Global Staffing Process Paper
1. Global Staffing Process Paper
The steps used in the process of establishing guiding principles and rules for staffing purposes
within global organizations are extensive and time consuming. They are necessary, however, in
order to ensure strategies, practices, and tools are implemented properly throughout all areas of a
global organization. Global organizations are not independent businesses located in different
countries, rather they use resources from one part the organization to create competitive advantages
in other areas (Ryan, Wiechmann, & Hemingway, 2003). One of the first steps in the process in
designing global assessments is determining the objectives (Scott & Reynolds, 2010). This will
involve gathering information about what an organization seeks to achieve with ... Show more

For example, global projects require even greater attention to the composition of project teams than
a domestic assessment, but if an organization did not put in enough effort at this stage it may not be
as effective in later stages of the endeavor. As mentioned above, global project teams can take
longer to build (Ryan et al., 2003), and organizations may want to skip this longer build time.
Helping an organization understand that this stage is one of the foundations of the overall process
may help, especially considering that this may reduce possible resistance to the selection system
during implementation (Scott & Reynolds, 2010). Organizations may try to skip determining the
comparability of various jobârelated functions, since this step can be daunting and time consuming
(Scott & Reynolds, 2010). However, a clear understanding of each job is necessary and would be
best demonstrated rather than simply assumed; some KSAOs may overlap, but others may be
unique to a job in a specific locale, and treating them all the same could create foundational issues.
Another step organizations may try to skip could be an analysis of job markets. The complexity
involved with creating and implementing effective systems may seem daunting to an organization
(Ryan et al., 2003). There are many reasons to do this though, such as finding top

2. The Training Section Of Share Point
In order to set up a L48 project there are applications and terms you must know. The methodology
of how I tested a project began with knowing what the AFE group is and how DSM, SAP, and APB
worked. I did this by examining every folder in the general training section of Share point. When
learning what the AFE group is responsible for you must know what is required for an authorization
to take place and the differences between an AFE and RFE. You must also know what feeder system
each of the business units use. Lower 48 uses DSM, Canada uses Capital Manager, which both use
Automated Project Builder and SAP (Systems, Applications, and Products). Alaska uses a
transaction in SAP called IMA11 to create and build a project which is manually ... Show more

When the project is verified, accurate, and complete it is then released in SAP and DSM. When
completing this process of setting up a project it came to my attention that it requires basic training
beforehand in each system. Learning how to navigate through a system and how to conduct a
specific function is key before setting up a project. Knowing the different policies, reâopen
procedures, cancellation practices, and JE procedures for each business units was also essential
before assembling a project. After I learned how each system worked, I took the basic instructions
that were given to me and tried to construct a new project. I found many altercations with the desk
documentation because I had never conducted a project before. I felt as though it was a simplified
version of how to install a project for someone who already knew how to. My methodology of how
to complete the desk documentation is to follow along with the basic instructions and make changes
as I worked throughout the project. At first this was difficult because I usually plan everything out
before performing an assignment and have a concise way of doing it. I have learned that to grasp as
you go throughout a project is needed when the performing different tasks that I did not know of. As
I worked through the project I made recommendations and attached pictures within a word
document in red. When going through the different phases of the project set up I asked members of
the AFE group who were

5. Transformational Cio : Leadership And Innovation...
This book report is based on the book The Transformational CIO: Leadership and Innovation
Strategies for IT Executives in a Rapidly Changing World, written by Hunter Muller. The
transformational CIO is about helping business CIOs adapt to the changes in today's business
environment. Muller focuses on how to adapt to new and existing technologies, how to create
business value, generate more revenue, increase customer relationships and satisfaction in a global
market. Muller uses realâwork examples and stories to drive his points and to make them easier to
understand. Summary Muller starts of the book with his "Four Steps to Success". The four steps
gives a CIO or an Executive a simple easy to execute guide to business transformation. The steps to
the "Four Steps to Success" are, define, build, lead, and change. Define is the first and arguably the
most important step in the four step model. Define is where you create a vision that will drive the
transformation process from the beginning to the end. This step is critical because "you won't be
able to succeed unless a critical mass of people can visualize the end result that you are driving to
achieve"(Muller) . The next step is Build. Build is when you start to fine tune your vision and turn it
into reality. As an executive you have to build a team that reflects your passion, ambition, and
commitment to change. You are also expected to deliver your results on time and on budget. This
stage requires the most change in

Academic Advising
Academic Advisors have been needed for as long as there have been higher education institutions.
America established its first collegiate institutions in the eighteenth century. It was during the
nineteenth century "Faculty within specialized curricula took charge of guiding students to the
classes they needed" (Gillespie, 2003). Today, the field of academic advising encompasses all of
those same needs from the nineteenth century and more. The needs of students have changed and
expanded drastically from when America 's first colleges were established. It is not uncommon for
an advisor to assist the student in not only selecting which classes they should take but also helping
them to determine what career they should have. Essentially that advisor is taking on the
responsibility of facilitating the planning of a student 's next four years and their next forty years as
well.
Appreciative Inquiry Appreciative Inquiry (AI) is "an organizational development tool that focuses
on bringing out the best in people and organizations,
8. The Fitbit's Behavior
The participant began the project by collecting baseline data using ABC data, frequency data, and
thoughts and emotions in her though journal. She also wrote out possible obstacles that would deter
her form reaching the daily step count of 5000 steps. In addition, she also wrote out the possible
short term and longâterm positive and negative effects of change in relation to the target behaviour.
These were all recorded in the beginning of the journal, which the individual referenced throughout
the project on an as needed basis throughout the study, as well as in the initial phase of conducting
the study. It was determined during the assessment of baseline data, that the participant determined
the behavior occurred most frequently in the morning and evening during her commute of walking
to school. She further determined that little to no data was being collected inâbetween these ... Show

The conclusion phase was conducted on the last day of the study, in order to analyze the data and
write the report; no data was taken this day. The main goal of the project was to increase physical
activity with a subâgoal of achieving a daily step count of 5000 steps. Study data was collected
MondayâFriday ending at 11:59pm each individual day. Overall, the study was successful in
achieving the subâgoal of 5000 daily steps a day. The FitBit can be noted as a valuable success in
this project. The participant never dealt with any technological issues regarding the device, and
found it to be accurate in its calculations. This particular study could not have been possible without
the use of such technology to accurately collect the muchâneeded data. The participant was
subsequently successful in achieving the step count, and further reduced her dependence on public
transit, and as such increased walking in her

9. The Breaking Point
Everyone has a breaking point. I was close to mine. The walls felt like they were closing in around
me. I was forced to walk in a single file line like a first grader. The only light was from the small
openings in the rigid cement walls. My legs were screeching in pain. I have climbed hundreds of
steps and it was unknown how many more. None of us had been here before. All I could tell was
that we were going up fast and the ground was becoming farther away. The fear of plummeting to
your death was a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. I remind myself not to look down but it was
inevitable. I had to look. I would have not continued if it was not for the fact that you had to go up
in order to go down. I knew that even though it was not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I was left in my pajamas standing at the door with just the knowledge that breakfast was in an hour.
I had no idea what we were going to do today. This left my mind to wander all of the things we
could do, compiling a list in my head. After breakfast, we left the hotel and used our map to try and
navigate where the subway was. It turns out the subway was only two blocks away, but thanks to my
uncle it took us close to a half hour to get there. If we didn't look like tourists, I don't know what
does. I mean it was clear we didn't speak Spanish, but when you have adults holding up maps and
screaming directions at each other it was pretty clear we were tourists, lost tourists. We thought
getting to the subway was hard, but the real challenge was figuring out which line to take.
Meanwhile, I had no idea where we were going. It was not like I could help much because I knew a
very small amount of Spanish. Fifteen minutes of arguing later, we finally figured out that we have
to take the red line and get off at the sixth stop. The train ride was quiet. The only sound was the
hum of the train's engine. When we got to our stop we got off quickly and climbed up steps that
placed us back into reality. We were once again united with the busy streets of Barcelona.

Share this article on Pinterest Expert Author Petris Lapis " Plan for the future, because that 's where
you 're going to spend the rest of your life." â Mark Twain Brin and Cora were two very brave little
elves who lived in a land before time. They had heard about a land far beyond the waters where
there were magical animals, crystal flowers and all forms of treasures to sparkle your eyes and
warm your heart. They had an urge, a driving burning tickling urge that niggled inside them to find
and see this wondrous land across the seas for themselves. Noâone in their land had ever ventured
further than the outer reefs surrounding much of the coastline and their friends and family
constantly cautioned them against doing so. There were no boats in their land designed for long
distance water travel, so Brin and Cora set about designing, planning and building one for
themselves. As noâone had ever walked the path they were walking before, there was noâone to
give them counsel. And as noâone wished to encourage their venture for fear of the dangers they
would come across, there was noâone prepared to

DISNEY: LOSING MAGIC IN THE MIDDLE KINGDOM Hong Kong Disneyland will provide
guests with an immersive experience to reâignite "the magic that is the Disney storytelling
tradition". The park will act as a springboard for our other businesses throughout China and the
region. â Andy Bird, president of Walt Disney International, August 20051 Three years after its
opening in September 2005, Hong Kong Disneyland had yet to gather sufficient momentum to
catapult its attendance rate to a satisfactory level. Despite high expectations of it as a cashâcow
tourist attraction, things had turned rocky, with a series of negative media coverage both before and
after the launch. The park suffered a major blow after a ticketing hiccup during ... Show more

Disneyland is dedicated to the ideals, the dreams and the hard facts that have created America...with
the hope that it will be a source of joy and inspiration to all the world. â Walt Disney, founder of
Disneyland, 19552 Disneyland was more than entertainment. It was about creating a fantasy world
as an escapeâa holiday away from the strain of the bustling world. The business model of
Disneyland thrived upon the concept of a Disney resort with attractions, restaurants, merchandise
shops and hotels. A visit to Disneyland was touted as a vacation trip spanning several days.
Excluding hotels, income from admission fees constituted around 49% of the park's income, while
the remaining 51% came from merchandise sales and restaurants.3 Most of Disneyland's attractions
had a rigid limit on the number of visitors that could be accommodated at a particular time. To enjoy
popular rides, a waiting time of one to two hours was normal. In general, visitors were fairly patient
and accepted waiting as part of the experience. In the past few decades, American parents that had
grown up with Disney characters kept returning to the park with their children, relishing their
childhood memories. In this way, the Disney culture was passed on from one generation to the next.

1983 in Tokyo. Disney took a cautious approach by granting an operation

Action and Implementation Plan
The decision that the group would take is to implement a webâbased ordering system that would
allow customers to configure their orders in accordance with the specification that they want.
Through this the data entry error will decrease. The necessary steps for planning the implementation
of a webâbased ordering system are stated bellow.
The first step in implementing this course of action is to determine the objectives of the company.
As for our PSI it aims to reduce its error in order entry stage of the business process. The company
should also take into account the customers that will be using the website so that we can better
design it in accordance with their characteristics and the data ... Show more content on

The second step is preparing the company for change which is not an easy thing to do. People in the
organization especially those who might lose their job or have a hard time coping with new systems
being installed would naturally oppose such a change. That is why a considerable time should be
spent to ensure that the people of the organization is ready for any alteration in their normal work
environment. The employees of PSI which are currently in the order entry department won't be fired
but their responsibility will no longer include that of encoding the orders of the company.
The third step is to inform the customers with the webâbased ordering system because they are also
one of the stakeholders for the change that we are going to implement. Informing them of the
modifications will hopefully get them onâboard with our decision which will make the
implementation of the change easier on the companies part.
Lastly, we should track our results and modify operations for necessary improvement. We will track
the results of the project by comparing the actual from the metrics develop in the planning phase of
the study. Through this, we will know where we are and where we are suppose to be. If we are far
from our goals we need to check what we are doing wrong and fineâtune the operations. This cycle
of improvements never ends as business of today always seeks for improvement.
