Mezquita De CГіrdoba The Mosque Cathedral of CГіrdoba represents the many
cultural changes the city of CГіrdoba and the areas around it have gone through. It
has stood in the center of the city for over a millennium, and it doesn t look like it
will fall anytime soon. It covers over 24,000 square meters (about 250,000 square
feet), and is 9 meters tall at its lowest and 30 meters tall at its highest. The Cathedral
of CГіrdoba is officially called The Cathedral of St. Mary of the Assumption, but it
was originally built by the Islamic Moors to be a place of worship for muslims.
Historians believe that before the mosque was built, there was a temple to the
Roman God Janus on the same site. That temple was then converted into a church
by the Visigoths before they were conquered by the Moors. It was split in 2 and
used as both a church and a mosque until it was torn down and replaced with the
Mosque of Cordoba. In the year 784 AD, construction for the mosque started under
the emir Abd Ar Rahman 1. It took well over 2 centuries to finish, and even after it
did it went through many changes. A new minaret was added, and some design
changes were made including a more decorative mihrab (signals the direction of
Kaaba, a place that is very holy to muslims), and a courtyard for orange trees was
placed inside it. It reached its current size in the year 987 when construction was

The Ku Klux Klan (KKK) came into being in 1865 and was widespread in the
southern states of the USA. It was founded by former Confederate veterans in
Pulaski, Tennessee. It was a movement, formed after the civil war of America, to
oppress the Republican Party s policies of reconstruction. Few years after its
formation, the movement engaged in war, fear and hatred in the war ravaged south.
The group s activities during this period have had adverse effects on the American
society that still haunt them to date (Southern Poverty Law Centre, 2011).
Racial supremacy was the driving force of the group s initial driving force. Ku Klux
Klan objectives aimed at re establishing white authority throughout America. The
southern states were characterized by lawlessness and violence in an attempt to
intimidate the black community and sympathizers of the Republican s policies of
slavery abolishment. The group has been powerful and very evident twice in the
American history (Southern Poverty Law Centre, 2011).
In this paper, we will concentrate on the movement s activities and defining
moments from 1865 to 1900. The above is the first period of the clan widely known
as the first Klan. The paper looks at how the group contributed to the reestablishment
of white supremacy in the social, political and economic life of the South America.

Rhetorical Devices In Coriolanus
Despite having fallen several centuries ago, the Roman Empire continues to be one
of the most celebrated ancient civilizations. From the rise and fall of Julius Caesar
to the devastating destruction of Pompeii, Roman history continues to fascinate (
Ancient Rome ). Roman legends were so captivating that even in the early 17th
century, playwrights like William Shakespeare explored their iconic use of a
republic. In the Roman form of government, citizens elected tribunes into power
and therefore had a say in the way the empire was run ( The Roman Republic ).
However, despite this perceived empowerment of the common citizen, there was
the constant question of whether or not the tribunes were truly representative of
the people s interests. In the play Coriolanus, the tribunes use rhetorical devices to
express their contempt of Coriolanus as well as to manipulate the Roman citizens
for their selfish desires, despite their supposed role as the voice of the people.
First, Brutus uses alliteration in the scenes between the tribunes to emphasize his
disapproval of Coriolanus. When in private, both tribunes complain about
Coriolanus, with Brutus declaring, Being moved, he will not spare to gird the
gods (1.1.292). By describing Coriolanus as a man so proud he would insult the
gods (thus belittling the most revered figures of Rome), Brutus expresses his low
opinion of him. In the alliteration gird the gods , the hard g sound adds a harsher
tone to Brutus s observation, which highlights his disdain for Coriolanus. The
tribunes also make use of double entendre in their words to demonstrate their
opinion of Coriolanus. In their conversations, Brutus exclaims, The present wars
devour him! He is grown / Too proud to be so valiant (1.1.294 295), which can be
interpreted in two ways. The first is that he is devoured, or brimming with pride
due to the wars he won, making him more proud than he deserves. The use of the
word devour also connotes a sense of power and desire, which again shows Brutus s
attitude to the way Coriolanus accepts the glory he receives for winning wars. The
second interpretation is that Brutus wishes for Coriolanus to be devoured by the

A physician hospital organization (PHO) consists of 15 hospitals with 2,247 staffed
beds and approximately 500 physicians. The PHO operates in a very large section of
south Georgia, including the cities of Valdosta, Tifton, Thomasville, Moultrie, and
Waycross. The PHOs physician members represent approximately 90 percent of all
physicians practicing in the region.
The PHO served as a vehicle through which competing hospitals and physicians could
bargain collectively with health plans to obtain higher fees for themselves. The owner

Biblical stories have been told over many centuries and can be found in many
different forms. Artists have attempted to capture their versions of what these
stories may have looked like. This essay will chronicle the similarities and
differences between two different biblical accounts. The first biblical account is

Armstrong; filmmaker Steven Spielberg and I all have in common. We are all Eagle
Scouts. Since 1911, there have been more than one million Boy Scouts that have
