Essay On Cvs Pharmacy
Convenience and health come together at CVS which is a nationwide convenience and pharmacy store
located on many street corners and busy intersections around America. Their mission statement is a
very simple and concise yet powerful one We will be the easiest pharmacy retailer for customers to
use. I chose this company because it occurred to me at one doctor s visit that whenever they asked if I
had a pharmacy near me, I always responded with CVS. There are also many of it s competitors near
in proximity but my mind always instinctually responded with their business. The company s credo
that is reflected on most of the brands pages now is how they re reinventing pharmacy . The company

Services provided include wellness checkups, physicals, smoking cessation, medical weight loss,
common vaccinations, treatment for minor illness and injuries including bronchitis, flu, strep throat,
bladder infections, minor burns and cuts, insect stings, and more. By providing this service, CVS has
poised itself to be a useful stop for non emergency health visits that customers can seek out while
waiting for their primary care physician appointments and freeing up emergency rooms to handle
more acute care needs. Costs are typically covered by insurance or are less expensive than a traditional
doctor visit for patients that don t have insurance. The latest development for CVS was acquiring the
nationwide network of Target store pharmacies. As of December 2015, their network has grown to
include 1,672 pharmacies across 47 states and will operate them through a store within a store format,
branded as CVS/pharmacy. Taking their reach of well over 10,000 places where a consumer could find
health access from prescription refills to checkups to weight loss consultations and

Why Is California High Speed Rail Bad
(FIRST DRAFT) California State Infrastructure Spending: High speed Rail a Bad Idea
The California High Speed Rail is a high speed rail system currently under construction in California
and is a bad idea for the state. During the November election in 2008, Californians were asked to
approve a $45 billion bullet train. Proposition 1A passed, but just barely. Since then just about
everything the voters were promised in 2008 about the rail system has changed. With a $45 billion
price tag, and with far from an overwhelming mandate at 52% of the votes, this project is far from
being built. The first phase of the system could be completed by 2029, provided that additional funds
are obtained. Phase 2 (which has no timetable yet) was originally planned to extend the system
northerly in the Central Valley to the Sacramento Valley Station in Sacramento, and southerly (through
the Inland Empire) to the San Diego International Airport in San Diego. That too has changed,
Sacramento and San Diego are now not even mentioned in future planning. ... Show more content on

The system will now share tracks with commuter trains in the Bay Area and Los Angeles. A far cry
from the dedicated highspeed rail San Diego to Los Angeles to the Bay Area and Sacramento that
voters approved in 2008. Construction on the initial 130 mile segment running from Merced to
Bakersfield began in 2015 and is expected to end in 2019, after which Amtrak s San Joaquin is
proposed to first use the High Speed Rail (HSR) tracks for faster conventional rail service until HSR
trains use the line to its full potential. The last thing California needs right now is to add billions more
in bond debt. Beside the fact there are other pressing infrastructure needs in the state (the Oroville
Dam for example), Californians simply cannot afford it. There are other major reasons California
shouldn t move forward on this particular

Is Hannibal Lecter s Integrity In The Film Silence Of The...
The film Silence of the Lambs risks its integrity by banking heavily on the interactions between the
two main actors to keep the viewer engaged;Though a lot is wagered in this move, much is gleaned as
Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster both proved their worth bringing in countless awards for their
performances. The film closely follows Clarice Starling, a budding FBI agent in training, as she
follows the case of serial killer, Buffalo Bill. As opposed to most horror movies, there is not one sole
villain; Hannibal Lecter is a sort of grey area character due to the fact that he is a psychotic,
cannibalistic killer, but he in fact actually assists in the apprehension of Buffalo Bill. Though she is
supposed to be working as part of a team, throughout ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This can be seen by just glancing at the dvd case, as the Death s head Hawkmoth is actually
constructed with 7 bodies; this makes quite a lot of sense since they could easily represent the 7
victims in this film. The moth, in its simplest interpretation, symbolizes change. This is so blatantly
obvious that Lecter literally says The significance of the moth is change . That which is referred to
with the theme of change is much less obvious however, as it could represent a number of the
characters. I believe it most closely is to exemplify Clarice s journey from a woman trying to become
recognized in the law enforcement world, to an FBI agent who, by her self, conquers her demons by
silencing her lambs, by taking down serial killer, Buffalo Bill. Interesting that I would mention Lambs
right? It s no coincidence. Lambs are beautiful, innocent and helpless, needing a caretaker for
nurturing, impotent against the slaughterer. Clarice tried to intervene on their behalf, and failed.
Because of this, she has always heard lambs screaming in the back of her mind. Enter this film, and
Starling herself becomes the lamb, constantly the prey of men such as Lecter and Bill who seem just
to be waiting to jump at the chance to slaughter her (one butchers his victims, while the other eats
them). Ironically, it is Lecter, who we think of as the slaughterer, that

The Diving Bell And The Butterfly
1. How do stroke survivors (or others with a chronic illness) and health care providers remain hopeful
and realistic ? What values are involved in maintaining hope while being realistic?
I believe the way individuals who suffer from chronic illness or are recovering from incidences,
remain hopeful and realistic by utilizing their support system, understanding that progress cannot
occur overnight, and by reveling in the small accomplishments which are motivating. In the book, The
Diving Bell and The Butterfly, initially we see Jean Dominique pitying himself and remember what

him the new form of communication, shows the exact way he was ... Show more content on

2. Those with a devastating illness often have a need to tell their stories. How can others ensure that
they are able to tell their stories, and how does telling one s story impact the way patients are treated?
Sometimes listening is the best way to help someone out. I believe that someone would be able to
make sure a person story was told by listening and possibly sharing the experience with others. In the
case of Jean Dominique, he utilized a book contract he had before the accident to express his story.
Through this book I could visual all the amazing traveling expeditions he went on. When he talked
about walking down the street of Lourdes and seeing all the people making their way down this path
hoping for a miracle, it struck me. He was able to discuss this event and relate it to his current
predicament. I feel like in other instances, a person can tell their stories through vocal recordings,
speaking with loved ones, creating illustrations, or even sharing pictures. A person might take part in
one of those activities and then ask or make note of their wishes for those stories to be shared. My
grandmother passed not too long ago, and I know that whenever I get a change I try to talk about her
life and even try to learn more about the experiences she had. When I learn of new things about her, I
am always dying to share the information with others because I want others to know and

Family Planning And Birth Control
Family planning is one of the most important choices women or couples can end up deciding on.
When it comes to family planning, timing is pretty much everything. There are some instances when
women have a hard time deciding if they are physically and mentally prepared to bring a child into
this world. This is when pregnancy options come into play, such as whether or not to raise a child, to
what birth control to take, and if abortion or adoption is an option that they might consider. However,
when women are faced with that uncertainty of becoming a mother the topic of birth control is
typically addressed when family planning. Throughout the ages, birth control methods have evolved in
order to provide women with the ability to effectively prevent pregnancy. There are in fact many
different varieties of birth control that help prevent unwanted pregnancies and that don t ultimately
interfere with the physiological changes that occur within a woman s body. The variety of the
available birth control methods and devices allows identification of methods of varying degrees of
effectiveness, mechanism
( preventing fertilization fusion of egg cell and sperm or preventing implantation of a fertilized egg
cell), and interference with physiological changes that occur in the female body (natural birth control
methods and artificial methods of contraception) (Kulesza, Dobrzycka, Sobieranska, Korzeniecka
Terlikowski, 2014)
Birth control doesn t just involve wearing a condom, using the

Joaquin Archivaldo Guzman Loera ( El Chapo
Joaquin Archivaldo Guzman Loera (El Chapo) was born on December 25, 1954 in the community of
Badiraguato, Sinaloa, Mexico. His parents were Emilio Guzman Bustilos and Maria Consuelo Loera
Perez. He grew up on his father s cattle ranch with his two younger sisters, Amida and Bernarda, and
four younger brothers, Miguel Angel, Aureliano, Arturo and Emilio. It is also known that his father
was an opium farmer. Throughout Guzman s childhood he was often beaten by his father for standing
up to him. Usually protecting his younger siblings therefore he ended up taking his father s wrath.
Guzman dropped out of the third grade to work for his father, this was due to the fact that the nearest
school was 60 miles away and the family could not afford to commute. With little education and few
opportunities for employment in his hometown, he became to help cultivate opium for his father. His
brothers also joined the family business when they came of age. They would harvest the plant by the
kilos and his father would sell it to other suppliers. Guzman became tired of his father s
mismanagement, so he started growing and cultivating his own marijuana plantation with a few distant
cousins. He then became financially able to support his family, while his father could not. This ended
up leading to his father kicking him out due to jealousy. He then went to live with his grandfather, this
is where he earned his nickname El Chapo, which means shorty. This due to the fact that he was 5 6

Differences Between Generation And Generation
Anyone who is familiar with our generation knows that our generation is extremely different from our
parents generation. Thus, creates a gap between the two generations, and has been acknowledged by
many sociologists. Aside from today s young people inability to accomplish the millstones of
becoming an adult, there is lot more differences between this generation and the older generation.
Therefore, in this essay, I will be comparing and contrasting both generations. From how their career
expectations are different, what was their definition of happiness, and how their parents played a role
on making their dream or expectation turn into reality? To begin with, let me tell you a little bit about
my generation. We are the generations that zd6was born between the late 1970s and the mid 1990s.
The Gen Y has we are call, was raise by the baby boomers our parents generation. Growing up, as Tim
Urban stated in his article; Why Generation Y Yuppies Are Unhappy , we were raised with a sense of
optimism and unbounded possibility (par 6). Moreover, what our parents didn t tell us, is that we have
to devote most of our entire life to achieve those possibility. However, our parents generation the baby
boomers, born in the 50s, raised by our grandparents. Were raised to build practical, secured careers
(Urban par 4) But another for them to get to stable career they have to go through hard time, bad
decisions and loss of love ones. And that brought us to career

These are political sermons clearly intended to endorse the sentiments being expressed Time Warner

And it doesn t relieve a company of responsibility for the messages it chooses to promote. Judgment is

The Hippie Movement of the 1960 s Essay example
The hippie subculture was originally a youth movement beginning in the United States around the
early 1960s and consisted of a group of people who opposed political and social orthodoxy, choosing
an ideology that favored peace, love, and personal freedom. The hippies rejected established
institutions, criticized middle class values, opposed nuclear weapons and the Vietnam War, were
usually eco friendly and vegetarians, and promoted the use of psychedelic drugs. They created their
own communities, listened to psychedelic rock, embraced the sexual revolution, and used drugs to
explore alternative states of consciousness. They strived to liberate themselves from societal

hippie movement to be a religious reform. Following in the footsteps of The Beats, the hippies also
used marijuana, considering it pleasurable and benign. Other than marijuana, the most commonly used
drug among the hippies was the hallucinogen LSD, more commonly known as acid. They also used
other hallucinogens such as psilocybin and mescaline. They used these drugs to achieve self
exploration and believed these drugs were capable of Expanding your consciousness in order to find
ecstasy and revelation within. Amphetamines and heroin were also used in hippie settings; however,
these drugs were considered harmful and addictive. By 1965, hippies had become an established
social group in the United States, which eventually permeated worldwide through music, literature,
the dramatic arts, fashion, and the visual arts. By June 1966, around 15,000 hippies moved into the
Haight Ashbury district of San Francisco. On October 6, 1966 California declared LSD a controlled
substance making it illegal. In response, San Francisco hippies gathered in the Golden Gate Park and

Fighting Terrorism without Infringing on Human Rights Essay
This essay will explore assumption that we can fight terrorism without infringing upon human rights.
Prominent advocate for this assumption is obviously Mary Robinson, UN High Commissioner for
Human Rights, who urged states to adhere to their international obligations to uphold human rights
and fundamental freedoms when conducting counterterrorism . This has become a key component of
UN endorsed Global Counterterrorism strategy. Another key leader, supporter of this assumption
former US President Jimmy Carter in his remarks on Human Rights Defenders conference said: policy

So, although terrorism involves spreading fear and terror, prosecution of terrorists should stay within
accepted standards regarding human rights. In this regard, Norway certainly set the standard in dealing
with lone wolf case of Anders Behring Breivik.
To further test this assumption we need to look into CT efficiency in several cases where we had
human rights violations. First one is obviously Guantanamo Bay case. This prison has become
destination for captured Talibans from Afghanistan but also for all alleged and proved terrorist from
around the world. It is in some way legal black hole [3] which can even nod on human rights
violations. Although US declared War on Terror, detainees in Guantanamo were not entitled to POW
status arguing that Al Qaida is not a country, hence these fighter were not protected by Geneva
Conventions. Human treatment at Guantanamo was very harsh: torture and degrading treatment or
punishments.[4] After number of years of discussion and number of cases that proved ill treatment,
President Obama signed order for closure of detention facility on January 22, 2009 and also banned
the harshest interrogation techniques used.[5] This brought lots of negative publicity for
counterterrorism.
Second case to consider is issue of human rights in drone attacks in Pakistan and Jemen. Amnesty
International raised the question of legality of these attacks that resulted in unlawful killings

Perfect Baseball Player
The perfect baseball player has a something called the 5 Tools which include speed, hitting for power,
arm strength, hitting for average, and fielding. We have all heard of a top prospect being compared to
one of the greatest athletes of all time. There are times that these prospects turn out to be really good,
but unfortunately there are times that we have witnessed a prospect become a bust. The one thing
missing from that I believe should be added to that list is the ability to have an instinctive mind. A
perfect baseball player needs to have dedication for the game, good eyesight, and be in great physical
shape.
Many of the latest baseball prospects that have made it to the big leads have become some of the best
baseball players around. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First off, it seems like this player knows that the ball will be either a strike or ball before the pitch is
released. Ben Zobrist is always at the top of the list for taking walks. He also can play almost any
position and that requires a lot of dedication and is extremely great shape for being at the age of 35.
The next player is Mike Trout who can react to a fly ball like a cheetah chasing its prey. He has
incredible power and speed for his size compared to a lot of the other great baseball players which in
large part is due to the fact that he is in incredible shape. Finally, Javier Baez is always full of energy
and can make some of the most impossible defensive plays. For example, he has the quickest hands in
the game of baseball and can take a close tag play and tag the guy out by a mile. His teammate David
Ross, who has been around for a very long time, stated I played with Gold Glovers. I ve played with
Jackie Bradley Jr. (in Boston), who is probably the best center fielder I ve ever played with. I m not
taking anything away from anybody I played with. Javier Baez, at his age (23), has the best hands,
arm, and feel for the game. I m not taking anything away from his bat. He s got a great bat. But this
dude is a baseball player. He knows how to run the bases, knows where to throw the ball. He s got

The Evolution of TCPIP and The Internet Essay
The Evolution of TCPIP and The Internet The Evolution of TCP/IP (and the Internet)
While the TCP/IP protocols and the Internet are different, their evolution are most definitely parallel.
This section will discuss some of the history.
Prior to the 1960s, what little computer communication existed comprised simple text and binary data,
carried by the most common telecommunications network technology of the day; namely, circuit
switching, the technology of the telephone networks for nearly a hundred years. Because most data
traffic transmissions occur during a very short period of time, circuit switching results in highly
inefficient use of network resources. In 1962, Paul Baran, of the Rand Corporation, described a robust,

The original ARPANET gave life to a number of protocols that were new to packet switching. One of
the most lasting results of the ARPANET was the development of a user network protocol that has
become the standard interface between users and packet switched networks; namely, ITU T (formerly
CCITT) Recommendation X.25. This standard interface encouraged BBN to start Telenet, a
commercial packet switched data service, in 1974; after much renaming, Telenet is now a part of
Sprint s X.25 service.
The initial host to host communications protocol introduced in the ARPANET was called the Network
Control Protocol (NCP). Over time, however, NCP proved to be incapable of keeping up with the
growing network traffic load. In 1974, a new, more robust suite of communications protocols was
proposed and implemented throughout the ARPANET, based upon the Transmission Control Protocol
(TCP) and Internet Protocol (IP). TCP and IP were originally envisioned functionally as a single
protocol, thus the protocol suite, which actually refers to a large collection of protocols and
applications, is usually referred to simply as TCP/IP. The original versions of both TCP and IP that are
in common use today were written in September 1981, although both have had several modifications
applied to them (in addition, the IP version 6, or IPv6, specification was released in December 1995).
In 1983, the DoD mandated that all of their computer systems would use the TCP/IP protocol suite for

Impact of the Recession on Construction Contractors
THE IMPACT OF THE GLOBAL FINANCIAL CRISIS ON THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY
JANUARY 2009
INTRODUCTION
The current crisis in the world s financial system has left the construction industry facing its toughest
challenges for a generation. Salaries are falling; job cuts are predicted to reach 400,000 in England
alone; and the impacts look set to get much worse before they get better.
No country is immune from the impact of this and the UK, and much of the rest of the world, is
already in, or about to enter a recession. Even buoyant construction markets such as the United Arab
Emirates (UAE) are starting to feel the effect, with construction growth rate expected to slow from
20% to 15% in 2009 (Al Mal Capital). The United Nations (UN) ... Show more content on

The fiscal mitigation measures that were recently announced by the Chancellor (Pre budget statement,
November 2008) were not sufficient to address the underlying loss of confidence facing all UK
businesses (and people).
More innovative ways could be investigated by Government to help the industry survive, such as
providing credit insurance; relaxing bonding requirements on public projects; setting up project bank
accounts; and providing tax breaks/concessions for sustainable construction R D. At present, the latter
has effectively ground to a halt largely as a result of the deeply entrenched uncertainty that abound.
Jobs Loss of Skills
Almost 400,000 jobs in the construction sector in England could be lost over the next two years
(assuming GDP shrinks by 2.2% in 2009 and rises by 0.75% in 2010). It is predicted that the worst
affected area will be London, where 23% of workers are expected to be made redundant (Public and
Corporate Economic Consultants for the Local Government Association).
On the other hand, Eastern Europeans are responding to the downturn in the market by returning
home, and this has eased the severity of the job situation in many instances.
Given the forecasts for construction output in 2009, it could be assumed that jobs in the public sector
may offer more security than those in the private sector. This reinforces the need for Government to
establish how an accelerated public spending package will be

False Killer Dolphins
According to Vancouver Aquarium, the false killer whale was first discovered as a skeleton, not as a
live dolphin. Because its skull looks similar to a killer whale s skull scientists called it a false killer
whale (Pseudorca).
Despite having whale in its name, the false killer whale is actually a large dolphin like its namesake
the killer whale . The difference between a whale and a dolphin is much like the difference between a
ship and a boat . It has more to do with size than science. In fact, false killer whales are large dolphins.
They prefer tropical to temperate waters that are deeper than 3,300 feet (1000m) and occur in the U.S.
in Hawaii, along the entire West Coast, and from the Mid Atlantic coastal states south. The species can
also be found in all tropical and temperate oceans worldwide.[4] The young false killer whale in

Conscientious Political Leaders
As a result of his versatile background, Ronald Wright objectively communicates our development as
a race. His view on mankind s development epitomizing a warning for the destruction of our world, is
indeed where Wright s ideologies become apparent. One may believe that in this day and age, the
decisions mankind makes are conscientious; however, political leaders such as Ronald Reagan and
Donald Trump, whose policies geared towards economic prosperity over earthly protection, are far
apart in years yet similar in principle. Competitors such as Jimmy Carter and Hillary Clinton, both of
whom lost their respective elections, had policies involving environmental protection and social
reform. In spite of this, upon years of attempted nudges towards

The Historical Accuracy of Henry V by William Shakespeare...
The Historical Accuracy of Henry V
Henry V, written by William Shakespeare, is by far one of his more historically accurate plays. This
play is the life of young King Henry V, who ascended to the throne after his father, Henry IV s death.
These times were much different for England, as Henry V was a noble lord whom everyone loved,
whereas angry factions haunted his father s reign. Shakespeare portrays a fairly accurate account of
the historical Henry V, but certain parts are either inflated deflated, or conflated to dramatize Henry V
as a character suitable for a Renaissance audience.

How Did Sherman s Defeat At Kennesaw Mountain
On June 27, 1864 the Battle of Kennesaw Mountain was fought. The Union Army was currently
carrying out Sherman s March. Richard T Sherman was the commander of the Union Army and was
going up against the Confederate Army of Tennessee, commanded by Joseph E. Johnston. Sherman
was beating Johnston again and again with flanking maneuvers pushing the Confederates back all the
way to Kennesaw Mountain. Sherman decided to change his tactics and ordered a frontal assault
rather than another flanking maneuver. John Logan and his men assaulted Pigeon Hill while George
Thomas led his men on another aggressive attack on Cheatham Hill. Both failed miserably with costly
casualties. The Union did however manage to gain position on the Confederate s left flank. With their
left flank exposed, the Confederates withdrew. Sherman did suffer a tactical defeat at Kennesaw
Mountain but he still managed to continue his march to Atlanta It was a costly battle for the Union
because Sherman lost around 3,000 soldiers ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Social Conflict Theory Paper
Social conflict theory sees social life as a race and centers on the allocation of resources, power, and
inequality. Social conflict theory is a Marxist based social theory which argues that individuals and
groups (social classes) within society interact based on conflict rather than consensus. More powerful
groups will tend to use their power in order to retain power and exploit groups with less power
(Butler, 1991; Payne, 2015). According to conflict theory, those with wealth and power try to hold on
to it by any means possible, chiefly by suppressing the poor and powerless (Collins, 1990). Moreover,
the theory revolves around concepts of social inequality in the division of resources and focuses on the
conflicts that exist between classes.

Snowpiercer Dystopian
The most alarming aspect of dystopias stem from their power to challenge personal and societal values
surrounding the central notion of what it means to be human. This instigates the startling realisation

Earthworm Research Paper
The Earthworm is a crucial component of the environment due to their interactions with soil which
then, in turn, provides benefits to other living organisms such as their burrowing behavior, which
allows nutrients, air, and water to delve deeper into the soil. After soil is swallowed by the pharynx,
the food matter is sent through the esophagus and into the crop, where the soil is stored until it

The liver secretes a bile to aid in the digestion process and the pyloric cecum allows fermentation to

Forgetfulness By Billy Collins Analysis
With the two poems The Dead and Forgetfulness written by Billy Collins, I was drawn to these two
poems more than the others. When it comes to any poem I prefer the poems that allow me to imagine
what is going on. They need to have well thought out imagery. With The Dead and Forgetfulness they
both allow me to really imagine what is happening. They both use metaphors while doing this. With
imagery, they both show me with humans being alive we forget to easily but when we are dead we
cannot forget, we see it all. In Billy Collins s poems The Dead and Forgetfulness, the imagery and
diction help shape the ideas of the poem, the animations help to tie in the best of the poem and help

Summary Of The Reverse Dive By Jessamyn Hope
And it hits me, not then, but today, thirty years later. Thirty years too late (91). Those are the words of
Jessamyn Hope when speaking about her experience with regret regarding her life s decisions, the
major theme for her essay. Her essay tells the story about how she failed to overcome two life
challenges, one having a direct physical impact and the other having a delayed impact. The essay The
Reverse Dive by Jessamyn Hope is a narrative essay looking to persuade its reader through the use of
analogy, empirical evidence, and appeal to emotion that one should face their challenges while they
can to avoid regrets.
Hope uses the analogy of the reverse dive and copping with her mother s illness to convey to the
reader that being around a loved one when experiencing something like this could be as scary as
attempting a death defying trick. These two challenges are implied to be connected. Hope states that

Elevated Blood Pressure
Blood pressure readings are noted in two separate areas, the systolic and diastole. The systole (top
number) is the pressure within the arteries when the heart is contracting and pushing the blood
forward. When a blood pressure is above the normal range this is notation that the heart is having to
work harder to pump the blood properly within the system. The diastole (bottom number) is the
pressure within the arteries when the heart is relaxed. A normal blood pressure reading is 120/80,
139/89 is pre hypertensive and 140/90 and higher is labeled as hypertensive. Elevated blood pressures
can be divided into two separate categories, this is primary and secondary hypertension (HTN) (Egan

A moment may change everything to evil or good in our life and community.
Some events occurred may have affects in several ways. September 11, 2001 was a historic day in the
United States. Four airplanes were hijacked by terrorists. The first one crashed into the Pentagon in
Washington, D.C. The second plane was stopped by passengers. The two of them crashed the biggest
towers in the U.S which are the World Trade Center in New York. On that day 3,000 people died.
These occasions changed American s economy, American culture and the relationship with other

Third, after the September 11 attack, the relationship has undergone some profound changes between

prosper, by recording our knowledge and preserving our thoughts. Kathryn Stockett s historical fiction
novel The Help, about the experiences of black maids in 1960 s Mississippi, features many symbols
and examples of the powers and advantages of writing. This includes the book and articles Skeeter

Aibileen is shown to be a great writer and instrumental in getting Skeeter s book off the ground. Ever
since Aibileen dropped out of school to pay the bills, she has been practicing her writing in the
aforementioned prayer book. Indeed, Aibileen s son, Treelore Clark, had been working on a novel
about working as a black man in Jackson which inspired Skeeter s book. Unfortunately, Treelore was
killed before he was able to finish his book and testify against the racism and prejudice of the South.
Even with this seed of dissent motivating her, Aibileen was unable to bring herself to talk about her
experiences until she wrote them down. For Aibileen, writing is like writing to God she is wholly
truthful. it allows her to be more truthful and organize her thoughts, which proves instrumental in
telling her story: telling the truth. In The Help, writing is used to allow the truth to be told about their
unique experiences. Writing has the power to solidify ideas, for better or for worse. Putting things on
paper makes it much clearer than anything you keep in your head. For example, when Skeeter Phelan
stumbles upon a book describing all the Jim Crow laws of the South, they suddenly become much
more profound much more real. Skeeter had been exposed to these ideas for her entire life ( We all

Alcoholic Beverages an introduction
Alcoholic beverages have been around for thousands of years, some Stone Age beer jugs show that
fermented beverages were being produced as early as 10,000 B.C.[Hanson, David J. 1997]. In the past
beer was used as a substitute to drinking water, it was considered safer due to the unsanitary ways that
water was delivered, as the process boiled off any bacteria [Cahill, Mero M. There are many different
types of alcoholic beverages on the market, these are classified into the following groups beer, wine
and spirits (Alcoholic Beverages).
Beer According to [Motarjemi, Yasmine Moy, Gerald Todd, Ewen. 2014] beers are alcoholic
beverages brewed from germinated barley (malt), hops, yeast and water. It is also stated that beer can
be dated back to 9500BC, making it one of the worlds oldest prepared beverages.

Human Experimentation Persuasive Essay

saying that society often forgets the contribution human experimentation has had in vaccines, medical

In 2011 a little girl diagnosed with Cancer named Emily was given the opportunity to be one of the
first patients to volunteer for human experimentation were doctors inject genetically modified HIV

taken too far. For example in the early 1900s specifically 1930s the holocaust began. The holocaust as
we all know was a devastating, heartbreaking, and cold time, but we also must remind ourselves that
yet it was a sad and devastating piece of history it also was a breakthrough in science. During the time

The Differing Perspectives of Greek Philosophers Essay
Unlike Parmenides and Heraclitus, who took a clear stance on whether being is changing or
unchanging, Empedocles argued that things do change, but these objects are composed of materials
that do not change. The change that we see is merely a cause of the interaction and changes in position
of the four basic elements (earth, air, fire, and water). Much like Heraclitus and his views that orderly
change is brought about by the logos , Empedocles also recognized that there was a force responsible
for the change brought about. In his case, changes in the forms and positions of the basic elements was
an effect of two forces love and strife (or more commonly known as the forces of attraction and

Not until recently did we find that atoms, which were assumed to be matter s basic particles, where
themselves made up of even smaller particles. So in that sense, Anaximander is correct in his
philosophy of there being a pure substance , which is the root of everything that we see.
Heraclitus and Parmenides both recognized that the materials which make up the universe could be
broken down to one basic substance, but they came to disagreement over what that basic substance
was exactly, as well as the state of being. Heraclitus believed that everything was fire (or made of
fire), and that it was the fundamental source of change in the universe because a main property of the
universe was that it was in a constant state of changing. Parmenides argued that the entire idea of
change was impossible and that the universe was essentially unmoving and unchanging. Parmenides
was a Monist, so he held the idea that the world is unitary, and that all the individuals in it are part of
an even greater unified whole. One of his arguments that motion and states of being are impossible.

While these (rail agencies) have not expanded their services into Penn Station as much as New Jersey

availabilities with regards to its Metro North Railroad. Two of the aforementioned railroad s lines, the
New Haven and Hudson Line are being looked upon as for having the potential to arrive in Penn
Station rather than terminating into Grand Central Terminal through already existing trackage. The
New Haven Line can utilize the same tracks that Amtrak trains use to run from Penn Station to (New
Rochelle), where it connects to Metro North s New Haven Line; the latter line can run along Amtrak s
Hell Gate Line with the possiblity of adding new train station along the way within the vicinities of Co
op City, Parkchester, and Hunts Point before reaching 34th street. The Hudson Line can run along
Amtrak s Empire Connection line that the agency uses to allow its Empire Service trains to transfer
from Metro North s Hudson Line into Penn Station. Along the line, new rail stations may be
implemented within the vicinities of West 125th and West 62nd Streets in Manhattan s West Side.
While an impressive feat, any developments along these lines will have to be (slowed down) until the
East Side Access is completed, allowing LIRR trains to terminate at Grand Central Terminal instead of
Penn Station; rail traffic in the station is high enough as it is to allow for more trains from a fourth

What Is The Domino Theory Related To The Vietnam War
During World War II there was a total of about 40 days of combat in four years, whereas during the
Vietnam War there were 240 days of combat in one year. The Vietnam War was both devastating and
deceiving. America was not able to successfully save South Vietnam from communist rule, and yet
they still suffered a great amount of loss. The Vietnam War presented a plethora of issue to the United
States and Southeast Asia. The United States suffered a lot of casualties and the U.S. lost a lot of
money. Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos also suffered many casualties and Cambodia and Laos were no
longer peaceful. The war was deceiving because the United States government was not completely
honest about secret attacks on Laos and Cambodia. The Vietnam War should not have happened
because it affected citizens in America, it brought neutral countries into a war, and all of the countries
involved suffered tremendous ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
President Dwight Eisenhower said, You have a row of dominoes set up; you knock over the first one,
and what will happen to the last one is that it will go over very quickly, which supports that he firmly
believed in this theory. Because of the domino theory, the United States felt it was their duty to stop
the spread of communism in Asia. So, the United States did have good intentions in the Vietnam War,
but in the end, the goal of protecting South Vietnam was not successful. The United States, after many
years of fighting, started to withdraw troops from Vietnam in June of 1969. Finally, on January 27,
1973, the United States fully withdrew from the Vietnam War. Even though the United States
withdrew before the end of the war, the damage was already gone. On April 30, 1975, Saigon fell to
North Vietnam; the United States had failed to complete their end goal and the loss was not worth

Xbox 360 History
Many people have heard of Microsoft. Many people have also heard of their product known as
Windows. Windows is a computer operating system. Even though Microsoft only worked on
computers, they released their first ever video game console known as the Xbox in late 2001. The
Xbox had newer, upgraded versions of the console later on such as the Xbox 360 in 2005 and the
Xbox One in 2013. The idea of the Xbox first started when Kevin Bachus, Seamus Blackley, Otto
Berkes, and Ted Hase were working on developing the DirectX. The DirectX was a set of API s
(application programming interfaces) that was introduced by Microsoft in 1995 which encouraged
videogame developers to embrace their Windows operating system. These men approached Bill ...

This was good, however, it had some consequences. When the Xbox 360 was released as quickly as
possible, huge, technical problems with the console caused Microsoft to replace or repair most of the
consoles. This made video game designers learn valuable lessons about taking time with their products
(Lasky). There were many different designs of the Xbox 360, such as the Pro, Premium, Elite, and
Arcade (Loguidice). There are two current Xbox 360 S (slim) models which are the Xbox 360 250GB
and the Xbox 360 4GB. These models are similar because they both include 5 USB (universal serial
bus) 2.0. ports and a custom port for the Kinect sensor. They also have optical digital audio with built
in WiFi (Loguidice). They also are sleeker, smaller, and run quieter and cooler than their predecessors
( Loguidice). The Xbox 360 4GB and the Xbox 360 250GB are also different. The Xbox 360 4GB (as
the name implies) has 4GB of storage. This is enough for playing physical copies of games, but not
for downloaded games. A hard drive can be purchased to get more space though. This model also costs
$100 less than the Xbox 360 250GB. The Xbox 360 250GB model includes a 250GB hard drive and a
headset. It costs $100 more than the Xbox 360 4GB

  • 2. Essay On Cvs Pharmacy Convenience and health come together at CVS which is a nationwide convenience and pharmacy store located on many street corners and busy intersections around America. Their mission statement is a very simple and concise yet powerful one We will be the easiest pharmacy retailer for customers to use. I chose this company because it occurred to me at one doctor s visit that whenever they asked if I had a pharmacy near me, I always responded with CVS. There are also many of it s competitors near in proximity but my mind always instinctually responded with their business. The company s credo that is reflected on most of the brands pages now is how they re reinventing pharmacy . The company has been making rapid advances in their service offerings ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Services provided include wellness checkups, physicals, smoking cessation, medical weight loss, common vaccinations, treatment for minor illness and injuries including bronchitis, flu, strep throat, bladder infections, minor burns and cuts, insect stings, and more. By providing this service, CVS has poised itself to be a useful stop for non emergency health visits that customers can seek out while waiting for their primary care physician appointments and freeing up emergency rooms to handle more acute care needs. Costs are typically covered by insurance or are less expensive than a traditional doctor visit for patients that don t have insurance. The latest development for CVS was acquiring the nationwide network of Target store pharmacies. As of December 2015, their network has grown to include 1,672 pharmacies across 47 states and will operate them through a store within a store format, branded as CVS/pharmacy. Taking their reach of well over 10,000 places where a consumer could find health access from prescription refills to checkups to weight loss consultations and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Why Is California High Speed Rail Bad (FIRST DRAFT) California State Infrastructure Spending: High speed Rail a Bad Idea The California High Speed Rail is a high speed rail system currently under construction in California and is a bad idea for the state. During the November election in 2008, Californians were asked to approve a $45 billion bullet train. Proposition 1A passed, but just barely. Since then just about everything the voters were promised in 2008 about the rail system has changed. With a $45 billion price tag, and with far from an overwhelming mandate at 52% of the votes, this project is far from being built. The first phase of the system could be completed by 2029, provided that additional funds are obtained. Phase 2 (which has no timetable yet) was originally planned to extend the system northerly in the Central Valley to the Sacramento Valley Station in Sacramento, and southerly (through the Inland Empire) to the San Diego International Airport in San Diego. That too has changed, Sacramento and San Diego are now not even mentioned in future planning. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The system will now share tracks with commuter trains in the Bay Area and Los Angeles. A far cry from the dedicated highspeed rail San Diego to Los Angeles to the Bay Area and Sacramento that voters approved in 2008. Construction on the initial 130 mile segment running from Merced to Bakersfield began in 2015 and is expected to end in 2019, after which Amtrak s San Joaquin is proposed to first use the High Speed Rail (HSR) tracks for faster conventional rail service until HSR trains use the line to its full potential. The last thing California needs right now is to add billions more in bond debt. The film Silence of the Lambs risks its integrity by banking heavily on the interactions between the two main actors to keep the viewer engaged;Though a lot is wagered in this move, much is gleaned as Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster both proved their worth bringing in countless awards for their performances. The film closely follows Clarice Starling, a budding FBI agent in training, as she follows the case of serial killer, Buffalo Bill. As opposed to most horror movies, there is not one sole villain; Hannibal Lecter is a sort of grey area character due to the fact that he is a psychotic, cannibalistic killer, but he in fact actually assists in the apprehension of Buffalo Bill. This can be seen by just glancing at the dvd case, as the Death s head Hawkmoth is actually constructed with 7 bodies; this makes quite a lot of sense since they could easily represent the 7 victims in this film. The moth, in its simplest interpretation, symbolizes change. This is so blatantly obvious that Lecter literally says The significance of the moth is change . That which is referred to with the theme of change is much less obvious however, as it could represent a number of the characters. I believe it most closely is to exemplify Clarice s journey from a woman trying to become recognized in the law enforcement world, to an FBI agent who, by her self, conquers her demons by silencing her lambs, by taking down serial killer, Buffalo Bill. Interesting that I would mention Lambs right? It s no coincidence. Lambs are beautiful, innocent and helpless, needing a caretaker for nurturing, impotent against the slaughterer. Clarice tried to intervene on their behalf, and failed. Because of this, she has always heard lambs screaming in the back of her mind. Enter this film, and Starling herself becomes the lamb, constantly the prey of men such as Lecter and Bill who seem just to be waiting to jump at the chance to slaughter her (one butchers his victims, while the other eats them). Those with a devastating illness often have a need to tell their stories. How can others ensure that they are able to tell their stories, and how does telling one s story impact the way patients are treated? Sometimes listening is the best way to help someone out. I believe that someone would be able to make sure a person story was told by listening and possibly sharing the experience with others. In the case of Jean Dominique, he utilized a book contract he had before the accident to express his story. Through this book I could visual all the amazing traveling expeditions he went on. When he talked about walking down the street of Lourdes and seeing all the people making their way down this path hoping for a miracle, it struck me. • 6. Family Planning And Birth Control Family planning is one of the most important choices women or couples can end up deciding on. When it comes to family planning, timing is pretty much everything. There are some instances when women have a hard time deciding if they are physically and mentally prepared to bring a child into this world. This is when pregnancy options come into play, such as whether or not to raise a child, to what birth control to take, and if abortion or adoption is an option that they might consider. However, when women are faced with that uncertainty of becoming a mother the topic of birth control is typically addressed when family planning. Throughout the ages, birth control methods have evolved in order to provide women with the ability to effectively prevent pregnancy. There are in fact many different varieties of birth control that help prevent unwanted pregnancies and that don t ultimately interfere with the physiological changes that occur within a woman s body. The variety of the available birth control methods and devices allows identification of methods of varying degrees of effectiveness, mechanism ( preventing fertilization fusion of egg cell and sperm or preventing implantation of a fertilized egg cell), and interference with physiological changes that occur in the female body (natural birth control methods and artificial methods of contraception) (Kulesza, Dobrzycka, Sobieranska, Korzeniecka Terlikowski, 2014) Birth control doesn t just involve wearing a condom, using the ... The Evolution of TCPIP and The Internet Essay The Evolution of TCPIP and The Internet The Evolution of TCP/IP (and the Internet) While the TCP/IP protocols and the Internet are different, their evolution are most definitely parallel. This section will discuss some of the history. Prior to the 1960s, what little computer communication existed comprised simple text and binary data, carried by the most common telecommunications network technology of the day; namely, circuit switching, the technology of the telephone networks for nearly a hundred years. Because most data traffic transmissions occur during a very short period of time, circuit switching results in highly inefficient use of network resources. The original ARPANET gave life to a number of protocols that were new to packet switching. One of the most lasting results of the ARPANET was the development of a user network protocol that has become the standard interface between users and packet switched networks; namely, ITU T (formerly CCITT) Recommendation X.25. This standard interface encouraged BBN to start Telenet, a commercial packet switched data service, in 1974; after much renaming, Telenet is now a part of Sprint s X.25 service. The initial host to host communications protocol introduced in the ARPANET was called the Network Control Protocol (NCP). Over time, however, NCP proved to be incapable of keeping up with the growing network traffic load. In 1974, a new, more robust suite of communications protocols was proposed and implemented throughout the ARPANET, based upon the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and Internet Protocol (IP). TCP and IP were originally envisioned functionally as a single protocol, thus the protocol suite, which actually refers to a large collection of protocols and applications, is usually referred to simply as TCP/IP. The original versions of both TCP and IP that are in common use today were written in September 1981, although both have had several modifications applied to them (in addition, the IP version 6, or IPv6, specification was released in December 1995). This instigates the startling realisation that the future is greatly dependent on value driven responses to the environmental, social and political issues of contemporary society. Korean director Joon Ho Bong s 2013 post apocalyptic dystopian film Snowpiercer depicts the environmental collapse of the Earth as a direct result of human response to global warming. When it comes to any poem I prefer the poems that allow me to imagine what is going on. They need to have well thought out imagery. With imagery, they both show me with humans being alive we forget to easily but when we are dead we cannot forget, we see it all.
