to recover the digital data.
 Wavecom GSM 8-port Modem
 16-port GSM Modem (Rj45)
 32-port GSM Modem
 64-port GSM Modem
 8-port GSM Bulk SMS Modem
