We wanted our retelling of Peter Pan to challenge the idea of protagonists and
antagonists in fairytales. There is an obvious antagonist in Peter Pan named Captain
Hook. Captain Hook is known for his hook prosthetic on one of his hands, and the
reason Captain Hook must use a hook as a prosthetic is because Peter Pan, the
protagonist, cut off Captain Hook s hand and fed it to an alligator. Many readers

images to go along with our slogan for our series of social issue posters. We used
images from the story that conveyed the character flaws of the three chosen
characters, and then photoshopped the infamous hook prosthetic on to the hand of

An important factor, which contributed to the Zoot Suit Riots, was the influence of the
media. Newspapers and propaganda began to detriment the appearance of Pachucos
and zoot suits. This dynamic added to the strong anti Mexican sentiment, and led to
the spread of hysteria during the war. In addition, the encouragement from the Los
Angeles Police Department (LAPD), as well as the presence of the servicemen in Los

Archaeology is flawed and that we must look at approaches used before its adoption
and integrate parts of those approaches into the study of archaeology. He points out
that Symbols in Action helped him to develop three ideas regarding how to do this.
First, we must consider that material culture has meaning. Second, that the individual
is important to the development of theory in archaeology; and finally that archaeology
is most closely related to history and should consider that in its approach. In looking
at meaning in material culture Hodder brings up how ethnographic work showed that,
contrary to previous belief, interaction between cultures could actually lead to a more
marked difference in their pottery styles. He also referenced burial practices and

diabetes prevention programs. Also, the grantee conducted site visits to the sites to
discuss progress of the current work and plans and renewing the contract for the
next grant year. For the amended contract, the 2 1 1 site will focus on increasing
awareness about prediabetes to patients and providers focused on primary care. This
work will include the distributing the AMA/ CDC Provider toolkit and the use of the
CDC and risk test.

Personal Note On Leadership And Management
Theme 1 1.Leadership and Management
The Experience(s) After this lecture I could reanalyze my previous experience as
buyer, where the company use to incentive each Procurement Professional to be a
leader of their Families . As buyer I did not use just to buy, but lead all strategy
about the purchase of that segment for whole company in the country, even I was not
a manager. This was a great experience. Moreover, as part of the strategy, we had to
interact to the leaders (internal clients) of another department to develop better
strategies.
Your Feelings emotional response to it
I feel, although we should not allow emotional to influence in our work, to use or
manage well emotion it is part of a good leader s skill.

Future Application? I intend to evaluate my own capacity as leader and manager in
my next experience. Analyzing each point of strength and weakness for both
leadership and management skill also how can I improve it, balance it and apply

The Experience(s):
Leadership is a difficult discussion even nowadays, because there is not just one
conclusion, but a combination and variations of that.
An important question about leadership if a Leader is born with this capacity or
develop this and how is the process to reach that. As per Yukl (2006) for example
attributes such personality, values and skill for a Leader, reinforcing the idea of
Natural Leaders , or trait approach.
Also there is a vast of studies proposing to explain the qualities and characteristic of
Leader and a good Leader in diverse sectors, but it is not conclusive, because the
competencies of a Leader will be influenced by the environment in which the person
is inserted. Ellemers et al. (2004) and Haslam (2004) defend the idea of the positive
impact in the followers when the leader creates a mutual identity with your group.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Dating all the way back to ancient Buddhist and Yogi practices, Mindfulness Based
Therapy (MBT) has been implemented to treat anxiety and mood based disorders
(Hofmann, 2010). Mindfulness is a process that leads a specific mental state where
there is a nonjudgmental awareness of what is going inside and outside of the
person who is having the experience (Hofmann, 2010). Anxiety is a mental disorder
that keeps a person in a constant state of worry, nervousness, and unease. This
disorder can cause many disruptions in a person s life like being unable to properly
communication with another person. Alternatively, anxiety can be as extreme as
being afraid to leave the house for months at a time. The purpose of this study would

Glossophobia Is The Fear Of Public Speaking
Importance of Communication
Glossophobia is the fear of public speaking. The average person ranks the fear of
public speaking higher than the fear of death. According to the National Institute of
Mental Health over 74% of people suffer from speech anxiety (Brain, 2016) . This is
a sad statistic being that communication is the backbone of our society. It is what
allows us to connect with others. Without communication skills, we would not be
able to form relationships, whether in our personal or professional lives. We, as a
society, tend to think that communication is only verbal. However, communication
includes nonverbal, written, even listening, as well as our body language. In fact,
over 70% of our communication is nonverbal. In this class I hope to improve on my
interpersonal communication by learning ways to overcome my fear and setting new
standards in the way I communicate with others. In my personal life, improper
communication has led to more than one situation that caused hurt to someone I love.
Likewise, I have been on the receiving end of hurt directly as a result of poor
communication.
Currently, if I were to rank my comfortability in speaking in front of the class, I
would say it would be a 4 out of 10. I know many people would think it would be
higher, but the fact of the matter is I have an anxiety when it comes to public
speaking. Being an extroverted personality often leads people to believe I would
have no problem speaking in public, but when the spotlight is on, it is an entirely
different story. The moment I know I must get up in front of a group of people, I
start to feel dread, my stomach goes into knots, my heart starts to race, and my
palms get clammy. I always try to be the first speaker so that these feelings of
dread can disappear sooner than later. Ironically, after I finish speaking (assuming it
went well) I feel a sense of accomplishment. There is a remarkable sense of pride
that comes with effectively communicating to your peers and being well received.
My hope is that by taking this Communication 100, I will find new ways to
effectively communicate, which will not only help me grow as a person, but will
further my success in the competitive job market. Some of the
