From a performance management perspective, unified monitoring is most effective when there's a single source of actionable truth; it moves us away from diagnosis-related activities and toward collaborating on how to establish self-healing properties when that diagnosis is identified. Not only is this more cost-effective, it's a more "unifying" activity than troubleshooting.
A single pane of glass without an understanding of end-to-end IT service dependencies may just lead to more alert fatigue--little actionable information due to lack of effective correlation and root cause diagnosis. The results are long problem isolation and diagnosis cycles, resulting in poor user experience and increased IT operation costs
Watch this on-demand webinar where John Worthington, Director of Product Marketing at eG Innovations, demonstrates how you can achieve end-to-end performance monitoring of Microsoft IT services such as SharePoint, Exchange or custom .Net applications--even if those IT services incorporate non-Microsoft components or cloud services—and unify Microsoft SCOM at the same time.
In this on-demand webinar, you will:
- Learn how to automatically diagnose Microsoft applications like SharePoint, Exchange and .Net applications
- Understand why converged application and infrastructure monitoring can help accelerate isolating performance issues in heterogeneous environments
- Find out how to unify your System Center and Operations Manager console
How To Achieve Single Pane of Glass Performance Management: A Road Map to Uni...eG Innovations
Achieving a single pane of glass for performance management has been an elusive goal, as organizations are faced with an increasingly complex mix of legacy, virtual and cloud technologies, as well as emerging operating models and evolving roles/skillsets.
But, monitoring the performance of digital business services demands more than visibility to just the end user experience, applications, or the underlying infrastructure. It requires an ability to automatically anticipate and isolate performance issues across a heterogeneous mix of technologies, devices and suppliers.
Digital business services are how end users experience IT, and that is how IT services must be managed. Achieving unified performance management will continue to be elusive until all stakeholders are aligned with this approach.
Watch this presentation by John Worthington, Director of Product Marketing at eG innovations, where he details some best practices for achieving the single pane of glass vision.
In this webinar, you will:
• Learn how monitoring can be leveraged in continuous improvement and other transformative change programs
• See how converged APM/IPM can accelerate achievement of a single point of glass for performance monitoring
• Identify some best practices you can apply for achieving unified monitoring and improving organizational transparency
Why You Should Monitor IT Service Performance in Pre-Production EnvironmentsJohn Williams
An acknowledged good practice is to catch errors early in the service lifecycle, and shifting application and infrastructure monitoring to pre-production environments should be part of this strategy. But neither application performance management (APM), or infrastructure performance management (IPM) alone will successfully address and solve shift-left monitoring requirements. Supporting IT services, such as Citrix, often do not enable IT administrators to quickly isolate and address the causes of performance bottlenecks in testing, resulting in delays, re-work or increased deployment risk.
A converged APM/IPM solution can facilitate true root-cause analysis from an end-to-end IT service perspective, inclusive of both supporting and customer-facing IT services, as well as across multiple service lifecycle stages. In addition, by having all service team members share an easy-to-use interface that is tailored to each of their requirements minimizes learning curves, enhances operational efficiency and ensures user satisfaction by providing a production-grade monitor to IT staff that are working in staging environments.

Is such a single-pane-of-glass solution practical?
View this presentation and learn what a single-pane-of-glass monitoring solution can do and how it can help you simplify IT performance management. Debunk myths and uncover truths. Get answers to some common questions IT professionals have:
• Can a single-pane-of-glass monitoring solution replace all the tools you are using today?
• What are the typical characteristics of such a solution, and what are its pros and cons?
• How does your organization structure need to change to use such a tool?
• How difficult is it to implement a single-pane-of-glass tool?
Simplify and streamline IT monitoring. Become an IT performance superhero.
Application architectures have become more distributed, heterogeneous, and reliant on supporting infrastructure tiers. In 2018, we are seeing customers beginning to realize they need to expand their application performance monitoring (APM) capabilities to provide visibility of these supporting IT infrastructure components.
Application managers and IT teams are realizing that they need contextual visibility into how an infrastructure problem affects application performance, and seek APM solutions that can cross-correlate code-level and transaction-level performance with the health of the supporting physical, virtual, container and cloud infrastructures.
Watch this on-demand webinar and learn why this cross-correlation is so important and what's required to achieve it:
• Why monitoring applications in isolation will not be enough to monitor digital business service performance
• What's required for the enterprise to achieve total performance visibility
• How you can build an incremental plan for achieving transparency in digital service performance monitoring

Managing User Experience During Cloud MigrationseG Innovations
Competition in the digital services world is about managing the customer experience. The cloud is an operating model, and migrating workloads to the cloud involves much more than ‘lift & shift’. In fact, the heavy lifting of cloud migrations may be much more about people than technologies.
Managing customer expectations requires that the user experience be at least as good—if not better—after a cloud migration than it was before the migration took place. Customers really don’t care about the ‘cloud’ per se, they care about the outcomes that cloud-based services can provide.
Learn how you can manage customer expectations and leverage services-oriented monitoring as a program of work within a cloud migration.

Digital Workspaces and the Customer ExperienceeG Innovations
Customer experience is driving the digital age, and with the number of digital workers exploding the bar for assuring the digital user experience is quickly being raised — and not every enterprise is ready.
Fragmented monitoring approaches can make it all but impossible to connect the dots between complex, heterogeneous technical ecosystems, and the customer’s digital journey. The digital workspace can be a logical first step towards digital transformation but connecting the dots between ‘X-data’ (experience or XLA data) and ‘O-data’ (operational or SLA data) is not trivial.
In this webinar, John Worthington, Director of Customer Success at eG Innovations and an XLA Master, shows us:
-What role the Experience Level Agreement plays in the digital workspace
-The importance of unified, end-user-oriented views of digital workspace performance
-How converged APM/IPM can accelerate your customer experience journey
One of the most challenging tasks for a Citrix administrator is when a user calls in to the helpdesk complaining of a Citrix problem: logon is slow, session is getting disconnected, application launch is slow, etc. So, how does a Citrix admin go about solving such issues? A Citrix deployment has many infrastructure tiers and dependencies. Where do you initially focus your investigations, what do you analyze, and how do you triage?
George Spiers, Citrix CTP and EUC Architect, shares his real-world experience to help you learn the art of Citrix troubleshooting.

How to Obtain Peak Performance from Your Virtual EnvironmenteG Innovations
Virtualization introduces new dynamic dependencies – between physical machines and virtual machines (VMs) and between VMs. These dependencies make it quite complicated to monitor and manage virtualized infrastructures to ensure service performance and business continuity. For virtualization initiatives to be successful, it is critical that end-users see the same or better performance from virtual infrastructures as they had experienced with physical infrastructures.
The eG Monitor for Oracle VM correlates performance across the entire infrastructure, including Oracle VM Server for x86, guest VMs, and Oracle Linux. Automatic virtualization-aware root-cause diagnosis enables administrators to rapidly identify bottlenecks and to right-size their infrastructure for peak performance. In this webinar, you will learn how you can attain 360-degree visibility and pre-emptively detect and fix the root-cause of performance bottlenecks.

How to Get the Fastest Possible Citrix Logon Times?eG Innovations
Logon is a user's first interaction with the Citrix digital workspace service, and hence, a slow logon can influence a user's opinion of the service in a way that no other metric can. Therefore, logon time is the #1 key performance indicator (KPI) in Citrix environments.
Slow logons have an impact not just on user perception, but also on productivity. When each logon takes minutes — maybe on multiple systems — it results in lost work time and costs the business. So, it is imperative that logons be as quick and non-intrusive as possible. But how can we make this happen?
Learn some of the best practices for Citrix Logon time optimization.

How to Get the Fastest Possible Citrix Logon Times? Optimization Tips for ...eG Innovations
Logon is a user's first interaction with the Citrix digital workspace service, and hence, a slow logon can influence a user's opinion of the service in a way that no other metric can. Therefore, logon time is the #1 key performance indicator (KPI) in Citrix environments.
Slow logons have an impact not just on user perception, but also productivity. When each logon takes minutes — maybe on multiple systems — it results in lost work time and costs the business. So, it is imperative that logons be as quick and non-intrusive as possible. But how can we make this happen?
Learn some of the best practices for Citrix logon time optimization.

Observability Concepts EVERY Developer Should Know -- DeveloperWeek Europe.pdfPaige Cruz
Monitoring and observability aren’t traditionally found in software curriculums and many of us cobble this knowledge together from whatever vendor or ecosystem we were first introduced to and whatever is a part of your current company’s observability stack.
While the dev and ops silo continues to crumble….many organizations still relegate monitoring & observability as the purview of ops, infra and SRE teams. This is a mistake - achieving a highly observable system requires collaboration up and down the stack.
I, a former op, would like to extend an invitation to all application developers to join the observability party will share these foundational concepts to build on:
