Vegetarianism Vs Buddhism Essay
Buddhism is a religion with many different beliefs, traditions, and spiritual practices, founded in
ancient India in the sixth century by Siddhartha Gautama (Buddha). It spread through much of Asia
and later declined to India. Some of the of Buddhist philosophies are: The Four Noble Truths, the
Noble Eightfold Path and The Five Precept, Unsatisfactoriness. These basically deal with the way
suffering exists universally, and that desire and attachment are the causes of unsatisfactoriness and
suffering. Even though Buddhist dietary laws vary are not very clear, most of them are vegetarians, or
is at least desirable, and they have different opinions on eating meat.

The Revolutionary Armed Forces Of Colombia ( Farc ) Essay
1. The shifting landscape that Welch speaks of refers to a global political shift where power has moved
from the central institutions to smaller, intrastate actors. Interstate wars have declined sharply in
number since the end of World War II. The rise of nongovernmental and international organizations,
the establishment of cooperation agreements and confidence building measures, and the increasing
presence of the news media, are all elements that have relegated traditional wars to a thing of the past.
These non state actors can be terrorist groups, guerrillas, organized crime networks or even a
combination of state and non state actors. The majority of the groups work underneath larger networks
whose goal is the conquest of local or national sovereignty for example, the Revolutionary Armed
Forces of Colombia (FARC). They try to acquire the attributes of the State, through violence,
corruption, ideological persuasion or political subversion. They look to take over a territory and its
population in order to set up their political, military, and social institutions. They use oppressive
methods to fulfill their aim. Smaller networks do not always want to overthrow the State, but to
substitute their form of governance to meet their goals. The forces, national or international, that have
been assembled to quell these types of threats are usually more powerful than the organizations they
are trying to defeat. Conversely, non state actors attempt to develop alliances with

Coat Of Arms
Have you ever heard of the coat of arms? A coat of arms is a unique heraldic design on a shield. They
were first made in England by King Richard in the 13th century. The origin of the name is in the
surcoat, the cloth tunic worn over the to shield it from the sun s rays. A coat of arms can also be called
a family crest, if it is passed down generations. A family crest has a motto, four symbols, and a family
name. Three things that I put on my family crest are an elephant, a cross, and a flower. One thing that I
put on my family crest is an elephant. Although they are my favorite animal, I chose an elephant
because they are strong, and I like how smart they are. Elephants represent a lot of things. For
example, they represent strength, wisdom,

The Three Reasons Of Japanese Culture
I have three reasons of studying tea ceremony. First reason is that I wanted to revise Japanese culture.
I am always interested in Japanese culture. When I was a junior high school, I played Kendo. When I
was a high school student, I played Kyudo. From these experiences, I was very impressed with
Japanese culture because I could understand how Japanese culture thinks and cares other people. For
example in Kendo and Kyudo, even if I win the game, I do not have to show my feeling to the others.
The reason of this is to respect and appreciate an opponent. I think it is very important thing as a
human. Everyone cannot live alone so we need to live with supporting each other. To support each
other, that spirit will be needed. That is why I love ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
First reason is that I wanted to get the knowledge of Japanese culture as Japanese. Some people say it
is wrong to say like this, if you are Japanese, you must be able to play Sumo wrestling . I also think it
is not good to say or think in that way however, I want to know Japanese culture because I want to
value Japanese identity. Second reason is that I wanted to have more friends through the class. I am
not good at communicating with people so I do not have so many friends. However, I thought I could
make friends by drinking green tea because I think one of the purposes of tea ceremony is to meet new
friends. That is why I took this class with believing to be able to have new friends. As a result, I could
have many new friends and they are all kind people. As I expected, tea ceremony was the place, which
gives the wonderful encounter. Moreover, I could really enjoy this class with other students. Third
reason is that I want to make green tea to my mother. When I was a young, she took me to the tea
ceremony many times. Therefore I could know how beautiful Japanese culture is and how elegant tea
ceremony is. If I did not experience tea ceremony, I would not recognize the wonderfulness of
Japanese culture and choose this university APU. Therefore I can have a good experience in APU now.
It is because my mother taught me these cultures. That is why I thought I want to make green tea for
her with my gratitude. However, I did

Foreign Bank Entry Effect On Domestic Banking Essay
CHAPTER 2
LITERATURE REVIEW
2.1 Introduction
The study of foreign bank entry effect towards domestic banking in Malaysia in term of long term
loan is an important tool to evaluate the difference between foreign bank and domestic bank in
Malaysia. Other than that, it is also important to determine management planning and strategic
analysis. Banks contribute to economic growth, so if the bank performance is outstanding, the overall
economy will be strong. There are few studies have discussed the similar topic. Therefore, some of the
articles are selected as a references.
Ben Ukaegbu and Isaiah Oino (2014) conduct a comprehensive field of study on the impact of foreign
bank entry on domestic banking in a developing country from the perspective of Kenyan. Using 19
banks level data from 2001 to 2009, the authors examine the penetration of foreign banks into Kenya
and the impact on domestic banking operations. Objective of their study is to examine the impact of
foreign bank entry on domestic banking and to evaluate how the entry of foreign impacts access to
credit. The study used percentage of foreign banks as a dependent variable which may influence the
independent variables such as profitability of domestic bank, net interest margin, loan loss reserve
ratio, cost income ratio, Tier 1 capital, average lending rate, private credit to gross domestic product,
inflation and percentage of non performing loan of domestic banks. Regression analysis has applied to
assess the impact

Direct Observation Paper
For my direct observation paper, I decided to write about the Social Learning Theory, proposed by
Albert Bandura. This theory asserts that learning is a cognitive process that takes place in a social
context and can occur purely through observation or direct instruction, even in the absence of motor
reproduction or direct reinforcement. I observed two young, caucasian boys at a shopping mall. The
purpose of this paper is to use the course material from my PSY 335 course and applicate it to the real
world through this observation.
During the class presentation by Dr. Felver on Septmeber 7th, the Social Learning Theory was
discussed. Bandura s social learning theory, states that people learn from one another via observation,
imitation and modeling. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The boy first saw the other boy whom we can assume was his brother or friend doing this behavior
and then initiated the same behavior. Besides this, the young boy also showed characteristics of this
theory in the beginning when he pointed at the carousel and said horsee, shortly after it was said after
the other boy. Bandura s theory stressed that one can acquire a wide range of behaviors and thoughts
through observing others behaviors. In this case, one boy observed the other boy point at the carousel,
say horsee, and repeated the same behavior. Similarly, while riding the carousel, the boy observed the
other boy making clicking noises with his tongue and saying neigh, neigh, and repeated the same
behavior. This can be classified as cognitive, observational learning. Bandura s most recent model of
learning and development, highlights three elements; behavior, the person/cognition, and the
environment. An individual s confidence, the fact that he can control his success is an example of the
person factor. The strategies he uses are examples of cognitive factors. Behavior, cognitive and
environmental factors are interactive. Behavior can influence cognitive and environmental factors and
vice versa. In this observation, there is a link between person and cognitive

ABSTRACT
DEFINING ISLAMIC WAY OF WARFARE AND ITS COMPARISON WITH AL
QAEDA DOCTRINE, by Major Intekhab Haider Khan, 85 pages.
With the rise of Al Qaeda and like minded militant groups, there have been many discussions and
misrepresentations of the term Islamic way of warfare. It is important to understand that anything, to
be qualified as Islamic, has to have a reference from the core sources of Islam, i.e. the Quran, and the
practices and sayings of Prophet Muhammad
(PBUH). This research is focused to define an Islamic way of warfare based on these fundamental
sources, with a view to identifying whether Al Qaeda is truly Islamic or not.
This thesis identifies that Islam does not dictate minor tactical matters of warfare, rather focuses its
guidance on warfare in two broad categories: the just cause for waging war, and limited restrictions on
conduct during the war.

Essay On Lindbergh Kidnapping
Not all cases are heard in both federal and state courts. There are only a few types of cases that can be
heard in both. The federal courts deal with Cases that deal with the constitutionality of a law; Cases
involving the laws and treaties ; Cases involving ambassadors and public ministers; Disputes between
states; Admiralty law;Bankruptcy; and Habeas corpus issues (uscourts.gov). State courts will hear
most criminal cases, probate, contract cases, personal injury cases, and family law. The Supreme
Courts may choose not to hear or to hear these cases (uscourts.gov).
One of the most famous kidnapping cases of all time would be the baby Lindbergh kidnapping case of
1932. Charles Augustus Lindbergh, Jr., 20 month old son of the famous aviator and Anne Morrow
Lindbergh, was kidnapped on March 1, 1932, from the nursery of the Lindbergh home near Hopewell,
New Jersey. Because this was a kidnapping the state would have the first jurisdiction over the case. As
the police search the the home a ransom note demanding $50,000 was discovered on the nursery
window. . The Hopewell police were notified, and the New Jersey State Police assumed charge of the
investigation. After a while a second ransom note was received demanding that the ransom was
increased to $70,000 (The Lindbergh Kidnapping. n.d.).
The mayor requested that the Commissioner of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), report of all of the
work being performed by the IRS Intelligence Unit. It was announced that the FBI would have
jurisdiction in the handling of any investigation done on the case. After four years of investigations

Ivan Erinsovich Fittest Quotes
Can a man who s warm understand one who s freezing?
Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
Sitting amidst thousands of other sentences in this novel, this particular formation of words stand out
above the rest. It is not a long sentence, nor does it look like much to one who may have just skimmed
over it, however this quote speaks volumes not only for this book, but also for humanity as a whole.
One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich stirs up many emotions; controversy over authoritative
oppression, living under a Stalinist approach in government, as well as survival of the fittest. These
themes are extremely relevant to the quote at the beginning of this passage, as well as to the
groundbreaking novel. In the beginning of the story, the prisoners are ... Show more content on

This surrenders the zeks to the supremacy of big guys. The guards even drown out a sense of natural
daylight or darkness with the high beams of the surveillance lights. By taking away something so
simple as knowing what time of day it is, these prisoners are relinquished of any and all daily
privileges a normal human being would have all thanks to the mercilessness of Stalin and his cohorts.
Another well suited sub theme is survival of the fittest. Although some of these men do befriend each
other and Shukov himself seems to have a handful of acquaintances among his gang, in such an
environment there is a sense of every man for himself. I believe that is why small things like Shukov s
pal Fetyukov saving a breakfast bowl for him helps him appreciate his luck at the very end of the day.
Survival ranks highest in importance to the zeks. Among this importance is also attitude; one s
approach is a fundamental factor in survival since prisoners are each assigned work tasks, it is
considered good manners to conform and obey. This is idea is drawn through Ivan s friend Fetyukov, a
ministry worker who let himself into prison and narrowly respects forced work camp

Cutting Edge Korean Slides From Middle Korean
Cutting edge Korean slides from Middle Korean, which thus dives from Old Korean, whiplummets
from the dialect talked in Prehistoric Korea (named Proto Korean), whose nature is wrangled, to a
limited extent since Korean hereditary inceptions are dubious. A connectch ion of Korean (together
with its wiped out relatives which shape the Koreanic family) with Japonic dialects has been proposed
by etymologists like William George Aston and Samuel Martin. Roy Andrew Miller and others
proposed or bolstered the incorporation of Koreanic and Japonic dialects in the implied Altaic family
(a full scale family that would contain Tungusic, Mongolian and Turkic families), now not
acknowledged by generally masters. Chinese characters touched base in Korea together with
Buddhism amid the pre Three Kingdoms period and stayed as the sole script for composing Korean
through over a thousand years (Chinese script adjusted for Korean is known as hanja) alongside the
phonetic scripts that were later imagined. Just special elites were taught for fluidly perused and think
of them, however, as the vast majority of the populace was ignorant. In the fifteenth century, King
Sejong the Great felt that the hanja were not sufficient to compose Korean and this was the reason for
its exceptionally limited use, so (with a conceivable help of the Hall of Worthies) he built up an
alphabetic featural composing framework referred to today as hangul, which was intended to either
help in perusing hanja or supplant

Three Examples Of Racial Discrimination In The Workplace
When I think of racial discrimination, I automatically include prejudice and stereotyping. I believe
that these go hand in hand and without one the others are irrelevant. Meaning, if we did not have racial
discrimination, prejudice and stereotyping would not exist. This is my personal belief. The definition
of race in our class book is as follows Race typically refers to appearances, such as skin color, hair
type (straight, curly, kinky), skin hue, eye color, stature, body size, nose, eyes, and head shape
(Robinson Wood, 2008). So racial discrimination could be defined as unequal treatment on the
premise of their race or ethnicity (Pager and Shepherd, 2008).
This paper will provide three examples of racial discrimination based on my experience or acts of
racial discrimination I have witnessed. I will begin with racial discrimination within my family,

Both Kim and Heather tried to apologize, but, my decision was to not have that type of negativity in

based on the hair and personal hygiene of African Americans.
Workplace Because I was a stay at home mom for most of my life, I have not had an opportunity to
witness any racial discrimination at the few jobs I did have. However, in attendance of a salon a few
years ago, I did witness racial discrimination while receiving a pedicure in Texas. The salon was

incident I am going to describe, the brother and sister appeared to be open minded and free from
prejudice. The brother was so funny and upbeat. He would get the entire salon, laughing; until this

ruler must attain in order to gain and maintain a successful reign. The novel serves as an abstract

Warning that Mercenaries and Auxiliaries are useless and dangerous... (40) any use of either will surly
hinder, even destroy success. Mercenaries are described to be power hungry, undisciplined and
disloyal; lacking any fear of God therefore, placing no faith in their fellow man. Truly, they are
pretenders whom face a friend with bravery, yet are cowardly upon battle. Consequently, Auxiliaries
whom are called for defense and assistance are also ill advised by Machiavelli. Auxiliaries are the
other useless kind of troops... (44) here he uses the example of Pope Julius II and his failure upon
battle, concluding that anyone who doesn t want to succeed should use this form of recourse. With
both of Mercenaries and Auxiliaries there is no loyalty nor sense of fellowship, which are essential in
military success. The importance of trust and loyalty in a military force must also be exemplified by a

continuous circle. Patterns from the past, for example, military coats or studs and spikes or splendid
hues and dynamic patters have done a full circle and are back on pattern today. As more American
ladies entered the military or took regular citizen employments in industry to bear on the work of men
who had gone off to war; ladies needed designs that were less frilly and more suitable for work. They
likewise needed apparel styles like the outfits worn by their men. When all is said in done ladies
apparel got to be uninteresting and viable and limited however most importantly; utilitarian. There
was little frill on the first things in light of the fact that beautification obliged extra fabric and

Childhood Observation Report
The day is Thursday, March 16. I am at the Child Discovery Center, observing Josiah, age 8. Josiah is
part of the after school program, in room 1. The observation takes place outside, on the school s
playground. The time is 4:30 pm. Josiah starts to play a game of leprechaun tag , and he is it. He
begins to run after two other girls, his arms are lifted at his sides as he pumps them back and forth, and
he is running at a moderate pace. He is not as fast as the other children playing. While he is chasing
the girls, he comes up to a small wall. He extends his right foot, landing it on the wall, then pushing
off in one swift motion. He continues to run after the girls for a few minutes, chasing them around the
playground and avoiding objects and people. Josiah slows down to a walk, arms resting at his ... Show

According to the book, children at Josiah s age should have mastered agility, balance, coordination,
power, reaction time and speed. I don t think Josiah showed any real problem area that is concerning. I
do think that he can improve more on his gross motor development, since there s always room from
growth, and I think involving him in some different gross motor activities will help him improve even
more. The book also states that children at this age should have smooth and controlled movements.
Josiah s movements were all smooth, there wasn t a time where he struggled to do something. He is
able to smoothly and effectively perform actions with ease. Josiah will benefit from some gross motor
activities to help him master all these skills. These activities include:
Involving Josiah in a sport like soccer. A sport can help him greatly improve his gross motor skills,
like his agility and coordination, and provide many other positive effects. This could also help his
muscular endurance so that he s not making so many stops while playing a game of

Walmart Audit Fees
The audit fees for these three companies can be compared in numerous ways. First, they can be
compared by their size by looking at the total revenue and total assets. From the revenue standpoint,
Walmart had the largest amount of total revenue but paid the median amount of audit fees. On the
other hand, Microsoft had the least amount of total revenue but paid the highest amount in audit fees.
Also, Apple Inc. had the median amount of revenue but paid the least amount in audit fees. When
looking at the total assets, there is an inverse relationship between the amount of assets and the audit
fees paid. Apple Inc. had the largest amount of total assets but paid the least amount in audit fees. On
the other hand, Microsoft had the least amount of total assets but paid the most in audit fees. Finally,
Walmart had the median amount of total assets and paid the median amount in fees. Comparing the
fees by revenue did not produce any clear patterns, but comparing them by assets showed a clear
inverse relationship. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Different companies charge different fees. Also, the size of auditing firm affects the amount of fees
they charge. Big Four firms will charge more than smaller regional audit firms. These companies were
all audited by Big Four firms but were charged a wide range in fees. Walmart and Apple Inc. were
both audited by Ernst Young and paid similar amounts in audit fees. Microsoft was audited by Deloitte
Touche and paid more than twice as much as Walmart or Apple Inc. By comparing the fees based on
who did the audit, it appears that Deloitte Touche charged far more than Ernst

Seal Hunting Research Paper
Canadians take pride in many things whether it is a national sport, tradition or culture. But why do
Canadians turn a blind eye on Seal Hunting? Do they feel bad for the animals? Do they take seal
hunting as a form of animal cruelty? Or do they just don t want to shine a light on it because it is
considered a national disgrace among many Canadians? The common practice of seal hunting in the
North of Canada is important and crucial in ways because it has a traditional significance to First
Nations People, is of economic importance, and is ethically scrupulous. Firstly, Seal Hunting has a
long history and carries a traditional significance among First Nations People. A community who has a
rich history of Seal Hunting is The Netsilik Inuit ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It provides employment for many Canadians and even First Nations People; it provides employment
for around 5,000 to 6,000 northern people and families.[5] Hunting provides many people to support
their families and themselves. Also, another was seal hunting is generating income into Canada is
through a seal s skin, also called seal pelts , the income of seals pelts in Canada have also sparked over
the years, with $16.5 million in 2005 and sparking to $34.1 million in 2006.[6] This contributed
greatly to the Canadian economy. Seal hunting does not only affect the sealing sector but also it also
affects the Canadian Fishery business. For example, on average seals consume 1.4 tons of fish per
year. If the seal hunting stops and the seal population goes unchecked (The Harp Seals, which is a
common species of seal in Canada has an abundant 7.4 million[7]) if the population keeps on rising
the seals will consume the majority of the fish (mostly cod) and will collapse the Fishing industry
because of the lack of fish in the water.[8] The annual seal hunt protects both seal population from
over populating and the fishes so the seals can eat but there is enough for the fishing industry to keep

Modern Day Syrian Arab Republic
Modern day Syria officially called the Syrian Arab Republic is located in southwest Asia. It is
bordered by the Mediterranean Sea, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, Iraq, and Asia. This country is about the
size of the state of Washington at 76,500 square miles. In 1995 the populations was estimated at 14.2
million. There are many different ethnic and religion groups in Syria. Muslim is the primary religion,
but there are many Christians and Jews. When it comes to ethnicity Arab is the majority with many
Kurds, Armenians, Turkmen, and Assyrians. The primary language is Arabic, but many ethnic groups
have their own languages as well. Syrians have their own dialect from the formal language, which
divides them from other Arab speaking people (Jones). Much of the immigration information on early
Syrians to America such as the time periods and amount of people is difficult to acquire. Syria was
called Greater Syria before 1920, which was part of the Ottoman Empire. Some immigrants may have
been considered Turks or Lebanese at Ellis Island even though they came from Syria. It is more likely
that Syrian and Arab immigration occurred after 1880. Also, many of the immigrants that came to
American during and after the Civil War returned to their originating country after earning money
(Jones). There are many reasons why people migrated from Syria to America. Many were seeking
religious freedom, but the primary incentive was the American Dream. Most of these immigrants

The Influence Of Friday Night Lights On Football Culture
The main idea of this paper is to introduce you to what really happens as a high school athlete and the
things you learn along the way. High school sports is way more than just playing the sport, it shows
you what you are really made of and how to handle problems life is going to throw at you. The
adversity you face as an athlete carries over to real world problems and you have been there and done
that, so handling adversity is second nature. This information comes from all my coaches, myself and
Friday Night Lights. I feel I have already grown as a person by competing in athletics and calling
other people my brothers. Not only does high school athletics help you in the long run, but it helps you
with problems you have now.

It showed everyone s problems and how they handle those problems. In some cases like the star
quarterback Brian who was paralyzed from the waist down, showed how he handle that major obstacle
by himself. Rarely did Friday Night Lights show the coach, players, or family support him. In real life
football culture the star quarterback who was paralyzed would get endless amounts of support. Not
only from his family, but his football family too. The football family along with his real family would
be there with him through all the ups and downs. Not just for a month, but for his whole life. Football
culture creates a bond that can never be broken and Friday Night Lights did a bad job of showing that
truth, but in other cases, Friday Night Lights did an amazing job by showing the truth of football
culture by how they handle adversity. Adversity is everywhere and can hit you at any time of the day
and any day in the year. As adversity hit the star Running Back Dash, he folded it up and called it
quits. He was going to be a gangster and play the streets game, but something changed inside of Dash.
After the abuse charges and numerous of injuries he could not quit, he worked harder than he has ever
worked before. He pushed himself to the limit and got that scholarship he dreamed of getting. You
might ask what changed inside of Dash, and that answer is his coach. His coach walked to his house
and told him how it was, he saw great talent and a great young man. All Dash needed was a reminder
and throughout all the problems that have been explained in this paper you always need that back bone
of advice and Friday Night Lights did a fantastic job of proving that. In the TV show the coach was
the backbone for advice. Any problems the players faced they went straight to the coach. They did not
go to their mom or dad, but they went to the leader of their second family and that holds a

Interpretations: Communication: Jace shows that he is below average in communication. The first
piece of evidence for this are his test scores. Jace was given the Vineland II test. On the
communication section of the Vineland Jace received a standard score of 60. In terms of percentile
Jace scored in less than the first percentile. This means that Jace did as well as or better than 1 percent
of the other individuals who took this test. In the Vineland communication is split into different
sections which are written, receptive, and expressive. For receptive and expressive Jace scored below
average. Jace does not have a written score. On the PLS 4 (Preschool Language Test) test0 Jace scored

Jace did not have many receptive language skills. For example, Jace s mom told Jace to put a piece of
trash in the garbage can. Jace s mom repeated the command several times. Jace did not say no instead
he only pulled away. According to the developmental milestones children should be able to respond to
simple commands by the age of 1. Another milestone for language is to point to something the child
wants. Jace does not point at the object he wants. When he wants something he will pull his mother
into the room. Once his mother is in the room he does not point to the object. Another Milestone is
being able to say several single words. Jace occasionally said mom . He also attempted to say bubbles,
but other than that he said no other words. For milestones of younger kid s children at the age of one
should also be able to wave goodbye. Jace occasionally is does this but it is not consistent. One of the
milestones for a one year child is to try to say the words adults around him say. Jace does not mimic
what others are saying. He gives little recognition when others are

Johnathan Research Paper
Jane was left anonymously at an orphanage in Brisbane in 1951. The girl grew up having no clue of
her parents identities. It was on May the fifth 1969 that she got drunk and slept with an drunk, older
man. Unfortunately for Jane, she got pregnant and her partner was anything but inclined to stick
around. Despite her friends advice, Jane refused to get an abortion. She had always been stubborn. She
probably would have made a decent parent, but disaster struck again for our Jane. A serious of
complications occurred in the delivery room of a grotesque nature. The birth was a long and painful
one. By the end of it Jane was utterly sleep deprived, and it was hardly her fault that the baby was lost.
She handed it to a man dressed in doctors clothes the full get up. The man vanished, and despite the
polices best efforts, was never tracked down. This loss was just too much for Jane. She tried to keep it
together, but the bar room ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

for having gotten the poor guy so drunk, the bartender did something he d never done before. He
revealed his true identity and he cut Johnathan a deal. The bartender was a shifter , or so he said, and
could bend the fabric of time as he pleased. He offered Johnathan a chance to discover who had taken
his baby son, and, if he desired, to get his revenge. The condition was that Johnathan would join the
bartenders guild of shifters for life. Despite having barely comprehended the barman s words,

Should Sports And The Athletes From A Financial Perspective
To Pay or Not to Pay Athletics have always been a huge part of my life. For as long as I can remember
I have been throwing a ball, catching a ball, racing, competing, you name it. This led me to so many
great opportunities in my life. I played on a state championship football team in high school, I had the
opportunity to play college football, and I formed relationships that will no doubt last me a lifetime.
So yes, it is near and dear to my heart. Thus, I pay serious attention to things that often go on in the
world of sports, some that are more important than others. The hot button issue when it comes to
college athletics today is the relationship between the schools and the athletes from a financial
perspective. When I first started hearing about it, I can honestly say that I did not know too much
about the subject. There are a lot of economics and business concepts and terms that were a foreign
language to me. As I continued to research, I became fascinated with both sides of this issue which
have credible arguments. On one side of it, there are pundits who will be the first to say we should not
pay these athletes for a myriad of reasons that I will go into as I progress. The other side says that the
current system is nothing short of exploitation on the highest level that these athletes are not being
properly compensated for what they endure day in and day out. This is a delicate issue that is
becoming more and more of a focal point throughout the country. The myth

National Strategy For Homeland Security Essay
The National Strategy for Homeland Security is tasked with guiding, unifying, and organizing
America s homeland security efforts. The National Strategy seeks to protect the Americans, the
country s infrastructure and major resources as well as prevent and thwart any terrorist attacks. It also
responds to and ensures recovery from incidents and strengthens the foundation for long term success.
Such involves developing a preparedness culture among various partners across the country to make
use of well planned response, defensive approaches, and recovery measures.
However, terrorists are adapting to the current practices on terrorism response protocols and using

Therefore, it is critical, to maintain a balance in emergency management planning as well as ensuring
an implementation of all hazards approaches. There is also a need to address risk management through
strategic planning to create programs and capabilities regarding the homeland security programs.
Further, the National Strategy should incorporate operational planning to identify any threats and
hazards and determine the risk reduction objectives.
The National Strategy for Homeland Security could benefit from information sharing in regard to
terrorism response protocols. This would call for all entities involved in counterterrorism to share
information effectively and understand each other s contributions, responsibilities, and roles. It is also
critical for these agencies to update and establish new information sharing agreements to spur
collaboration and coordination as well as formalize and reaffirm the responsibilities and roles of
partners in the information sharing

Pip And Estella Manipulation
In the coming of age novel Great Expectations by Charles Dickens, Pip and Estella are both puppets
and prisoners under similar situations with contrasting intentions and origins. Estella is just a baby girl
when her parents get into a fight and her mother threatens to murder her. She is taken away from her
parents, leaving her father to believe she is dead, and given to Miss Havisham; a woman whose heart
becomes shattered by a man from which she becomes obsessed over. Pip is a small boy whose family
with the exception of his sadistic sister have all perished. Pip s sister constantly beats him over the

social class to the point where Pip is completely repulsed by the person he is. Pip spends 20 years of
his life becoming a gentleman by the means of a secret benefactor. Estella leads him on saying that he
s the only one she has never deceived. Pip tells himself he is happy when around Estella when in
actuality he suffers even at the thought of her. ..Estella being in it. I thought that with her I could have

Vegetarianism Vs Buddhism Essay Buddhism is a religion with many different beliefs, traditions, and spiritual practices, founded in ancient India in the sixth century by Siddhartha Gautama (Buddha). It spread through much of Asia and later declined to India. Some of the of Buddhist philosophies are: The Four Noble Truths, the Noble Eightfold Path and The Five Precept, Unsatisfactoriness. • 3. The Revolutionary Armed Forces Of Colombia ( Farc ) Essay 1. The shifting landscape that Welch speaks of refers to a global political shift where power has moved from the central institutions to smaller, intrastate actors. Interstate wars have declined sharply in number since the end of World War II. The rise of nongovernmental and international organizations, the establishment of cooperation agreements and confidence building measures, and the increasing presence of the news media, are all elements that have relegated traditional wars to a thing of the past. These non state actors can be terrorist groups, guerrillas, organized crime networks or even a combination of state and non state actors. The majority of the groups work underneath larger networks whose goal is the conquest of local or national sovereignty for example, the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC). They try to acquire the attributes of the State, through violence, corruption, ideological persuasion or political subversion. They look to take over a territory and its population in order to set up their political, military, and social institutions. They use oppressive methods to fulfill their aim. Smaller networks do not always want to overthrow the State, but to substitute their form of governance to meet their goals. The forces, national or international, that have been assembled to quell these types of threats are usually more powerful than the organizations they are trying to defeat. Conversely, non state actors attempt to develop alliances with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The origin of the name is in the surcoat, the cloth tunic worn over the to shield it from the sun s rays. A coat of arms can also be called a family crest, if it is passed down generations. A family crest has a motto, four symbols, and a family name. Three things that I put on my family crest are an elephant, a cross, and a flower. One thing that I put on my family crest is an elephant. When I was a junior high school, I played Kendo. When I was a high school student, I played Kyudo. From these experiences, I was very impressed with Japanese culture because I could understand how Japanese culture thinks and cares other people. For example in Kendo and Kyudo, even if I win the game, I do not have to show my feeling to the others. The reason of this is to respect and appreciate an opponent. I think it is very important thing as a human. Everyone cannot live alone so we need to live with supporting each other. To support each other, that spirit will be needed. That is why I love ... Second reason is that I wanted to have more friends through the class. I am not good at communicating with people so I do not have so many friends. However, I thought I could make friends by drinking green tea because I think one of the purposes of tea ceremony is to meet new friends. That is why I took this class with believing to be able to have new friends. As a result, I could have many new friends and they are all kind people. As I expected, tea ceremony was the place, which gives the wonderful encounter. Moreover, I could really enjoy this class with other students. Third reason is that I want to make green tea to my mother. When I was a young, she took me to the tea ceremony many times. Therefore I could know how beautiful Japanese culture is and how elegant tea ceremony is. If I did not experience tea ceremony, I would not recognize the wonderfulness of Japanese culture and choose this university APU. Therefore I can have a good experience in APU now. • 6. Foreign Bank Entry Effect On Domestic Banking Essay CHAPTER 2 LITERATURE REVIEW 2.1 Introduction The study of foreign bank entry effect towards domestic banking in Malaysia in term of long term loan is an important tool to evaluate the difference between foreign bank and domestic bank in Malaysia. Other than that, it is also important to determine management planning and strategic analysis. Banks contribute to economic growth, so if the bank performance is outstanding, the overall economy will be strong. There are few studies have discussed the similar topic. Therefore, some of the articles are selected as a references. Ben Ukaegbu and Isaiah Oino (2014) conduct a comprehensive field of study on the impact of foreign bank entry on domestic banking in a developing country from the perspective of Kenyan. Using 19 banks level data from 2001 to 2009, the authors examine the penetration of foreign banks into Kenya and the impact on domestic banking operations. Objective of their study is to examine the impact of foreign bank entry on domestic banking and to evaluate how the entry of foreign impacts access to credit. The study used percentage of foreign banks as a dependent variable which may influence the independent variables such as profitability of domestic bank, net interest margin, loan loss reserve ratio, cost income ratio, Tier 1 capital, average lending rate, private credit to gross domestic product, inflation and percentage of non performing loan of domestic banks. This theory asserts that learning is a cognitive process that takes place in a social context and can occur purely through observation or direct instruction, even in the absence of motor reproduction or direct reinforcement. I observed two young, caucasian boys at a shopping mall. The purpose of this paper is to use the course material from my PSY 335 course and applicate it to the real world through this observation. During the class presentation by Dr. Felver on Septmeber 7th, the Social Learning Theory was discussed. The boy first saw the other boy whom we can assume was his brother or friend doing this behavior and then initiated the same behavior. Besides this, the young boy also showed characteristics of this theory in the beginning when he pointed at the carousel and said horsee, shortly after it was said after the other boy. Bandura s theory stressed that one can acquire a wide range of behaviors and thoughts through observing others behaviors. In this case, one boy observed the other boy point at the carousel, say horsee, and repeated the same behavior. Similarly, while riding the carousel, the boy observed the other boy making clicking noises with his tongue and saying neigh, neigh, and repeated the same behavior. This can be classified as cognitive, observational learning. Bandura s most recent model of learning and development, highlights three elements; behavior, the person/cognition, and the environment. An individual s confidence, the fact that he can control his success is an example of the person factor. The strategies he uses are examples of cognitive factors. Behavior, cognitive and environmental factors are interactive. Behavior can influence cognitive and environmental factors and vice versa. (References to this study should include the foregoing statement.) iii ABSTRACT DEFINING ISLAMIC WAY OF WARFARE AND ITS COMPARISON WITH AL QAEDA DOCTRINE, by Major Intekhab Haider Khan, 85 pages. With the rise of Al Qaeda and like minded militant groups, there have been many discussions and misrepresentations of the term Islamic way of warfare. It is important to understand that anything, to be qualified as Islamic, has to have a reference from the core sources of Islam, i.e. the Quran, and the practices and sayings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This research is focused to define an Islamic way of warfare based on these fundamental sources, with a view to identifying whether Al Qaeda is truly Islamic or not. This thesis identifies that Islam does not dictate minor tactical matters of warfare, rather focuses its guidance on warfare in two broad categories: the just cause for waging war, and limited restrictions on conduct during the war. ... The federal courts deal with Cases that deal with the constitutionality of a law; Cases involving the laws and treaties ; Cases involving ambassadors and public ministers; Disputes between states; Admiralty law;Bankruptcy; and Habeas corpus issues (uscourts.gov). State courts will hear most criminal cases, probate, contract cases, personal injury cases, and family law. The Supreme Courts may choose not to hear or to hear these cases (uscourts.gov). One of the most famous kidnapping cases of all time would be the baby Lindbergh kidnapping case of 1932. Charles Augustus Lindbergh, Jr., 20 month old son of the famous aviator and Anne Morrow Lindbergh, was kidnapped on March 1, 1932, from the nursery of the Lindbergh home near Hopewell, New Jersey. The Hopewell police were notified, and the New Jersey State Police assumed charge of the investigation. After a while a second ransom note was received demanding that the ransom was increased to $70,000 (The Lindbergh Kidnapping. n.d.). Patterns from the past, for example, military coats or studs and spikes or splendid hues and dynamic patters have done a full circle and are back on pattern today. As more American ladies entered the military or took regular citizen employments in industry to bear on the work of men who had gone off to war; ladies needed designs that were less frilly and more suitable for work. They likewise needed apparel styles like the outfits worn by their men. When all is said in done ladies apparel got to be uninteresting and viable and limited however most importantly; utilitarian. There was little frill on the first things in light of the fact that beautification obliged extra fabric and materials. However ladies as often as possible connected their frill: like bows and periphery; to emerge in a swarm. • 23. Childhood Observation Report The day is Thursday, March 16. I am at the Child Discovery Center, observing Josiah, age 8. Josiah is part of the after school program, in room 1. The observation takes place outside, on the school s playground. The time is 4:30 pm. Josiah starts to play a game of leprechaun tag , and he is it. He begins to run after two other girls, his arms are lifted at his sides as he pumps them back and forth, and he is running at a moderate pace. He is not as fast as the other children playing. While he is chasing the girls, he comes up to a small wall. He extends his right foot, landing it on the wall, then pushing off in one swift motion. He continues to run after the girls for a few minutes, chasing them around the playground and avoiding objects and people. Josiah slows down to a walk, arms resting at his ... The book also states that children at this age should have smooth and controlled movements. Josiah s movements were all smooth, there wasn t a time where he struggled to do something. On the other hand, Microsoft had the least amount of total revenue but paid the highest amount in audit fees. Also, Apple Inc. had the median amount of revenue but paid the least amount in audit fees. When looking at the total assets, there is an inverse relationship between the amount of assets and the audit fees paid. The Influence Of Friday Night Lights On Football Culture The main idea of this paper is to introduce you to what really happens as a high school athlete and the things you learn along the way. High school sports is way more than just playing the sport, it shows you what you are really made of and how to handle problems life is going to throw at you. The adversity you face as an athlete carries over to real world problems and you have been there and done that, so handling adversity is second nature. This information comes from all my coaches, myself and Friday Night Lights. I feel I have already grown as a person by competing in athletics and calling other people my brothers. Not only from his family, but his football family too. The football family along with his real family would be there with him through all the ups and downs. Not just for a month, but for his whole life. Football culture creates a bond that can never be broken and Friday Night Lights did a bad job of showing that truth, but in other cases, Friday Night Lights did an amazing job by showing the truth of football culture by how they handle adversity. Adversity is everywhere and can hit you at any time of the day and any day in the year. As adversity hit the star Running Back Dash, he folded it up and called it quits. He was going to be a gangster and play the streets game, but something changed inside of Dash. After the abuse charges and numerous of injuries he could not quit, he worked harder than he has ever worked before. He pushed himself to the limit and got that scholarship he dreamed of getting. You might ask what changed inside of Dash, and that answer is his coach. His coach walked to his house and told him how it was, he saw great talent and a great young man. All Dash needed was a reminder and throughout all the problems that have been explained in this paper you always need that back bone of advice and Friday Night Lights did a fantastic job of proving that. • 30. Should Sports And The Athletes From A Financial Perspective To Pay or Not to Pay Athletics have always been a huge part of my life. For as long as I can remember I have been throwing a ball, catching a ball, racing, competing, you name it. This led me to so many great opportunities in my life. I played on a state championship football team in high school, I had the opportunity to play college football, and I formed relationships that will no doubt last me a lifetime. So yes, it is near and dear to my heart. Thus, I pay serious attention to things that often go on in the world of sports, some that are more important than others. The hot button issue when it comes to college athletics today is the relationship between the schools and the athletes from a financial perspective. When I first started hearing about it, I can honestly say that I did not know too much about the subject. There are a lot of economics and business concepts and terms that were a foreign language to me. As I continued to research, I became fascinated with both sides of this issue which have credible arguments. On one side of it, there are pundits who will be the first to say we should not pay these athletes for a myriad of reasons that I will go into as I progress. The other side says that the current system is nothing short of exploitation on the highest level that these athletes are not being properly compensated for what they endure day in and day out. This is a delicate issue that is becoming more and more of a focal point throughout the country. The myth ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
