PRIVATIZATION
WHAT IS GLOBALIZATION?
GLOBALIZATION
Globalization the process by which an
event or concept in a particular country or
the region gets an influencing power and
access all over the world with the
advancement in transportation and
information technology
+VE Impact on Education
 It has created opportunities for studying in foreign universities
 It has created thousands of options for selecting a course
 It has made it possible for a student from a underdeveloped country
to get admitted in advanced institution in a developed country
 It has made it possible for exchanging the resources internationally B
 It has opened a vast world of careers all over the world even before a
person from a minute village of an under developed country
 It has converted educational institutions into real centers for
promoting international understanding
 It has introduced a variety of different curricula on the basis of
comparative studies all over the world like language across
curriculum, flipped classroom etc.
+VE Impact on Education
 It has made it possible to attend a class given by an expert in other
side of the globe by sitting in one’s own home through online classes
 It has created an internationally accepted version of English, the
international language, so that now people from different countries
can learn the standard pronunciation and usage of it
 It has changed the role of the teacher and learner that the teacher
should make the student professionally flexible and highly productive
in accordance with global standard and the learners should try to
clarify the doubts by prompting the teachers provide each and every
information on a global standard
 As a result of Globalization, the quality assurance policies, used by
Corporates and service organizations to management strategies that
are based on assessment of performance of both staff and managers
have now being used in the field of education
 It has introduced the concept of digital library that it is widely
regarded that electronic learning materials are necessary for cope up
with global standard of education
-VE Impact on Education
 Education has been used as a weapon for imposing the culture of western
countries on the people of underdeveloped countries Cultural Imperialism
 Highly talented people from underdeveloped countries seek better meadows in
developed countries so that their service is not provided for the development
of their own nations Brain Drain
 It has created two categories of society i.e. ‘haves’ and ‘have not’s’ in the case
of technology and other facilities Two Categories of Society
 As some underdeveloped countries try to blindly imitate the well advanced
countries, their written strategies remains in the paper without being
implemented Emergence of Impractical Strategies
 As to make the children an effective user of the international language and
modern technology, the educational systems often try to implement new
schemes that have proved by modern psychology as improper and untimely.
Unaffordable Burden for Children
 As each person is attracted by the status provided by white collar jobs, most
people are not aware of the dignity of traditional labors and most are not ready
to do such works Dominance of White Collar Jobs
What is Urbanization
Urbanization
Urbanization is the tendency of
moving people from rural areas to
cities so that to increase the
population of cities and towns
+VE Impact on Education
It offers more access for higher education to a
majority of the youth
It offers better transportation facilities
It ensures availability of better teachers with
accurate knowledge
 It offers access to better and advanced libraries
 It offers latest and advanced technologies for each
student
It provides idea on latest trends in career world
 It offers easier and better placement strategies for a
large number of students
-VE Impact on Education
 It often leads to unhealthy competition which may result in abnormal
tendencies in students
 It gives more importance to professional life so that most people lose
light moments in life.
 The more professionalized education at urban areas always fail to make
them aware of different roles in a life as a member of different units of
society .
 Children from small and isolated apartments keep no intimacy with
peers so that they do not learn how to live together.
 Unnecessary dependence upon technology for 7X24 hours make the
children live in a fantasy world
 Life oriented experiences are not provided to the children at any sense
 It does not offer any sort of community service experience for students
WHAT IS PRIVATIZATION?
Privatization
Privatization is the process of shifting the
sectors, which were traditionally included under
the jurisdiction of public or government sector ,
into the control of the private people or
agencies
+VE Impact on Education
 It reduces the burden of Government that it is almost impossible to give
education to each and everyone in a nation or state on a circumstance of high
population growth
 Privatization has made tremendous increase in the number of educational
institutions so that to ensure educational opportunities for a large number of
children
 No political influence is seen for appointing staff in private sector, which is a
common practice at government institutions and aided institutions.
 Teachers seem to be regularly attending the classes in private sector unlike in
government and aided sector where teachers are often assigned different duties
like election work, census etc.
 In private sectors teachers go on updating their knowledge as well as enhancing
their skills, as their job has got no protection while it is vice versa in government
sector in which a teacher has got a permanent job till the retirement
 Private sector always ensures the facilities for the students while most of the
government schools are in a pathetic condition in this regard, as there are
unnecessary procedures for getting the funds sanctioned.
-VE Impact on Education Quality
 assurance is not guaranteed, as there is no accurate assessment mechanism
or the owners often bribe government officials for getting NOC even without
having the basic facilities that a programmed which they offer needs.
 As most of them demand high and unreasonable fees, it has created ‘have’s’
and ‘have not’s’, as most of the children are not able to enjoy the courses
offered by them because of financial deficiency.
 It has made education an economic good that education has lost its sacred
status and a new concept called knowledge economy has been derived and
spread all over the world
 It has caused for the degeneration of professional ethics that each one who
spends a large amount of money for completing the professional courses like
medicine and engineering keeps one and only aim of regain what he has
spent as immediately as possible
