Why Does Jesus Use The Sign Of Jonah
First, his comments from Luke 11:29ff:
When the crowds were increasing, He began to say, This generation is an evil generation, it seeks for a
sign but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah. For as Jonah became a sign to the people
of Nineveh, so will the Son of Man be to this generation...the men of Nineveh will rise up at the
judgement with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and
behold, someone greater than Jonah is here.
We should note that Jesus does not use this occasion to condemn Jonah or praise him. The sign of
Jonah is not said to be his three days and nights in the fish, but rather that he preached God s word to
that generation of Ninevites as Jesus was preaching God s word to His generation. What s more, Jesus

By refraining from making the clear connection between Jonah and the elder son, Jesus may be yet
again be extending one more kindness to Jonah.
Now, some additional observations on Jesus comments concerning Jonah:
Jesus is silent regarding Jonah s aberrant behavior and salvation, probably because, at this point, this
was not His purpose in citing Jonah.
The issue addressed by Jesus was the failure of His Jewish listeners to hear, repent and believe God as
the pagan Ninevites had done.
Jesus was complimenting the Ninevites, not Jonah nor His listeners.
Jesus comparison of Himself to Jonah had to do with their common experience in their call, preaching,
suffering, death (or near death in the case of Jonah) and return to life, rather than a comparison of the
holiness of their character. It must be noted, however, that Jesus does say that He is greater than Jonah.
This, I think, says it all. Although they had some common experiences, in reality, Jesus and Jonah
were miles apart in their embrace of the Father and His loving plan for the

Analysis Of The Movie The Dark Knight
What is the typical menu of villainous images placed before us when we dine out at a movie theater?
A scientist has his face deep cleaned in a bell jar of acid to the epidermal enthusiasm of his beauticians
(Darkman); a psychopathic criminal mastermind reigns chaos to the citizens of Gotham (The Dark
Knight) and another sequel, eight years on, despite his tarnished reputation after the events of The
Dark Knight, in which he took the rap for Dent s crimes, caped crusader feels compelled to intervene
to assist the city and its police force which is struggling to cope with the villain s (who knows the
caped crusader all too well) plans to destroy the city (The Dark Knight Rises). This raises the
question; Is the role of the villain in Hollywood important for a successful movie? In the movie
industry, the success of a movie is based on the amount of revenue the movie brings in, creativity
(whether it be time frame or characters), and the story line of the movie. But in order to form a valid
opinion on whether or not a villain is needed in a movie to be considered successful, first we must
discuss the history of movies that included villains, iconic movie villains and the success of their
movies, and finally, the importance of the villain in cinema. Literature Review/Background America s
collective unconscious has always been reflected and amplified by the portrayal of Hollywood
villains. If one wanted to understand the big picture broad strokes of America, there is no better

Summary Of Gabriel Garcia Márquez s Of Love And Other Demons
Throughout history, society has often fought over the ideologies that govern and influence our lives
and behavior. Conflict happens when beliefs and principles are challenged which leads to the brutality
many innocent people end up enduring. Sierva María in Of Love and Other Demons, by Gabriel
García Márquez faces these cruel treatments during the conflict between ideologies in the time period
which the novel takes place in. Of Love and Other Demons, takes place in a South American country
in the eighteenth century during the time of the Spanish Inquisition. Sierva María is the only child
born to an old noble family whose mother hated her the moment she was born, and whose father shy
and afraid of life. She was raised by the Marquis s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Sierva María celebrated her twelfth birthday in her true home and with her true family, which took
place in the courtyard of the slaves (Márquez 12). She herself identified more closely with the African
culture than she did with the one she was born into. The fact that she could dance with more grace and
fire than the Africans, sing in voices different from her own in the various languages of Africa, proves
that she would not fit well into the noble, white culture when her father demanded that she come live
in his house (Márquez 12). Sierva María resisted her father s attempts to introduce her back into
society s norms, She did not pray before she went to bed and did not speak when spoken to or asked
questions. She refused to learn how to read and write and had no patience to learn. Her teacher the
Marquis had hired said, It is not that the girl is unfit for everything, it is that she is not of this world,
(Márquez 44). Azcuy also makes note in her essay, García Márquez deliberately evokes the historical
fact that Cartagena was the center for the Inquisition s Holy Office Court, (Azcuy 3). Sierva María
was openly defying Christian behavior in the epicenter of religious persecution. She was troubled
having to learn elements of a different

The Golden Age Of Hollywood
From 1920s, Hollywood became one of the most notable businesses in America. The great
development of film technology and those countless creative ideas put most of the Americans into a
feeding frenzy. However, the golden age of Hollywood experienced the impact of World War II, which
led to the significant changes in film industry. At the beginning of 1960s, European film industry
gradually moved its focus to creativity and aesthetics, and the auteur theory gained more and more
attention. American films were also influenced by these European art films. Due to the development of
video filming technology, it was easier and cheaper to shoot and produce works, so that more young
people became able to show their ideas and do independent films. ... Show more content on

Although it is because of his love to Holly, all the things he does to the guiltless father shows his
violent and remorseless characteristic, which is quite different from the traditional hero in a teen film.
The whole story is based on a real life murder spree of Charles Starkweather and his girlfriend. To
follow Starkweather s action, Kit also kills three bounty hunters, his friend Cato and an innocent
teenage couple who just arrive to visit Cato. It seems that killing people is his way to solve problems.
Compared to Badlands, Kit s idol Jim Stark still shows sympathy to his best friend Plato, and tries to
protect Plato until the end. The title Rebel without a cause may be even more suitable to describe Kit s
action that the film does not set a clear conflict between him and the real world. What Kit mainly does
is dresses a white T shirt, jeans and boots to look like James Dean, and imitates some rebellious
actions. Holly proves the reason for falling love with him in her voice over at the beginning, He
looked just like James Dean (Brickman 2014). The initial attraction of Kit is basically due to the
imagination of a dream lover from a simple and pure 15 year old girl. After a period of killing and
escaping, Holly pays less and less attention on Kit, and she starts to refuse Kit s crazy rebel, which
proves that Kit himself is not an engaging character. Furthermore, as

Dangers And Disadvantages Of Right To Counsel
The Right to Counsel was not established until 1923 when the United States Supreme Court realized
in Powell v. Alabama; defendants filed an appeal claiming they should have been provided, counsel.
(Hall, 2014) However, the right to counsel was not founded upon the Sixth Amendment to be exact it
was the Fourteenth Amendment. The Court reasoned the absence of counsel deprives a person of a fair
trial. Courts have rules and laws that the average person does not understand; nonetheless, why
represent yourself if you lack the education of law? In 1975, the first case to establish the right to self
representation was Faretta v. California 422 U.S. 806. The Supreme Court recognized that the
assistance of trained legal counsel is essential to preparing and presenting a defense (Hall, 2014,
p.572). Therefore, a defendant who chooses to act as his or her own counsel (pro se) increases the
probability of a conviction. Therefore, a defendant who chooses to represent themselves, a judge may
appoint a standby counsel to take over if necessary during a trial. The Sixth Amendment gives a
person the right to counsel, and it is not the only constitutional provision assuring counsel, the Fifth
and Fourteenth Amendments in some circumstances does as well. (Hall, 2014) A defendant must be
made aware of the dangers and disadvantages of self representation (Hall, 2014, p. 572). Some States
only allow a defendant to represent themselves if they re indigent. Defendants estimate the cost of trial

breaking the norm Essay example
Breaking the Norms When each of us was conceived, we did not have anything influencing our
perception of the world. While we were growing up and still do this day, our surroundings influenced
the way we think and the how we behave in our daily lives. We get ideas about gender roles from our
parents, our teachers, television, books and even subconsciously. As part of a project to break the
norms of society and push past peoples thresholds, I needed to figure out what made people feel
uncomfortable. I thought for a moment and decided to tackle homophobia. I choose this topic because
very few men are comfortable talking about the subject of gay men. It is my objective to better
understand why men think the way we ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When my friend told me I looked like a sissy, I thought more about it. The terms sissy is sometimes
used when referring to a boy who is feminine. According to our notes, femininity and masculinity are
tightly bound to our gender roles. Men are expected to be strong, rough, and have stamina. We are not
supposed to wear tight fitting bellbottoms and we should avoid colors like pink and purple. These are
feminine colors. The man in the family is usually the person who should provide money and build a
career. On the other hand, women traditionally are supposed to be tender and loving mothers and
wives, to wear skirts and to walk on high heels. They should not have careers, but should take care of
the kids and the house. It seems that these perceptions have been existing forever, and one reason is
because from early childhood we are taught by our parents that pink is for girls, and blue is for boys.
Even before the children are born, parents begin choosing clothing and decorations by color based on
the sex of the baby. The stereotype of pink, pastels, yellow and white for girls and bright or dark
colors like green, blue and red for boys has long been a part of culture. How many times have you
heard kids argue over toys because girls don t want that icky boy color or the boys don t want the
gross girl color? This

The Supremes Role In Popular Music During The 1960 s
Ever since 2011, The Supremes has been the vocal group that most interests me. Originally called the
Primettes , this female singing group was founded in 1959 and has since been one the most successful
groups to date, in America. (Bronson, 265) The singing group had four original members, yet only
three of the four made it to the peak of the group s career; those women being Diane Ross, Mary
Wilson, and Florence Ballard. Proof to this group s success would be the fact that they rivaled the
band The Beatles in worldwide success and fame during their prime in the 60s. Not only did they
challenge another wildly known band, they did this whilst also making a headway for future
generations of African American musicians, which contributes to ... Show more content on

(Pompei) The instrumentals of The Supremes have some intriguing similarities to the music of the
Ancient Romans; relying on heavy back beats and percussion instruments bells and tambourines to
amplify the background sounds. (Etc.usf.edu) Although there is this similarity, the Romans did not use
harmonies in their music and were not known for being original in their styles of music. Though The
Supremes had very original harmonies and melodies, they had no obvious inspirations or influences.
The lack of both harmonies and melodies in Roman music and the abundance of them in The
Supremes is the starkest contrast in their compositions, despite the similarities in their musical back
beats. That being said, it is very likely that they picked up bits and pieces from other legendary R
B/soul artists, such as the Temptations, Marvin Gaye, and Stevie Wonder, all of whom the Supremes

Led by Musial s hot bat, the loose, inexperienced Cardinals surprised everyone by winning 106

Musial was disliked by Brooklyn Dodgers fans, who bestowed his nickname. Groaning when he came

Musial had an unorthodox batting stance. He crouched down to make the strike zone smaller, held his

The Civil Rights Act Did Not Happen Over Night
The Civil Rights Act did not happen over night; however, many fought for it and soon prevailed.
During John F Kennedy s presidency the Civil Rights Act was begun. The bill was called for by
President John F. Kennedy address of the nation on June 11, 1963. The President gave a speech asking
for a law giving all Americans the right to be served in all places which are open to the public Motels,
restaurants, movies, clothing stores, as well as the right to vote . President Kennedy made this speech
after protests from the Black community about how they were being mistreated, the most current
being the Birmingham campaign which ended in May 1963. There were many factors to the civil
rights act of 1964 from presidents to normal civilians . In today s society the Civil Rights Act is
allowing equal opportunities for everyone. The Civil Rights was not just an act it was a movement
fought for almost twenty years. Starting in 1948 with Truman s executive order 9981 that gave
equality in the military (infoplease.com, Brunner). Then in 1054 the case of Brown versus Board of
Education of Topeka, Kansas, was finalized with the decision that segregation within public schools
was wrong. In august of 1955 the tragedy of Emmett Till occurred, where he was brutally murdered.
There are many more effects of the Civil Rights act, but these were some of the turning points.

Approximately 400 of the men had syphilis and 200 did not at the start of the study. The purpose of
the study was to record the history and progression of untreated syphilis, which at the time had no

result, many of the participants, their wives, children and others had been infected and untreated. As

Story of a Holocaust Survivor
I pray you never stand at any crossroads in your own lives, but if you do, if the darkness seems so
total, if you think there is no way out, remember, never ever give up. The darker the night, the brighter
the dawn, and when it gets really, really dark, this is when one sees the true brilliance of the stars.
These words were spoken by Gerda Klein, a Holocaust survivor. Her story is filled with desperation
and an overwhelming sense of hope. Gerda Weissmann was born in Bielsko, Poland. Both of her
parents and her older brother died during the Holocaust. She was somehow able to survive the ghetto,
deportation, slave labor camps and a three month death march. She was rescued by an American
soldier named Kurt Klein. She ended up marrying him and moving to the United States. Her story is
an example of a person who struggled with adversity but searched for a reason to hope. She has used
her remarkable survival as an inspiration for those who have no reason to believe they can overcome
struggles. She has a foundation named Citizenship Counts which teaches students about their rights
and the importance of their citizenship. She has written many books about her experiences and her
belief that hope will help a person overcome darkness. She travels the world today telling people her
story to increase their knowledge of the Holocaust. Her story of survival serves of as an inspiration to
people who are suffering and are looking for a reason to have hope.¹ Mrs. Klein s

personality and usually does not express her feelings. Mr. Bingley, wealthy with a kind personality, is
attracted to Miss Bennet since their first dance. During the time period of this book, women must find
lovers in order to marry and stay within social traditions. When Jane s shy character seems to give off
the impression of being detached in Bingley, Darcy immediately intervenes. Darcy is the reason
Bingley leaves Jane for months. In Darcy s letter to Elizabeth, he mentions his reasoning for

Bingley, she is indifferent to him. Although this separation did hurt both of the characters, it ended up
strengthening their relationship with distance. Just like the famous saying distance makes the heart
grow fonder . The second instance in which they break traditions is when Mr. Bingley overlooks the
Bennet family s ridiculousness. We read about many different scenarios where the Bennets do not
have proper behavior. For example, Lydia, the youngest of the Bennets, has an elopement with Mr.
Wickham. This elopement practically disgraces the family name and Lydia displays the ring like it is
an honorable achievement, even though it is not something to be proud of. A wealthy man like Mr.
Bingley can choose any women in England, but he is only interested in Jane. When Lady Catherine is
roughly trying to convince Elizabeth to not marry Darcy, she brings up Lydia s elopement: is such a
girl to be my nephew s sister (338)? Lady Catherine does not want Mr. Dancy to have such a
ridiculous sister; it would disgrace her family. You could say the same stands for Bingley, he puts up
with all the ridiculousness that comes from the Bennets, instead of turning the other

Pros And Cons Of Lowering The Drinking Age
Your daughter is driving home one Friday evening, after a late shift working at the local hospital. It s

car, she gets hit head on. The cops appear at the scene she is pronounced dead the other driver, an
eighteen year old, is transported to the hospital in handcuffs: arrested for drunk driving, and illegal
consumption of alcohol. Now you are left without a daughter. Forever devastated by the loss, your
families lives have been changed forever. Accidents like these occur and leave families in shambles,
and the number of these accidents would be much higher if the legal drinking age was lowered to
eighteen years old. By keeping the drinking age at twenty one years old we would efficiently reduce
the number of these tragic accidents. The minimum legal drinking age (MLDA) is a controversial
issue over whether or not it should be lowered to the age of eighteen. It is shown that keeping the
MLDA of twenty one would benefit society in multiple ways. A MLDA of twenty one was historically
shown to be better than an age of eighteen, by showing it saved lives. A drinking age of twenty one
also proves to be more beneficial for the adolescent brain, would change college drinking, and would
reduce the number of drunk driving accidents. While many students think lowering the minimum legal
drinking age (MLDA) to eighteen would be a good idea, it would actually destroy lives, brain

managers with the responsibility to ensure that the bottom line is profit. A profitable business typically

consumers that make profit possible. There are countless ways that the collection and methods of

Canada s Immigration System Act
On June 28, 2012, the Protecting Canada s Immigration System Act (Bill C 31) took effect. This act
was put in place to bring further reforms to the asylum system, add measures to address human
smuggling, and add the requirement to include biometric data as part of a temporary resident visa,
work permit, and study permit application. These changes were claimed to help the system to function
better, cut down wait time, make the process faster, screen applicants better, and to prevent needless
complications. This resulted in many changes to Canada s asylum system. There were four changes
made to the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB). The first change was replacing the
Basis of Claim (BOC) form with the Personal Information Form (PIF). This change meant that people
who make a refugee claim at an office in Canada must submit a completed BOC during their
eligibility interview. If they made a refugee claim at a port of entry then they must submit their BOC
to the IRB no later than 15 days after their claim is referred to the IRB. Another change made was that
the hearings at the (IRB) would be conducted by public servant decision makers rather than people
appointed by the Governor in Council (GIC). Also, hearings for most claimants would be held no later
than 60 days after the refugee claim is referred to the IRB. And finally, for claimants from designated
countries of origin, their hearings would be held no later than 45 days after referral to the IRB for

ideas of eating healthily into me. So, I wanted to combine the two ideas in the field of chemistry. As I
continued my research, I discovered some labs mentioning vitamin C concentrations in food, and that
there might be changed in concentration based on cooking method. When I saw this, I decided that
this was precisely the kind of IA that I was looking for. Before beginning additional research, I had not
given much thought to vitamin C at all when consuming foods. As I began more research, I learned
quite a bit about the importance of vitamin C consumption. As it turns out, it prevents against illnesses
such as scurvy, which was extremely prevalent amongst sailors due to the amount of time they spent
away from land and most fruits, which would spoil on a ship. This only furthered my interest in the
subject of vitamin C, or ascorbic acid, and as such, my IA became entirely about vitamin C, and the
concentrations of it based on cooking method. In order to obtain good data, I quickly researched what
fruits might have the greatest concentrations of vitamin C. I quickly came across the bell pepper,
which then varies in colour from red to green to yellow. This is where things

Academic Coaching With Austin Is Going Well Essay
Academic coaching with Austin seems to still be going well. Except for the fact that he still forgets to
meet with me... and we meet at the same time and day of the week every week. I don t know how to
approach this topic with him again because I already went over it and expressed that I need him to
communicate with me about his absences. I was talking with one of my supervisors about it and she
believes that he needs to be the one making first contact about missing appointments, instead of just
responding when I reach out. He just always seems to have such good excuses. This week he was at a
review session for his midterm. I just need him to communicate. I really don t care if we reschedule
later in the week but I hate looking like an idiot when he doesn t show up. This semester we have
known that Austin will struggle in one of his classes, and he took a test and did poorly on it.
Unfortunately, he had the pleasure of finding this out for the first time when he logged into asulearn in
my office. I felt bad. Immediately his demeanor changed and I could tell that he was upset.
I tried to use this situation to let him know that sometimes crappy situations happen but that isn t a
reason to stop trying. Working with him for a while now has taught me that he needs to explore
multiple options and talk them through with others. So I had him talk through all of his grades so far,
and what he could do with all of the opportunities he has remaining. For example, in this class he has

Funerals In Ancient Roman Funerals
During all parts of the existence of Rome, burials and funerals were extremely important, even more
so than weddings. The Romans believed that without a proper burial, a spirit would cause unhappiness
for those living. While rites varied throughout different periods, traditions remained vastly, and always
had the same importance. Funeral ceremonies were extremely elaborate, especially for upper class
citizens. Funerals had five parts in Ancient Rome; the procession, the cremation and burial, the eulogy,
the feast, and the commemoration. Ceremonies began closely after death, as soon as all necessary
preparations were made. At the home, the deceased s body would be washed with warm water and
then anointed. If the deceased person had held office, a wax impression of his features would be taken.
Next, the body would be dressed in in a toga with all the regalia of the rank he was allowed to wear.
Incense would be burned and pine woul dbe places outside the door to signify death in the house. In
early and late times, when burial was more popular than cremation, a coing would be placed in
between the teeth of the deceased, as payment for Charon, the ferryman of the underworld. These rites
were simplified in poorer funerals, as well as done by a family member. However, for the rich, an
undertaker, or designator, would do so().
The funeral procession took up the bulk of the ceremony, and stretched from the deceased s home all
the way to their grave. Graves were not allowed to be

A Profile Of Hamilton Albert Fish
A Profile of Hamilton Albert Fish
In the early summer of 1870 a forth child, Hamilton, was born into the home of Randall and Ellen Fish
of Washington, DC. The Fish family had a history of severe mental disorders: an paternal uncle who
had been diagnosed with religious psychosis, a maternal uncle who was diagnosed with schizophrenia,
and his mother claimed she had visions. Hamilton s siblings also had problems: his brother was
confined to a state mental hospital, his sister was diagnosed with a mental affliction, and his youngest
brother was slow witted and an alcoholic(Wertham, 2012). In 1870, little was known about the lineage
of schizophrenia , its sub types, and how it could effect future generations. Today we know genetic
factors may lead to schizophrenia and its sub types(Esterberg,2010). Little Hamilton Fish was born
with a vulnerability to schizophrenia and its sub types. This type of genetic vulnerability is called a
genetic marker. It is easier to think of a genetic marker as a genetic light switch, while not all switches
are turned on, some times a factor comes along and switches it to the on position; thus, the person
develops the genetic disorder. The traits and subtypes of this disorder in individuals who have been
abused can develop in to a perceived evil that will shock and strike terror in to society. In 1874,
Randall Fish died of a heart attack. Unable to care for her children Randall Fish s wife,Ellen Fish,

Starting At A New School
Starting at a New School
The first day of school can be terrifying for some students. However, there are some important and
helpful tips that can help start your journey on the right track, such as how to handle with those who
are racist, how to face people who do the bullying, how to make friends in the classroom and
extracurricular activities, and how to handle outside influences that impact on students learning.
Starting at a new school can be challenging for some new students.
New students may experience racism at a new school. As cited from the American Heritage College
Dictionary1, racism has two definitions. The first is the belief that race accounts for differences in
human character or ability and that a particular race is superior to others. Second is discrimination or
prejudice based on race. Arnold Spirit, Jr. grew up on the Spokane Indian Reservation located just
west of Spokane, Washington. As a young teenager, he knew that it would be a challenge for him,
being the only Native American student besides the team mascot attending an all white school but
Arnold went ahead anyway. Arnold thought that learning from the white kids would benefit him so he
determined to leave the reservation to go to Reardan, in order to get a better education. According to
Desmond Tutu, If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.

Homeless And Homelessness
The word homeless is used to describe a person without a home, and therefore typically living on the
streets. Homelessness is described as part of a vicious circle that is difficult for many to escape.
More temporary shelters and rehabilitation sessions to help individuals find employment should be
provided to assist the homeless in recovering their previous life.
Many homeless individuals, especially the young, have fallen victim to a complex mesh of social,
economic and mental disadvantages. In 2009, a study by social researchers in Melbourne s RMIT
showed that 30% of homeless people suffered from a mental disorder.

Unethical Animal Testing
Many people often oversee the effects of animal testing. This has been going on for decades and many
are unaware of the results and the damages animal testing can cause. Animals undergo a lot of stress
and pain when they are put through experimentations. Many have debated that it is unethical to test on
animals while others say it helps to protect the safety of humans. In my opinion, animal testing is cruel
and should be made illegal. Their lives are just as important as human lives and should not be treated
as experimental animals. The system of an animal differs from the human system, therefore even if a
tested product did not harm the animal, it may or may not be harmful to humans. Hence, our body
system reactions differ from the bodies of an animal. It has been scientifically proven that 90% of the
animals being tested in labs results in death while only a handful of animal experiments are successful.
There are multiple alternative methods rather than forcefully harming innocent animals. I will explore
how animal testing can affect the health of the animals and if there is possibly a better alternative
rather than testing on animals.

Essay On Gratitude Is A Natural Anti-Depressant
Studies have found that regularly practicing gratitude has a positive effect on the firing of our brain
neurons, by way of activating positive emotion centers, ultimately changing our brain chemistry. It s
similar to forging a new path when walking through a wooded area. The first few times may be a bit
challenging and we have to be calculated and deliberate, but the more we travel the path, the clearer it
is and easier it becomes to follow. This change in brain chemistry leads to a heightened well being in
all realms mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, and social. When these positive emotion centers are
activated, Dopamine and Serotonin are produced and have similar effects to many anti depressants. In
other words, gratitude is a natural anti depressant. Research has shown that consciously focusing on
our blessings improves our ability to self soothe as well as allows us to develop a more expansive
view of our lives. It opens space for more creative and flexible ... Show more content on

As humans, we have a tendency to pinpoint and pick out the things that aren t right. We complain and
moan and find ourselves miserable. We may even consider ourselves victims of life. The thing is,
though, is that each difficulty we find ourselves dealing with does in fact hold a gem of wisdom, and
can, if we so choose, become an opportunity to practice gratitude.
Life isn t out to get us. Life works for us and through us. Becoming more grateful ensures not only
more well being, but more opportunities to be grateful. It s simple law of attraction. What we focus
on, we will continue to experience. Of course, there will always be things that aren t going as we want
them to. The idea is that regular practice of gratitude strengthens our ability to simply see them, but
not attach ourselves to them, which will undoubtedly open space for us to witness the divine gifts and
miracles that are constantly bestowed upon us despite these

Essay on Alexanders divinity
What evidence is there that Alexander may have believed that he was of divine descent? And how
convincing would this evidence have appeared to one of his followers?
From studying the sources of the ancient world that talk about Alexander The Great, it is clear that
many of them present Alexander as being some type of heroic figure or Demi god. However you could
question whether Alexander believed this himself. Only by studying his actions and the actions of
those around him can we draw any type of conclusion on this matter. This can be done through the use
of sources that exist from the time of and around his death. Most of these sources have been lost or are
incomplete however, so I feel that it would be best to mainly consult the ... Show more content on

So this may be why he visited the temple, not out of any personal belief that he was descended from
Ammon, but instead, out of a sense of duty or to appear to be taking the fact that he was made Pharaoh
by the Egyptian people as being a great honour. More over by visiting the temple he would be making
his Egyptian subjects happy. Arrian further states that other accounts say that Alexander went to the
temple so that he could gain Ammon s approval before founding Alexandria. This would seem
plausible since, although there is question whether or not Alexander believed that he was of divine
descent, it cannot be doubted that he took worship of the gods very seriously. And he would most
certainly want a god of Ammon s statures approval on something as important as the founding of
Alexandria.
Later Arrian states that when Alexander arrived at the temple, the priest answered the question of his
divinity by greeting him as son of Ammon . This is, by Arrian s wording, what his heart desired . This
would once again indicate that both he and others around him did truly believe that he was of divine
descent. Although Arrian is somewhat sceptical as to whether Alexander truly did crave this answer or
if that is just what he said because it is what other people wanted to hear.
Plutarch writes that some accounts say that when Alexander entered the temple the priest wished to
greet him by saying O, paidion meaning

The Space Of Space Travel
Introduction
Space travel is a propelled trip outside our planet. This trip will be either by a spacecraft that contains
human inside it or just a controllable spacecraft so engineers or whoever works in the earth station can
control this spacecraft. We do space travel because we want to discover more about the universe like
how it started and where did our planet come from and if we are by our own or there are other
creatures living somewhere else in the universe.
Background
Space exploration became part of human accomplishments after the discoveries and theoretical that
been discovered by Konstantin Tsiolkovsky and Robert H. In 1957 The soviet union came at the top of
the list by launching the first artificial satellite. After a couple of years, on 1961, the Russian astronaut
became the first human to orbit the earth he lasted 108 minutes in his trip and he reached 327km
height. It was like a race between the soviet union and the United States both sides trying hard to
discover new things and do more space exploration, however in 1969 the United States made a big
achievement in this race through the Apollo 11 mission, the target of this mission was to land on the
moon by a spacecraft that contains human inside it and the astronaut Neil Armstrong was the first
human who walked on the moon. The journey took four days and the astronauts spent 21 hours on the
moon surface and they were able to go back to earth safely, it was a big step in mankind s history. In

Active Place Avoidance Task, to show that adult born immature neurons are necessary in order for a
subject to successfully obtain spatial learning. This article is useful to the research topic as the same
animal model is used for the observation of the importance of microglia on anxiety in rats. A
limitation of the study is that the results obtained during the spatial recall portion of the study were not
supported by previous studies on the role of immature neurons in the adult brain in spatial memory
recall, and should be further investigated. Overall, the authors observed that immature, adult born
neurons are important in spatial task learning however, their presence does not appear to have a

Two basic types of fireworks are the firecracker and sparkler. Firecrackers are simply made of rolled
paper tubes with black powder, which is made of a strong oxider, and a fuse, which adds heat to the
oxider, resulting in a boom . Sparklers are just a little bit different they are essentially a long fuse with
black powder around it, so they stay lit longer and show color. The color comes from a reaction with
specific metals like aluminium, copper, and zinc(How Are Fireworks Made?). The fireworks that most
professional shows contain are known as the aerial fireworks. They are normally made of shells
containing black powder, the mortar itself, stars, shell, bursting charge, and fuse. The stars in the
fireworks are spread out in the shell and they create the sparkling like figure. The bursting charge is in
the center and when the lit fuse hits it, the firework explodes (How Are Fireworks Made?). Some also

Integrative Paper: Comparing and contrasting the concepts of IKM and Kotter
1. Stage one: Establishing a Sense of Urgency in our fast paced world, things and environments
change rapidly. In order to meet the needs and demands of an ever changing marketplace,
organizations also need to change and adapt very quickly. With success hinging on the ability of the
institution to analyze, predict and adjust in order to meet the market demands and successfully cope
with rapidity of change (IKM, pg 7) establishing a sense of urgency as explained by Kotter would be
critical (Leading Change, pg 35). To influence anyone or any organization to move towards any type

The example of Southwest Airlines and the success of founder, Herb Kelleher illustrates how
leadership being involved in all aspects of the organization and leading by example can drive an
organization to very high levels while the example of the California Electronics firm, though it
appeared they were doing everything right failed miserably and eventually went bankrupt (IKM, pgs
38 40). I believe the two types of individuals Kotter speaks of as killers of successful change are not
unlike many we have all worked with and around. While Kotter does a great job of bringing to light
something we probably all knew but had never really defined, Buss is bold enough to borderline
categorize these actions as misbehavior (IKM, pg 208). I have worked around many as Kotter
described, snakes and big egos and as I think about the outright damage caused by these personality
types Kotter could have gone farther in his assessment but he does advocate dealing with the problem
at an early stage vs. being relegated to curse ourselves later for not dealing with the issue (Leading
Change, pg 61). Based on my own personal observations while the snake is busy spreading rumors,
talking behind backs and perpetuating mistrust after the damage is done, the big ego loves to
constantly withhold valuable information cause crisis situations and fly in to save the day. In efforts to

circumstances in their poems show a lot about the difference that social class and gender make in the

inns they would stop in a tavern, which is the main tone changing setting of the poem: The tavern tells
the gloomy tale (73). The tavern is where her lover kills Johnny after her cruel joke. Once everyone
has either been killed or passed away she is left to Haunting the Western Moor. (104) She is alone with
no lover, no friends and no child in a mossy graveyard like field to live out the rest of her days.

wants to be like. They want his money, his clothes, and his attitude. The speaker of the poem says,
Whenever Richard Cory went downtown / We people on the pavement looked at him (1,2). This quote
creates a complete distinction how Richard Cory is separate and singled out from we people . The
speaker does not realize they are singling Richard out but they seem to think that he is too good for

Comparing The Marketing Strategy Of Two Adult Learning...
When comparing and contrasting the marketing strategy of two adult learning programs one must
consider the University of Phoenix as one of those programs. The second that of a traditional
university program with an online, adult centered add on program. Both programs require a marketing
strategy that focus on the adult learner as consumer, but the University of Phoenix simply does
marketing for adults more efficiently. This is likely due to the fact that by and large, the University of
Phoenix is primarily an online program, with its focus squarely on the adult learner. Traditional
university programs are somewhat burdened by the need to adapt an existing marketing strategy to
include adult learning, which can leave questions on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Traditional programs offer easily navigable websites for the traditional student, one just out of high
school and seeking a dorm life experience, but should work on a strategy to include and entice those
returning to school with families and career already in place, including video testimonials, program
previews, transfer credit calculators, plain English knowledge bases, live chat, and unfiltered social
media conversations (Maslowsky, 2012). University of Phoenix accomplishes this through the
interactive website, targeted commercials in adult learner rich audience demographics, and easily
navigated web content. Adult learner programs at traditional universities target the traditional college
student, and by and large their websites have information for the adult earner tacked on to pages and
pages of information about the dorm life, meal plans, and campus life. This is a fundamental
difference that bears exploration, and likely frustrates potential students and sends them to a system
which, like University of Phoenix, offers a more tailored approach for the busy adult learner who
wishes to study from home.
As regards web content, the sites for any program should be easily located by prospective students.
The path to a full enrollment begins with content that is optimized for ease of location by potential
students. A professional web content manager, who works to put the program at the top

Disadvantages of a private limited company are that profits have to be shared out between the
shareholders and they are more expensive to set up.
Public limited company Plc
A public limited company sells their shares through the stock exchange. Companies can have a ‘full
quotation put ton the stock exchange so their share prices appear on the dealers screens. The main
advantage of selling shares on the stock exchange is that large amounts of capital can be raised very
quickly. A disadvantage is that a business can be taken over if a large amount of shares are bought in a
take over bid. It also costs a lot to have shares quoted on the stock exchange.
To create a public limited company, the directors must apply to the stock exchange council, which will
check their accounts.
The business which wants to ‘go public will then have to arrange for one of the merchant banks to
handle their paperwork. Selling new shares is quite risky as the stock exchange has good and bad days
where people want to buy lots of shares or sell lots of shares. You have to be very careful when you set
your business up as if it is done on a bad day where people want to sell their shares they may not be
able to sell all their shares so it is all about luck.
A way round this problem is to arrange a ‘placing with a merchant bank. The bank will then
recommend the company s to some of the share buying institutions which it deals with such a pensions
funds and

The Portrayal Analysis Of The Wild Hearts CanT Be Broken
Andrew Young once said, There s no problem on the planet that can t be solved without violence. That
s the lesson of the civil rights movement. Throughout any movement in U.S. history, including the
Civil Rights Movement people had to make sacrifices in order to fight for what they believe to be
right. Some people even lost their lives, which are some of the sacrifices Pink is trying to tell us in her
song, but she never will give up not matter the circumstances. The song, Wild Hearts Can t Be Broken,
relates to the Civil Rights Movement because they both represent how groups of people never gave up
for what they believe in. Throughout the song, Wild Hearts Can t Be Broken, Pink talks about the
rage, terror, and sickness that is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some examples of these were: African Americans can t play together, they can t attend the same
restaurants, schools, or even restrooms, and that white nurses in hospitals can t help an African
American male. From these laws came sacrifices that African Americans had to endure, even to the
point of death. A couple of the important deaths were Emmett Till who got killed after he flirted with a
white girl, and George Lee who tried to expose some of the Jim Crow Laws, and died during one of
his protests. These deaths were quite common until a man named, Martin Luther King Jr. came into
the picture. At the beginning of his campaign he wanted three things to happen: Bring publicity to
major civil rights activities and efforts, emphasize and encourage the importance of non violent protest
and resistance, provide leadership to the African American civil rights movement. He did just that
throughout the Civil Rights Movement, and was a major contributor to the ending of the movement in
1968. In both the Civil Rights Movement and the song Wild Hearts Can t Be Broken, they both had to
make sacrifices, but neither of them stopped them from reaching their goal. By never giving up for
what they believe in, African Americans in the Civil Rights Movement, and people in the song, Wild
Hearts Can t Be Broken, both made sacrifices for they believe in. In the song, Wild

  • 2. Why Does Jesus Use The Sign Of Jonah First, his comments from Luke 11:29ff: When the crowds were increasing, He began to say, This generation is an evil generation, it seeks for a sign but no sign will be given to it except the sign of Jonah. For as Jonah became a sign to the people of Nineveh, so will the Son of Man be to this generation...the men of Nineveh will rise up at the judgement with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, someone greater than Jonah is here. We should note that Jesus does not use this occasion to condemn Jonah or praise him. The sign of Jonah is not said to be his three days and nights in the fish, but rather that he preached God s word to that generation of Ninevites as Jesus was preaching God s word to His generation. What s more, Jesus ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By refraining from making the clear connection between Jonah and the elder son, Jesus may be yet again be extending one more kindness to Jonah. Now, some additional observations on Jesus comments concerning Jonah: Jesus is silent regarding Jonah s aberrant behavior and salvation, probably because, at this point, this was not His purpose in citing Jonah. The issue addressed by Jesus was the failure of His Jewish listeners to hear, repent and believe God as the pagan Ninevites had done. Jesus was complimenting the Ninevites, not Jonah nor His listeners. Jesus comparison of Himself to Jonah had to do with their common experience in their call, preaching, suffering, death (or near death in the case of Jonah) and return to life, rather than a comparison of the holiness of their character. It must be noted, however, that Jesus does say that He is greater than Jonah. This, I think, says it all. Although they had some common experiences, in reality, Jesus and Jonah were miles apart in their embrace of the Father and His loving plan for the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Analysis Of The Movie The Dark Knight What is the typical menu of villainous images placed before us when we dine out at a movie theater? A scientist has his face deep cleaned in a bell jar of acid to the epidermal enthusiasm of his beauticians (Darkman); a psychopathic criminal mastermind reigns chaos to the citizens of Gotham (The Dark Knight) and another sequel, eight years on, despite his tarnished reputation after the events of The Dark Knight, in which he took the rap for Dent s crimes, caped crusader feels compelled to intervene to assist the city and its police force which is struggling to cope with the villain s (who knows the caped crusader all too well) plans to destroy the city (The Dark Knight Rises). This raises the question; Is the role of the villain in Hollywood important for a successful movie? In the movie industry, the success of a movie is based on the amount of revenue the movie brings in, creativity (whether it be time frame or characters), and the story line of the movie. But in order to form a valid opinion on whether or not a villain is needed in a movie to be considered successful, first we must discuss the history of movies that included villains, iconic movie villains and the success of their movies, and finally, the importance of the villain in cinema. Literature Review/Background America s collective unconscious has always been reflected and amplified by the portrayal of Hollywood villains. She herself identified more closely with the African culture than she did with the one she was born into. The fact that she could dance with more grace and fire than the Africans, sing in voices different from her own in the various languages of Africa, proves that she would not fit well into the noble, white culture when her father demanded that she come live in his house (Márquez 12). Sierva María resisted her father s attempts to introduce her back into society s norms, She did not pray before she went to bed and did not speak when spoken to or asked questions. The great development of film technology and those countless creative ideas put most of the Americans into a feeding frenzy. However, the golden age of Hollywood experienced the impact of World War II, which led to the significant changes in film industry. At the beginning of 1960s, European film industry gradually moved its focus to creativity and aesthetics, and the auteur theory gained more and more attention. Although it is because of his love to Holly, all the things he does to the guiltless father shows his violent and remorseless characteristic, which is quite different from the traditional hero in a teen film. The whole story is based on a real life murder spree of Charles Starkweather and his girlfriend. To follow Starkweather s action, Kit also kills three bounty hunters, his friend Cato and an innocent teenage couple who just arrive to visit Cato. It seems that killing people is his way to solve problems. Compared to Badlands, Kit s idol Jim Stark still shows sympathy to his best friend Plato, and tries to protect Plato until the end. The title Rebel without a cause may be even more suitable to describe Kit s action that the film does not set a clear conflict between him and the real world. What Kit mainly does is dresses a white T shirt, jeans and boots to look like James Dean, and imitates some rebellious actions. Holly proves the reason for falling love with him in her voice over at the beginning, He looked just like James Dean (Brickman 2014). The initial attraction of Kit is basically due to the imagination of a dream lover from a simple and pure 15 year old girl. • 7. Dangers And Disadvantages Of Right To Counsel The Right to Counsel was not established until 1923 when the United States Supreme Court realized in Powell v. Alabama; defendants filed an appeal claiming they should have been provided, counsel. (Hall, 2014) However, the right to counsel was not founded upon the Sixth Amendment to be exact it was the Fourteenth Amendment. The Court reasoned the absence of counsel deprives a person of a fair trial. Courts have rules and laws that the average person does not understand; nonetheless, why represent yourself if you lack the education of law? In 1975, the first case to establish the right to self representation was Faretta v. California 422 U.S. 806. The Supreme Court recognized that the assistance of trained legal counsel is essential to preparing and presenting a defense (Hall, 2014, p.572). Therefore, a defendant who chooses to act as his or her own counsel (pro se) increases the probability of a conviction. Therefore, a defendant who chooses to represent themselves, a judge may appoint a standby counsel to take over if necessary during a trial. The Sixth Amendment gives a person the right to counsel, and it is not the only constitutional provision assuring counsel, the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments in some circumstances does as well. (Hall, 2014) A defendant must be made aware of the dangers and disadvantages of self representation (Hall, 2014, p. 572). Men are expected to be strong, rough, and have stamina. We are not supposed to wear tight fitting bellbottoms and we should avoid colors like pink and purple. These are feminine colors. The man in the family is usually the person who should provide money and build a career. On the other hand, women traditionally are supposed to be tender and loving mothers and wives, to wear skirts and to walk on high heels. They should not have careers, but should take care of the kids and the house. It seems that these perceptions have been existing forever, and one reason is because from early childhood we are taught by our parents that pink is for girls, and blue is for boys. Even before the children are born, parents begin choosing clothing and decorations by color based on the sex of the baby. The stereotype of pink, pastels, yellow and white for girls and bright or dark colors like green, blue and red for boys has long been a part of culture. How many times have you heard kids argue over toys because girls don t want that icky boy color or the boys don t want the gross girl color? This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Originally called the Primettes , this female singing group was founded in 1959 and has since been one the most successful groups to date, in America. (Bronson, 265) The singing group had four original members, yet only three of the four made it to the peak of the group s career; those women being Diane Ross, Mary Wilson, and Florence Ballard. Proof to this group s success would be the fact that they rivaled the band The Beatles in worldwide success and fame during their prime in the 60s. Though The Supremes had very original harmonies and melodies, they had no obvious inspirations or influences. The lack of both harmonies and melodies in Roman music and the abundance of them in The Supremes is the starkest contrast in their compositions, despite the similarities in their musical back beats. The darker the night, the brighter the dawn, and when it gets really, really dark, this is when one sees the true brilliance of the stars. These words were spoken by Gerda Klein, a Holocaust survivor. Her story is filled with desperation and an overwhelming sense of hope. Gerda Weissmann was born in Bielsko, Poland. Both of her parents and her older brother died during the Holocaust. She was somehow able to survive the ghetto, deportation, slave labor camps and a three month death march. She was rescued by an American soldier named Kurt Klein. She ended up marrying him and moving to the United States. Her story is an example of a person who struggled with adversity but searched for a reason to hope. She has used her remarkable survival as an inspiration for those who have no reason to believe they can overcome struggles. She has a foundation named Citizenship Counts which teaches students about their rights and the importance of their citizenship. She has written many books about her experiences and her belief that hope will help a person overcome darkness. It is shown that keeping the MLDA of twenty one would benefit society in multiple ways. A MLDA of twenty one was historically shown to be better than an age of eighteen, by showing it saved lives. A drinking age of twenty one also proves to be more beneficial for the adolescent brain, would change college drinking, and would reduce the number of drunk driving accidents. • 19. Canada s Immigration System Act On June 28, 2012, the Protecting Canada s Immigration System Act (Bill C 31) took effect. This act was put in place to bring further reforms to the asylum system, add measures to address human smuggling, and add the requirement to include biometric data as part of a temporary resident visa, work permit, and study permit application. These changes were claimed to help the system to function better, cut down wait time, make the process faster, screen applicants better, and to prevent needless complications. This resulted in many changes to Canada s asylum system. There were four changes made to the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada (IRB). The first change was replacing the Basis of Claim (BOC) form with the Personal Information Form (PIF). This change meant that people who make a refugee claim at an office in Canada must submit a completed BOC during their eligibility interview. If they made a refugee claim at a port of entry then they must submit their BOC to the IRB no later than 15 days after their claim is referred to the IRB. Another change made was that the hearings at the (IRB) would be conducted by public servant decision makers rather than people appointed by the Governor in Council (GIC). I stumbled upon a site that described a variety of ideas concerning food. Naturally I have an interest in food and different food varieties, and my mother has constantly instilled ideas of eating healthily into me. So, I wanted to combine the two ideas in the field of chemistry. As I continued my research, I discovered some labs mentioning vitamin C concentrations in food, and that there might be changed in concentration based on cooking method. When I saw this, I decided that this was precisely the kind of IA that I was looking for. Before beginning additional research, I had not given much thought to vitamin C at all when consuming foods. As I began more research, I learned quite a bit about the importance of vitamin C consumption. As it turns out, it prevents against illnesses such as scurvy, which was extremely prevalent amongst sailors due to the amount of time they spent away from land and most fruits, which would spoil on a ship. This only furthered my interest in the subject of vitamin C, or ascorbic acid, and as such, my IA became entirely about vitamin C, and the concentrations of it based on cooking method. In order to obtain good data, I quickly researched what fruits might have the greatest concentrations of vitamin C. The Romans believed that without a proper burial, a spirit would cause unhappiness for those living. While rites varied throughout different periods, traditions remained vastly, and always had the same importance. Funeral ceremonies were extremely elaborate, especially for upper class citizens. Funerals had five parts in Ancient Rome; the procession, the cremation and burial, the eulogy, the feast, and the commemoration. Ceremonies began closely after death, as soon as all necessary preparations were made. At the home, the deceased s body would be washed with warm water and then anointed. If the deceased person had held office, a wax impression of his features would be taken. Next, the body would be dressed in in a toga with all the regalia of the rank he was allowed to wear. Incense would be burned and pine woul dbe places outside the door to signify death in the house. In early and late times, when burial was more popular than cremation, a coing would be placed in between the teeth of the deceased, as payment for Charon, the ferryman of the underworld. These rites were simplified in poorer funerals, as well as done by a family member. However, for the rich, an undertaker, or designator, would do so(). This type of genetic vulnerability is called a genetic marker. It is easier to think of a genetic marker as a genetic light switch, while not all switches are turned on, some times a factor comes along and switches it to the on position; thus, the person develops the genetic disorder. The traits and subtypes of this disorder in individuals who have been abused can develop in to a perceived evil that will shock and strike terror in to society. This has been going on for decades and many are unaware of the results and the damages animal testing can cause. Animals undergo a lot of stress and pain when they are put through experimentations. The first few times may be a bit challenging and we have to be calculated and deliberate, but the more we travel the path, the clearer it is and easier it becomes to follow. This change in brain chemistry leads to a heightened well being in all realms mental, emotional, physical, spiritual, and social. Arrian further states that other accounts say that Alexander went to the temple so that he could gain Ammon s approval before founding Alexandria. This would seem plausible since, although there is question whether or not Alexander believed that he was of divine descent, it cannot be doubted that he took worship of the gods very seriously. And he would most certainly want a god of Ammon s statures approval on something as important as the founding of Alexandria. Later Arrian states that when Alexander arrived at the temple, the priest answered the question of his divinity by greeting him as son of Ammon . This is, by Arrian s wording, what his heart desired . This would once again indicate that both he and others around him did truly believe that he was of divine descent. Although Arrian is somewhat sceptical as to whether Alexander truly did crave this answer or if that is just what he said because it is what other people wanted to hear. Plutarch writes that some accounts say that when Alexander entered the temple the priest wished to greet him by saying O, paidion meaning ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. The Space Of Space Travel Introduction Space travel is a propelled trip outside our planet. This trip will be either by a spacecraft that contains human inside it or just a controllable spacecraft so engineers or whoever works in the earth station can control this spacecraft. We do space travel because we want to discover more about the universe like how it started and where did our planet come from and if we are by our own or there are other creatures living somewhere else in the universe. Background Space exploration became part of human accomplishments after the discoveries and theoretical that been discovered by Konstantin Tsiolkovsky and Robert H. In 1957 The soviet union came at the top of the list by launching the first artificial satellite. After a couple of years, on 1961, the Russian astronaut became the first human to orbit the earth he lasted 108 minutes in his trip and he reached 327km height. It was like a race between the soviet union and the United States both sides trying hard to discover new things and do more space exploration, however in 1969 the United States made a big achievement in this race through the Apollo 11 mission, the target of this mission was to land on the moon by a spacecraft that contains human inside it and the astronaut Neil Armstrong was the first human who walked on the moon. The journey took four days and the astronauts spent 21 hours on the moon surface and they were able to go back to earth safely, it was a big step in mankind s history. In 1973, the ... In this article, Spencer et. al. observed the effect of the presence of endogenous Ghrelin on anxiety behaviour in mice. This data was obtained by running wild type and Ghrelin knockout mice through a series of anxiety behaviour tests, as well as treating the knockout mice with exogenous Ghrelin following these tests and running these again. The research focuses on observing the mice in a hippocampus dependent spatial learning task, the Active Place Avoidance Task, to show that adult born immature neurons are necessary in order for a subject to successfully obtain spatial learning. This article is useful to the research topic as the same animal model is used for the observation of the importance of microglia on anxiety in rats. A limitation of the study is that the results obtained during the spatial recall portion of the study were not supported by previous studies on the role of immature neurons in the adult brain in spatial memory recall, and should be further investigated. Overall, the authors observed that immature, adult born neurons are important in spatial task learning however, their presence does not appear to have a significant effect on the recall ability of the subjects following their depletion. Two basic types of fireworks are the firecracker and sparkler. Firecrackers are simply made of rolled paper tubes with black powder, which is made of a strong oxider, and a fuse, which adds heat to the oxider, resulting in a boom . Sparklers are just a little bit different they are essentially a long fuse with black powder around it, so they stay lit longer and show color. The color comes from a reaction with specific metals like aluminium, copper, and zinc(How Are Fireworks Made?). The fireworks that most professional shows contain are known as the aerial fireworks. They are normally made of shells containing black powder, the mortar itself, stars, shell, bursting charge, and fuse. The stars in the fireworks are spread out in the shell and they create the sparkling like figure. The bursting charge is in the center and when the lit fuse hits it, the firework explodes (How Are Fireworks Made?). Some also use multi break shells to create different

With success hinging on the ability of the institution to analyze, predict and adjust in order to meet the market demands and successfully cope with rapidity of change (IKM, pg 7) establishing a sense of urgency as explained by Kotter would be critical (Leading Change, pg 35). I believe the two types of individuals Kotter speaks of as killers of successful change are not unlike many we have all worked with and around. While Kotter does a great job of bringing to light something we probably all knew but had never really defined, Buss is bold enough to borderline categorize these actions as misbehavior (IKM, pg 208). I have worked around many as Kotter described, snakes and big egos and as I think about the outright damage caused by these personality types Kotter could have gone farther in his assessment but he does advocate dealing with the problem at an early stage vs. being relegated to curse ourselves later for not dealing with the issue (Leading Change, pg 61). Based on my own personal observations while the snake is busy spreading rumors, talking behind backs and perpetuating mistrust after the damage is done, the big ego loves to constantly withhold valuable information cause crisis situations and fly in to save the day. However, the main narrators in these poems are very different and the circumstances in their poems show a lot about the difference that social class and gender make in the love lives seen in When we two parted and A Trampwoman s Tragedy . A couple of the important deaths were Emmett Till who got killed after he flirted with a white girl, and George Lee who tried to expose some of the Jim Crow Laws, and died during one of his protests.
