5. Nagerbazar junction on Jessore Road is an important junction situated in the
north of Kolkata city under South Dum Dum Municipal Area.
It is the east terminal point of Dum Dum Road which acts as E-W link between B
T Road and Jessore Road thereby NH 34 in the north.
Nagerbazar Junction is a T-type junction of Dum Dum Road and Jessore Road.
This junction gets congested everyday due to the development of markets,
construction of multi storied buildings in the peripheral plots and shops.
The traffic congestion situation gets further worsened due to the accumulation of
buses, auto rickshaws and slow moving vehicles at the junction area.
To facilitate an easy movement of the through traffic at Nagerbazar, Transport
Department, Government of West Bengal, proposed a Flyover along Jessore
Road with Entry ramp from Dum Dum Road.
