1. How the final version differs from
the final attempt

2. First Attempt
This is the first attempt of the magazine. We
received some very useful feedback from our
audience on how to improve the cover. It looks
really plain and there’s not enough
detail/information used in order to entice and
keep the reader engaged the reader. Most
people would have a quick glance at the cover
and walk away, as there is not much on the
magazine for them to read. The image is the
main focus which was edited on Photoshop by
removing the background and brightening the
face, so the audience are able to clearly see her
saddened face on the black background. Also,
there is not enough eye catching colours used to
grab the reader’s attention.
3. Final Attempt
The final attempt of our magazine has significantly improved from the
first attempt. We added more effective conventions. This includes, the
left third and pull sticker, which made the cover look detailed and
informative This will attract the target audience’s attention and instead
of having a quick glance, they will stop by and read the information
provided which will then make them want to buy the magazine
(persuasive technique). We changed the colour for “2015 preview” from
white to yellow so that people from quite far back will be able to read it
as it is an eye catching colour, and to also link it with the title of the film
Deception. We changed the layout of the quote by placing it above the
title in a different font style to make it look like a quote. We also
changed the the colour from red to white so that the target audience
give full attention focal points of the cover. The colour of the text on the
right side changed to a red and white heaing with black and grey sub
headings to make it appear more visible and easy to read. These
colours are also eyecatching.
To conclude, the changes made to the final attempt to the magazine
makes the cover look complete, professional and a lot like a crime
