Juliet s Demise In The Tragedy Of Romeo And Juliet
There are two paths that both individually could have been the cause of Romeo and Juliet s demise in
The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. One, being the uncontrollable road of fate, and the other being
sheer human reaction. Though all of the gargantuan decisions made the facade of of destiny
controlling their lives, It was mostly the lovers impulsive decisions that would lead to their inevitable
end.The first of these decisions was after Romeo sorrowfully decided to crash the Capulet s party, he
decided that he was going to waltz up to Juliet and kiss her upon her lips. Though a fantastic idea in is
imaginative mind at the time, he did not realize that the furious Tybalt had recognized him before.
This tragic mistake leads to Tybalt having even worse blood with Romeo than he did before. This
would inevitably lead to Romeo s next impulsive decision that practically destroys his life. Romeo
meets Tybalt on the blood stained streets of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After a brawl, Tybalt fell dead to the ground, bringing Romeo s freedom with him. The death of Tybalt
is what leads to Romeo being banished. If Romeo could ve just controlled his emotions for once, he
would ve been just fine. Though I can see that you want to avenge your friend, you should nt have
gone to the party to make him so mad in the first place. After an elaberate plane is made with Friar
Lawrence, everything goes South and Romeo believes that Juliet is dead. If Juliet would ve not been
so impatient to see Romeo, this wouldn t have happened. Once Romeo arrive to the place of Juliet s
burrial, he stupidly takes his own life without even thinking twice. This could ve been prevented by a
few minutes wait to see Juliet awake frome her slumber. Some would say that his love for Juliet was
what caused his fate and that it couldn t be any other way. I however, believe that it was yet another
impulsive reaction that lead to yet another tragic

Millennium Development Goals
Why Millennium Development Goals Are Essential to Our Nation We live in a world that is
dangerously out of balance. There are 1.1 billion people living on less than one dollar a day, an
additional 1.7 billion people living on less than 2 dollars a day, more than 115 million children
uneducated, and over 40 million people are HIV positive. These numbers show that there is great
misery and unnecessary death in our world and that billions of people have little opportunity to lead a
decent life and fully use their potential to develop as human beings. For the first time in human history
there is an extremely powerful consensus in which the global community is attempting to work
together in the hopes of ensuring that all people, everywhere, ... Show more content on

Leadership in Support of MDGs: Promoting National Security The Millennium Development Goals
represent a commitment by all nations and institutions to eliminate global poverty. The MDGs need to
be emphasized and implemented at all stages and their success is highly dependent on financing the
project. The UN Millennium Project is centered on the belief that .7 percent of rich countries GNP can
provide enough resources to meet the goals. If every developed country followed through with a
timetable to reach the necessary target by 2015, the world could make dramatic progress in the fight
against extreme poverty. At the Monterrey Consensus a statement was made by the United States: we
urge developed countries that have not done so to make concrete efforts towards the target of .7
percent of GNP (Sachs 338). This statement shows that the US is beginning to take leadership in the
efforts to meet the MDGs; however, it seems that we are pointing fingers and not taking the proper
action ourselves. In 2004 our government only provided .14 percent of the GNP, which is well below
the target. The leadership of the United States has much importance because without public and
political support for the development goals, we are not only risking the lives of innocent people but
we are also diminishing our national security and personal

The Ebola Virus Affected The World
Ebola hemorrhagic fever, also known as Ebola is a deadly disease that can be caused by one of the
various types of Ebola viruses. Ebola affects primarily humans or nonhuman primates like
chimpanzees or gorillas, but recent research has discovered that other animals such as dogs, antelopes,
fruit bats, and pigs can be affected as well. It is believed that fruit bats are reservoir hosts to the virus
and are the main method that the virus is transmitted to other beings. The virus is usually introduced to
humans through blood, secretions, or organs or meat of animals that have been infected, but have not
been thoroughly cooked or cleansed.
The Ebola virus was first discovered in 1976, near the Ebola River, in what is now known as the
Democratic Republic of Congo. The different species of Ebola include: Bundibugyo, Reston, Taï
forest, Sudan, and Zaire ebolavirus. Each species of Ebola has affected the world differently, for
example, the Zaire strain is considered the most dangerous as it has the highest mortality rate and has

Othello By William Shakespeare s Othello
Shakespeare s Othello peels back the layers of society s underlying feelings regarding people who lie
outside of the perceived standard norm. It digs into the heart of society and reveals the damage that is
placed upon individuals who are considered outsiders, even if they manage to achieve success. In this
particular play, the audience is able to see how the subtleties of racial bias slowly destroy a person s
psyche. Throughout the play, the audience examines Othello cast in both negative and positive
positions. Othello is both a great general of the Venetian army as well as, just the moor who used
magic to trick his wife, Desdemona, into a marriage. Through harmful racial language Othello is
constantly reminded of his outsider status. The destruction of his character through blatant and subtle
criticisms cause Othello to doubt his self worth and ultimately leads to his self destruction.
Racial otherness and the inconspicuous barrier it creates in this play is the key to understanding the
tragedy of Othello. Iago and Roderigo open the play with slanderous statements about the character
and personality of Othello that allows the audience to view how society perceives Othello. The
language Roderigo and Iago use is openly offensive and can t be mistaken for anything other than hate
based on Othello s race. Roderigo refers to Othello as the thick lips as well as a lascivious Moor ,
during the opening of the play. Both Iago and Roderigo are disgusted with the high rank

Crime Victims Rights Act
Crime Victims Rights Act
According to the United States Department of Justice (2014), a crime victim has the following rights:
(1) the right to be reasonably protected from the accused, (2) the right to reasonable, accurate, and
timely notice of any public court proceeding, or ay parole proceeding, involving the crime or of any
release or escape of the accused, (3) the right not to be excluded from any such public court
proceeding, unless the court, after receiving clear and convincing evidence, determines that testimony
by the victim would be materially altered if the victim heard other testimony at that proceeding, (4)
the right to be reasonably heard at any public proceeding in the district court involving release, plea,
sentencing, or any parole proceeding, (5) the reasonable right to confer with the attorney for the
Government in the case, (6) the right to full and timely restitution as provided in law, (7) the right to
proceedings free from unreasonable delay and (8) the right to be treated with fairness and with respect
for the victim s dignity and privacy.
The Crime Victims Rights Act has had an incredible impact on the Justice Department and one at a
time, on victims of federal crime. Ever since the CVRA s passage, there has been a dramatic change in
the role that the victims play within federal criminal cases. Victims are now participating in cases in
larger numbers than they did before by, exercising their right to be heard, receiving notifications of

Someone Was Movin Into Mrs. Dirk s Old House
Someone was movin into Mrs. Dirk s old house, she had died many years back. She used to rock in
her rocking chair on the porch. I remember she was a kind, old widow. Me and Hattie used to play in
her old costumes: her hats, jewelry, and her dance shoes. She d tell us stories of when she was in the
Harlem Renaissance, she would show us pictures. She was beautiful. She was eighty nine when she
died. Now someone was movin into her old house. We watched the big, green truck drive up the dirt
road and up the hill where Mrs. Dirk s house sat. Me and Hattie watched behind the old wooden fence.

had long, blonde hair with a headband around it. She had long earrings and she wore sandals. She
looked the same age as the man. She took the box into the house and a girl followed with a box. The
girl was tall, definitely taller than me and skinny. She wore very short shorts, they were light blue. She

Women in armed conflict
Japan
Staten Island Academy
Alex Pillarella
The issue of women involved in armed conflict has been a reoccurring problem in countries that are
plagued by war for decades. Due to this problem women are taken in by soldiers and are sexually
violated, and sold as sex slaves. Also they are faced with economic, abduction s, and healthcare
problems. They have a lack nutrition, physiological problems such as depression, and sexual
transmitted diseases. After being sexually violated they have become outsider and are later rejected by
their families and society. In many countries that in present day are in war face many of these issues
and they are reoccurring events that happen every day in these peoples lives. The most well known
country is Afghanistan. Still today there is fighting going on in Afghanistan and every day women are
sexually violated and abused by soldiers in what are called comfort camps. ... Show more content on

When Hwang Geum Joo was 19 Emperor Hirohito ordered all unmarried girls to work in Japanese

As well as this, productive working relationships enable consistent messages to be communicated to
the shareholders to keep them informed about the business. Improved customer service can also be
seen with working relationships, which is important in the retail industry and no less so when working
in a company such as GAP and according to their training programme, Provide exceptional customer
service, to meet their customer s requirements.
Developmental Stages
From the early stages of a team forming, to the end when a team complete its goal(s) there are many
dis agreements that need to resolved and many responsibilities to be taken up and these are shown,
(albeit with differing opinions), by several theorists.
In 1965, B. Tuckman published his idea of how groups assemble by using his Forming, Storming,
Norming and Performing model . You could say that his theory is a helpful explanation of team
development, but they may differ from one individual to another. The model does explain how the
team develops its maturity, through establishing working relationships. It also connotes the leadership
style changing; from a directing style, to coaching, then participating and delegating before almost
being detached.
Stage one of his model is the Forming stage, where the leader must be prepared to answer many
questions about the team s purpose and objectives. Usual team processes are often ignored and there is
also a high dependence on

Boys and Girls by Alice Munro
Society tries to place many rules upon an individual as to what is acceptable and what is not . One
must decide for themselves whether to give in to these pressures and conform to society s projected
image, or rather to resist and maintain their own desired self image. In the story Boys and Girls by
Alice Munro, Munro suggests that this conflict is internal and external and a persons experiences in
life will determine which of these forces will conquer. In terms of the unnamed protagonist s
experiences in the story, it becomes clear just how strong the pressure of society to conform really is,
as it overcomes and replaces the girl s self image.
In order to better understand the conflict, first we must define what conformity and self ... Show more

Although seemingly unimportant to the storyline, the presence of the foxes and horses play a major
role in the story, as they symbolize the sides of the conflict between conformity and self image. The
foxes represent conformity; they all live in the same routine, are controlled by others in their
environment, and are both literally and metaphorically locked in a cage. The narrator s environment is
much like the foxes, controlling. Her parent s subtle hints, whether it be her mother s comments or her
father s tasks, are slowly but surely enclosing on her like a cage, and will soon trap her.
The horses however, try as hard as they can, much like the narrator, to roam free for as long as
possible, seemingly unaware of the forces acting against them in an attempt to deny them their
freedom. For the horses, this force was the narrator s father, who felt that they had a purpose to be
served, in the narrator s case, it was her mother s thought that she had a place to be served as well;
inside the home. In the case of the foxes and horses, neither win, as they both die in the end, much like
people. However, although the horse s lives end much sooner, they get to experience something that
the foxes do not, and that is freedom. The protagonist s desire for freedom is clearly desirable as she
expresses her resistance to conform to societies ideals by continuing to do things against the norm,
thinking that by such measures [she] kept

Allusions Of The Serpent
The bible can be seen as a great piece of literature, one which many people will recognize if there are
references to it in modern day books, movies, and even music. One of the major topics for allusions is
the Serpent. Most commonly known for his role in the story of Adam and Eve the serpent is sly,
cunning, and deceivingly tricky. Authors allude to the Serpent if they want to characterize a character
as evil or devious. They may also use this allusion to advance a theme as to not trust everyone you
meet or temptation may be your downfall. They can use it to create other moods such as suspenseful
ones, or even sad ones if the reader knows that the fall of the character is coming. All of these things
are used in the examples in the next ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Now the serpent was more crafty than any other beast of the field that the Lord God had made
(English Standard Version Bible, Gn. 3:1). In this quote, the reader can infer that the Serpent is sly,
devious, and cunning and should not be trusted. To see that the Serpent is tempting Eve the bible says,
He said to the woman, Did God actually say You shall not eat of any tree in the garden ? . . . But the
serpent said to the woman, You will not surely die. For God knows that when you eat of it your eyes
will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil. (Gn. 3:2 6) This quote shows the
actual tempting that the Serpent did to get Adam and Eve to eat the fruit.
In The Chronicles of Narnia #6: The Magician s Nephew by C.S. Lewis, Aslan, the lion, asks Digory
if he is ready to protect Narnia from the Witch. In order to do this Digory has to go collect seeds to
plant a certain tree. When he is collecting the fruit needed the Witch speaks to him.
You have plucked fruit in the garden yonder. You have it in your pocket now. And you are going to
carry it back, untasted, to the Lion; for him to eat, for him to use. You simpleton! Do you know what
that fruit is? I will tell you. It is the apple of youth, the apple of life. I know, for I have tasted it; and I
feel already such changes in myself that I know I shall never grow old or die. Eat it, Boy, eat it; and

Cattle Industry
The dairy and cattle industry is a major part of society it basically is apart of every community. The
dairy and cattle industries have been around since the beginning of time and are vital to society and
has grown immensely. Farmers and ranchers now use inventions and special breeds of cows to
produce the best and highest quality beef and milk. In this paper there are many facts that show how
the dairy industry grow. Many things have caused the dairy industry to boom but there are three main
points are needed to understand the boom. In order to understand how the boom of the cattle and dairy
industry one needs to understand the inventions, the demand for dairy products and the diversity in the
industry. Many inventions have been involved in helping the dairy and cattle industry grow. These
allow cows to be safer and live in more comfortable and help them produce more milk. New breeding
techniques have lead to cows giving more milk (Kurlansky n.p.). These new technique have lead to
cows giving much more milk. They also make the cows less ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

These different areas and fields are mostly based on the breeds of cattle. Distinct breeds did not
emerge until the second half of the 18th century when the industrial revolution in Europe required
more productive animals (Ritchie 1). This is because they had now made vehicles to use to move
equipment instead of cows. Also, this caused many people to bring up cows for only their milk or beef
instead of for pulling and lugging things around. Old triple purpose (meat/milk/draft) native cattle
types that had been raised for centuries began to decline, and in their place, more productive double
and single purpose cattle were bred. This has lead to cows that have a single purpose and the breeds
are better at producing specified product, for example Holsteins are specially bred to produce the
maximum amount of milk. All of the new breeds have lead to the cattle and beef industry growing

Essay On Arginine Vasopressin
Like oxytocin, arginine vasopressin (AVP) plays a critical role in bond formation. Moreover, the
administration of AVP has been linked to an increase empathic concern after viewing distressing and
uplifting material (Tabak et al., 2014). Interestingly, Tabak and colleagues (2014) did not find
oxytocin to have a similar effect. However, given previous research, it is likely due to the
methodology and does not mean that oxytocin is not related to prosocial behavior but perhaps a
particular behavior measured by the study. After all, there is a lot to be learned about what influences
the effect of neurobiochemicals like vasopressin and oxytocin on prosocial behavior. It is possible that
vasopressin plays a role to promote prosocial behavior ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Testable Hypothesis Neuroeconomic studies have found that economic decision making activates
involuntary brain structures. When presented with pictures of gazing eyes as opposed to nonwatching
eyes or flowers, participants were more likely to engage in prosocial behavior (Manesi et al., 2016).
This effect was modest, however. Perhaps, it was modest due to the task being completely
computerized, and hence, the effect could be larger if the task was performed differently. This
involuntary neural activation is postulated to be caused by seeing human eyes and faces (Burnham,
2007). By showing people images of gazing eyes, we can hypothetically manipulate the proximate
causes of prosocial behavior, or as Burnham would say, engineer human cooperation. While Manesi
and colleagues found that images of gazing human eyes elicited prosocial behavior, the researchers
did not utilize an fMRI to see which brain areas were involved. This study aims to examine which
brain areas are involved in prosocial behavior that is activated by seeing pictures of human eyes and
faces. Given that empathy is a known predecessor for engagement in prosocial behavior, it is possible
that viewing human faces and eyes will activate the same brain areas as

The Spartan II Project By Dr. Catherine Halsey
It all started with ORION Project without it The Spartan II project never would have been born, it was
the idea that a small special forces teams would be better than a large army they were to costly the
damage was becoming too great. This new idea was cheeps saved the lives of solders and was better at
getting the job done. But combating with the insurgents was becoming too much for the UNSC to
manage. As the enemy grow in numbers and strength they became more effective and more forceful,
the need for large scale military campaigns became increasingly encouraged. Soon after this
realization in the later months of 2517 The Spartan II project was conceived by Dr. Catherine Halsey
who happened to be successor to the ORION Project and was the best possible solution to end the
widespread raged that flooded throughout UNSC space. The project was created these goals in mind.
First was to create a group of elite soldiers meant to subdue any obstacle in their way, with little to no
military casualties, second goal was to minimize civilian casualties and to prevent a civil war from
ever happening and thirdly goal was minimizing the general cost of war. Halsey s proposal for the
project was farfetched at best it detailed radical changes and would test the boundaries of people s
ethical beliefs and moral code. The first and most controversial was the subjects themselves, they were
picked from a gene candidate pool of boys all at the age of six years old. This narrowed the

An Influential And Rewarding Field
The nursing profession has evolved tremendously over the years. Although we often work as a part of
a health care team, as nurses, our role is so critical to the clients we serve that it cannot be replaced by
any other team member. We are constantly striving to expand our capabilities, either through formal
education or years of experience. We are fortunate enough to be part of an influential and rewarding
field that enables us to impact the lives of a diverse community on a physical, mental, and emotion
level. Nursing provides me with the ability to make a profound difference in the life of another human
being, their family, and friends. Nurses must not only use the knowledge base we obtained through
formal education, as we also must use our emotions and morals when caring for clients. Over the years
of working in mental health, I have learned to excel under pressure due to the understanding that one
minute may not be the same as the next. This has given me the tools needed to evaluate situations
under stress and make final decisions based on acuity. Effective communication is another strong
quality of mine. Not only is it important that I advocate for and communicate with clients through
both verbal and non verbal communication, but it is also an essential part of working well within the
multidisciplinary team. Being detail oriented and organized are also key components in my career. In

Lego Group
Project definition:
LEGO is one of the largest companies in Denmark and a company with a very strong brand. But even
so, their economy fell apart in 2003 2004 and we are interested in what they did wrong and what they
did to turn their significant loss around to a profit in 2005. So our problem is:
What caused LEGO s financial problems in and what did they do to turn it around? This is very
relevant, because it shows how even one of the biggest brands in a market can t afford to relax in any
aspect of the value chain. Even though LEGO is a big brand, their profitability is not to be taken for
granted.
To answer the problem we used a history of LEGO, made a Value Chain, a SW model and

Knudstorp then realized that the problem did not lie with the product, but with the company s attempts
in the 1990 s to become a lifestyle brand with its own line of clothes and watches and they built more
theme parks as well. By doing this, they started neglecting their core business: the LEGO brick.
Value Chain of LEGO:
In March 2004, Knudstorp launched his dramatic turnaround plan: a mix of cost cutting, philosophical
renewal and back to basics simplicity. This Action Plan was emphasizing three main themes: Set clear
direction for the LEGO Group and fundamentally change the way they do business. Restore
competitiveness by focusing on costumers, in particular their profitability. Reducing the level of risk
by right sizing their activities, cost base and assets to a lower revenue base.
Inbound logistics
Lego has reduced significantly its number of plastic resin suppliers, and has signed longer term
contracts which reduced and stabilized pricing, lowering costs and enabling better planning.
Operations
LEGO has rationalized production lines, reducing the number of products that could be made on each
machine, adding simplicity and reducing changeover costs. It established more fixed production
cycles, and better tied manufacturing to the rest of the supply chain. For example, it was no longer
acceptable to make manual changes in a molding machine without

this very title. Franklin is a large part of American history. A renowned polymath, he held many
occupations including; an author, printer, politician, scientist, inventor, civic activist and more! All
throughout history there have been a plethora of inspirational, hardworking, intelligent, life changing
personages, one of them being Benjamin Franklin. He changed not only the world, but America and its
history with his discoveries, knowledge, and beneficial insights. One of the most well known scientific

Franklin proved that lighting was electricity and his discovery led to our world, starting with America,
being more scientifically informed. One of the most courageous acts of mankind in this world is fire
fighting. Not many people may know this, but Benjamin Franklin was the founding father of
firefighting. In 1736, Franklin proposed volunteer fire companies that would gather men quickly to
extinguish a blaze. (Gausted 35) After a huge Philadelphia fire, Franklin founded Philadelphia s first
fire company the Union Fire Company, the very first fire department. Franklin stated I sought to
explain what caused them and how one could prevent such fires in the future (McCormick 151)
Franklin was very interested in learning more about the situation and was concerned about the health
and safety of everyone affected. Without his idea it would have been long before actual fire companies
were started. Before there were fireplaces, there were fire places, where people would simply huddle
together around a fire in their homes for warmth. Then came Benjamin Franklin and invented the
metal lined fireplace. Franklin had a spurred interest in improving heating systems. At first people
didn t have chimneys, they simply made a fire and sat around it. It did people little good to huddle by
a fire, he argued, if currents of cold air then buffeted them. Many colds are caught that way. Franklin
lectured it would be safer to sit in the open street.

Liberal Or Conservative Analysis
Any statement that begins with There are two types of people... ought to be met with criticism. People
aren t that simple. But the current system of American politics undermines this, tugging at a few major
core values that tend to separate people into precisely two groups: liberals and conservatives. Even the
most historically beloved and supported president, Theodore Roosevelt, was denied another term upon
campaigning for a third ( middle ) party. Political stratification always induces disagreement, but the
late trend escalades dissent to detriment. Most people would admit to knowing at least a couple of
benevolent and/or intelligent people from both ends of the political spectrum. This begs the question
of which side, liberal or conservative, is better. Is it more practical to be a conservative more ethical to
be a liberal? Jonathan Haidt, a renown social ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He concluded that humans are born with an innate moral system, but that social environments, child
rearing, and life experiences rearrange the priorities of this innate system. Morality consists of five
channels: harm/care, fairness/reciprocity, in group/loyalty, authority/respect, and purity/sanctity. The
first two concern themselves with individual treatment, the last three concern themselves with
community and order. A survey in 2008 compared individual s prioritization of these five channels
with their position on the liberal/conservative spectrum. The survey revealed that liberal people value
care and fairness significantly higher than they value loyalty, authority, and purity. Oddly enough, I
cannot begin this sentence with in contrast, or conversely, because the conservative individuals valued
care and fairness relatively high as well. The difference between the two is that conservative values
are less stratified. Predictably, fairness is the lowest value for

Television And Race Essay
Race Televised: America s BabysitterAt some point in the course of human events, America decided
that the television was their Dali Lama, their cultural and spiritual leader. Overlooking its obvious
entertainment based purpose, Americans have let the television baby sit and rear their children. I do
not recall a manifesto from the television industry, but society put television in a role it does not have
authority in. The only thing television set out to do was provide the passive entertainment American
society wants. True, television does not accurately reflect race in America, but it is not the job of the
television industry to do so. Too much importance has been put on television to provide guidance and

Analysis Of A Dead Man s Pockets, And Ambush
1234Literary Analysis Collection 1 Are you ready to analyze three stories? Yes? Awesome! No? Too
bad, because here we go! The three stories in question are The Leap, The Contents of a Dead Man s
Pockets, and Ambush. The authors of these stories use aspects of their stories to shape the plot, show
the theme, and to change the views of the characters in the stories. The first literary element used in
the stories to form the plot, was the setting. In the story Ambush, the narrator is crouching in bushes
alongside a dirt path that is shrouded in fog and mist. The narrator remarks when telling this story that,
The mosquitoes were fierce. I remember slapping at them, wondering if I should wake up Kiowa and

The boat that the characters are in, is small and causes a lot of tension between the characters. Like the
other passengers, Murad looks on, stunned. They expected to be taken all the way to the shore, where
they could easily disperse and then hide. The idea of having to swim the rest of the way is intolerable,
especially for those who are not natives of Tangier and accustomed to its waters... Someone makes an
abrupt movement to reason with Rahal, to force him to go all the way to shore, but the Zodiac loses
balance and then it s too late. This tension causes the boat to eventually flip, which changes the
outcome of the story and plot. In these three stories, the authors use the setting of the story to shape
and alter the plot in multiple ways. The writers also used the conflicts of the stories to further the plot
and to change the character s opinions and views. The conflict of Ambush, the narrator throwing a
grenade at an unknown man, resulted in the narrator changing the way he acted in the future. Even
now I haven t finished sorting it out. Sometimes I forgive myself, other times I don t. In the ordinary
hours of life I try not to dwell on it, but now and then, when I m reading a newspaper or just sitting
alone in a room, I ll look up and see the young man coming out of the morning fog. The conflict of the
story continues to impact the narrator s life, even many years after it happened. In Contents of a Dead

Pros And Basics Of BUI
All U.S. states have laws against using alcohol and drugs while operating a boat or any other
watercraft. In addition, the U.S. Coast Guard oversees federal laws against drinking on a boat and
arrests people for boating under the influence, or BUI. Conviction of a BUI crime is a serious offense,
and it can result in jail time, large monetary fines, suspension of boating and driver s licenses, and
increases in auto and boat insurance premiums.
Increases in BUI Arrests Laws against BUI have been enacted across the country, because operating a
boat while intoxicated leads to accidents, deaths, and property damage. The Coast Guard tracks
statistics regarding boating accidents and reported 4,158 accidents and 626 deaths ... Show more

States without formal marine law enforcement orders may also set up BUI checkpoints for questioning
and inspecting boat operators and passengers for intoxication while boating. BUI checkpoints operate
in much the same way as roadside DUI checkpoints, and this type of enforcement is leading to an
increasing number of BUI arrests and convictions. [5].
Basics of BUI Charges The crime of boating under the influence is defined in most states as operating
any form of watercraft on a body of water with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or above. A few
states define a BUI charge as having a blood alcohol content of .1 percent or above.
In some states it is an additional crime if there is a minor onboard the boat, especially if the minor has
a blood alcohol level above .01 percent.
Elements of BUI Charges A person can be convicted of a BUI offense when they are operating any
watercraft and are intoxicated to any significant degree by alcohol, drugs, or both.
In most cases, this involves a blood alcohol level of .08 percent or higher for recreational vessels and
.04 percent of higher for commercial vessels.
The crime of BUI applies to all forms of watercraft, including sailboats, speedboats, yachts, fishing
boats, jet skis, and commercial vessels.

Native American Film Essay
Native Americans express their voice in films by incorporating their history, culture and traditions for
Indigenous purpose. These independent cinema efforts are produced by filmmakers who want to tell a
story about their tribes around the world and educate the younger generations. Zacharias Kunuk,
filmmaker of Antantarjuat; The Fast Runner and Journals of Knud Rasmussen, compels non Inuit
spectators to think differently, not only about what constitutes indigenous content in films and more
conventional representations of Native Americans in cinematic history, but also about indigenous
visual Aesthetics (Raheji 1168).
Kunuk s first film, Fast Runner, starts with the camp leader, Kumaglak, in a spiritual battle with an
evil shaman that entered the community of Inuit. The senior loses the battle and perishes
unexpectedly. Next in line to be the leader of the camp is Tulimaq, but the evil shaman removed the
necklace and handed it to his rival Sauri. Once he was chosen, he denied Tulimaq and his family of
everything, only receiving portions to barely keep the family of four alive.

for example George Washington that was character assassinated by Benjamin Franklin Bache. The
press was so harsh and vile at him and used words that were so mean and cruel. These Founding

Briar Rose Symbolism Essay
The story of Briar Rose is about an evil fairy who wasn t invited to a party. As punishment, she puts a
spell on a child. Her spell was that on her fifteenth year she will fall into deep sleep from a prick on a
spinning wheel. The Brothers Grimm has positioned the audience to see the thirteenth fairy as evil
while Briar Rose and the Prince are seen as good. The theme of good will triumph over evil, is
reinforced through the symbols when good characters defeat evil ones. The Brothers Grimm has
positioned the audience to see the theme of good triumphing over evil through the character
archetypes and symbolic meaning.
The Brothers Grimm has positioned the audience to see the thirteenth fairy as evil while Briar Rose
and the Prince are seen as good. Firstly, the audience has been positioned to see the thirteenth fairy as
an evil villain in the way she dresses herself. The story tells us that she appears in the dining hall

The audience was positioned to see the theme good will always triumph over evil by the symbols. A
symbol in the text Briar Rose was seen as the hedge of thorns. A large hedge of thorns soon grew
round the palace this tells us that evil is now appearing. Later in the text there appears a
transformation. Now that very day the hundred years were ended; and as the prince came to the thicket
he saw nothing but beautiful flowering shrubs . This transform is a sign to the reader that good is
triumphing over evil. As you can see, a thicket of thorns usually indicates evil while flowers usually
show the meaning of good. The theme of good will triumph over evil through the work of symbols
and the way that something evil like thorns turns into something beautiful like

Life Has Learned In My Life
At the age of six I had not given much thought about life and death, but this day changed that. As a
baby, I cannot imagine all the things I did that put myself in danger. I was completely unaware of the
consequences of my actions. As a child, I was playful, innocent, and cheerful. Throughout my years of
growing up I have learned many lessons through life. Only a few events happened before this one that
I can remember. On my 6th birthday, life could have been lost, and from that I learned to always be
careful and that life can change in an instant. First, I woke up Saturday afternoon. Since it was
Saturday, I slept longer than usual. Today was the day chosen to celebrate my birthday, which was
actually a few days before. It was my 6th birthday party. My parents and I decided that the party
would take place at our home. We invited all our neighbors and friends. I was young, energetic, and
ready to enjoy life. Next, I got out of my Rugrats sheet covered bed. I headed down the narrow and
white hallway to the living room. I greeted my parents and had a small breakfast. I ate scrambled eggs
and toast for breakfast. After eating I asked my parents if I could ride my bike with friends before
coming back home. My parents agreed that was ok. I went into the garage to get my blue, new,
Mongoose bicycle. My bicycle was a gift from my parents, which I received on my birthday. After
returning home from bike riding, I got an hour of rest before the party was ready to begin. I exited

Kenneth Dodge s Theory Of Juvenile Delinquency
Deviance among adolescents in our society has many different causes and multiple theories
throughout the history of criminal justice have been developed to attempt to explain, prevent and
reduce incidents of status offenses and juvenile delinquency. There are theories varying from
individual, to social and environmental. All of these theories have their merits and contribute in one
way or another to the advancement of the understanding of juvenile delinquency and the treatment and
prevention of delinquency within our society. Those that have proven to be successful we have applied
in our justice system while those that are proven over time to be ineffective or defective we have
discarded. There is no single theory that applies to all delinquent behavior in all situations. It is best to
determine what theory may work best in each specific case based on the individual and the specific
situation. Dodge s information processing theory of social problem solving (Crick and Dodge 1994)
was developed by Kenneth Dodge in an attempt to explain the interaction between the child s
cognitive development and their social environment. This theory combines elements of both the
individual and the social environment and examines how these two variables interact with each other
to present a model for juvenile delinquency. During my investigation of this topic I discovered that an
adapted model of Dodge s theory existed that seemed to be more encompassing of the causes of
juvenile delinquency,

Factor In Job Offers For Ex-Convicts By Paul Von Zielbauer
In Race a Factor in Job Offers for Ex Convicts Paul Von Zielbauer, a writer for The New York Times,
illustrates an example of conflict theory. Conflict theory states that society is in always in conflict
because people are always in competition for limited resources such as money or job opportunities.
Although Karl Marx originated conflict theory, sociologists Max Weber and Georg Simmel
subsequently expanded upon it. Weber added that different groups were affected in society differently
based on traits like race and gender and that reactions to these inequalities were moderated by
differences in social class. Georg Simmel, alternatively, thought conflict varied depending on the
emotional involvement of the parties.

Wolf Spider Predation
ABSTRACT
In Cautious versus desperado males: predation risk affects courtship intensity but not female choice in
a wolf spider the courtship displays of the wolf spider, Pardosa milvina were investigated. The wolf
spider s courtship display in males includes raising their legs and shaking their bodies. The rate of a
males leg raises is a signal of the assets the male has, females that mate with males with quicker leg
raises had more progeny and these left the egg sac faster and lived longer. Rypstra et al. wanted to
determine if male wolf spiders that differ in assets and quality would behave differently under the risk
of predation and wondered if the differences in reactions would affect how females choose their
mates. This study consisted of two experiments, in the first experiment they determined that the
symmetry of the front legs of males was related to their rate of leg raises, this was used as a measure
of male quality. They used this measure in the second experiment when they explored how Tigrosa
helluo predator cues changed the males courtship behaviour. It was determined that predation cues did
not have an effect on whether mating happened between males and females and a ... Show more

I believe that higher quality males should perform their courtship display at a lower intensity when
predator cues are present, while lower quality males should increase their displays. This is because
higher quality males long term reproductive options are more evident and lower quality males may
become desperados and showoff whatever assets they have in a desperate attempt to convince a
female to mate with them. If females can judge whether a male is of high or low quality then even
when there is risk of predation, they will mate with the males that are of higher quality (Rypstra et al.

Causes And Effects Of The Crusades
In the year 1095 the decision was made by Pope Urban ii to invade the Holy Land and take the lives of
many innocent souls in the name of God. This decision caused one of the most horrible genocides of
all time but this decision by the pope came as a result of many other factors. Additionally the effects
of the Crusades would both be lasting and surprising. The Crusades had economic and demographic
causes and the effects were also economical and political. It is important to remember that the causes
effects and events of the crusades are subject to very different points of view depending on which side
of the story you hear. The effects for the Europeans were much different than the effects for the
Muslims. Specifically, the crusades had a much smaller effect on the Muslim community than it did on
Europe. The most important thing that led to the Crusades was the demographic of the number of
knights in Europe. The most prominent effect from Crusades was the effect that it had on politics in
Europe.

Logistics Design Alternatives to United Parcel Service
The United Parcel Service is one of the largest companies in the global courier delivery service
industry, with a net income of about $3 billion and revenues exceeding $53 billion. Headquartered in
the United States, a large part of UPS s market share and revenues come from the business it conducts
in Europe. The logistics design of UPS has three distinct functions, consolidation, distribution, and
fragmentation. Consolidation is the collection of parcels to then be sent to distribution. Distribution
works on a hub to hub basis with distance determining what mode of transportation will be used (Air
or Ground). Fragmentation is the final design step in the UPS logistics design, combined with
consolidation for the most part; this function is where products are delivered to their final destination.
These basic functions have kept UPS a world leader in the logistics field and well ahead of their
competitors. Benjamin Franklin once said Without continual growth and progress, such words as
improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning (Brainy quote, 2014). UPS is continually
striving to improve their logistical operations. With over 90,000 ground vehicles in the UPS fleet, it is
hard to imagine how much money they are spending on gasoline. The fragmentation and consolidation
function of UPS make up the majority of the vehicle usage within UPS, they have set fuel efficiency
goals for their fleet aiming for a 20% increase in MPG between the years 2000 and 2020.

The Dark Story of Babi Yar
Babi Yar
Babi Yar is a small place with a big story, but it has more to it than what meets the eye. In fall 1941
Germany took control of the city of Kiev, where Babi Yar is located. Hitler had ordered his Nazis to

Jews lived in fear. The massacre of the Jews that lived in Kiev began on September 29, 1941. On the
outside it is a small ravine outside the city of Kiev, but if you dig deeper you will discover that this
forgotten place is the site of the biggest and saddest event in the history of World War II. (World Book
Encyclopedia 3). According to Shelia Stewart, Hitler s original plan was to capture all the Jews and
send them to Madagascar. The plan was soon dropped because Germany couldn t defeat the British
Navy. Hitler then created a new plan. The Nazis would force some of the Jews who were able to do
manual labor, such as young men, to work. The Jews that couldn t work, for example older people,
would be killed. After the Jews that were able to do work can t work anymore, they would also be
killed. (28 29). When Hitler s troops invaded Kiev they posted notices in the city that stated, Kikes of

American Social Classes by Vance Packer
Throughout the Fifties, mass society started to rule in the United States. The 1950 s is one known as
the Eisenhower era. As the Supreme Allied Commander in Western Europe throughout World War II,
General Dwight D. Eisenhower headed the compels that battled a frantic battle against the Axis
powers. The Fifties picked up a notoriety for being a serene time. Residents moved to the suburbs and
TV began to take charge. The novel American Social Classes in the 1950 s by Vance Packer
investigates of class conduct of America in the 1950 s so students can explore.
One of the questions in this novel asked, How Packard did tells us about the 1950 s? I felt that it told
decade taking after World War II. It was described by luxuriousness in much of American culture,
offering ascent to elevated amounts of utilization and a blast in populace. Underneath this boundless
success, in any case, lay developing destitution for a few Americans, and the hole between the rich
and poor broadened.
I enjoyed this book because it was an excellent study. One of the strengths of American Social Classes
in 1950 s is that it s a time capsule within itself.
While reading this novel I realized that our society today is similar to the society in the 1950 s because
of the booming market. In the early 1940 s a period of plenitude started which by 1959 had arrived at

The main problem I have encountered is planning for the future. In the business world, it is impossible
to tell what problems will come up. On any given day your priorities can change from that you have
planned. It is important to recognize the highest priorities and to tackle those items first so that you
can get to the items of lower priority before they become critical.
I get to work each morning at 6:30. The first thing I do is check my PPC, email, and outstanding RFIs

income is indeed substantially higher in milk market participating households (101 versus 49 birr
daily). This higher income of participating households is almost completely earned by selling raw
milk to the market. The other way of receiving milk income processing raw milk into butter and
cottage cheese for sale at the local market is much less important in market participant households
than in non participant households.
This difference has important consequences for the distribution of income within the household. Milk
income from the formal market is received and controlled by men (who sign the contract with the milk
company), whereas income from the local market is received and controlled by women. The
consequences for the intra household distribution of income are clearly reflected in our data. In milk
market participant households, men`s milk income is on average 93 birr per day, whereas in non
participant households men do not earn income from milk on a daily bases. Women tend to earn and
control the entire dairy income in non participant households (34 birr per day), but earn only 4 birr
milk income per day in market participant households.
The central goal of the current study was to find out what the consequences of this change are for the
bargaining position of

The Risks from Nuclear Power Outweighs the Gains
In today s technological era, people have an incredibly high demand for electricity. Therefore, we have
many different kinds of power plants all over the world, such as fossil fuel power station, solar power
station, and wind power station, etc. However, the potentially catastrophic global warming effects
caused by fossil fuels, the staggering costs of solar power, and the unstable resource of wind power
drive people to seek a more low cost yet carbon free way to generate electricity. In the early 20th
century, scientists discovered nuclear energy. Although, nuclear power is not completely pollution
free, it is considered a zero emission energy source. In fact, nuclear power is the only clean air power
source that is able to continuously ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The 1986 Chernobyl incident is a prime example of why we should avoid nuclear energy. The
meltdown led to an explosion the Chernobyl unit four reactor and caused a fire which burned for ten
days, releasing radioactive material over an area of 200,000 km2. The immediate results were 30
deaths from radiation within three months. Long term affects from the radiation resulted in birth
defects and shortened lifespans for many of the rescue workers who survived. According to the World
Health Organization, there are 4000 deaths related to the Chernobyl incident as of September 5th
2005. Today, the earth within the 30 kilometer exclusion zone contains high amount of radiation. The
plants and water around Chernobyl nuclear plant also have high radioactive contamination. Base on
the report Chernobyl Accident and Its Consequences from the Nuclear Energy Institute, this accident
is caused by a defective reactor design and human error. Workers at Chernobyl were also exposed to
higher levels of radiation than workers at other nuclear power plants. A nuclear meltdown in progress
is extremely difficult to contain and past a certain threshold a meltdown is unstoppable as in the case
of Chernobyl. Workers must be extremely well trained and careful to prevent these disasters from
happening. However, human error is inevitable. If we keep building nuclear power plants and relying
on nuclear energy, incidents like Chernobyl will

Though all of the gargantuan decisions made the facade of of destiny controlling their lives, It was mostly the lovers impulsive decisions that would lead to their inevitable end.The first of these decisions was after Romeo sorrowfully decided to crash the Capulet s party, he decided that he was going to waltz up to Juliet and kiss her upon her lips. There are 1.1 billion people living on less than one dollar a day, an additional 1.7 billion people living on less than 2 dollars a day, more than 115 million children uneducated, and over 40 million people are HIV positive. These numbers show that there is great misery and unnecessary death in our world and that billions of people have little opportunity to lead a decent life and fully use their potential to develop as human beings. Leadership in Support of MDGs: Promoting National Security The Millennium Development Goals represent a commitment by all nations and institutions to eliminate global poverty. The MDGs need to be emphasized and implemented at all stages and their success is highly dependent on financing the project. The UN Millennium Project is centered on the belief that .7 percent of rich countries GNP can provide enough resources to meet the goals. If every developed country followed through with a timetable to reach the necessary target by 2015, the world could make dramatic progress in the fight against extreme poverty. At the Monterrey Consensus a statement was made by the United States: we urge developed countries that have not done so to make concrete efforts towards the target of .7 percent of GNP (Sachs 338). This statement shows that the US is beginning to take leadership in the efforts to meet the MDGs; however, it seems that we are pointing fingers and not taking the proper action ourselves. In 2004 our government only provided .14 percent of the GNP, which is well below the target. The leadership of the United States has much importance because without public and political support for the development goals, we are not only risking the lives of innocent people but we are also diminishing our national security and personal ... Ebola affects primarily humans or nonhuman primates like chimpanzees or gorillas, but recent research has discovered that other animals such as dogs, antelopes, fruit bats, and pigs can be affected as well. It is believed that fruit bats are reservoir hosts to the virus and are the main method that the virus is transmitted to other beings. The virus is usually introduced to humans through blood, secretions, or organs or meat of animals that have been infected, but have not been thoroughly cooked or cleansed. • 5. Othello By William Shakespeare s Othello Shakespeare s Othello peels back the layers of society s underlying feelings regarding people who lie outside of the perceived standard norm. It digs into the heart of society and reveals the damage that is placed upon individuals who are considered outsiders, even if they manage to achieve success. In this particular play, the audience is able to see how the subtleties of racial bias slowly destroy a person s psyche. Throughout the play, the audience examines Othello cast in both negative and positive positions. Othello is both a great general of the Venetian army as well as, just the moor who used magic to trick his wife, Desdemona, into a marriage. Through harmful racial language Othello is constantly reminded of his outsider status. The destruction of his character through blatant and subtle criticisms cause Othello to doubt his self worth and ultimately leads to his self destruction. Racial otherness and the inconspicuous barrier it creates in this play is the key to understanding the tragedy of Othello. Iago and Roderigo open the play with slanderous statements about the character and personality of Othello that allows the audience to view how society perceives Othello. The language Roderigo and Iago use is openly offensive and can t be mistaken for anything other than hate based on Othello s race. Roderigo refers to Othello as the thick lips as well as a lascivious Moor , during the opening of the play. Both Iago and Roderigo are disgusted with the high rank ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In 1965, B. Tuckman published his idea of how groups assemble by using his Forming, Storming, Norming and Performing model . You could say that his theory is a helpful explanation of team development, but they may differ from one individual to another. The model does explain how the team develops its maturity, through establishing working relationships. It also connotes the leadership style changing; from a directing style, to coaching, then participating and delegating before almost being detached. Stage one of his model is the Forming stage, where the leader must be prepared to answer many questions about the team s purpose and objectives. The narrator s environment is much like the foxes, controlling. Her parent s subtle hints, whether it be her mother s comments or her father s tasks, are slowly but surely enclosing on her like a cage, and will soon trap her. The horses however, try as hard as they can, much like the narrator, to roam free for as long as possible, seemingly unaware of the forces acting against them in an attempt to deny them their freedom. For the horses, this force was the narrator s father, who felt that they had a purpose to be served, in the narrator s case, it was her mother s thought that she had a place to be served as well; inside the home. In the case of the foxes and horses, neither win, as they both die in the end, much like people. However, although the horse s lives end much sooner, they get to experience something that the foxes do not, and that is freedom. Interestingly, Tabak and colleagues (2014) did not find oxytocin to have a similar effect. Testable Hypothesis Neuroeconomic studies have found that economic decision making activates involuntary brain structures. When presented with pictures of gazing eyes as opposed to nonwatching eyes or flowers, participants were more likely to engage in prosocial behavior (Manesi et al., 2016). This effect was modest, however. Perhaps, it was modest due to the task being completely computerized, and hence, the effect could be larger if the task was performed differently. This involuntary neural activation is postulated to be caused by seeing human eyes and faces (Burnham, 2007). By showing people images of gazing eyes, we can hypothetically manipulate the proximate causes of prosocial behavior, or as Burnham would say, engineer human cooperation. While Manesi and colleagues found that images of gazing human eyes elicited prosocial behavior, the researchers did not utilize an fMRI to see which brain areas were involved. This study aims to examine which brain areas are involved in prosocial behavior that is activated by seeing pictures of human eyes and faces. The first two concern themselves with individual treatment, the last three concern themselves with community and order. A survey in 2008 compared individual s prioritization of these five channels with their position on the liberal/conservative spectrum. Oddly enough, I cannot begin this sentence with in contrast, or conversely, because the conservative individuals valued care and fairness relatively high as well. The three stories in question are The Leap, The Contents of a Dead Man s Pockets, and Ambush. The authors of these stories use aspects of their stories to shape the plot, show the theme, and to change the views of the characters in the stories. The first literary element used in the stories to form the plot, was the setting. In the story Ambush, the narrator is crouching in bushes alongside a dirt path that is shrouded in fog and mist. The narrator remarks when telling this story that, The mosquitoes were fierce. I remember slapping at them, wondering if I should wake up Kiowa and ask for some repellent, then ... The writers also used the conflicts of the stories to further the plot and to change the character s opinions and views. The conflict of Ambush, the narrator throwing a grenade at an unknown man, resulted in the narrator changing the way he acted in the future. Even now I haven t finished sorting it out. • 31. Kenneth Dodge s Theory Of Juvenile Delinquency Deviance among adolescents in our society has many different causes and multiple theories throughout the history of criminal justice have been developed to attempt to explain, prevent and reduce incidents of status offenses and juvenile delinquency. There are theories varying from individual, to social and environmental. All of these theories have their merits and contribute in one way or another to the advancement of the understanding of juvenile delinquency and the treatment and prevention of delinquency within our society. Those that have proven to be successful we have applied in our justice system while those that are proven over time to be ineffective or defective we have discarded. There is no single theory that applies to all delinquent behavior in all situations. It is best to determine what theory may work best in each specific case based on the individual and the specific situation. Dodge s information processing theory of social problem solving (Crick and Dodge 1994) was developed by Kenneth Dodge in an attempt to explain the interaction between the child s cognitive development and their social environment. This theory combines elements of both the individual and the social environment and examines how these two variables interact with each other to present a model for juvenile delinquency. During my investigation of this topic I discovered that an adapted model of Dodge s theory existed that seemed to be more encompassing of the causes of juvenile delinquency, ... Wolf Spider Predation ABSTRACT In Cautious versus desperado males: predation risk affects courtship intensity but not female choice in a wolf spider the courtship displays of the wolf spider, Pardosa milvina were investigated. The wolf spider s courtship display in males includes raising their legs and shaking their bodies. The rate of a males leg raises is a signal of the assets the male has, females that mate with males with quicker leg raises had more progeny and these left the egg sac faster and lived longer. Rypstra et al. wanted to determine if male wolf spiders that differ in assets and quality would behave differently under the risk of predation and wondered if the differences in reactions would affect how females choose their mates. This study consisted of two experiments, in the first experiment they determined that the symmetry of the front legs of males was related to their rate of leg raises, this was used as a measure of male quality. Headquartered in the United States, a large part of UPS s market share and revenues come from the business it conducts in Europe. The logistics design of UPS has three distinct functions, consolidation, distribution, and fragmentation. Consolidation is the collection of parcels to then be sent to distribution. Distribution works on a hub to hub basis with distance determining what mode of transportation will be used (Air or Ground). Fragmentation is the final design step in the UPS logistics design, combined with consolidation for the most part; this function is where products are delivered to their final destination. These basic functions have kept UPS a world leader in the logistics field and well ahead of their competitors. Relationship Between Milk Market Participation In this chapter, we study the relationship between the milk market participation of smallholder households and women`s intra household bargaining power in Ethiopia. Our data show that household income is indeed substantially higher in milk market participating households (101 versus 49 birr daily). This higher income of participating households is almost completely earned by selling raw milk to the market. The other way of receiving milk income processing raw milk into butter and cottage cheese for sale at the local market is much less important in market participant households than in non participant households. This difference has important consequences for the distribution of income within the household. Milk income from the formal market is received and controlled by men (who sign the contract with the milk company), whereas income from the local market is received and controlled by women. The consequences for the intra household distribution of income are clearly reflected in our data. In milk market participant households, men`s milk income is on average 93 birr per day, whereas in non participant households men do not earn income from milk on a daily bases. Women tend to earn and control the entire dairy income in non participant households (34 birr per day), but earn only 4 birr milk income per day in market participant households.
