Industrial Revolutions
Historically, industrial revolutions have caused the most notable changes in work. The First Industrial
Revolution, driven by steam, and the Second Industrial Revolution, driven by electricity, led to an
increase in technology, production, and jobs especially among women, as illustrated by the photo of
Rosie the Riveter, depicting a woman in the workforce urging other women to engage in employment
(Human Development Report; Miller). While there had been fears of future unemployment due to the
rapid rise in machines performing the tasks of people, in 1962, President John F. Kennedy quelled
these fears by claiming, If men have the talent to invent new machines that put men out of work, they
have the talent to put those men back to work ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Early in A World Without Work, The Atlantic expresses fear for future employment by predicting an
era of technological unemployment (Thompson 7). However, The Atlantic also notes, The U.S. labor
force has been shaped by millennia of technological process....the total number of jobs has always
increased (Thompson 7). While in the past, employers searched for pinsetters, milk men, newspaper
readers, ice cutters, and typists, now, those occupations as well as similar jobs have been eliminated
due to the increased role that technology has played. However, the United States Department of Labor
shows that new jobs are constantly appearing. In fact, During the Clinton Gore administration, more
than 19 million new jobs...[were] created a rate of growth more than twice that of the previous decade.
High technology industries account for one million of these new jobs ( Futurework ). With the
increase in technology around the world, thus, an increase in globalization, new generations have used

Invasive Species Threatens The Ecosystem
Invasive Species Threatens the Ecosystem Every life form all over the world depends on the
ecosystem for its survival. However, the ecosystem can be threatened when there is an excess or drop
in resources. Many people will argue that human beings are the primary cause of this economic
imbalance but are people the root of this problem? No. There is evidence that invasive species all over
the country has also threatened our ecosystem. Invasive species are any living organism such a plants,
fungus, insects, and fish just to name a few. Invasive species pose a threat to wildlife in many ways. (
National Wildlife Federation, 2009) states species brought into an atmosphere that doesn t have any
predators are considered dangerous. They often breed and spread rapidly, assuming control over a
region. Local untamed life has no advanced safeguards against the trespasser, and they stand no
chance against species that has no predators (p.2). Furthermore, these species invade areas that they
aren t indigenous to and reproduce quickly. To further understand the underlying crux of invasive
species and how this matter may come to fruition, I will provide an analogy of an article that addresses
this problem, by summarizing and identifying the negative impact invasive species have on the
ecosystem. Today, some may say that human beings are the reason invasive species prevail. According
to Bright (1999), Obtrusive species are being transported through the worldwide

Examine urbanization in India with specific reference to urban infrastructure provisioning.
Introduction
One third of India s total population lives in town and city and it is expected to increase half by
reaching 2025. It is also one of the greater facts that around 60 % of city urban population lives in
slums and this also will definitely grow to a larger by 2025. There are reasons to it such as inadequate
economic position; inadequate finance and lack of transparency in governance and service

(Anderson, 19664). India s urbanization is least in compared to other countries of the world
urbanization took place very late, between 1951 to 2001, the level of urbanization increased by only
13%, however if we see the census of the country we can see the rise of population in every decade.
More than 2 /3rd populations of India lives in urban agglomerations, agglomeration are those regions
which has population greater than one million. Now the country is facing the rural urban migration in
a large extent. Rural population are migrating to urban areas in search of jobs, majority among them
were unskilled so they get into unorganized sector in the form of labour work force. The cities are
developing in constructing new houses malls, buildings, MNCs Multiplexes, Metros, Roads etc but the
workers involved in this gets very less in return, as they fall under lower level of income group and
hence they are bound to live in slums of the city that is one of the reason slums are un expectangely
getting higher in cities.
In most of the county s cities are planned, Beijing, Hon Kong, Las angles, Paris etc. are one such

Woodrow Wilson saw the end of the Great War as an opportunity to attempt to remake the World and

and international cooperation among a concert of democratic nations. Wilsonianism would greatly
impact modern era Presidents Foreign policy attempts to influence the world in the twentieth and
twenty first centuries. Specifically, after World War II during the Cold War the U.S. was instrumental
in the promotion of the safety of all nations from, poverty, want, chaos and authoritarian rule (CP

out his own interpretation Wilsonian foreign policy known as the Truman Doctrine. The Truman
Doctrine sought to combat the spread of communism through financial and military counter forces.
Not all of Truman s efforts for U.S. intervention were as fruitful for the U.S. internationally or
economically as his advisors had predicted. Nor did the Truman Doctrine always create the intended
and desired outcomes they had hoped to achieve in securing democratic nations as trading partners
and allies against the expansion of communist regimes. The attempts of the United States to remake
the World after WWI and WWII were only partially achieved. The United States pursued a successful

Emotional Intelligence And Organizational Leadership
Emotional Intelligence and Organizational Leadership
Various authors have been debating the issue of emotional intelligence and organizational leadership.
However, the existing discourse on the matter has been hampered in terms of limited theoretical
applications. Moreover, many analysts have failed to propose effective relationships among
constructs, thus failing to offer any meaningful relationship between emotional intelligence and
organizational leadership. Nevertheless, many authors offer a candid evaluation of the issue in terms
of discussing empirical data although few of them create a relationship between organizational
leadership and emotional intelligence. By considering the work of Dabke (2014) for instance, the

This assertion makes his studies inconsistent. By recommending further study in the analysis of
emotional intelligence, the author contracts his empirical result. The results indicated that participants
believe that organizational leaders can use emotional intelligence for recruiting staff. Lack of theories
in this work also makes it deficient. Al Noor s work gives a detailed discussion of leadership styles in
relationship to emotional intelligence. The author decided to consider gender differences in the way
leaders manage their organizations. By discussing transactional and leadership styles about emotional
intelligence, this work can illustrate how female leaders score higher when it comes to emotional
mentoring (Noor, 2011). The author s work gives a more meaningful discussion of the relationship
between emotional intelligence and organizational leadership. Moreover, he presents a better
theoretical basis for his ideas. He uses contingency theory as well as situational ethics in his analysis.
The author is quite consistent in his analysis and avoids overdependence on empirical data even as he
forms his opinion on the issue. Most of the works in this analysis focused on discussing research
findings. The decision of the author to combine empirical research and scholarly review distinguishes
his work from others that discuss the relationship between emotional intelligence and organizational
leadership.

Heinz Spicy Ketchup
Heinz, the most recognizable condiment brand in the world is back at it again, and this time they are
spicing it up. This famous company wishes to tempt all consumers into wanting a ketchup that not
only moistures what ever food it is placed on, but also spices it up and adds extra flavors to all foods.
In order to sell the product, they adopt a humorous tone to make the consumer remember the product,
crave the product, and the consumer will then logically make the choice of Heinz to satisfy their spicy
tomato ketchup needs. Heinz supports that their spicy ketchup should be bought by first reminding the
public of the company s credibility, then humoring them, and finally using simple logic to prove that
their ketchup is spicy. The famous company does need to try to hard to establish their credibility. They
simply need to remind us how long they have been offering savory tomato sauce, and the consumer
knows, IT HAS TO BE HEINZ. According to a survey conducted in 2014, the most used ketchup

Boss s Poem The World Is In Pencil

December 8, 2014
Three Years of Permanent Ink I struggle with opening up my emotions when reading a story or poem.
I stay bottled up because if I feel something for it, it just makes me think of a time when I felt
worthless. The poem The World Is in Pencil, by Todd Boss opened me up and allowed me to feel
vulnerable. Its length is only sixteen short lines, but those lines mean a great deal. This poem is about
being in control of your life and symbolically writing your life in pencil, so that nothing is ever
permanent. The pencil stands for the control you have over your life and the ability to write your own
existence. There were a few years of my life where I didn t make my own decisions and I wasn t ...

I often felt that I would never be in control because they almost completely broke me as a human
being. My spirit was crushed. The part that kept me going was graduation. Graduation day was one of
the happiest days of my life because despite everyone s criticism, I eventually achieved something I
wanted. I got to walk the stage with my friends and receive my diploma. When I shook the hand of the
Board of Education President, I felt freedom. I looked down at the people who terrorized me and I
smiled. Not only did I receive a diploma that day, but I received a pencil, the most freeing utensil I
ever held. Todd Boss says it best in his poem by saying, I ll bet it felt good in the hand the o of the
ocean, and the and and the and of the land (12 16). Boss is saying that when we write our lives and
worlds out in pencil, we are free to explore vast areas and open ranges of ideas. It feels good to be in
control of my life once again. I carry my pencil with pride and choose my own destiny, just as Boss
would want me

The Conversions Of Augustine s Confessions
c Throughout Confessions, Augustine undergoes several conversions that lead to his final conversion.
Beginning when he was only a small child, Augustine experience his first conversion. Raised by a
Catholic mother and Pagan father, Augustine becomes attracted to searching for answers about God.
This conversion, which is a conversion of truth, continues to influence him throughout his second
conversion which takes place throughout his young adulthood. During this conversion, Augustine first
commits to the Christian beliefs intellectually and then shortly after, physically. Inevitably, the
answers and struggles that he experiences during his conversion of truth leads to his acceptance of the
Christian faith. After accepting this faith, Augustine undergoes a third conversion. This conversion is a
conversion of becoming a model of Christ. Augustine s book Confessions shows these conversions
and how they lead to his final conversion. Throughout Augustine s life, he experiences multiple
conversions with the earliest beginning when he was only a school aged boy. This conversion carries
over into his early adulthood and is a conversion of truth. During this time, Augustine becomes
attracted to the Christian beliefs and develops a curiosity for understanding who God is. Since
Augustine was born to a catholic mother, during his childhood he observed men praying and learnt to
do likewise. (Augustine, 11). Augustine practices this observance of prayer in his childhood and prays

According to the Merriam Webster Online Dictionary, the definition of vernacular is of, relating to, or

history, the evolution of vernacular is very important and a very unique part of the culture. The
African American vernacular has aided the development of a distinct culture in terms of what African
Americans were subjected to from the installation of slavery. The African American vernacular was

regions of the United States, but mainly in the South. Strange Fruit is commonly known as a song of
social change. As mentioned before, this poem helped to expose racism in the U.S. During this time,
many people were fighting for the civil rights of African American that had been stymied by
institutionalized racism. Jim Crow laws of the South are an example of institutionalized racism. Jim
Crow laws limited the civil rights of African American and deemed them second class citizens. Even
during the days of slavery, there were many efforts made that helped to expose the atrocities that
occurred against African Americans. This included photographs and written works such as books and
newspaper articles.
During the early 20th century, racism against African Americans was exposed via songs that called for
a change of societal practices and views. Southern trees bear a strange fruit, blood on the leaves and
blood at the root, black bodies swinging in the southern breeze... are some of the lyrics of the song
Strange Fruit. Here is fruit for the crows to pluck, for the rain to gather, for the wind to suck, for the

Do the Goals of the Policy Contribute to Greater Social Equality? By defining admission criteria,
NDCC 25.03.2 06 gives a place for society s most troubled youth a place to stay without placing them

these programs, which would leave the some youth without the help that they need. They may have to
enter the child welfare or juvenile delinquency system before their issues are addressed by a PRTF, as
then they would qualify for Medical Assistance through the government (B. Novotny, personal

just by being in those alternate systems. However, PRTF do offer a place for some youth to receive

Iago As A Domestic Tragedy In Shakespeare s Othello
Explore the significance of this extract in relation to the tragedy of the play as a whole. Remember to
include in your answer relevant analysis of Shakespeare s dramatic methods. [
Othello being a domestic tragedy is still considered to be as great as Shakespeare s other plays such as
Macbeth King Lear and Hamlet. Othello s hamartia is his natural inclination to loyalty and blind trust
which makes him easily manipulated and brings him to his dreadful end.
The conversation between Rodrigo, a man with a strong lust for Desdemona, and Iago shows Iago s
cold hearted and twisted character and the weakness of lust that Rodrigo has for Desdomona . His
intentions and where his true loyalty lies hold no value to him. He is instantly a threat when he tells
Rodrigo I am not what I am (pg 6, line 67). This means with Iago what you see is clearly not what you
get could show that Iago is a villain in the play. Although he claims his hatred for Othello is because
he did not get his well deserved position as a lieutenant or because he claims that he had slept with his
wife Amelia; Iago seems to just love to plot evil schemes for the sake of coursing mayhem and chaos
for no apparent reason. As Samuel Taylor Coleridge said Iago seems to engage in The motive hunting
of motiveless Malignity . This means that Iago basically just purely loves to do evil and is always
looking for a reason to plant sins and help them grow; Iago is pretty much the devil. Iago s claim of

recent Lithuanian immigrants to America. As well as a physical journey, this is a journey into a new

Some believe that Capitalism is the cause for much of the poverty in the nation today, but any
hardcore capitalist will tell you that capitalism inherited poverty, and far from being a cause of
poverty, it is the only solution. nbsp; However, believers in socialism would completely disagree with
this ideal. Socialism is the economic system in which the workers, instead of a rich minority of
entrepreneurs, own all industry. Workers receive the full fruits of their labors instead of being given
miniscule compensation for backbreaking labor. Since the people are paid well for their work, work
becomes a cooperative entity where people come to rely on one another and people actually are more
inclined to do their fair share to help the advancement of society as a whole. nbsp; In order to discuss
these issues as they are pertinent to this story, a general summary of the story must first be given. The

This business model has helped the company identify its target market and market segmentation.
Operating as a low cost carrier means the company is seeking to serve cost and value conscious
consumers, small business executives, and customers who are traveling short distances and prefer a
low cost fare. This is the first segment of its target market. The second segment includes families who
are value conscious, and senior citizens. Demographic Segmentation The target demographic for
Southwest is very broad. The fact the airline has a brand that appeals to price conscious travelers who
do not mind the airline s no frills philosophy means it attracts lots of small business owners, young
adults, middle class families, and those who are traveling a short distance. Southwest operates a
simplified airline to keep costs down. It only operates one type of aircraft, and its no frills plan
includes no assigned seats or class seating, no meals, and no onboard movies. The company has a
strong emphasis on customer service and a differentiation strategy to keep customers happy and loyal.

Stylistic
The image of the Virgin of Guadalupe, whether one considers only the core image or the image with
the additions, certainly belongs to a style of artistic depiction of the Virgin Mary called the
Immaculate Conception, a style that became quite popular in Europe, including Spain, during the late
Middle Ages and Renaissance, growing in relationship to the development of theological speculation
about Mary s own conception. In the image of Guadalupe, by a mandorla of the sun and standing on

A Myriad Of Battles Make Up War Essay
A myriad of battles make up war. Physical force is used to make an opponent inept to further
confrontation. War is thus an art of force to compel our enemy to do our will. In human history, the
20th century was the bloodiest, priciest century of warfare. Since 1914, there have been two world
wars, and several major revolutions such as the Russia Civil War, the Vietnam War, and the Gulf War
among others. According to Clausewitz, war is an inherent subset of politics where every military act
has political consequences. Politics is about power, and war is a violent expression of disagreements
and tensions arising among political groups. He argues that the intrinsic feature of war demonstrates a
clear relationship between war and politics. Time and again, the overpowered state regards the result
purely as a temporary evil for which a resolve may still be found in political situations. Whereas, it is
expected that militarily powerful states would win war against their weak adversaries, they have
sometimes failed in achieving their desired political outcomes. This essay endeavors to look into some
contributing factors to these failures and point out what strategies should do to increase their
likelihood of success.
First, poor choice of strategy and ill preparedness will affect war outcome. Heavily militarized states
lose war when they apply wrong strategy as opposed to their adversary. For example during the post

Looking After Baby in Home-based Care
Home based care is where the baby is looked after in a home environment, whether it s a child
minders home or their own home. The welfare and safety of the baby must be of most importance, the
practitioner must ensure all the toys and play equipment are suitable for the baby depending on their
age and ability and that all the toys are safe with no choking hazards. Maintaining professional
relationships with the parents and the baby is essential as without a good bond with the child they
wont feel safe with the practitioner, the relationship with the parents is important to ensure that

Care routines also help the practitioner to know what has been done and what needs doing next. In
most early year s settings, babies are assigned to a key worker, a key worker forms good relationships
with the baby and their parents and are responsible for getting to know the child personally and
knowing their abilities, needs and preferences and then each key worker creates individual learning
plans for each baby. Key workers must observe the baby regularly and record information about the
baby to plan appropriate activities to push them to the next level of development. Key workers are
also important when communicating and sharing information with parents and carers, and when
necessary, other professionals. This is important as the key worker will know the child better than
others within the setting and will be aware of all development areas and issues that may affect the
baby s development or behaviour. Key workers should be able to gain the trust of the baby and the
parents so that they can come to the key worker with any problems, if the baby trusts the key worker
they will have a positive relationships and the baby will be settled and comfortable around them. If the
baby is comfortable in the setting and trusts the key worker and other practitioners he will be
confident and will try new things in order to develop further. Care routines include day to day tasks

America Stands At A Crossroads
America stands at a crossroads. The Fascists in Europe and the Imperialists in Japan threaten the very
foundation of our nation. Our troops fight valiantly to beat back these enemies who seek to encroach
upon our values of freedom and equality. Yet, in the background, a domestic war wages on. Of course,
I refer to the plight of Negro Americans against Jim Crow. Our political leaders constantly request the
patience of Negro promising change is right around the corner. However, many have come to
understand the emptiness of these words. If change will not come from the top then it must come from
the people, and it begins with the integration of baseball. Why baseball? you may ask. It is because
baseball is the quintessential mark of being an American. European immigrants, who are often
different from native born Americans in terms of language and religion, have been able to integrate
into American life simply by playing or being fans of the sport. The connections formed on the field
and in the stands have given native born Americans and immigrants an opportunity to connect, to
understand, and to respect one another. This pattern of understanding and respect coming through
association has been seen elsewhere as well. I remember how Negroes and Whites worked alongside
one another in New York during the Great War. It was undoubtedly a rough transition, yet because of
firm management, very few problems arose as I recall, not a single hate strike occurred during that
time.

Love Of Adam And Eve
Adam and Eve were more than just a story about Gods first creations, they were a love story. Healthy,
resilient, and loving relationships are something that all humans crave by nature. Adam and Eve are
perfect examples of this type of love. Jeffery Brown explains in his article What we can learn about
love from Adam and Eve , the importance of the relationship between the two (2017). One thing that
can be learned from the story of Adam and Eve about love is that it is normal not to want to be alone.
In the Genesis God said, it is not good for man to be alone , this is when he decided to create Eve to be
Adams companion. Being alone or isolated is one of the biggest contributors of unhappiness because
humans crave to relate to other people. When two people are joined together in a healthy loving
relationship centered around God, they will enjoy happiness together.
From Adam and Eve, we also learn that love will be challenging. Although Adam and Eve
experienced challenges they did not let that stop them from loving one another. Adam and Eve
disobeyed God and were kicked out of the garden, but they continued to love each other. This shows
people to be resilient and even in hard times there can still be love. Lastly Adam and Eve teach that
relationships should be balanced and have equality. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Five States of Chronic Kidney Disease
Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a long term condition characterized by presence of kidney damage

periods (Levey, Bosch, Lewis, 1999). Kidney disease always being neglected as it was asymptomatic

Desmond Doss Is A Hero
What makes a human being a hero? What defines men and women from being a hero or just another
person? Nobody really knows the answer to these questions. But I have concluded that the modern day
hero that I have chosen is a brave man that put others lives before his own and to me that defines a
hero. Desmond Doss was a United States Army corporal who served as a combat medic with infantry
company in World War Two. After our allies pulled off hacksaw ridge he stayed and continued to
retrieve bodies and bring the injured to safety. He saved 75 men in total in just this one battle. For
actions like this he was twice awarded the Bronze Star Medal, and awarded the Medal of Honor.
Desmond Doss enlisted into the United States Army in April 1942, but refused to kill or even carry a
weapon because of his religious beliefs as a Seventh Day Adventist. This choice to go into combat
without a weapon proved to be a difficult belief for his fellow soldiers to comprehend. He was treated
badly and even threatened by a man in his barracks that warned him, Doss, as soon as we get into
combat, I ll make sure you won t come back alive. His commanding officer also wanted to get rid of
Doss as he say him as a liability. Nobody thought a solder with no weapon would be worth anything in
battle. He soon proved his disbelievers wrong. Things started to turn around for Doss as the men that
gave him a hard time realized that he would help them no matter the conditions. The men realized

Compare And Contrast New England And Chesapeake Colonies
New England and the Chesapeake Regions After the discovery of the New World, countries raced to
expand their empires into the Western Hemisphere. Two countries that were dominating the Americas
were Spain and Portugal. These countries were gaining much wealth and power from the New World,
and it resulted in an economic boom in both empires. This encouraged other countries, like France
and, especially, Britain to join in the competition. Britain joined the quest for land in the New World
because they sought to expand their empire, and compete with the growing powers of Spain and
Portugal. Britain quickly took the lead in the Western Hemisphere by conquering land from Natives
along the eastern coast of North America. Soon, Britain was developing colonies all over the East
Coast. Two regions in particular that Britain was controlling was the New England and Chesapeake

more men, New England was founded because of religious reasons, while in the Chesapeake, they
first were searching for gold. Although they had differences, both New England and Chesapeake
colonies had conflict with the Natives, and they both had internal struggles between the poor and the
rich. Demographics in the New England and Chesapeake regions differed greatly, while New England

American Horror Story Evaluation
When it comes to a show I always look for something lighthearted. In my opinion the best shows are
the ones that are funny, a bit relatable, have great character development, and overall just uplift your

Friends and The Office, but lately I have yet to find a show that fits my normal preferences. I have

it also goes much deeper and appeases all kinds of audiances. The American Horror Story wasn t

Invasive Species ThreatensThe Ecosystem Invasive Species Threatens the Ecosystem Every life form all over the world depends on the ecosystem for its survival. However, the ecosystem can be threatened when there is an excess or drop in resources. Many people will argue that human beings are the primary cause of this economic imbalance but are people the root of this problem? No. There is evidence that invasive species all over the country has also threatened our ecosystem. Invasive species are any living organism such a plants, fungus, insects, and fish just to name a few. Invasive species pose a threat to wildlife in many ways. Local untamed life has no advanced safeguards against the trespasser, and they stand no chance against species that has no predators (p.2). Furthermore, these species invade areas that they aren t indigenous to and reproduce quickly. To further understand the underlying crux of invasive species and how this matter may come to fruition, I will provide an analogy of an article that addresses this problem, by summarizing and identifying the negative impact invasive species have on the ecosystem. Boss s PoemThe World Is In Pencil Rachel Wisner Prof. Nyland ENGL 102 75A December 8, 2014 Three Years of Permanent Ink I struggle with opening up my emotions when reading a story or poem. I stay bottled up because if I feel something for it, it just makes me think of a time when I felt worthless. The poem The World Is in Pencil, by Todd Boss opened me up and allowed me to feel vulnerable. Its length is only sixteen short lines, but those lines mean a great deal. This poem is about being in control of your life and symbolically writing your life in pencil, so that nothing is ever permanent. The pencil stands for the control you have over your life and the ability to write your own existence. There were a few years of my life where I didn t make my own decisions and I wasn t ... Not only did I receive a diploma that day, but I received a pencil, the most freeing utensil I ever held. Todd Boss says it best in his poem by saying, I ll bet it felt good in the hand the o of the ocean, and the and and the and of the land (12 16). Iago As ADomestic Tragedy In Shakespeare s Othello Explore the significance of this extract in relation to the tragedy of the play as a whole. Remember to include in your answer relevant analysis of Shakespeare s dramatic methods. [ Othello being a domestic tragedy is still considered to be as great as Shakespeare s other plays such as Macbeth King Lear and Hamlet. Othello s hamartia is his natural inclination to loyalty and blind trust which makes him easily manipulated and brings him to his dreadful end. The conversation between Rodrigo, a man with a strong lust for Desdemona, and Iago shows Iago s cold hearted and twisted character and the weakness of lust that Rodrigo has for Desdomona . His intentions and where his true loyalty lies hold no value to him. He is instantly a threat when he tells Rodrigo I am not what I am (pg 6, line 67). This means with Iago what you see is clearly not what you get could show that Iago is a villain in the play. Although he claims his hatred for Othello is because he did not get his well deserved position as a lieutenant or because he claims that he had slept with his wife Amelia; Iago seems to just love to plot evil schemes for the sake of coursing mayhem and chaos for no apparent reason. As Samuel Taylor Coleridge said Iago seems to engage in The motive hunting of motiveless Malignity . This means that Iago basically just purely loves to do evil and is always looking for a reason to plant sins and help them grow; Iago is pretty much the devil. Iago s claim of being ... Socialism is the economic system in which the workers, instead of a rich minority of entrepreneurs, own all industry. Workers receive the full fruits of their labors instead of being given miniscule compensation for backbreaking labor. A Myriad OfBattles Make Up War Essay A myriad of battles make up war. Physical force is used to make an opponent inept to further confrontation. War is thus an art of force to compel our enemy to do our will. In human history, the 20th century was the bloodiest, priciest century of warfare. Since 1914, there have been two world wars, and several major revolutions such as the Russia Civil War, the Vietnam War, and the Gulf War among others. According to Clausewitz, war is an inherent subset of politics where every military act has political consequences. Politics is about power, and war is a violent expression of disagreements and tensions arising among political groups. He argues that the intrinsic feature of war demonstrates a clear relationship between war and politics. Time and again, the overpowered state regards the result purely as a temporary evil for which a resolve may still be found in political situations. Whereas, it is expected that militarily powerful states would win war against their weak adversaries, they have sometimes failed in achieving their desired political outcomes. This essay endeavors to look into some contributing factors to these failures and point out what strategies should do to increase their likelihood of success. First, poor choice of strategy and ill preparedness will affect war outcome. Heavily militarized states lose war when they apply wrong strategy as opposed to their adversary. America Stands AtA Crossroads America stands at a crossroads. The Fascists in Europe and the Imperialists in Japan threaten the very foundation of our nation. Our troops fight valiantly to beat back these enemies who seek to encroach upon our values of freedom and equality. Yet, in the background, a domestic war wages on. Of course, I refer to the plight of Negro Americans against Jim Crow. Our political leaders constantly request the patience of Negro promising change is right around the corner. However, many have come to understand the emptiness of these words. If change will not come from the top then it must come from the people, and it begins with the integration of baseball. Why baseball? you may ask. It is because baseball is the quintessential mark of being an American. European immigrants, who are often different from native born Americans in terms of language and religion, have been able to integrate into American life simply by playing or being fans of the sport. The connections formed on the field and in the stands have given native born Americans and immigrants an opportunity to connect, to understand, and to respect one another. This pattern of understanding and respect coming through association has been seen elsewhere as well. I remember how Negroes and Whites worked alongside one another in New York during the Great War. It was undoubtedly a rough transition, yet because of firm management, very few problems arose as I recall, not a single hate strike occurred during that time. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, though Winston realised the need for change the survival anxiety did not create an urgency to change as evidenced by his lack of effort, to buy in and build confidence within the Boston Business Unit. Further, though Winston s direct report Callahan is supportive of his change strategy he lacks belief in the intervention itself. Aptly, pointed out by Callahan that forcing generalists to take on specialist roles created uncertainty and disruption to the point that customers were divided on the benefits of the new structure. Generalists whose earnings earlier depended largely on sales commissions were now concerned over the loss of revenue and loss of importance and power within the firm. Moreover, employees like John Oates considered the change a threat to their job security and future career prospects. As experienced by Callahan the new structure was gradually impacting existing customer networks that were person driven, a loss that could prove detrimental in the current and future business environment. Hence, the forces restraining the change were the change agent Winston himself, Callahan and the Generalists. The six box model is influenced by two underlying principles employee goal clarity and goal agreement, reflected in: (1) Strategy: C B is among the top five ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Love Of AdamAnd Eve Adam and Eve were more than just a story about Gods first creations, they were a love story. Healthy, resilient, and loving relationships are something that all humans crave by nature. Adam and Eve are perfect examples of this type of love. Jeffery Brown explains in his article What we can learn about love from Adam and Eve , the importance of the relationship between the two (2017). One thing that can be learned from the story of Adam and Eve about love is that it is normal not to want to be alone. In the Genesis God said, it is not good for man to be alone , this is when he decided to create Eve to be Adams companion. Being alone or isolated is one of the biggest contributors of unhappiness because humans crave to relate to other people. When two people are joined together in a healthy loving relationship centered around God, they will enjoy happiness together. From Adam and Eve, we also learn that love will be challenging. Although Adam and Eve experienced challenges they did not let that stop them from loving one another. Adam and Eve disobeyed God and were kicked out of the garden, but they continued to love each other. This shows people to be resilient and even in hard times there can still be love. Lastly Adam and Eve teach that relationships should be balanced and have equality. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... God made Eve from taking a rib out of Adam to create a woman. God decided not to create women from the dust like he did the other creatures instead, he made her from man. The reason God did this is to show that man and women are two equal halves of a whole. God also created women from men to show that they are the same being. Females were not created as second to man or separate but instead made from the initial parts as a helper. Helper Is not meant to be a servant or of less value but as a companion. The help of a woman to a man Is seen as powerful in the bible as women were created as a complement to ... The Five Statesof Chronic Kidney Disease Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is a long term condition characterized by presence of kidney damage or a decrease of glomerular filtration rate (GFR) less than 60ml/min/1.73m2 for 3 months or longer periods (Levey, Bosch, Lewis, 1999). Kidney disease always being neglected as it was asymptomatic in the early stage. Chronic kidney disease was divided into 5 stages and according to its severity. The staging system is based on the estimated GFR and remaining kidney function. In each stages of chronic kidney disease, there is certain medical action and investigation need to be carry out to monitor the progression of disease. Medical practitioners can use this as basis guidelines to monitor the deterioration of kidney disease. Patient will increase severity of uremic and suffer from clinical manifestations of azotemia when GFR drop to less than 25% of normal (Schrier, 2010). When GFR drop to less than 15ml Stage 5 CKD patient need to be undergo renal replacement therapy, either dialysis or renal transplant in order to avoid complication such as uremic and fluid overload. Desmond Doss IsA Hero What makes a human being a hero? What defines men and women from being a hero or just another person? Nobody really knows the answer to these questions. But I have concluded that the modern day hero that I have chosen is a brave man that put others lives before his own and to me that defines a hero. Desmond Doss was a United States Army corporal who served as a combat medic with infantry company in World War Two. After our allies pulled off hacksaw ridge he stayed and continued to retrieve bodies and bring the injured to safety. He saved 75 men in total in just this one battle. For actions like this he was twice awarded the Bronze Star Medal, and awarded the Medal of Honor. Desmond Doss enlisted into the United States Army in April 1942, but refused to kill or even carry a weapon because of his religious beliefs as a Seventh Day Adventist. This choice to go into combat without a weapon proved to be a difficult belief for his fellow soldiers to comprehend. He was treated badly and even threatened by a man in his barracks that warned him, Doss, as soon as we get into combat, I ll make sure you won t come back alive. His commanding officer also wanted to get rid of Doss as he say him as a liability. Nobody thought a solder with no weapon would be worth anything in battle. He soon proved his disbelievers wrong. Things started to turn around for Doss as the men that gave him a hard time realized that he would help them no matter the conditions. The men realized Doss had a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

American Horror StoryEvaluation American Horror Story Evaluation When it comes to a show I always look for something lighthearted. In my opinion the best shows are the ones that are funny, a bit relatable, have great character development, and overall just uplift your spirits. Shows like this are hard to come by; there are some old ones that I ve come to enjoy such as Friends and The Office, but lately I have yet to find a show that fits my normal preferences. I have spent months watching Friends over and over again, but that gets boring after a while, so I decided to step out of my comfort zone and find a show I wouldn t usually watch. I decided to try American Horror Story completely aware that it doesn t fit into what I normally look for. To my surprise, I really enjoyed the show. It s has some scary moments, but nothing too horrifying. The setting, mood, music, characters, and general atmosphere of the show is meant to give a spooky vibe and does just that, but it also goes much deeper and appeases all kinds of audiances. The American Horror Story wasn t created to be funny, and while it has its moments, for the most part it s not. However, it is very engaging. It draws you in with the characters and their development. It s oddly relatable. Rape, miscarriage, suicide, homicide, drugs, and all kinds of other issues are talked about ... It has some scenes that could make people uncomfortable such as rape or homicide; it is not for the faint of heart. Just know what you are sensitive to before going into it. But if you can get past those things, it is a really great show. It is very intriguing and has a complex plot. The characters become like a family to you. As someone who is very picky about what she watches, I am completely in love with this show. I will continue to watch it as long as it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
