1. Evaluation: Who would be the audience for your media product?
First of all my magazine target audience is aimed towards teenagers to young adults, this means people roughly between the ages
of 13-25. My magazine is also aimed towards both genders. The ethnicity it is specifically aimed at and towards are Africans and
African Americans living from middle class or anything below. The most important demographic is the religion aspect. My magazine
is target at Christians specifically. I feel that my magazine targets this market demographic simply by featuring artists of the same
demographic and having their images plastered throughout the magazine. If an audience sees something they are familiar with or
something that reflects them on a front cover they are most likely to pick it up and have a read. Having something that your
specific target demographic can relate to on the front cover of your magazine will most probably make readers more interested
and catch their eyes upon the first glance. In addition to this I also feel that the bold and strong colour scheme appeals to the
demographic reflecting the bold and lively atmosphere of the youth church/gospel industry.
If I were to create an ideal consumer
profile for my target audience they
would look close to this
2. Evaluation: Who would be the audience for your media product?
Age wise I feel that my main target audience would watch shows that any normal teenager or younger adult would watch, however
you would also find it that from time to time they may tend to switch over to GOD channel or BET when playing Christian based
music, or any of the gospel channels that SKY offer to their viewers. Living in the UK the main gospel radio station aimed at all ages
is premiere radio, playing a wide range of contemporary gospel music, so it is thought that my target audience will also be listening
to this radio station a lot or most of the time when on the radio. In addition to this I also expect them to follow their favourite
gospel artists on social networking sites such as twitter, instagram and maybe even sound cloud. This allows them to regularly
check up on what these artists are up to and keep them up to date with the music they release, seeing as the younger generation
of society is so in touch with these methods of social networking.
