Food Crisis Essay
Crafting an essay on the topic of "Food Crisis" can be a challenging endeavor, as it involves
delving into complex issues that span economics, agriculture, geopolitics, and environmental
science. The multifaceted nature of the subject demands a comprehensive understanding of
global food systems, their vulnerabilities, and the intricate web of factors contributing to a
potential crisis.
To begin with, thorough research is imperative, requiring extensive exploration of scholarly
articles, reports, and data sets. Analyzing the historical context and current trends is essential to
grasp the nuances of food production, distribution, and consumption on a global scale. This
essay would necessitate a keen awareness of the interconnected challenges such as climate
change, population growth, resource depletion, and socio-economic disparities, all of which play
pivotal roles in exacerbating or mitigating a food crisis.
Developing a coherent structure for the essay poses its own set of difficulties. The complexity of
the topic requires careful organization to ensure a logical flow of ideas, allowing the reader to
comprehend the intricate relationships between various elements. Balancing statistical evidence
with compelling narratives and expert opinions becomes crucial to present a well-rounded
argument.
Moreover, addressing potential solutions to a food crisis involves navigating through diverse
perspectives, policy considerations, and ethical implications. Crafting a nuanced and informed
stance on how societies, governments, and international organizations can collectively tackle
such a complex issue requires finesse in argumentation and synthesis of diverse viewpoints.
In conclusion, writing an essay on the "Food Crisis" demands a significant investment of time,
research, and critical thinking. It necessitates a holistic approach, combining scientific insights,
socio-economic analyses, and ethical considerations to present a comprehensive and compelling
argument. While challenging, such essays offer an opportunity for writers to contribute
meaningfully to discussions surrounding one of the most pressing global issues of our time.

Interracial Marriage In Guess Who s Coming To Dinner
Stanley Kramer s film, Guess Who s Coming to Dinner, explores the controversial
issue of interracial marriage and reflects society s prejudicial views during the
1960 s. In the 60 s, the concept of an interracial marriage was foreign. At the time,
it was considered illegal sixteen states for two people of different races to
wed.(Kramer 1967). Joanna Drayton, the white daughter of a wealthy newspaper
editor, and Dr. John Prentice, the son of a black mail man fall deeply in love after
ten short days together in Hawaii(Kramer 1967).The Drayton s are wealthy and
reside in the suburbs of San Francisco, where roughly only twelve percent of the
town people are colored (Kramer 1967).Whereas, Dr. Prentice is from a low class
family who live in Los Angeles.Statistically, the white racecomposes the majority of
the middle and upper class.Typically those in the upper class have access to a more
advantageous education, and as a result, are qualified for the higher paying job
positions. The lower class which consists mostly of the black race, do not have the
access to attend elite universities and be considered for top paying jobs.(Murray
2012). The concept of homogamy(Murray 2012), which refers to the interbreeding of
individuals who share like characteristics is displayed in the film. Joanna s parents,

Prentice. Tilly believes that Dr. Prentice is marrying Joanna for the sole purpose of
gaining a higher social status, and warns Dr. Prentice that he should not get ahead of
himself(Kramer 1967). Her reaction to the marriage suggests that Tilly believes that
the Drayton s are above herself as well as Dr. Prentice. )The concept of hypo
descent is seen between the interaction of Tilly and Dr. Prentice. Hypo descent
refers to the idea that the white race is superior to the black and mixed races. Tilly
does not hesitate to remind Dr. Prentice several times of the of the color of his
Social Recovery
Sri Lanka is deeply committed to solving the post economic and social recovery
conflict due to its 26 year civil year war, as it devastated nearly 66% of the
population of its Northern and Eastern provinces. After the civil war against the
Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) ended in May 2009, most aspects of life
suffered ___ hundreds of thousands of people were displaced, institutions
disintegrated, and imperative irrigation schemes were in great need of repair. The
government of Sri Lanka (GOSL) is now experiencing colossal and extremely
complex challenges of reassembling marred or destroyed physical infrastructure,
albeit the top priority of GOSL is to guide the conflict affected population back to
productive life and to establish a physically, economically and socially sustainable
environment for their recovery.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The government launched a number of reconstruction and rehabilitation activities
such as leading demining activities with the purpose of reducing High Security
Zones (HSZ) and other programs to implement new livelihood activities for
resettled civilians. The GOSL exposes, The government s priority has been the
resettlement of the approximately 300,000 IDP s, while ensuring that they are
provided adequate shelter, food, security and livelihood support. To enable the rural
poor to improve their livelihood and quality of life, the government was able to
establish interim camps for all internally displaced people (IDP) after the war,
including ex LTTE cadres. All interim camps were provided with basic needs of the
IDPs including food, shelter, medical facilities and other sanitation
Rites Of The Catholic Church
One of the most important sacraments of the Catholic Church is the Eucharist, also
known as Holy Communion. The Eucharist is not merely the consumption of bread
and wine, but a sacrifice and meal full of symbols, rituals, meaning and community
involvement. To gain an understanding of the Eucharist, it is important to first to look
at the symbols, how they were started, then to see how the Christian community enter
into the mystery of the sacrament and what they believe.
Symbols
There are many symbols of the Eucharist, bread, wine, water, chalice
There is a real presence of Christ in the form of bread and wine. In the Eucharist,
Christ is present in the totality of His being. The Second Vatican Council proclaimed
that the
Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life the source and summit of
the Christian life (Vatican II, Lumen Gentium, Dogmatic Constitution on the
Church, paragraph 11),The real presence of Christ in the Eucharist comes about
through transubstantiation meaning to change on an in perceivable level, we
believe that bread and wine changes at a fundamental level have become the body
and blood of Christ as a result of our prayers to God. St Augustine s sermon 272
stated that for what you see is simply bread and a cup this is the information your
eyes report, but your faith demands far subtler insight the bread if Christ s body and
the cup is Christ s blood
We can argue that the Eucharist is a mystery. But what is the source of the Church s
The Ethical Use Of Animal Experimentation In The United...
In the United States, over 100 million animals are used for experimentation and
testing every year. Most of these animals will either live a lifetime of misery and
neglect or face death. A copious amount of controversy surrounds animal
experimentation because of the way it is performed. Animal testing is done to test
products for harsh chemicals, for medical research, and educational purposes.
Products used by people everyday may have once been tested on animals. One way
companies test on animals is they put rabbits into head holding devices. They are
put into these devices to make it easier for chemicals and other products to be put in
their eyes to see how much harm is done (Parks 68). Different animals are used to test

high schools each year (Parks 37). Animals are dissected in order to teach students
about the anatomy of living creatures. Students gain an understanding of the animal
s internal structures, as well as how their tissues and organs are interrelated. (Parks
39). Animal s lungs are inflated to show how lungs work, pig s hearts are dissected
to study the circulatory system, and impregnated rats are dissected to learn about
their reproductive systems (Parks 40). Not only does dissection harm animals, it also
harms the environment and the students that partake in the activity. When animals
are taking out of their natural habitat it affects ecological balance and prevents bio
diversity (Animals Used 9). The chemicals that are used to preserve the animals or
specimens can be harmful to students and cause them to be ill (Animals Used 11).
Nine states have created a choice in dissection law that allows students to use an
alternative method of study without having to dissect, and they receive no deduction

Disciplinary Modality Of Power By Foucault
In the writings of Michel Foucault is the quote: ..one can speak of the formation of a
disciplinary society in this movement that stretches from the enclosed disciplines, a
sort of social quarantine , to an indefinitely generalizable mechanism of panopticism .
Not because the disciplinary modality of power has replaced all the others; but
because it has infiltrated the others, sometimes undermining them, linking them
together.. (Page 324) Foucault thought of our society as a disciplinary society ,
meaning that power has been widely developed and spread throughout organized
institutions that achieve obedience and discipline in which citizens comply with.
There are rules and regulations that we all must conform to in order the continue
Murder In The Paperback Parlor Essay
Murder In The Paperback Parlor is the second book in the A Book Retreat Mystery
series. Another wonderful story from Ellery Adams to add to her growing list of
great books. Valentine s Day is coming up and in celebration, Jane Steward is
planning a Romancing the Reader program at Storyton. Jane has invited of the top
Regency period writers to come and discuss their genre with their readers.
Roseamund York, a best selling romance author has irritated almost everyone from
the time that she stepped out of the car that brought her to Storyton Hall. So when

the women in the book, Jane needs to learn if this was enough to cause Maria to

to be going out of her way to obtain publicity for her employer. Jane needs to figure
out if the stress of the job has taken it toll on Taylor and something happened to cause

Burmese Days Analysis
Burmese Days was the book that took the history lecture and made it real life. To
me, there is a big difference between being told something happened and realizing
that it happened. History gives you a look back perspective. You have all the
information so you are able to make an educated decision and judge the people of
the time for what they did. Burmese Days allowed for a glimpse into the time period
without that the rose covered glasses. We were in the middle of a British Colony and
seeing everything that it could entail. In Burma, much like the other colonies, the
British have made themselves the superior race. In Burmese Days Orwell
showcases two native characters that have high ranks vocationally one Burmese, U
Po Kyin, and one Indian, Dr. Veraswami, but because of their race are seen as
inferior. Throughout the novel, these two have the goal of being elected a member of
the English club, where the British people spend most of their free time avoiding the
natives and pretending to be in England. The thing about either native being elected
though, neither one of them planned on being an active member of the club. In fact,
they knew it would be more of a symbolic membership.
This idea of a symbolic membership inside of a little British society inside of Burma
seemed to contradict the idea of the white man s burden that the British had been
forcing down the world s throat as the built their empire. It was their duty to help
these savages and children of

The Significance Of Women During Colonial America
The Significance of Women During Colonial America Life during colonial
America was bleak; in many colonies such as Jamestown or Plymouth, from fewer
than 150 people, a new community an ocean away from their old homes had to be
created. Factors like agriculture, shelter, and economy were no exception to the
long list of necessary things that needed to be developed. At first, the colonial
people continued to abide by the same customs that they had back in Europe. As
time passed, though, they began to have a different approach. One of the norms in
Europe was that women were to stay inside the house to attend to housework and to
take care of their children. However, in colonial America, that wasn t the only thing
expected from women; the role of women changed drastically. Despite it being
considered improper in Europe for women to work outdoors or tend to businesses
like men, colonial women joined men outside with tasks ranging from agricultural
duties to handling business affairs (Bjornlund 24). Consequently, colonial American
women played a critical role in the success of their families and the American
colonies, as well as America s independence. Women, like the floors and walls of a...

immigrants for setting up a community halfway around the globe would have gone to
waste. Without women, America would not be the America we see

Deep Ecology And Religion Essay
Through this portion of class readings and discussions, we have sought deeper
meaning and understanding of philosophies of individuals and organizations that
revolve around the fundamental aspects and notions of deep ecology and eco
activism. These associations offer more views and attitudes on how an individual and
society can create and maintain a kinshipand positive influencewith the natural
environment.
Like deep ecologist s view on the metaphysical relationship of man and nature. Eco
activist s contend to a belief of ecology as religion (Kinsley 193). They take their
duty with the environment as a deeply spiritual, physical, and emotional connection.
Specifically, an environmental action group called Green Peace, brings forth a ...

This will allow the opinions and assumptions towards the planetary consciousness to

This idea of finding your place is an exceptional solution for an individual to get back

The Mayor of Casterbridge by Thomas Hardy Essay
The Mayor of Casterbridge by Thomas Hardy
Thomas Hardy wrote the novel The Mayor of Casterbridge in 1886. Two of the
main characters, Donald Farfrae and Michael Henchard have a contrast in luck and
Hardy uses characterisation, language, historical and social background and a craft
in the structure of his novel to help bring across this point. During this essay I am
going to comment upon how Hardy does this and further consider the view that,
Farfrae s good fortune is a result of Henchard s ill luck.
Throughout the novel there are many examples of Farfrae s good fortune resulting in
Henchard s ill luck. One of the most important examples in the book is when
Henchard and Farfrae both gamble on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both of these types of characterisation link in with Farfrae s good fortune and
Henchard s ill luck.
Hardy creates Henchard not as an evil man but more of tragic hero. This is a
person with a fatal flaw. Henchard s main flaw is his temper. This first adds to his
ill luck right at the start of the novel when he sells Susan and his daughter in a
drunken angry state. Even though this does not directly link in with Farfrae s
good fortune (as he is not present in the start of the novel) it does later on in the
novel when the furmity seller arrives back and tells the court of Henchard s secret.
When Henchard admits to what is being said by the old women all respect is lost
for him and he looses his role of town mayor. When Farfrae finally becomes mayor
near the end of the novel (after the mayor after Henchard dies) his good fortune is
a result of Henchard s ill luck which is the result of his fatal flaw. Hardy also uses
fate against Henchard throughout the whole novel. An example of this is when
Henchard and Farfrae both hold a dance for the townspeople. Farfrae has his in a
barn whereas Henchard s is out in the open. When it rains on the night of the dance
everyone turns out to Farfrae s even Susan and Elizabeth Jane. This leads to Farfrae
s popularity rising and Henchard s to carry on decreasing (as the dance was a hope to

Persuasive Essay On Freedom Of Speech
Freedom of Speech What is free speech? Does the term free speech cover offensive
words? Painful ones? Words that disrespect others? What about objectionable, or
even wrong beliefs? When is speech illegal? What is exactly meant by free speech?
According to Rampell, the term free speech includes hate speech , and is therefore
protected by the first amendment (np). This means that even messages we don t like,
agree with, feel uncomfortable about, or even are disgusted by, are legal.
Unfortunately, many college students consider harmful words an assault, and some
students believe that such verbal attacks can and should be met with violence (French
np). Students and speakers today are discriminated against in classrooms and other
scenes where free speech and debateshould be especially cherished. In 2017 alone,
there have been multiple riots born of originally peaceful protests. Students in
Middlebury College in Vermont revolted at a peaceful debate with far right
Charles Murray. While Murray tried to reach his building, a mob formed, forcing
him and his debate partner, Allison Stanger, to move to another building (Beinhart
np). When Murray and Stanger tried to leave, they and the car they were in were
attacked by students. The leftist Stanger was sent to the emergency room because
she tried to protect the guest (Fatzick np). In Berkeley, California, students were up
in arms, wanting to prevent Milo Yiannopoulos from speaking. Their haste to
silence a man they disagreed with led to a huge disaster. In the streets, fellow
classmates were attacked. One student who supported President Trump was brutally
beaten, and an innocent bystander who claimed to be Muslim was assaulted for
looking like a Nazi (Ramaiyer np). Others were beset upon as well, with pepper
spray, matches, and baseball bats. In total, only one person was arrested (French np).
Unless this one person attacked this many people and businesses, it s safe to assume
that dozens of perpetrators have gone unpunished for the crime of hurting a human
being! This free speech is not protected under the First Amendment. People are
hurting other people. Another time Mr. Yiannopoulos attempted to give a speech,
protesters rudely barged into the lecture

Medical Ethics As A Moral Compass
Medical Ethics as a Moral Compass
I work for a government run medical center. As an organization we are run by
government oversight, rules and regulations and high powered patient complaints. If
a provider is not ethically oriented they will be found out and dismissed quickly. The
flip side of the coin, most people work at this medical center because they enjoy their
work and the patient population. We work well with one another and come together
overall for the common good. There are no incentives which can lead to ethical
misconduct. Additionally, physicians have their own code of ethics. The Hippocratic
Oath, is a set of principles for physicians conduct, which aim to protect the rights of
the patient and oblige the physician voluntarily to behave in an altruistic manner
towards patients (Riddick, 2003). The four basic principles of medical ethics
(autonomy, justice, beneficence and non maleficence) form the foundation for health
professionals to guide and decide what practices are ethical. These basic ethical
principles are based on the major documents of healthcare ethics (Hippocratic Oath,
Nuremberg code and Helsinki declaration). Future doctors and nurses are expected to

We are only human after all, and we are likely to make mistakes when it comes to
the gray areas of ethics. One way to assure we do the best we can is keep the lines
of communication open and the feeling of a safe zone ever present. If employees
feel like they are in a safe environment and can question a practice, or even a superior,
than we are less likely to have unethical issues get out of control. Finally, ensuring
clarity in the organizational ethical culture promotes higher work engagement, less
emotional strain and exhaustion, and lower turnover rate. These all lead to a decrease
in unethical activity and a healthier work environment (Huhtala et al.,
Old Kingdom Vs New Kingdom
Ancient Egypt was located in Northeast Africa. The Egyptians were settled along
the Nile river. They were south of the Mediterranean Sea, West of the Red Sea, and
North of Nubia (Kush). Because the Nile River flooded annually, it would provide
rich soil for Egyptian farmers. Ancient Egyptians were around beginning at the Old
Kingdom at 2575 B.C. and ending at the New Kingdom at 1075 B.C.. Ancient Egypts
history is divided into three periods of time, The Old Kingdom, The Middle
Kingdom, and the New Kingdom. The Old Kingdom was established at about
2575 B.C and ended around 2130 B.C.. The Old Kingdom lasted about four
hundred and forty five years. Approximately one hundred and ninety two years later,
the Middle Kingdom was established. The Middle Kingdom was created around
1938 B.C. and ended at 1630 B.C.. Finally, after ninety one years, the final kingdom
was the New Kingdom. The New kingdom lasted from 1539 B.C. to 1075 B.C..

It was not until the early 1870s that child abuse was first brought into light. The
Child Protection Movement started with the news of one eight year old orphan
named Mary Ellen Wilson. After the passing of her biological mother and father,
Mary Ellen was left in the care of her biological father s widow, Mary McCormack
Connolly. Mrs. McCormack Connolly badly mistreated Mary Ellen, and neighbors
in the building were well aware of the child s predicament (Mary Ellen Wilson,
2013). It was not until Etta Angell Wheeler, a caring Methodist mission worker,
visited the residence and noticed Mary Ellen s condition. Ms. Wheeler describes her
first meeting with Mary Ellen, as such:
It was December and the weather bitterly cold. She was a tiny mite, the size of five
years, though, as afterward appeared, she was then nine. From a pan set upon a
low stool she stood washing dishes, struggling with a frying pan about as heavy as
herself. Across the table lay a brutal whip of twisted leather strands and the child s
meagre arms and legs bore many marks of its use. But the saddest part of her story
was written on her face in its look of suppression and misery, the face of a child
unloved, of a child that had seen only the fearsome side of life. These things I saw
while seeming not to see, and I left without speaking to, or of, the child. I never

Michael H. Stone in The Anatomy of Evil states that there are several factors that
influence a serial killer s behavior. The factors that may influence behavior are
presented in a nature versus nurture model with occasional factors falling into a
category of mixed and/or unknown origins (201). The factors that Stone considers to
pertain to an individual s natural environment include mental illness that is coupled
with psychosis, schizophrenia, manic depression, autism, and Aspergers Syndrome.
Also included in the list of natural factors are mental illnesses without psychosis such
as ADD and ADHD, alcoholism, epilepsy, and an inordinate sexual drive (201).
Personality disorders are considered to be inherent to an individual and are therefore
considered to be a part of an individual s natural environment; personality disorders
include being antisocial, psychopathic, schizoid, sadistic, paranoid, and/or impulsive
aggressive (201). Stone identifies nurture factors as parental physical/sexual/verbal
abuse, parental abandonment and/or neglect, the loss of a parent, absence of a father,
separation and/or divorce of the parental unit before the child is 16, and brain disease
or damage (201). The factors that Stone considers to be attributed to mixed or
unknown origins include paraphilia, juvenile delinquency, substance abuse,
alcoholism, conduct disorders that are committed in childhood, animal torture and
arson,

Comparision Of Microscale Masses Of Hydrogen And
Oxygen
Abstract
In this experiment, microscale quantities of hydrogen and oxygen were generated to
test their explosive nature both separately and in mixtures of various proportions in
order to identify the mixture with the most explosive energy, via a pop test that
measured relative loudness, thus determining the optimal ratio for their combustion
reaction to give water, and determine a mole ratio for the reaction in a balanced
equation. Each gas mixture was then tested for power as fuel through the launching
of a micro mole rocket. The gases were produced via two separate generators which
isolated a chemical reaction to either produce oxygen or hydrogen gas, the reactions
included the single replacement reaction reaction of zinc and hydrochloric acid to
generate hydrogen gas, and the yeast catalyzed decomposition of hydrogen peroxide
to generate oxygen gas ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Gas collection bulbs were filled with different proportions of each gas,
proportional to the number of moles of gas present, and were tested for relative
loudness, which represented power/ explosive energy via a pop test in which a
match was struck near the bulb. The loudness was measured via a scale in which
the most explosive mixture was given a ten and the least explosive given a zero.
The ratios were tested for their ability to launch the bulb a distance during a rocket
launch in which the bulb rocket was placed on a launch pad and ignited by a piezo
sparker. Both dependent variables, distance and loudness represented overall
explosion energy and were used to indicate which of the ratios represented the
optimum ratio of hydrogen and oxygen to give water in a combustion reaction. To
be considered valid, the amount of error in each data point must have fallen into the
range of average deviation of the measurements. Data was error prone for relative
loudness was measured based on blind perception of a

Surely You Re Joking Mr. FeynmanВ… Essay
It is hard not to enjoy this author. Richard Feynman is an extremely curious
character with a lot of time on his hands. He obviously loved to explore the science
world as an art. He won the Nobel Prize in 1965 for physics and was one of the
greatest physicists of all time. Within the few chapters and pages that I have read,
Richard Feynmanwas definitely a man with a huge sense of adventure and a very high
intelligence. In the first chapter that I read (Testing Bloodhounds), I thought that it
was very interesting. I never knew that we, as humans, could smell and observe things
just like dogs. To my understanding we can tell just about anything from smelling and
looking at something that has just been touched. I thought it was cool... Show more

Feynman had a good excuse for picking locks though. Going through filing cabinets
may not have been legal, but Feynman did it. Today, if we were to pick a lockin a Dr.
s office, we would definitely get in trouble, it seemed like Feynman hardly ever got
into trouble. He was probably so well respected that no one really cared if he broke
into cabinets or houses for that matter. The Third chapter that I read was, Certainly
Mr. Big! It was a chapter of excitement to say the least! I think that Feynman was
trying to figure out all of the games that people played with money and life. This
chapter was not really my favorite. It had a lot of information and it was just weird.
The way that he explained the situation with the high roller from Texas was kind of
confusing and boring. Oh well, I guess you cannot always enjoy every single
chapter in every single book that you read. The one thing that I did find out in this
chapter, is that Richard Feynman likes women. That along with learning not to be a
gentleman is what I learned most. I thought it was different to hear that he did not
want to be a gentleman, but then when he explained it further with the Texas high
roller I got what he was saying. It was definitely a packed chapter with lots of
information in it. The fourth chapter I read was, Is electricity Fire? I liked how he
brought God into science in this chapter. It is often hard to relate
How Is Napoleon Bonaparte A Hero
Napoleon Bonaparte was the French leader in the late 1700s. He is known as an
intelligent and clever military leader. He went to military school at the age of
nine, and finished school at the age of 16 eventually becoming a lieutenant in the
artillery. Napoleon Bonaparte had many successes and failures, however his
failures overpowered his successes which makes him a tyrant. While leading he
went into many wars and lost many soldiers. By the end many people were not on
his side and many did not believe in what he was doing as the leader of France,
therefore making him a villain for France. Napoleon Bonaparte had many
weaknesses as a leader which caused him to have many defeats. The Directory
selected Napoleon to lead the French army in 1796 and this is what got him started
leading France and the people. To defend French trade Napoleon took his army to
Europe and the British army trapped Napoleon and his army. Napoleon
manipulated the people by keeping what had happened out of the news so that he
could be known as a great hero to the French people. If he did not cover up that he
was defeated and was trapped the French people might have realized that he failed at
his duty and was not the best for leader for the army.... Show more content on

Feminism One Of The Biggest Topics Today And Is Defined
Feminism one of the biggest topics today and is defined as the public support of the
rights of women on the basis of equality of the sexes. In fact, the main reason
feminism is such a popular topic is because of how men were treated as the dominant
gender .
Back then, women were given specific roles by society to be housewives and only
cook and take care of the children. The idea of feminism, however, did slowly
develop until in 1848 after their oppression, when the first Women s conference was
held in Seneca Falls, America. Ever since then, the amount of feminists and feminist
activities around the world have increased a great amount. Feminism has become a

Essay On Unrequited Love In Hamlet
Every person falls in love which is why it is such a prevalent theme in literature and
art. In Shakespeare s Hamlet, love is the driving force for the tragic ending. The play
begins with Claudius murdering his brother, which in part is done out of love for
Gertrude. Throughout, the audience watches Hamletstruggle with his morals, unsure
whether to do what is right, or to enact revenge out of lovefor his father. At the end,
Laertes sets all the plans in motion because of his own family love, which is what
creates the tragedy. Not only is Hamlet a tragedy due to a desire of revenge, but also
it is the misplaced love the characters hold that truly binds the tragedy.
Unrequited love is an emotion the large majority of people feel at least once in his
/her life. Most of the time, these crushes fade away over a few months and are quick
to be forgotten. In Hamlet, by Shakespeare, Claudius takes unrequited love to the
extreme, defying human nature to achieve the woman he desires:
CLAUDIUS: That cannot be; since I am still possess d
Of those effects for which I did the murder,
My crown, mine own ambition and my queen.
May one be pardon d and retain the offence? (III.iii.53)
The audience views Claudius attempting to pray. He wants forgiveness from the
heavens for the murder he commits, but he knows he does not deserve it when he
still possesses the things he kills for. It is this murder that sets the play in motion; his
displaced love turns him into a villain. Not once does

Democracy During The Colonial Period
During the colonial period the people were slowly evolving a democratic tradition.
This was due to the fact that they were far from England and British influence. The
British political system was only partially transferred to the colonials. Many writers
of this period were advocating a bicameral government and an independent
democratic state with a stronger central government. However, many aspects of daily
colonial life were undemocratic, but many were also democratic.
Some of the early democratic acts involved the Virginia House of Burgesses (1619),
The Fundamental Orders of Connecticut (1639), and Maryland s Act of Toleration
(1649). The House of Burgesses in Virginia was made up of elected representatives
chosen by the people to allow
The Harlem Renaissance
Over the course of time, many different movements have occurred. The most
influential types have ranged from revolutionary movements to feminism. These
movements have changed the course of society and kept a different outlook on new
ideas. A very important idea that needed to be stressed was the freedom of African
Americans. For so long they were slaves and treated extremely poorly. Eventually,
they became free people. However, they were still not viewed as equal. It took many
years to move even one step in the right direction. A specific movement did help the
African America appear independent and equal. One of the most influential
movements and still occurring to this day is the Harlem Renaissance. The Harlem
Renaissance is the cultural movement of the 1920 s. The movement essentially
kindled a new black cultural identity through art, literature and intellect. The Harlem
Renaissance started during the Roaring Twenties. It took place in Harlem, New York.
It became most prominent in the mid to late 1920 s and it diminished toward the
early 1930 s (Henderson). The Harlem Renaissance was initially called the New
Negro Movement or the New Negro Renaissance. It was the result of numerous
components, including the Great Migration. After World War I, countless African
Americans left the country South for urban communities of the North looking for
better employment and a more tolerant environment. By 1918, Harlem, New York
had the highest number of black peopleon the planet,

American blacks. More black musicians saw jazz for the first time a profession.
Since its beginnings jazz has branched out into so many styles that no single
description fits all of them with total accuracy.
Performers of jazz improvise within the conventions of their chosen style.
Improvisation gave jazz a personalized, individualized, and distinct feel. Most jazz is
based on the principle that an infinite number of melodies can fit the cord
progressively of any cord. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During a period when most improvisers were satisfied simply to embellish or
paraphrase a tune, Armstrong himself was a master at both. Armstrong^s command
of the trumpet was arguable greater than that of any preceding jazz trumpeter who
recorded.
In actuality, the revolution initiated by Armstrong took place
in fits and starts, and with little fanfare at the time. After
Armstrong^s departure from the King Oliver Creole Band, over a year would
transpire before he would record as a leader. And even when those famous recordings
were planned the classic quot;Hot Fives quot; the record company considered
enlisting a better known leader to front the band. Most accounts stress that
Armstrong^s talents may have been neglected by the general public, but were amply
recognized by the musical community quot; his playing was revered by countless jazz
musicians, quot; runs a typical commentary but even this claim is suspect. Fletcher
Henderson, Armstrong^s first major employer after
Oliver, made the trumpeter accept a cut in pay to join his band. Many accounts
suggest that Henderson, in fact , preferred the playing of cornetist Joe Smith, And
that Armstrong was hired only because Smith was unavailable. Smith lacked
Armstrong^s rhythmic drive, yet his warm sound and ease of execution could hardly
be faulted and may have been better receive by the average dancehall patron.
Big Bend Rocks
Geology of the Big Bend (Rocks)
The only types of rocks found in Big Bend National park are Sedimentary (N.P).
The specific names for these rocks are: limestones, shale and sandstones, clay,
Lava Flow, Conglomerate, Marl, and Cherty Limestone are found in this park
(N.P). These rocks were likely abundant throughout the park; when the area was
covered by a salty sea during the Cretaceous period (N.P). The way how these rocks
formed is by the results of pebbles being cemented together. Another way how the
rocks can form is by how the earliest layer of rock was deposited in a relatively deep
marine environment. After the next layer above the shale indicates that the rock is
deposited in a very shallow way, that s when the ocean water starts

1.5 Usefulness of financial statements to stakeholders:
A financial statement is a legitimate record of the financial activities of a business,
person, or other entity. On the other hand, a person, group or organization that has
interest or concern in an organization is known as its stakeholder. Stakeholders are
one kind of owner for an organization.
As a result these people want to know about the organization in details in which they
are going to invest. In this regards financial statement or financial records are useful
instruments for providing those information to the stakeholders. Usefulness of
financial statements for stakeholders is discussed below: * A stakeholder is
interested in the equity of the firm. The ultimate objective of a firm used to be
maximizing profits. But now a days, goals have widened because of the changing
environment in which the firm operates and includes earnings per share, employment
numbers, management satisfaction, environmental protection and many other factors
that have an effect on the equity of the business. For this reason, the stakeholders are
interested in the financial information of the organization. * The firm s performance
can be assessed through an income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement.
Nutrition Key Elements
The product represents an authentic demonstration competency, it will give you a
solid foundation that will assist in making healthy decisions. We had to break it into
three different elements. Those elements are physical , emotional, and social. We had
to find different ways that better our health. I am going to start with the first element
and that is physical.
My first element I am going to discuss is physical. This may include dietary choices,
the use of supplements or medicine, exercise choices, weight management, and the
elimination of tobacco use. The first one being dietary choices, I would like to start
eating healthier. I want to go to three meals a day without the snacks in between. I
have a bad habit of drinking sweet tea, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It asked a few questions like What would you do to improve on your existing
relationships or build new ones? What considerations would be key in your being
able to do this successfully? The things I would do to improve my existing
relationship would have to be more considerate. When I have a strong feeling
about something I am determined to do it. It s usually my way or no way , even if
I end up being wrong. That has affected my relationship a lot. Another thing I
would like to do to improve my relationship would have to be help my boyfriend
get his drinking under control. I never thought it was that bad, until last February
he totaled his truck and got a DUI. He was in the hospital for three days. I can
honestly say that he is very lucky to be alive today. During that time I had just
moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana. I didn t know anyone except his mother and sister,
but they lived 25 minutes away from the area. It was really hard on me because I
felt like he was being selfish and didn t really care about anything, but himself. It
really put my in a bad state of mind. I had just quit a good paying job here and left
my family, and for him to even put himself in that situation made me think he just
didn t care. A few months later he started drinking heavily again. I came to realize
he s an alcoholic. His father was also an alcoholic. Luckily, his father has been sober
for about ten years. I want to see my boyfriend to reach
Senior Center Essay
There is no escaping the simple fact that life is full of challenges. From the
moment we begin our life journey we are presented with choices. Early on, most
of those choices are made by our parents. As we grow older, we start to make our
own decisions about where we want to live, go to school, work and who we want to
spend our lives with. When we approach retirementage, we re given yet another set of
choices to make on how we want to spend the golden years. Isn t this what you ve
been working for your entire life, to retire in a relaxing, stress free environment and
have fun? The issue then becomes where a senior center.

Senior Centers services enable older adults to remain in their own homes and age in
their own space, rather than being institutionalized.
If you take the time to visit a senior center, ask a senior center participant to tell his
or her story of what the center means to them, your experience of sharing love will
be renewed as you witness their eyes lighting up, their beautiful smiles and erect
shoulder as they relate their story to a very captive audience. It s wonderful to see the
interactions and understand the miracles that happen every day at the senior centers.
Currently, there are 14 senior centers within Orleans Parish under the umbrella of the
New Orleans Council on Aging. My role as Senior Center Director is to assist the
center directors with day to day operations at each center, a part of which is looking
for additional funding or funders, linking their participants with resources offered by
other agencies, making sure the center promotes the physical, emotional and
economic well being of older adults, helping senior centers raise their game and
strengthen their offerings. The work that each Director does in the center and within
the community is incredibly valuable to the Aging Population and the New Orleans

Nimmer s Copyright Act Summary
In this opinion, Nimmer relies on legislative intent underlying the Copyright Act to
arrive at a literal interpretation of the definition of a fixed or tangible medium ,
however this interpretation does not account for the fact that tattoo artwork had
gained a great deal more commercial prominence since when the CopyrightAct was
drafted. As such, the tattooartist, like the artist commissioned to paint a mural or
create an original work on art on canvas requires a human body to effectively express
his or her creativity. In this sense, the interpretation offered by Nimmer ignores the
fact that a tattoo artist without a human canvas to work on is simply a sketch artist. It
reasons then, if one is willing to recognize the copyrightability

her first menstrual period, but usually occurs after the onset of her periods.

reason why teenage women drop out of school

Why males were ever excluded from the way we think about pregnancy prevention is
puzzling, write the authors of the recent report Involving Males in Preventing Teen
Pregnancy. Sexual behavior involves two partners. Relegating fertility and family to
the world of women, the authors write, has kept us from acknowledging what should
have been obvious that males must be involved in any policy solution to unintended
pregnancies among teenagers.
The report continues that it is well known that adolescent boys initiate sex earlier
than girls. But contrary to stereotypes about males disregard for contraception, the
authors say, overwhelming evidence shows that for many years teenage boys have
played a key role in providing contraception. In addition, this pattern has improved
steadily over the last few decades. These shifts in behavior, the researchers conclude,
suggests that pregnancy prevention efforts that include young men are crucial and
will not necessarily fall on deaf

Interracial Marriage In Guess Who s Coming To Dinner Stanley Kramer s film, Guess Who s Coming to Dinner, explores the controversial issue of interracial marriage and reflects society s prejudicial views during the 1960 s. In the 60 s, the concept of an interracial marriage was foreign. At the time, it was considered illegal sixteen states for two people of different races to wed.(Kramer 1967). Joanna Drayton, the white daughter of a wealthy newspaper editor, and Dr. John Prentice, the son of a black mail man fall deeply in love after ten short days together in Hawaii(Kramer 1967).The Drayton s are wealthy and reside in the suburbs of San Francisco, where roughly only twelve percent of the town people are colored (Kramer 1967).Whereas, Dr. Prentice is from a low class family who live in Los Angeles.Statistically, the white racecomposes the majority of the middle and upper class.Typically those in the upper class have access to a more advantageous education, and as a result, are qualified for the higher paying job positions. The lower class which consists mostly of the black race, do not have the access to attend elite universities and be considered for top paying jobs.(Murray 2012). Social Recovery Sri Lanka is deeply committed to solving the post economic and social recovery conflict due to its 26 year civil year war, as it devastated nearly 66% of the population of its Northern and Eastern provinces. After the civil war against the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) ended in May 2009, most aspects of life suffered ___ hundreds of thousands of people were displaced, institutions disintegrated, and imperative irrigation schemes were in great need of repair. • 4. Rites Of The Catholic Church One of the most important sacraments of the Catholic Church is the Eucharist, also known as Holy Communion. The Eucharist is not merely the consumption of bread and wine, but a sacrifice and meal full of symbols, rituals, meaning and community involvement. To gain an understanding of the Eucharist, it is important to first to look at the symbols, how they were started, then to see how the Christian community enter into the mystery of the sacrament and what they believe. Symbols There are many symbols of the Eucharist, bread, wine, water, chalice There is a real presence of Christ in the form of bread and wine. In the Eucharist, Christ is present in the totality of His being. The Second Vatican Council proclaimed that the Eucharist is the source and summit of the Christian life the source and summit of the Christian life (Vatican II, Lumen Gentium, Dogmatic Constitution on the Church, paragraph 11),The real presence of Christ in the Eucharist comes about through transubstantiation meaning to change on an in perceivable level, we believe that bread and wine changes at a fundamental level have become the body and blood of Christ as a result of our prayers to God. St Augustine s sermon 272 stated that for what you see is simply bread and a cup this is the information your eyes report, but your faith demands far subtler insight the bread if Christ s body and the cup is Christ s blood We can argue that the Eucharist is a mystery. But what is the source of the Church s
  • 5. The Ethical Use Of Animal Experimentation In The United... In the United States, over 100 million animals are used for experimentation and testing every year. Most of these animals will either live a lifetime of misery and neglect or face death. A copious amount of controversy surrounds animal experimentation because of the way it is performed. Animal testing is done to test products for harsh chemicals, for medical research, and educational purposes. Products used by people everyday may have once been tested on animals. One way companies test on animals is they put rabbits into head holding devices. They are put into these devices to make it easier for chemicals and other products to be put in their eyes to see how much harm is done (Parks 68). Animals are dissected in order to teach students about the anatomy of living creatures. Students gain an understanding of the animal s internal structures, as well as how their tissues and organs are interrelated. (Parks 39). Animal s lungs are inflated to show how lungs work, pig s hearts are dissected to study the circulatory system, and impregnated rats are dissected to learn about their reproductive systems (Parks 40). Not only does dissection harm animals, it also harms the environment and the students that partake in the activity. When animals are taking out of their natural habitat it affects ecological balance and prevents bio diversity (Animals Used 9). The chemicals that are used to preserve the animals or specimens can be harmful to students and cause them to be ill (Animals Used 11). Nine states have created a choice in dissection law that allows students to use an alternative method of study without having to dissect, and they receive no deduction (Parks
  • 6. Disciplinary Modality Of Power By Foucault In the writings of Michel Foucault is the quote: ..one can speak of the formation of a disciplinary society in this movement that stretches from the enclosed disciplines, a sort of social quarantine , to an indefinitely generalizable mechanism of panopticism . Not because the disciplinary modality of power has replaced all the others; but because it has infiltrated the others, sometimes undermining them, linking them together.. • 8. Burmese Days Analysis Burmese Days was the book that took the history lecture and made it real life. To me, there is a big difference between being told something happened and realizing that it happened. History gives you a look back perspective. You have all the information so you are able to make an educated decision and judge the people of the time for what they did. Burmese Days allowed for a glimpse into the time period without that the rose covered glasses. We were in the middle of a British Colony and seeing everything that it could entail. In Burma, much like the other colonies, the British have made themselves the superior race. In Burmese Days Orwell showcases two native characters that have high ranks vocationally one Burmese, U Po Kyin, and one Indian, Dr. Veraswami, but because of their race are seen as inferior. Throughout the novel, these two have the goal of being elected a member of the English club, where the British people spend most of their free time avoiding the natives and pretending to be in England. The thing about either native being elected though, neither one of them planned on being an active member of the club. In fact, they knew it would be more of a symbolic membership. This idea of a symbolic membership inside of a little British society inside of Burma seemed to contradict the idea of the white man s burden that the British had been forcing down the world s throat as the built their empire. It was their duty to help these savages and children of

  • 10. The Significance Of Women During Colonial America The Significance of Women During Colonial America Life during colonial America was bleak; in many colonies such as Jamestown or Plymouth, from fewer than 150 people, a new community an ocean away from their old homes had to be created. Factors like agriculture, shelter, and economy were no exception to the long list of necessary things that needed to be developed. At first, the colonial people continued to abide by the same customs that they had back in Europe. As time passed, though, they began to have a different approach. One of the norms in Europe was that women were to stay inside the house to attend to housework and to take care of their children. However, in colonial America, that wasn t the only thing expected from women; the role of women changed drastically. Despite it being considered improper in Europe for women to work outdoors or tend to businesses like men, colonial women joined men outside with tasks ranging from agricultural duties to handling business affairs (Bjornlund 24). Consequently, colonial American women played a critical role in the success of their families and the American colonies, as well as America s independence. Women, like the floors and walls of a... Like deep ecologist s view on the metaphysical relationship of man and nature. Eco activist s contend to a belief of ecology as religion (Kinsley 193). This idea of finding your place is an exceptional solution for an individual to get back in touch with nature further it will allow an individual to have a deeper connection and knowledge with the people that encircle them. Chad Myer, who spoke to our class about Bioregionalism claims that economic globalization, has led us to displacement with people, environment, and ourselves. This globalization stemmed from the colonization of America. As the Europeans migrated the sense of individuality rose while the sense of belonging decreased. • 13. The Mayor of Casterbridge by Thomas Hardy Essay The Mayor of Casterbridge by Thomas Hardy Thomas Hardy wrote the novel The Mayor of Casterbridge in 1886. Two of the main characters, Donald Farfrae and Michael Henchard have a contrast in luck and Hardy uses characterisation, language, historical and social background and a craft in the structure of his novel to help bring across this point. During this essay I am going to comment upon how Hardy does this and further consider the view that, Farfrae s good fortune is a result of Henchard s ill luck. Throughout the novel there are many examples of Farfrae s good fortune resulting in Henchard s ill luck. One of the most important examples in the book is when Henchard and Farfrae both gamble on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Both of these types of characterisation link in with Farfrae s good fortune and Henchard s ill luck. Hardy creates Henchard not as an evil man but more of tragic hero. This is a person with a fatal flaw. Henchard s main flaw is his temper. This first adds to his ill luck right at the start of the novel when he sells Susan and his daughter in a drunken angry state. Even though this does not directly link in with Farfrae s good fortune (as he is not present in the start of the novel) it does later on in the novel when the furmity seller arrives back and tells the court of Henchard s secret. When Henchard admits to what is being said by the old women all respect is lost for him and he looses his role of town mayor. When Farfrae finally becomes mayor near the end of the novel (after the mayor after Henchard dies) his good fortune is a result of Henchard s ill luck which is the result of his fatal flaw. Hardy also uses fate against Henchard throughout the whole novel. An example of this is when Henchard and Farfrae both hold a dance for the townspeople. Farfrae has his in a barn whereas Henchard s is out in the open. When it rains on the night of the dance everyone turns out to Farfrae s even Susan and Elizabeth Jane. This leads to Farfrae s popularity rising and Henchard s to carry on decreasing (as the dance was a hope to regain some
  • 14. Persuasive Essay On Freedom Of Speech Freedom of Speech What is free speech? Does the term free speech cover offensive words? Painful ones? Words that disrespect others? What about objectionable, or even wrong beliefs? When is speech illegal? What is exactly meant by free speech? According to Rampell, the term free speech includes hate speech , and is therefore protected by the first amendment (np). This means that even messages we don t like, agree with, feel uncomfortable about, or even are disgusted by, are legal. Unfortunately, many college students consider harmful words an assault, and some students believe that such verbal attacks can and should be met with violence (French np). Students and speakers today are discriminated against in classrooms and other scenes where free speech and debateshould be especially cherished. In 2017 alone, there have been multiple riots born of originally peaceful protests. Students in Middlebury College in Vermont revolted at a peaceful debate with far right Charles Murray. While Murray tried to reach his building, a mob formed, forcing him and his debate partner, Allison Stanger, to move to another building (Beinhart np). When Murray and Stanger tried to leave, they and the car they were in were attacked by students. The leftist Stanger was sent to the emergency room because she tried to protect the guest (Fatzick np). In Berkeley, California, students were up in arms, wanting to prevent Milo Yiannopoulos from speaking. Their haste to silence a man they disagreed with led to a huge disaster. In the streets, fellow classmates were attacked. One student who supported President Trump was brutally beaten, and an innocent bystander who claimed to be Muslim was assaulted for looking like a Nazi (Ramaiyer np). Others were beset upon as well, with pepper spray, matches, and baseball bats. In total, only one person was arrested (French np). Unless this one person attacked this many people and businesses, it s safe to assume that dozens of perpetrators have gone unpunished for the crime of hurting a human being! This free speech is not protected under the First Amendment. People are hurting other people. Another time Mr. Yiannopoulos attempted to give a speech, protesters rudely barged into the lecture

  • 17. Medical Ethics As A Moral Compass Medical Ethics as a Moral Compass I work for a government run medical center. As an organization we are run by government oversight, rules and regulations and high powered patient complaints. If a provider is not ethically oriented they will be found out and dismissed quickly. The flip side of the coin, most people work at this medical center because they enjoy their work and the patient population. We work well with one another and come together overall for the common good. There are no incentives which can lead to ethical misconduct. Additionally, physicians have their own code of ethics. The Hippocratic Oath, is a set of principles for physicians conduct, which aim to protect the rights of the patient and oblige the physician voluntarily to behave in an altruistic manner towards patients (Riddick, 2003). The four basic principles of medical ethics (autonomy, justice, beneficence and non maleficence) form the foundation for health professionals to guide and decide what practices are ethical. These basic ethical principles are based on the major documents of healthcare ethics (Hippocratic Oath, Nuremberg code and Helsinki declaration). While reading the semi autobiographical, Bastard Out of Carolina, by Dorothy Allison, I was stunned by the explicit nature of the novel. We were introduced to a young narrator and protagonist named, Ruth Anne Bone Boatwright. Bone s family, like that of the author, experienced a impoverished life, all the while she tried to find her place in a society that had literally labeled her illegitimate. Merriam Webster defines illegitimate as being: (1) not recognized as lawful offspring; specifically: born of parents not married to each other (2) not rightly deduced or inferred illogical (3) departing for the regular erratic (4) not sanctioned by law illegal (5) not authorized by good usage. The Child Protection Movement started with the news of one eight year old orphan named Mary Ellen Wilson. After the passing of her biological mother and father, Mary Ellen was left in the care of her biological father s widow, Mary McCormack Connolly. Mrs. McCormack Connolly badly mistreated Mary Ellen, and neighbors in the building were well aware of the child s predicament (Mary Ellen Wilson, 2013). It was not until Etta Angell Wheeler, a caring Methodist mission worker, visited the residence and noticed Mary Ellen s condition. Ms. Wheeler describes her first meeting with Mary Ellen, as such: It was December and the weather bitterly cold. She was a tiny mite, the size of five years, though, as afterward appeared, she was then nine. From a pan set upon a low stool she stood washing dishes, struggling with a frying pan about as heavy as herself. Across the table lay a brutal whip of twisted leather strands and the child s meagre arms and legs bore many marks of its use. But the saddest part of her story was written on her face in its look of suppression and misery, the face of a child unloved, of a child that had seen only the fearsome side of life. These things I saw while seeming not to see, and I left without speaking to, or of, the child. I never

The factors that may influence behavior are presented in a nature versus nurture model with occasional factors falling into a category of mixed and/or unknown origins (201). The factors that Stone considers to pertain to an individual s natural environment include mental illness that is coupled with psychosis, schizophrenia, manic depression, autism, and Aspergers Syndrome. Also included in the list of natural factors are mental illnesses without psychosis such as ADD and ADHD, alcoholism, epilepsy, and an inordinate sexual drive (201). Personality disorders are considered to be inherent to an individual and are therefore considered to be a part of an individual s natural environment; personality disorders include being antisocial, psychopathic, schizoid, sadistic, paranoid, and/or impulsive aggressive (201). Comparision Of Microscale Masses Of Hydrogen And Oxygen Abstract In this experiment, microscale quantities of hydrogen and oxygen were generated to test their explosive nature both separately and in mixtures of various proportions in order to identify the mixture with the most explosive energy, via a pop test that measured relative loudness, thus determining the optimal ratio for their combustion reaction to give water, and determine a mole ratio for the reaction in a balanced equation. Each gas mixture was then tested for power as fuel through the launching of a micro mole rocket. The gases were produced via two separate generators which isolated a chemical reaction to either produce oxygen or hydrogen gas, the reactions included the single replacement reaction reaction of zinc and hydrochloric acid to generate hydrogen gas, and the yeast catalyzed decomposition of hydrogen peroxide to generate oxygen gas ... The ratios were tested for their ability to launch the bulb a distance during a rocket launch in which the bulb rocket was placed on a launch pad and ignited by a piezo sparker. Both dependent variables, distance and loudness represented overall explosion energy and were used to indicate which of the ratios represented the optimum ratio of hydrogen and oxygen to give water in a combustion reaction. He obviously loved to explore the science world as an art. He won the Nobel Prize in 1965 for physics and was one of the greatest physicists of all time. Within the few chapters and pages that I have read, Richard Feynmanwas definitely a man with a huge sense of adventure and a very high intelligence. In the first chapter that I read (Testing Bloodhounds), I thought that it was very interesting. I never knew that we, as humans, could smell and observe things just like dogs. Today, if we were to pick a lockin a Dr. s office, we would definitely get in trouble, it seemed like Feynman hardly ever got into trouble. He was probably so well respected that no one really cared if he broke into cabinets or houses for that matter. The Third chapter that I read was, Certainly Mr. Big! It was a chapter of excitement to say the least! I think that Feynman was trying to figure out all of the games that people played with money and life. This chapter was not really my favorite. It had a lot of information and it was just weird. The way that he explained the situation with the high roller from Texas was kind of confusing and boring. Oh well, I guess you cannot always enjoy every single chapter in every single book that you read. The one thing that I did find out in this chapter, is that Richard Feynman likes women. That along with learning not to be a gentleman is what I learned most. I thought it was different to hear that he did not want to be a gentleman, but then when he explained it further with the Texas high roller I got what he was saying. It was definitely a packed chapter with lots of information in it. The fourth chapter I read was, Is electricity Fire? I liked how he brought God into science in this chapter.
