Origin
    This training programme was designed initially for a
    multinational industrial corporation in 2005
    Assignment: to design a programme to train operations
    supervisors (production team leaders) in people management
    skills and train internal trainers to qualify them to deliver the
    training locally.
    The programme was based
    on our successful
    Dutch Effective Leadership
    training programme

Objective of the training

    To master the attitude and skills needed for day-to-day leadership
    To be better people managers
    To act more as intermediates between operators and higher
    management
    To create an operations supervisors team
    This includes
      –     Improving self-management of the supervisors
      –     Improving performance and social skills coaching of operators
      –     Improving in-company co-operation and communication
      –     Improving management skills

     Module 1: Personal Leadership (3 days)
     Interim period (3-4 weeks)
     Module 2: People Skills (2 days)
     Interim period (3-4 weeks)
     Module 3: Management Skills (2 days)
     Implementing Personal Action Plan

Way of working
Way of working
     Pre-training preparation
     Management & other stakeholders are included
     A pleasant mix of theory and learning by doing
     Participant initiative is required and encouraged
     The trainers transfer knowledge and experience, but also support and
     challenge the participants
     The participants support each other during the programme
     The participants have training-related meetings with their line manager
     before, during and after the training
     Structured follow-up after the end of the programme

Results of the training programme
Results of the training programme
    Participants have a better understanding of their personal
    qualities, which results in better self-management and
    personal leadership
    Participants have gained many practical insights which they
    can apply in coaching employees and communicating with the
    company
    Participants have practised with practical management skills
    Participants have experienced 7 training days full of learning,
    interaction, reflection, forming moments and humour
    Participants have become better managers who focus on the
    organization rather than only on their own team.

Origin This training programme was designed initially for a multinational industrial corporation in 2005 Assignment: to design a programme to train operations supervisors (production team leaders) in people management skills and train internal trainers to qualify them to deliver the training locally. Objective of the training To master the attitude and skills needed for day-to-day leadership To be better people managers To act more as intermediates between operators and higher management To create an operations supervisors team This includes – Improving self-management of the supervisors – Improving performance and social skills coaching of operators – Improving in-company co-operation and communication – Improving management skills 28-2-2011 www.focus-lerenenontwikkelen.nl 4
