Alcohol consumption is an important social concern for many people. This study
opted to analyze how gender affects the level of alcohol consumption among college
students. After conducting a survey with 30 participants, the results proved that H1
hypothesis Gender significantly affects the level of alcohol consumption was
validated with a p value of 0.026. Additionally, H2 hypothesis Men significantly
consume more alcohol than women do was also validated with a mean of 2.4 in terms
of consumption. H3 hypothesis Women significantly consume more alcohol than
men do was nullified because of the average mean being only 1.27. The p value of
significance provided insight on the level of alcohol consumption, further solidifying
the claim. It can be therefore concluded that gender played an important role as a

The Five Year Plans were set up by Stalin and his right hand men; they set up these
goals in a few categories of the Soviet Union. It was called the Five Year Plan
because they hoped to achieve everything they set up in five years; once the goals
were achieved they would discuss and set up the next Five Year Plan. In the first
Five Year Plan, it focused on agriculture. Before the plan, the farmers and the
workers essentially worked on their own farms that were run by their families,
allowing them to have the freedom to do as they pleased, but with Socialism on
the brink everything changed. Socialism includes the government in charge of
everything, meaning that collective farming was the new thing. With that farmers
and the peasants were taken away from the farm and then everyone was combined
into what they called a collective farm. This meant that everyone on that farm had
to work together to get the outcome that they wanted. People didn t have the choice

idea or spoke out against the actions they would be shipped to Siberia where they
would work for hard labor or they could be shipped to concentration camps. The
idea of dekulakization happened to the kulaks, meaning that if there were villages

COLLEGES OF EDUCATION IN KADUNA STATE, NIGERIA.

Abstract
This article reports on the impact of teaching and learning of social studies education
on religious tolerance and peaceful coexistence among students in colleges of
education in Kaduna state. Participants were drawn from the Federal College of
Education Zaria and College of Education, Gidan Waya in Kaduna state, Nigeria. The
study was aimed at evaluating the knowledge of social studies students and their
perceptions on religious tolerance. Participants responded to a test before and after
instructional sessions, in which they indicated the level of their awareness on social
studies concepts, perceptions on religious conflicts and the importance of social
studies in solving this religious conflict. The data gathered from both pretest and
posttest were analyzed using analysis of variance at 95% (P 0.05) significance level.
The data revealed that the knowledge of social studies education had significant
positive impact on the attitude and perception of students on religious tolerance and
peaceful coexistence. The findings highlight the critical importance of using social
studies education to solve the present and future occurrences of religious conflicts in
