Hello and thank you for participating in this
interview. Do you have any reservations in regard to
being filmed? Then we may proceed.
1. Firstly, are you a fan of the Hip Hop genre?
2. If so, what role does the music play in your life,
and how substantial is it?
3. If you’re not a fan, can you explain why?
4. I would like to show and collect your thoughts on
these various Hip Hop albums.
5. (After showing candidates the collection of
albums) What in particular appeals to you most
on each cover, and why? What stands out as
weak?
6. Which, in your opinion, is the most effective
album cover in regard to aesthetic appeal, why?
7. Which cover do you find the most conventional
and why?
8. Which cover looks the weakest, or least
conventional in your opinion?
9. Do you think subverting genre expectations is an
effective technique, or even conventional of Hip
Hop albums?
