Descriptive Essay On The Day Of A Dog
The turbulent winds smashed into my face as I struggled to pull my dog to the cover of the large oak
tree. All of a sudden, a large gust of wind lifted my dog into the air, snapping her old and tattered
leash! I screamed in horror as she was flung into the choppy river. Stunned, I could only watch in
panic as my dog s head bobbed up and down in the water, while she frenetically tried to keep herself
afloat...
Unaware of the dreadful events that were about to unfold later in the day, I rolled over in my cozy bed,
but was abruptly shaken out of my tranquil sleep by the sound of my dogs shrill, loud bark and the
slivers of light which pierced through my eyelids. Drowsily, I opened my eyes to see my little dog
anxiously circling around my rumpled bed. I looked out of the ever so slightly tinted window at the
rising sun and wondered to myself why I wake up early to walk my dog. I got out of bed and quickly
put on my clothes as I know that the deafening bark will prolong due to her urgency to ease herself. I
walked over to the window hoping for a sudden change in the weather so I could go back to sleep, as
my dog hates to go out on rainy days, but to my dismay it was still a sunny ... Show more content on

It was a pleasant and peaceful day at the park. The old oak trees which border the park muffled out the
sound of the bustling traffic from the busy city. The soothing splashing sounds, which came from the
calm river currents, furthermore silenced and literally camouflaged what was left of the busy city
noise. Which created a peaceful safe haven for many little creatures. Sporadically, calm winds blew
through the park, causing the thin carpet of leaves on the ground to flutter and dance up into the air. A
young squirrel was cautious as it scurried across the path. It stopped still in its path to look around,
before scampering up into a hole in an acorn

Who Is The Hero In Flowers In The Attic
We lived in the attic, Christopher, Cory, Carrie and Me. Now there are only Three. Cathy
Dollanganger. This quote by Cathy comes from the Lifetime movie called Flowers in the Attic. It was
released as a premiere on Lifetime on May 26, 2014. The movie is both a drama and a thriller. The
original movie of the same name was released in 1987 and they were both based on a 1969 book by
V.C. Andrews. The film follows the four Dollanganger children: 14 year old Chris (portrayed by
Mason Dye), 12 year old Cathy (portrayed by Kiernan Shipka), 5 year old Cory (portrayed by
Maxwell Kovach), and 5 year old Carrie (portrayed by Ava Telek). The film is told from the point of
view of Cathy and she is portrayed as the heroine and her grandmother is the villain. Her mother
progresses from a good guy to one of the bad guys during the course of the movie. In the late 1950 s,
the children lived happily in a small town in Pennsylvania with their parents, Christopher and Corrine
(portrayed by Heather Graham). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During their search for valuables, they discover that Corrine and Bart have left Foxworth Hall. Chris
overhears a conversation between the butler and a maid, and learns that Olivia has been leaving poison
to kill the mice in the attic and that their grandfather died seven months ago. Cathy shows Chris how
Cory s pet mouse has died after eating a piece of powdered doughnut, revealing that the poison was in
their food. Olivia then comes to take their key, and Chris restrains her long enough for Cathy and
Carrie to escape. Olivia chases after them, but panics due to her claustrophobia when Chris shuts the
door and turns the lights off. Olivia tells them that their mother was the one who poisoned them, not
her, but they ignore her and climb out the window, fleeing on

Dances With Wolves Essay
Dances With Wolves
No matter how you choose to categorize human beings, whether by race or religion, nationality or
gender, the resultant categories will display at least one immutable constant. Each group, no matter
how diverse their beliefs or how dissimilar their behaviors, will contain men of honest and peaceful
natures as well as men of divisive and violent natures. In the film Dances With Wolves, we are
exposed to two distinct categories of people inhabiting post civil war America, the white man and the
Native American. We, most likely, begin the movie with defined ideas as to which group contains
honest, peaceful men and which group contains violent and savage men. We are, however, exposed to
behaviors which are in opposition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But, compassionate, thinking white men are definitely in the minority in this film.
When John begins his Westward move, the crude, maniacal white man makes his reappearance. The
officer who gives John the information about getting to his new post appears to be downright insane
and apparently kills himself. The guide who accompanies John to his post is also no prize. John refers
to him as the foulest man alive (Dances with Wolves). This constant exposure to the violent and crude
men who make up the white race is an effective first step in shifting our sympathies. We want to
distance ourselves from these shameful characters. We don t want to identify with them.
Our first exposure to Indians is a mere suggestion of the expected stereotype. We are shown a skeleton
on the ground with an arrow stuck through it. So far so good. We are accustomed to that image.
Dunbar s guide states that Indians are nothin but thieves and beggars and that you only want to see
them when they are dead (Dances with Wolves). He, of course, is such an exemplary man that it s not
ironic at all to hear him degrading someone else.
From the beginning of the film we are given hints that Dunbar is not like his fellow ugly Americans.
When John and his guide arrive at the deserted Fort, the guide is in a hurry to be away. He is nervous
and uncomfortable and thinks nothing of leaving without accomplishing what he was sent to do.

Human Capital As A Solution To Marx’S Problems With...
Human Capital as a Solution to Marx s Problems with Capitalism
Karl Marx, a German economic philosopher, argues in The Communist Manifesto that a capitalist
society allows the bourgeoisie, the owning class, to exploit the proletariat, the working class. Marx
rejects the idea that unions are a possible fix for the problems created by capitalism, but does not
consider the possibility of increasing human capital to solve the problems he sees with capitalism. By
increasing their human capital, the proletariat would gain independence from the bourgeoisie and be
able to profit off their labor, and the elimination of private property would become problematic.
To begin, I will explain why Marx believes that unions are insufficient solutions ... Show more content

Now, I will discuss the strength of Marx s argument for why the formation of unions is not a strong
enough solution to the problem of the bourgeoisie s exploitation of the proletariat. I agree with Marx
that the proposed solution of creating unions would not eliminate the exploitation of the proletariat.
Workers would still receive less than the value they create with their labor. The bourgeoisie continues
to possess all the power because the proletariat depends on them for their survival. However, it
appears that there is another cause for an increase in wages that would be problematic with Marx s
views that the bourgeoisie are exploiting the proletariat and the only solution is to eliminate private
property. This factor may be human capital, the skills, knowledge and experiences each person
possesses. Throughout his discourse, Marx seems to only consider physical capital and not human
capital. When human capital is included in Marx s arguments, some flaws in Marx s views are
realized. Therefore, I shall explain how the concept of human capital could be problematic to Marx s
views. First, unlike physical capital, everyone owns human capital including both the bourgeoisie and
the proletariat. If everyone has

Chapter 15 Phobias Analysis
Of the many disorders presented in chapter 15, I find phobias the most interesting. Phobias are more
than just a strong fear or dislike. A specific phobia is diagnosed when there is an uncontrollable,
irrational, intense desire to avoid some object or situation. There are numerous types of phobias. A few
common phobias are; agoraphobia, which is the avoidance of situations in which one will fear having
a panic attack, especially a situation in which it is difficult to get help, and from which it difficult to
escape. Social phobia, which refers to an intense fear of being watched and judged by others. It is
visible as a fear of public appearances in which embarrassment or humiliation is possible, such as
public speaking, eating, or performing.

Global Migration From 1700 To 1900 CE, The World
Global Migrations CCOT Between 1700 CE and 1900 CE, the world saw radical growth and change.
New inventions, technologies and innovations led to major shifts in power and new societies emerged.
A common theme between these two dates is the migration of peoples for a variety of reasons. Some
left their homelands due to push factors, like famine, war and disease. Some left due to pull factors,
like economic prosperity, religious tolerance and freedom. From 1700 CE to 1900 CE, global
migration experienced a continuity in long distance migration to the Americas as a result of a need for
labor. Although there is a continuity, there are major changes in the push and pull factors for migration
such as like the Irish Potato Famine and the migration of immigrants into Australia due to the promise
of economic prosperity. The migration of people into the Americas was a continuity between 1700 CE
and 1900 CE. In the 1700s, predominantly European settlers migrated to the Americas in search of
economic gain. Many found this in the form of the plantation system. The need for labor on these
plantations led to the large scale migration of slaves. Slaves were essential to the economy of the
Americas and even to the parent countries in Europe as they were a cheap, reliable source of labor.
These slaves were part of a larger mercantilist system called the Atlantic Slave Trade. The slave trade
peaked in the 1700s with millions of African slaves being forced to migrate into the Americas. The

African Americans During Reconstruction
The best way to predict the future is to create it. Abraham Lincoln. The Union did various things to
help the South during the Reconstruction. They rebuilt roads, got farms operating once again, and
built schools for African American children and adults. Eventually the economy in the South began to
recover. Reconstruction was a period of repair after the civil war. Freed African Americans were
protected by the government during reconstruction by the Freedmen s Bureau, despite the South s
bitterness towards the new changes. Overall, reconstruction was positive because it brought many
affirmative changes for African Americans. First of all, the actions taken by the government to ensure
that Freedmen in the South were protected during the reconstruction was the establishment of the
Freedmen s Bureau. The Freedmen s Bureau was established in March 1865, which helped African
Americans achieve economic stability and secure political freedoms. Some of the things the Freedmen
s Bureau did was ensure that the former slaves earned fair and equal wages. Thus, it created specific
courts to settle disputes between black workers and white employers. In addition to this, the Freedmen
s Bureau established schools for African Americans. By 1870, two hundred fifty thousand African

Essay on The Role of the Chorus in Ancient Greek Tragedies
The chorus s perspective of justice works differently in Euripides Medea and Aeschylus The Libation
Bearers. In both The Libation Bearers and Medea, the driving force of vengeance links the chorus to
each of the play s protagonists. For both plays, the choruses begin with a strong support of their heroes
with a belief that the course of action that those characters are pursuing for the sake of avenging the
wrongs done to them or their families is just and right. The chorus of Medea, however, moves away
from that original conviction in the moral justification of revenge. Over the course of The Libation
Bearers, the chorus also begins to express doubt in the validity of the true value in the cycle of deaths
that the system of revenge ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The chorus supports Orestes revenge against his mother Clytemnestra for killing his father primarily
because a successful outcome of an action against Clytemnestra and Aegisthus would eliminate some
of their cause for suffering. However, Orestes revenge against his mother and Aegisthus also meets the
justice of the law of retribution, which the chorus defines: Justice turns the wheel.
Word for word, curse for curse be born now, Justice thunders, hungry for retribution,
stroke for bloody stroke be paid. The one who acts must suffer. (Libation Bearers 192)
The law of retribution describes true justice as revenge, without very much in the way of logical
moderation or consideration. This concept of justice shows the reasoning of Medea s actions. By this
system, the pain that Jason s betrayal gave her necessarily must be repaid by an equal or greater pain
that Medea would inflict on Jason.
The chorus of both The Libation Bearers and Medea experience similar shifts in perspective once their
protagonists have properly decided to take action against those characters who have wronged them in
some manner. Directly following the prayers of Orestes and Electra in The Libation Bearers, the
chorus says, The flesh crawls to hear them pray./ The hour of doom has waited long (Libation Bearers
197), clearly showing that the chorus, despite having urged Orestes on in taking

Firework
Do you ever feel like a plastic bag; drifting through the wind; wanting to start again. This is a lyric
from a song, firework, by Katy Perry. It is kind of like the emotion of the author of the poem, Pablo
Neruda. A feeling of peace, but lost, also a feeling of calm but loneliness. The poem The Sea, by Pablo
Neruda, describe a young man who feels a sense of stubborn sorrow and gathering oblivion, like a
plastic bag, but by the structure, sound, and symbolism of the poem, Neruda gives the readers a
message that by being near and observing the sea, the young man realizes he is part of the pure
movement of the universe. The poem talks about a life of a young man, who feel lost and sad, changes
significantly after he went to the sea. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Women s Rights Movement Essay
Women leaders are evolving in today s society more than ever before. For a while, men had always
been at the forefront when it came to leadership, however women have really stepped up and began
taking on a lot of leadership roles. It s ironic that a woman actually raises a male to be that of a leader;
however women didn t get viewed the same as the male. In 1948 The Women s Rights Movement
brought upon red flags and women began to questions why they didn t get the same educational as
well as professional opportunities as males. Lots of women began to speak out because they were not
going to tolerate the inequality against them any longer. There was definitely a change that took place
which allowed women to have the same opportunities as males. One woman in particular by the name
Meg Whitman really took advantage of this great opportunity. She s the perfect example of what
leadership is all about.
Meg Whitman is the President and chief executive officer of Hewlett Packard Co. She was born on
August 4, 1956 in Cold Spring Harbor, Long Island, New York. Whitman definitely has her hands in a

Ethical Problems Of The Military Logistics System
As far back as 1775 and most likely before that ethical problems have plagued the military logistics
system, to include contracting of logistical support. Throughout our history, whenever there was a
mobilization to support a conflict there was a good possibility that there would be some amount of
fraud, waste or abuse introduced into the logistical system. (Huston, 1997) This paper will discuss
some the different types of fraud, waste or abuse that can occur. It will also cover some recent cases
from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan where military, contractors or both have worked to defraud the
government and will conclude with some things that can be done to fight fraud in the future.
Though logistics and contracting are elements of the military organization, the contracting out of
logistical support is an area that is rife for lax ethics. During the solicitation phase the contracting
officer may try to structure the contract so that only one contractor is capable of fulfilling it. This is
done through making the technical specifications or terms of the contract so specific that only one
bidder is able to meet the terms. (af.mil) Another thing that is done, is submitting requests under a
certain price threshold to draw less scrutiny when they are reviewed. The Veterans Administrations is
dealing with a case like this right now. Purchasers are buying prosthetic limbs on their Government
Purchase Cards, just under the $25K limit so a contract doesn t have to go out

William Blake The Lamb Meaning
William Blake s The Lamb is a part of the Songs of Innocence (1789) and was later accompanied by a
larger work, the Songs of Experience (1794). Blake expressed what he believed, and he wanted to
prove his true understanding of Christianity. His audience for his poem understood Christianity and
were familiar with the Bible. The poem establishes the theme of the vulnerability of innocence and a
vision of the speaker. The child s view is limited on account of unawareness of the total reality of
human knowledge. The voice of the poem is formed from a speaker that seems to be an innocent child,
communicating with a lamb who is unable to answer or respond to the child. The rhyme scheme is
similar to that of Dr. Seuss, it is like a nursery rhyme, and also a riddle. This is one of William s
simpler poems, but with a closer analysis it reveals hidden symbols, meaning, tones, and wordplay.
William Blake writes The Songs of Innocence, so this poem is obviously going to relate to some kind
of innocence. It is revealed in the second stanza when the speaker addresses the lamb as if it knows
who made it, and who gave it all of its features. However, the lamb or child does not answer, but of
course it would not answer. This then causes the speaker to answer his own questions. Which proves
that the lamb is too innocent to answer for itself. Dost thou know who made thee? /Little Lamb I ll tell
thee (10 11). This displays the wordplay in the poem because the reader asks questions and then

Title: Understanding The Alimony Reform In Florida
What is alimony?
Alimony is a legal obligation to provide financial support to one s spouse before or after marital
separation or divorce. Traditionally, the husband was responsible for paying alimony to a separated or
former wife but since the 1970 s, thanks to gender equality movements and now to changing marital
laws, both spouses are now legally recognized for paying alimony to one another in cases of marital
separation or divorce. Though it is often required to be paid on top of child support, in cases where the
separated or divorced couple has children, alimony is an entirely ... Show more content on

One is Baxter v. Baxter in 1998, when a man s wife left her for a friend who was financially well off,
with an income of over $100,000 a year (CNS News), yet still demanded an alimony from her
husband that was slightly less than $1,000 per month. Another is Heilman v. Heilman from 1992,
when a states appeals court reversed the denial of an adulterous wife s request for alimony from her
former husband and rejected her former spouse s claim that emotional trauma and devastation should
qualify as exemptions from having to pay a permanent alimony to adulterous spouse. In both cases,
preexisting financial stability and emotional burdens do not ease or erase the conditions for forced
alimony pay under Florida state law. These are motives that have fueled the fire of the current
Alimony Reform movement in Florida. Many claim that alimony hurts lower income families, who
can t afford to pay high alimony fees every month for the rest of their lives, or families who have gone
through divisive and devastating trials thanks to separation or divorce, especially in cases where the
separation or divorce was caused by adultery or

Porter s Five Force Analysis
This Michael Porter s five force analysis of Starbucks coffee shows the intensity of the five strengths
of the firm, and the bases of these powers. Starbucks coffee s prosperity shows its viability in tending
to these outside elements in its industrial surroundings. However, this five forces investigation
highlights current industry conditions that force present and developing concerns significant to
Starbucks Coffee s business. Following are the five forces of Michael Porter s model. These five
forces have different intensities or powers on the basis of the market position of Starbucks.
(1) Competitive rivalry or competition (strong force)
(2) Threat of substitutes or substitution (strong force)
(3) The bargaining power of buyers or customers (strong force)
(4) Threat of new entrants or new entry (moderate force)
(5) The bargaining power of suppliers (weak force)
Competitive Rivalry or Competition According to Maverick (2015), marketplace rivalry from
significant opponents is the strongest business sector constrain that Starbucks needs to address. In
spite of the fact that it holds a preeminent position in the coffeehouse market segment, there is intense
rivalry from competitors, for example, Dunkin Brands Group and McDonald s. Like its real rivals,
Starbucks advertising technique has depended vigorously on setting up an exceptionally solid brand
personality and brand reliability sufficiently to encourage customers to pay a sensible premium price
for its items.

Macedon Ranges Case Study
Introduction:
The Macedon Ranges is a tourism region within one hour s drive or train ride from Melbourne,
Australia. The region is known for an extensive network of wineries, art galleries, cafes, B B cottages
and spa (DMR Tourism, 2014).
Victoria has access to both natural mineral springs and geothermal waters and there are over 100
recognised natural mineral springs in the state, highest number of mineral springs in Australia majority
of which are found in the Daylesford region (Tourism Victoria, 2011). It is because of this reason that
the region is known as the spa capital of Australia. The prospect of easy riches that attracted the first

Uglies Westerfeld Character Analysis
Tally, the main character in the book Uglies , shows many changes in character or thought throughout
the book. Uglies was written by Scott Westerfeld, a New York Times Bestselling Author. In Uglies,
Westerfeld shows the reader how Tally s character changes when Peris visits her in Uglyville, when
Tally finds out David grew up in the Smoke, and when Tally visits David s parents house.
The first time a change of character in Tally is noticed is when she finds out who she trusts, and
commits to, when Peris visits her in Uglyille. This is while Tally is trying to decide whether she wants
to tell the Specials where Shay is, and turn pretty, or keep Shay s location a secret, and stay ugly for
life. Therefore, the statement Tally had it now, an excuse to break her vow. She d made that promise to
Peris, just as real, before she d ever met Shay. She had known him for years, and Shay for only a few
months shows that Tally has decided she would rather keep her promise to Peris other than Shay
(Westerfeld ) . After Peris s visit, Tally decides that she will answer to Dr. Cable s ultimatum and go

Informal Australian Lexicon
The informal Australian lexicon is utilised in everyday casual conversations and is thus recognisable
as a distinct, Australian characteristic. Slang has become familiarised in the lexicon due to its frequent
use in informal communication at an occurrence where lexemes are recognisable to be unequivocally
Australian. This further strengthens the interweaving of language and identity. One of the most
recognisable lexemes is the slang term Aussies , the shortened form of Australians , which [is] now so
widely known that even the Americans will refer to Australian sportspeople as [such], (Professor Roly

A big part of the laid back perception of Australians is due to their extensive application of colloquial
terminology, commonly shortenings of original, commonplace lexemes known as diminutives. Most
diminutives in Australia are created by the shortening of a name or a noun and usually adding a bound
suffix of a, o, ie or y. Nearly one half of Australian diminutives share an ee sound as the last syllable,
which is common in other English variants and languages to express endearment, intimacy or
informality between speakers. Such examples are the popular barbie , bicky/bickie , and ambo .
Notable diminutives are the shortening of the organisation The Salvation Army into salvo s and
McDonald s into macca s . These slangs have become widespread enough throughout the country that
the organisations themselves have adopted their colloquial names for advertisement. This displays the
how deep the use of diminutives are within Australia, where it has established itself as an everyday
part of communication and lifestyle, becoming normalized. The popularisation of the evident standard
formula in which Australian slangs are invented has assisted to the relaxed imagery of the public of

Abraham Lincoln as the Greatest President Essay
Abraham Lincoln is regarded by many Americans as the greatest president to ever hold office in the
history of the United States, and his reputation is definitely well deserved. Lincoln wasn t scared to
stand up and fight for what he knew was right. He was convinced that within the branches of
government, the presidency alone was empowered not only to uphold the Constitution, but also to
protect, and defend it. Lincoln was able to lead our country and preserve the Union, keeping the
United States from splintering during the devastating times of the Civil War. As President, he built the
Republican Party into a strong national organization, and he rallied most of the northern Democrats to
the Union cause. On January 1, 1863, he issued the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Most Dangerous Job Essay
In The Most Dangerous Job excerpted from the book Fast Food Nation, by Eric Schlosser, it discusses
the issues of the meat packing industry in the early 1900 s in the genre of fiction. It describes the
factory in a grotesque manner. The meat packing industry was known as having less strict regulations
compared to now. The OSHA should have more firm regulations for the meat packing industry and
local restaurants.
The Most Dangerous Job has a contrast of pathos to ethos and logos, to persuade his audience with a
more logical context. The Jungle by Upton Sinclair consistently uses pathos in the argument of their
passage to give an exaggerated tone. Both articles use this method to draw in their viewers with
adjectives relating to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

single file, and leave in a different form (Sinclair). In this sentence, it was using logos in the starting

working conditions, offers to give me a tour (Sinclair). This sentence used logos to persuade his
viewers that people from the factory were upset because of the working conditions, and decided to
show him the poor quality they were operating in. The slaughterhouse is an immense building, gray

Sexual Orientation Of Sexual Minority Health Essay
Relatively recent inclusion of sexual orientation measures in a few federal and state health
surveillance surveys is enabling the production of population based information about sexual minority
health and its status relative to that of the heterosexual majority.
Few studies have been adequately powered to investigate variability in health by sexual orientation, let
alone by orientation and other key social characteristics (e.g., gender, race/ethnicity, socioeconomic
status); yet research suggests heterogeneity in sexual minority health. Most research on sexual
minorities health in the United States has been led utilizing convenience samples. In spite of the fact
that the discoveries of this exploration have made huge commitments to the research, information
gathered from nonprobability tests have constrained access for general health planning as a result of
concerns with respect to determination predisposition and outer legitimacy. Populace based health
measurements assume a key part in illuminating the prioritization of general health and wellbeing
issues, and open interest in the health advancement movement.
Moderately late consideration of sexual orientation measures in a couple of government and state
wellbeing observation overviews is empowering the generation of populace based data about sexual
minority well being, and its status with respect to that of the heterosexual dominance. In spite of the

Morality In Elie s A Confederacy Of Dunces
Whereas Ignatius rather nonsensical pessimistic worldview comes from his sense of being morally
greater than his society (and, therefore, from looking at it in disgust), and from a position of general
opulence, Elie s stems from a macabre realization that all people, including himself, are bestial and
selfish, and from a position of total destitution. Ignatius believed himself to be a beacon of morality in
an otherwise dismal society. For instance, throughout A Confederacy of Dunces, he would write about
the evils of the hedonistic, bourgeois society in which he lived, and about how the world would be in a
much better position if based on the medieval principles (such as divine right and cruel forms of
torture) in which he subscribed were put in place. Often, he went to the movie theater solely to
criticize the movies and describe to the audience the changes he would make in order to make the

On the other hand, throughout Night, Elie often remarked of his loss of humanity and emotion.
Whereas, in the beginning of this story, Elie thought himself to be a very moral person, even a person
worthy enough to study the Kabbalah, through his ordeal, he saw that he and all humans are cruel and
act on instinct rather than emotion. This point can be highlighted through Elie s diminishing concern
for his father. Though he often tried to keep himself and his father alive at the start of their time in the
internment camps, Wiesel slowly lost this concern (in fact, he started to hate his father for being a
burden) with time and with the realization of his need to act on instinct in order to survive. This
culminated in the end of the book when Elie totally ignored his father s pleas for food, and he, instead,
wished his father would be taken to be killed sooner. Considering both of these cases, Ignatius
pessimism carries no justification at all, whereas Wiesel s does.

Bodily Piercing and Tattooing
Bodily piercing and tattooing are regarded to some as art or adornment, to others, a purposeful
religious sentiment. Many individuals fail to entirely consider the fulminant risks associated with
penetrating subcutaneous tissue with foreign bodies. The human body is composed of complex
systems and mechanisms, which interact in order to maintain homeostasis. When deviancy disrupts
the bodily chemical reactions, the internal processes operating to uphold optimal living conditions will
be altered. The human body requires tight limitations of cell, tissue, organ, and organ system activity
in order to function properly. As humans, bodily piercings are considered foreign, unfamiliar objects
to our anatomy. Correspondingly, our bodies have been known to, at times reject these piercings
potentially resulting in medical ailments. In healthcare, providers are increasingly faced with treating
complications related to body piercing. (Ramman ) Ear and nose piercing are the earliest documented
styles of piercings dating from 1500 BC. African and American cultures discovered oral piercings,
including those of the lip and tongue. While the nipple and genital piercings have been said to derive
from ancient Indians. The contemporary way of life brought about different styles and methods of
piercing, such as surface piercing. The investigation of the impact on health care providers and

of his sins and he will save the soul of the suicidal wife. After speaking this, Balian cannot

Taking a Look at the Indian Mutiny
One might argue that the most significant short term impact of the Indian Mutiny was the British
taking direct control of India through crown control creating a positive relationship. The Indian
Mutiny caused this short term impact as in the aftermath of the rebellion the British understood that
the administration of India must be brought under closer government control to prevent such a mutiny
recurring in the future. In addition to the British taking direct control the mutiny had various other
short term impacts amongst the most significant where the British developing a feeling of mistrust
towards Indians and brutal force being established as a key method in controlling Indian nationalism.
In order to validate my argument I will use a range of contemporary sources including illustrations,
satirical cartoons, government proclamations and firsthand accounts. These sources will be cross
referenced with one another to ensure the validity of the argument and the reliability of the sources
will also be taken into consideration to form a justified conclusion. One short term impact of the
Indian Mutiny and arguably the most significant were the British taking direct control of India though
crown control creating a positive relationship. The process of Britain taking control involved the East

Prisoners of war were quite common as Rome was almost always at war somewhere in her territory or
at the borders. The defeated army would likely be slaughtered or the survivors would be sold into
slavery. Caesar did so in his 9 year Gallic wars, enslaving an estimated a million prisoners to pay his
troops. Plutarch (Caes. 15). Being sold into slavery was mostly the cause of piracy. In the years before
167 BC the people on the island of Rhodes ensured safe passage through the eastern Mediterranean,
however once the Romans destroyed the Rhodian fleet, pirates were given the opportunity to attack
whoever they chose, resulting in a plentiful supply of cheap slaves to be sold. As stated in Cicero Who
sailed the seas without exposing himself to the risk either of death or of slavery? People born to a
slave were automatically a slave themselves. They were called vernae. Vernae were likely to be the
result of a liason between a free person in the household and a slave. This was likely as no female
slave could refuse her master or free males in the house. Slaves being born into slavery profited their
masters greatly as they were not paid for and then later on could be sold for more money. As military
service was mandatory to all in Rome except for slaves, numbers of vernae could grow rapidly and

Why are Apple Products so Popular?
In today s world, Apple s products are highly sought after because they are very popular for everyone.
According to Yarow, editor of The Business Insider, said that the newest iPhone sold 5 million over
the opening weekend (Yarow, 2012). However, it is difficult to find the reason why Apple s products
are so superior compared with other electronic products in the market. Since Apple s products come
out in our life, it has facilitated our life and brought us huge benefits. For instance, people do not need
to bring their heavy laptops to go to work every day, because they already have the portable tablet PC

DigiTimes (2010) demonstrates that the first generation of iPad price was $499, at that time some
tablet PC manufacturers predicted iPad s price is about $1000 and these tablet PC manufacturers
originally planned their tablet prices 20% 30% lower than the iPad. The present the iPad price is only
$499, which compels the tablet PC manufacturer to re evaluate the price strategy. If tablet PC
manufacturers want their product appealing to consumers, they could only adjust the price lower than
the iPad. But the final result shows that it is failed, and now iPad is the fourth generation, but it still
people s first choice for PC tablets. If the iPhone and iPad s price were more expensive, maybe they
would not be so popular; I believe Apple Company is also aware of this
In short, my conclusion is that the cause of Apple s products being popular depends on its creative
design, unique innovation and the reasonable price. If there were no Apple s products, I believed the
development of electronic products would slow down at least ten years. Because the market has Apple
s products, our life is more convenient than before. The emergence of Apple s products makes
electronic product market have more competition. No matter what, the direct beneficiaries of the price
war is the consumer. The constantly price war will make commodity prices approached the cost.

The Rate Of Gross Domestic Product And Unemployment
The relationship between rate of Gross Domestic Product and Unemployment
Of an economy
The economic power of an economy is what truly enables it to be a global ruler; furthermore a strong
economy means the people are employed, successful and thriving. The best way to measure the
economy s current health is to just take a look at their Gross domestic production and unemployment
rate. A strong economy stands for global dominance and influence, resulting in high standards of
living, decreased unemployment, and prevention from recessions, depressions and also lower the risk
of inflation but is there a link between the gross domestic product and unemployment that plays a role
in all this? And how does this effect the well being of an economy, also why was the Canadian
recession of 2008 a proof of this direct but opposite link of GDP and unemployment.
Now to connect the dots, it s easy to put out all these terms but not actually understand how they are
related well the growth of GDP means there is more demand of products and if there is demand,
companies need workers to make those products, hence there is lesser unemployment and the
economy is growing and production rate is also increasing. If the rate growth is constantly decreasing
with lesser demand and there is constant lower economic activity then the economy goes into
recession. To further elaborate these concepts, Gross domestic product stands for the total economic
activity of a nation, it means the monetary value of

a trade off between Risks and rewards. We have to weigh out the risks with rewards as below
Risks Involved
Credit and Downgrade risk This arises from the level of exposure that Chase would take in the
HK$3.3 billion loan. Usually they put a limit of 10%. Thus Chase had to bid in such a way to have

Thus a competitive but less profitable bid could result in more profitable bid in future
The market flex clause effectively reduces Chase s underwriting risk and gives them room to reduce
underwriting fees and be competitive.
Thus, Chase must bid to win, and set a competitive underwriting fee and an option to syndicate for the
risk and rewards discussed above.
2. We would recommend Disney to sign Chase´s standard commitment letter because, by doing so,
Disney would increase the probability of a successful closure of the project. If the situation changes
adversely for Chase, the bank has the possibility of renegotiating some aspects of the contract instead
of pulling out and ruin the execution of the project.
This also gives Disney the power to negotiate for a lower underwriting fees
However, Disney might be concerned because
The market flex terms which give Chase the possibility of changing the contract without the borrower
´s consent. In the clause is written that changes would be done after consultation with Disney but this
term could be confusing.
Moreover, the standard contract is vague in conditions under which Chase would apply triggering
clauses.
Another concern for Disney should be the fact that if the company sign the market flex terms, Chase
would be over charging underwriting fees which aim is usually to cover

Cyworld Marketing Case Analysis
Cyworld Case Analysis
Market Segmentation Cyworld s market can be segmented many different ways using various factors
to create the segments. Cyworld can demographically segment its market using statistics such as age,
sex, and country. This can be done by breaking down Cyworld s users based on male/female, current
country of residence, and then further grouping the users into age categories of 13 18 years old, 19 29
years old, 30 39 years old, etc. Cyworld can gain information on its market by further segmenting its
users based on specific aspects of the website, such as activity level, purchases, and the amount of
connections. For activity level segmentation, Cyworld would categorize users based on the amount of
times he/she signs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Valuation of User Types for Cyworld Between the Cyworld user classifications of an active user, a
user who spends a lot of money on the site, and a user with a lot of connections, the most valuable to
Cyworld is an active user. An active user is a Cyworld member that signs in to his/her profile on a
consistent basis, multiple times per week. This type of user creates the most opportunities for Cyworld
to produce income in various ways. Active users are the ones who engage more with the system, who
are more likely to interact with advertising, who are more likely to spend money on virtual goods and
currency (O Sullivan, 2011). A user who spends a lot of money on Cyworld is valuable, but their value
to Cyworld is limited to only the purchase of items. If purchasing items goes out of style and becomes
an infrequent occurrence, this type of user brings about little value to the website. A user with a lot of
connections, or a member that has a lot of virtual relationships with other members, comes in at a
close second in terms of value brought to Cyworld. This type of user brings about a higher possibility
of purchasing items for their various connections, as described previously, but just because a Cyworld
user has a lot of connections does not mean that he/she actively uses the website. A user with a lot of
connections that never, or rarely, signs into Cyworld contributes little value to the website. High user
activity levels allow Cyworld

Simpson s Bambaata A Review Of Hip-Hop
1983: Afrika Bambaataa spins the wheels of steel, his vintage scratching skills and guru like vibe
turning Chic s Good Times into a mass call and response. As fists pump the air and a smile appears on
every face, a sweaty Liverpool rock venue is transformed into a euphoric New York block party.
(Simpson). A scene from his 1982 global tour, where Bambaataa brought the principals of his
Universal Zulu Nation abroad, Simpson exclaims on how Bambaataa, former gang warlord, founder
of the black nationalist Universal Zulu Nation, and Master of the Records got thousands of oppressed
people from all different parts of the worlds, to pump their fists to a synchronized beat, soon to be
distilled in one message: peace, love, unity, and having fun. Simpson describes, in his review for The
Guardian newspaper, Bambaataa as the hand that guided ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Simpson s review emphasizes Bambaataa s ability to bring people together, to get everyone s fists
pumping , placing a smile ... on every face , alluding to the transcendence of racial differences through
the intersection of music movements hip hop and rock, the merging of peoples in the 1980s. In the
1970s, hip hop was as a voice for marginalized African American and Puerto Rican youth. This
movement was a generational revolt against the status quo, and in the midst of it becoming global, it
became commercial, about making money. Rather than valuing the music s effects on the people, as
the review of Bambaataa did, TOURE shows how the 1980s 1990s music industry had begun to
commercialize it, stripping it of its focus on the backbeat and transforming it into something else.
Rather than reflecting the voices and needs of youth at the time, it became something unachievable
above the people, effectively diluting its political

Stainless Steel Hooks Research Paper
Stainless steel hoses serve a variety of functions in an industrial setting, and if you are starting a
business that will need these hoses, there is a good chance that you may not be that familiar with what
these hoses need to stay in good condition. Utilizing the following couple of tips will help you to
avoid some routine errors that can cause problems for your enterprise s steel hoses.
Conduct A Leak Check
Regardless of whether your hoses are carrying liquid or gas, it is important to perform regular leak
checks to make sure the hoses integrity has not been compromised. A small leak can indicate an area
of general weakness in the hoses, which could place them at a risk of exploding or rupturing.
To perform a leak check, you will need

My Academic Goals And Research Interests
My academic goals and research interests have developed significantly over the course of my
undergraduate studies at Susquehanna University. When I first arrived at Susquehanna I was a biology
major and had dreams of medical school. However, by the end of freshman year, I began to develop an
interest in neuroscience. Declaring a major in neuroscience allowed me to explore the components of
biology I loved, while incorporating psychology and chemistry.
My research interests developed from my exposure to the various areas of neuroscience through my
internships, research experiences and courses. I am currently working on a research project, with the
goal of gaining a more thorough understanding of the genes involved in lateral glial cell differentiation
in the central nervous system of Drosophila. I conduct genetic crosses to obtain the desired genomes
and collect embryos for immunostaining. I examine the expression of a conceptual gene, cg31235,
which is solely expressed in longitudinal glial cells, in the presence of the genes Pointed P1 (PntP1)
and Reversed Polarity (Repo). Subsequently, I will then use immunostaining to examine the
expression of PntP1 and Repo in order to determine whether they regulate the genes involved in the in
the development and function of longitudinal glia. Last fall, I presented my research proposal, which
was followed by a presentation at the Society of Developmental Biology this spring. These
experiences have strengthened my desire to explore

Art Brodsky E-Book Stealing
In a piece written by Art Brodsky, Art Brodsky argues that beyond, the e book pricing, the real
problem of e books is that it is killing libraries. As Brodsky notes:
Imagine walking into a library or bookstore and needing three or four pairs of different glasses to read
different books manufactured to specific viewing equipment. Or buying a book and then having to
arbitrarily destroy it after say, two weeks. That s just nuts. But it s the current situation we re in with
eBooks.
By this, he is referring to the fact that Amazon, Google and so on, have their e book stores where they
sell goods which works on certain devices. Libraries have been an important part of our human
history, spreading our culture and knowledge over centuries. The internet

  • 2. Descriptive Essay On The Day Of A Dog The turbulent winds smashed into my face as I struggled to pull my dog to the cover of the large oak tree. All of a sudden, a large gust of wind lifted my dog into the air, snapping her old and tattered leash! I screamed in horror as she was flung into the choppy river. Stunned, I could only watch in panic as my dog s head bobbed up and down in the water, while she frenetically tried to keep herself afloat... Unaware of the dreadful events that were about to unfold later in the day, I rolled over in my cozy bed, but was abruptly shaken out of my tranquil sleep by the sound of my dogs shrill, loud bark and the slivers of light which pierced through my eyelids. Drowsily, I opened my eyes to see my little dog anxiously circling around my rumpled bed. I looked out of the ever so slightly tinted window at the rising sun and wondered to myself why I wake up early to walk my dog. I got out of bed and quickly put on my clothes as I know that the deafening bark will prolong due to her urgency to ease herself. I walked over to the window hoping for a sudden change in the weather so I could go back to sleep, as my dog hates to go out on rainy days, but to my dismay it was still a sunny ... The soothing splashing sounds, which came from the calm river currents, furthermore silenced and literally camouflaged what was left of the busy city noise. Which created a peaceful safe haven for many little creatures. Sporadically, calm winds blew through the park, causing the thin carpet of leaves on the ground to flutter and dance up into the air. • 3. Who Is The Hero In Flowers In The Attic We lived in the attic, Christopher, Cory, Carrie and Me. Now there are only Three. Cathy Dollanganger. This quote by Cathy comes from the Lifetime movie called Flowers in the Attic. It was released as a premiere on Lifetime on May 26, 2014. The movie is both a drama and a thriller. The original movie of the same name was released in 1987 and they were both based on a 1969 book by V.C. Andrews. The film follows the four Dollanganger children: 14 year old Chris (portrayed by Mason Dye), 12 year old Cathy (portrayed by Kiernan Shipka), 5 year old Cory (portrayed by Maxwell Kovach), and 5 year old Carrie (portrayed by Ava Telek). The film is told from the point of view of Cathy and she is portrayed as the heroine and her grandmother is the villain. Her mother progresses from a good guy to one of the bad guys during the course of the movie. In the late 1950 s, the children lived happily in a small town in Pennsylvania with their parents, Christopher and Corrine (portrayed by Heather Graham). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... During their search for valuables, they discover that Corrine and Bart have left Foxworth Hall. Chris overhears a conversation between the butler and a maid, and learns that Olivia has been leaving poison to kill the mice in the attic and that their grandfather died seven months ago. Cathy shows Chris how Cory s pet mouse has died after eating a piece of powdered doughnut, revealing that the poison was in their food. Olivia then comes to take their key, and Chris restrains her long enough for Cathy and Carrie to escape. • 4. Dances With Wolves Essay Dances With Wolves No matter how you choose to categorize human beings, whether by race or religion, nationality or gender, the resultant categories will display at least one immutable constant. Each group, no matter how diverse their beliefs or how dissimilar their behaviors, will contain men of honest and peaceful natures as well as men of divisive and violent natures. In the film Dances With Wolves, we are exposed to two distinct categories of people inhabiting post civil war America, the white man and the Native American. We, most likely, begin the movie with defined ideas as to which group contains honest, peaceful men and which group contains violent and savage men. We are, however, exposed to behaviors which are in opposition ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But, compassionate, thinking white men are definitely in the minority in this film. When John begins his Westward move, the crude, maniacal white man makes his reappearance. The officer who gives John the information about getting to his new post appears to be downright insane and apparently kills himself. The guide who accompanies John to his post is also no prize. John refers to him as the foulest man alive (Dances with Wolves). This constant exposure to the violent and crude men who make up the white race is an effective first step in shifting our sympathies. We want to distance ourselves from these shameful characters. We don t want to identify with them. Our first exposure to Indians is a mere suggestion of the expected stereotype. We are shown a skeleton on the ground with an arrow stuck through it. So far so good. We are accustomed to that image. Dunbar s guide states that Indians are nothin but thieves and beggars and that you only want to see them when they are dead (Dances with Wolves). He, of course, is such an exemplary man that it s not ironic at all to hear him degrading someone else. From the beginning of the film we are given hints that Dunbar is not like his fellow ugly Americans. When John and his guide arrive at the deserted Fort, the guide is in a hurry to be away. He is nervous and uncomfortable and thinks nothing of leaving without accomplishing what he was sent to do. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Human Capital as a Solution to Marx s Problems with Capitalism Karl Marx, a German economic philosopher, argues in The Communist Manifesto that a capitalist society allows the bourgeoisie, the owning class, to exploit the proletariat, the working class. Marx rejects the idea that unions are a possible fix for the problems created by capitalism, but does not consider the possibility of increasing human capital to solve the problems he sees with capitalism. By increasing their human capital, the proletariat would gain independence from the bourgeoisie and be able to profit off their labor, and the elimination of private property would become problematic. To begin, I will explain why Marx believes that unions are insufficient solutions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Now, I will discuss the strength of Marx s argument for why the formation of unions is not a strong enough solution to the problem of the bourgeoisie s exploitation of the proletariat. I agree with Marx that the proposed solution of creating unions would not eliminate the exploitation of the proletariat. Workers would still receive less than the value they create with their labor. The bourgeoisie continues to possess all the power because the proletariat depends on them for their survival. However, it appears that there is another cause for an increase in wages that would be problematic with Marx s views that the bourgeoisie are exploiting the proletariat and the only solution is to eliminate private property. This factor may be human capital, the skills, knowledge and experiences each person possesses. Throughout his discourse, Marx seems to only consider physical capital and not human capital. When human capital is included in Marx s arguments, some flaws in Marx s views are realized. Therefore, I shall explain how the concept of human capital could be problematic to Marx s views. First, unlike physical capital, everyone owns human capital including both the bourgeoisie and the proletariat. If everyone has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Global Migration From 1700 To 1900 CE, The World Global Migrations CCOT Between 1700 CE and 1900 CE, the world saw radical growth and change. New inventions, technologies and innovations led to major shifts in power and new societies emerged. A common theme between these two dates is the migration of peoples for a variety of reasons. Some left their homelands due to push factors, like famine, war and disease. Some left due to pull factors, like economic prosperity, religious tolerance and freedom. From 1700 CE to 1900 CE, global migration experienced a continuity in long distance migration to the Americas as a result of a need for labor. Although there is a continuity, there are major changes in the push and pull factors for migration such as like the Irish Potato Famine and the migration of immigrants into Australia due to the promise of economic prosperity. The migration of people into the Americas was a continuity between 1700 CE and 1900 CE. In the 1700s, predominantly European settlers migrated to the Americas in search of economic gain. Many found this in the form of the plantation system. The need for labor on these plantations led to the large scale migration of slaves. Slaves were essential to the economy of the Americas and even to the parent countries in Europe as they were a cheap, reliable source of labor. These slaves were part of a larger mercantilist system called the Atlantic Slave Trade. The slave trade peaked in the 1700s with millions of African slaves being forced to migrate into the Americas. Reconstruction was a period of repair after the civil war. Freed African Americans were protected by the government during reconstruction by the Freedmen s Bureau, despite the South s bitterness towards the new changes. Overall, reconstruction was positive because it brought many affirmative changes for African Americans. First of all, the actions taken by the government to ensure that Freedmen in the South were protected during the reconstruction was the establishment of the Freedmen s Bureau. The Freedmen s Bureau was established in March 1865, which helped African Americans achieve economic stability and secure political freedoms. Some of the things the Freedmen s Bureau did was ensure that the former slaves earned fair and equal wages. • 10. Essay on The Role of the Chorus in Ancient Greek Tragedies The chorus s perspective of justice works differently in Euripides Medea and Aeschylus The Libation Bearers. In both The Libation Bearers and Medea, the driving force of vengeance links the chorus to each of the play s protagonists. For both plays, the choruses begin with a strong support of their heroes with a belief that the course of action that those characters are pursuing for the sake of avenging the wrongs done to them or their families is just and right. The chorus of Medea, however, moves away from that original conviction in the moral justification of revenge. Over the course of The Libation Bearers, the chorus also begins to express doubt in the validity of the true value in the cycle of deaths that the system of revenge ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The chorus supports Orestes revenge against his mother Clytemnestra for killing his father primarily because a successful outcome of an action against Clytemnestra and Aegisthus would eliminate some of their cause for suffering. However, Orestes revenge against his mother and Aegisthus also meets the justice of the law of retribution, which the chorus defines: Justice turns the wheel. Word for word, curse for curse be born now, Justice thunders, hungry for retribution, stroke for bloody stroke be paid. The one who acts must suffer. (Libation Bearers 192) The law of retribution describes true justice as revenge, without very much in the way of logical moderation or consideration. This concept of justice shows the reasoning of Medea s actions. By this system, the pain that Jason s betrayal gave her necessarily must be repaid by an equal or greater pain that Medea would inflict on Jason. The chorus of both The Libation Bearers and Medea experience similar shifts in perspective once their protagonists have properly decided to take action against those characters who have wronged them in some manner. Directly following the prayers of Orestes and Electra in The Libation Bearers, the chorus says, The flesh crawls to hear them pray./ The hour of doom has waited long (Libation Bearers 197), clearly showing that the chorus, despite having urged Orestes on in taking ... Throughout our history, whenever there was a mobilization to support a conflict there was a good possibility that there would be some amount of fraud, waste or abuse introduced into the logistical system. (Huston, 1997) This paper will discuss some the different types of fraud, waste or abuse that can occur. It will also cover some recent cases from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan where military, contractors or both have worked to defraud the government and will conclude with some things that can be done to fight fraud in the future. • 16. William Blake The Lamb Meaning William Blake s The Lamb is a part of the Songs of Innocence (1789) and was later accompanied by a larger work, the Songs of Experience (1794). Blake expressed what he believed, and he wanted to prove his true understanding of Christianity. His audience for his poem understood Christianity and were familiar with the Bible. The poem establishes the theme of the vulnerability of innocence and a vision of the speaker. The child s view is limited on account of unawareness of the total reality of human knowledge. The voice of the poem is formed from a speaker that seems to be an innocent child, communicating with a lamb who is unable to answer or respond to the child. The rhyme scheme is similar to that of Dr. Seuss, it is like a nursery rhyme, and also a riddle. This is one of William s simpler poems, but with a closer analysis it reveals hidden symbols, meaning, tones, and wordplay. William Blake writes The Songs of Innocence, so this poem is obviously going to relate to some kind of innocence. It is revealed in the second stanza when the speaker addresses the lamb as if it knows who made it, and who gave it all of its features. However, the lamb or child does not answer, but of course it would not answer. This then causes the speaker to answer his own questions. Which proves that the lamb is too innocent to answer for itself. Dost thou know who made thee? /Little Lamb I ll tell thee (10 11). • 29. The Most Dangerous Job Essay In The Most Dangerous Job excerpted from the book Fast Food Nation, by Eric Schlosser, it discusses the issues of the meat packing industry in the early 1900 s in the genre of fiction. It describes the factory in a grotesque manner. The meat packing industry was known as having less strict regulations compared to now. The OSHA should have more firm regulations for the meat packing industry and local restaurants. The Most Dangerous Job has a contrast of pathos to ethos and logos, to persuade his audience with a more logical context. The Jungle by Upton Sinclair consistently uses pathos in the argument of their passage to give an exaggerated tone. Someone who has access to the plant, who s upset by its working conditions, offers to give me a tour (Sinclair). This sentence used logos to persuade his viewers that people from the factory were upset because of the working conditions, and decided to show him the poor quality they were operating in. The slaughterhouse is an immense building, gray and square, about three stories high, with no windows on the front and no architectural clues to what s happening inside (Sinclair). In The Jungle, it s set during the early 1900 s in fiction in 3rd person point of view, while the The Most Dangerous Job is set during present day in nonfiction in 1st person point of view. • 31. Sexual Orientation Of Sexual Minority Health Essay Relatively recent inclusion of sexual orientation measures in a few federal and state health surveillance surveys is enabling the production of population based information about sexual minority health and its status relative to that of the heterosexual majority. Few studies have been adequately powered to investigate variability in health by sexual orientation, let alone by orientation and other key social characteristics (e.g., gender, race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status); yet research suggests heterogeneity in sexual minority health. Most research on sexual minorities health in the United States has been led utilizing convenience samples. In spite of the fact that the discoveries of this exploration have made huge commitments to the research, information gathered from nonprobability tests have constrained access for general health planning as a result of concerns with respect to determination predisposition and outer legitimacy. Populace based health measurements assume a key part in illuminating the prioritization of general health and wellbeing issues, and open interest in the health advancement movement. Moderately late consideration of sexual orientation measures in a couple of government and state wellbeing observation overviews is empowering the generation of populace based data about sexual minority well being, and its status with respect to that of the heterosexual dominance. Morality In Elie s A Confederacy Of Dunces Whereas Ignatius rather nonsensical pessimistic worldview comes from his sense of being morally greater than his society (and, therefore, from looking at it in disgust), and from a position of general opulence, Elie s stems from a macabre realization that all people, including himself, are bestial and selfish, and from a position of total destitution. Ignatius believed himself to be a beacon of morality in an otherwise dismal society. For instance, throughout A Confederacy of Dunces, he would write about the evils of the hedonistic, bourgeois society in which he lived, and about how the world would be in a much better position if based on the medieval principles (such as divine right and cruel forms of torture) in which he subscribed were put in place. Whereas, in the beginning of this story, Elie thought himself to be a very moral person, even a person worthy enough to study the Kabbalah, through his ordeal, he saw that he and all humans are cruel and act on instinct rather than emotion. This point can be highlighted through Elie s diminishing concern for his father. Though he often tried to keep himself and his father alive at the start of their time in the internment camps, Wiesel slowly lost this concern (in fact, he started to hate his father for being a burden) with time and with the realization of his need to act on instinct in order to survive. This culminated in the end of the book when Elie totally ignored his father s pleas for food, and he, instead, wished his father would be taken to be killed sooner. Considering both of these cases, Ignatius pessimism carries no justification at all, whereas Wiesel s does. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Plutarch (Caes. 15). Being sold into slavery was mostly the cause of piracy. In the years before 167 BC the people on the island of Rhodes ensured safe passage through the eastern Mediterranean, however once the Romans destroyed the Rhodian fleet, pirates were given the opportunity to attack whoever they chose, resulting in a plentiful supply of cheap slaves to be sold. As stated in Cicero Who sailed the seas without exposing himself to the risk either of death or of slavery? People born to a slave were automatically a slave themselves. They were called vernae. Vernae were likely to be the result of a liason between a free person in the household and a slave. This was likely as no female slave could refuse her master or free males in the house. In today s world, Apple s products are highly sought after because they are very popular for everyone. According to Yarow, editor of The Business Insider, said that the newest iPhone sold 5 million over the opening weekend (Yarow, 2012). However, it is difficult to find the reason why Apple s products are so superior compared with other electronic products in the market. The present the iPad price is only $499, which compels the tablet PC manufacturer to re evaluate the price strategy. The Rate Of Gross Domestic Product And Unemployment The relationship between rate of Gross Domestic Product and Unemployment Of an economy The economic power of an economy is what truly enables it to be a global ruler; furthermore a strong economy means the people are employed, successful and thriving. The best way to measure the economy s current health is to just take a look at their Gross domestic production and unemployment rate. A strong economy stands for global dominance and influence, resulting in high standards of living, decreased unemployment, and prevention from recessions, depressions and also lower the risk of inflation but is there a link between the gross domestic product and unemployment that plays a role in all this? And how does this effect the well being of an economy, also why was the Canadian recession of 2008 a proof of this direct but opposite link of GDP and unemployment. Now to connect the dots, it s easy to put out all these terms but not actually understand how they are related well the growth of GDP means there is more demand of products and if there is demand, companies need workers to make those products, hence there is lesser unemployment and the economy is growing and production rate is also increasing. If the rate growth is constantly decreasing with lesser demand and there is constant lower economic activity then the economy goes into recession.
