My media production uses many of the common forms and conventions of real music magazines. It has a one word title in a unique font positioned in the top left corner. It uses a small number of colors - red, black and white. The front cover features a large central image taking up the whole page, with cover lines framing the image. It includes the magazine's name, issue information, and a barcode. Inside, it has categories and headings to identify sections, multiple photographs relating to feature articles, and a contents page divided into those sections. The articles use styled fonts for headlines, a standfirst under the headline introducing the piece, quotes to break up text, and are written informally in a journalistic style.

PROBLEMS

I have created a PowerPoint presentation highlighting areas where my music product could be promoted, including a promotional package showing different advertising options and their effectiveness. I believe professionally promoting my product in areas like YouTube, VEVO, iTunes, music magazines, and music stores will increase views, popularity, and sales by targeting audiences interested in pop rock music.

This SlideShare includes shots which were not included in the original animatic. This was due to the timings being confused as I realised that I had missed these shots out after continuing with the storyboard so I must take this into consideration when creating my official promotional device.

- 22. First Draft Feedback 1: The first element of feedback I received was that suggesting that I should alternate the fonts used on my cover lines to show variation between each of them. I was told this is conventional of music magazines and will help make my magazine a lot more industry standard I was told my barcode also appeared slightly smaller in scale in comparison to other industry standard products, so I will research this and make changes if necessary. I was also given advice to maybe fill in the blank space that is located to the right of my models head. I am yet to think of something that will fit but I will research conventional ways of doing so and make changes accordingly. I was also given feedback with regards to my date, I must add the year not only on the barcode, but on the obvious cover too.
