Age

 The age range that my magazine will be targeted at would range
from the ages of 16 up until the age of around 25/26.
 When deciding the age range that I wanted my magazine to focus
on was difficult as I had to consider many issues and factors to
ensure that it maintain a successful standard. Issues that I
considered was the vocabulary that I could use as it had to be a
ppropriate for 16+. Therefore I decided to use 16 as the youngest
age that my magazine can appeal to as it may contain vocabulary
that isn’t suitable for any ages below 15 therefore it gave me a little
bit of lee-way. I believe 16 is a good age as it is the age where
people either decide to stay on at sixth form or college or even go
into full time employment. Furthermore I decided the oldest age that
my magazine would appeal to would be 25 as this can be an age
where people start to have families to fund for therefore leading them
not being able to afford or put their salaries towards a magazine.
 Similarly as the age range is quite wide it would mean that I would
have to ensure that my magazine maintain a professional standard
and not look tacky to maintain the interest of the particular target
    audience.
Gender Divide

 In the pie chart illustrated below it portrays to
what extent my magazine will appeal to the two
opposing genders. It emphasises that my
magazine will appeal to the female audience to
an higher extent in comparison to the male
gender. This could be due to the main model
cover, house style, layout etc. Although it has a
tendency to appeal to the female gender I will
still try my hardest to keep to a unisex style
ensuring that I can try and aim my magazine at
as large of an audience as possible.
 Similarly my magazine could appeal more to
women as it is stereotyped that mainly women
read and spend their money on magazines
anyway whereas the male gender may spend
their money on drink, sports or more manly
items. This would impact on the sales of my
magazine however hopefully I can try and
promote equality and reduce the stereotyped
    view between men and women.
Social Class

 I have decided to price my magazine between £3.00-
£4.00 as it will only be issued monthly ensuring that the
target audience get their value for money. My magazine
doesn’t focus on a particular social class however will be
more aimed at the ABC1 class as most magazines are
    aimed to this particular class.
 However although I have stated that my magazine can
appeal to class A this may not be the case as it may not
grab the audiences interest as the content and context
may notappeal to their standards. Similarly they may not
agree with the vocabulary used to the upbringing of the
    youth in society.
 Hopefully I can aim and ensure my magazine appeals to
the social classes of all ABC1 as I want it to appeal to a
wide range of different people from different
    backgrounds.
Interests

 Clearly the interests of the reader/ target audience would
have to have some sort of interest in the music industry
or particular genres of music as the genre of my
magazine is music based particularly focusing on the
R’n’B industry. They may also as a bonus have an
interest in gigs, concerts, and festivals to really relate
with the content and context of my magazine.
 As I am basing my magazine on a particular genre of
music being R’n’B the audience/reader would have to
have an interest in all the latest and greatest R’n’B artists
and be up to date with all the recent gossip and news
that may be based in the R’n’B industry.
 Furthermore it would be good if the reader/ audience had
an interest in fashion and all the latest styles and trends
as my magazine is going to be very modern and up-to-
date with all the newest fashions statements etc.
Social Habits
 The social habits that the readers/audience that are
appealed to my magazine would have are having out
going characteristics and being the party animal type
    of person.
 Similarly the target audience would be interested
and often be found going to gigs or concerts.
