2. MAIN IMAGE
The main image is very
big and inviting,
standing out in
comparison to
everything else on the
front cover. The models
head overtakes the
masthead, showing her
importance. The model
is smiling which makes
the magazine seem
rather friendly and
welcoming to readers.
The model is also very
well-known, attracting
her fans.
MASTHEAD
The masthead is
rather large and
colourful.
However, the
models head is
placed in front so
we can not see the
whole name of the
magazine, this
shows the model is
more important.
This stops the
masthead from
standing out as
much as other
magazines.
Barcode – going against
typical conventions of
barcodes being placed in
the bottom left-hand
corner, this barcode is in
the bottom right-hand
corner.
COLOUR SCHEME
The colour scheme in this magazine seems to be pink, white and
black. I think that these colours go together as rather girly, giving
away the target audience straight away. I like how two different
tones of pink have been used so it is not just the same shade
repeatedly. The models clothing is also closely linked to the colour
scheme.

TITLE
The title on the contents
page is very big and very
bold but is once again
slightly hid behind the
head of the model. So
although the title does
stand out, it doesn’t
stand out as much as it
would if it was fully
shown.
MAIN IMAGE
The importance of the
model on the main
image is instantly shown
as her head covers the
title. This is a very well
known actress which
could attract a larger
audience of a wider
range as her fans will be
interested in the article
based on her.
This contents page gives an ‘offer’ to the
readers. This could persuade them to
buy this magazine more often to see
what other offers are available.
COLOUR SCHEME
The colour scheme of
black and white is
very simple and plain,
but does give off a
sort of mature and
professional tone to
the page.
ARTICLES & PAGES
I like how the contents
page has separated
the articles that were
shown on the front
cover and the ones
that were not. The
page numbers are
bigger and bolder
than the rest of the
text.

I like how this
double page
spread consists of
many different
and interesting
images. This
could make the
article more
attractive to a
reader who
doesn't’t like to
read a lot. It also
shows us how the
makeup looks on
a range of
different people
which could
persuade readers
to buy these
brands of
makeup, for filling
the purpose of
the article.

This pulls out a
quote from the
article which
may attract the
reader into
reading the rest
of the article.
ARTICLE TITLE
I like how part of
the title of the
article is bigger
and bolder than
the rest, this is
rather eye
catching and
stands out in
comparison to
the rest of the
text shown
throughout the
page.
Not only are there images of the
models with the makeup on,
there are images of what the
makeup looks like which could
help the reader if they were
looking to purchase the item.
I like how there
explanations on
each image of
what is being
shown within the
image.
