1.3 Value chain analysis
It is important to evaluate the value chain since different countries around the world provide different
raw materials (Gundlach et al., 2006). All these materials have to maintain a certain level of quality as
a way of standardising the products. This standardisation is necessary to ensure quality is not
compromised and therefore, putting the company in a better

Virginia Hasn T Always Been For Lovers Chapter Summary
In the first chapter of Phyl Newbeck s book Virginia Hasn t always been for Lovers: Interracial
Marriage Bans and the Case of Richard and Mildred Loving, Newbeck introduces the story of Richard
and Mildred Loving, a white male and colored female who married. Their love was pure and home
some. When the two married Mildred did not realize, it was illegal for people of different races to
marry in Virginia. The Lovings lived in Central Point, Virginia their entire lives until the state forced
them to move out of the state and into Washington D.C, where their marriage was legal. The couple
could not even travel into Virginia to visit family without being arrested. Newbeck tells the entire
essence of the loving story, from them meeting, though ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I chose this book because though out the book Newbeck did more than just the case of Loving v.
Virginia but she also talks about all the laws against biracial relationships in all states across the
country before the case was settle in 1967. I chose the topic of interactional couples, and the
acceptance over time because I have a personal connection to the subject. As a Caucasian / Native
American girl who is in a relationship with a Caucasian/ Mexican boy. Even before I started this
relationship I have been interested in the interracial couple acceptance, growing up in today s age, I
have never really seen color. Yes, I can physical see if someone is an African American Race or
Chinese but never once has it affect how I see them as a person. I have always believed that when you
fall in love with someone you fall in love with their personality and smile. Every human s smile is
differently and it is based from what makes that person laugh. Newbeck, the Lovings, and myself all
have one thing in common love is love and it should be allowed no matter the race of the people

The Reality Of Television Shows
This Is What The Reality Of TV Is. The popularity of reality TV shows lately do not amaze me, in the
society today, people admire excessive pride than high moral standards. A lot of shows which need to
be cancelled portray and teach a lot of bad behaviors. Although these reality TV shows may make us
laugh or even amaze us with its characters, who are bad influences to the society especially children.
These shows gives us a picture of how people are drastically driven by the love of money, fame and
riches instead of the power of love of people for each other. The indecent and improper behavior being
displayed by these characters are not to be emulated because it has a negative effect on the society,
especially on children because the promote the use of drugs, alcohol and foul languages. Reality
shows such as Jersey Shore and Real World on MTV promote nothing but alcoholism. People get
hired just to have fun, involving alcohol. People get the wrong impression of how to act and behave,
making them think that the only way to have fun is by drinking alcohol and getting drunk. Most
people in the society today believe that alcohols consumed on shows make it seem cool or fun to drink
and get drunk. A reality show producer, Kurt Reams, once said that the rate and amount at which Tv
stars consume alcohol is ridiculous that most viewers could get influenced which is a wrong idea.

Analysis Of Buffy The Vampire Slayer
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, a supernatural drama series lasting from March of 1997 to May of 2003 was
a popular television show created by Joss Whedon. The show is considered one of the top fifty shows
of all times for many reasons including the fact that it is deeply rooted in the literary tradition, the
episodes always having deeper meanings and metaphors. The show was so successful despite being on
a small network that it led to hundred of tie in products such as novels, comics, and video games
according to Wikipedia. The show went as far as winning many awards and achievements including a
total of three Emmys including Outstanding Writing for the episode of Hush . In the episode of Hush
there are monsters called the gentlemen who appear in the town and steal everyone s voice. Buffy and
her friends, who already lacked communication had to defeat those monsters using a source to
interactive way in order to get it done. The episode Hush shows the significance and effectivity of
having good communication which is something that is taken for granted. Since the beginning of the
episode it is evident that there is a lack of communication. As Buffy and Riley walk with each other
they never say anything longer than a sentence to each other, they were both holding back which leads
to them lying. This shows the struggle they both have to face to have a simple conversation with each
other, neither of them say what they really wanted to say. While they are staring into each

Ideal City Analysis
Ideas of an Ideal City 2
The Ideas of Le Corbusier : Summary and Response In The Contemporary City , by urban planner Le
Corbusier, it describes Le Corbusier s idea of an optimal city. He talks about how traditionalism is still
present in cities, and they have to become contemporary. Having a central business district surrounded
by residential districts is one of three basic parts of a contemporary city. Along with a large amount of
open space for development, and suburbs further away from the city that include residential and
industrial areas. He also mentions his principles for the city, but he emphasizes on the way of
transportation which involves less cars to improve traffic, plus the addition of trains. Le Corbusier s
main idea was to change the major cities with architecture and his urban planning. However, in The
Radiant City , he updated his plans for The Contemporary City. He wanted the environment to feel
more efficient by being more active, so he added sports grounds outside of houses to make people feel
more inspired. On another note, he wanted to get rid of the garden cities in the suburbs, and move it
into the city in order to make the gardens more useful. As said for The Contemporary City , Le
Corbusier asserts the importance of transportation even more. The idea of having walk ways above
ground for people to travel through the city is to avoid the encounter of a car. The improved ideas and
development from a Radiant City have been

One Sunday, after introducing myself, Nancy asked me, Why don t your children attend Sunday

I explained, I support Christian education for everyone; however, I also want my children to
participate fully in the mainstream worship of the Church. I then added, If you re schedule Sunday

This includes the proclamation and interpretation of Scripture followed by a common meal. Although
Jesus did not directly reveal himself to them, Cleopus and the other disciple recognized Jesus in the
breaking of the bread. This is knowledge only God gives.
Peter also came to understand the Pascal Reality through the revelation of the Holy Spirit. Peter s
confession of Christ at Caesurae Philippi ( Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not
revealed to you by humans, but by my Father in Heaven Matt. 16: 16 17) exposed the human intellect

God s truth, not to the wise, but to those who trust God. Only God s Spirit can impart knowledge of
salvation.
Jesus instruction to the twelve disciples, Take up your cross and follow me , further reveals how
extemporal realities like the cross guided Jesus actions throughout his earthly ministry. The cross
produces faith in his followers. Indeed, one can only approach faith non rationally from ground zero
of one s being. Human understanding falls silent at the foot of the cross. Jesus, at his trial, refused to
answer even the slightest of Pilate s questions. The cross would be Pilate s final and only answer.

Abstract: Collegiate athletes participating in the two revenue sports (football, men s basketball)
sacrifice their time, education, and risk physical harm for their respected programs. The players are
controlled by a governing body (NCAA) that dictates when they can show up to work, and when they
cannot show up for work. They are restricted from making any substantial financial gains outside of
their sports arena. These athletes receive no compensation for their efforts, while others prosper from
their abilities. The athletes participating in the two revenue sports of college athletics, football and

There is a reality to college athletes participating in men s basketball and football. The reality is these
athletes are being exploited, and as argued by Stanley Eitzen, they are being exploited much like
slaves during the years of the plantation system. It is an idea created by Eitzen that seams overdrawn,
but makes significant parallels to that of the plantation system. The National Collegiate Athletic
Association (NCAA) preserves the plantation system, providing the rules that protect the interests of
the individual plantation overseers. The plantations are football and men s basketball factories within
the universities with big time programs. The plantation overseers are college coaches who receive
hard labor from their workers. The workers on the plantation are owned by the plantation, they
produce riches for their masters while receiving a meager amount of return on the profits of the
plantation. Being exploited for their physical abilities is not the only injustice hindering these athletes.
They are controlled, managed, and dominated by their superiors. They are restricted in their rights to
freedom, and in some cases mistreated physically and mentally (Eitzen).
Many people who watch and are directly affiliated with college sports would be opposed

Social Responsibility Of Boeing
Boeing is the largest aerospace company and the largest manufactor of commercial and military
aircraft in the world. Boeings military aircraft come equipped with missiles, satellite, launch vehicles
and advanced information and communication systems. Boeing is the number one U.S. exporter when
it comes to sales. Boeing s management must understand the importance of the legal, ethical and
social responsibility of their organizations. All of the above mentioned will have an effect on the
planning function of management.
Legal Issues
Some of the legal regulations Boeing encounters are antitrust regulations and foreign trade
regulations. The government can influence a company s strategy by the laws the government imposes.
A company has a legal responsibility to follow all government regulations. Boeing will also have to
pay attention to environmental laws and copyright and patent laws. Boeing must also pay attention to
impositions that other countries may put on the airline industry. Boeing must respond appropriately to
other countries political and economic environment. The biggest legal responsibility Boeing faces is
the safety of their passengers. When an airplane crashes without being manipulated by outside factors
it is always the responsibility of the airline. The airline will be responsible for paying out any
compensatory damages to the surviving family members.

The Main Types Of Market Research
Introduction
For this first assignment I will provide a manual that shows the main types of market research. Market
research is the method of gathering and analyse information about customers, competitors and the
market. Market research is used when companies want to focus on things like market trends, customer
habits and lifestyle, what price customers will pay for a product and what competition exists. This
type of research assists companies build an idea on how competitive the market is also business
owners can price their products efficiently with the understanding of the current market research.

Eg: changing the price of a product and seeing what happens. The advantages of using experiments is
that you can create real world, concrete and verifiable findings that can be repeated. This is the most
believable way for a general populous to accept a finding of a research team. There are also
disadvantages like high costs of performing experiments and it can also be dangerous. In addition,
experimentation can involve a long period of time waiting for something to happen; oftentimes,
multiple trials are needed to confirm findings.
3. Surveys, surveys are one of the most frequently used methods of market research. It typically
involves the use of a questionnaire (enquette). There are several ways of conducting a survey, I chose
for face to face. This is the best form of contact. It allows two way communication between researcher
and respondent. Eg: A questionnaire asks people in the streets a few question/opinion. The advantages
of using surveys is that it is flexible, gestures, facial and other expressions may be noted. The
disadvantage of face to face is that it may become distorted as a result of the interpersonal
relationships between interviewer and interviewee
Secondary research
Secondary research involves using existing information rather than finding out new information. The
two main sources of secondary research are: 2 types: internal (Information that

Apologetic Artice Review
The following article was written by David Wheeler for publication in an apologetics encyclopedia.
However, the subject matter of the article is equally as important in the realm of evangelism.
Considering that most approaches to evangelism, including Share Jesus Without Fear, are basically
driven by supplying proper information , at what point does one s incarnational lifestyle enter into the
equation? Is evangelism only the communication of proper information, or does it also include the
total person in reference to one s outward behavior that validates the information to the world? Is it
both information and incarnation ?

The same argument can be applied to other areas of traditional apologetics. Consider for a moment the
important issues related to the resurrection of Christ. While the historical and biblical aspects are
imperative in validating the authenticity of the event, one must never ignore how that miraculous
event transforms the individual expressions of a Christian s daily life.
For instance, a Muslim friend who converted to Christianity communicated that it was not the great
arguments of traditional informational apologetics that finally drew him to examine the claims of
Christ. On the contrary, it was the consistent caring actions of a high school friend who lived out a
resurrected life before him.
It was not that his friend ever stopped verbally sharing the informational truths about Christ with him.
The truth is that he boldly shared the gospel on many occasions. The bottom line was the simple
undeniable fact that his friend s life incarnationally validated the biblical truths he graciously
espoused.
In fact, the former Muslim admitted that he regularly abused and embarrassed his schoolmate hoping
that he would grow weary and leave him alone. In the end, the former Muslim became a Christian
because he could not argue with the evidences of a transformed life that ultimately became a tool of
the Holy Spirit prompting his heart to further examine the directions of his faith.
It is here that both the incarnational and informational

Compare And Contrast Didion And Thomas
There are always two sides to every story, sometimes even more. When discussing the phenomenon of
the Santa Ana winds and their accompanying brush fires, Linda Thomas and Joan Didion each have
their own side of the story. Throughout the texts, Didion and Thomas converge with one another by
means of their life experiences as southern Californians and also through using sensory details to
illustrate their stories. However, they do not share similar feelings towards the nature of the winds and
fire. The authors diverge in this way as well as in their viewpoints on the conflict of people and nature.
Through these similarities and differences, both Didion and Thomas build their respective messages
into well written texts. Didion and Thomas share ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Brush Fires, Thomas points out that chaparral has been there since before people settled the area
and, the burning of chaparral during these winds is natural (Thomas). She argues that the chaparral
zone should take precedent over suburban development in her sixth paragraph, All of this would be no
more than the stuff of natural history...Right in the path of natural fires (Thomas). Her stance on the
matter is clear: homes being burned to the ground are not the fault of the fires, but of the moronic
humans who built them in the middle of a known chaparral zone. Didion, however, does not agree.
She argues that the fires are destroying homes in a sense of uncontrollable doom in the
aforementioned paragraph 5, The Santa Ana caused Malibu to burn as it did in 1956, and Bel Air in
1961, and Santa Barbara in 1964 (Didion). Didion believes that the brush fires of the Santa Ana winds
are an obstacle to people due to the bad vibes and horrible fires they bring. Whereas, Thomas believes
that the encroaching human population is the obstacle to the natural brush fires that are just running

There were multiple technical problems with the Affordable Care Act website (known as

health insurance policies, the website needs enhancements. Most recently, since November 2014,
changes have been made to the Healthcare.gov website in order to stem other challenges. For instance,
there is less information that new users will have to enter to register for health insurance (Ydstie,

According to research, there were fifty five contractors used to implement the website, perhaps
causing development crosstalk problems, in itself (Fountain, 2013). The website was also not set up
for customers who wanted to browse prices. If clients did not want to buy a policy, the y had a difficult
time weighing their options. This may have caused some of these clients to not purchase the
government health insurance that was offered.
The worst issue is that many health care providers reported that they received duplicate applications
and many unfinished applications. This is a problem on the Affordable Care Act website side as well
as the end user. These setbacks are causing issues for the user as well as the insurance company.
Also, the supportability of the Healthcare website was not user friendly when it was launched. Instead
of seamless application completion and few complaints, there were too many glitches for the website
to run properly. The user interface (UI) was not very useable. Many early users are still reporting
similar issues with the site to this day.
In addition, many requirements definitions could have been fixed, pre launch. Firstly, developers need
to work on the accessibility of the website. In the earliest stages of the website creation, they should

Understand The Difference Between Engine And A 6 Cylinder...
Choosing Between A 4 Cylinder And A 6 Cylinder Engine
When purchasing a vehicle, new or used the type of engine is just as important as any other feature.
Understanding the difference between the different engine types and sizes will help you to make an
informed decision when choosing a vehicle.
What Is The Difference?
A 4 cylinder engine contains 4 pistons while a 6 cylinder contains 6, driving the power of your engine.
So the easy answer would be more cylinders equals more power. Most small cars, light trucks, and
even some small SUV s contain 4 cylinder engines. 4 cylinder engines are typically inline engines (the
4 cylinders are in a straight line as opposed to a v shape like most 6 cylinder engines), making them
smaller and lighter weight.

CF is caused by a mutation in the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CTFR) gene,
which encodes a chloride ion channel that regulates osmotic balance across the epithelium through the
transport of sodium ions and water4. Mutations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, P. aeruginosa is the archetypal pathogen infecting the CF lungs since approximately 80% of
adult CF patients are chronically infected with this bacteria1. P. aeruginosa is a ubiquitous Gram
negative bacterium that thrives in moist environmental reservoirs such as in the soil, water and
plants8, 9. P. aeruginosa is an opportunistic human pathogen that infects immunocompromised
individuals, lending to its association with life threatening illnesses10. In addition to pulmonary
infections in CF patients, P. aeruginosa is frequently found in nosocomial infections11. As such, P.
aeruginosa is recognized for its medical importance in clinical infections. Early infection with P.
aeruginosa resembles acute non CF infections within the airways, however the bacterium can evolve
genotypically and phenotypically during infection, and adapt to its human host1. Adaptive mutations
resulting in loss of motility and acquired antibiotic resistance support a sessile lifestyle that is
associated with persistent infection within the CF lungs9, 12. Chronic infection is characterized by
immunity mediated inflammation from increased recruitment of polymorphonuclear leukocytes to the
lungs2. Furthermore, P. aeruginosa utilizes an assortment of virulence factors such as proteases,
exotoxin A, and phospholipases to destroy host tissue, by which the symptoms of CF patients are

Viruses Are Parasites Using Its Host s Cells
Viruses are parasites using its host s cells to replicate its own genome (Freeman, 2011). Viruses have
either a deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) or ribonucleic acid (RNA) genome that affects its specific
named genome. Types of RNA viruses include positive strand, negative strand, double strand and
RNA transcriptase. RNA viruses have evolved into effective pathogens that mutate at high rates. This
allows them an advantage over their host to effectively evade the immune system through several
mechanisms, such as mimicry, avoiding cell lysis, and phagocytosis. Their ability to bypass a cell s
normal process of proof reading and error correction is what makes RNA viruses such effective
pathogens. Almost all RNA viruses are termed emerging infectious diseases because they are already
known, but are increasing rapidly in new areas. There are a few emerging infectious RNA viruses that
have reappeared into the population and have the potential to cause an epidemic.
Ebola hemorrhagic disease, rabies, influenza and HIV are examples of RNA viruses and a few of these
viruses have yet to be thoroughly researched. An example of an RNA virus that mutates and evolves at
a high rate is the influenza virus. The influenza virus can mutate in two different ways; antigenic shift
which is an abrupt change and by antigenic drift which is a smaller, more gradual change that occurs
through point mutations (Uyeki 2014). These changes are what help the virus to evade the host s
immune system. Another

Introduction to Ultrasonic Distance Meter
ULTRA SONIC DISTANCE METER. Introduction to Ultrasonic Distance Meter The project
Ultrasonic Distance Meter is a very interesting and useful project for many industrial applications. In
this project we have used the ultrasonic waves to measure the distance in between two points. The
basic principal is based on the speed of ultrasonic waves in open air. We have used a microcontroller
AT89S51 to transmit and receive ultrasonic waves through 40 KHz ultrasonic receiver and
transmitters. By measuring the time required to travel the unknown distance by ultrasonic waves in air
we can find out the distance between two points. The distance measured is displayed on a LCD

The Problem Of The European Debt Crisis
Introduction
The European debt crisis is a culmination of many factors and long gone are the days of economies
not being tied to each other. With modern globalization, major financial crisis s can lead to worldwide
turmoil and economic downturn. What happens in other markets, will not only affect their market, but
markets all over the world. Because of this, the European debt crisis is not just Europe s problem, but
rather everybody s problem. The rout causes of the European Debt Crisis are known. However,
restoring the economies that were hardest hit is no easy task. Economist all over the world have ideas
and plans that they think will work. Only time will tell what works, and the longer it takes, the harder
it is on the citizens of the countries affected most.
Description
As mentioned earlier, globalization has led to all markets being tied together. With the United States
being one of the biggest economies in the world, and the financial crisis it was going through in 2009,
it started a ripple effect throughout Europe. With Americans defaulting on their mortgages, banks in
Europe who had invested in the United States housing by buying bonds, were now losing money. The
effect that this had on European countries was devastating. The money that they borrowed, they lost
and when it came time to pay back, they simply couldn t. The ripple effect that started in the United
States, was now starting to destroy the economy in European countries starting the very beginning of

Tom Cant Character Analysis
Tom Canty was a poverty stricken young boy, who grew up in a somewhat immoral family. Despite
this, Tom developed himself sticking to good morals, as he displayed throughout the story. For
example, Tom displayed his perseverance in rarely complaining throughout his rough life.
Furthermore, growing up poorly, he was often considerate of others, as he understood their troubles.
Lastly, although he lived the life of a beggar, Tom was an honest young man. Tom Canty, a young
pauper boy, despite growing up in a rather destitute neighborhood, lead a good moral youth, and
displayed the virtues of perseverance, compassion, and integrity. Since he had been raised in a poor
environment, Tom grew to be a perseverant boy who tried his best despite difficulty. Whenever Tom
came home without earning any money from begging, he would be beaten by both his father and
grandmother, and sent to bed without dinner. Despite this, Tom did not think of his life as particularly
disagreeable, and enjoyed thinking of himself as a prince. His wonderful fantasies of princehood
comforted Tom whenever he was particularly down, and encouraged him to be optimistic about the
future. Thus, Tom ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Examples Of Ghost In Hamlet
Hamlet: Belief of Ghost from a Psychological Perspective Psychological factors can be seen as the
reason people believe in ghost. It could be because their minds have the concept of ghost wired into
them because of genetics or because of intuition and the thought of ghost. People could also have
psychological tendencies, such as depression and dissociation, which make them think they have seen
ghost. In the play Hamlet by William Shakespeare, The main character hamlet is struggling with the
belief in ghost. In the beginning of the play Hamlet talks to his father s ghost. The ghost tells him to

behind people s belief in ghost. One of Boyer s big points of why the minds of humans have ghost
concepts, is merely genetics. Boyer believes it s likely that during some point in evolution, some
humans minds got more open to ghost concepts. The idea of people s minds being open to ghost
concepts could explain why many early civilizations took care of burring their dead in a respectable
manor. Boyer also states that ghost concepts could be intuitive. That the thought of ghosts produce
inferences and assumptions of ghost as normal. People will think ghost are real, just because they are

Characters And Nihilism In The Novel s Fathers And Sons
In the novel, Fathers and Sons , the character Bazarov is known to be a self confident, and intelligent
doctor who s known to leave a few great impressions behind when interacting with his fellow
characters large and small, like Fenichka and the lower classman people. However, as nice as he may
seem, I do not believe that the story intends Bazarov to be the protagonist, but rather the antagonist.
His belief of nihilism, the rejection of all religious and moral principles, is one of the reasons why he
is shown as an antagonist. Following that, is how he rudely carries out his own opinions to others, but
then later on, turns out to be a hypocritic of his own teachings ; making him very displeasing to the
audience to read. So although some may argue that Bazarov is a hero, because of lighter traits, I would
have to disagree because of his belief of nihilism, how he carries it out to people and later turning
himself into a hypocritic, making the novel play against Bazarov rather than for him.
In the beginning of the story, Bazarov was known as a great friend to Arkady, and for a short lived
time, he was not wrong. Bazarov was written with attractive figures for an antagonist, physically and
non physical. Typically, an antagonist is seen as evil and ugly from the inside to out, but Bazarov was
the exact opposite. A calm smile,(looks of ) self confident and intelligent (3) , with the education of a

Howard s Utopia Essay
The notion of Garden City , famously explored by Ebenezer Howard was a solution intended to bring
together the economic and cultural advantages of both city and country living. He sees it as an
alternative to the congested urban areas in England. Canberra the capital city of Australia differs from
the garden city proper, a city that is perhaps not what Howard wished garden city to be. Nonetheless
Canberra is a city that incorporates many of the garden city principles and in this essay I will argue
that Canberra indeed is a garden city, as Canberra is build on central garden city concepts such as
public ownership of land, limited growth and population in the city and a balance between town and
country. Whilst Canberra may not be a true ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, this system did not benefits citizens in any collective ways and is gradually been abolished
(Czamanski and Benchetrit 2004). Howard s vision of social reform achieved through community
ownership of land never materialised. While Canberra was deeply touched by his idea, yet the direct
economic impact is some what minimal.
Garden city was subject to limited growth and limited population. Howard (1965) anticipated that the
garden city would have a population of 30,000 32,000 in the town and other 2,000 in the agricultural
lands. When the city reaches its limits, it would replicate itself in a new community separated by a
greenbelt yet connected by railways. The published sketch in figure 1 suggests the garden city to be
circular, though Howard (1965) conceded that the shape was suggestive. Canberra was not expected to
be a large city. Still, Griffin planned the city for 45,000, this was reached by 1960. By 1965 it was
78,000 and in 2004 the population was around 330,000. The population is anticipated to grow to
500,000 in the next 25 years. (Firth n.d) This does not show any indication of limited population that
Howard wants in the garden city. Nevertheless, the National Capital Development Commission (1984)
did took the ideas of Howard s garden city growth concept refined it and developed the Y Plan as a
strategy to cope with Canberra s long term

Siege of Leningrad the Road of Life The siege of Leningrad or Saint Petersburg as it is known today is
the deadliest siege in World War II and modern world history lasting approximately 872 days from

cost was paid in the sheer amount of lives lost to starvation and the urban landscape utterly decimated

The Birth Narrative Of Jesus Christ
As children many of us were told or taught the birth narrative of Jesus Christ. The story was much
simpler, Mary the wife of Joseph was told by Gabriel the angel she was in favor of God because she
had been faithful to him. Though Mary was a virgin God preformed a miracle and Mary bore a child.
He was born in manger and surrounded by shepherds and wise men who brought gifts to their new
savior. For most of us that is the story of Jesus s birth and in the New Testament Matthew and Luke
tell a similar story, but reading the text the audience can find some subtle and significant differences.
In this paper I will discuss the implications of reading both Matthew and Luke. Conferring my
research to what is presented within the New Testament I will argue that Matthew and Luke told the
story that they had heard from oral tradition and this can prove that the basic facts of both gospels are
mainly true but are changed through generations. To first understand my thesis, we must know the
story of Matthew and Luke. To begin I will focus on the differences of Matthew and follow with Luke.
1:1 1:17 establishes the genealogy of Jesus1. Matthew follows his ancestry to Abraham, the father of
Isaac2. He continues with the son Jacob the father of Judah and so on3. Matthew s story also contains
a set of main characters: Joseph, Mary, Wise men, and Herod the Great4, and a very well known
location, Bethlehem. As our childhood story was told Mary, the virgin, was blessed with a miracle.

Knights Of The White Camellia Essay
As slaves, African Americans were seen as weak, frail, and fragile individuals. Although they were
perceived as powerless, they undoubtedly held all of the power. Afro Americans were not deemed a
threat until the abolishment of slavery in 1865. The 13th Amendment to the United States Constitution
states that Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the
party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, nor any place subject to their
jurisdiction. In Congress, it was passed by the Senate on April 8, 1864, and by the House on January
31, 1865. This transformation in America allowed African Americans a sense of liberation about
themselves. On the contrary, it also instilled a certain fear in White Americans.

It was a secret organization of white men formed in the lower Southern states in the Reconstruction
period to promote white supremacy. Blacks endured violence and white attempts to keep them as close
as they could in slavery in Florida. The objectives of the Knights of the White Camellia include voting
only for white men, defending the white race from the aggression and encroachment of an inferior
race, and protect females and widows. The main objective was the return of political control to
conservative whites. They used economic intimidation and persuasion to achieve their political
objectives. Another group responsible for white supremacy in the south was The White League. The
White League was a paramilitary group that was allied with the Democratic Party in the South. In
1874 and 1875, the White League was responsible for widespread violence against black and white

Family Memory Essay
Of all the memories that I have with my family on vacation, the memory that is worth telling is the
time I went to Atlanta, Georgia. I was about four or five years old and was still attending Preschool. I
remember it as if it was yesterday. It was spring break and my family decided to rent a van out and
travel down to see my aunt Cherie. There was my mother, grandmother, my aunt and her two
daughters Yasmine and Imani and I. We left early in the morning on Good Friday so we could beat
some of the traffic. I slept for about the first three hours of the ride and I wo being surrounded by trees
and the open road. Everyone in the car is talking making jokes as my aunt was driving. As we are
getting more than halfway there, my mother starts to feel nauseous and told my aunt to pull the car
over. Further along in the drive as we are getting closer to Georgia, my mom tells my aunt pulls the
van over and she crawls to the door and starts throwing up. Everyone was so confused because she
was just fine before that. She finishes throwing up and then we continued to drive down the road and
then my cousin Imani begins to start to feel nauseous. My aunt pulls over at the next rest stop so
everyone can just freshen up and get their bodily functions together. We then continued the drive
down to Georgia and at this point, we are around north or south Carolina so we are in the home
stretch. Next thing you know, I start to feel nauseous and start to burp leaving a sour taste in my
mouth. The

My Religion Essay
My Religion
What religion am I? In my life, I have been told many things about my religion. My mother is a
Roman Catholic, while my father is Jewish. I have learned about both religions, and I have tried to
practice both as best I could, but I am now faced with the decision; which one am I? Christians believe
that Jesus is both God and man, incarnation of God, and man gives man two natures, physical and
divined that they are united in one person. Thus the mystery of God becoming a human being, Jesus,
and suffered and died, and Mary (Jesus mother) was the mother of God. God resolved himself to
mankind in 3 ways, as God the father, God the sun and the Holy Spirit. From this we can see that
Christianity is based on the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His or her life is structured from birth to death, through, the sacraments weekly worship, daily prayer
and the promise of eternal life.
Judaism is the complex expression of a religious community, a way of life as well as a set of basic
beliefs and values, which is separated in patterns of action, social order, and culture as well as in
religious statements and concepts. The ideal is to remember God in everything one does, through
prayer and keeping the commandments. There are many spiritual practices that the Jewish people
follow as a reminder of their faith and as a way to engage all the senses in awareness of God. Some of
these scared practices include: circumcision, Sabbath, eating kosher foods, and Bar Mitzvah. Of all of
the commandments in Judaism, the brit milah, is probably the one most universally observed. It is
commonly referred to as a bris. Even the most seculars of Jews, who observe no other part of Judaism,
almost always observe these laws. Boys are ritually circumcised when they are eight days old, to
honor the seal of God s commandment to Abraham. A person who is uncircumcised suffers the penalty
of kareit, spiritual elimination. Sabbath is the most important ritual observance in Judaism. It is
primarily a day of rest and spiritual enrichment. The Jewish Sabbath runs from sunset Friday night to
sunset Saturday night. Observant Jewish families begin the Sabbath eve with a special Friday night
dinner. The woman of the house lights candles to bring in

Narcissist Personality Disorder
Narcissism is a disorder which summed up is just only caring about yourself, but i m not able to just
sum it up like that am I :) . It is a personality disorder that leads you to be more interested into oneself
then the surrounding people or anyone for that matter. This term came from the greek gods when one
god fell in love with himself through a reflection. Traits are An obvious self focus in interpersonal
exchanges, problems in sustaining satisfying relationships, a lack of psychological awareness, and
difficulty with empathy. This personality disorder is estimated to be in about 1% of the whole

The concept of excessive selfishness has been recognized throughout history. In ancient Greece the
concept was understood as hubris. It is only more recently that narcissism has been defined in
psychological terms. Healthy narcissism forms a constant, realistic self interest and mature goals and
principles and an ability to form deep relations to an something. Within psychology, there are two
main branches of research into narcissism: clinical and social psychology. These approaches differ in
their view of narcissism, with the former treating it as a disorder, thus as discrete, and the latter
treating it as a personality trait, thus as a continuum. These two strands of research tend loosely to
stand in a divergent relation to one another, although they converge in places. Self regulation in
narcissists involves such things as striving to make one s self look and feel positive, special,
successful and important. It comes in both intrapsychic, such as blaming a situation rather than self for
failure, and interpersonal forms, such as using a relationship to serve one s own self. Some differences
in self regulation between narcissists and non narcissists can be seen with Campbell, Reeder,
Sedikides] who conducted a study with two

How To Help Haiti
For those of you that are interested in the aiding of Haiti, Look no further; there are plenty of ways to
help in the Haitian community! For various people, it may seem that Haiti is in a constant state of
desperation. Meanwhile, it also may seem that nobody is concerned about Haiti at all. But now,
plentiful people are actually taking Haiti s state of desperation into consideration. Haiti s state of
desperation is important by reason of the neglect, pain, and suffering that the wonderful citizens must
endure during times of poverty, illness, and natural disaster. Haiti s poor state is also caused by the
minority of wealthy people inside and outside of Haiti with the knowledge to control the country. I
believe that by researching Haiti s needs, you will find out how to properly support Haiti! One way
that you can help Haiti is by donating money. This is, ordinarily, the quickest way to help Haiti, in
behalf of the innumerable things the money can help pay for. All things considered, this can be
inferred from the article, #PrayForHaiti: 8 Things You Can Do to Help, where the author implies, The

Financing a Worldwide Expansion Strategy for a Limousine...
Introduction My company has become quite successful, and is now considering an expansion. In order
to facilitate this expansion, we are considering purchasing a competitor. My company is a limousine
company, and we have expanded via franchising into a number of different states and metro areas at
this point. We are considering purchasing a rival that operates mainly in areas adjacent to ours, with
the objective of expanding our presence in those markets, and building our brand. This strategy is part
of a plan to grow the business nationwide. Valuation Methods There are several valuation methods
that can be used to analyze the competing company. These are adjusted book value, capitalized
adjusted earnings, discounted future earnings, the cash flow method and the gross revenue multiplier
(Collin.edu, 2013). Another technique is to base the valuation on the stock market valuation of a
similar company. In this case, most limousine services are not publicly traded, so the stock market
option is not available. Thus, the optimal method will come from the other five options. The adjusted
book value of the operation is based on the idea that we are paying for the firm s book value, in
particular with the book value of the assets or the book value of the equity. This is a decent option,
since we can expect to utilize our own brand, therefore the important part of the purchase is the assets
that we are acquiring, everything from cars to drivers to customer contacts. However,

The Characters Of The Indigenous People In Mexico, By...
Cabeza de Vaca has an interest in depicting the indigenous people he encounters in a certain manner.
The perception that the indigenous people of the Americas were naturally subordinate, immoral, and
resourceful was vital to the Spanish colonial conquest. It allowed them to indulge in their quest for
empire under the guise of trying to bring the indigenous into their society. Truthfully, it was a way for
the Spanish to practice their racism and cruelty. Cabeza de Vaca subtly communicates a portrayal of
the indigenous that depicts them just as the Spanish empire wanted them to be, while at the same time
positioning himself as their superior, therefore solidifying Cabeza de Vaca as a leadership figure who s
experience in dealing with the indigenous and landscapes was invaluable to the Spanish s goals. The
passage begins with the words And to console them... , a phrase suggesting that Spanish presence in
the Americas is bringing great grief to the indigenous, due to how it is causing divides amongst the
indigenous, as well as how it creates a justification for the raiding that takes place through an
exchange. The Spanish and their allies receive the indigenous goods, while in return the get a measly
consolation of words, which in this case are supposed to be the most sound advice possible. It is
immediately followed by the robbers told them... , where Cabeza de Vaca has decided to forego
erroneously calling the indigenous Indians, and calls the indigenous that are aiding him

Violence In Venezuela Essay
About a million protesters flooded the streets of Venezuelan capital Caracas to demand constitutional
right to recall referendum.
The peaceful protesters waved flags and wore white while marching. Police was deployed in the city
to maintain law and order during the protest.
There is no food. There is no paper. There is no medicine. We are dying, a protester Maria Alvarez
told CNN. Please, help Venezuela. This has to end. Maduro, you have to understand that your time is
up.
The protesters resorted to violence by vandalizing and burning cars, throwing Molotov cocktails, and
blocking roads in some parts of the city.
President Nicolas Maduro urged the Venezuelan people to fight for peace in Caracas, and to raise their

This is a conscious people and will be mobilized forever, Maduro said at the rally.
A few protesters wore masks and threw rocks at the police. The police then used tear gas to bring them
under control and detained some of the rioters.
Maduro said that those who incite violence in the city will be prosecuted as per the law.
In view of the recent events, he said that he will withdraw immunity protections from politicians, so
that the suspected coup plotters in parliament could be prosecuted by courts.
Maduro told the rally of supporters, who also took to the streets, that the opposition wants to carry out
a coup to overthrow his government in a similar coup attempt as in 2002 which sought to oust his late
predecessor Hugo Chavez.
We are here at the call of our President, to defend the revolution, Carolina Aponte, a 37 year old
housewife at the pro government rally, was quoted as saying by AFP.
The referendum had moved a step closer in July when National Electoral Council (CNE) verified 1
percent of the signatures on recall petition required in the process. Some 20 percent of the signatures
of registered voters (3.9 million signatures) are needed to for the recall voting to be confirmed.
The MUD (Mesa de la Unidad/Democratic Unity Roundtable), which holds power in Venezuelan
parliament asked the CNE to make available 14,500 centers and 40,000 computers for people to sign

An Analysis of Personality Theory
An Analysis of Personality Theory by for Everyone has a personality, of course, but until fairly
recently, there were no personality theories available to help understand what factors contribute to its
development. In recent years, though, personality theories such as McCrae and Costa s Big Five and
Schwartz s theory of basic values have been advanced for these purposes. To gain some deeper
insights into these issues, this paper presents a review of the relevant peer reviewed and scholarly
literature to provide a definition of personality and an examination of theoretical approaches to
studying personality. Finally, an analysis of those factors that may influence an individual s
personality development is followed by a summary of the research and important findings concerning
personality theory in the conclusion. Review and Analysis Definition of Personality An individual s
personality is comprised of several factors, some of which may be more prominent at some times than
others. The dictionary entry personality defines it as, the complex of characteristics that distinguishes
an individual or a nation or group; especially the totality of an individual s behavioral and emotional
characteristics (Merriam Webster, 2001, p. 1687). In this regard, Barrick and Mount (1999) advise
that, Personality may to advantage be broadly analyzed into five distinguishable but separate factors,
namely intellect, character, temperament, disposition and temper (p. 2). Examination of

Romani The Second Largest Part Of The European Union Essay
Romania being the seventh largest part of the European union has come along way over the years to
develop a strong foundation to rebuild its name and their people. Romania is located on the
southeastern side of Europe bordering the black sea between Bulgaria and Ukraine. With their
outstanding geography, Romania is full of land, mountains, hills and valleys that attract many tourists
from all around the world. The word may tend to travel about relaxing waters that act as healing
remedies for many illnesses that come past the roman grounds. The temperate climate can make the
seasons easy to come and go, but ideal for people to enjoy while visiting. With the strong presence of
the Hungarian people accenting the medieval towns that still exist. These towns are filled with
monuments, galleries, tombs, and other exciting cultural and historical remains. There are very few
natural resources that help to structure and support the imports and exports set up. Some of those
natural resources are petroleum, timber, natural gas, coal, iron ore, salt, and arable land. Most of these
resources are also available in the surrounding counties. Exports have been the main driver of the
recent improvement in the current account balance. The growth of exports translated into strong gains
in export market shares. In the past two decades Romania s Market shares have grew amazingly 4.6%.

Symbolism In Good County People By Flannery OConner
Flannery O Conner, the author of Good County People, looks at the perceptional ways that others
identify themselves in this story. The title of this story draws from Mrs. Hopewell. This character sees
people in general, including her hardworking employees, as either good county people or trash. Mrs.
Hopewell views herself at a much higher social hierarchy status than the others. There are several
symbolisms in this tale as Flannery has the reader engaged and perplexed. The smooth talking
character Manley Pointer, a supreme con artist and fake Bible Salesman, uses his clever witty words to
put Mrs. Hopewell at ease and earn her trust. Mrs. Hopewell is naïve, yet a true optimist of her
impression and interpretation of good county people. She would be enchanted and deceived by his
words, letting her guard down allowing herself and daughter to placing them in an uncompromising
situation, only to be good county people, deceived by the trashy Manley Pointer. The Mother Mrs.
Hopewell, and daughter Joy, have very similar views of themselves and others. They have extremely
narrow views in a way that blinds their overall perception when meeting other people. Joy has a sever
image complex and it is truly exasperated due to her overall health concerns. Joy and her Mother
appear to have a dreadful relationship. The name Joy means rejoicing. Sadly, Joy would legally
change her name to the harsh, ugly name of Hulga. Hulga felt her name change would be interpreted,
as the Ugly sweating Vulcan that stayed in the furnace and to whom, presumable the goddess had to
come when called. She saw it as the name of her highest creation act (271). It appears Hulga was
comparing herself to Hephaestus, The Roman god, who is the God of Fire, was ugly and extremely
undesirable physically. With her new name recreation, she would think of herself as beautiful. Similar
to Aphrodite the goddess of beauty, as Aphrodite was also the wife to the ugly Roman god
Hephaestus. One of Hulga s major triumphs was that her Mother was not able to turn her dust into Joy,
but the greater one was that Joy had been able to turn herself into Hulga (271). Hulga wants a new
identity and thinks changing her name will allow her to escape her past..

jazz concert review Essay
The first question I asked myself at the beginning of the quarter was how much do I actually know
about jazz? I have always characterized jazz music as a rhythmic and instrumental form of music. My
impression on the basis of the jazz has always been portrayed with the African American race. I think
this was build up from the rhythm n blues era and meaning according to the dictionary ( style of music
that was invented by African American musicians in the early part of the twentieth century and has
very strong rhythms and often involves improvisation ). But Louis Armstrong s famous reply was if
you had to ask, you ll never know . Whatever else he meant, he was at least saying that jazz is

impressed by two Korean were members of his big band. A massive piano player, Ji Young Lee, pretty
amazing in all pieces, her extended work on but beautiful was really lovely and the most memorable.

remarkable arrangement of Ain t No Sunshine When She s Gone, as well as some elegant and very
impressive, as Maynard ended a song by playing a soft muted trumpet, while the rest of the band
played softer and softer, creating the effect of a fade out.
Really high and loud all night long... including my self and my friends, the audience seemed really
appreciating his hit medley at the end. It made us to believe that he plays over the top with excellent
showmanship. Our waitress was little busy most of that night but the cocktail was good so it was okay

The popularity of reality TV shows lately do not amaze me, in the society today, people admire excessive pride than high moral standards. A lot of shows which need to be cancelled portray and teach a lot of bad behaviors. Although these reality TV shows may make us laugh or even amaze us with its characters, who are bad influences to the society especially children. These shows gives us a picture of how people are drastically driven by the love of money, fame and riches instead of the power of love of people for each other. The indecent and improper behavior being displayed by these characters are not to be emulated because it has a negative effect on the society, especially on children because the promote the use of drugs, alcohol and foul languages. Reality shows such as Jersey Shore and Real World on MTV promote nothing but alcoholism. People get hired just to have fun, involving alcohol. People get the wrong impression of how to act and behave, making them think that the only way to have fun is by drinking alcohol and getting drunk. Most people in the society today believe that alcohols consumed on shows make it seem cool or fun to drink and get drunk. A reality show producer, Kurt Reams, once said that the rate and amount at which Tv stars consume alcohol is ridiculous that most viewers could get influenced which is a wrong idea. ... The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) preserves the plantation system, providing the rules that protect the interests of the individual plantation overseers. The same argument can be applied to other areas of traditional apologetics. Consider for a moment the important issues related to the resurrection of Christ. While the historical and biblical aspects are imperative in validating the authenticity of the event, one must never ignore how that miraculous event transforms the individual expressions of a Christian s daily life. For instance, a Muslim friend who converted to Christianity communicated that it was not the great arguments of traditional informational apologetics that finally drew him to examine the claims of Christ. On the contrary, it was the consistent caring actions of a high school friend who lived out a resurrected life before him. It was not that his friend ever stopped verbally sharing the informational truths about Christ with him. The truth is that he boldly shared the gospel on many occasions. The bottom line was the simple undeniable fact that his friend s life incarnationally validated the biblical truths he graciously espoused. In fact, the former Muslim admitted that he regularly abused and embarrassed his schoolmate hoping that he would grow weary and leave him alone. In the end, the former Muslim became a Christian because he could not argue with the evidences of a transformed life that ultimately became a tool of the Holy Spirit prompting his heart to further examine the directions of his faith. Cystic Fibrosis (Cf) Is Introduction Cystic fibrosis Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a lethal autosomal recessive disorder with a clinical incidence of 1 in every 3500 newborns1. Currently, over 4000 Canadians have CF, with 60% being adults2. In the past, CF was considered a fatal disease with a life expectancy of less than two years, however, advances in enzymatic and antibiotic therapy have greatly improved the life expectancy of patients afflicted with CF3. Currently, the median age of Canadian CF patients is 50 years2. • 22. Viruses Are Parasites Using Its Host s Cells Viruses are parasites using its host s cells to replicate its own genome (Freeman, 2011). Viruses have either a deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) or ribonucleic acid (RNA) genome that affects its specific named genome. Types of RNA viruses include positive strand, negative strand, double strand and RNA transcriptase. RNA viruses have evolved into effective pathogens that mutate at high rates. This allows them an advantage over their host to effectively evade the immune system through several mechanisms, such as mimicry, avoiding cell lysis, and phagocytosis. Their ability to bypass a cell s normal process of proof reading and error correction is what makes RNA viruses such effective pathogens. Almost all RNA viruses are termed emerging infectious diseases because they are already known, but are increasing rapidly in new areas. There are a few emerging infectious RNA viruses that have reappeared into the population and have the potential to cause an epidemic. Ebola hemorrhagic disease, rabies, influenza and HIV are examples of RNA viruses and a few of these viruses have yet to be thoroughly researched. An example of an RNA virus that mutates and evolves at a high rate is the influenza virus. The influenza virus can mutate in two different ways; antigenic shift which is an abrupt change and by antigenic drift which is a smaller, more gradual change that occurs through point mutations (Uyeki 2014). These changes are what help the virus to evade the host s immune system. Another ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Characters And Nihilism In The Novel s Fathers And Sons In the novel, Fathers and Sons , the character Bazarov is known to be a self confident, and intelligent doctor who s known to leave a few great impressions behind when interacting with his fellow characters large and small, like Fenichka and the lower classman people. However, as nice as he may seem, I do not believe that the story intends Bazarov to be the protagonist, but rather the antagonist. His belief of nihilism, the rejection of all religious and moral principles, is one of the reasons why he is shown as an antagonist. Following that, is how he rudely carries out his own opinions to others, but then later on, turns out to be a hypocritic of his own teachings ; making him very displeasing to the audience to read. So although some may argue that Bazarov is a hero, because of lighter traits, I would have to disagree because of his belief of nihilism, how he carries it out to people and later turning himself into a hypocritic, making the novel play against Bazarov rather than for him. In the beginning of the story, Bazarov was known as a great friend to Arkady, and for a short lived time, he was not wrong. Bazarov was written with attractive figures for an antagonist, physically and non physical. Howard s vision of social reform achieved through community ownership of land never materialised. While Canberra was deeply touched by his idea, yet the direct economic impact is some what minimal. Garden city was subject to limited growth and limited population. Howard (1965) anticipated that the garden city would have a population of 30,000 32,000 in the town and other 2,000 in the agricultural lands. When the city reaches its limits, it would replicate itself in a new community separated by a greenbelt yet connected by railways. The published sketch in figure 1 suggests the garden city to be circular, though Howard (1965) conceded that the shape was suggestive. Canberra was not expected to be a large city. Still, Griffin planned the city for 45,000, this was reached by 1960. By 1965 it was 78,000 and in 2004 the population was around 330,000. The population is anticipated to grow to 500,000 in the next 25 years. (Firth n.d) This does not show any indication of limited population that Howard wants in the garden city. Though the siege itself was ultimately unsuccessful, the cost was paid in the sheer amount of lives lost to starvation and the urban landscape utterly decimated by the Nazi bombardment and looting. • 40. The Birth Narrative Of Jesus Christ As children many of us were told or taught the birth narrative of Jesus Christ. The story was much simpler, Mary the wife of Joseph was told by Gabriel the angel she was in favor of God because she had been faithful to him. Though Mary was a virgin God preformed a miracle and Mary bore a child. He was born in manger and surrounded by shepherds and wise men who brought gifts to their new savior. For most of us that is the story of Jesus s birth and in the New Testament Matthew and Luke tell a similar story, but reading the text the audience can find some subtle and significant differences. In this paper I will discuss the implications of reading both Matthew and Luke. Conferring my research to what is presented within the New Testament I will argue that Matthew and Luke told the story that they had heard from oral tradition and this can prove that the basic facts of both gospels are mainly true but are changed through generations. To first understand my thesis, we must know the story of Matthew and Luke. To begin I will focus on the differences of Matthew and follow with Luke. 1:1 1:17 establishes the genealogy of Jesus1. Matthew follows his ancestry to Abraham, the father of Isaac2. He continues with the son Jacob the father of Judah and so on3. Matthew s story also contains a set of main characters: Joseph, Mary, Wise men, and Herod the Great4, and a very well known location, Bethlehem. In order to facilitate this expansion, we are considering purchasing a competitor. My company is a limousine company, and we have expanded via franchising into a number of different states and metro areas at this point. We are considering purchasing a rival that operates mainly in areas adjacent to ours, with the objective of expanding our presence in those markets, and building our brand. This strategy is part of a plan to grow the business nationwide. Valuation Methods There are several valuation methods that can be used to analyze the competing company. These are adjusted book value, capitalized adjusted earnings, discounted future earnings, the cash flow method and the gross revenue multiplier (Collin.edu, 2013). Another technique is to base the valuation on the stock market valuation of a similar company. In this case, most limousine services are not publicly traded, so the stock market option is not available. Thus, the optimal method will come from the other five options. The adjusted book value of the operation is based on the idea that we are paying for the firm s book value, in particular with the book value of the assets or the book value of the equity. This is a decent option, since we can expect to utilize our own brand, therefore the important part of the purchase is the assets that we are acquiring, everything from cars to drivers to customer contacts. The perception that the indigenous people of the Americas were naturally subordinate, immoral, and resourceful was vital to the Spanish colonial conquest. An Analysis of Personality Theory An Analysis of Personality Theory by for Everyone has a personality, of course, but until fairly recently, there were no personality theories available to help understand what factors contribute to its development. In recent years, though, personality theories such as McCrae and Costa s Big Five and Schwartz s theory of basic values have been advanced for these purposes. To gain some deeper insights into these issues, this paper presents a review of the relevant peer reviewed and scholarly literature to provide a definition of personality and an examination of theoretical approaches to studying personality. The title of this story draws from Mrs. Hopewell. This character sees people in general, including her hardworking employees, as either good county people or trash. Mrs. Hopewell views herself at a much higher social hierarchy status than the others. There are several symbolisms in this tale as Flannery has the reader engaged and perplexed. The smooth talking character Manley Pointer, a supreme con artist and fake Bible Salesman, uses his clever witty words to put Mrs. Hopewell at ease and earn her trust. Mrs. Hopewell is naïve, yet a true optimist of her impression and interpretation of good county people.
