Accountability Of The Army Is A Integral Part Of Discipline
Accountability in the army is another integral part of Discipline, Accountability as defined
should be understood as responsibility plain and simple. When the army asks a soldier, what is
your accountability? It is merely asking, who or what are you responsible for? It is the
responsibility of the service member to have within himself the desire to care for anything or
anyone that is around him or under his supervision. The great challenge that the army presents to
all soldiers is for them to understand and never forget, is that accountability is never given or in
other words it is not forced to be received, it is an offer is an invitation to remember and to
withhold at all times. By nature, all soldiers struggle with daily written and memorized tasks,
routines that seem to become tedious and nerve breaking at times, and the definition of
accountability at many times seem to diminish in our minds from I need to take care of everything
and everyone around me to did I forget something that benefits myself . Three important words that
easily identify a soldier and that it should make him different from the majority of societies law
breakers, irresponsible, unorganized, immature, selfish, arrogant and pessimists individuals that
consider themselves owners of the land that walk on it but are never willing to lift a finger for the
poor, the needy and the weak. These three words are Discipline, Obedience and accountability.
When a soldier truly have these in his person, not

History Of The Stonewall Riots
Barely minutes after 3 AM on June 28th 1969, what had been a police raid on a known LGBT
club located in New York, known as the Stonewall Inn turned violent. Outside, hundreds of
protesters and sympathizers began rioting against the sudden police force. While the NYPD had
been justified in closing down the club, the events which would follow over the next six days
would go on to spark revolution, and establish the LGBTmovement for gaycivil rights. It is
inevitably because of these protests that the LGBT community has the rights and freedom that they
have today. However, the Stonewall Riots are not as recognized as a copious amount of protests
and revolts, and are a severely underrated historical event, which resulted in the removal of... Show

Shortly after this act, practicing sexual deviants enlisted within the U.S Civil Service had been
immediately fired after an investigation consisting of 192 suspects, most of which lost their
posts after the accusations. These investigations began after a myriad of Republican accusations
saying that the Federal civil service was a hotbed of sex perversion , (Belderman, The Observer
), and were initiated by then President Truman s administration. During this time, the ownership
of an alcohol license was immensely important, and could be revoked upon recognition that the
bar was disorderly . Up until the year 1967, selling alcohol to homosexuals could result in a bar
being deemed disorderly, thus closing it down. While the state of New York overturned this law,
a multitude of other states such as Miami maintained them, hence prohibiting the liquor licenses
to, knowingly sell to, serve to or allow consumption of alcoholic beverages by a homosexual
person, lesbian or pervert ... or to knowingly allow two or more persons who are homosexuals,
lesbians or perverts to remain in his place of business . However, the removal of this law in New
York did not stop the constant raids on rumoured gay bars and clubs, resulting in the abolishment of
these businesses alcohol licenses, and the arrest of countless individuals found inside. Those
arrested thought to be gay had their names published in reports and newspapers, ensuing a possible
job loss the following

Battle Of Midway Outline
Battle of Midway World War II was a significant point in American history. The turning point in
the pacific was the Battle of Midway. As leaders, we need to be aware of what the Battle of
Midway brought to the fight in the pacific and what we learned. The Battle We are actively
preparing to greet our expected visitors with the kind of reception they deserve (Admiral
Chester W. Nimitz, Commander in Chief, U.S. Pacific Fleet 29May1942). The battle of Midway
was fought through the fourth and seventh of June 1942, in the central pacific island of Midway.
The battle is considered one of the biggest decisive points of the Second World War taking place
in the Pacific. The fight was mainly between the Americans and the Japanese. The Japanese were
in the offensive takin up islands and land trough out the pacific and Asia. Japan was on the hunt to

13 Appellate Courts
There are many different levels of our federal court system, each of them are appointed a different
case category. Above all other courts we have the Supreme Court, the United States Constitution

network of lower courts.
Directly underneath the Supreme Court we have the Courts of Appeals, which consist of 13
appellate courts. 94 federal judicial districts are divided into 12 regional circuits, each circuit
having their own Court of Appeals. The 13th appellate court is in the Federal Circuit, which has a

Descriptive Essay About Rain
The cold sensation comes again, letting off a warning of the impending danger that was soon to
come. My insides churn, the things I had seen beforehand were burned into my memory, but for
now I had to find a way to survive, to escape this mad mess I had got myself into... The rain was
particularly heavy today, the clouds a gray cluster of mess. I look at my beaten down leather
watch, it s 5:30, the time we were supposed to meet up. With a sigh, I grabbed my transparent
umbrella and walked out my front door. I had agreed to meet up with friends to work on
schoolwork, not the most fitting weekend but staying at home alone didn t seem much
appealing either. The thunder shook the sky, as if letting off a warning, begging me to go back.
The double story house greets me with an intimidating stare. It was a Victorian style house, an
old shabby, gothic building. That enough was an unpleasant sight in all the rain. With a sigh, I
swing the door open, taking note of the lack of a lock on the door as I walked in. My friends all
greet me with smiles that were a bit too excited for my liking. As I look around, If there was one
thing the house was full of, it was photos. They were everywhere, and for a strange reason, they
were all in a black and white monochrome, full of different people. While the rest of the group
struck a conversation, I examined the house. The walls were cleanly striped, the only two colours
being a ghostly brown and a pale white. The carpet was rugged and dusty,

Essay about Emperor of China; Self-Portrait of K Ang-Hsi
Emperor of China; Self Portrait of K ang hsi Emperor K ang hsi was one of the greatest Chinese
emperors of all time. Ruling from 1662 to 1722 he was also one of the longest ruling emperors in
Chinese history and for that matter the world. K ang hsi brought China to long term stability and
relative wealth after years of war and chaos. Jonathan Spence writes from the eyes of K ang hsi
getting his information from K ang hsi s own writings. Though a little biased towards himself this
book still provides important insight into his mind. Emperorof Chinais divided into six parts; In
Motion, Ruling, Thinking, Growing Old, Sons, and Valedictory. In the first episode, In Motion,

K ang hsi tried to stay open with the public about his health, explaining that this is the ultimate
form of honesty. Emperor K ang hsi tried to live forever through his children. He had 56
children all together but only one with his first wife, who later took over the thrown. The
Emperor was very protective of his sons and made sure they got everything they wanted. He
would often kill someone that threatened the chance of a power overthrow. He once killed three
cooks and several servant boys for suspicion of homosexual activity with his son Yin jeng. At the
end of K ang hsi s life, he became very senile and distant from reality and the Chinese people.
Even though Spence goes into great detail about Emperor K ang hsi s life than any history book
could have. He does this by emphasizing his writings and not other sources. The downfall to this
is he does not go into great detail about many of the facts or important historical events. By this
time China had foreign intervention and influence; Spence did not address any of the foreign
policies K ang hsi made during his reign. Spence only wrote one paragraph about the
confrontations with Russia, but the real even actually lasted over several decades. And the only
thing that was mentioned was how nice the Emperor was to the Russian prisoners. Emperor of China

Roseanne Barr s Focus On Reality In The 90s
Focusing on Reality: The 90s Reality ruled the 1990s. It ranged from a spike in reality based
entertainment, such as MTV s Real World, to the airing of the very real events of the Gulf War on
network television (The 90s). After a decade of excess and denial in the eighties, the American
people longed for truth. The 1990s was a time when the line between legitimate news and
entertainment was blurred (The 90s). During this time, news events started to be shown live. The
U.S. Military chose to show the Gulf War on televisionin order to establish dominance not only
among their people, but also among world powers (The 90s). American viewers were exposed to

She wasn t a star because she was rich, or because she had it all together . She was a star because
she was real. Roseanne Barr was the main character of a TV series called Roseanne ( Barr,
Roseanne). She won an emmy for her character and was well known for her outspoken opinions
( Barr, Roseanne ). Her show was focused on a working class family. It was a blue collar
situation comedy (Mayerle, Judine). This is why it was able to connect with so many people.
The plot for Roseanne evolved out of cultural issues and it echoed the most relevant of the
American people s thoughts (Mayerle, Judine). Although the show was extremely popular,
producers were not nearly as fond of it. When the show reached number one, ABC sent the cast
and crew a cake as opposed to the other extremely extravagant gifts that they sent to other shows
that peaked at number 1 (The 90s). The act was a mix of two types of comedy: presentational
and representational (Mayerle, Judine). This blend was popular among viewers. Roseanne was
very vocal and held many strong opinions about women s rights (Mayerle, Judine). Roseanne s
role reflected the growing influence of women in the television community (Mayerle, Judine).
Roseanne used her platform to give a voice to the middle, working class people. She sent the
message to the American public that a stereotypical, idealized American family was overrated.
She expressed her disillusionment through comedy. She wove humor and political commentary
together to reach as large and diverse an audience as possible. Everything was ridiculed on her
show, and she regularly skewered issues that the country viewed as sacred. Her show expressed the
disillusionment of viewers throughout the United States. It opened doors for families to connect
with other families based on their problems instead of the facade they had struggled for so long to

Designing A 3d Printing Business
Company Selection
The business that I choose to discuss is a 3D printing business which offers services to the medical
sector, looking at the background information I would be discussing the History of 3D Printing,
Medical Printing history ,
Introduction of 3D printing industry
3D printing, started in the late 80s by a company called Rapid Prototyping Technologies, although
there was a delay in the patent application of the original conceiver Dr. Kodama. However the roots
of 3D printing can be traced back to 1986 when the first patent was issued to Charles Hull who
invented his machine in 1983, and he called it stereolithography and he later went on to co found
3D system Corporation, which created the first 3D printer. Many other companies have since then
developed 3D printers for commercial applications.
3D printing or Additive Manufacturing is a process that takes digital input in the form of
Computer Aided Design (CAD) model and creates solid, three dimensional parts through an
additive, layer by layer process. It can also be defined as a manufacturing process by which objects
are created by fusing or depositing materials such as plastic, metal, living cells in layers to create a
3D item.
3D printers work like the inkjet printers but does not use ink, rather 3D printers deposit Materials
in layers to create a physical object from a digital file.
3D printers are been used in the following industries, Automotive, Aviation, Manufacturing,
Medical, and Jewelry. In

The Prince Power
The Prince in many ways can be read as a type of treatise for people in power looking for ways to
secure their position. Included in what could be considered a handbook, are several suggestions on
how to handle principalities and a large part of the suggestions take into consideration the role of
the people and what that means to the king s ruling. Machiavelli s The Prince, suggests that
attaining glory as a king lies in establishing a division between ruler and citizens.
To have glory means to have done something worth of praise and respect. The text suggests a ruler
must present himself as unpredictable Thus [Castille] has always plotted and achieved great things

He might be chosen by the nobles, who look for a mouthpiece that will guarantee the elite
control of the principality, or by the common people themselves, looking for a savoir that will
keep in touch with his roots and not turn back on the people who elected him. However, a ruler
will run into problems regardless of how he gains control if he does not create the fine line
between himself and the people. A man who becomes ruler through the help of the nobles will
find it harder to maintain his power than on who becomes ruler through the help of the people,
because he is surrounded by many men who consider that they are his equals, and therefore he
cannot give them orders or deal with them as he would wish (34). A distinction between power
has to be implemented by the ruler as soon as he s placed into power or he runs the risk of being
over taken by the very people who placed him in that position. Once the ruler is considered an
equal by more than a handful of close people, he is easier to discredit and his position is no
longer as highly respected. Machiavelli spends a considerable portion of his book, The Prince,
explaining how the people of the state are an important factor in the success of the ruler, success
in this case meaning glory for the king. By slowly but not harshly starting a separation of king
and people, a ruler creates the line of unattainability but respect that will not allow for people to
even dream of reaching his level of

Carrie

There are few writers that could create a body of work that encompasses as many concepts as
Theodore Dreiser s Sister Carrie. His novel follows the life and times of Carrie, a country bell of
sorts who abandons her way of life in favor of a city lifestyle. Through through Carries progress,
Dreiser embodies many philosophies of intelligence, experience, and personal growth. Many great
philosophers have touched subjects that are apparent in Dreiser s work. Sister Carrie epitomizes
many ideas defined by great thinkers such as Eleanor Roosevelt, Lev S. Vygotsky, and Aristotle.
Eleanor Roosevelt once said that Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small
minds discuss people. Dreiser clearly hoped to convey a similar message in this novel. At the
beginning of Carrie s journey she converses with a man named Chas. H. Drouet And so this is

All the time she was conscious of certain features out of the side of her eye. Flush, colorful cheeks,
a light mustache, a gray fedora hat. She now turned and looked upon him in full, the instincts of self
protection and coquetry mingling confusedly in her brain.

Walter B. Miller s Focal Concern Theory
Focal concerns is a theory focuses on the worries of delinquent behaviors. It was presented by
Walter B. Miller in 1958. It is a pure cultural theory of gang delinquency specialized for the lower
class. As Miller explained in a short article that he called Lower Class Culture as a Generating
Milieu of Gang Delinquency, the lower class contributed to a distinct criminogenic culture.
(Greene, Gabbidon Miller, 2013) This means that the lower class produces criminal acts. He also
explained that his explanation of delinquency is based on those who live in unhappy inner cities
where females are mostly the head of their households, and they operate according focal concerns
due to the fact that they do not have middle class values, good discipline, and role models. Some
focal concerns are defined as trouble, toughness, smartness... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

There are children living in societies that are filled with gangs and peer pressure. When I was
growing up, my mother was a single parent; she was also the head of the house, respectfully. She
had a well paying job, but we stayed in a place that I would consider low class. I witnessed kids
smoking, stealing, and being disrespectful to adults, even their own parents. Since my mother
pretty much raised me and taught me not to give in to things that may cause problems in the
future, I really had nothing to worry about. It is not so much as where I lived, it was how I
lived, and I lived great, giving the circumstances. Sadly, not all children are as fortunate as I was.
The types of programs for this theory should not be voluntary; it should be mandatory. There are a
lot of single mothers living in inner cities with children who are not in tune with their reality and
are hanging around the wrong people just so they can be noticed. It is not fair to any of them.
There should be a programs for the focal concerns theory in which communication is

Allusions In The Old Man And The Sea
The Old Man and the Sea Christianity
A parable is a simple story used to illustrate a moral or spiritual lesson, as told by Jesus in the
Gospels. In Ernest Hemingway s, The Old Man and the Sea, Hemingway includes key symbols
and scenarios to create an allusion to certain points or places in the Bible. Hemingway has a great
background on christian writing and references. Szumski says, He has always been religious,
though his religion is not of the orthodox, organized variety. (Szumski Readings on the Old Man

Many readers have interpreted The Old Man and the Sea as a christian allegory because of
language and events in the text associated with the crucifixion of christ. (Unrue Santiago ).
Hemingway intended to place a visual image of christ in the reader s head when referring to
Santiago. Hemingway directly copies the descriptions of christ in the Bible with santiago in this
story. In the novel, Hemingway included the imagery of Santiago struggling up the beach
carrying a cross shaped mast across his shoulders. This part of the novel is much related to Jesus
struggling to the site of his crucifixion carrying his cross across his shoulders. The suffering, the
gentleness, and the wood it is noted, blend magically into an image of Christ on the cross, so it
may be. (Bloom Ernest Hemingway s The Old Man and the Sea ). This imagery of christ is also
portrayed when Santiago is laying on his bed face down with his arms out straight and the palms
of his hands up. This is also the position of Jesus being nailed to the cross in crucifixion.
Hemingway purposely adds these obvious similarities so that the reader can easily recognize how
the story is related to the Bible and how Santiago represents

Working from home: the disadvantage Tina DiNunzio HRP7110 Human Resources Management
Jodi Smith October 23, 2014 Working from home can sound like a dream come true. However, like
any job situation there are many disadvantages to home employment that may become apparent
over time. For some, this can mean making a few adjustments to make the situation more tolerable.
For others, the disadvantages can be so powerful that they can put an end to the home office

The problem is that by working from home, you tend to take yourself out of the running for
promotions and work rewards (Turcotte). You will also find that in many cases, the job that you
would be promoted into can t be done from home so you simply won t be considered for it. This
is a non issue if you are content staying in the same position for the duration of your career. If,
however, you plan on getting ahead and moving up in your career field, then working from
home could be a problem (Turcotte). Home employment is sometimes not taken seriously by
prospective employers, and it can be viewed as a gap in the resume (Provenzano). One of the
main reasons people tend to work onsite is because they love doing it with the goal of getting
promoted, so they can climb the corporate ladder. If you are a freelancer or if you work from
home, you might lose sight of these opportunities (Wall). If you do freelance work, that means
you are more of an independent contractor than a regular employee. Sometimes people with
home employment are often looked at as if they don t do real work (Park). A large majority of

The Themes Of Everyman
Everyman is a morality play that was written around the 15th century. The playwright of this
morality play is not known till this day. Everyman refers to a character that represents every
human being living on earth, living their lives the way they want to, enjoying the pleasures of life
and neglecting the laws of God and God himself. Through death, God summons Everyman to
come before him and account for the way he has lived his life. That to him becomes a terrifying
journey to undertake. In this play characters are personified because they are in fact non living
things but materialistic objects. In the form of an essay, I will discuss in detail the vital aspects of
Everyman the play such as Setting, Protagonist, Major conflict, rising action, climax, falling action,
themes, motifs, symbols and foreshadowing.
THE ASPECTS
SETTING (Time and Place)
The play was written around the 1400 s in the 15th century and the writer was possibly motivated
by his/her religion to write such a morality play. According to Michael (2010: 1) The action begins
in heaven when God sends Death to summon the main character, Everyman. Thereafter, the action
takes place on earth. It is often believed that God lives in heavenly realms so therefore the place in

The main theme in Everyman is that people will have to account for everything they have done
while still alive. In sub themes, there are negative and positive themes. The positive themes
comprise of Good deeds, Confession and Knowledge, and the negative themes comprise of lusts,
greediness and wild living. Everyman becomes the victim of the negative themes and at his death

Where The Red Fern Grow Analysis
Dr. Horgan,
I cannot recall the exact age I started reading, but I do know by second grade I was well on my
way. Books interested me back then. I remember going to the public library and sitting on the
bean bags and just reading. By, fifth grade I was breezing through books and getting all my stars
for the Pizza Hut and scholastic challenge. The teachers made us do reports to make sure we were
actually reading the books. However, I think even back then I was in a rush to get my stars that I
skimmed through the books. Was this a decline to my leaning process? Maybe but I still had the
joy of reading. The last book that really caught my attention was Where the Red Fern Grows. I

Metamorphosis By Kafka Research Paper
Kafka s short story Metamorphosis absurdist novel has a number of absurdities in it for the
reader to relate to in their life. There were two that stood out, Gregory, the main charater, turning
into an insect and the family carrying on in life trying to not make a big deal out to the situation.
In the beginning, Gregory awakes to find himself having difficulties rolling out of bed. Slightly
concerned about his troubles with getting out of bed quickly subsided to his worries about
missing work. Although some people have experienced this in the past relating this to a bad back

Thursday Night Nachos Essay
On September 21, September 28 and October 5, my friends and I wanted to watch Thursday Night
Football, so we got together and met at Willy McCoys in Champlin. The three times that I went, the
drinks were astounding, and at a cut rate price, the waitress staff was friendly and also the
atmosphere in the restaurant was welcoming and laid back. Unfortunately, the quality of the food
that I ordered was abysmal.
I ordered nachos that are part of the Thursday night half price app special, the three times that I
went to Willy McCoys. I ordered extra cheese and extra beef on my nachos. When the nachos
were delivered to me by the waitress, the chips were cooked perfectly. I am disappointed with the
quality of the food because a majority of the beef was cold and most of the cheese was
unmelted. I assumed that the cook had an off day , or that there was a malfunction with a
cooking equipment. So, on September 28 and October 5, I had my friends order nachos with
extra cheese and beef. They as well received cold beef and unmelted cheese. In my opinion, I
would rather have food that is well cooked to ideal temperature, instead of food that is cold and has
the potential of getting me sick. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Differences Between Monarchy and Democracy
Differences between Monarchy and Democracy
1. Democracy is a type of government that emanates from the constituted powers that are elected,
depending on the system (presidentialist, parliamentary, constitutional monarchy, semi
presidentialist, semi parliamentary, etc...) directly or indirectly by the people. Whereas in an
absolute monarchy, an absolutist regime exists and is in power because of family lineage.
2. In democracy three state powers(in most cases) exist as a checks and balances system, these
being the judicial, executive and legislative as it was enunciated in Montesquieu s Of the Spirit of
law. And they are independent, complementary and with no relation of subordination. Whereas in
an absolute monarchy, the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

difference between powers or branches and bodies. Powers are the ones that control one specific
social role, verbi gratia, the judiciary controls the courts, but bodies serve a specific function under
a power or branch. An example to serve this is Germany that has three brances( executive, judicial

Essay on The PATRIOT Act is Necessary, Lawful and Effective
Two thousand nine hundred people from fifty four countries were killed on September 11, 2001.
In response to this tragedy, the United States of America passed the USA PATRIOT Act, an
acronym standing for Uniting and strengthening America by providing Appropriate Tools Required
to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism Act, on October 26, 2001. The act gives law enforcement
agencies and the Foreign Intelligence Agency the right to share information. It also allows these
agencies to tap phones and gather other forms of information using delayed notice warrants.
Investigators are also allowed to get hold of personal information, such as library records, under
this act (Update). Although critics of the PATRIOT act say that it violates privacy, the

Even when the Central Intelligence Agency, CIA, told the FBI that al Mihdhar and other Bin
Laden related individuals were in the United States, the FBI refused to open a criminal
investigation because at that time it was illegal to share information among the agencies. If this
case had been opened, the investigation of al Mihdhar could have given key evidence regarding
the participants of the 9/11 attack beforehand, helping to prevent the attack (Kyl 140). The delayed
notice and sneak and peek warrants that the USA PATRIOT actallows are just as crucial as the
information sharing between intelligence and criminal investigators. As Attorney General Gonzales
explains,
Winning the war on [terrorism] requires winning the war of information. [The United state is]
dealing with a very dangerous, very patient, very diabolical enemy who wants to [harm it], and in
order to be effective in dealing with this enemy, [the country needs] to have information. [The
United States needs] to know who the enemy is ...[,] what the enemy is thinking ...[, and] where the
enemy is thinking about striking [next].(Domestic)
The only way for investigators to acquire this sort of information is through delayed notice and
sneak and peak warrants. These types of search warrants allow investigators to conduct searches
without informing the subjects before the investigation. If investigators followed the previous
protocol for searches, they would not be able to gather

Peace, love, and unity should prevail for people to live with harmony with each other and unless
these three factors take course, it would be difficult to consider one another as equal partners in the
society. It is very important to note that every person was created differently and therefore, have
their own unique features and characteristics and it would be wrong to discriminate against one
another on any grounds. However, there are certain human qualities such as homosexuality and
lesbianism that are highly controversial in the society today; various factions of people present
their views on the issue. There are those who oppose them by terming them as immoral and there
are those support them by terming them as human rights (Blackwell, Ricks Dziegielewski, 2004).
One person who stands out openly to call for homosexuals rights is the former president s wife,
Hillary Clinton, who made her opinion on this issue public at Geneva where she attended a
meeting to celebrate Human Rights Day. In a society dominated by men, Hillary Clinton s speech
is bold and radical. Clinton, a white, heterosexual woman, went against societal norms by
advocating for the rights of homosexuals who are abused solely because of their sexual orientation.

research employed a qualitative research method that is concerned with developing explanations of
social phenomena, in other words, the goal is to help to understand the world and why things are

production that uses the tools of deception and humor under the category of comedy. As defined
by Paul N. Siegel, A comic play is usually accepted to be a light hearted play with a happy
conclusion. Yet, Shakespearian tragic plays often use deception as a method to damage the role
of the hero. In other Shakespearian tragedies like Othello and Richard III, deception is one of the
main tools used to gain a victory over the hero. A Shakespearian tragedy is defined to be a hero

Champion speaks of the evolution of this mature romantic comedy and describes this scene as
transformational deception . Much Ado About Nothing begins to place drama and intrigue into

About Nothing as a Comedy of Forgiveness and notes that Beatrice quickly changed her feelings
(shows forgiveness) toward Benedick once deception gave her the push she needed to accept
him. This mature comedy resembles tragedy in that it is supplied with a role character s

Four Characteristics Essay Comparison Of Four Ecosystems
Comparison of Four Ecosystem Essay Assignment An ecosystem is the relationship between the
biotic and abiotic components. Biotic components are composed of all living things in contrast,
abiotic components are composed of the non living parts of an environment. (Ms. Blackshaw) This
essay is focused on the abiotic factors that influence an ecosystem. They are many abiotic factors
affecting an ecosystem such as temperature, water, wind, sunlight, rocks, soil, and oxygen.
However, the three abiotic factors that affect a parking lot, field, meadow, and forest the
greatest are wind, rock and water. Wind is defined as the movement of the air. Even though,
Wind is an abiotic factor it is still vital for various ecosystems. In parking lots, wind is non
prominent due to the lack of trees compared to the forest, where it is chilly and windy. Some
biotic factors that were recorded in the parking lot were, grass, tress, and dandelions. Dandelions
are important for bees and other organisms that consume nectar. Without wind, the dandelion
blossoms would not be able to blow away creating more dandelions for bees and other insects to
consume. This gives the organisms less nectar and it may cause death because the lack of
resources for them to consume in that area. Fields produce more wind currents compared to
parking lots because its an open space, with more trees. Since there are not a lot of interferences
with the fields, wind picks up grass pollens and spreads it throughout the fields making the fields
richer and healthier. This allows the primary consumers to eat the grass and be healthy. Causing
the entire food chain to be healthy. Meadows compared to fields, have a bit more wind due to the
trees and bushes that compose the ecosystem. The winds help for cooling birds and insects. Wind
also affects plants throughout their growth. Slight winds help the plants grow sturdier, so other
consumers can benefit from it. Winds in forests are very high due to the number of trees. Due to
more wind, it helps animals such as birds to fly without much effort and the same with butterfly s.
Without wind in forests animals that fly tend to struggle a lot because it does not have wind
support. Rock or stone is a natural substance.

Plagiarism, Cheating And Academic Standards
1.Introduction
The demonstration of showing the thoughts of others as your own without referencing known as
plagiarism. This is cheating and degrades academic standards. One of the most important
contributing factors that make plagiarism a worldwide problem is the simple access to web assets,
where all the investigative papers and reports are effectively accessible. It has been evaluated that
plagiarism has always been an area of interest for both administrators and teachers when they want
efforts of students in order to reflect the learning consequences. On the other hand, the web is
anything but difficult to access to practically boundless composed material on each possible
subject, suspicion of understudy copying has started to influence educators at all levels with the

of greater image of individual integrity at the heart of the plagiarism debate. A link between their

Rationalization As The Development Of Western Society And...
Rationalization is a process whereby traditional meanings, values and the mode of thought are
replaced by modern rational ones. Weber sees the development of rationalization as the
development of Western society and modern culture. Individuals become more concerned with
achieving materialistic goals by rational means and by calculating and weighing up all the possible
outcomes. In addition to rationalization, Weber also saw the disenchantment of the world, in which
science and rationality are more highly valued than belief. It is the devaluation of mysticism and the
cultural rationalization, mainly apparent in modern Western societies. Through this rationalization
process, Weber sees an increasing trend towards secularization, bureaucratization and
modernization. For Weber, traditional society was one where the world remains a great enchanted
garden . (The University of Winchester, 2014) He regarded these traditional forms as irrational or
at least non rational. This is because they rely on superstition and magic as a way of explaining the
social world and have no methodical forms of development, but are based on emotions, feelings and
personal insights. The view that rationalization leads to an increasing trend towards secularization
is supported by Wilson (1966), who defines this concept as a process in which religious ways of
thinking, practices and institutions lose significance in modernity. This can be seen in statistics on
church attendance. According to Human

Essay on Dr. Daedalus, Lauren Slater essay which depicts...
Human Into Animals
There are humans in the world that strive to become more animal like. Whether they just act like
ones, or have surgical operations to look more like one, they try to become more like an animal.
In her essay, Dr. Daedalus, Lauren Slater suggests that by altering our physical selves to emulate
something more animal, our brains, and possibly even our souls, we become somehow more
animal as well. She feels that we transform, and become more animal like every time we alter our
body into the form of an animal. Slater is correct to point out that when we change our self to look
more like animals we might have more in physical features in common with them, but she fails to
look at how our identities do not change. We look... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She straightforward states the assumption that we are different from animals because we have
this core is wrong. The reasoning is that we know that scientifically there is no center to the brain
where everything happens and all of our thoughts join. Each part works on its own; there is no
centralized part in the brain. We know enough about the brain for scientists to say that there is no
core of the brain where we can find the little me resides. Keeping all this in mind, we can base the
idea that when our bodies change, and we become more animal like, our mentality is affected
too. We might think we more like a lizard if we scale our skin, therefore we would act more like
a lizard. The problem is we think we re the lizard, but our brain doesn t become like a lizard s.
We don t start thinking like a lizard. Most importantly, we don t lose our meme; the meme isn t
even somewhat changed. We only show how versatile our power of meme is.
When we add a new part to our body, or change it is some form, our brain adopts to those
changes. Lauren Slater basis her idea on that we change who we are when our brain adapts these
new changes. She feels that when we get a procedure one on ourselves to look more like an
animal; we are in fact going to become a little more like that animal. Slater quotes Joe Rosen in
her essay, if I were to attach a third thumb, your brain would map it, absolutely. Our bodies change

Covert Action is any activity performed by U.S. government entities with the intent to influence

crucial to any covert action carried out by the U.S. government. However, as one can tell by the

circles of Hellthe sinners are being justly punished for their sins, but there are a couple where the
punishment does not correlate with the sins committed. In the first circle of Hell, which is
Limbo , is where non christians and people who weren t baptized are eternally punished living in
a castle away from God. This is a just punishment because they hadn t had God in their lives on
earth. In the second circle of Hell, Lust , people who were lustful are punished by being eternally
blown around in violent storms. This makes sense because it symbolizes their emotions being
calm. In the third circle of Hell, Gluttony , is where those who indulge themselves on earth are
punished by Cerberus, a worm monster, and they live forever in an icy rain and can t see the
others around them. This makes sense because they only care about themselves. In the fourth
circle of Hell, Greed , people who were greedy are punished by having to roll rocks around. This
however does not make sense because what do rocks have to do with greed? In the fifth circle of
Hell, Anger , is where people who were angry are punished by being trapped in a big river called
styx, fighting each other to get to the top. This punishment too is one that they must face for an
eternity. In the sixth circle of Hell, Heresy , is where people who are guilty of committing
heresy go. They are punished by being kept in flaming tombs for eternity. In the seventh circle of
Hell, Violence consists of three parts or rings. The outer ring is one where murderers can be
found as well as those who caused any damage to property or people. In this one is punished by
being sunk into a fiery boiling river of blood. I believe that this makes sense because of those
they have caused harm to, being the blood in which they are drowning or being sunk in. In the
middle ring is where suicides are. These suicides are being punished by being turned into trees as
well as bushes. They

Part One: Customer Satisfaction
2.1.1Introduction to Customer Satisfaction:
Customer Satisfaction is one of the main topics rises recently. Before years there was a revelation
of a customer service to concentrate on customer, to treat with him in a better way, to please and
fulfill his demands of the customer. In order to achieve that, researchers analyzed the customer
population then took random samples and after that generalized the results and came with
procedures to treat and please the customers. The first thing is spark in the satisfaction of the
customer concept added to the private sector, later applied to the other sectors.
Customer satisfaction represents a set of business processes touching on all aspects of ... Show more

Cheefy defined it as the extent to which a customers expectations of product quality, service quality,
and price are met.
The reality of Customer Satisfaction is in the eyes of the beholder the customer. And all about how
to meet the expectation of those customers and even exceeding those expectations.
According to Business Dictionary definition it is the degree of satisfaction provided by the good or
service of a company as measured by the number of repeat customers.
Or it is the number of customers or percentage of total customers, whose reported experience with
a firm, its products, or its services (ratings) exceeds specified satisfaction goals. (Paul W. and
others, 2010).
Customer satisfaction can be experienced in a variety of situations and connected to both goods and
services. It is a highly personal assessment that is greatly affected by customer expectations.
Satisfaction also is based on the customer s experience of both contacts with the organization and
personal outcomes.
Some researchers define a satisfied customer within the private sector as one who receives
significant added value to his/her bottom line a definition that may apply just as well to public
services. (Cengiz,

The Label Switching And Mpls Is A Technique That Enables...
Multiprotocol label switching or MPLS is a technique that enables the labeling of packets in
such a way that facilitates network traffic and the tracking of that packet across different routers
along a network. As a technique, moreover, it is differentiated from a specific service, so that in
essence MPLS can be utilized in the delivery of different kinds of services, including virtual
private networks on IP, Ethernet, and optics based services. The fundamental idea is that
information about a packet in a network is saved in a kind of tag or label, known as the FEC or
the forwarding equivalence class. This FEC is a sequence of bits that is attached to the packet.
From there, routers within a network access a lookup table whenever it handles a packet, and that
lookup table contains information on how to deal with the packet based on its FEC. This is a boost
for network efficiency because in traditional IP networks, the routerhas to do an analysis of the
packet header, and therefore make decisions on how to deal with the packet after an analysis step.
This is a bottleneck, because the decision on what to do with the packet is done by each and every
router. What happens is that the packet, once within the network, is tagged, and that label
corresponds to an action in the lookup table or index, from which the table then goes on to give the
packet a fresh FEC. The distinction power that this technique provides for different kinds of packets
allows MPLS implementations to then

Secret Fear Phobias Analysis
These types of fears often put someone in the fight or flight response. In the video, Secret Fears:
Phobias produced by Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Ottawa, ON, 1998, they begin by
saying in past times, people were ashamed of having phobias because it made them seem weak.
They first focus on Ron s story. Ron works in a very large building with seventeen floors. He takes
the stairs each day due to his irrational fearof elevators. They cut to a woman, Trish, who admits
her fear of planes by saying, The minute they close the doors my heart starts to pound. I m hyper
vigilant. I watch the engines, I listen to the noise, you know, everything that happens I m afraid
something major will happen. Phobias do not just affect the mind, they... Show more content on

People with GAD constantly worry about things in their life. This however, is not just a hassle, it
affects their bodies and minds in various ways. Ranna Parekh. MD says, This ongoing worry and
tension may be accompanied by physical symptoms, such as restlessness, feeling on edge or easily
fatigued, difficulty concentrating, muscle tension or problems sleeping. This type is typically
genetic, meaning that it is passed on throughout time within family history. A person with
Generalized Anxiety Disorder is also more prone to depression, bipolar disorder, and substance
abuse. (Davies, Matthew N., et al. Generalised Anxiety Disorder A Twin Study Of Genetic
Architecture, Genome Wide Association And Differential Gene Expression. Plos ONE 10.8
(2015): 1 15. Academic Search Complete. Web. 2 Dec. 2016.) In the documentary Secret Fears,
David Barlow. Ph.d tells the audience, All of our patients with severe anxiety disorders or
severe emotional disorders can tell us on the one hand, this is irrational. I know there s nothing
to be afraid of. I know there s no reason to be this depressed. I know there s no reason to have
these thoughts, they re totally irrational but on the other hand when I m having them they
dominate my life. I really am afraid. (Suzuki) The reasoning for this is due to increased
sensitivity. A person will be more upset or feeling down which will lead them to search for other
outlets such as drugs to escape their feelings. (Davies) They feel that they have no control and
look for anything they can to gain the control back. Generalized anxiety disorder can affect people
physically as well as mentally and are more common than people would

Analysis Of The Book Fist Stick Knife Gun By Geoffrey...
Geoffrey Canada pens a book that is part biography, part social view, a very thoughtful look into
inner city violence and the rules surrounding it. The book describes how his personal history
with violence influenced his work with youth and the programs that he has started to support
them. Geoffrey Canada describes the progression of violence that had happened in his lifetime.
He also points out that there is a disturbing difference between what the streets were like in the
1960s compared to those of today. As great storyteller, Geoffrey Canada is thoroughly
convincing. His Book Fist Stick Knife Gun, is a great explanation of violence and poverty in
late 20th century here in America s inner cities. Of how he changed from a timid and frightened
child into a young man who could hold his own in a fight in the streets, is written in a believable
way. Canada actually learned the way of the streets because he grew up in the streets. All of his
experiences first started when he was a child when he and his friends used their fists to settle
disputes and to gain a reputation that would bring respect from the other kids in the
neighborhood. At times, those disputes would escalate with other weapons like a knife. Having
grown up in the South Bronx in the 1960s, Mr. Canada brings you to a time when violence was
ever present but guns were not. At that time there were a very few adult men in the neighborhood,
and the police were of very little assistance. Not even old enough

A Summary Of The Murjeras Muralism
The United States is a country built upon freedom but the density of people shaped the country.
The immigrants inspired by the tales of the American Experience soon found those tales were
falsely perceived. People of color battled against discrimination and the lack of equality upon
arriving to the United States. Artists such as Kristine Yuki Aono, Romare Bearden
, and the Mujeras
Muralists expresses the emotions their culture experienced, living in the United States through their
artwork. The art installation Relics from Camp created by Aono displays twelve boxes with
artifacts from a different internment camp. In Bearden s collage artwork called The Prevalence of
Ritual, he intends to compare the similarities between black and white by combining pictures that
relates to humans. The Murjeras Muralistas consists of Graciela Carillo, Consuelo Mendez, Irene
Perez, and Patricia Rodriguez, who painted the mural Latinoamerica to convey the message of who
they were and where they came from. The three works of art represents the three different cultures
living in the United States, but share the same ideals of oppression. The Japanese American
community suffers from embarrassment, fear, and angry due to their experiences in the World War
II internment camps. World War II is a time of great repression for the Japanese American families,
by relieving them of their basic rights. Aono visits ten internment camps to collect dirt and other
artifacts from this atrocious time. Family,

The Mexican-American Culture
The culture of the Mexican people has been resilient in Southern California. The Mexican culture is
a culture of pride, courage, and humbleness that is exhibited at LA Plaza De Cultura Y Artes. This
resilient culture was exhibited during the tumultuous times of the early 20th century throughout
Southern California. The early 20th century specifically the twenty s through the forties was a
dangerous period as many Mexican Americans experienced levels of racial discrimination that went
against their rights of being American citizens. Incidents range from forced cultural assimilation,
beating, and lynchings, to mass illegal deportations. Still, after all these injustices Mexican
Americans responded by standing up and not letting racism and fear... Show more content on

For example, in 1942 after the death of a young male Latino in Los Angeles, a historical trial
occurred that denied the right of a fair trial for numerous Mexican Americans. According to The
Sleepy Lagoon Murder Case: Race Discrimination and Mexican American Rights, The Sleepy
Lagoon Murder case was where seventeen young Mexican origin men and boys were unfairly
convicted for the murder of another Mexican American man on the eastside of Los Angeles
(Bernstein, 126). The writer of the book Mark Weitz argues in this review, The defendants were
denied a fair trial and convicted without adequate evidence. And that a pervasive fear of
immigrant outsiders, patriotic wartime fervor, and the media helped impede justice. (Bernstein,
126). Shortly, after this incident occurred another incident of anti Mexican sentiment and
wartime fervor. This incident is known as the Zoot Suit Riots. In 1943, many servicemen were
stationed in Mexican American neighborhoods in Los Angeles. Some these servicemen did not
like the attire that some of these Mexican Americans were wearing. They were dressed in a Zoot
Suit, which as the Smithsonian, states were seen as, unpatriotic to servicemen because of the
flashy appearance (Gregory, 13). They were also seen as unpatriotic also because war rations
had been in effect for items such as fabric and these suits were huge and made of all fabric. So, in
1943 over a series of days, thousands of servicemen rioted and attacked any young Latino male they
encountered. After the riots were over many white press outlets celebrated the attacks they saw as
justified and the Los Angeles city council passed an ordinance to make wearing Zoot Suits illegal.
A racial intolerance sentiment caused many Mexican Americans to become afraid, but they never
let fear from limiting them. Over the next two

Analysis Of Hey Boo, By Harper Lee
Harper Lee, the author of To Kill a Mockingbird, never expected her novel to be as successful as it
was and is. Her success from the novel did not come so easily. Lee finally met with a publisher
and editor, Tay Hohoff, in New York after receiving a number of rejection letters in 1957. While
living in New York, Harper Lee s lifelong friends, the Brown s, had faith in her success and
presented her with enough money to take a year off from work to write a literary phenomenon
called To Kill a Mockingbird. The video Hey Boo revealed the meaningful purpose behind the
novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, and demonstrated the major influences it had on the people s and
nation s internal moralities and views during the 1960 s. This film illustrates the

Nurse Driven, Sleep Hygiene Protocol, A Source Of Anxiety...
The inability to sleep is a source of anxiety and stress for patients in the intensive care unit (ICU);
this inability can lead to cardiorespiratory disturbances, immune system dysfunction, impaired
wound healing, hormonal and metabolic imbalances, cognitive changes, and delirium. Through the
use of quiet times and nursing actions that encourage sleep, or, sleep hygiene bundles, nurses can
assist in improving sleep quality in the ICU. These bundles include noise and light reduction,
scheduling routine procedures outside of reserved sleep times, the use of earplugs and eye masks,
and the grouping of nursing care activities to minimize sleep interruptions. The aim of this proposal,
therefore, will be to implement a nursedriven, sleep hygiene protocol, in order to improve patient
care by promoting quality sleep in ICU patients. Barriers to implementation include staff resistance
to the concept, concerns regarding patient care during sleep times and difficulties in coordinating
care with other units. Studies used to gather information for this proposal were published between
the years of 2011 and 2016 and were found in several databases: Academic Search Complete,
Medline, and OVID Journals.

Dealing with Social Conflicts in the Military
Conflict is an inevitable whenever people whether close friends, family members, co workers or
romantic partners disagree about their perceptions, desires, ideas or values. Regardless of the
substance of the disagreement, conflict arouses strong feelings. The population s tolerance for
reinterpretation of institutional values, beliefs, norms and ethics rose significantly due to
significant changes in American social norms in the 20th Century. This tolerance, in conjunction
with a transition to the primacy of personal rights over institutional needs has resulted in a society
where the good of the many has become subordinated to the good of a few. It has been said that if
society as a whole were more like the militaryin this regard,... Show more content on

Many on each side of the issue cite the alleged physical and mental differences between males and
females, the effect of the presence of the opposite sex on the battlefield, and the traditional view of
male soldiers as arguments both for and against women being employed as soldiers under combat
situations. Since very few countries employ a fully integrated military, there are few references
available to prove or disprove the arguments. Although women are recruited to serve in the military
in most countries, only a few countries permit women to fill active combat roles.
Conflict Resolution In the early 1990s, Congress lifted the ban on women flying combat aircraft
and serving on combat ships than in January 1994, informed by the report of the Presidential
Commission on the Assignment of Women to the Armed Forces, then Secretary of Defense Les
Aspin established the current DoD assignment policy for women in the military with a
memorandum that stated that personnel can be assigned to all positions for which they are

Divorce and Its Impact on Cpuples and Children Essay
The term divorce is a legal term that denotes the separation of two individuals in a legal manner
that was once connected to each other as a result of marriage. Divorce can be a lifetime
separation between couples and can even be a limited time separation between couples. Recently,
the world has witnessed a surge in the number of divorces taking place and the occurrence of this
event is even at its peak in the United States. The Center for Disease Control and Prevention
reported during the period of 2011, that out of every 1000 individuals, almost 3.6 individuals have
experienced divorce(cdc.gov, 2013). Divorce does not only impact the couples who are being
separated, it even impacts the children of the couples. Much emphasis has been... Show more

Divorces mostly occur as a result of thrifts between the couples and due to this their
psychological wellbeing is hampered and when psychological wellbeing of individuals is
compromised, it is more likely that the couples fail to focus on their work which may result in
financial issues. Divorce may mitigate these psychological issues and the couples may be able to
focus on their work in a better manner and this may eventually result in better financial rewards
attained from high performance. It is not necessary that children are always negatively impacted
by a divorce. Divorce as stated again and again mostly occur due to frugalities between parents and
these frugalities may result in domestic abuse or domestic violence experienced by children. A
divorce resulting due to case of domestic violence may favorably impact the children, since
children may be able to avoid these abuses. Secondly when parents are involved in fighting with
each other, they tend to give up on their bonding with their children. Divorces can be a solution, as
well as bonding between parents and children may increase as a result of divorce because after a
divorce parents will have more time to spend with their children instead of fighting with each
other.Although, couples take the option of divorce after their dissatisfaction with their marriage but

Obama K-12 Education Act Analysis
On Tuesday president Obama signed the new K 12 education law effectively ending all heavy
involvement in public schools and gives the authority to the states local school districts. He stated
that he does not just want to do this because it is going to be good for the students, community,
and the economy but rater because it is for the essence of what we are all about as Americans.
``There is nothing more essential to living up to the ideals of this notion than to make sure every
child is able to live up to their god given potential`` Obama said this during the signing ceremony at
the white house, The Every Student Succeeds Act received a very strong bipartisan support from
both houses of congress. This act directly effects almost 50 million students and 3.4 million
teachers in the nations over 100,000 public schools. The fact that both republicans and Democrats
have been bickering over the subject for more than eight years and never reached an agreement on
ow they should balance federalism and accountability, but thanks to the chairman of the senate
education panel and ranking democrat senator Lamar Alexander alongside senator patty Murray

Racism In Friday Night Lights
Racism was a consistent theme throughout the entirety of Friday Night Lights (2015) and was
intertwined with many of the issues and concepts discussed here. Odessa held onto its racial
ideologies for much longer than it should have, even with Federal lawsuits against them
(Bissinger, 2015; pg. 107 Coakley, 2015; pg. 227). These beliefs were deeply held and acted
upon that they still were intact even after the desegregation of the schools. The Southside of
Odessa had been and continued to be classified as the low income and minority side of town
where the blacks and Hispanics lived, while the East side was for the wealthy and white citizens.
The railroad tracks that ran through the heart of town served as the divider for this segregation,
or as Lanita Akins called it: The American version of the Berlin Wall (Bissinger, 2015; pg. 99).
The physical separation wasn t the only racial issue that Odessa had. Blacks and Hispanics were
both quite underrepresented in Permian High, only making up about 31% of the student body
(Bissinger, 2015; pg. 175). The black population of Odessa seemed to get the blunt end of the
racial stigma though, which is especially seen at the beginning of chapter 5 with the use and
explanation of why some Odessans used the word... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was also common for Texas high school football as a whole. These behaviors were seen both off
and on the field and included extreme play against the opposing team, drinking, drug use, fighting,
hubris, and institutional corruption (Bissinger, 2015 Coakley, 2015). Off field behavior included
mainly drinking and getting into fights, though the citizens of Odessa even went as far as shooting
a gun inside a bar at one point. The player s drinking had become bad enough that an anonymous
letter frowning upon that behavior found its way into their lockers while they were in the playoffs
(Bissinger, 2015; pgs.

Why Do You Leave A Team After Being Together Since Second...
Learn From The Past, Gain From The Future Sometimes it s hard to imagine ever abandoning
people that mean so much to you. Majority of the time when someone or something leaves for an
uncertain reason there is a lot of talk about it. In my case people thought I was arrogant or
thought less of them, but that was not the case. I begged for this for three years, and about a
year ago in July I finally got the chance; the chance to try new things and to put myself out there.
Leaving my old team was where it all had to begin in order to make my way to Jersey United, but
how do you leave a team after being together since second grade? The past five years I played
soccer for a team called the Hanover Blue Tornados which is a recreational travel... Show more

It was average game day on Sunday in Denville, the team and I did our typical lap around the
field and stretched to prepare for the game. Three out of the fifteen of us had concussions, so we
brought up two of the younger girls in the flight below us. Already my nerves were bouncing all
over the place. We re playing Denville, we have barely enough players, and we have two weak
younger players as subs...great, I thought to myself as I watched Deville volley back and forth
flawlessly. I started to think the game that hadn t even started yet was over, we were going to
lose. Before the referees call for kick off, Mr. Hall ordered a group huddle. He gave us our
positions and told us to take the field, but as I was running out he called me back over. I trotted
over and nodded as if saying what s up. I want you to play more of a midfield left defender, he
explained, I want you to be right with the left mid, and if the girl gets past you Cate will take
care of her. I would rather you stay up then stay back. Before I got a chance to say how absurd
that is the referee called for kick off, so I just gave an uncertain nod and jogged to my position.
Thinking about what my coach had just said to me I actually chuckled a little bit. What is the
point of having me play defense if I m practically playing another left mid, I thought, Like that
doesn t even make sense. Whatever! I knew I wasn t going to listen because then

  • 2. Accountability Of The Army Is A Integral Part Of Discipline Accountability in the army is another integral part of Discipline, Accountability as defined should be understood as responsibility plain and simple. When the army asks a soldier, what is your accountability? It is merely asking, who or what are you responsible for? It is the responsibility of the service member to have within himself the desire to care for anything or anyone that is around him or under his supervision. The great challenge that the army presents to all soldiers is for them to understand and never forget, is that accountability is never given or in other words it is not forced to be received, it is an offer is an invitation to remember and to withhold at all times. By nature, all soldiers struggle with daily written and memorized tasks, routines that seem to become tedious and nerve breaking at times, and the definition of accountability at many times seem to diminish in our minds from I need to take care of everything and everyone around me to did I forget something that benefits myself . Three important words that easily identify a soldier and that it should make him different from the majority of societies law breakers, irresponsible, unorganized, immature, selfish, arrogant and pessimists individuals that consider themselves owners of the land that walk on it but are never willing to lift a finger for the poor, the needy and the weak. These three words are Discipline, Obedience and accountability. When a soldier truly have these in his person, not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. History Of The Stonewall Riots Barely minutes after 3 AM on June 28th 1969, what had been a police raid on a known LGBT club located in New York, known as the Stonewall Inn turned violent. Outside, hundreds of protesters and sympathizers began rioting against the sudden police force. While the NYPD had been justified in closing down the club, the events which would follow over the next six days would go on to spark revolution, and establish the LGBTmovement for gaycivil rights. It is inevitably because of these protests that the LGBT community has the rights and freedom that they have today. However, the Stonewall Riots are not as recognized as a copious amount of protests and revolts, and are a severely underrated historical event, which resulted in the removal of... Shortly after this act, practicing sexual deviants enlisted within the U.S Civil Service had been immediately fired after an investigation consisting of 192 suspects, most of which lost their posts after the accusations. During this time, the ownership of an alcohol license was immensely important, and could be revoked upon recognition that the bar was disorderly . Up until the year 1967, selling alcohol to homosexuals could result in a bar being deemed disorderly, thus closing it down. While the state of New York overturned this law, a multitude of other states such as Miami maintained them, hence prohibiting the liquor licenses to, knowingly sell to, serve to or allow consumption of alcoholic beverages by a homosexual person, lesbian or pervert ... or to knowingly allow two or more persons who are homosexuals, lesbians or perverts to remain in his place of business . However, the removal of this law in New York did not stop the constant raids on rumoured gay bars and clubs, resulting in the abolishment of these businesses alcohol licenses, and the arrest of countless individuals found inside. As leaders, we need to be aware of what the Battle of Midway brought to the fight in the pacific and what we learned. The Battle We are actively preparing to greet our expected visitors with the kind of reception they deserve (Admiral Chester W. Nimitz, Commander in Chief, U.S. Pacific Fleet 29May1942). The battle of Midway was fought through the fourth and seventh of June 1942, in the central pacific island of Midway. The battle is considered one of the biggest decisive points of the Second World War taking place in the Pacific. The fight was mainly between the Americans and the Japanese. The Japanese were in the offensive takin up islands and land trough out the pacific and Asia. Japan was on the hunt to take midway since it was strategically located to ambush the Americans. • 6. Descriptive Essay About Rain The cold sensation comes again, letting off a warning of the impending danger that was soon to come. My insides churn, the things I had seen beforehand were burned into my memory, but for now I had to find a way to survive, to escape this mad mess I had got myself into... The rain was particularly heavy today, the clouds a gray cluster of mess. I look at my beaten down leather watch, it s 5:30, the time we were supposed to meet up. With a sigh, I grabbed my transparent umbrella and walked out my front door. I had agreed to meet up with friends to work on schoolwork, not the most fitting weekend but staying at home alone didn t seem much appealing either. The thunder shook the sky, as if letting off a warning, begging me to go back. The double story house greets me with an intimidating stare. It was a Victorian style house, an old shabby, gothic building. That enough was an unpleasant sight in all the rain. With a sigh, I swing the door open, taking note of the lack of a lock on the door as I walked in. My friends all greet me with smiles that were a bit too excited for my liking. As I look around, If there was one thing the house was full of, it was photos. They were everywhere, and for a strange reason, they were all in a black and white monochrome, full of different people. While the rest of the group struck a conversation, I examined the house. The walls were cleanly striped, the only two colours being a ghostly brown and a pale white. The carpet was rugged and dusty, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ruling from 1662 to 1722 he was also one of the longest ruling emperors in Chinese history and for that matter the world. K ang hsi brought China to long term stability and relative wealth after years of war and chaos. Jonathan Spence writes from the eyes of K ang hsi getting his information from K ang hsi s own writings. Though a little biased towards himself this book still provides important insight into his mind. Emperor K ang hsi tried to live forever through his children. He had 56 children all together but only one with his first wife, who later took over the thrown. The Emperor was very protective of his sons and made sure they got everything they wanted. He would often kill someone that threatened the chance of a power overthrow. He once killed three cooks and several servant boys for suspicion of homosexual activity with his son Yin jeng. At the end of K ang hsi s life, he became very senile and distant from reality and the Chinese people. Even though Spence goes into great detail about Emperor K ang hsi s life than any history book could have. He does this by emphasizing his writings and not other sources. The downfall to this is he does not go into great detail about many of the facts or important historical events. By this time China had foreign intervention and influence; Spence did not address any of the foreign policies K ang hsi made during his reign. Spence only wrote one paragraph about the confrontations with Russia, but the real even actually lasted over several decades. • 10. Roseanne Barr s Focus On Reality In The 90s Focusing on Reality: The 90s Reality ruled the 1990s. It ranged from a spike in reality based entertainment, such as MTV s Real World, to the airing of the very real events of the Gulf War on network television (The 90s). After a decade of excess and denial in the eighties, the American people longed for truth. The 1990s was a time when the line between legitimate news and entertainment was blurred (The 90s). During this time, news events started to be shown live. The U.S. Military chose to show the Gulf War on televisionin order to establish dominance not only among their people, but also among world powers (The 90s). She wasn t a star because she was rich, or because she had it all together . She was a star because she was real. Roseanne Barr was the main character of a TV series called Roseanne ( Barr, Roseanne). She won an emmy for her character and was well known for her outspoken opinions ( Barr, Roseanne ). Her show was focused on a working class family. It was a blue collar situation comedy (Mayerle, Judine). This is why it was able to connect with so many people. The plot for Roseanne evolved out of cultural issues and it echoed the most relevant of the American people s thoughts (Mayerle, Judine). Although the show was extremely popular, producers were not nearly as fond of it. When the show reached number one, ABC sent the cast and crew a cake as opposed to the other extremely extravagant gifts that they sent to other shows that peaked at number 1 (The 90s). The act was a mix of two types of comedy: presentational and representational (Mayerle, Judine). This blend was popular among viewers. Roseanne was very vocal and held many strong opinions about women s rights (Mayerle, Judine). Roseanne s role reflected the growing influence of women in the television community (Mayerle, Judine). Roseanne used her platform to give a voice to the middle, working class people. She sent the message to the American public that a stereotypical, idealized American family was overrated. She expressed her disillusionment through comedy. She wove humor and political commentary together to reach as large and diverse an audience as possible. Everything was ridiculed on her show, and she regularly skewered issues that the country viewed as sacred. Her show expressed the disillusionment of viewers throughout the United States. However the roots of 3D printing can be traced back to 1986 when the first patent was issued to Charles Hull who invented his machine in 1983, and he called it stereolithography and he later went on to co found 3D system Corporation, which created the first 3D printer. Many other companies have since then developed 3D printers for commercial applications. 3D printing or Additive Manufacturing is a process that takes digital input in the form of Computer Aided Design (CAD) model and creates solid, three dimensional parts through an additive, layer by layer process. Included in what could be considered a handbook, are several suggestions on how to handle principalities and a large part of the suggestions take into consideration the role of the people and what that means to the king s ruling. Machiavelli s The Prince, suggests that attaining glory as a king lies in establishing a division between ruler and citizens. To have glory means to have done something worth of praise and respect. The text suggests a ruler must present himself as unpredictable Thus [Castille] has always plotted and achieved great things which have never failed to keep his subjects in a state of suspense and amazement ... He might be chosen by the nobles, who look for a mouthpiece that will guarantee the elite control of the principality, or by the common people themselves, looking for a savoir that will keep in touch with his roots and not turn back on the people who elected him. However, a ruler will run into problems regardless of how he gains control if he does not create the fine line between himself and the people. A man who becomes ruler through the help of the nobles will find it harder to maintain his power than on who becomes ruler through the help of the people, because he is surrounded by many men who consider that they are his equals, and therefore he cannot give them orders or deal with them as he would wish (34). A distinction between power has to be implemented by the ruler as soon as he s placed into power or he runs the risk of being over taken by the very people who placed him in that position. Once the ruler is considered an equal by more than a handful of close people, he is easier to discredit and his position is no longer as highly respected. Machiavelli spends a considerable portion of his book, The Prince, explaining how the people of the state are an important factor in the success of the ruler, success in this case meaning glory for the king. By slowly but not harshly starting a separation of king and people, a ruler creates the line of unattainability but respect that will not allow for people to even dream of reaching his level of ... • 13. Philosophies Of Sister Carrie By Theodore Dreiser Austin Ricco
Professor Sloan
American Realism
11/20/16 Philosophies of Sister Carrie
There are few writers that could create a body of work that encompasses as many concepts as Theodore Dreiser s Sister Carrie. His novel follows the life and times of Carrie, a country bell of sorts who abandons her way of life in favor of a city lifestyle. Through through Carries progress, Dreiser embodies many philosophies of intelligence, experience, and personal growth. Many great philosophers have touched subjects that are apparent in Dreiser s work. Sister Carrie epitomizes many ideas defined by great thinkers such as Eleanor Roosevelt, Lev S. Vygotsky, and Aristotle. Eleanor Roosevelt once said that Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people. Dreiser clearly hoped to convey a similar message in this novel. At the beginning of Carrie s journey she converses with a man named Chas. H. Drouet And so this is your first visit to Chicago, he observed. All the time she was conscious of certain features out of the side of her eye. Flush, colorful cheeks, a light mustache, a gray fedora hat. She now turned and looked upon him in full, the instincts of self protection and coquetry mingling confusedly in her brain. I didn t say that, she said. Oh, he answered in a very pleasing way and with an assumed air of mistake. I thought you did. It becomes very apparent that Carrie involves herself in people; however we get a sense of her ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Walter B. Miller s Focal Concern Theory Focal concerns is a theory focuses on the worries of delinquent behaviors. It was presented by Walter B. Miller in 1958. It is a pure cultural theory of gang delinquency specialized for the lower class. As Miller explained in a short article that he called Lower Class Culture as a Generating Milieu of Gang Delinquency, the lower class contributed to a distinct criminogenic culture. Biotic components are composed of all living things in contrast, abiotic components are composed of the non living parts of an environment. (Ms. Blackshaw) This essay is focused on the abiotic factors that influence an ecosystem. They are many abiotic factors affecting an ecosystem such as temperature, water, wind, sunlight, rocks, soil, and oxygen. However, the three abiotic factors that affect a parking lot, field, meadow, and forest the greatest are wind, rock and water. Wind is defined as the movement of the air. Even though, Wind is an abiotic factor it is still vital for various ecosystems. In parking lots, wind is non prominent due to the lack of trees compared to the forest, where it is chilly and windy. Some biotic factors that were recorded in the parking lot were, grass, tress, and dandelions. Dandelions are important for bees and other organisms that consume nectar. Without wind, the dandelion blossoms would not be able to blow away creating more dandelions for bees and other insects to consume. This gives the organisms less nectar and it may cause death because the lack of resources for them to consume in that area. Fields produce more wind currents compared to parking lots because its an open space, with more trees. Since there are not a lot of interferences with the fields, wind picks up grass pollens and spreads it throughout the fields making the fields richer and healthier. This allows the primary consumers to eat the grass and be healthy. Causing the entire food chain to be healthy. Meadows compared to fields, have a bit more wind due to the trees and bushes that compose the ecosystem. The winds help for cooling birds and insects. Wind also affects plants throughout their growth. Slight winds help the plants grow sturdier, so other consumers can benefit from it. Winds in forests are very high due to the number of trees. Due to more wind, it helps animals such as birds to fly without much effort and the same with butterfly s. Without wind in forests animals that fly tend to struggle a lot because it does not have wind support. Rock or stone is a natural substance. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 36. Rationalization As The Development Of Western Society And... Rationalization is a process whereby traditional meanings, values and the mode of thought are replaced by modern rational ones. Weber sees the development of rationalization as the development of Western society and modern culture. Individuals become more concerned with achieving materialistic goals by rational means and by calculating and weighing up all the possible outcomes. In addition to rationalization, Weber also saw the disenchantment of the world, in which science and rationality are more highly valued than belief. It is the devaluation of mysticism and the cultural rationalization, mainly apparent in modern Western societies. Through this rationalization process, Weber sees an increasing trend towards secularization, bureaucratization and modernization. For Weber, traditional society was one where the world remains a great enchanted garden . (The University of Winchester, 2014) He regarded these traditional forms as irrational or at least non rational. This is because they rely on superstition and magic as a way of explaining the social world and have no methodical forms of development, but are based on emotions, feelings and personal insights. The view that rationalization leads to an increasing trend towards secularization is supported by Wilson (1966), who defines this concept as a process in which religious ways of thinking, practices and institutions lose significance in modernity. This can be seen in statistics on church attendance. According to Human ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Whether they just act like ones, or have surgical operations to look more like one, they try to become more like an animal. In her essay, Dr. Daedalus, Lauren Slater suggests that by altering our physical selves to emulate something more animal, our brains, and possibly even our souls, we become somehow more animal as well. She feels that we transform, and become more animal like every time we alter our body into the form of an animal. The reasoning is that we know that scientifically there is no center to the brain where everything happens and all of our thoughts join. Each part works on its own; there is no centralized part in the brain. We know enough about the brain for scientists to say that there is no core of the brain where we can find the little me resides. Keeping all this in mind, we can base the idea that when our bodies change, and we become more animal like, our mentality is affected too. We might think we more like a lizard if we scale our skin, therefore we would act more like a lizard. The problem is we think we re the lizard, but our brain doesn t become like a lizard s. We don t start thinking like a lizard. Most importantly, we don t lose our meme; the meme isn t even somewhat changed. We only show how versatile our power of meme is. When we add a new part to our body, or change it is some form, our brain adopts to those changes. Lauren Slater basis her idea on that we change who we are when our brain adapts these new changes. She feels that when we get a procedure one on ourselves to look more like an animal; we are in fact going to become a little more like that animal. Yes, Dante does view some sins as being a lot worse than others but in my opinion this is because he can relate to the sins that they are being punished for. He also thinks that the sinners are not being punished accordingly in some of the circles of Hell. I believe myself that in most of the circles of Hellthe sinners are being justly punished for their sins, but there are a couple where the punishment does not correlate with the sins committed. In the first circle of Hell, which is Limbo , is where non christians and people who weren t baptized are eternally punished living in a castle away from God. This is a just punishment because they hadn t had God in their lives on earth. In the second circle of Hell, Lust , people who were lustful are punished by being eternally blown around in violent storms. This makes sense because it symbolizes their emotions being calm. In the third circle of Hell, Gluttony , is where those who indulge themselves on earth are punished by Cerberus, a worm monster, and they live forever in an icy rain and can t see the others around them. This makes sense because they only care about themselves. In the fourth circle of Hell, Greed , people who were greedy are punished by having to roll rocks around. This however does not make sense because what do rocks have to do with greed? In the fifth circle of Hell, Anger , is where people who were angry are punished by being trapped in a big river called styx, fighting each other to get to the top. This punishment too is one that they must face for an eternity. In the sixth circle of Hell, Heresy , is where people who are guilty of committing heresy go. They are punished by being kept in flaming tombs for eternity. In the seventh circle of Hell, Violence consists of three parts or rings. The outer ring is one where murderers can be found as well as those who caused any damage to property or people. In this one is punished by being sunk into a fiery boiling river of blood. • 42. The Label Switching And Mpls Is A Technique That Enables... Multiprotocol label switching or MPLS is a technique that enables the labeling of packets in such a way that facilitates network traffic and the tracking of that packet across different routers along a network. As a technique, moreover, it is differentiated from a specific service, so that in essence MPLS can be utilized in the delivery of different kinds of services, including virtual private networks on IP, Ethernet, and optics based services. The fundamental idea is that information about a packet in a network is saved in a kind of tag or label, known as the FEC or the forwarding equivalence class. This FEC is a sequence of bits that is attached to the packet. From there, routers within a network access a lookup table whenever it handles a packet, and that lookup table contains information on how to deal with the packet based on its FEC. This is a boost for network efficiency because in traditional IP networks, the routerhas to do an analysis of the packet header, and therefore make decisions on how to deal with the packet after an analysis step. This is a bottleneck, because the decision on what to do with the packet is done by each and every router. What happens is that the packet, once within the network, is tagged, and that label corresponds to an action in the lookup table or index, from which the table then goes on to give the packet a fresh FEC. The distinction power that this technique provides for different kinds of packets allows MPLS implementations to then ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Geoffrey Canada pens a book that is part biography, part social view, a very thoughtful look into inner city violence and the rules surrounding it. The book describes how his personal history with violence influenced his work with youth and the programs that he has started to support them. Geoffrey Canada describes the progression of violence that had happened in his lifetime. He also points out that there is a disturbing difference between what the streets were like in the 1960s compared to those of today. As great storyteller, Geoffrey Canada is thoroughly convincing. His Book Fist Stick Knife Gun, is a great explanation of violence and poverty in late 20th century here in America s inner cities. Of how he changed from a timid and frightened child into a young man who could hold his own in a fight in the streets, is written in a believable way. Canada actually learned the way of the streets because he grew up in the streets. All of his experiences first started when he was a child when he and his friends used their fists to settle disputes and to gain a reputation that would bring respect from the other kids in the neighborhood. At times, those disputes would escalate with other weapons like a knife. Having grown up in the South Bronx in the 1960s, Mr. Canada brings you to a time when violence was ever present but guns were not. At that time there were a very few adult men in the neighborhood, and the police were of very little assistance. Not even old enough ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
