The document describes a group project analyzing a three mass, four spring vibratory system with an attached vibration absorber consisting of a small additional mass and spring. The group analyzed the system's resonance frequencies and mode shapes both with and without the absorber. They then iteratively tested different absorber mass and spring values to minimize the amplitude of one of the main masses, achieving near-zero amplitude with a mass of 9 and spring of 2. Proper tuning of the absorber's mass and spring was shown to effectively dampen vibrations in the system.
