Why Is Django Unchained
The film Django Unchained directed by Quentin Tarantino is a distinguished cinema following a
character with a checkered past trying to find his true love. The film follows Django on his quest to
return to his wife Broomheilda. Aided by his mentor Dr. King Shultz, Django starts on a journey to
find his one true love. I chose this movie because it is a western epic about returning to your true love
after being forcefully separated. Also because Quentin Tarantino makes excellent movies and I saw a
lot of familiar faces. Finally the movie has some comedic parts while maintaining its serious overtone.
That is why I choose the movie Django Unchained. Django Unchained is a spaghetti western
following Django a slave in the pre civil war south. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is shown by Tarantino using the actor Christoph Waltz in the 2009 film Inglorious Bastards as the
main antagonist, a Nazi SS officer. Waltz plays the role of Dr. King Shultz; a dentist turned bounty
hunter in Django Unchained. Tarantino also does this with the actor Samuel L. Jackson who played
the role of Jules Winnfield in the 1994 classic Pulp Fiction. In Pulp Fiction Jules Winnfield is part of a
pair hitmen that work for crime boss Marsellus Wallace. In Django Unchained Samuel L. Jackson
plays the role of Stephen, a loyal to a fault servant who has gained the trust of Calvin Candie. Calvin
Candie being the owner of the candy land plantation. These actors have a lot of experience with his
directing style so they can really show their acting prowess. Django Unchained is a rather serious
movie with a lot of violence and gore, while still having humorous under tones. The film Django
unchained follows Django on his path to be reunited with his wife. Throughout that journey he and
Shultz experience many things, most serious while other just funny. After Django helps Shultz track
down and kill the brittle brother, the pair is force to leave the plantation. Later in the evening the

Paedobaptism
2. Reformed Theology of Paedobaptism Historically, Reformed paedobaptism supporters subscribe to
the doctrine paedobaptism through the circumcision/baptism analogy and the belief that paedobaptism
occurred during the apostolic age. While circumcision and baptism differ greatly in methodology, both
play a significant role throughout redemptive history. For example, God ordained the practice of
physical circumcision in a covenant with Abraham to signify his choosing of Abraham and his
offspring. Circumcision separated Abraham and his male offspring from the surrounding cultures and
religions; it made them unique (Gen. 17:1 14). Abraham responded to the covenant with passion and
purity. Consequently, obedience to God through the practice of ... Show more content on

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Open And Distance Education
Abstract:
Alternate platform of learning Open and Distance Learning (ODL) system of education gained
profound popularity around the world by 1960. It was promoted in early eighties when a bill was
passed by the Union Government and a central university was founded in the name of Indira Gandhi,
former Prime Minister, in 1985. To harmonize various distance learning institutes and maintain high
standards of education at national level, the Distance Education Council (DEC) was also formed under
the same Act. But in a developing country like India, it seems like a cloud on horizon while
implementing the related government policies especially in its rural and suburban parts. Although
conventional learning is still popular amongst the students, but ODL is the next generation education
system with innumerous advantages like flexibility, cost effectiveness, networking, education beyond
the borders and many more. This paper deals with the benefits, success, drawbacks and some
suggestions to overcome the present problems faced by ODL system in rural and suburban parts of
India.

Importance of Control in Business Organizations.
Define control and discuss the control process and the importance of control in business organizations.
* Define control
Management process in which the (1) actual performance is compared with planned performance, (2)
difference between the two is measured, (3) causes contributing to the difference are identified, and
(4) corrective action is taken to eliminate or minimize the difference
Control Process
The control process is a continuous flow in Taj between measuring, comparing and action. Naturally
Taj follows the four steps in the control process: establishing performance standards, measuring actual
performance, comparing measured performance against established standards, and taking corrective
action.

Step 2: Measure Actual Performance. Supervisors collect data to measure actual performance to
determine variation from standard. Written data might include time cards, production tallies,
inspection reports, and sales tickets. Personal observation, statistical reports, oral reports and written
reports can be used to measure performance. Management by walking around, or observation of
employees working, provides unfiltered information, extensive coverage, and the ability to read
between the lines. While providing insight, this method might be misinterpreted by employees as
mistrust. Oral reports allow for fast and extensive feedback.
In Taj computers give supervisors direct access to real time, unaltered data, and information. On line
systems enable supervisors to identify problems as they occur. Database programs allow supervisors
to query, spend less time gathering facts, and be less dependent on other people. Supervisors have
access to information at their fingertips. Employees can supply progress reports through the use of
networks and electronic mail. Statistical reports are easy to visualize and effective at demonstrating
relationships. Written reports provide comprehensive feedback that can be easily filed and referenced.
Computers are important tools for measuring performance. In fact, many operating processes depend

Advantage Of Competitive Federalism
The principle of federalism was introduced to ensure the government did not possess too much power
over a nation. The implementation of federalism allowed for a compromise to be made between the
states and national government. This compromise ensured that power was divided among the states
and the national government. Federalism remained very limited, much like boundaries to ensure
overstepping did not occur. The overall explanation for the principle of federalism and its origin dates
back to the need of a strong centralized government. Of course, federalism corrected the decentralized
powers and created a fair system to abide by that focused on the importance of division of power and
centralized government. There are various forms of federalism, one of which being competitive
federalism.
According to Dr. Michael Greve, competitive federalism seeks to discipline governments. It seeks to
discipline governments by allowing each government to compete for their citizen s business. The
concept of competitive federalism enables choice and change. Competitive federalism is not confined
to one government at all. Conversely, it allows for citizens to pick and choose which government they
wish to live under. There are benefits associated with competitive federalism which can include
various forms of innovation, product differentiation, choice of the consumers, and other services.
Federalism definitely empowers citizens because ultimately, they have the most say in what they

Forms Of Writing Style In Night By Elie Wiesel
Throughout all 109 pages of Elie Wiesel s memoir, Night, various forms of writing style make an
appearance. In describing his life during the Holocaust, Wiesel portrays his experiences in a very
straightforward manner. Wiesel inspires emotion within the reader through his minimalistic choice of
words and writing techniques, as well as painting a picture for the reader to help them imagine what
he had gone through. The style of writing used by Elie Wiesel in his memoir causes the readers to
pause and become more involved with his messages and words.
In his memoir, Wiesel displays the use of rhetorical questions to make the reader pause and think
about the words he uses in greater depth. The purpose of including these rhetorical questions is to
have the reader stop and place themselves in the situation. Also, to have them search for answers
when, in the end, there is none to be found. Wiesel enhances the writing of the memoir with rhetorical
questions on several occasions, such as when he writes, Why did I pray? A strange question. Why did
I live? Why did I breathe? (2). Here, he is proposing questions; however, he seeks no answers to them.
He is simply attempting to make the reader wonder the same things as him and think about what he is
pondering in his shoes. Equivalently, Wiesel also states, Here or elsewhere what difference did it
make? To die today or tomorrow, or later? (93). In this situation, the author is making the reader
hesitate and search for the

The Dog Is Dark And Satirical Humor
After watching You the Living, my favorite scene was when there were dogs because it added a
different energy to the scenes. In the scene with the raging woman and her husband, the dog felt fake
and dead at first, but then it came alive. I think the dogs were the main attention grabber in both
scenes. The dragging dog was very surreal, cruel and yet funny. When I saw the comment from Slant
Magazine blog that Andersson s vision is dark and satirical humor and not yet entirely hopeless, I
thought of this dog scene because the dog was hopeless, but everyone was laughing. Throughout the
whole scene, I was just trying to see if he actually dragged a real dog. However, I think another
element that added to the comical side of this cruelty is the mechanical movement and the rhythm of
the whine. Everything was so exact and robotic, yet realistic looking.
The scene with the guy playing the guitar and a moving exterior background became more fascinating
after I watched the behind the scenes. The moving background was already awkwardly amazing when
I watched the film, but the behind the scenes made me appreciate it more because they put in a lot of
practice and preciseness. The behind the scene surprised me in many ways, especially when the city
perspective was revealed as miniature 2D paintings hanging in different order. That was really
unexpected and I ve never seen this technique before. Additionally, when the behind the scenes
revealed that Anderson painted his actors pale

Angela s Ashes Margaret Atwood Analysis
Atwood writes about the narrator s thoughts and needs for affection. There s nobody here I can love...
I can conjure them but they are mirages only, they don t last. Can I be blamed for wanting a real
body... Without it I too am disembodied...I can stroke myself... but I too am dry and white, hard,
granular; it s like running my hand over a plateful of dried rice.... I am like a room where things once
happened and now nothing does, except the pollen of the weeds that grow up outside the window,
blowing in as dust across the floor.
The narrator is seen reminiscing over her former way of life using a simile, comparing herself to an
empty room. The empty room illustrates her feelings, emotionless, and hungry for love and affection.
The narrator s feeling of desolation is shown as her mind lingers over worthwhile relationships in her
past which are now replaced by an empty void. In addition, the use of diction with the words hard and
granular, conveys the extent of her loss of emotions from her life in the dystopian society. Atwood
warns the effects of an unhealthy society on the human mind, how ... Show more content on

The Articles Of The Draft Of Capitulation
The Articles of Capitulation signed 1760 marked the concluding chapter of France s hegemony in
North America. By 1764 the French possession of Ile Royale and Ile St.Jean along with their prize
colony of Quebec were handed over to Great Britain. Therefore, why are these articles important in
contemporary society and does it indicate British hegemony in Canada? The Articles of Capitulation
of Montreal in 1760 was a diplomatic tool used by the British military command to supplant the
military forces in New France, by confirming to the needs and rights of regular Francophones within
Quebec while placing strict editions that legitimized their hegemony in North America. Therefore, it is

With the increased population, the colony stabilized its economic situation, thereby investing in the
welfare of the colony.
However as the Articles of Capitulation indicated the period of stability for New France had political
and economic problems. With a higher and stable population, French goods and access to tradable
goods; furs, pelts and natural resources produced an economic rivalry between the English. As the
economic rivalry increased, it began to cause friction in their political relations. Gradually, Franco
Anglo relations began to encompass territorial supremacy of the North American region. Interestingly,
the geopolitical situation during the early 18th century displayed English territory along the Atlantic
seaboard and in Rupert s Land, while France s territory concentrated in the centre of North America.
Hostilities between France and Great Britain broke down in 1702 due to the Spanish succession. In
North America, this conflict had been referred to as Queen Anne s War and resulted in the accelerated
downfall of the New France. When the war ended in 1713 with the signing of the Treaty of Utrecht
France was forced to ceded parts of its colony; Acadia, Newfoundland, Hudson Bay and the country
of the Iroquois. The Treaty of Utrecht is important because it signified the growing emergence of
English hegemony over North America, but more importantly it exhibited English ambition to seize all
French possession, indicating a policy of Britain s interest to

Chinese Triads Research Paper
Threat: Chinese Triads pose threats to U.S. national security in relation to drug and human trafficking.
In the United States, these groups are active in most metropolitan areas that have a large Chinese
population, and typically keep their activities limited to those areas. Within these areas they are often
responsible for heroin and methamphetamine trafficking, human trafficking and
intimidation/protection practices. While documented triad activity in the United States reached a peak
in the 1990s, it is not clear if activity has truly been curbed or if the nature of privacy within the
Chinese subculture is preventing the threat from being properly documented. Although Triads are
active within the United States, their involvement in allied states poses an additional threat to U.S.
security and its interests.
Background: The history of Chinese Triads within the United States is closely linked with the history
of Chinese and Hong Kong based triads. The original Chinese Triad formed during the 17th century,
and wanted to overthrow the Qing dynasty and bring back the Ming dynasty. However, by the early

In terms of the US and UK Supreme Courts they share a hand full of similarities, both handle the
highest appeals court within the jurisdictions on pivotal domestic law. The US Supreme Court has the
final say on federal constitutional law and has jurisdiction over the federal courts and over state courts.
Nevertheless, the Supreme Court doesn t have jurisdiction of matters of state law. Likewise, the UK
Supreme Court has the control over the court of appeal for every civil cases within the United
Kingdom and the criminal cases in England, Wales and Northern Ireland but when it comes to
Scotland and criminal cases the Supreme Court has limited jurisdiction. As well as the United

Lolita Unreliable Narrator
The novel Lolita, written by Vladimir Nabakov, contains perhaps the utmost example of the unreliable
narrator. Many readers have questions Nabakov s character after reading this story. As Humbert claims
in the story that he toyed with the doctors and nurses when he was institutionalized, he toys with us,
the readers, and makes very convincing arguments for our sympathies. His nature is very controlling,
mocking and delusional as it appears through his lyrical narration. While he does this, many readers
who dive into the life of Humbert Humbert see him as an honest narrator who never denies his
inexcusable actions. Throughout the novel, two main aspects of Humbert s unreliability are very
prevalent throughout the read: Humbert s insanity and his use of language. Analyzing what an
unreliable narrator does to a novel is an important theme to consider as well. With that being said,
highlighting the evidence throughout Lolita is very crucial for readers to analyze and understand. ...

author s use of irony is through the character of Manley Pointer, a traveling bible salesman. His

Venice, Veronica was able to attend exclusive events which afforded her the opportunity to express her
poetry through public speech and by battling poetic contemporaries. This is important because she
could further her own influence while showcasing her ability to compete with men in literary and
political circles. These skills afforded Veronica the opportunity to entertain the infamously
homosexual, King Henri III of France in his private quarters. This is important because the influence

needed it. Her elevated status allowed her to publish two different collections of poems, a rare feat in a

An Effective Human Resource Management Department
Because it serves as the direct link to all the various operations that make up our company, Human
Resources management is vital to our current and future success. For us to prosper and satisfy our
customers, Forever 21 must have an effective Human Resource Management department, one that can
provide proper knowledge, necessary tools, and effective advice to guide employees and
administrators towards successful operation (Heathfield What is Human... ). Since our debut, we ve
been continuously profitable. However, our downside is that we have been primarily focusing on
targeting the customer, when we need to apply a different approach: we need to empower our
employees and their passion for the job. Investing in our employees motivation will not only allow us
to grow in sales, but also as an overall company. Our most important goal would be to build our
workers intrinsic motivation. In doing so, we would increase their desire to perform an action or
behave in a certain way because they enjoy the job or activity itself (Williams Intrinsic Motivation... ).
According to GlassDoor, a website in which former or current employees of an organization review
the job, Forever 21 holds a lot of negative reviews of the working conditions and especially the upper
management which, in some cases, was the cause of people s departure from the company. It is crucial
that we fix this problem with management because poor Human Resource management can result in
several negative effects. The

Photo Booth Advantages And Disadvantages
In its very definition, a portable photo booth will definitely be of greater benefit than a fixed one,
albeit with just a few exceptions. There will be some situations where it will be necessary to have a
photo booth be it fixed or portable. Events are being held every day and now more than ever, attendees
will want to keep these memories alive. Having a photo booth with which you can move around and
offer this as a service to a wider market is a sure way to make it an expansive business and increase
your income in the long run. As a matter of fact, event organizers are quickly taking this up and
incorporating it in their portfolio. It dispels the worry of the venue in which an event is being hosted
not having a photo booth and the need to hire a professional photographer to take care of event
photography. As it stands, the world economy is pretty much what you would consider paralyzed and
as a person in the business, you need to know that you can provide a service that pays the bills without
having to work. You need to ascertain that the resources you invest are being put into use and creating
even more revenue. A portable photo booth is an excellent way you can get this into practice. It has a
good number of benefits to get you counting your money at the end of every occasion in your locality.
Among the advantages you stand to achieve include the ease of set up and better time management.
The benefits of buying a portable photo booth are as follows:
1. Minimal Technical Experience Required
Setting up a booth is pretty simple anyone can pick up the basics, it doesn t take a professional
photographer. The software is very easy to use; it takes just a few hours to get it all hooked up. With
just an experiment on the settings, you can master the art in no time. A bit of familiarity with such
settings as aperture, shutter speed and ISO would be all the help you need. There s barely any
technical experience necessary to get it in action. The materials used in the construction of portable
photo booths are rather flexible and light. This means that the installation process will be much easier
and it will take a short time to uninstall it and carry it away from the venue of the event. This is a clear

Raising Cane s A Restaurant
Raising Cane s Restaurant
The food industry in Louisiana has been growing over the years and the Raising Cane s Restaurant has
been on the forefront in offering some of the best delicacies I have tasted in my life. Throughout my
life, I have had the pleasure of experiencing different restaurants and I can admit the experience has
not been disappointing at Raising Cane s Restaurant. For anyone looking to experience a different
taste of chicken, look no further than Raising Cane. Raising Cane mostly serves chicken fingers. In
fact, the restaurant s name is Raising Cane s Chicken Fingers. As its name suggests, it offers a variety
of meals, but chicken meals are their main foods. Todd Graves, who is the C.E.O of the restaurant and
Craig Silvey who was Todd s partner and currently the vice president of information technology and
finance established the restaurant in August 1996. The restaurant has its headquarters in Baton Rouge,
Louisiana, which was the location of the first restaurant. Today, Raising Cane is found in over 250
locations in the U.S and other countries including Kuwait as of September in 2015.
I set out to visit the restaurant for lunch last Friday and the first thing I noticed was its theme color,
which is red. The restaurant s logo is made of a mixture of white, yellow and black colors on a red and
a small yellow background. Its location is equally catchy because it is located at the intersection of
University Drive and Rural Road, which is next to Arizona

Artemisia In The Last Painting Lucretia
realism shown in the groin wrinkle, the crow s feet wrinkles at the right armpit, the lines in her neck,
the pendant breasts, and the recognizably feminine abdomen (Image 200). Even so, Artemisia depicts
the female form as more muscular and toned than the female bodies seen in most contemporaneous
works by male artists. Though Susanna is seated, she is resisting the advances of the elders, and a cry
is coming from her open mouth illustrating her alarm. Her shame of being naked in front of the elders
is palpable in her downcast eyes and the flush on her cheeks. Artemisia created suspense and a sense
of anxiety in the painting by expressing a threat of rape in the elder s whispers that is more disturbing
than the actual act of violence. Artemisia ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Lucretia is about to kill herself to spare her family the dishonor of her rape. Artemisia portrays
Lucretia as a common woman rather than an idealized figure from classical antiquity. Lucretia s
physical flaws and emotional vulnerability are apparent. The influence of Caravaggio is now obvious
in Artemisia s work through the close focused composition of the singular figure, Lucretia, emerging
from a dark background, harshly illuminated in typical tenebrist manner that creates a dramatic impact
as Artemisia halts Lucretia s hand in action grasping the dagger, blade upward and not aimed directly
at her breast, while her other hand clutches her breast in a moment of conflict as she struggles for the
courage to complete the act (Garrard, Image 115). Also, as typical of Caravaggio, Artemisia portrays a
single moment of narrative with a heightened sense of suspense and drama (Mann, 100). Artemisia
depicts Lucretia seated in a contrapposto or counter pose and Lucretia s leg forms the base of a
conventional Renaissance pyramid with her head at its apex. In art, contrapposto describes a figure
that stands (or in this case sits) with one leg holding the full weight of the body, while the other leg is
relaxed. This classical pose rests the hips and shoulders at opposite angles and gives a slight curve to

The Bureaucracy Of The Business World Of Greece
The bureaucracy found in the business world of Greece makes it even more difficult for innovation to
exist, according to the article: bureaucracy, laws, and rules exert particular influence in Greece
because they help make life more structured and less uncertain. In Greece, acquiring construction
permits, registering property, and enforcing contracts in courts require vast amounts of paperwork and
time. Thus, the rules which are in place to prevent uncertainty in Greek businesses also inhibits
innovation which is already unlikely to occur because of the avoidance of uncertainty already
prevalent in Greek culture..
When it is very difficult to acquire various permits or register a property it obviously becomes less
likely that someone ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It could be argued, however, that American business writers are judging Greece s economy based on
their own ideas of how business is done. They may say that it is merely a coincidence that Greece is
struggling and happens to avoid uncertainty. It would be impossible to say that their struggles are
because of their tendencies to avoid uncertainty, but the weight of the previous information given in
this paper outlines the role uncertainty does play in the American corporate world.
This is not the only argument to be made, however. The article from the Harvard Business Review
also charted out different country s innovation based on the European Commission Index alongside
their rating of uncertainty avoidance as determined by Hofstede s scale as well as the level of
Bureaucracy as according to the World Bank ranking. The chart demonstrates that, as a general rule,
countries which have a higher uncertainty avoidance also have less innovation and more bureaucracy.

John Quincy Adams Essay
John Quincy Adams
John Quincy Adams was the only son of a president to become president. He had an impressive
political background that began at the age of fourteen. He was an intelligent and industrious
individual. He was a man of strong character and high principles. By all account, his presidency
should have been a huge success, yet it wasn t. John Quincy Adams presidency was frustrating and
judged a failure because of the scandal, attached to his election, the pettiness of his political rivals, and
his strong character. John Quincy Adams was born on July 1767, in Braintree Massachusetts. His
parents were John and Abigail Adams. Quincy, had every advantage as a youngster. At the time of his

He kept this post throughout his fathers term of office. After his fathers defeat to Thomas Jefferson he
returned home. In 1802 he was elected to the Massachusetts senate, which sent him to the U. S senate
the following year. He was also appointed to the Supreme Court, a membership he declined. President
James Madison then appointed him to minister to Russia in 1809. He continued to serve his country
and gained a well respected reputation. Adding to his reputation was his brilliant and tough minded
performance as chief American peace commissioner in the negotiations at Gent that ended the War of
1812 and his effectiveness as minister to Great Britain during the last two years of the Madison
administration. He continued to distinguish himself by negotiating a treaty with Spain. The Adams
Onis Treaty with Spain, concluded with Spain on February 22, 1819. Provided for the transfer of East
and West Florida to the United States and the establishment of a border between Spanish and US
territory running from the Gulf of Mexico to the Rocky Mountains and along the forty second parallel
to the Pacific ocean. Historians regard the treaty as a brilliant act of diplomacy, and Adams himself
called its conclusion the most important event of my life. Many historians give credit to Adams for his
contributions to the Monroe Doctrine. Adams also was the mind behind the Monroe Doctrine, which

The Nature Of The Prince In Machiavelli s The Prince
A Lion is a King and a Fox is the Thief
Since, then, a prince must know how to use well the nature of the beast, he should choose from among
the beasts the fox and the lion; for the lion cannot defend itself from traps, while the fox cannot
protect itself from the wolves. It is therefore necessary to be a fox, in order to recognize the traps, and
a lion, in order to frighten the wolves (Machiavelli 60). When must the Prince be the lion and when
must he be the fox? In The Prince written by Machiavelli, Machiavelli writes to the Prince to tell him
the best way to rule over a principality, and the consequences of the decisions he makes in his ruling.
Machiavelli applies figurative language, such as metaphors to explain the way a situation will often
play out. He represents different roles of leadership as animals. The different animals, lion, wolf, fox,
have varying characteristics. Machiavelli uses the metaphors of a lion and a fox in order to illustrate
the need for a prince to be both strong and brave and sly and cunning. The effect of these metaphors is
to demonstrate that a prince must demonstrate more than just one characteristic in order to lead with
power and authority.
The Prince needs to know how to use well the nature of the beast (60). He must think like an animal in
matters that concern his ruling. If the Prince thinks as an animal his priorities would then be to ensure
the security of the kingdom and his throne. His military strength will prevent

In The Spotlight From Stuff That Scare Your Pants Off ! By...
The informational text, a magazine article titled In the Spotlight from Stuff That Scares Your Pants
Off! by Glenn Murphy is fascinating. The science facts of why people are afraid of speaking in public
(glossophobia) and how it may be overcome is clearly defined to the point that one can easily relate to
other phobias that may sometime affect people s live, whether it is life threatening or not. Many of the
short stories, magazine articles, and the poem read in class, and ones assigned for home work are
equally interesting because it makes you think about your personal experiences. Knowing phobia may
affect one s life style, it is comforting to learn there are cures to remedy, or keep at bay, fears and

not to fear what most children her age fear. In essence, what we think is what we

Ideas of Parenting
Parenting is different for everyone, but is any one way really better than the other? Amy Chua, a
professor at Yale University, believes that the strict parenting style of Chinese mothers is the way to
go. She believes that her strict and often harsh parenting style contributed to the success of her
daughters. Chinese parents believe that if their children are successful, it is a reflection of the parents.
Hanna Rosin, a contributing editor for the Atlantic, has very different views from Ms. Chua about the
correct parenting style. Ms. Rosin believes that the more relaxed, nurturing, and self led style of
Western parenting is the better way to raise children. She believes that placing your children under
immense pressure can produce ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Western parent allows the child to show interest in a subject or activity, then allows them to
explore this interest, whereas the Chinese style parent chooses school subjects and activities. Allowing
the children to first show interest in an activity helps to set the child up for success. If the child likes
an activity, they are more likely to practice or develop skills because they enjoy it, and are not being
forced into it. This may help their self esteem as well, because they will be doing something they like,
instead of being forced to do something that they may not have a natural aptitude for and run the risk
of failing. In addition to the close development choices of the Western parent, they try to enhance the
social development as well. They do this by sending the children to sleep away camps, or a friend s
house for a sleepover. The Chinese parent doesn t allow the children to attend sleepovers, school
dances, sports events, etc. I think some children of the Western parents love the way they were raised
and allowed to explore and make their own decisions growing up. I also believe there may be some
children of Western parents that wish their parents had been stricter, or pushed them more when they
were younger. There are pros and cons to both parenting styles. Some pros from both sides are that the
children are nurtured, receive all of the education

The National Security Language Initiative For Youth
Last semester I was in India with a study abroad program sponsored by the State Department. The
National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI Y) was created in part to learn languages not
often spoken in the United States but also to create cross cultural education and understanding. World
peace can be achieved by broadening each other s perspectives through everyday interactions. This
idea forms an essential part of NSLI Y s mission: that we can improve understanding between our
country and others, and this is achievable if each one of us decides to be the change that we hope to
see in our communities. This mission aligns with both my personal and future professional missions,
and as a NSLI Y student and alumna, I am able to be ambassador, building connections between
communities through everyday interactions, volunteering, and speaking about my study abroad
experience. Therefore, as a study abroad participant, perhaps the most simple, but one of the most
important ways, to promote intercultural learning is to get involved. As a member of my host
community, I was able to open my ears and mind to every opportunity available to me to participate in
my community: through everyday traditions and once a year celebrations, school activities, volunteer
opportunities, and religious and extracurricular activities. I said yes to all of the new opportunities that
presented themselves to me, whether it was trying a new, unidentifiable food or running a 5K. I let my

  • 2. Why Is Django Unchained The film Django Unchained directed by Quentin Tarantino is a distinguished cinema following a character with a checkered past trying to find his true love. The film follows Django on his quest to return to his wife Broomheilda. Aided by his mentor Dr. King Shultz, Django starts on a journey to find his one true love. I chose this movie because it is a western epic about returning to your true love after being forcefully separated. Also because Quentin Tarantino makes excellent movies and I saw a lot of familiar faces. Finally the movie has some comedic parts while maintaining its serious overtone. That is why I choose the movie Django Unchained. Django Unchained is a spaghetti western following Django a slave in the pre civil war south. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is shown by Tarantino using the actor Christoph Waltz in the 2009 film Inglorious Bastards as the main antagonist, a Nazi SS officer. Waltz plays the role of Dr. King Shultz; a dentist turned bounty hunter in Django Unchained. Tarantino also does this with the actor Samuel L. Jackson who played the role of Jules Winnfield in the 1994 classic Pulp Fiction. In Pulp Fiction Jules Winnfield is part of a pair hitmen that work for crime boss Marsellus Wallace. In Django Unchained Samuel L. Jackson plays the role of Stephen, a loyal to a fault servant who has gained the trust of Calvin Candie. Calvin Candie being the owner of the candy land plantation. These actors have a lot of experience with his directing style so they can really show their acting prowess. Django Unchained is a rather serious movie with a lot of violence and gore, while still having humorous under tones. The film Django unchained follows Django on his path to be reunited with his wife. Throughout that journey he and Shultz experience many things, most serious while other just funny. After Django helps Shultz track down and kill the brittle brother, the pair is force to leave the plantation. • 3. Paedobaptism 2. Reformed Theology of Paedobaptism Historically, Reformed paedobaptism supporters subscribe to the doctrine paedobaptism through the circumcision/baptism analogy and the belief that paedobaptism occurred during the apostolic age. While circumcision and baptism differ greatly in methodology, both play a significant role throughout redemptive history. For example, God ordained the practice of physical circumcision in a covenant with Abraham to signify his choosing of Abraham and his offspring. Circumcision separated Abraham and his male offspring from the surrounding cultures and religions; it made them unique (Gen. 17:1 14). Abraham responded to the covenant with passion and purity. Consequently, obedience to God through the practice of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Advantages And Disadvantages Of Open And Distance Education Abstract: Alternate platform of learning Open and Distance Learning (ODL) system of education gained profound popularity around the world by 1960. It was promoted in early eighties when a bill was passed by the Union Government and a central university was founded in the name of Indira Gandhi, former Prime Minister, in 1985. To harmonize various distance learning institutes and maintain high standards of education at national level, the Distance Education Council (DEC) was also formed under the same Act. But in a developing country like India, it seems like a cloud on horizon while implementing the related government policies especially in its rural and suburban parts. Although conventional learning is still popular amongst the students, but ODL is the next generation education system with innumerous advantages like flexibility, cost effectiveness, networking, education beyond the borders and many more. This paper deals with the benefits, success, drawbacks and some suggestions to overcome the present problems faced by ODL system in rural and suburban parts of India. Keywords: ODL, DEC, ... While providing insight, this method might be misinterpreted by employees as mistrust. Oral reports allow for fast and extensive feedback. • 6. Advantage Of Competitive Federalism The principle of federalism was introduced to ensure the government did not possess too much power over a nation. The implementation of federalism allowed for a compromise to be made between the states and national government. This compromise ensured that power was divided among the states and the national government. Federalism remained very limited, much like boundaries to ensure overstepping did not occur. The overall explanation for the principle of federalism and its origin dates back to the need of a strong centralized government. Of course, federalism corrected the decentralized powers and created a fair system to abide by that focused on the importance of division of power and centralized government. There are various forms of federalism, one of which being competitive federalism. According to Dr. Michael Greve, competitive federalism seeks to discipline governments. It seeks to discipline governments by allowing each government to compete for their citizen s business. The concept of competitive federalism enables choice and change. Competitive federalism is not confined to one government at all. Conversely, it allows for citizens to pick and choose which government they wish to live under. There are benefits associated with competitive federalism which can include various forms of innovation, product differentiation, choice of the consumers, and other services. • 8. Forms Of Writing Style In Night By Elie Wiesel Throughout all 109 pages of Elie Wiesel s memoir, Night, various forms of writing style make an appearance. In describing his life during the Holocaust, Wiesel portrays his experiences in a very straightforward manner. Wiesel inspires emotion within the reader through his minimalistic choice of words and writing techniques, as well as painting a picture for the reader to help them imagine what he had gone through. The style of writing used by Elie Wiesel in his memoir causes the readers to pause and become more involved with his messages and words. In his memoir, Wiesel displays the use of rhetorical questions to make the reader pause and think about the words he uses in greater depth. The purpose of including these rhetorical questions is to have the reader stop and place themselves in the situation. Also, to have them search for answers when, in the end, there is none to be found. Wiesel enhances the writing of the memoir with rhetorical questions on several occasions, such as when he writes, Why did I pray? A strange question. Why did I live? Why did I breathe? (2). Here, he is proposing questions; however, he seeks no answers to them. He is simply attempting to make the reader wonder the same things as him and think about what he is pondering in his shoes. Equivalently, Wiesel also states, Here or elsewhere what difference did it make? To die today or tomorrow, or later? (93). In this situation, the author is making the reader hesitate and search for the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. The Dog Is Dark And Satirical Humor After watching You the Living, my favorite scene was when there were dogs because it added a different energy to the scenes. In the scene with the raging woman and her husband, the dog felt fake and dead at first, but then it came alive. I think the dogs were the main attention grabber in both scenes. The dragging dog was very surreal, cruel and yet funny. When I saw the comment from Slant Magazine blog that Andersson s vision is dark and satirical humor and not yet entirely hopeless, I thought of this dog scene because the dog was hopeless, but everyone was laughing. Throughout the whole scene, I was just trying to see if he actually dragged a real dog. However, I think another element that added to the comical side of this cruelty is the mechanical movement and the rhythm of the whine. Everything was so exact and robotic, yet realistic looking. The scene with the guy playing the guitar and a moving exterior background became more fascinating after I watched the behind the scenes. The moving background was already awkwardly amazing when I watched the film, but the behind the scenes made me appreciate it more because they put in a lot of practice and preciseness. The behind the scene surprised me in many ways, especially when the city perspective was revealed as miniature 2D paintings hanging in different order. That was really unexpected and I ve never seen this technique before. Additionally, when the behind the scenes revealed that Anderson painted his actors pale ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Angela s Ashes Margaret Atwood Analysis Atwood writes about the narrator s thoughts and needs for affection. There s nobody here I can love... I can conjure them but they are mirages only, they don t last. Can I be blamed for wanting a real body... Without it I too am disembodied...I can stroke myself... but I too am dry and white, hard, granular; it s like running my hand over a plateful of dried rice.... I am like a room where things once happened and now nothing does, except the pollen of the weeds that grow up outside the window, blowing in as dust across the floor. The narrator is seen reminiscing over her former way of life using a simile, comparing herself to an empty room. The empty room illustrates her feelings, emotionless, and hungry for love and affection. The narrator s feeling of desolation is shown as her mind lingers over worthwhile relationships in her past which are now replaced by an empty void. In addition, the use of diction with the words hard and granular, conveys the extent of her loss of emotions from her life in the dystopian society. • 11. The Articles Of The Draft Of Capitulation The Articles of Capitulation signed 1760 marked the concluding chapter of France s hegemony in North America. By 1764 the French possession of Ile Royale and Ile St.Jean along with their prize colony of Quebec were handed over to Great Britain. Therefore, why are these articles important in contemporary society and does it indicate British hegemony in Canada? The Articles of Capitulation of Montreal in 1760 was a diplomatic tool used by the British military command to supplant the military forces in New France, by confirming to the needs and rights of regular Francophones within Quebec while placing strict editions that legitimized their hegemony in North America. With the increased population, the colony stabilized its economic situation, thereby investing in the welfare of the colony. However as the Articles of Capitulation indicated the period of stability for New France had political and economic problems. With a higher and stable population, French goods and access to tradable goods; furs, pelts and natural resources produced an economic rivalry between the English. As the economic rivalry increased, it began to cause friction in their political relations. Gradually, Franco Anglo relations began to encompass territorial supremacy of the North American region. Interestingly, the geopolitical situation during the early 18th century displayed English territory along the Atlantic seaboard and in Rupert s Land, while France s territory concentrated in the centre of North America. Hostilities between France and Great Britain broke down in 1702 due to the Spanish succession. In North America, this conflict had been referred to as Queen Anne s War and resulted in the accelerated downfall of the New France. When the war ended in 1713 with the signing of the Treaty of Utrecht France was forced to ceded parts of its colony; Acadia, Newfoundland, Hudson Bay and the country of the Iroquois. The Treaty of Utrecht is important because it signified the growing emergence of English hegemony over North America, but more importantly it exhibited English ambition to seize all French possession, indicating a policy of Britain s interest to ... • 13. Chinese Triads Research Paper Threat: Chinese Triads pose threats to U.S. national security in relation to drug and human trafficking. In the United States, these groups are active in most metropolitan areas that have a large Chinese population, and typically keep their activities limited to those areas. Within these areas they are often responsible for heroin and methamphetamine trafficking, human trafficking and intimidation/protection practices. While documented triad activity in the United States reached a peak in the 1990s, it is not clear if activity has truly been curbed or if the nature of privacy within the Chinese subculture is preventing the threat from being properly documented. Although Triads are active within the United States, their involvement in allied states poses an additional threat to U.S. security and its interests. Background: The history of Chinese Triads within the United States is closely linked with the history of Chinese and Hong Kong based triads. Elizabeth lived her life to the fullest, she was always sweet, caring and loving. As her best friend, I seen many times where she was strong in so many ways. She was a strong, courageous woman with a beautiful heart and soul. Elizabeth was a loving person, always showing tenderness and care to those she knew. It s impossible to count the ways that she showed her love to her family and friends, and it s impossible to write all the stories of the caring, loving, and strength she displayed. It s mesmerizing how Elizabeth handled every situation at the best of her ability every single day. She was caring and loving in so many ways, she sacrificed so so much for her family. When Elizabeth was only in fifth grade, she started taking care of her brother and sister. She made sure they got their baths, dressed, feed, homework, and went to bed on time. A Comparison Of Jurisdictions In The US And The UK A comparison of Jurisdictions in the UK and USA In this report I will be comparing the differences and similarities between legal jurisdictions between the United Kingdom and the United States of America. I intend to outline some of the key differences between the two systems. In terms of the US and UK Supreme Courts they share a hand full of similarities, both handle the highest appeals court within the jurisdictions on pivotal domestic law. The US Supreme Court has the final say on federal constitutional law and has jurisdiction over the federal courts and over state courts. With each service opportunity, I learn something new about myself and the world around me. Many readers have questions Nabakov s character after reading this story. As Humbert claims in the story that he toyed with the doctors and nurses when he was institutionalized, he toys with us, the readers, and makes very convincing arguments for our sympathies. His nature is very controlling, mocking and delusional as it appears through his lyrical narration. While he does this, many readers who dive into the life of Humbert Humbert see him as an honest narrator who never denies his inexcusable actions. Throughout the novel, two main aspects of Humbert s unreliability are very prevalent throughout the read: Humbert s insanity and his use of language. Artemisia portrays Lucretia as a common woman rather than an idealized figure from classical antiquity. Lucretia s physical flaws and emotional vulnerability are apparent. The influence of Caravaggio is now obvious in Artemisia s work through the close focused composition of the singular figure, Lucretia, emerging from a dark background, harshly illuminated in typical tenebrist manner that creates a dramatic impact as Artemisia halts Lucretia s hand in action grasping the dagger, blade upward and not aimed directly at her breast, while her other hand clutches her breast in a moment of conflict as she struggles for the courage to complete the act (Garrard, Image 115). Also, as typical of Caravaggio, Artemisia portrays a single moment of narrative with a heightened sense of suspense and drama (Mann, 100). Artemisia depicts Lucretia seated in a contrapposto or counter pose and Lucretia s leg forms the base of a conventional Renaissance pyramid with her head at its apex. The Nature Of The Prince In Machiavelli s The Prince A Lion is a King and a Fox is the Thief Since, then, a prince must know how to use well the nature of the beast, he should choose from among the beasts the fox and the lion; for the lion cannot defend itself from traps, while the fox cannot protect itself from the wolves. It is therefore necessary to be a fox, in order to recognize the traps, and a lion, in order to frighten the wolves (Machiavelli 60). When must the Prince be the lion and when must he be the fox? In The Prince written by Machiavelli, Machiavelli writes to the Prince to tell him the best way to rule over a principality, and the consequences of the decisions he makes in his ruling. Machiavelli applies figurative language, such as metaphors to explain the way a situation will often play out. He represents different roles of leadership as animals. The different animals, lion, wolf, fox, have varying characteristics.
