How Did Levis Impact The World
Levi Strauss woke up one day, not knowing that he would impact the world forever. You maybe be
asking, What in the world did Strauss do? He was the one who invented Genes! (Or What we call
nowadays Jeans.) Here is some back information about Levi Strauss life. He was born February 26,
1829, in the city of Buttenheim, Germany. He has six siblings and he was the youngest. Growing up in
Germany for him was hard because he was Jewish. When Levi was sixteen, his father passed away
from a disease. This was the time where he moved to America. After a few years, the Gold Rush came
into play. He decided that it would be good opportunity to make a business. So he moved to California
to find some inspiration. In the 1850 s he moved from New York to California where he opened a shop
selling supplies to miners. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was making covers for the 49ers but then he decided to make pants instead. He didn t think that
this would make an impact. It was just one of the normal things that people sold in the shop. He
named the jeans Miners Pant s and that s where everything started. But people saw it as something
different. Miners loved the pants so much it became super popular. In a matter of time, Strauss was
working so hard for everyone to get at least one pair. Soon he edited his pants once again and started
to use blue denim (Which are pronounced Genes in French but in English it is Jeans ) for his pants.
Then soon in 1872, Jacob Davis, a Nevada Tailor, sent a letter. He requested something that he couldn
t do. Adding rivets or what we know, pockets. Jacob didn t have the money to complete the patent
process so he decided to tell Strauss. And so, the jeans we know and love were

Section 98 makes the right of private defence available even against persons who, by reason of
infancy, insanity, intoxication or misconception, are legally incompetent to commit an offence. And
Section 106 allows a person to take the risk of harming innocent person in order to, in exercise of the
right of private defence of body, save himself from mortal injury. Section96, thus, declares, in general
terms, that nothing is an offence which is done in the exercise of private defence. The subsequent ss
97 98 and 100 106 explain the contours of the right and define the broad boundaries within which it
can be exercised. All the rights enumerated in these sections are subject to restriction or limitations
that are stated in sec. 99. Nature of The Right It is the first duty of man to help himself. The right of
self defence must be fostered in the citizens of every free country. The right is recognized in every
system of law and its extent varies in the inverse ratio to the capacity of the state to protect life and
property of the subject (citizens). It is the primary duty of the state to protect the life and property of
individuals, but no state, no matter how large its resources, can afford to depute a policeman to dog
the steps of every rouge in the country. Consequently this

The Psychology Of Sexual Orientations
The Psychology of Sexual Orientations Throughout the history of humans, people have been having
sex. It s obviously necessary for the continuation of humans as a species. But it definitely hasn t been
for just reproductive purposes. People have been engaging in same gender sex for probably as long as
humans have been around. However, the terms we think of today when we think of different sexual
orientations didn t get coined until the 19th and 20th centuries. And with these terms came huge
stigma that still exists today. There are many different sexual orientations that people identify as
(including heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality, as well as many others); the orientations that
do not coincide with what people viewed as normal were originally given classification as mental
disorders.
The most common sexual orientation, regardless of culture, is heterosexuality. This is defined as a
sexual orientation in which an individual is generally sexually attracted to members of the opposite
sex. A Centers for Disease Control national survey reported that the percentage of Americans who
identify themselves as heterosexual was 90 percent for men and women (King, 2011, p. 363). This
orientation is also considered by many people, cultures and religion throughout history and into the
present as being the normal and natural orientation, with the idea that any deviation from
heterosexuality is unnatural, a choice, and a thing that needs to be corrected. This belief,

My Experience Of Teens
It is truly astonishing how much we, as teens in the 21st century, take for granted. We go through our
day, as if everything we do is a given right, rather than a privilege that we have. We don t ever stop to
think about how so much, could be taken away from us in an instant. It was Monday, June 5th, 2017. I
had just come back from an invitational hockey camp in Canada and I was up bright and early that
morning so that I could go to Westridge and take my last two finals of the year. By the time I had
gotten in the car, it was 7:20 in the morning, and I felt ready to take my finals. While in the car, my
mom was listening to KBS radio station. I wasn t completely listening, but from what I could hear, the
station was talking about a single engine plane crash in the Santa Rosa Valley that happened the other
day. They were just mentioning how the two victims in the plane crash were identified just as I was
getting out of the car. From there, I tried to clear my mind of everything and just reviewed the things
that I knew. I walked onto campus with my face inside a binder and although I knew the material, I
attempted to cram even more useless information into my brain. I stopped in front of my math
classroom when I felt my phone ringing inside of my crossbody bag, against my hip. I grabbed my
phone out of my bag to see that I already had 4 missed calls from one of my good friends, Miles
Brodey. Assuming that Miles would be calling me with a purpose, I adjourned my terse review

Theme Of Timshel By John Steinbeck
It is difficult to decipher the good and the evil that lives within people. John Steinbeck provokes both
virtues in the East of Eden, taking place in Salinas Valley, California in the 1900 s. The theme that is
subtly circling all over the book is the meaning of the word timshel which revolves around the
characters Cathy, Adam, and Caleb.
To begin with, a central theme in the story is the Hebrew word timshel. There are several
philosophical analyses involving this word throughout the book. Steinbeck brought it up through the
character Lee as he explained that the American Standard translation orders men to triumph over
sin...The King James translation makes a promise in thou shalt, meaning that men will surely triumph
over sin. But the Hebrew word, the word timshel Thou mayest that gives a choice (303). This quote
means that man can freely choose to be kind or evil which continuously connects both Adam Trask
and Caleb Trask throughout the book.
An example in the book is when Adam was dealing with his depression. Unfortunately, Adam had not
embraced the responsibility and role of fatherhood, resulting in disregarding his sons entirely, much
like his own father had. That vile feeling in Adam left him with the mindset that he would never better.
When he finally brought his mind back on track and started caring more about his son s interests, it
showed in the character s development as he let go of his father s ways and became his own man.

Anne Moody s Coming Of Age In Mississippi
The Coming of Age in Mississippi narrates the life of Anne Moody; a young African American
woman who advocates to change the oppression African Americans were receiving in her community,
other states and during the civil rights movement. The importance of the civil rights movement
sparked a change in her family, social life, her friends and most importantly her identity. Her early
childhood, family issues, living in poverty and struggle as a young girl had a big effect on her identity.
Curious to know why things were happening the way they were, Anne Moody sought to become a
civil rights activist. Her identity becomes significant during that time because all the real, horrific
experiences she faced as a young girl will make her into a brave,

Canadian Language Analysis
Canada is a growing and successful first world nation, but Canada is by no means a nation without
faults. There are divides that exist in Canada; historically, culturally, and politically. These divides
exist as a part of a nation that is in continual development and growth a nation of diversity and
democracy. It is the diversity between English speaking Canadians and French speaking Canadians
that will be focused upon in the following pages of this paper. Anglophone and Francophone
Canadians are at odds. Historically, the tensions between these Canadians pre dates the founding of
this country. Culturally; language, beliefs, traditions and values differ between these people
tremendously. Politically, there are differing views of the unified ... Show more content on

The Great Gatsby thesis statement
Abstract The Great Gatsby is written by the American author F. Scott Fitzgerald. The story takes place
in the roaring twenties . The characters in the novel have dreams and goals and not one dream ends
well. That is why my thesis statement is: The Great Gatsby is really about unattainable dreams. The
dreams I am discussing is Gatsby´s American dream, Daisy s dream and Nick s dream. The dreams are
based on the love story between Daisy and Gatsby. The final piece in Gatsby s American dream would
be if he got Daisy to wed him. Daisy dreams of Gatsby but chooses between him and her current
husband Tom. Nick wants Gatsby s life to be a happy life and he cares a lot about him. His dream is
for the story to end well. When Daisy does not choose ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He wishes that Gatsby s life should contain a happy ever after. There are a lot of dreams in the book
but I want to distinguish these three main dreams and how none of them gets fulfilled. Gatsby s
American dream The first dream that does not get fulfilled is the one of Gatsby. He starts off as an
underprivileged boy and struggles his way to the top. We make his acquaintance when he is on the top
of his life. He is enjoying his big house and his vast wealth. The one thing he cannot have is his lovely
Daisy. Gatsby s story reflects the classical American dream: Anyone can make anything of
himself/herself with just elbow grease, spirit and a whole lot of confidence. Jay loves Daisy and,
sadly, she is the one thing which he cannot procure to his perfect life . His wealth is shown clearly, for
instance when he throws huge parties just to have the chance of meeting or seeing Daisy. This
behavior is not feasible if you do not have that kind of money which leads us to the conclusion that he
is wealthy. The symbol that portrays the American dream is the green light. The light symbolizes
wealth but also Daisy, the latter because there is a green light at the end of Daisy´s dock. He reaches
out for it just like he reaches out for his dream. His material world reflects Daisy. Daisy is sometimes
a symbol of the American dream. Her voice is full of money... That was it. I d never understood
before. It was full of money that was the inexhaustible

A Prostitute A Servant And A Latina In Humanities Chapter...
Living as a latina in the United States of America is tough. Racial stereotypes follow minorities
everywhere they go, even in the classroom. The average American has a typical image of what a
professor should look like. What should they look like? These perceived images should not exist
because professors could come from all around the world. In A Prostitute, A servant, and a Customer
Service Representative: A Latina In Academia , professor in the department of Critical Culture,
Gender, and Race studies, Carmen R. Lugo Lugo, uses emotional appeals and language to inform and
create awareness of social and racial stereotypes, as well as how profiting is a priority amongst
universities. Throughout the essay, Lugo Lugo wants one to become informed on prevalent issues in
the average college classroom by allowing the reader to appeal to her through emotions. She uses
personal stories and thoughts on college profiting accordingly to portray the issue amongst her
classroom. As she mentions in her essay, That is why my position within both U.S. society and
academia is an important component of this discussion, a position that is described something like
this: I am a women. A woman who is of color. A woman of color who is a Puerto Rican (which means
I am viewed as a latina). And those markers mean something at the beginning of the twenty first
century in and outside the U.S. academy. As identities, they inform the way I position myself in
relation to other gendered and racial

Analysis Of An Open Letter To Myself
The song An Open Letter to Myself, off of the album The Here and Now, by Architects is an
exemplary song that undergoes a complementary set of major changes throughout the piece. This song
was released in 2011 and it would be classified as somewhere within the hard rock to metal genre.
While it is common to note the relationship between the writer, performer, and the listener, in this
piece it is particularly important to do so. Without one of these components present, this song would
likely not carry the same emotional weight as it does. Moreover, this song carries its meaning through
its differentiation from itself. Within the piece, the lyrics shift from originally blaming others to
blaming the writer and the intensity of the audio changes from soft to grand to compliment this
change. One of the major changes this song makes from the beginning to the end can be noted in the
lyrics. The writer, Sam Carter, expresses a sense of multifaceted growth through the piece. In the first
verse, the writer brushes off the lack of connection to those around him as something that was
common to others around him by utilizing either third person, or first person plural, articles to
describe what he did not do. Thus, he believed that he should not be judged for this error. However, in
the second verse, Carter turns to explicitly blaming himself for the lack of contact and appreciation of
an individual he refers to throughout the song as my so called friend . This

Flashbacks In Alien
Director M. Night Shyamalan has produced his share of decent stories, such as Wayward Pines,
however he s also had his major flops. With Split, the only thing I can say with certainty is never have
I walked into a movie theatre with low expectations and received even less.
As I consider horror to be one of my favorite movie genres, I didn t go and see Split with my
expectations super high. Occasionally, I ll come across something authentically creepy, Like Stephen
King s Pet Sematary or Ridley Scott s Alien, however many horror flicks can fall on their faces before
they even start running.
Split tells the tale of three young girls who are kidnapped and held hostage by Kevin Crumb (James
McAvoy), a man with 23 different personalities. As they try to escape, ... Show more content on

Throughout the movie, there were multiple flashbacks to Casey s (Anya Taylor Joy) past. In these
memories, there were allusions to childhood abuse, death, and overall confusion. The flashbacks were
intended to add more to Casey s character and her determination to live, but they were so poorly
presented that it left more holes in her character than development.
Luckily, even movies that make me cry from how awful they are have their silver linings. McAvoy
was a shining light in the dark pit that this movie fell in. His ability to portray many different
characters within one movie is admirable and entertaining, and not only was he going off camera as
one person and on as another, he was capable of shifting personalities on screen. He captured the
ability to physically show the mental morphing between personalities while remaining an absolutely
phenomenal actor.
Although McAvoy provided some sort of appeal in the movie, I would prefer to have those two hours
of my life back. Split lacked any sort of excitement and anticipation; in fact, it was absolutely boring.
If you re looking for something to watch at midnight for a good scare, Split is highly

Hayek s Impact On Society
Today the line between breaking news and paid advertisements has become quite blurry. Add to that
the propensity for celebrities, and regular citizens, to comment on both through social media
platforms, and reaching thousands, if not millions of people, it is no wonder we are losing our sense of
individuality. The internet makes not only news stories easily accessible, but also allows people to
follow and look into other people s lives. Advances within technology and information have enabled
ordinary individuals to organized, spread their word and gain attention on an international scale
(Cooper 6). The rise of social media has played a large role in propelling social consciousness, with
celebrities posting their own impassioned PSA s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Despite the distance Hayek traveled, media outlets like, ABC News: Nightline followed her, filming
an episode during her trip. Hayek couldn t possibly argue she was simply a humanitarian because most
people who travel to do volunteer work, are not closely followed by a camera trying to film a media
worthy episode. The goal for most is to volunteer and hopefully leave knowing they have made a
difference, as opposed to going to film for a newscast to entertain millions and to gain positive PR.
Hayek preoccupied the media for a different reason than she intended, Hayek s advocacy for tetanus
prevention among expectant mothers is not what preoccupied commentators or celebrity observers
who saw this episode of Nightline. Rather, the fact that Hayek breastfed a Sierra Leonean baby was
(Benton 188). Hayek received varying messages, including high praise and criticism. People began
questioning if it was for the sake of television or if it was a true act of heroism. There are many
elements of humanitarianism and it is not as simple as just having compassion. Unfortunately,
hierarchies of privilege often play a part in humanitarianism even if they shouldn t. Hayek might have
entered Sierra Leone with good intentions, but with her celebrity status and a camera crew in tow, her
visit brought forth unintended consequences and created more harm than good. She might have
intended to make a difference, but her trip had many critics wondering if her actions were simply for
the sake of good

Themes In The Lottery
What does one picture when the word lottery is said? A random selection and a person wins the big
prize? Wrong, in the short story The Lottery all townspeople gather for a special kind of lottery. Not
just any lottery though, one that is quite unique like no other. The townspeople and their families pick
up white slips of folded white paper out of a black wooden box. Later to then open them and to find
only one has a dark charcoal circle who later gets stoned to death annually. In this short story, it
uncovers so many different themes for us to analyze. For example, Do not follow people blindly
which means if one friend jumps off a bridge would the second person jump too just because the first
person did it? Following someone or something

Causes Of Immigration In America
The United States experienced major waves of immigration during the colonial era, the first part of the
19th century and from the 1880s to 1920. Many immigrants came to America seeking greater
economic opportunity, while some, such as the Pilgrims in the early 1600s, arrived in search of
religious freedom.
From the 17th to 19th centuries, hundreds of thousands of African slaves came to America against
their will. The first significant federal legislation restricting immigration was the 1882 Chinese
Exclusion Act.
Individual states regulated immigration prior to the 1892 opening of Ellis Island, the country s first
federal immigration station. New laws in 1965 ended the quota system that favored European
immigrants, and today, the majority of the country s immigrants hail from Asia and Latin America.
From its earliest days, America has been a nation of immigrants, starting with its original inhabitants
who crossed the land bridge connecting Asia and North America tens of thousands of years ago. By
the
1500s, the first Europeans, led by the Spanish and French, had begun establishing settlements in what
would become the United States. In 1607, the English founded their first permanent settlement in
present day America at Jamestown in the Virginia Colony. Some of America s first settlers came in
search of freedom to practice their faith. In 1620, a group of roughly 100 people later known as the
Pilgrims fled religious persecution in Europe and arrived at present day Plymouth,

Steven Spielberg s Film Jaws
Steven Spielberg s film JAWS (1975), (Spielberg/Universal), uses the motif of an essentially unseen
shark, ominously present through unpredictable displays of terrifying violence, to sculpt a message
about good, evil, power, arrogance, and vanity within the hegemony of small town middle class
America. Spielberg markets this High Concept (Cook 40), film and its nationalist ideals on a story that
is principally based on one image, the shark, and the fallibility of the human decision making process.
In a relatively short scene that lasts no longer than a minute and a half, eleven or so minutes into the
film, the viewer is presented with the hierarchy of the town s political decision making process, its
hubris and the lack of concern for the physical safety of the common citizenry over which they
govern. The scene takes place on a small ferry boat in the town s harbor. The previous evening there
was an unwitnessed shark attack in the harbor water which killed a young woman. The discussion on
the ferry, held by the town s mayor, selectmen, medical examiner, and police chief, is primarily
between police chief Brody and Mayor Vaughn. Brody tells Vaughn that he is going to shut the beach
down, no swimming will be allowed because it is unsafe. The mayor tell him that he, the police chief,
does not have the authority to do so and that only he, the mayor, does and he has no intention to give
him authority to do do. Amity is a summer town and we need summer dollars. If people can t

What Does Cough Syrup Mean
The theme of the song Cough Syrup by Young the Giant, is about being careful with the decisions you
make because it could affect your life on the long run. Throughout the song, the phrase cough syrup is
a metaphor that resemble the awful moments of the speaker s life. In which the speaker is forced to
take, in order to find his fortune that [he] should had found that would end his miserable life. The
reason the cough syrup resemble the bitter moments of his life, is because the taste of cough syrup is
usually unpleasant to the tastebuds. An awful moment that you just wish to be over with after the first

Poison Ivy Monologue
Poison Ivy
May 15, 2012 at 10:17pm
Poison Ivy by Sydney J. Tanner When I was 19, I was attending Utah State University, in Logan Utah.
I lived in a beautiful canyon in the mountains and went hiking and camping a lot. One camping trip,
being a bit naive and inexperienced I wiped with the nearest green leaf I could find. What followed
was an excruciating lesson never to be forgotten. Not being from Utah, I had never seen or been
around poison ivy before. Later that fall, I was on a committee decorating for an autumn formal dance.
I gathered interesting and colorful vines and weeds to make thirteen large wreaths for the walls. After I
hung the last wreath for the dance that evening, I realized something dreadful. Gee, poison ivy
changes color in the fall. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Berries white, run in fright. The old adage still stands. As a Wisconsin Master Gardener, I share my
embarrassing story with you for a reason. Some people still don t know what poison ivy looks like.
When I tell this story, I get to hear other people s awkward tales of adventure in the ivy. They range
from honeymoon disasters, to children playing tag in it, to beloved pets rolling in it and then jumping
into bed with their masters that evening. Poison Ivy (Taxicodendron radicans, also called Rhus
radicans) is a member of the Anacardiaceae family (Sumac/Cashew) and is a native woody plant in
Wisconsin. It is considered a noxious weed. It spreads both vegetatively and sexually. The seeds are
spread by animal feces. The plant also sends out underground rhizomes, from which dense patches of
green spring up. It flowers in late spring to early summer. The yellow white flowers are clusters of
five sepals and five petals tiny florets on a stalk, or petiole. The greenish white to all white, lined fruit
forms midsummer to mid autumn and is technically called a drupe. Most people call it a berry. They
grow to be about 6 mm wide and stand upright on the stem, instead of

Trope In Enchanted
Adults historically love to glorify the idealism and emotionality of childhood through storytelling.
From Mark Twain s perennial wild boy Huckleberry Finn, who befriends a runaway slave despite the
prejudices of adult society, to Hiccup of the 2010 film How to Train Your Dragon, the only one of his
village who recognizes that dragons are not evil but actually kind animals, American media has no
shortage of children who are somehow able to see more than their adult counterparts. Patricia Read
Russell s 1983 essay Parallel Romantic Fantasies: Barrie s Peter Pan and Spielberg s E.T.: The
Extraterrestrial traces the echos of the 1904 play Peter Pan in Spielberg s then recent film, E.T. and
one of the parallels she highlights is this very concept. Russell borrows from Wordsworth in her essay
to concisely describe the trope of a child s ability to see more clearly than adults, referring to it as the
visionary gleam . Russell s essay underlines the presence of this trope in E. T. s protagonist, a ten year
old boy named Elliot, and in his bond with the title character, a friendly lost alien. Over twenty five
years later, the same trope is explored in Disney s parody film Enchanted but through the lense of a
young girl. The concept of the visionary gleam of childhood perpetuated by Spielberg s film and
Enchanted reflects an inherent desire of adults to return to a simpler, more emotionally driven period
of their lives which may or may not have actually existed, and this

allocating content to an additional user is minimal. Profit margins improve as subscriber counts

virtuous cycle by Hastings, it gives Netflix an edge over smaller scale competitors such as Hulu

Women From the Old Testament
The Old Testament shows many examples of the roles of women throughout the course of time.
Throughout the Old Testament women rights and roles have changed dramatically from the time of
Eve when she appeared to of had her rights stolen, to the time Ruth used her rights to marry a kin after
being a widow, and the time of Bathsheba when she was instructed to do so instead of being asked.
Their rights throughout the Old Testament have not been set at a constant in fact their rights through
the Old Testament vary depending on what your status was. Comparing the roles of Eve, Ruth, and
Bathsheba is considerably difficult because they are extremely different ... Show more content on

During the story Eve was persuaded by a serpent to eat the fruit for the tree in which God told them
not to eat from. Eve then persuaded Adam to do the same deed. When they told God their sins, God

leave the garden, but the punishments He gave Eve put her on a lower pedestal than her husband. By

God said Eve was to be a helper which by definition means sustainer, supervisor, or babysitter; not a
slave for men (Createspace, 2014).
David spotted Bathsheba while on his roof and ordered his men to go and find her and bring her to
him. Bathsheba was married at the time to one of David s friends, Uriah. David assigned Uriah to the
front line of combat, which was where the men were most likely to die during war. Uriah is
pronounced dead, Bathsheba mourned over the death. After Bathsheba s time for mourning David
invited her over and asked to marry her. They married and soon after she declared that she was
pregnant with his child. She named their son Solomon (Createspace, 2014). During this story,

Airlift Deployment Analysis
A military deployment system called ADANS, which stands for Airlift Deployment Analysis System,
was introduced in 1990. It refers to a collection of logistic and spatial technologies that helped
efficiently transport troops and equipment to whatever spot. ADANS is used today to schedule
peacetime, exercise, and contingency missions, plus relief and humanitarian operations. 1990 1991
saw use of GIS technologies in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. It was the largest airlift of
personnel and equipment from zone to zone ever consummated.

military uses GIS and GPS technologies to assess situations and make the best tactical decision based
on the accurate spatial data involved. Understanding terrain is crucial to deployment of troops.
Geospatial analysists make sure this gets done. The military uses GIS for intelligence, production
mapping, and military operations. In a land situation, an assembly position can be created using GIS

suspicious guys are seen in the area, the spot report will have the set of reported information in that

Marble, or calcium carbonate, is a fairly insoluble compound with the chemical formula CaCO3. This
compound has a carbonate ion, which has a charge of 2 and a calcium ion, which has a charge of +2.
Calcium carbonate has a few forms including chalk and limestone. The main use of these two
materials is in the making of concrete, which is used for many things including buildings. The rate of
the reaction is the speed that the reaction takes place; therefore, by measuring the rate, the amount of
time the reaction takes will be measured. Hydrochloric acid is a stronger acid that is found in digestive
juices in the human stomach and is also used for cleaning metals before they are coated. When you
mix a strong acid like HCl with any carbonate you will have a chemical reaction in which CO2 gas is
released. This means that it will fizz indicating a chemical reaction. These two elements can react with
hydrochloric acid to yield carbon dioxide, calcium chloride and water. The chemical reaction equation
for hydrochloric acid and calcium carbonate is:
2HCl + CaCO3 → CaCl2 + H2O + CO2

My Journey To Achieve The American Dream
At the age of three, I moved to El Salvador with my mom and siblings. Many people remember going
to Disney or traveling with their parents as children but I remember earthquakes, gunshots, and
poverty. My family and I lived in constant fear for our safety. There were also some cheerful
memories like being a baton twirler in the Independence Day parades. I will never forget going to the
beach on holidays and spending lots of summers picking coffee beans in my grandfather s field. At the
age of 8, we moved back to the United States in hope for a better life and in search to achieve the
American dream. I am now 20 years old and a college student. I would have never imagined myself

work outside of school. I had the privilege of giving a speech at the 2016 Race4Respect Down
syndrome awareness race. I was proud of myself for this particular accomplishment because I was
given the opportunity to share how my experience with the Special Olympics Joy Cheerleading team
not only inspired my future career path but also helped me view the world in a whole new perspective.
I have always wanted to advocate for others in hope that one day I would make a change and this
opportunity allowed me to make a change in my life and in the lives of others. My passion since that
day has been to become a teacher that supports and impacts students beyond the classroom whether
they have a disability or not. As for my future plans, I hope to attend the University of Maryland in the
fall and continue my studies in Early Childhood Education and Special Education. In the next two
years, I plan to earn my bachelor s degree in teaching and hopefully become a kindergarten teacher.

Earthquake In Chile Essay
Chile suffers from natural disasters, such as earthquakes, tsunamis, and volcanic activity. This is
because Chile is in the Ring of Fire which is where many pieces of the earth, called tectonic plates,
rub together causing earthquakes, volcanic activity, and tsunamis, which are a product of earthquakes.
Chile has had to change and adapt to these deadly events for many years. They have become more
advanced in ways to endure these natural disasters. Chile has adapted to the presence of natural
disasters by being prepared in a natural disaster, investing in earthquake proof buildings, and by
evacuation procedures. Being prepared has been a crucial factor for the Chileans to adapt to the
natural disasters. In 2010 Chile suffered an earthquake with a magnitude of 8.8 out of ten on the ...

earthquake was 8.8 and there were 6,000 buildings in the affected area yet only six were seriously
damaged, and of those, only four had to be demolished (Soichet, Romo). An 8.8 is outstanding and the
fact that only a small amount of buildings were damaged is jaw dropping. Insurance is also a very
crucial in earthquakes. People invest in earthquake insurance and this helps because even if homes are
destroyed, nobody will be displaced within their own country. In Chile, an estimated 10 percent of
residential properties and 60 percent of commercial properties are insured against earthquake damage
(). Another way chile has adapted with their buildings is the new building codes. The building codes
are very strict and any and every commercial building has to be able to manage an earthquake with a
magnitude of 9.0. The building can crack, tilt and even be declared unfit for future use but it must not

Aviation Scholarship Essay
I have been involved with aviation my entire life. Surprisingly enough, it all began with paper
airplanes. As a young child I spent many of my days folding a variety of different paper airplane
designs, exploring how each different fold would change the way it flew. As a result, this piqued my
interest to explore the fundamentals of aviation. I could spend hours reading about aircraft design and
learning about the history of flight. A few years later, at the age of nine, I saved up for my first radio
controlled airplane. This was my introductory to radio controlled flight and taught me countless
valuable life lessons. After several years of flying model airplanes, I decided to build my first racing
drone. It was equipped with a first person view (FPV) video system. This allowed me to fly it from the
drone s perspective, providing a bird s eye view of the landscape below. FPV gave me an entire new

Reaction Rate Lab
Introduction The reaction rates provide important information concerning the factors that control the
speed of a chemical reaction or the steps that occur in complex mechanisms of a chemical reaction in
a study called chemical kinetics. The most common factors that affect the reaction rate are
concentration, temperature and actions of catalyst. The rate of reaction is ( Rate=k[A]n[B]m) which is
written in rate law expression. Reaction rates may be determined by following the appearance of
disappearance of chemical substance or the change in a characteristic property. In the experiment
hydrogen peroxide will undergo decomposition and the product oxygen gas collected. Initial rate at
which the O2 is produced will be monitored to determine the rate 2H2O22H2O(l)+O2(g). Since the
reaction rates depend on reactant concentrations, the rate at which O2is produced on lt during the
initial few minutes of the reaction, the reaction concentrations should not decrease significantly. This
method of investigation is called the initial rate method. Experimental ... Show more content on

Spider M Turn Off The Dark
After a $75 million dollar investment, Spider Man: Turn Off The Dark premiered in the summer of
2011 at Foxwoods Theater. By the time the curtains opened to reveal the highly controversial show,
Spider Man had become the most expensive theatrical production ever produced in the world. The
show also opened to many negative reviews and infamous technical difficulties which included an
actor falling over 20 feet into the orchestra pit. The budget, which was originally planned at $51
million dollars, quickly snowballed out of hand after numerous delays and high operating costs.
However, this did not stop theatergoers from witnessing the controversial spectacle. Its Box office
numbers were strong, but it would take much more than solid ticket sales to turn over profit. By the
time Spider Man closed its doors, the production had lost over $60 million dollars, making it one of
the most iconic flops in Broadway history (Weiss). More than any recent production, Spider Man:
Turn Off The Dark highlights the financial risk that goes into producing a Broadway musical. Both
non profit theater and commercial theater are driven by financial factors. The risk and financial
dependency of American theater in the new century has influenced content that attempts to maximize
this financial return. Through its own economic ecosystem, Broadway theater production creates a
system that intertwines and supports both commercially viable spectacles and content driven non
profit theater. This essay will

Drought In The Mississippi River Delta Wetlands
Wetlands are extremely valuable to society. Wetlands can decrease flooding, remove pollutants from
water, recharge groundwater, protect shorelines, provide habitat for wildlife, and serve important
recreational and cultural functions. The Mississippi River Delta ecosystems alone provide at least $12
47 billion in benefits to people every year. If wetlands are lost, the cost of replacing them can be
extremely expensive, if at all possible. Lost wetlands can result in a city having to invest more money
in drinking water treatment or higher costs to citizens for flood insurance. Wetlands act as natural

Theme Of The Dictators By Pablo Neruda
In Pablo Neruda s poetry it was evident that symbolism was utilized to strengthen his main theme
throughout his poems, some being The Dictators , Hunger in the South , The Beggars , and To the foot
from its child , and within these poems the main theme would be shown to be the unfair distribution of
power and wealth in the Chilean society. In the poem The Dictators Neruda focuses on the leaders of
the country and comparing their work to the work of those who lived in poverty. Neruda sets a base
for these four poems where they re all centered on the same idea, such as the one in The Dictators ,
comparing those who were part of the upper class, and how they affected the lives of others. Neruda as
a poet found many effective ways to emphasize his opinions and views within his own community,
which is why many people who did not agree with his views found Neruda to be dangerous and too
influential over the public in Chile. Over time as Neruda wrote more poems, a pattern had been shown
through his work. Symbolism was the one of the many effective ways that Neruda chose to expose the
reality of the society, the difference of symbolism to the other ways was that symbolism forced the
reader to think deeper about certain topics and that would soon make them realize the brutality of what
was Chile. An odor stayed in the cane fields:/ carrion, blood, and a nausea/ of harrowing petals./

Compulsory Military Draft
Compulsory National Service was accepted by many Americans back when the nation was starting to

may have a different career path in mind that could be disrupted if a war is to emerge and it will affect
their mental state and they could be diagnosed with PTSD.
To start off, compulsory national service is when a country requires that men and women register for
the military at the age of 18. Once they are registered, if a war breaks out and their nation is in the
war, they are automatically thrown into military service without their say so. This could mean that at

Vincent L. Harris
Webster University
Abstract
All indications are that Operation Shady RAT (Remote Access Tool) started in 2006 although it went
undetected for several years before begin discovered by analysts at McAfee Incorporated in 2011.
Originally it was thought that the tools and techniques used during Operation Shady RAT were highly
complex later investigations determined that the exploits used were previously identified and software
vendors has published appropriate mitigation procedures to protect computers and networks from
unauthorized access. The range of countries and businesses targeted during the operation highlights
the importance of proper patching and vulnerability management policies. Operation Shady RAT
differed from many other cybercrimes by not specifically targeting computer systems for financial
gain; it appears that the perpetrators were after trade secrets and intellectual property. There are
differing opinions on the severity and complexity methods used to compromise the computer systems
by security vendors McAfee and Kaspersky but those whose information was accessed without proper
authorization will attest to the significance of the compromises. There has been no attribution for the
perpetrators of Operation RAT.
A 2011 report by McAfee revealed a five year history of compromised computer systems that they
deemed Operation Shady RAT . Operation Shady

  • 2. How Did Levis Impact The World Levi Strauss woke up one day, not knowing that he would impact the world forever. You maybe be asking, What in the world did Strauss do? He was the one who invented Genes! (Or What we call nowadays Jeans.) Here is some back information about Levi Strauss life. He was born February 26, 1829, in the city of Buttenheim, Germany. He has six siblings and he was the youngest. Growing up in Germany for him was hard because he was Jewish. When Levi was sixteen, his father passed away from a disease. This was the time where he moved to America. After a few years, the Gold Rush came into play. He decided that it would be good opportunity to make a business. So he moved to California to find some inspiration. In the 1850 s he moved from New York to California where he opened a shop selling supplies to miners. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He was making covers for the 49ers but then he decided to make pants instead. He didn t think that this would make an impact. It was just one of the normal things that people sold in the shop. He named the jeans Miners Pant s and that s where everything started. But people saw it as something different. Miners loved the pants so much it became super popular. In a matter of time, Strauss was working so hard for everyone to get at least one pair. Soon he edited his pants once again and started to use blue denim (Which are pronounced Genes in French but in English it is Jeans ) for his pants. Then soon in 1872, Jacob Davis, a Nevada Tailor, sent a letter. He requested something that he couldn t do. Adding rivets or what we know, pockets. Jacob didn t have the money to complete the patent process so he decided to tell Strauss. And so, the jeans we know and love were ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Section 98 makes the right of private defence available even against persons who, by reason of infancy, insanity, intoxication or misconception, are legally incompetent to commit an offence. And Section 106 allows a person to take the risk of harming innocent person in order to, in exercise of the right of private defence of body, save himself from mortal injury. Section96, thus, declares, in general terms, that nothing is an offence which is done in the exercise of private defence. The subsequent ss 97 98 and 100 106 explain the contours of the right and define the broad boundaries within which it can be exercised. All the rights enumerated in these sections are subject to restriction or limitations that are stated in sec. 99. Nature of The Right It is the first duty of man to help himself. The right of self defence must be fostered in the citizens of every free country. The right is recognized in every system of law and its extent varies in the inverse ratio to the capacity of the state to protect life and property of the subject (citizens). It is the primary duty of the state to protect the life and property of individuals, but no state, no matter how large its resources, can afford to depute a policeman to dog the steps of every rouge in the country. • 4. The Psychology Of Sexual Orientations The Psychology of Sexual Orientations Throughout the history of humans, people have been having sex. It s obviously necessary for the continuation of humans as a species. But it definitely hasn t been for just reproductive purposes. People have been engaging in same gender sex for probably as long as humans have been around. However, the terms we think of today when we think of different sexual orientations didn t get coined until the 19th and 20th centuries. And with these terms came huge stigma that still exists today. There are many different sexual orientations that people identify as (including heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality, as well as many others); the orientations that do not coincide with what people viewed as normal were originally given classification as mental disorders. The most common sexual orientation, regardless of culture, is heterosexuality. This is defined as a sexual orientation in which an individual is generally sexually attracted to members of the opposite sex. A Centers for Disease Control national survey reported that the percentage of Americans who identify themselves as heterosexual was 90 percent for men and women (King, 2011, p. 363). This orientation is also considered by many people, cultures and religion throughout history and into the present as being the normal and natural orientation, with the idea that any deviation from heterosexuality is unnatural, a choice, and a thing that needs to be corrected. This belief, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. My Experience Of Teens It is truly astonishing how much we, as teens in the 21st century, take for granted. We go through our day, as if everything we do is a given right, rather than a privilege that we have. We don t ever stop to think about how so much, could be taken away from us in an instant. It was Monday, June 5th, 2017. I had just come back from an invitational hockey camp in Canada and I was up bright and early that morning so that I could go to Westridge and take my last two finals of the year. By the time I had gotten in the car, it was 7:20 in the morning, and I felt ready to take my finals. While in the car, my mom was listening to KBS radio station. I wasn t completely listening, but from what I could hear, the station was talking about a single engine plane crash in the Santa Rosa Valley that happened the other day. They were just mentioning how the two victims in the plane crash were identified just as I was getting out of the car. From there, I tried to clear my mind of everything and just reviewed the things that I knew. I walked onto campus with my face inside a binder and although I knew the material, I attempted to cram even more useless information into my brain. I stopped in front of my math classroom when I felt my phone ringing inside of my crossbody bag, against my hip. I grabbed my phone out of my bag to see that I already had 4 missed calls from one of my good friends, Miles Brodey. Assuming that Miles would be calling me with a purpose, I adjourned my terse review ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Theme Of Timshel By John Steinbeck It is difficult to decipher the good and the evil that lives within people. John Steinbeck provokes both virtues in the East of Eden, taking place in Salinas Valley, California in the 1900 s. The theme that is subtly circling all over the book is the meaning of the word timshel which revolves around the characters Cathy, Adam, and Caleb. To begin with, a central theme in the story is the Hebrew word timshel. There are several philosophical analyses involving this word throughout the book. Steinbeck brought it up through the character Lee as he explained that the American Standard translation orders men to triumph over sin...The King James translation makes a promise in thou shalt, meaning that men will surely triumph over sin. But the Hebrew word, the word timshel Thou mayest that gives a choice (303). This quote means that man can freely choose to be kind or evil which continuously connects both Adam Trask and Caleb Trask throughout the book. An example in the book is when Adam was dealing with his depression. Unfortunately, Adam had not embraced the responsibility and role of fatherhood, resulting in disregarding his sons entirely, much like his own father had. That vile feeling in Adam left him with the mindset that he would never better. When he finally brought his mind back on track and started caring more about his son s interests, it showed in the character s development as he let go of his father s ways and became his own man. Continuing the theme ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are divides that exist in Canada; historically, culturally, and politically. These divides exist as a part of a nation that is in continual development and growth a nation of diversity and democracy. It is the diversity between English speaking Canadians and French speaking Canadians that will be focused upon in the following pages of this paper. Anglophone and Francophone Canadians are at odds. Historically, the tensions between these Canadians pre dates the founding of this country. Culturally; language, beliefs, traditions and values differ between these people tremendously. • 9. The Great Gatsby thesis statement Abstract The Great Gatsby is written by the American author F. Scott Fitzgerald. The story takes place in the roaring twenties . The characters in the novel have dreams and goals and not one dream ends well. That is why my thesis statement is: The Great Gatsby is really about unattainable dreams. The dreams I am discussing is Gatsby´s American dream, Daisy s dream and Nick s dream. The dreams are based on the love story between Daisy and Gatsby. The final piece in Gatsby s American dream would be if he got Daisy to wed him. Daisy dreams of Gatsby but chooses between him and her current husband Tom. Nick wants Gatsby s life to be a happy life and he cares a lot about him. His dream is for the story to end well. When Daisy does not choose ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He wishes that Gatsby s life should contain a happy ever after. There are a lot of dreams in the book but I want to distinguish these three main dreams and how none of them gets fulfilled. Gatsby s American dream The first dream that does not get fulfilled is the one of Gatsby. He starts off as an underprivileged boy and struggles his way to the top. We make his acquaintance when he is on the top of his life. He is enjoying his big house and his vast wealth. The one thing he cannot have is his lovely Daisy. Gatsby s story reflects the classical American dream: Anyone can make anything of himself/herself with just elbow grease, spirit and a whole lot of confidence. Jay loves Daisy and, sadly, she is the one thing which he cannot procure to his perfect life . His wealth is shown clearly, for instance when he throws huge parties just to have the chance of meeting or seeing Daisy. This behavior is not feasible if you do not have that kind of money which leads us to the conclusion that he is wealthy. The symbol that portrays the American dream is the green light. The light symbolizes wealth but also Daisy, the latter because there is a green light at the end of Daisy´s dock. He reaches out for it just like he reaches out for his dream. His material world reflects Daisy. Daisy is sometimes a symbol of the American dream. Her voice is full of money... That was it. I d never understood before. It was full of money that was the inexhaustible ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. A Prostitute A Servant And A Latina In Humanities Chapter... Living as a latina in the United States of America is tough. Racial stereotypes follow minorities everywhere they go, even in the classroom. The average American has a typical image of what a professor should look like. What should they look like? These perceived images should not exist because professors could come from all around the world. In A Prostitute, A servant, and a Customer Service Representative: A Latina In Academia , professor in the department of Critical Culture, Gender, and Race studies, Carmen R. Lugo Lugo, uses emotional appeals and language to inform and create awareness of social and racial stereotypes, as well as how profiting is a priority amongst universities. Throughout the essay, Lugo Lugo wants one to become informed on prevalent issues in the average college classroom by allowing the reader to appeal to her through emotions. She uses personal stories and thoughts on college profiting accordingly to portray the issue amongst her classroom. As she mentions in her essay, That is why my position within both U.S. society and academia is an important component of this discussion, a position that is described something like this: I am a women. A woman who is of color. A woman of color who is a Puerto Rican (which means I am viewed as a latina). And those markers mean something at the beginning of the twenty first century in and outside the U.S. academy. As identities, they inform the way I position myself in relation to other gendered and racial ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Analysis Of An Open Letter To Myself The song An Open Letter to Myself, off of the album The Here and Now, by Architects is an exemplary song that undergoes a complementary set of major changes throughout the piece. This song was released in 2011 and it would be classified as somewhere within the hard rock to metal genre. While it is common to note the relationship between the writer, performer, and the listener, in this piece it is particularly important to do so. Without one of these components present, this song would likely not carry the same emotional weight as it does. Moreover, this song carries its meaning through its differentiation from itself. Within the piece, the lyrics shift from originally blaming others to blaming the writer and the intensity of the audio changes from soft to grand to compliment this change. One of the major changes this song makes from the beginning to the end can be noted in the lyrics. The writer, Sam Carter, expresses a sense of multifaceted growth through the piece. In the first verse, the writer brushes off the lack of connection to those around him as something that was common to others around him by utilizing either third person, or first person plural, articles to describe what he did not do. Thus, he believed that he should not be judged for this error. However, in the second verse, Carter turns to explicitly blaming himself for the lack of contact and appreciation of an individual he refers to throughout the song as my so called friend . This ... With Split, the only thing I can say with certainty is never have I walked into a movie theatre with low expectations and received even less. As I consider horror to be one of my favorite movie genres, I didn t go and see Split with my expectations super high. Occasionally, I ll come across something authentically creepy, Like Stephen King s Pet Sematary or Ridley Scott s Alien, however many horror flicks can fall on their faces before they even start running. Split tells the tale of three young girls who are kidnapped and held hostage by Kevin Crumb (James McAvoy), a man with 23 different personalities. As they try to escape, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Throughout the movie, there were multiple flashbacks to Casey s (Anya Taylor Joy) past. In these memories, there were allusions to childhood abuse, death, and overall confusion. The flashbacks were intended to add more to Casey s character and her determination to live, but they were so poorly presented that it left more holes in her character than development. Luckily, even movies that make me cry from how awful they are have their silver linings. McAvoy was a shining light in the dark pit that this movie fell in. His ability to portray many different characters within one movie is admirable and entertaining, and not only was he going off camera as one person and on as another, he was capable of shifting personalities on screen. He captured the ability to physically show the mental morphing between personalities while remaining an absolutely phenomenal actor. Although McAvoy provided some sort of appeal in the movie, I would prefer to have those two hours of my life back. Add to that the propensity for celebrities, and regular citizens, to comment on both through social media platforms, and reaching thousands, if not millions of people, it is no wonder we are losing our sense of individuality. The internet makes not only news stories easily accessible, but also allows people to follow and look into other people s lives. Despite the distance Hayek traveled, media outlets like, ABC News: Nightline followed her, filming an episode during her trip. Hayek couldn t possibly argue she was simply a humanitarian because most people who travel to do volunteer work, are not closely followed by a camera trying to film a media worthy episode. The goal for most is to volunteer and hopefully leave knowing they have made a difference, as opposed to going to film for a newscast to entertain millions and to gain positive PR. Hayek preoccupied the media for a different reason than she intended, Hayek s advocacy for tetanus prevention among expectant mothers is not what preoccupied commentators or celebrity observers who saw this episode of Nightline. Rather, the fact that Hayek breastfed a Sierra Leonean baby was (Benton 188). Hayek received varying messages, including high praise and criticism. People began questioning if it was for the sake of television or if it was a true act of heroism. There are many elements of humanitarianism and it is not as simple as just having compassion. Unfortunately, hierarchies of privilege often play a part in humanitarianism even if they shouldn t. • 15. Causes Of Immigration In America The United States experienced major waves of immigration during the colonial era, the first part of the 19th century and from the 1880s to 1920. Many immigrants came to America seeking greater economic opportunity, while some, such as the Pilgrims in the early 1600s, arrived in search of religious freedom. From the 17th to 19th centuries, hundreds of thousands of African slaves came to America against their will. The first significant federal legislation restricting immigration was the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act. Individual states regulated immigration prior to the 1892 opening of Ellis Island, the country s first federal immigration station. New laws in 1965 ended the quota system that favored European immigrants, and today, the majority of the country s immigrants hail from Asia and Latin America. From its earliest days, America has been a nation of immigrants, starting with its original inhabitants who crossed the land bridge connecting Asia and North America tens of thousands of years ago. By the 1500s, the first Europeans, led by the Spanish and French, had begun establishing settlements in what would become the United States. In 1607, the English founded their first permanent settlement in present day America at Jamestown in the Virginia Colony. Some of America s first settlers came in search of freedom to practice their faith. Steven Spielberg s Film Jaws Steven Spielberg s film JAWS (1975), (Spielberg/Universal), uses the motif of an essentially unseen shark, ominously present through unpredictable displays of terrifying violence, to sculpt a message about good, evil, power, arrogance, and vanity within the hegemony of small town middle class America. Spielberg markets this High Concept (Cook 40), film and its nationalist ideals on a story that is principally based on one image, the shark, and the fallibility of the human decision making process. In a relatively short scene that lasts no longer than a minute and a half, eleven or so minutes into the film, the viewer is presented with the hierarchy of the town s political decision making process, its hubris and the lack of concern for the physical safety of the common citizenry over which they govern. The scene takes place on a small ferry boat in the town s harbor. The previous evening there was an unwitnessed shark attack in the harbor water which killed a young woman. The discussion on the ferry, held by the town s mayor, selectmen, medical examiner, and police chief, is primarily between police chief Brody and Mayor Vaughn. I lived in a beautiful canyon in the mountains and went hiking and camping a lot. One camping trip, being a bit naive and inexperienced I wiped with the nearest green leaf I could find. What followed was an excruciating lesson never to be forgotten. Not being from Utah, I had never seen or been around poison ivy before. Later that fall, I was on a committee decorating for an autumn formal dance. I gathered interesting and colorful vines and weeds to make thirteen large wreaths for the walls. Poison Ivy (Taxicodendron radicans, also called Rhus radicans) is a member of the Anacardiaceae family (Sumac/Cashew) and is a native woody plant in Wisconsin. It is considered a noxious weed. It spreads both vegetatively and sexually. The seeds are spread by animal feces. The plant also sends out underground rhizomes, from which dense patches of green spring up. It flowers in late spring to early summer. The yellow white flowers are clusters of five sepals and five petals tiny florets on a stalk, or petiole. • 22. Trope In Enchanted Adults historically love to glorify the idealism and emotionality of childhood through storytelling. From Mark Twain s perennial wild boy Huckleberry Finn, who befriends a runaway slave despite the prejudices of adult society, to Hiccup of the 2010 film How to Train Your Dragon, the only one of his village who recognizes that dragons are not evil but actually kind animals, American media has no shortage of children who are somehow able to see more than their adult counterparts. Patricia Read Russell s 1983 essay Parallel Romantic Fantasies: Barrie s Peter Pan and Spielberg s E.T.: The Extraterrestrial traces the echos of the 1904 play Peter Pan in Spielberg s then recent film, E.T. and one of the parallels she highlights is this very concept. Russell borrows from Wordsworth in her essay to concisely describe the trope of a child s ability to see more clearly than adults, referring to it as the visionary gleam . Russell s essay underlines the presence of this trope in E. T. s protagonist, a ten year old boy named Elliot, and in his bond with the title character, a friendly lost alien. Over twenty five years later, the same trope is explored in Disney s parody film Enchanted but through the lense of a young girl. The concept of the visionary gleam of childhood perpetuated by Spielberg s film and Enchanted reflects an inherent desire of adults to return to a simpler, more emotionally driven period of their lives which may or may not have actually existed, and this ... • 33. Apollo 13 Technological Transformations APOLLO 13: THE TECHNOLOGICAL CHANGES. WHAT HAPPENED BY ZAVIAN ALI The Apollo 13 mission left a great legacy and may have been one of the greatest mission of Nasa. The astronauts pulled off an amazing run by having to survive of lack of oxygen and lack of warmth. This is because the rupture in the oxygen tank exploded, which caused the inside of the spacecraft to get damaged. The stability was very unstable. Houston we have a problem This is what James A. Apollo 13 had a exploration impact on history for making nasa work harder to make better machines and also had a impact on history in the technological way. The astronauts had to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They were calm and collective in the emergency issues. Nasa made more safety regulations so that space ships would be more careful and more sturdy. Hopefully in the future any oxygen tanks will not explode in air so that astronauts do not have to feel what Apollo 13 astronauts went through. After finding out that Nasa changed the way they build their technology all of astronauts were happy and excited that safety hazards have changed. In my opinion I think that Nasa should have more people on board and then they can help people if any of these situations were to happen again. Apollo 13 made history by having to orbit the moon and going back. They did not complete the mission or objective but they still lived. This is also another reason why it is called the successful failure. Apollo 13 was a great topic to learn about and also amazing to see what happened to the scientists and how they survived in the situation that they were in. They were very brave and not worried at all. The astronauts were calm and collective. They orbited the moon once and had to go back to earth and jump in the pacific ocean. • 34. Reaction Rate Lab Introduction The reaction rates provide important information concerning the factors that control the speed of a chemical reaction or the steps that occur in complex mechanisms of a chemical reaction in a study called chemical kinetics. The most common factors that affect the reaction rate are concentration, temperature and actions of catalyst. The rate of reaction is ( Rate=k[A]n[B]m) which is written in rate law expression. Reaction rates may be determined by following the appearance of disappearance of chemical substance or the change in a characteristic property. In the experiment hydrogen peroxide will undergo decomposition and the product oxygen gas collected. Initial rate at which the O2 is produced will be monitored to determine the rate 2H2O22H2O(l)+O2(g). Since the reaction rates depend on reactant concentrations, the rate at which O2is produced on lt during the initial few minutes of the reaction, the reaction concentrations should not decrease significantly. This method of investigation is called the initial rate method. Experimental ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 35. Spider M Turn Off The Dark After a $75 million dollar investment, Spider Man: Turn Off The Dark premiered in the summer of 2011 at Foxwoods Theater. By the time the curtains opened to reveal the highly controversial show, Spider Man had become the most expensive theatrical production ever produced in the world. The show also opened to many negative reviews and infamous technical difficulties which included an actor falling over 20 feet into the orchestra pit. The budget, which was originally planned at $51 million dollars, quickly snowballed out of hand after numerous delays and high operating costs. However, this did not stop theatergoers from witnessing the controversial spectacle. Its Box office numbers were strong, but it would take much more than solid ticket sales to turn over profit. By the time Spider Man closed its doors, the production had lost over $60 million dollars, making it one of the most iconic flops in Broadway history (Weiss). More than any recent production, Spider Man: Turn Off The Dark highlights the financial risk that goes into producing a Broadway musical. Both non profit theater and commercial theater are driven by financial factors. The risk and financial dependency of American theater in the new century has influenced content that attempts to maximize this financial return. Through its own economic ecosystem, Broadway theater production creates a system that intertwines and supports both commercially viable spectacles and content driven non profit theater. • 36. Drought In The Mississippi River Delta Wetlands Wetlands are extremely valuable to society. Wetlands can decrease flooding, remove pollutants from water, recharge groundwater, protect shorelines, provide habitat for wildlife, and serve important recreational and cultural functions. The Mississippi River Delta ecosystems alone provide at least $12 47 billion in benefits to people every year. If wetlands are lost, the cost of replacing them can be extremely expensive, if at all possible. Lost wetlands can result in a city having to invest more money in drinking water treatment or higher costs to citizens for flood insurance. • 37. Theme Of The Dictators By Pablo Neruda In Pablo Neruda s poetry it was evident that symbolism was utilized to strengthen his main theme throughout his poems, some being The Dictators , Hunger in the South , The Beggars , and To the foot from its child , and within these poems the main theme would be shown to be the unfair distribution of power and wealth in the Chilean society. In the poem The Dictators Neruda focuses on the leaders of the country and comparing their work to the work of those who lived in poverty. Neruda sets a base for these four poems where they re all centered on the same idea, such as the one in The Dictators , comparing those who were part of the upper class, and how they affected the lives of others. Neruda as a poet found many effective ways to emphasize his opinions and views within his own community, which is why many people who did not agree with his views found Neruda to be dangerous and too influential over the public in Chile. Over time as Neruda wrote more poems, a pattern had been shown through his work. Symbolism was the one of the many effective ways that Neruda chose to expose the reality of the society, the difference of symbolism to the other ways was that symbolism forced the reader to think deeper about certain topics and that would soon make them realize the brutality of what was Chile. However, forcing young adults to join or at least register for the military at the age of 18 or is wrong because it is against their free will, they may have a different career path in mind that could be disrupted if a war is to emerge and it will affect their mental state and they could be diagnosed with PTSD. To start off, compulsory national service is when a country requires that men and women register for the military at the age of 18. Once they are registered, if a war breaks out and their nation is in the war, they are automatically thrown into military service without their say so. Harris Webster University Abstract All indications are that Operation Shady RAT (Remote Access Tool) started in 2006 although it went undetected for several years before begin discovered by analysts at McAfee Incorporated in 2011. Originally it was thought that the tools and techniques used during Operation Shady RAT were highly complex later investigations determined that the exploits used were previously identified and software vendors has published appropriate mitigation procedures to protect computers and networks from unauthorized access. The range of countries and businesses targeted during the operation highlights the importance of proper patching and vulnerability management policies. Operation Shady RAT differed from many other cybercrimes by not specifically targeting computer systems for financial gain; it appears that the perpetrators were after trade secrets and intellectual property. There are differing opinions on the severity and complexity methods used to compromise the computer systems by security vendors McAfee and Kaspersky but those whose information was accessed without proper authorization will attest to the significance of the compromises. There has been no attribution for the perpetrators of Operation RAT. A 2011 report by McAfee revealed a five year history of compromised computer systems that they deemed Operation Shady RAT .
