It allows families to support their child's treatment together. The author helped with cleaning, the kitchen, and pet therapy. They learned the Houses differ between locations but share the goal of supporting families during medical crises. Volunteering gave the author experience helping others and reinforced their interest in social work assisting children with cancer and their families.
