The reasons why American people do not vote Essay
The reasons why many Americans do not vote
America is a free country, and voting is an important part of that freedom. Unlike other countries
where dictators and monarchs make decisions on behalf of the people, Americans get the right to
decide who runs the country and what laws should govern citizens. But even though voting is an
important privilege, most Americans simply don t vote, and some of their reasons may surprise
you. Here are seven common reasons most Americans don t vote.
1.They think their vote won t count
Many Americans don t vote because they think their vote doesn t count. This is a common excuse
that s rooted in the belief that the Electoral College chooses the President, not the voters. In reality,
the popular vote in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If you don t voice your opinion by voting, you shouldn t have the right to voice your complaints
when things don t go the way you want them to.
5.Lines are too long
Voting lines can sometimes be long, and for busy people waiting in line is a horrible waste of
time and energy. But in reality, voting lines are seldom long, even for high profile presidential
races. With the advent of new technology, voting is becoming easier and more efficient than ever
before, and this allows voters to get in and out without having to wait in long lines. This excuse is
becoming less and less relevant as time goes on.
6.Don t like the candidates
Politicians are sometimes easy to dislike. Their flaws are often aired publicly for the entire
world to see, and many people generally distrust politicians based on this information. But even
if you don t particularly like any of the candidates, do you really know them? And should it
matter whether you like them or not? Perhaps a politician s stance on issues important to you is
more important than whether or not they are likeable. Even if it s choosing the lesser of two or
more evils in your eyes, voting is still an important way for you to voice your opinion about the
subjects you care about most.
5.Can t get to the polls
Getting to polling locations can be a hassle, especially for the disabled, the sick, and people without
transportation. In addition, voting becomes even more difficult for

America Land Of Opportunity Essay
The Great Land of America: Land Of Opportunity Many sought to migrate to America, a land
that was talked so highly of, full of opportunities for all to have. From the rich to the poor, to the
slaves and the free, most all was willing to do anything at their chance of happiness, riches, and
success. However, the time period of the 1600 s through 1774 would have many trails, errors,
and triumphs, and all would test the limits and the strengths of the newfound settlers, and would
prove these opportunities to be a long, difficult road to success. In the early 1600 s many walks
of life came to the America s, some in search of the riches that had been told of, and some just
searching for freedom of religion. Among some of these people were colonists who had
established their first permanent colony in Virginia, but low and behold many of these people
fell victim to dissension and disease (Norton,41). Life in America would not be as easy such an
easy task. Many of these people came with the intentions of relying on some of the local Indians
for help in the areas of food and tribute, but the Indians did not want to cooperate (Norton,41). The
Indians would prove to be another difficult task that would be encountered by most, as most of
them did not want to convert to the new ways and traditions of life, let alone conform to a new

Large numbers of people came over as slaves or indentured servants to work on the farms that
had been planted in hopes that for exchange they might acquire their own piece of land. A
majority of these people would either succumb to diseases or never lived long enough to reap the
benefits of their hard work. Some even worked under the task system, a system which allowed
slaves to work to build up their own supplies after they had completed a set amount of tasks that
was ordered to be done by their

Essay on Toni Morrison s Sula
The Character of Sula as a Rose nbsp; Authors developed the canon in order to set a standard of
literature that most people needed to have read or to have been familiar with. The works
included in the canon used words such as beautiful, lovely, fair, and innocent to describe women.
The canonical works also used conventional symbols to compare the women to flowers such as
the rose and the lily. Thomas Campion depicts the typical description of women in his poem,
There is a Garden in Her Face. He describes the women by stating, There is a garden in her face
/ Where roses and white lilies grow,/ A heavenly paradise is that place,/ Wherein all pleasant fruits
do flow (1044 5). The roses and lilies are used to portray beautiful, frail... Show more content on

Unlike all the other women in the story, Sula is tough and does not let others interfere with her.
She lives her life by her own rules and standards. The people in the town notice that except for a
funny shaped finger and that evil birthmark, she was free of any normal signs of vulnerability
(115). Again, the rose symbolized Sula s growth and carefree way of life. However, the stemmed
rose is more than just a mark that changes shades. First of all, the rose represents a part of the
whole that has been cut off from the original bush. Hence, Sula does not fit in with the people
from the Bottom, and she knows that she leads a different way of life. Sula explains that the
women of the Bottom will die like a stump, [while she will go down] like one of those redwoods
(143). Everyone of the Bottom is alike and united in their hatred and fear of Sula. Because Sula
is promiscuous and improper by the Bottom s standards, the women of the town believed they
were leading better lives because of they did not live like Sula. In reality, however, the women
were denying reality and used Sula to get over their guilt. Sula feels she is on a different level
entirely her own, and she never competed; she simply helped others to define themselves (95).
Society needs her in order to unite against her. Sula cuts herself from the bush of the Bottom
because she does not go along with the crowd, represented by the bush. Next, it is ironic that the

Impact Of The Job Design On Retail Banking
Introduction As a financial service provider, the banking industry employs an abundance of
standardized processes. In order to deliver a professional, accurate and fast service to customers,
as well as to maintain the motivation and performance of banking staff, it is critical to design a
smooth and friendly process for various types of service requests, or in other words, to allocate the
tasks to appropriate positions. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the impacts on performance
resulting from the job design in retail banking so as to demonstrate the ability of the author to apply
the operations managementconcept into real life. When companies plan to reengineer or redesign
the job, they could use the Job Characteristic Model (JCM), which was developed by Richard
Hackman and Greg Oldham. The basic idea of the model is that task itself can drive the motivation
and performance of employees (Saavedra Kwun, 2000, p. 132). There are five core job
characteristics, including skill variety, task identity, task significance, autonomy and feedback,
which influence psychological states of meaningfulness of job, responsibility for outcomes and
knowledge of the actual results (Slack, Brandon Jones Johnston, 2013, p. 264). Eventually, the
above mentioned psychological states will result in four aspects of personal outcomes, including
motivation, quality performance, satisfaction as well as absenteeism and turnover (Slack et al.,
2013, p. 264). However, the theory does not

Those lacking this safety mechanism can experience costly damage.
Age and wear of components in the air conditioner are the primary causes of failure. As they age,
rubber seals and hoses will deteriorate, eventually resulting in a refrigerant leak. Once a leak
occurs, moisture can enter the AC system, creating a corrosive acid which causes damage to the
components. Prompt repair can prevent damage from occurring. Contact Fifth Gear to schedule

The Conflict of Gene Patents
Patents are licenses granted by the government that give permission to an inventor the right to rent,
hire, or sell his invention. In the science community gene patents have created conflict between
those who believe that patents have helped science and those who believe it is actually hindering
science advances. Genes are important because they are the heredity of a living organismand it is
given from a parent to their offspring. Scientist study genes to find cures for the many diseases
found in the world. Unfortunately gene patents focus on the commercial side, therefore I believe
gene patents should be banned. In this essay, I will outline arguments for and against gene patents.
There have been many cases that have raised the public s awareness over gene patents. It was
recently brought to attention again in the case of Association for
Molecular Pathology v. Myriad Genetics (2013), when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that
companies cannot patent naturally occurring forms of DNA; they can only patent artificial
produced DNA. Naturally occurring genes are genes found on living organisms while artificial
genes are products of genetic material that occur when a gene has been isolated and they cannot be
found in an organism. There are many commercial uses of gene sequences for example in
agriculture a particular product such as rice contains genes once scientist isolates and clones them,
he can find uses for those genes, such as being able immune to particular

This paper deliberates the internal and external factors about the Google industry, and the ways it
affects the four functions of management. The internal factors include the company s strength and
weakness that displays their success or downfall. The internal factors reveal the company s strength
on how well it can meet their goals. The internal factors of an industry are factors of good or poor
planning because it exposes their ethics, diversity, globalization, and so forth. On the other hand,
the external factors may involve with their outside competition, social legal, technology changes,

Google must plan accordingly to be successful in the search engine market. Organizing can be very
challenging to new companies. Google has grown and would not function correctly without
organization. Google will strive to make improvements wherever it can but will not change things
working effortlessly. Once organized, managers should direct employees on the goals of the
company. Managers should oversee the staff to ensure procedures and processes are adhered to and
to look for those directives not working. Controlling is the last function of management. Controlling
involves establishing performance standards and evaluates employees. A manager should not
reduce the standards to solve an individual performance problem. Technology can affect this
function and should be used to help the process. Managers may have the employees conduct their
evaluation within the company intranet. This reduces the workload and is good for the environment.
Furthermore, Google is a company that highlights and is proud of its diversity both internally and
externally from creating groups for employees to celebrate their differences to honoring cultural
and historical events on its homepage. This company s success depends on its teams of employees
and has launched different programs such as black googler group, women Google groups and
LGBT googlers to highlight and learn from everyone s differences. Google emphases that everyone

Stereotypes Of Teenage Girls
Introduction
We may not think or believe it ourselves, but the media is constantly ruling a huge part of our
lives and how we socially interact with others. Over many years it has created many stereotypes
and it shows quite a false representation of teenage girls. But firstly what in fact is representation?
Or stereotypes?
Representation
Representation is the process by which the media present us to the real world and how they re
present something back to us. For a huge number of us the media is a main source for us to
understand the world around us.
Stereotypes
A stereotype can be what we call an inaccurate ideology. It is targeted at a specific group or
individual such as teenage girls. An ideology is the beliefs, ideas and values that are emboldened
by the media.
For example we believe we think that we know what the ambitions are for most teen girls;
popularity, partying, pretty and BOYS!!! But actually this is only what the media s representation
of teen girls that has caused this ideological stereotype of girls and their relational ambitions.
Stereotypes that the media has produced has shaped society as we know it. We are constantly
surrounded by television social media advertisements and all things media attempt to capture our
attention. When we look at stereotypes in the media we get what we call a positive negative win.
This is when the media text that we are looking at provides either a positive or negative outlook
and provides either a positive or

Paul The Apostle Of The Church
Paul the apostle is known for his letters in the Bible to the church in Philippi. Paul devotes his
faith in Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, to promote Christianity to the people of the Philippians.
He is seen throughout the New Testament furthering God s Word and projecting it in such a way to
get fellow Jewish people to convert to Christianity. In the midst of this activity, Paul was travelling
in between cities when a mob broke out against him. Israelites were furious with him spreading the
Word of JesusChrist throughout their land. The Israelites began to beat him repeatedly until the
word reached the commander of the Roman soldiers. The roman soldiers immediately came to
Paul and put him under arrest for a total of seven days before freeing him. Paul was charged with
speaking out against the law of the land, promoting Jesus Christ among the Jewish people and
disturbing the peace among the city.
During his stay in Roman Prison, Paul wrote the letters to the church in Philippi. He stated his
concerns with the law of the land and the way religion was reflected in society. These letters are
the earliest surviving documents the world has because they predict the earliest Gospel. This
Gospel is marl. Paul s letters combine with other books to form the Bible. Of the twenty seven
books in the New Testament, fourteen of the, include the missionary and journey of Paul through
the biblical world. He promoted Jesus through all of his actions and making sure to glorify God the

Unnatural Consequences Of Natural Disasters
Unnatural Consequences of Natural Disasters The Fukushima disaster was a very heavily
reported in the news in the year 2011, but people s fears quickly died down on the issue as people
went about their daily lives. But should the issue have just disappeared from the public eye? It is
my belief is that the disaster has still not been adequately dealt with, and is a major issue now more
than ever, that the still prevalent after effects of the disaster should be common knowledge, and that
better solutions should be found to deal with the nuclear radiation. In the year 2011, tectonic plate
movement approximately 70 kilometers off the coast of the Oshika Peninsula in Japan caused an
earthquake with a 9.0 magnitude on the moment magnitude scale. The earthquake was the most
powerful one to have ever hit the coast of Japan, and the fourth most powerful earthquake ever
recorded. The earthquake itself lasted about six minutes, and damage from the earthquake itself was
not substantial, due to being active far from the coast. However, the earthquake triggered a
powerful tsunami which was capable of travelling approximately ten kilometers inland, destroying
numerous homes and buildings, and killing thousands. As of the year 2014, the Japanese National
Police Agency reports that the tsunami itself was responsible for 15,889 deaths and 6,152 injuries,
as well as 1,148,067 buildings either damaged or destroyed (Damage Situation and Police

A Cat Is Not a Can of Soup
A Cat Is Not a Can of Soup
Have you been thinking of getting a pet? Wait a minute before you rush down to a pet shop.
Adopting a pet from the Ferndale Shelter is often a wiser move than buying one. However, many
families hesitate to visit the shelter because they aren t aware of its advantages or have mistaken
ideas about what they will find there.
To begin with, you may believe that you re more likely to find a healthy, well adjusted dogor cat at
a pet shop. From what I have seen here in town, not all pet shops are the same. Some good shops
are run by animal lovers who try to give good care to the creatures they sell, although they lack time

The volunteers care is good, but it can t make up for the full attention of one owner. Animals, like
people, need familiar surroundings and daily routines to feel comfortable. Even the shelter doesn t
provide a consistent home. When the shelter gets too crowded, some of the confused animals have
to be sent to temporary foster homes.
To me, the very best reason for adopting a pet is that you get back tremendous loyalty and love
from your rescued pet. I happen to think that animals from shelters appreciate good homes even
more than pet shop animals do, making them more faithful and affectionate.
Whether you agree that these animals are more faithful and affectionate or not, I think that you
really can t argue with at least visiting the Ferndale Shelter. You won t be wasting your time, and
you just might find the perfect pet for your family.

Edward Richer Essay
Gerhard Richer (1932~) is a German artist who is unique for not conforming to a particular
movement or having his own artistic style. However, his works have been influenced by many art
movements and styles, including Abstract Expressionism, Pop art, Minimalism, and
Conceptualism. He was trained to paint a traditional realist art style in early years under the
oppressive East German communist regime, banned from exposure to American Pop art and other
contemporary art (1). Thus he often explored figurative expression or representation of subjects,
until his exposure to abstract art in West Germany introduced him to an approach to art that was
much more expressive of life and its realities (1). He first started drawing landscapes in the late...

There are a couple of elements that set his painting apart from Friedrich s; that it has a surrealist
element, and that Richter values the characteristics of modern art, meaning that the artwork
does not focus on how to most imitate a subject most faithfully ( realistically ) but to capture the
essence of it. The surrealist element in particular is significant when placed side by side with
the traditional style of landscape painting, because his choice not to completely disassociate it
with the orthodox is what allows it to emphasize the surreality of the piece (4). It is also set apart
from romantic paintings by nature s indifference . The artwork has a lack of sympathy for the
viewer s search for something to relate or connect to in the painting which links to its function and

On one hand, we see how his background of being trained to paint in a traditionalist realistic
painting style has influenced his photorealistic style, but on the other, his desire to move into a

MWO Position Paper
BackgroundThe Vice Chief of Staff of the Army approved the position for the 882A Mobility
Warrant Officer (MWO) in July 1997. His original vision for the MWO was to embed them in
the 10 active Divisions and the two interim brigade combat teams (IBCTs) at that time. Their
initial success in these roles and increased world deployments led to a demand for these
deployment experts at every level of command. MWOs where soon assigned to the 10 divisions,
2 SBCTs, 8 transportation movement control battalions (MCB), and 2 transportation groups
(Lieutenant Colonel Peter B. Everitt, 2016). According to a recent report pulled from FMS Web,
there are currently 173 authorized MWO positions in the US Army. (USAFMSA, 2016) These
assignments range from the Movement Control Battalion (MCB) level to the regional and
strategic command levels. BCT modularity and increased deployments over the past 15 years has
validated the need for mobility experts at every level of command. MWOs today typically start
their career in Brigade Combat Teams (BCTs). The MWOs... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Rise Of Rome s Decline Of 378 Ad ( Wilkes, 1992 )
After Rome s decline in 378 AD (Wilkes, 1992:265), parts of the amphitheater were restructured
and used as chapels. The main sanctuary was built into the alcove, which originally housed the
pulvinar (elevated imperial box) and vomitorium. Byzantine mosaics and frescos indicate that
these chapels were created during the fifth century AD (Figure 4; Bowes and Mitchell, 2009:574
575; Isufi, 2006:11; Jacques, 1995:154; Karaiskaj, 2004:13; UNESCO, 2004:35 37). A second
chapel and possible third were built on the north side of the stadium (Bowes and Mitchell,
2009:574; Bowes et al., 2003:392). Sometime during the seventh century, the arena began to be

The Procurement Structure Of An Organization Essay
The Procurement Structure Figure 1 Organization Flow Chart The delivery method chosen here
is the Construction Manager at Risk. The explanation for selection of this method is given
below: A strict time frame: The time frame alloted is an overall period of 2 years in which only
14 months is alloted for the construction processes. So CM at risk would be a better option since
a construction manager can be appointed early on in the design phase and he can work closely
with the client s professional team and even offer advice on the project. A stringent Budget: The
budget given is a very strict one of $60 million. A proposal of using a GMP contract would be
beneficial to the client as the client can t allow more that the alloted $60 million. Flexibility: This
method offers good flexibility to the client throughout the project. He can make changes and look
for feasibility to make the changes with the Construction manager added in the team. Complexity
The project taken under consideration is considerably complex enough and of higher value and
might very well require sophosticated management techniques and hence this delivery method
seems to be a viable option. Love, Skitmore, Earl (1998) put forth the results obtained from
consultants in the form of a table which help us in the selection of a procurement method according
to the priorities of the client. Table 1 below shows the same. Table 1 Mean Utility factors of criteria

Students Language Attitude towards Classroom Code Switching in the Institute of Teacher
Education
Chapter 01
The Problem and Its Background
Language as a medium of teaching is one of the common factors in the teaching learning processes.
In terms of instructions, some learners fail to do such tasks due to misconception or
misunderstanding. Oftentimes, they were also inattentive in class interactions due to the teacher s
use or choice of words whenever he/she is explaining. In today s 21st century education, it is a fact
that seventy percent of class performance is given to the students while the remaining thirty percent
is allotted to the teacher as entitled to be the facilitator. Throughout the instruction, classroom

Comparison Of The Dictatorship Of Big Brother And The...
The dictatorship of Big Brother and the American government, both use similar ways to monitor
their citizens, but they have different reasons for it. Big Brother wants to closely monitor his
citizens so they are obedient by fear and the American government watches their citizens to protect
them and their rights. They do this through televisions, spies and surveillancecameras. In the
beginning of the novel 1984, the reader is introduced to how the governmentunder the dictatorship
of Big Brother is administrated as well as how it runs its citizens. Not only are the people of
Oceania suppressed, but they are also audited through whatever means deemed necessary by the
government. They are even watched through their televisions. Because of this the main character,
Winston Smith, placed his television on a wall in his house so Winston was able to remain outside
the range of the telescreen, so far as sight went. This is where Winston writes his qualms with the
government down in a diary. Furthermore, the CIA, has been said to have the capacity to break
into our everyday consumer electronics.... The USA Today article goes into further detail by
stating that, CIA hackers could break into iPhones, Android phones, PCs running Microsoft
Windows and Samsung smart TVs, and exploit the microphones inside such electronics, (TVs are
allegedly spying on you, Baig). It has been argued that this is a violation of privacy, but others state
that it is merely for protection. In addition

Ww1 Week 1 Newspaper Analysis
The focus of the workshop was newspapers and their content such as reports and editorials. We
identified the editorial line of a newspaper and looked at how the editorial is a letter written by
the editor and how it can demonstrate different opinions. We looked at letters to the editor and
how they were used as primary sources. We discovered as they are written by readers discussing
issues, they help provide a useful insight on people s concerns. We debated the benefits of
newspapers such as that they give us a snapshot of peoples perceptions at the time. Limitation of
using newspapers are that they are biased and generally contain propaganda.
Historians have different views on newspapers. Andrew Hobbs argues that the provincial

The questions addressed were to identify the editorials in each newspaper and outline their stances
towards the conflict. The Times newspaper s editorial argued that there remained little stock of
food however the food prices were still low. They were not overly concerned since if the
shipments with America and Australia could be maintained therefore England would not be too
low on food, and canned food could be a reserve. They commented on how coal prices were on
the rise as a result of the war. The Manchester Guardian s editorial stated they were shocked by
the war and people were worried since there was no treaty obligation to become involved in
European wars. The editorials gave a clear image certain domestic views; however the issues
raised are of people s concerns, not the wider picture, this could lead to it not being reliable
because it is biased and excluded certain points. Editorials show the opinion of the editor and it
presents a snapshot of public moral. We could use editorials as a way of case studying public
response building up to the war. The letters to the editor in the Times show that they feel that
England s problems would be Ireland s opportunity and that people are protesting regarding the
war. The methodology we used was qualitative as we looked at people s ideas towards the First
World War. We used comparative methodology as we compared two newspapers and the people s
views in each newspaper. We found that the strengths of newspapers were that it provides an
insight to opinions at the time; they are often clearly written and may indicate the political position
of the author. However, the limitations are that it may not be balanced and occasionally
newspapers contain propaganda to force people to believe certain

Affirmative Action Essays
The affirmative action program is important because it gives job opportunities for many people
regardless of their race, color, religion, gender, and national origin. The work force should be well
represented by the different ethnic backgrounds of our society. Some people look at affirmative
action as reverse discrimination, but this program doesn t guarantee employment based on race,
ethnicity, or gender. The affirmative actionprogram gives equal consideration to individuals from a
different race, ethnicity, or gender, but not one of these factors may be the only factor used to
determine an individual s qualifications for any job.
The biggest dispute of the program is the belief that the policy allows less qualified candidates to ...

The truth of the matter is that many people climb the corporate ladder because they are associated
with the right people whom are making executive decisions that make a difference. The
government intends to provide equal opportunity based upon the individual s merit. Affirmative
action provides qualified individuals with a variety of job opportunities; this program could be
viewed as another avenue to excel in a career or towards a higher education.
In many occurrences, minorities have been discriminated because it has been the custom not to
hire them. Many city police and fire departments traditionally did not hire blacks; many craft
unions did not accept black members. Many big companies did not hire blacks for higher positions;
instead, blacks were hired as kitchen assistants and janitors. When these kinds of patterns are
evident, affirmative action and quotas may be valid tools to respond with.
Cannon 3
The use of affirmative action and quotas was demonstrated in 1983 in hearings held by
Representative Don Edwards (D Cal.) and Patricia Schroeder (D Colo.). Alabama has seen dramatic
changes in black employment in public agencies over the past decade. Judge Frank Johnson of
Montgomery, Alabama contributed to these changes.
Johnson established a quota on temporary hires. The quota was at 25 percent and the quota was

Legion of Cyber Crime
Black hat, grey hay, white hat, all terms to identify different classes or cyber criminals, all tied
together under the label of hacker. Whether it is for the greater good or for pure evil, cyber
security seems to be breached every day as the media puts out headlines of major retailers,
governments, and social media sites being broken into for personal information, mockery, or even
to instigate real physical war. The recent surge of technological advances has brought attention to a
deadly force once overlooked by all, the hackers. These individuals commit cyber crimes because
they can retain anonymity, it is easier and less dangerous than a physical crime, and it makes it easy
to draw attention on whatever it is they are attacking, which is why we as a society need to be
educated on their motives and means of attack to protect us from their criminal actions. Criminals
seem to be evolving at a quicker rate than technology, learning lessons from past criminals being
caught and/or killed and adapting to the changing smart society.
Millennials always hear from their parents to be wary of what they post online because it stays
there forever, but the hackers of today laugh at that and are virtually invisible in any crimes they
choose to commit. They are able to keep their anonymity through data encryption, computer
zombification, and deep web browsers. Data encryption is one basic tool used by

Creationism in Public Schools Essay
Creationism in Public Schools Teaching Creationism in Schools The question as to whether or not
creationism should be taught in public schools is a very emotional and complex question. It can be
looked at from several different angles, its validity being one of them. Despite the lack of evidence
to support the fundamentalist idea of creationism, that in itself is not enough to warrant its exclusion
from the curriculum of public schools in the United States. The question is far more involved and
complex.
One way to address the question is whether or not creationism, in itself, is a valid idea to be taught
in public schools. The answer to this can be yes. Not only should a student in American public
schools learn ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The problem in scientific creationism, and what I see as a reason for its exclusion from the
science classroom in public schools, is the fact that it looks as if, from the outside, the whole
theory that it rest on is simply a contortion of the traditional version of creation described in
Genesis, custom made to fit in with Darwin s theory of evolution. R. M. Hare would probably say
that scientific creationism is simply a modification of the story of creation in Genesis, to fit into
the Г’blikГ“ of the religious fundamentalist. A blik, as Hare describes it, is a pre set worldview
held by all people, in which they draw from when forming certain opinions on any particular
subject. In the case of religious fundamentalist, whose faith in the validity of the Book of
Genesis is an essential part of their blik, it becomes necessary for them to contort their literal
view of the Book of Genesis into a form that is scientifically acceptable. For this reason, creation
science still does not have a place in the science classroom of public schools.
Another problem with scientific creationism is that it would exclude the idea of a random
beginning. No theory could ever be tested to find origins because it would conflict with scientific
creationism. Scientific creationism would be, in essence, a lesson on science halting efforts to find
creation, if it is possible at all. It may, however, be acceptable as

Motherhood Stereotypes
The Market on Motherhood: How Stereotypes and Statistics Perpetuate Labour Market Inequality
Homo heterosexual wage differentials could also arise from the discriminatory consequences of
profiling, or statistical discrimination. Statistical discrimination occurs when an individual is
treated on the basis of their membership of a group racial, sexual, socioeconomical, or otherwise
and knowledge of that group s average characteristics. Thus, unless there is evidence which suggests
otherwise, an individual is considered as the average person of the group to which they belong. In
its essence, statistical discrimination is an efficient solution to an incomplete information problem,
occurring only when employers possess limited information about the true productivity of job

Working mothers are a regular target for statistical discrimination and motherhood, linked with a
per child wage penalty of approximately 5%, (Correll, Benard, Paik, 2007), is widely understood to
be one of the worst career moves a woman can make (Miller, 2014). Mothers are frequently
perceived as less competent employees, are thought to be less committed to their jobs, and are
more likely to receive wage, hiring, and promotional penalties for having children (Correll,
Benard, Paik, 2007). Contemporary norms only worsen the current situation: as women are
socialised to prioritise caregiving and childrearing over their careers, employers become more
and more hesitant to hire them, since they predict that they will be less likely to honour
workplace commitments and more prone to leaving their jobs in the future (Schneebaum, 2013).
The opposite is true for men: most fathers are perceived as stable, reliable, and dedicated
employees largely because employers expect them to be less flaky (Miller, 2014)

Reflection For English Language Learners In The Classroom
In the 21st century, collaboration plays an important role in education. Educators are required to
collaborate with other teachers about future curriculum deadlines, test scores, and classroom
management concerns. Yet, teachers should also learn to rely on their own best judgment when
determining what is best for their classroom.
While collaborating with my fellow classmates, Sarah and Tina, we decided to select teaching
objects that would benefit 3rd grade student as they work through the five stages of the writing
process. Sarah introduced an editing games that challenges students knowedge of grammar and
syntax needed during the editing stage in the writing process. Tina brought a graphic organizer
packet to the collaboration meeting that is useful during the prewriting stage. Finally, I introduced
a book called, Go Away Big Green Monsters! as a prewriting activity.
During the collaboration meeting, Sarah introduced a colorful editing game that reinforces
grammar and syntax skills needed during the editing phase of the writing process. Sarah s game
challenges the players to find sentence errors made by Bad Grammar himself, and to select the
right punctuation to correct the sentence. In my classroom, I would use Sarah s game in a
language or literacy center, where students can practice writing and proper grammar by playing
games. The game would also be great tool for English Language Learners (ELL) and Exceptional

The Is Representative Of A. Y Gasset s The Dehumanization...
1) Oliverio Girondo s poetry is representative of a new style of art encompassed in JosГ© Ortega
y Gasset s The Dehumanization of Art. Aesthetics no longer conform to the traditional classical
style but instead, champions a futurist type meant to bypass the limitations of rationale in a
trivial and playful nature likened to sport. Girondo clearly breaks from the platonic ideals of
beauty and delves into the aesthetics of the grotesque by using antipoetic language, which
sublimes the abject. This is made obvious early in Scarecrow other anomalies as he writes that
he couldn t care less if women have breasts like fresh magnolias or withered figs, skin smooth as
a peach or rough as sand paper. [...] breath of an aphrodisiac or the breath of an insecticide.
(Girondo 7). Girondo often uses ludic and vulgar language and has a clear objective of
relegating humans to beasts or objects, for example, he describes May a spider s foot sprout
from each of your pores, [...] may all the inhabitants of the city mistake you for a urinal. [...] May
your family amuse itself deforming your bone structure, so that mirrors, looking at you, commit
suicide out of sheer repugnance (Girondo 75). Girondo s scarecrow calligram illustrates the new
style of art masterfully as he creates an extended metaphor to ridicule bourgeois ideals, literarily
from head to toe intended to scare bourgeois aesthetics, instead of accustomed crows. Girondo
ultimately describes that a book should be put together like a

I can still hear my mom telling this story, like it was just yesterday. Certainly in the early eighties,
they were still coming up with such advancements, I am curious as to whether or not they tested on
animals or did other things that we might put into question in todays society.
It makes me think just what they had to do to get such advancements and how other things were
effected by them whether it be a life lost, animal testing, or something else. Science is a
wonderful thing. It gives up the opportunity to create life, cure diseases, and so many other things
that make our lives much more enjoyable. It is because of science that we, the United States, are
where we are today. which is a hell of a lot more than any other developed or developing country
can say. Just recently, within the past two years, we have finally been able to decode the human
genome. Having accomplished that, we can now pin point exactly on which chromosome a certain
mutation has occured, and now we can use that information to get a cure to treat it. Because of this,
many more children will make it to reproductive maturity. There is just so much to be learned and
discovered out there, that scientists cant work fast enough! Along with the great things that
accompany such great advancements, there is the issue of what is ethical and moral in the way that
scientists are able to come up with the tests and experiments that will be used to further enrich our

their refusal to assimilate into white culture and to trade in their traditional values for capitalistic

Still today, many federal officials and bureaucrats continue to view Native Americans as a problem

2016 Research Project and Presentation Cross Border Insolvency Legislation in the United States
Many companies nowadays do not confine their activities to the territory of one state and expand
their business to international markets. To do so, they inevitably enter into contracts with foreign
parties or acquire property in the territory of foreign states. At the same time, business risks
connected with the international transactions increase. Many companies become insolvent. The
insolvency of transnational companies with cross border relations is one of the greatest problems
in economic and legal terms. First and foremost, the assets and liabilities of the insolvent
company are located in many jurisdictions with their own bankruptcy laws. So, the conflict of
laws is unavoidable. The company s creditors can also be found in different jurisdictions with their
own regulation of creditors rights. The sensational bankruptcy of the Lehman Brothers Bank is
one of the many examples of cross border insolvency, when 75 court actions in 16 jurisdictions
were filed. However, since there is no uniform international legislation of cross border insolvency, it
is important to learn the legislation of different countries. As for the United States, The Bankruptcy
Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 ( BAPCPA ) was enacted on October 17,
2005, and included Chapter 15. Chapter 15,

A Summary on James Joyce’s Eveline
In James Joyce s Eveline , Eveline remains in Dublin to care for her father, to take care of the
house and the kids, and she realized she was already comfortable in her current home. Eveline has
lived in Dublin her whole life in Dublin and has seen her siblings either leave home or pass away
through time. Yet she remains in the house that she grew up in, experienced the changes in
environment, changes in time, and the change in the people around her. She has seen her mother
pass away, her father grow older and crueler. She has witnessed the field in which they used to
play every evening with other people s children be destroyed by a man from Belfast who bought
the field and built houses in it not like their little brown houses but... Show more content on

Eveline feared what would happen if she just got up and left her father. She was the one taking
care of him, regardless of his actions towards her. This fear can be backed up by state of Ireland
during that time, as it is written in On the Resources of Ireland Much of the public attention is at
this time drawn to the wants of the labouring poor of Ireland, and the great decay of her trade
and manufactures. (425). Thus in the end Eveline decided to stay in Dublin, her fear swallowed
her up. However this isn t a bad thing all together. It gave her the realization of what she truly
wanted in the end, and just because she gave into her fears, it does not mean she won t be happy
where she stays.

Diverse Sneakers Research Paper
As stated by Somer, Like Levi s and Coca Cola, Converse sneakers are global symbols of
American pop culture, which leads one to appreciate and comprehend how iconic the sneakers
really are in America. The intricate geometric patterns of the shoes and styles, the durability and
functionality, and sleek modern look make any pair of chucks a perfect example of art Deco that is
fashionable in both America and Europe (Somer, 1).
The Converse Shoe Company, and the shoes themselves, are more than just a shoe company or a
pair of sneakers, it is a lifestyle. So many people feel a true connection with these shoes and rely
on them for both everyday use and special occasions. They are a nice change from the regular
shoes today and will remain one of

Argumentative Essay On Black Power
Through the mid 1900 s, the black movement began in hopes of creating a better future around a
certain view that was based around social and political aspects. The Black Power movement came
about due to the fact that over the recent years, non violent actions were not combatting racism and
advocators of this movement wanted to start seeing results. The main purpose of this was because
blacks had simple, humane requests to end racismand give everyone equal opportunity. After
researching there was a passage that fit perfectly into describing the overall view of the movement
and how there was a direct controversy.. The controversy over Black Powerreflected and
perpetuated a split in the civil rights movement between organizations that maintained that
nonviolent methods were the only way to achieve civil rights goals and those organizations that
had become frustrated and were ready to adopt violence and black separatism . (). When looking at
both Stokely Carmichaeland Dr. King s views there can be contrasts on both including some
viewing King s view as outdated with little change and Carmichael as turning their beliefs into a
racially integrated society that some did not agree with.
The black power movement was also known as black nationalism which in other words meant that
there was advocacy for the racial redefinition for African American citizens. The first person who
claimed the term, black power and used it in a social and racial term was Stokely Carmichael. It was

5-Ima Lab
The present study investigates the cytogenetic changes that could be induced in cancer cells
after treatment with PDT. In this work, we evaluated the cytotoxic and genotoxic effects that
could be induced by 5 ALA/PDT on two different cancer cell lines; adenocarcinoma breast cancer
(MCF 7) and hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG2). When MCF 7 and HepG2 cell lines treated
with 5 ALA (0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2mM) alone for 4h then incubated for 24h, 5 ALA did not induce
cytotoxic effects on both cell lines. Also, laser irradiation alone did not induce a cytotoxic effect
on MCF 7 or HepG2 cells after exposure for 4min then incubation for 24h. These results are in
agreement with the observations of Chu et al. [21], who found that both 5 ALA and its... Show more

The effectiveness of 5 ALA/PDT to destroy acne lesions was evaluated by obstructing innate
immune response via the Toll like receptors (TLR), which overexpressed in human keratinocytes
with acne [26].
Micronucleus test is considered as one of the main cytogenetic parameters, which record partial or
whole chromosome breakage during mitosis [17]. Therefore, the efficacy of 5 ALA/PDT to induce
DNA damage, and release chromatin during mitosis, was detected by MN test. When MCF 7 and
HepG2 cell lines were treated with 5 ALA/PDT at 633nm, the ratio of micronuclei was increased
significantly in comparison to non treated groups. Some research studies demonstrated that not all
sensitizers have the ability to induce DNA damage or even cause cytotoxicity when applied with
laser irradiation, such studies include the observations of Zenzen and Zankl [23] who
demonstrated that h ALA/PDT did not induce significant chromosome aberrations or micronuclei
neither in tumor cell line RPMI 2650 nor fibroblast cell line WS1, however, it caused cytotoxicity
to RPMI 2650 tumor cell line. Also, the results of Horinouchi and Arimoto Kobayashi [27] found
that 5 ALA/PDT did not induce photogenotoxicity in keratinocyte NCTC2544 cells as evaluated by
MN test, but PpIX disodium salt induced genotoxicity after exposing the cells to 5 ALA/PDT with
UV irradiation of 5J/cm2

Unlike other countries where dictators and monarchs make decisions on behalf of the people, Americans get the right to decide who runs the country and what laws should govern citizens. But even though voting is an important privilege, most Americans simply don t vote, and some of their reasons may surprise you. Here are seven common reasons most Americans don t vote. 1.They think their vote won t count Many Americans don t vote because they think their vote doesn t count. This is a common excuse that s rooted in the belief that the Electoral College chooses the President, not the voters. In reality, the popular vote in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But in reality, voting lines are seldom long, even for high profile presidential races. With the advent of new technology, voting is becoming easier and more efficient than ever before, and this allows voters to get in and out without having to wait in long lines. This excuse is becoming less and less relevant as time goes on. 6.Don t like the candidates Politicians are sometimes easy to dislike. Their flaws are often aired publicly for the entire world to see, and many people generally distrust politicians based on this information. But even if you don t particularly like any of the candidates, do you really know them? And should it matter whether you like them or not? Perhaps a politician s stance on issues important to you is more important than whether or not they are likeable. Even if it s choosing the lesser of two or more evils in your eyes, voting is still an important way for you to voice your opinion about the subjects you care about most. 5.Can t get to the polls Getting to polling locations can be a hassle, especially for the disabled, the sick, and people without transportation. • 4. America Land Of Opportunity Essay The Great Land of America: Land Of Opportunity Many sought to migrate to America, a land that was talked so highly of, full of opportunities for all to have. From the rich to the poor, to the slaves and the free, most all was willing to do anything at their chance of happiness, riches, and success. However, the time period of the 1600 s through 1774 would have many trails, errors, and triumphs, and all would test the limits and the strengths of the newfound settlers, and would prove these opportunities to be a long, difficult road to success. In the early 1600 s many walks of life came to the America s, some in search of the riches that had been told of, and some just searching for freedom of religion. Among some of these people were colonists who had established their first permanent colony in Virginia, but low and behold many of these people fell victim to dissension and disease (Norton,41). Life in America would not be as easy such an easy task. Many of these people came with the intentions of relying on some of the local Indians for help in the areas of food and tribute, but the Indians did not want to cooperate (Norton,41). Essay on Toni Morrison s Sula The Character of Sula as a Rose nbsp; Authors developed the canon in order to set a standard of literature that most people needed to have read or to have been familiar with. The works included in the canon used words such as beautiful, lovely, fair, and innocent to describe women. The canonical works also used conventional symbols to compare the women to flowers such as the rose and the lily. Thomas Campion depicts the typical description of women in his poem, There is a Garden in Her Face. He describes the women by stating, There is a garden in her face / Where roses and white lilies grow,/ A heavenly paradise is that place,/ Wherein all pleasant fruits do flow (1044 5). The people in the town notice that except for a funny shaped finger and that evil birthmark, she was free of any normal signs of vulnerability (115). Again, the rose symbolized Sula s growth and carefree way of life. However, the stemmed rose is more than just a mark that changes shades. First of all, the rose represents a part of the whole that has been cut off from the original bush. Hence, Sula does not fit in with the people from the Bottom, and she knows that she leads a different way of life. Sula explains that the women of the Bottom will die like a stump, [while she will go down] like one of those redwoods (143). Everyone of the Bottom is alike and united in their hatred and fear of Sula. Because Sula is promiscuous and improper by the Bottom s standards, the women of the town believed they were leading better lives because of they did not live like Sula. In reality, however, the women were denying reality and used Sula to get over their guilt. Sula feels she is on a different level entirely her own, and she never competed; she simply helped others to define themselves (95). Society needs her in order to unite against her. In order to deliver a professional, accurate and fast service to customers, as well as to maintain the motivation and performance of banking staff, it is critical to design a smooth and friendly process for various types of service requests, or in other words, to allocate the tasks to appropriate positions. The purpose of this paper is to discuss the impacts on performance resulting from the job design in retail banking so as to demonstrate the ability of the author to apply the operations managementconcept into real life. When companies plan to reengineer or redesign the job, they could use the Job Characteristic Model (JCM), which was developed by Richard Hackman and Greg Oldham. The basic idea of the model is that task itself can drive the motivation and performance of employees (Saavedra Kwun, 2000, p. 132). There are five core job characteristics, including skill variety, task identity, task significance, autonomy and feedback, which influence psychological states of meaningfulness of job, responsibility for outcomes and knowledge of the actual results (Slack, Brandon Jones Johnston, 2013, p. 264). Eventually, the above mentioned psychological states will result in four aspects of personal outcomes, including motivation, quality performance, satisfaction as well as absenteeism and turnover (Slack et al., 2013, p. 264). Genes are important because they are the heredity of a living organismand it is given from a parent to their offspring. Scientist study genes to find cures for the many diseases found in the world. Unfortunately gene patents focus on the commercial side, therefore I believe gene patents should be banned. In this essay, I will outline arguments for and against gene patents. There have been many cases that have raised the public s awareness over gene patents. It was recently brought to attention again in the case of Association for Molecular Pathology v. Myriad Genetics (2013), when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that companies cannot patent naturally occurring forms of DNA; they can only patent artificial produced DNA. Naturally occurring genes are genes found on living organisms while artificial genes are products of genetic material that occur when a gene has been isolated and they cannot be found in an organism. • 23. Comparison Of The Dictatorship Of Big Brother And The... The dictatorship of Big Brother and the American government, both use similar ways to monitor their citizens, but they have different reasons for it. Big Brother wants to closely monitor his citizens so they are obedient by fear and the American government watches their citizens to protect them and their rights. They do this through televisions, spies and surveillancecameras. In the beginning of the novel 1984, the reader is introduced to how the governmentunder the dictatorship of Big Brother is administrated as well as how it runs its citizens. Not only are the people of Oceania suppressed, but they are also audited through whatever means deemed necessary by the government. They are even watched through their televisions. Because of this the main character, Winston Smith, placed his television on a wall in his house so Winston was able to remain outside the range of the telescreen, so far as sight went. This is where Winston writes his qualms with the government down in a diary. Furthermore, the CIA, has been said to have the capacity to break into our everyday consumer electronics.... The USA Today article goes into further detail by stating that, CIA hackers could break into iPhones, Android phones, PCs running Microsoft Windows and Samsung smart TVs, and exploit the microphones inside such electronics, (TVs are allegedly spying on you, Baig). It has been argued that this is a violation of privacy, but others state that it is merely for protection. In addition ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 24. Ww1 Week 1 Newspaper Analysis The focus of the workshop was newspapers and their content such as reports and editorials. We identified the editorial line of a newspaper and looked at how the editorial is a letter written by the editor and how it can demonstrate different opinions. We looked at letters to the editor and how they were used as primary sources. We discovered as they are written by readers discussing issues, they help provide a useful insight on people s concerns. We debated the benefits of newspapers such as that they give us a snapshot of peoples perceptions at the time. Limitation of using newspapers are that they are biased and generally contain propaganda. Historians have different views on newspapers. Andrew Hobbs argues that the provincial newspapers ... The Times newspaper s editorial argued that there remained little stock of food however the food prices were still low. They were not overly concerned since if the shipments with America and Australia could be maintained therefore England would not be too low on food, and canned food could be a reserve. They commented on how coal prices were on the rise as a result of the war. The Manchester Guardian s editorial stated they were shocked by the war and people were worried since there was no treaty obligation to become involved in European wars. The editorials gave a clear image certain domestic views; however the issues raised are of people s concerns, not the wider picture, this could lead to it not being reliable because it is biased and excluded certain points. Editorials show the opinion of the editor and it presents a snapshot of public moral. We could use editorials as a way of case studying public response building up to the war. The letters to the editor in the Times show that they feel that England s problems would be Ireland s opportunity and that people are protesting regarding the war. The methodology we used was qualitative as we looked at people s ideas towards the First World War. We used comparative methodology as we compared two newspapers and the people s views in each newspaper. We found that the strengths of newspapers were that it provides an insight to opinions at the time; they are often clearly written and may indicate the political position of the author. The truth of the matter is that many people climb the corporate ladder because they are associated with the right people whom are making executive decisions that make a difference. The government intends to provide equal opportunity based upon the individual s merit. Affirmative action provides qualified individuals with a variety of job opportunities; this program could be viewed as another avenue to excel in a career or towards a higher education. In many occurrences, minorities have been discriminated because it has been the custom not to hire them. Many city police and fire departments traditionally did not hire blacks; many craft unions did not accept black members. Many big companies did not hire blacks for higher positions; instead, blacks were hired as kitchen assistants and janitors. When these kinds of patterns are evident, affirmative action and quotas may be valid tools to respond with. Cannon 3 The use of affirmative action and quotas was demonstrated in 1983 in hearings held by Representative Don Edwards (D Cal.) and Patricia Schroeder (D Colo.). Whether it is for the greater good or for pure evil, cyber security seems to be breached every day as the media puts out headlines of major retailers, governments, and social media sites being broken into for personal information, mockery, or even to instigate real physical war. The recent surge of technological advances has brought attention to a deadly force once overlooked by all, the hackers. These individuals commit cyber crimes because they can retain anonymity, it is easier and less dangerous than a physical crime, and it makes it easy to draw attention on whatever it is they are attacking, which is why we as a society need to be educated on their motives and means of attack to protect us from their criminal actions. Criminals seem to be evolving at a quicker rate than technology, learning lessons from past criminals being caught and/or killed and adapting to the changing smart society. Millennials always hear from their parents to be wary of what they post online because it stays there forever, but the hackers of today laugh at that and are virtually invisible in any crimes they choose to commit. It can be looked at from several different angles, its validity being one of them. Despite the lack of evidence to support the fundamentalist idea of creationism, that in itself is not enough to warrant its exclusion from the curriculum of public schools in the United States. The problem in scientific creationism, and what I see as a reason for its exclusion from the science classroom in public schools, is the fact that it looks as if, from the outside, the whole theory that it rest on is simply a contortion of the traditional version of creation described in Genesis, custom made to fit in with Darwin s theory of evolution. R. M. Hare would probably say that scientific creationism is simply a modification of the story of creation in Genesis, to fit into the Г’blikГ“ of the religious fundamentalist. A blik, as Hare describes it, is a pre set worldview held by all people, in which they draw from when forming certain opinions on any particular subject. In the case of religious fundamentalist, whose faith in the validity of the Book of Genesis is an essential part of their blik, it becomes necessary for them to contort their literal view of the Book of Genesis into a form that is scientifically acceptable. For this reason, creation science still does not have a place in the science classroom of public schools. Another problem with scientific creationism is that it would exclude the idea of a random beginning. No theory could ever be tested to find origins because it would conflict with scientific creationism. Scientific creationism would be, in essence, a lesson on science halting efforts to find creation, if it is possible at all. It may, however, be acceptable as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mothers are frequently perceived as less competent employees, are thought to be less committed to their jobs, and are more likely to receive wage, hiring, and promotional penalties for having children (Correll, Benard, Paik, 2007). Contemporary norms only worsen the current situation: as women are socialised to prioritise caregiving and childrearing over their careers, employers become more and more hesitant to hire them, since they predict that they will be less likely to honour workplace commitments and more prone to leaving their jobs in the future (Schneebaum, 2013). Aesthetics no longer conform to the traditional classical style but instead, champions a futurist type meant to bypass the limitations of rationale in a trivial and playful nature likened to sport. Girondo clearly breaks from the platonic ideals of beauty and delves into the aesthetics of the grotesque by using antipoetic language, which sublimes the abject. This is made obvious early in Scarecrow other anomalies as he writes that he couldn t care less if women have breasts like fresh magnolias or withered figs, skin smooth as a peach or rough as sand paper. [...] May your family amuse itself deforming your bone structure, so that mirrors, looking at you, commit suicide out of sheer repugnance (Girondo 75). A Brief Note On The American Legal System Class: Introduction to the American Legal System Student: Ais Lidzhanova Date: November 6, 2016 Research Project and Presentation Cross Border Insolvency Legislation in the United States Many companies nowadays do not confine their activities to the territory of one state and expand their business to international markets. To do so, they inevitably enter into contracts with foreign parties or acquire property in the territory of foreign states. At the same time, business risks connected with the international transactions increase. Many companies become insolvent. The insolvency of transnational companies with cross border relations is one of the greatest problems in economic and legal terms. First and foremost, the assets and liabilities of the insolvent company are located in many jurisdictions with their own bankruptcy laws. So, the conflict of laws is unavoidable. The company s creditors can also be found in different jurisdictions with their own regulation of creditors rights. The sensational bankruptcy of the Lehman Brothers Bank is one of the many examples of cross border insolvency, when 75 court actions in 16 jurisdictions were filed. Also, laser irradiation alone did not induce a cytotoxic effect on MCF 7 or HepG2 cells after exposure for 4min then incubation for 24h. These results are in agreement with the observations of Chu et al. [21], who found that both 5 ALA and its... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The effectiveness of 5 ALA/PDT to destroy acne lesions was evaluated by obstructing innate immune response via the Toll like receptors (TLR), which overexpressed in human keratinocytes with acne [26]. Micronucleus test is considered as one of the main cytogenetic parameters, which record partial or whole chromosome breakage during mitosis [17]. Therefore, the efficacy of 5 ALA/PDT to induce DNA damage, and release chromatin during mitosis, was detected by MN test. When MCF 7 and HepG2 cell lines were treated with 5 ALA/PDT at 633nm, the ratio of micronuclei was increased significantly in comparison to non treated groups. Some research studies demonstrated that not all sensitizers have the ability to induce DNA damage or even cause cytotoxicity when applied with laser irradiation, such studies include the observations of Zenzen and Zankl [23] who demonstrated that h ALA/PDT did not induce significant chromosome aberrations or micronuclei neither in tumor cell line RPMI 2650 nor fibroblast cell line WS1, however, it caused cytotoxicity to RPMI 2650 tumor cell line. Also, the results of Horinouchi and Arimoto Kobayashi [27] found that 5 ALA/PDT did not induce photogenotoxicity in keratinocyte NCTC2544 cells as evaluated by MN test, but PpIX disodium salt induced genotoxicity after exposing the cells to 5 ALA/PDT with UV irradiation of 5J/cm2 ...
