Types of Learning Style
1.Visual Learning Style
Absorb information by seeing it in front of and store in the brain.
Enjoy reading , good handwriting
Awareness of colours and shapes.
Remember people’s faces , concentrate on a conversation
How to help learners excel in classroom:-
Use pictures , charts ,diagrams , maps ,physical demonstration , flashcards and blocks , spelling ,
vocabulary ,grammar and punctuation colour codes ,encourage for notes
2.Auditory Learning Style
They learn best by hearing and speaking.
Talk more than average person , very social , enjoying hearing stories and jokes.
Some auditory learners read slowly and have trouble writing
They remember names and recognize tone of voice well
Techniques:-
Play word games , rhymes , read aloud ,follow text with her finger, explain concept verbally ,
memories information , group projects , personal voice recorder , use beats and songs to reinforce
educational information
3.Kinesthetic Learning Style
People learn by doing , moving around and handling physical objects.
They like to explore the outdoors , very coordinated.
Excel in athletics and performing arts
Prefer trying new skills.
Simply learn differently
Techniques:-
Give breaks frequently , learn by movement , focus on the whole picture ,
learn by 3D materials , learn using hands on activities , use models and real objects.
4.Read/Write Learning style
Read/Write learners specifically learn best through the written word.
They absorb information by reading books and handouts
The prefer lectures ,diagrams ,pictures , charts and concept
Fast reader , skillful writers.
Techniques:-
Encourage the child to write notes , rewrite and study , provide written material , write key
points , explain diagrams ,graphs , provide a dictionary , thesaurus and other resource
material , study multiple choice questions
