My Hometown Essay
Crafting an essay on the subject of "My Hometown" may seem deceptively simple at first
glance, as the topic revolves around personal experiences and memories. However, the difficulty
lies in transforming these familiar aspects into a compelling narrative that captivates the reader.
One challenge is striking the right balance between nostalgia and objectivity. It's easy to fall into
the trap of overly romanticizing or exaggerating the positive aspects of one's hometown,
neglecting the nuances that make the essay authentic. Conversely, maintaining objectivity can be
tricky, as personal biases and emotions inevitably color the narrative.
Another hurdle is finding a unique angle or perspective that sets the essay apart. Given the broad
nature of the topic, many individuals may share similar memories of growing up or exploring
their hometowns. Crafting an essay that stands out requires delving into personal anecdotes,
specific details, and unique experiences that make the hometown narrative distinctive.
The challenge extends to maintaining a coherent structure and flow throughout the essay.
Seamlessly transitioning between different aspects of the hometown—be it landmarks,
community, or personal growth—requires careful planning and organization. Without a well-
crafted structure, the essay risks becoming a disjointed collection of memories rather than a
cohesive story.
Furthermore, the process involves the delicate task of conveying emotions effectively. Describing
the sentimental value of certain places or the impact of the hometown on personal development
demands a nuanced approach to language and expression. Striking this emotional chord without
veering into melodrama can be demanding but is crucial for connecting with the reader.
In conclusion, despite the seemingly straightforward nature of a "My Hometown" essay, the
difficulty lies in weaving a narrative that balances nostalgia, objectivity, uniqueness, coherence,
and emotional resonance. It's an intricate dance that requires both introspection and skilled
storytelling to transform a familiar topic into a compelling piece of writing.

Zachary Crockett Bowling
Zachary Crockett published the article The Rise and Fall of Professional Bowling
in March of 2014 in order to inform readers about the history of professional
bowling. Currently, the Professional Bowlers Association, or PBA, is facing an
extreme decline in popularity mainly due to low funds. Even though there are
many people who love the sport of bowling and support the professionals, the sport
as a whole is on a decline. In the article, Crockett basically talks about the entire
history of bowling. In the second half of the article though, he heavily analyzes the
fall of bowling starting in the 1980s and what the professional tour needs to succeed
again. This article is ideal for writing a research paper on why professional bowling
has fallen... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The article provides necessary background information on the sport for readers
who do not know what they are reading about and it follows in a logical order.
Also, he provides different types of evidence throughout the article to back up
what he is saying including analyzing numbers and interviewing professional
bowlers. Crockett is an author who has clearly done enough research on what he is
talking about to be credible. This article is a great start to doing a research paper
into the fall of professional bowling. It has sparked my interest in the topic even
more than before I read it. If I do future research into the topic, I will definitely use

Ntb Airplane Failure
Weather is possibly the biggest X factors affecting a pilot in flight. According to a
2014 Airplane Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) Report (NTSB
DEN06LA036), approximately 4% of general aviation accidents are weather related,
yet these accidents account for more than 25% of all fatalities. Unintended flight in
to IMC is probably one of the most confusing, perilous, and challenging situations a
pilot can go through. On 25 January 2006, a pilot crashed his recently purchased
Cessna 172C while ferrying it from Arkansas to his home base in Richfield, Utah after
encountering instrument meteorological conditions (IMC) while flying via visual
flight rules(VFR). The airplane suffered extensive damage when it collided with
numerous trees... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Understanding your abilities, good flight planning, and thorough preparation for the
flight are a few ways to combat get there it is. Situational awareness is a
cornerstone for good quality airmanship and entails solid decision making, knowing
what information is significant, and why that information is significant. Using
proper scan techniques such as the T scan or wagon wheel scan can help a pilot
maintain their situational awareness. Weather is something often glanced over
during flight planning. Especially if the weather is good or fair. Weather should
always be a focal point during flight planning however, it becomes even more
important when planning a cross country flight. If a pilot plans a flight toward a low
or a front, they should expect the weather to most likely deteriorate the closer they
get to the low or front. Turbulence should also be expected as the flight nears the
frontal area, particularly at lower
Racial Segregation And The War Industry
As I see in the cartoons, there were race issues going on with blacks and jews being
slaved by someone who discriminates against employees. In the I ll Run
Democracy, 1942 picture the man told them to stay in there Jim Crow tanks. Jim
Crow laws were state and local laws enforcing racial segregation. The laws let
discrimination and segregation keeps blacks and jews from getting jobs. In the
other two pictures Listen Maestro and German Manicure you see Uncle Sam telling
the war industry to keep making the blacks and whites work together to create a
good sound. which came in context when he told him to keep playing them. The
German Manicure picture showed Sam going to get his hand cut off by the U.S.
Nazis and Anti semitism means they don t like jews. All of this was going on
internally that led to these other issues.
After WW II, Fascism, Instituted in Germany by Hitler (America a Concise

they were the superior race. Fascism came about in Italy in the years of 1920, but
developed in the countries Germany, Spain, and France (America a Concise

an economic downfall so Mussolini decided to take it upon himself along with Adolf

Renaissance Dbq Essay
The Renaissance was a period of time when Europeans experienced a shift in
thinking. This rebirth led to a time of creativity in which they began to think outside
the box instead of inside. It sprouted from the Dark Ages and led to the modern era.
During the Renaissance, the Europeans began to adopt a new way of thinking that
included the increasing presence of art and the idea of individualism, the decline in
the significance of the Church, and the arising of the importance of education. The
Renaissancewas a great time of change that shaped the way that Europeans perceived
their surroundings and the world.
Many famous artists, such as Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo, contributed to the
revolutionary art of the Renaissance. Unlike in ... Show more content on

The Bible was only available in Latin, and Church officials were able to manipulate
believers of the religion since they were at a disadvantage. In Document 8, A.J.
Froude said that religion only cares about money. Additionally, in Document 9, W.H.
Draper said that people should find grace and glory in Earth, not just heaven. These
documents demonstrate that religion was not considered 100% positive; instead, it
also carried a negative connotation. Europeans were beginning to turn away from
religion because it seemed to be becoming more scheming. Rather than only thinking
inside of the box, the Renaissance promoted thinking outside of it. People thought
less about religion and thought more about themselves and their surroundings. A
piece of artwork that shows this is the Madonna by Raphael. Comparable to The
Creation of Adam, Raphael s artwork illustrated the philosophy of art and the human
individual. It stepped away from halos and heavenly beings, and gave viewers a
sense of realism. During the Medieval Ages the Church was considered to be reliable;
however, during the Renaissance the way of thinking changed, and the Church was
challenged to adapt to this change. With the idea of individualism and humanism, the
Europeans no longer needed to rely on the

How much impact did youth culture have on society in the years 1955 75?
This particular period of time was very significant in terms of general changes in
society given the post war baby boom, abolition of the death penalty, improved
reproduction rights for women, peaks in the number of university attendees, sexual
revolution which saw strident action towards female liberation and equality, an influx
of immigrants from the Caribbean and South Asia, periods of economic booms and
busts and new found openness of sex, sexuality, drug use and freedom of expression
in fashion and music which was largely unprecedented. The question however is, how

Some said her act was merely self defence and that she was brave to fight back.
There were a lot of factors which affected women s employment in Britain in the
1950s and 1960s such as social attitudes towards the family. Many people were
traditional and saw women who worked to be selfish and neglecting their
responsibilities in the home. Many working class women could not afford child
minders and therefore relied on family and friends. Also, nursery education was
expensive thus only an option for wealthier families. Women also had limited
education; with limited educational opportunities for girl s women were restricted
to lower paid employment as they required fewer skills. In the 1960s only 15% of
doctors and 5% of the law profession were women and 80% of all factories,
secretarial and shop work was done by women. There was also lack of government
legalisation. Employers were reluctant to appoint women to responsible positions as
they thought they would get married and leave. Also when women had the same job
as men they were often paid lower. Employers argued that many women returning to
work will work less hours and want a lot of time off due to their family.
Gender became very significant during this period with women and girls becoming
radicalised. One of the ways women began to express
Shinden Zukuri Architectural Style
Before the beginning of the Heian Period in Japan, Tang China had been influencing
Japanese culture greatly until the An Lushan rebellion debilitated the economy.
Japan shut itself off from other countries and shunned China because of this
cataclysm; they also began to cultivate their own culture. One product of this new
isolation was Shinden Zukuri, a Japanese architectural style used during the Heian
period (794 1185). In this style, one story buildings and corridors were always made
of wood, never stone. The primary building, the Shinden, faced South and functioned
as the sleeping quarters for the residents of the house. The complex also had up to
three opposing buildings known as Tai no ya that were on the North, East, and West
of the Shinden. The Tai no ya were extra rooms... Show more content on

In the Wikipedia article called Japanese housing written in March 28, 2018, it states
that there was no designated use for a room except for the Genkan (shoe room),
toilet, and Ofuro (bath). Any room can easily be transformed into the desired size
using fusuma, sliding doors that create rooms when needed. This shows that the
Japanese value flexibility because of the many ways you can arrange a Japanese
house. In the article Shinden Zukuri Estates of the Heian Period written by Anthony
Bryant, it says that the undeveloped space between two rooms or in the main
courtyard was often filled with nature. They placed one dominant tree, smaller trees,
and an artificial pond in the open space. Women were named after the dominant tree
in the area that their pavilion faced. This demonstrates the fact that the Japanese
value nature greatly in their homes and even name people after trees on the property.
Shinden Zukuri values both nature and flexibility because of ponds and trees that
they add to the home for decoration and the fusuma screens that allow for the
transfiguration of rooms at
Characteristics Of A Modern Day Hero
A doctor, a father, and, most importantly, a hero. Someone I would consider a
modern day hero is Derek Shephard, from the TV show GreyВґs Anatomy . A hero is
someone who is able to help others without any interest that would benefit him/her
behind his actions Derek is a perfect example of a modern day hero. He is selfless and
works as a doctor with the main goal of helping others. Right before a surgery he
says to everyone in the OR: Today is a beautiful day to save lives. Derek is worthy of
the title of a modern day hero because of all his good and selfless actions towards
the others. What is a modern day hero exactly? In order to understand a modern day
hero, think about the characteristics of a classical and epic hero. A classical heroes...

As I said before, he is a person you can bump into easily in your life. He takes care
of his family and takes care of other people too in his job as a doctor. Chief of
neurosurgery at Seattle Grace Hospital/ Grey + Sloan Memorial Hospital, Derek
has to be brave and smart to look after every patient he has. Braveness and
intelligence are characteristics he has that match the ones classical and epic
heroes have. Even though his challenges are not fighting monsters, he has some
pretty hard challenges like saving a woman from a big aneurism in her brain, and
the only powers he has are his skills with a scalpel in hand. Derek does not fit
perfectly the Hero s Journey idea, but he does match it in some aspects. For
example, during his last episode, Derek faces one of his major trials when he
saves over three people on the side of an empty highway after these three people
suffered a car accident. However, right after that, crisis comes and he is hit by the
ambulance he called to take the people he saved, from the highway to a hospital.
Derek faces death as a consequence, however he does not come back to life, because
he is not a classical hero with superhuman characteristics, but a simple
The Philosophy Of Leadership And Leadership
1.Leadership is defined on Merriam Webster.com as the power or ability to lead
other people . This definition is weak at best. Throughout my career, I have
witnessed this form of leadership applying control of power, simply leading by
giving direction, guidelines and instruction. There never seemed to be any care for
if they were actually inspiring the next generation to follow in their footsteps. This
seems counterproductive at best. In my experience, I have found that I always
worked harder for and trusted more in a leader who I was able to connect with,
admire, or look up to. Recognition from an admired leader inspired me to do more.
So my philosophy on leadershipis: Inspire those around you by respecting them,
giving recognition, coachingand finally lead by example.
2.The philosophy of leadership I strive for can be defined as inspirational in type.
One of the greatest things about this philosophy style is that it creates trust among
everyone. When I was a young seaman on the Coast Guard Cutter Sedge, I was not
among this idealized example of inspirational leadership. We were often broken
down by superiors with derogatory name calling or negative motivation. At no time
during my 2 years aboard can I remember a time when I admired the leadership. It
was simply getting the work done while being called names or be insubordinate. It
was an unfortunate situation. No trust was ever instilled in leadership because of
this. As long as leadership continued

Types of Attention Related Disorders
Attentional disorders and deficits are classified as neurological diseases that can
result from congenital factors, as well as, head traumas and damages in the brain.
There are other types of attention related disorders that can be categorized in terms of
physiology, which include those associated with frontal cortical processing, parietal
cortical processing, and the undetermined.
The disorders linked to frontal cortical processing include: Frontal Lobe Disorder and
Frontal Lobe Epilepsy. These disorders are caused by impairment of the frontal lobe
region of the brain due to disease or severe head trauma linking to attentional deficits
in higher level processing and difficulties in focusing.
Frontal Lobe Epilepsy is a neurological disorder that that is caused by recurring
seizures in the frontal lobes of the brain, which can cause problems in learning
affecting motor coordination, planning and attention span. Both frontal lobe disorder
and epilepsy are prone to attentional impairment and difficulties of concentration.
The disorders that are connected to parietal cortical processing include: Attentional
Dyslexia, Balint s Syndrome (Optic Ataxia, Ocular Apraxia, and Simultagnosia),
Hemispatial Hemianopia Neglect (Anosognosia), and Somatoparaphrenia. These
disorders are linked to impairment in the parietal cortical area of the brain and are
linked to deficits in spatial attention, attentional shifting and concentration.
Attentional dyslexia is caused by parietal damage

Timing In Romeo And Juliet
Timing in Shakespeare Death can occur in a matter of seconds, as time
accumulates anything is possible. In the play, The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet
by William Shakespeare, two star crossed lovers take their lives in despair due to a
series of events led by a long feud between the Capulets and Montagues. Timing is
very crucial when it comes to Romeo and Juliet. If many situations were avoided
such as the confrontation between Tybalt and Mercutio, the wedding being pushed
up a day earlier and Juliet waking up five minutes before Romeo got to the cell, and
issues like this would have caused the play to end differently. In Act Three of the
play, timing ties in because if Mercutio and Tybalt weren t at the town square at the
same time, Mercutio
The Skull Base
Discussion: Chordomas of the skull base represent significant challenges due to their
midline position and their ability to engulf critical neurovascular structures located
around them. In addition to these location issues, their biology represents significant
challenges, as notocordal rests located throughout the clivus, often remote from the
visible lesion, have the propensity to grow and recur. Both of these features are
critical for the skullbase surgeon, the former in determining the surgical approach and
trajectory and the latter in deciding on the surgical goals and intentions of treatment.
For more than a decade, lateral and paramedian approaches have been traditionally
the mainstay for surgical access and have provided valuable corridors. These have
included transbasal (12), trans septal trans sphenoidal (13), transmaxillary (14), facial
translocation, (15), transoral with or without mandible split (16), transcervical
transclival, and anterior cervical approaches. These anterior and lateral approaches
toward a centrally located chordomacarry the potential morbidity of manipulating
neurovascular structures in the way to lesion. The cited data report gross total
resection rates that vary widely, ranging from 44 to 83%. The corresponding
neurological morbidity rates are equally variable, ranging from 0 to 80%, and
vascular injuries are reported at 9 to 12%. CSF leak rates are reported to range from
8.3 to 30% (17 19). In an attempt to reduce these
Amasis Treating Dionysus
In The Amasis Painter and his world: vase painting in sixth century B.C. Athens,
Dietrich Von Bothmer argues that Dionysos is one of the most used gods that the
Amasis Painter painted . He follows this argument with bringing up that the Amasis
Painter painted Dionysus more than 20 times. The 20 paintings prove that the Amasis
Painter has some connection with Dionysus. With this said, this paper explores why
the Amasis Painter paints Dionysus, examples of these paintings, and details of the
paintings.
Our journey begins when the Amasis Painter starts painting at the end of the sixth
century. The Amasis Painter paints on small and large vessels. He starts with attic
black figure vase painting that was first produced in Corinth around 700 B.C. Attic
black figure vase painting depicts animals and human silhouette figures in a
naturalistic detail. Additionally, attic black figure vases have vessel borders and
edges that are decorated with floral, lotus, and palmette designs. The Amasis Painter
includes these details to every vase and sometimes adds white to his paintings.
The Amasis Painter paints two scenes that involve Dionysus on one panel amphora
(Fig.1, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first thing I notice that both the figures are made out of ceramic. In Figure 3,
Dionysus is in the middle and the four youths are around him. The panel amphora
has all dark colors, but Dionysus clothes are white just like both figures before.
The Amasis Painter could have given him a different color outfit to make him
stand out more since the youths clothes are very similar to his. Dionysus is
holding a drinking horn in his left hand, and wearing a long chiton and a mantle
draped over his shoulders and arms. He is also wearing an ivy wreath on his head.
The man Dionysus is looking at has a spear and both dogs have a collar, but no leash.
These very small things show that the Amasis Painter pays attention to
Random Or Reactive Patrol
Random or reactive patrol occurs when someone calls for police help. This means
that the police will not respond until a call has been made requesting assistance. This
method of policing is not the most beneficial to the community because the crime
has already occurred opposed to being prevented. By the time the individual calls for
help and the amount of time it takes to arrive at the scene there is a possibility of the
suspect getting away.
As the Police Chief of Kansas, Community service and community participation is an
essential part of the police community relationship. The objective is to provide the
community with long lasting preventive patrol where they can learn how to live in a
safe environment and provide an outlet where people
The Emergence of a Young Girl into Womanhood
Across several different cultures, there are different ways in which people of a
community recognize the emergence of a young girl into womanhood. In the United
States the most common is the famous Sweet Sixteen which as in the name states:
relates to being sixteen years old, getting a car, and having some sort of celebration
to commemorate the birthday. Among others include the Quinceanera which is
usually equated with Mexico and Bat Mitzvahs which is a Jewish girl s rite of
passage. Another rite of passage, called Kinaalda, is a puberty ceremony that holds
the same importance and significance among the Navajo tribeas their creation story.
Unlike American society, during the people s lifetime there is not a time between
child and adult. In the Navajo culture it seems that it is more plausible to say that the
time between being a child and adult or as stated by Leighton and Kluckhohn (1947),
physical maturity and social maturity are more nearly coincidental. Meaning unlike
the American culture where the gap between childhood and adulthood is filled with
an adolescence, and in the Navajo tribe this gap is not prolonged and instead this
transition is commemorated by a four night ceremony. This process begins at the
Navajo girl s first menstruation and is a way to announce to the whole community
that she has become a woman. In earlier marriage customs, a year or so after the
ceremony the girl would be considered ready for marriage; as a result, some felt that
a girl s
Glanbia s Internal and External Environment
The Organisational Domain and The External Environment
An organisation s domain is its chosen environmental field of action. It is the territory
that the organisation stakes out for itself with regard to products, services and
markets served. This is also strongly affected by the organisation s external
environment. The external environment incorporates all the elements that exist
outside the boundary of the organisation and have the potential to affect all or part of
the organisation.
Task Environment:
The task environment includes external sectors with which the organisation interacts
with directly and that have a direct impact on the organisation s capability to
accomplish its objectives. Some of these sectors include:

The Beatles Influence On Music Essay
During the course, I was able to learn the various artists and their works that slowly
evolved into something extremely influential through different eras. Some artists
made songs that were personal and others made music based on making an impact
on the population. One song in particular that is personally the strongest lyrically
for influential action is The Beatles Revolution released in 1968. Considering how
huge they were during their time, the outcome of the people hearing that particular
song was at large and was at huge importance to the fans and unfortunate stance the
country was going through. This song was released on the Apple label and was
one of the bigger hits off the album. The Beatles influence on music was so huge
that even history books included their arrival to America and considered it as
turning point in the history of Rock. This song has a cold war focus although it
does get to mentions Vietnam. The Cold war had been going on during this era and
was the reason for the creation of the song. Anti war songs were a great statement to
make especially for a group with a magnitude as big as theirs. The... Show more

Billie Holiday released a song titled Strange Fruit which was extremely controversial.
I m sure Billie Holiday knew the controversy the song would bring and the large
amount of individuals that would hate it. Surprisingly, the outcome was in her favor

From the most common definition of Marketing, we can understand it in terms of

Even in my research, there is no formal prose claiming that Marketing creates needs
and wants. This observation stems from the fact that needs and wants are not always
simple. As stated by Kotler and Keller, some customers have needs that they are not
fully conscious of or that they cannot articulate. It gives the impression that there was
no need and want in the first place. With some research, marketers have defined those
needs and wants and produced products to satisfy them. Before the customers start
buying the products, it is also the job of the marketer to help the customer learn what
they want. These overwhelmed observers missed out on this process, thus, jumping
into conclusion that the need and want was created. References: http:/

Swimmeet-Personal Narrative
Next time you take your cousin with you to a competition you end up with sadness
and then joy(if you work hard enough). It was a Saturday morning. Michael woke
up from his bed at 6:00am, my cousin was staying over since the swimmeet was
closer. Alex who was really enthusiastic about the swimmeet(his first one by the
way) he was jumping all over the place, looking for his goggles. We ate breakfast,
Ella, my mom cooked corn beef hash some eggs and pancakes. Robert, my dad
who was also really excited about Alex s first swimmeet. (He used to swim in
college and his abs are still in shape by the way). Michael who was the youngest in
this mile swim team was extremely nervous. We had to board an airplane that took
about 5hrs to land. From Hawaii to California. We stayed in this hotel provided by
DACA.

the pool. My cousin looks at me with an excited smile. I smile back. Announcer:
Take your mark. BEEP! My cousin launched into the pool with energy. He got a 34

first event.
After I swam a mile, I was awfully exhausted. However My cousin when he looked
at the results he got disqualified for all of his races. My cousin was crying. He
went to my parents sorrowfully to tell him. Annabelle went up to congratulate me. I
said thanks. My cousin was still crying. I went to the snackbar and got two of those
very overpriced hotdogs 6 dollars each! I found out that my cousins coach was
working.
Me: Did you know why my brother got DQ?
Coach: Yes, he waited too long on the flip turn.
Me: Oh, is there any way we can fix it.
Coach: Yes if we talk to the official.

Identity Is Something We Search Essay
Identity
Identity is something we search for, something we want to find out about
ourselves. We want to know what we are here for and what s our purpose. Identity
is the way one sees themselves and our identity is all we have that s why we protect
it and always are trying to make ours better than the others. I believe college is a time
where we find our identity, maybe we have an idea on what it is going to be and
sometimes it takes us many years to figure it out. In Daniel Marks experience his
identity is going to take awhile for him to find if he doesn t change his ways.
Daniels before was very rough, he was in trouble a lot. He said he felt like a failure
to his father s standards. He enjoys partying very much, this has lead to him being a
poor student with a GPA below a 2.0. His study habits are very poor but he is
planning on going to college. His advisor told him he would fail out if he didn t
change his ways. After hearing all about daniel s story I would categorize him into
the Diffusion area. This is because he is just simply doesn t care, he lacks
motivation and is only doing enough to barely get by. I can avoid all of these
things by sticking to the things I ve been doing and to adjust and use the strategies
we have learned in U100. In Monica s story you hear about a lot of the things she
was going through in her first semester so it s pretty relatable. She tells us about how
her parents did not attend college, but she really wants to. She
Kamala In Hermann Hesse s Siddhartha
Kamala, is the main, and indeed, the only female main character in the novel
Siddhartha, by Hermann Hesse. Kamala, a wealthy courtesan, is the bridge between
the lay people reading the novel and the main character Siddhartha, who is more of a
holy man, than a relatable character. Kamala is a kind, yet selfish women who allows
for the reader to connect to Siddhartha, by making him more imperfect. Later in the
novel, even after Siddhartha has left town, she unintentionally brings Siddhartha, his
son, and again provokes him to react as an imperfect human rather than a holy man.
Thus, Kamala, while not necessarily a large character, she is integral to the plot and to
the reader s ability to connect to the novel. Siddhartha first meets Kamala after he
has just decided that he no longer wants to be an ascetic, and that he needs to try a
new way of life. He meets... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By requiring Siddhartha to work a job and earn money and achieve status, he again
becomes more relatable because these are all events, that we as modern Americans,
require or want. Further, Siddhartha develops what is essentially a friends with
benefits relationship with Kamala. While their relationship not necessarily romantic
is does resemble a more modern relationship dynamic. They both acknowledge that
they care for each other, even if they cannot love each other. Kamala said, ... You do
not really love me you love nobody. Is that not true? Maybe, said Siddhartha
wearily. I am like you. You cannot love either, otherwise how could you practice
love as an art? Perhaps people like us cannot love. Ordinary people can that is their
secret. (Hesse 73). While this does outline how they are different from regular or
normal people, it also establishes a weariness, or despondency at not being able to
love each other, something that is distinctly familiar, in a way that fairytale romances

Mental and Physical Health
Freud and Maslow, along with many others who have studied and are still studying
human behavior settle that mental health does affect physical health. People are
healthier when they have a higher self esteem; thus making negative people/ones
with low self esteem less healthy. Ever hear that stress wears down the body? It s
absolutely true! Stressing can cause problems and produces fear and anxiety. Stress
can grow a resistance to disease and can slowly decrease your health.
Sigmund Freud, 1856 1939, was an MD who specialized in neurology. Mental and
physical health combined was ignored until Freud began studying the issues. Once
psychoanalysis became popular, psychology and psychiatry began to turn away from
thinking people were abnormally ill and mental and tried to learn why about
conflicts leading to trauma and conflicts. Some of his views: there is a cause for all
human behavior and the goal of human behavior is tension reduction. Freud wanted
to understand anxiety and where it came from. He wanted to solve the symptoms.
Freud led to the psychological revolution.
Abraham Maslow was another significant person in the study of mental and physical
health. From his own experiences, he was able to understand the psychological
effects. His mother and father were not the best of parents. His mother was mean and
rude, while his father wasn t around very much. He was
The Importance Of Abolition Of A Penny
The United States maintains it s great strength, by preserving history and
recognizing special traditions. Many people don t even have to search anywhere,
just by basically looking down, or even driving a couple of miles, perhaps. From
museums, libraries, etc., to coins, such as a penny, holds the preservation of the
past. By having this preservations of traditions it continues it s magnitude of our
country. Although , it might seem worthless and just a loose of change , the use of
a penny is bendable through economic issues. It can help you pay odd numbers such
as .53 cents. The penny is a very essential item of an everyday life. When actually
coming through mind, the effort of abolition of the penny would be large and very
costly.

that I could go to, but, what caught my eye with Notre Dame is the fact that they

My uncle Jack is a lawyer, he went to Notre Dame and he told me that it was an

As the post colonial criticism developed, the theorists have agreed upon the fact that
the role of feminism in the post colonial practice is crucial. Moreover, these two
theories clearly have the same goals. On the one hand, the main objective of both of
them is to disclose the traditional power structures, both patriarchal and imperial. On
the other hand, both feminism and post colonial criticism aim to show the way the
writers challenge the respective forms of authority. The main concerns of the post
colonial criticism are the formation of canon, the phases through which imperialism

Water Quality Of Clean Drinking Water
It is a well known fact that the existence of water is critical to life on Earth. The
world has been set up in a way that makes mankind heavily dependent on water for
cultivation, sanitation, transportation, and most importantly, survival. However, over
the last two centuries, while revolutionary technologies and discoveries have raised
the overall standard of living, water quality has deteriorated significantly. The United
Nations (UN) estimate that the amount of waste water produced annually is six
times more than the water that exists in all the rivers of the world combined
(UNWWAP, 2003). Unregulated discharge of organic chemicals from ranging from
fertilizers and pharmaceuticals to personal health care products have played a huge
role in the current situation regarding water quality. If this downward trend continues,
the immediate and distant future of the human race will be in jeopardy. Clean
drinking water will become an expensive commodity, skin related diseases will grow
exponentially, and the destruction of aquatic life will trigger an unstable
transformation in the food chain. While technological innovations have tried to
address this problem, the lack of repercussions for pursuing personal interests for
everyone ranging from farmers to a skin care product users has allowed the situation
to worsen. The only permanent solution to this problem is to strictly regulate the
contents of the products that eventually find their way back into the water stream, as
well as
The Law Of Supply And Demand
What is the law of supply and demand? They are theories explaining an interaction
between the supply of a source and a demand for that resource. The law of supply
and demand defines the availability of a particular product and the demand for that
product has on the price. If there is a lower supply and a higher demand, the price
will be high, but the greater the supply and lower the demand, the lower the price
will be for the product. This is an environment where buyers and sellers interact to
exchange goods, the price of which is determined by both supply and demandfor
them.
What is the law of demand? Law of demand is the rule that holding everything else
constant, when the price of a product falls, the quantity demanded of the product
will increase, and when the price of a product rises, the quantity demanded of the
product will decrease. The consumers will buy more goods when the price falls and
less of any other good when the price rises. This leads into the substitution effect
and income effect because if the price of a product falls, the consumers buy a larger
quantity. For the substitution effect, the change in the quantity demanded of a good
that results from a change in price making the good is more or less expensive
relative to other goods that are substitutes. For example, when the price of an android
falls, people will substitute buying androids for other goods like an iPad and another
cell phone. The income effect however, has a changes in the quantity

Pit bulls are a very misunderstood dog breed, and there are a lot more breeds out
there that are accused of all the same circumstances that pit bulls have. According to
a publisher for the Veterinary Medical Association over the last 20 years dog bites are
rare and the percentage for pit bull type dog breed bites are 7 percent. Also, for pit
bull type mixes are only 4 percent. I believe that dog bites are not a factor in any
breed source of information, any bite will hurt, and any dog can bite. Pit bulls are
a very loyal dog breed, yes they will protect but, they are curious about
surroundings and their family. Just like all mothers and fathers are of their

they are guard dogs, they are just as much a loving dog who wouldn t hurt a fly.
There are tons of myths around the world about dog breeds and a big one is the
aggression of the pit bull breed. Aggression only comes from two things, poorly
bred or trained to attack on command or for intruders. Every dog is their own
individual just like us humans. We all will be judged, but we all tend to find a way
to forgive, forget, and to love again. Pit bulls are the biggest examples of forgiveness

Master Visconti s Ntoni By Giovanni Verga
Master Visconti s Ntoni After World War II Italy was in shambles, and the rural
nation struggled to close the developmental gap between itself and other European
nations. It was during this time, in 1948, that Luchino Visconti filmed La Terra
Trema, or The Earth Trembles, on the island of Sicily. It was a critically acclaimed
adaptation of I Malavoglia, or The House by the Medlar Tree, written by Giovanni
Vergain 1881. Life on the island as depicted by Verga had barely changed in the
approximate 70 years between the two works, and Visconti filmed in a true
neorealist style, recruiting nonprofessional Sicilians to act out their own lives in
their own native tongue. While Visconti s political messages change the meaning
of the story, he succeeds in capturing the never ending struggle of the oppressed
working class, and the futility of disjointed revolt. In many respects, Visconti did
not stay true to many aspects of Verga s novel. His film leaves out most of the
supporting characters in the book, depicting the people of Trezza as considerably
less sympathetic to the main characters, a stark contrast to the energetic community
painted by Verga. Visconti wanted to portray the Valastros as a family against the
world, betrayed and abandoned as soon as they challenged the social norms. Visconti
also featured Ntoni, as opposed to his grandfather Master Ntoni, as the main
protagonist in the film. Master Ntoni s belief in fate and his strong conviction in the

is solely a summary of two natural phenomenon which have changed everything

First and foremost, it is about the fundamental idea of how electricity and magnetism
came about, then, the development and discoveries of sources of electricity and
magnetism by many inventors and the latter discoveries of mega production.
When I was a little boy, I used to wonder what causes lightning and thunder. When
rain comes, I sometimes see intermittent lightning for a while before you can hear
the sound of a spark which is like two short circuited power cables.
At school, we all learnt about matter, which consists of atoms and molecules and
every atom has a nucleus and electron(s), inside the nucleus contains an equal
number of protons and neutrons. The electrons revolve round the nucleus of the
atom in order to keep it stable. Protons are positively charged particles, neutrons are
neutral and electrons are negative charge particles. The nucleus is surrounded by
shells; these are simply orbitals in which an electron(s) can be found. The number of
orbitals depends on how many electrons the atom has. The electrons which are in the
outer most orbitals have a tendency of being lost or shared by another atom in order
to create a more stable configuration.

Douglass Vs Nabokov
Frederick Douglass wrote his extraordinary autobiography, Narrative of the Life of
Frederick Douglass, proving that he is a great writer indeed. But does his writing
fit Vladimir Nabokov s criteria for what makes a good writer? According to
novelist Nabokov, there is a certain criteria a writer must pass to be considered
good, as explained in his essay Good Readers and Good Writers. Conforming to
Nabokov s criteria, there are three points of view a writer writes in, a storyteller,
teacher, and an enchanter. A good writer combines the three to make the perfect
read. Douglass combines and uses all three of the point of views in his narrative,
making it fit Nabokov s criteria perfectly.

This point of view overshadows the storyteller and teacher. The enchanter is what
makes a writer major. Douglass definitely incorporates the enchanter into his writing.
He writes about his thoughts in detail precisely explaining every emotion he feels.
My natural elasticity was crushed, my intellect languished, the disposition to read
departed, the cheerful spark that lingered about my eye died; the dark night of slavery
closed in upon me; and behold a man transformed into a brute (Douglass ). The
enchanter allows the reader to try to grasp the individual magic of his genius, and
study the style, the imagery, the patterns of his novels... (Nabokov 1029). This is
going above and beyond the storyteller and truly writing to captivate the reader into
his story. Douglass does a great job providing the imagery and detail necessary to
captivate the reader. When portraying situations, for example the whipping and
deaths of other slaves, Douglass illustrates the situation to produce a precise image in
the reader s mind.
Frederick Douglass s writing in Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass does in
fact fit Vladimir Nabokov s criteria. Nabokov s criteria states that a writer must be a
storyteller, teacher, and an enchanter, Douglass is viewed as all three in his writing
and makes for the perfect narrative. His narrative will continue to be an inspiring and
captivating book for many to read.
The Impacts of Decisions and Outcomes in Hernando
Tellez’s...
As human beings, it is inevitable to face moral dilemmas in life. When it comes to
decision making of a complex situation, individuals often consider their own values
and consequences to their actions. Hernando Tellez s Lather and Nothing Else and
Edith Pargeter s The Purple Children demonstrate the conflicts a person has with
themselves when approached with a challenging situation which requires decision
making. The barber from Lather and Nothing Else and the sentry from The Purple
Children demonstrate the importance of placing one s own values as a priority when
making a difficult choice because it will allow the individual to make peace with the
outcome. Individuals who give more worth to penalties that would put themselves at
risk than those costs that do not affect them as much are more likely to be content
with their decisions. For example, the temptation of murderthat the Barber felt when
shaving Captain Torres was overruled by the punishments that the Barber would
have to encounter, He wouldn t suffer. But what would I do with the body? Where
would I hide it? I d have to run, leaving all of this, take cover far, far away. But they
would follow me until they ran into me. Captain Torres murderer. He cut his throat
while he was shaving him. What a coward (Tellez). This establishes an in depth
moral dilemma that the barber encounters when deciding to give in to his temptations
or to stick to his values as a person. This conflict represents the flood
Dupal Brute Force Attack

Compare And Contrast The Atheistic Beliefs Of Percy
Shelley
The religious topics in lines VS The atheistic beliefs of Percy Shelley Introduction
One of the features of the romantic poetry is the effort to escape from the
conventional world and controlling society. Majorly, for the romantic poets there
were two main ways to achieve that: through the connection with the nature and/or the
creation another better place and conditions through the imagination. Along with the
poverty, restrictions, child abuse and others, Death was one of the most popular
topics attracting the attention of almost all romantic minds, who desired to find the
answers to the mystery of death, because in the world, which is full of various
limitations and problems, the death was considered as an analogy to the freedom.

In the first edition some parts of the poem were omitted in order to not to cause
any shock of the general readers because of the attack on religion. (Mrs. Shelly,
2012) There s a line Twin sister of Religion, selfishness! , which is the open
statement that the religion and the selfishness are closely related (Aronsson, p.16).
In my opinion, it s either implies that the selfishness in the society encourages the
prosperity of religion, or the religious people are selfish. During the same part of
the poem he states that God is created by humans and he continues with the idea
that all religious are capitalistic evil. (Aronsson, p.16) Some of the lines support the
idea that the religion is the limitation of the freedom. According to Shelley, there s
no way the person can be free and Christian at the same time. He brings the image
of Heaven as the place for slaves and Hell for men, which can be viewed as the try
to show how totalitarian the Christian religion is. Even though the poem brings many
religious topics to show the flaws of Christianity, it doesn t bring up any topics about
the existence of afterlife or
Social Media Identity
Social media has the potential to connect with everyone at any given time.
However, when we are plugged into this new digital world, are we really connecting
with people? Are we utilizing our time wisely, are we focusing on important things in
life, and are we even in control of our behaviors online?
Central to understanding technology and its intersection with the self is to ask the
question, Who is our online identity? This question sparked a lot of discussions
among me and my close friends who are more critical and pessimistic than me
about the direction of the internet and social media. Indeed, with the boom of
social media, more people than ever are exposing themselves to a greater audience.
As a result, the concept of branding comes into place online, because it is the way
we curate and craft our identities or who want to project online. At the same time,
social media, while it is great to filter and connect with mass numbers of people, is
lacking in real connections. Interestingly enough, social media is the one area in
our life that blurs the divide between the private sphere and public sphere, because
there is a type of online voyeurism that exists: we see into the small, perfectly
curated window of another person s life while also crafting our own window to select
what other may see into our own lives. As clandestine participants of social media,
voyeurism has given us the inhumane ability to desensitize: where it has made people
comfortable with watching

the best they can. For example on my trip to Iqaluit in 2014 with my choir (OCC), I
was able to work with children from three schools and teach them how to properly
sing. I was appointed team leader for this project. Another example of my
collaboration skills could be seen in my work as an apprenticeship student in a
Musical Theatre March break camp. My role as a leader was to guide the other
kids in activities and creating a show with sections of plays, turning it all into a
skit performance that we did for the parents at the end of the week. This year I will
be going back to that same camp as Senior apprenticeship student. My integrity is
shown in my ability to stand for what I believe in and speaking for what is right.
This trait can make me stubborn sometimes. I also endeavour to have a positive
attitude and outlook on life. I have close, meaningful and usually lasting
relationships with people and I am very easily excited. An example of this is when
one of my best friends had me guess a gift she was giving, and to throw me off,
suggested it was a toaster. I got super excited, but it wasn t actually a toaster, so she
was a little peeved from my reaction. I also maintain PI s, which stands for Positivity
Initiative: something a friend had me try, to see that there is positivity in everything.

Orientalism in M. Butterfly
She is petite, submissive, and great in bed, the greatest combination for the perfect
woman. Yellow fever is the psychological inclination towards Asian woman that has
been expressed by a portion of the male population. This stereotype is a part of
orientalism that continues to be discussed amongst today s society; it is deemed odd
or labeled as a fetish. M. Butterfly a Tony Award playwright written by David Henry
Hwangconsists of ideas related to orientalism through the layers developed in gender
identity, global politics and art forms. The play begins in the present 1988 with Rene
Gallimard sitting in a Paris prison. Gallimard declares himself as a celebrity, and
relishes that his fame has spread to Amsterdam,... Show more content on

Butterfly does not reflect the complications between the U.S. and China, but certainly
depicts secret intelligence being traded among the Chinese from an outlier source,
French diplomat Rene Gallimard, who did not realize this deception from his Perfect
Woman , Song Liling. Before the full context of M. Butterfly can be explored, it is
important to establish the oriental stereotype that is expressed in the play.
Oriental women have long been fetishized into a stereotype; they are depicted as
submissive and passive, and are silenced by the double pressure from race and sex ,
Oriental woman, as Said (1979) states in Orientalism, is usually viewed ―with
sexist blinders and serves as ―the creatures of a male power fantasy and Asians as
a whole are considered to be inferior and emasculated, easy targets for exploitations
and dominance. Asian woman, always caged and subordinate both in the patriarchic
society and in the Oriental rhetoric tradition, are natural subjects for the White s
desire (Weilin).
This stereotype is still regarded in todays society. According to Prof. Dr. Opfermann
and Prof. Dr. Wippermann from Johann Wolfgang Goethe University, their thesis

Butterfly on the Asian American Needle implies that David Henry Hwang had two
objectives in mind ... (1) Negating
The Fur Trade Analysis
Bowsfeild, (2003) explains that Robert Semple who was born February 6th, 1777,
and was the Hudson Bay Company s, territorial Governor. He also states that
historians claim Semple to be an extremely hostile, vain, and failed to appreciate the
lengths to which the Northwest Company would go in order to destroy the Red River
Settlement. At first Semple respected Robertson s superior knowledge of the country,
but he eventually decided to assert his own leadership. Robertson hoped to blockade
the rivers and prevent the MГ©tis from supplying pemmican to the Northwest
Company bridges travelling west. Semple was more concerned with provisions for
the settlement than with the blockade.
McGill, (2015) states in his article; that without the Battle of ... Show more content on

The first MГ©tis people were born in Eastern Canada as early as the 1600s, and
they were the children born to European men and their Aboriginal wives, (Sprague,
1998). When the fur trade moved west, in the 1700s and 1800s, many French
Canadian fur traders found the Aboriginal wives and had children, and there are
about 350,000 400,000 MГ©tis in Canada alone. The MГ©tis played a vital role in
the success of the Fur Trade. Not only were the MГ©tis skilled buffalo hunters, but
they were also raised to appreciate both their Aboriginal and European cultures. Over
time, the MГ©tis became valuable employees of both fur trade companies: The North
West Company and even the Hudson s Bay Companybecause the MГ©tis were
skilled voyageurs, buffalo hunters, traders, and interpreters, (Sprague, 1998).
Ray, (2015), explains that The Hudson s Bay Company was founded by French
traders named Medard Chouart des Groseilliers, and Pierre Esprit Raddison, who
first proposed a trading company to reach the interior for better fur access. Once the
posts for the Hudson s Bay Company were established, they began trading with the
Aboriginal people in Canada, this came to be known as the Fur Trade, which will be
further explained below. The Aboriginal people would trade pemmican and other furs
for manufactured items. This continued for many years until the Hudson s Bay
Company began wanting more
Four Manners Of Death
Manners of death are one of the most important factors of an investigation. The four
different manners of death are suicide, homicide, natural, and accidental. The
difference in these is if the state is going to prosecute. Getting this information right
during the investigation will keep the right people behind bars and help families
learn to heal. Homicides are the killing of another person. A homicide is a very
serious crime that shocks the community. Even though we are in a rural area,
homicides still happen around us. When investigating a homicide, it is important to
look for a murderinstrument. Suicides happen when someone decides to take their
own life. Some of the most common suicides are asphyxia or gunshot wounds to the
head. An accidental... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some people can die from carbon monoxide poisoning without even knowing
because this gas is odorless. The most usual carbon monoxide death would involve
sitting inside the car with a tube running inside the car from the exhaust system.
This seems to be a preferred way to commit suicide because all the person does is
lay down and fall asleep forever. A sign to look for with a dead body inside a
residence if drugs, medical conditions, and trauma are ruled out is cherry read
skin. Although it can be spotted on the skin it is very dangerous to investigate this
kind of case. Often officers will go inside the residence to see the dead body when
there could still be a high content of carbon monoxide in the air. It has been noted
that if residence is going to use carbon monoxide to kill themselves some
considerate residence have put up signs letting first responders know so they are
not subject to the poison. If there is no sign left up by the victim officer should be
aware of poison if they get a headache or if they feel
Calpurnia Character Traits
Calpurnia Character Analysis Calpurnia, or Cal , was the Finch s African American
housekeeper and cook. Her being a black, middle aged woman in a white dominated
society, we can already infer she has experienced great racial injustices. Throughout
the novel, we see significant and noticeable changes in the main characters, but little
development in CalpurniaВґs character. Before you discard this essay on what was
supposed to be about a chosen character changing due to social and racial injustices
throughout the book, give the thesis some thought. Scout is the narrator of the book,
therefore we are seeing changes through her point of view; so we only see Calpurnia
changing through the eyes of Scout, but they were not in actuality... Show more

Towards Jem, we see instances in Calpurnia in which she almost seems soft. For
example, after Jem wrecks Mrs. Dubose s camellia, and the kids were skulking
around, Calpurnia knew Jem was upset, and gave him a hot biscuit and butter. One
may argue this is the beginning of a change in Calpurnia, but we may look at it as
Cal just being a mom. One can refute the argument of change that Scout is just
beginning to see the good side of her and why Cal does what she does. She has
already gone through the phases with her own children, and know how it is herself
growing up. In the middle of To Kill a Mockingbird, Jem is starting to grow up and
is becoming a teenager. This is evident by Scout s overwhelming frustration with
Jem in the quote, His maddening superiority was unbearable these days. He didn t
want to do anything but read and go off by himself. (Lee 184) Calpurnia, being the
experienced mother/caregiver she is, had seen that, and started giving Jem his space,
and started calling him Mister Jem . Scout realizes Calpurnia is not as bad as she
once thought. Scout realizes Calpurnia can be nice when given the chance. During
Tom Robinson s trial, Scout starts to understand the entirety of racial injustice. We
see this when Scout meets the lynch mob outside Tom s cell before the trial, and she
stopped them by talking to and embarrassing Mr. Cunningham. It was not until after
that night
Moody s Committed No Crime Or Infraction
As was previously stated, Moody s committed no crime or infraction, yet one
cannot overlook a somewhat lax stance in regards to it s ratings on residential
mortgage backed securities. Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Moody s,
Raymond McDaniel, testified before the Financial Crisis Inquiry Commission that
while Moody s did observe a trend in the declining quality of mortgage backed
securities as early as 2003, that it is not the role of Moody s nor any other credit
rating agencyto serve as the gate keeper of the securities market and that their ratings
are merely opinions, not definitive advice or recommendation on the stability or
substantiality of a particular financial instrument.
What stakeholders were helped, and which were hurt, by Moody s actions?
The immediate beneficiaries of Moody s ratings were the securities issuers, those
institutions which provided these securities profited immensely from their continued
distribution throughout the market, as did Moody s who received sizeable fees to
rate said instruments.[2] One Moody s employee indirectly described the competitive
pressures which led to the lapses in the ratings systems,
He described RMBS (residential mortgage backed securities) as the worst team to
work on at Moody s. It s difficult to maintain market share in a market that has
become commoditized and where Moody s expected loss analysis means higher
costs for issuers.
The investors, placing great confidence in the quality of Moody s credit
Link Between Worlds By Ray Douglas Bradbury Essay
Link Between Worlds A multitude of topics exist in the modern world about the
issues of politics, of scientific standpoints, of religious statuses, and even those of
freedom. The topic of life on other planets has had its fair share of publicity. Stories
of personal experiences, sightings, and encounters have navigated its way into the
thoughts of an innumerable amount of people. Newsweek, reports on a poll that
more than half of Americans believe in the existence of intelligent aliens. What does
this mean for the world? Is the majority wrong once again or must we investigate the
possibilities? Ray Douglas Bradbury, an American fantasy, science fiction author
tapped into the notion of possible life on other planets, touched on the many
mysteries of time, and grazed on the interaction between aliens and humans in August
2002: Night Meeting. A short story located in his collection The Martian Chronicles.
Are there any answers to the questions presented? Evidence hasn t shown aliens exist
or has it? Most importantly, does the Bible specify anything about such findings? A
common excuse for Christians to believe in extraterrestrial lifeis they believe the
universe is much too large to just consist of only Earth s inhabitants. Having life
exists only on Earth would therefore be a waste of space. Firstly, we will look into
the idea of life on other planets, but before we can look at life on other planets we
must look at the composition of life in our modern world. Google
Message to the Black Man In America
Elijah Robert Poole was born on October 7,1897 in Sandersville Georgia. He was
the sixth of thirteen children born to William Poole Sr and Mariah Poole. He is
famous for being an African American religious leader and the leader of the Nation
Of Islaem from 1934 until he died in 1975. He ended his education in the fourth
grade to help his family by working as a sharecropper until he left home at age 16
to work in factories. On March 17, 1917 he married Clara evans and like many
blacks at the time migrated for the jim crow south to Hamtramack Michigan for
better job opportunities. While living in Michigan Poole and his wife had 8
children. In 1931 Poole attended his first speech on Islam and black empowerment

He states that the civilized mans job is to educate his people and if he doesn t do
this job that he is uncivilized or savage. Muhammad encourages us to adopt the
names our 20 million ancestors. He believes that a name states where is from and
that Negroes with European names are wrong. He states that we should have a
name that links us to our home land Africa. He goes on to encourage us to work for
ourselves. We should work to acquire our own land because for any nation to
survive they must have ownership of there own land. He says that blacks are
without a state to call their own and that we have nothing to show for more than
310 years of forced slaver and more the 100 years of free servitude. He encourages
us to go to school and take our knowledge back to our homeland to teach our own
kind and to take the money that we make and spend on each other instead of taking it
and giving it to the slave masters children. Muhammad briefly speaks on the black
women and says that we should love pprotect and cherish them. He says that without
them our race would not be able to continue. He says that The Women is the mans
field to produce his nation and that no race will ever respect us until we can learn to
respect our women. Muhammad believes that no nation on Earth disrespects there
women more then the black nation. He even states that animals treat there female
counterparts with more respect then we do. He states that we
The Importance Of Male Oppression Of Women
For much of history man has been considered the only sex and women, the Other and
as a result men views and opinions have created myths of what women in society are
expected to conform to and exhibit. Throughout time men have developed and
perpetuated the expectation that a woman exists to fulfill male s sexual needs. Manis
the superior being and his ideal women is one that will unquestionably submit to his
domination (201). Moreso, men s domination over women places women into state of
dependence. Women are largely reliant on men for economic necessities and security.
However, women s reliance on men leaves the vulnerable to males oppression on
them. Male oppression places significant burden on women yet, male does not need
to take responsibility or place any concern to the fact of how oppressive their
superiority is on women because it is intended by nature and thus nature endows men
with the right to oppress. Furthermore, women are oppressed because to men, they
are a possession that men behold, objects used within their lives to fulfill their
domestic needs within the home, their sexual needs both for pleasure and to
procreate, and to nature the future generation of men and women where masculine
dominance and feminine subjectivity will continue to persist. As Simone de Beauvoir
writes woman is her husband s prey, his property (171). Males continual superiority
in society has served to inflate man s ego to a immense degree where he believes
that his place on earth
Neo-Marxist Filmmakers
Neo Marxist filmmakers were greatly influenced by Althusser s theory of ideology,
which viewed film as an ideological apparatus that tried to determine how films turn
viewers into their subject, and encourage them to believe not only in the
represented reality, but also in their preferred one, the one that could not exist
without their structuring. For example, the Jean Louis Baudry s article Ideological
effects of the Basic Cinematographic Apparatus (1985) says that the making of
movies is a results of the recent capitalism s need to restore in people minds the
illusion of having control over their own lives. The illusion was needed for their
willing participation in the new industrial style of production that actually took
away the remains of their self control. Baudry found ideological properties in the
film apparatus itself that constitute a transcendental concentrated subject, and
therefore induce a willingness to cooperate with the capitalist mode of production.
An observer who accepts the position set by a painting, whereby his or hers eye
overlays the painting s point of view, experiences the full illusion of depth. This
effect has a strong ideological outcome since, in ideological terms, the painting
arranges the viewer space in a centered and organized form that appears to originate
from the painting. Laura Mulvey, in Narrative Cinema and Visual Pleasure (1973),
uses psychoanalysis as a political weapon to uncover ways in which the patriarchal
My Visit To South Carolina Myrtle Beach
The most memorable day in my life was when I went to South Carolina Myrtle
beach. This was one of my most favorite trips of all. It was also my first time going
to Myrtle Beach. It was on the 4th of July, my uncle s birthday. It s a day we all
celebrate in remembrance of his life. The day my family and I went to Myrtle
Beach was one of the best days I ve had. South Carolina was so much different then
what I m used to seeing in small Buffalo. The city is just so much bigger with a lot
of places and carnivals to go too. We did as much activities as we could that day.
We went to a water park where they had the biggest water slides in the city. We all
went on it and had a blast. We also walked the strip where there was everything to go
to.
Traumatic Brain Injury Essay
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is the result of an external force against the head that
causes displacement of the cranial structures, either through impact with an object
or through acceleration and deceleration. TBI is not isolated to a single ethnic
group, socioeconomic class, or region (Berquist et al., 2009; Jang et al., 2013). In
2002, the United States had the highest incidence of reported TBI cases of any
developed country. The incidence of hospital admissions due to closed head injuries
in the United States was estimated to be approximately 200 per 100,000 people, and
the number of penetrating head injuries was estimated to be 12 per 100,000
approximately 500,000 new cases in total. Many of those cases had significant...

There is currently limited information regarding the long term effects of brain
injuries sustained in battle (Mass et al., 2008). In the military population, TBI cases
are sometimes co morbid with post traumatic stress disorder. Post traumatic stress
disorder and TBI can present with similar symptoms of cognitive impairment,
which further complicates the process of making an accurate diagnosis (Tanev,
Pentel, Kredlow, Charney, 2014). Injuries associated with TBI are divided into two
categories: primary injuries and secondary injuries. Primary injuries are the direct
physical damage incurred at the moment the trauma occurs. Secondary brain
injuries occur indirectly as a result of trauma and usually appear hours or days after
the initial injury. Secondary injuries exist as result of or separate from the initial
injury. They cause complications such as hemorrhaging, alterations in intracranial
pressure (ICP), and neurological deficits. Deterioration can occur even after patients
have been downgraded from critical status. Approximately 40% of all cases of TBI
deteriorate after hospitalization. These complications are a major cause of death in
people with a TBI (Narayan et al., 2002). The brain normally maintains a state of
homeostasis, meaning the cerebral perfusion pressure (CPP) stays within a normal
range to adequately carry blood to the brain. The protective

My Hometown Essay. 003 My Hometown Essay Example Thatsnotus

  • 1. My Hometown Essay Crafting an essay on the subject of "My Hometown" may seem deceptively simple at first glance, as the topic revolves around personal experiences and memories. However, the difficulty lies in transforming these familiar aspects into a compelling narrative that captivates the reader. One challenge is striking the right balance between nostalgia and objectivity. It's easy to fall into the trap of overly romanticizing or exaggerating the positive aspects of one's hometown, neglecting the nuances that make the essay authentic. Conversely, maintaining objectivity can be tricky, as personal biases and emotions inevitably color the narrative. Another hurdle is finding a unique angle or perspective that sets the essay apart. Given the broad nature of the topic, many individuals may share similar memories of growing up or exploring their hometowns. Crafting an essay that stands out requires delving into personal anecdotes, specific details, and unique experiences that make the hometown narrative distinctive. The challenge extends to maintaining a coherent structure and flow throughout the essay. Seamlessly transitioning between different aspects of the hometown—be it landmarks, community, or personal growth—requires careful planning and organization. Without a well- crafted structure, the essay risks becoming a disjointed collection of memories rather than a cohesive story. Furthermore, the process involves the delicate task of conveying emotions effectively. Describing the sentimental value of certain places or the impact of the hometown on personal development demands a nuanced approach to language and expression. Striking this emotional chord without veering into melodrama can be demanding but is crucial for connecting with the reader. In conclusion, despite the seemingly straightforward nature of a "My Hometown" essay, the difficulty lies in weaving a narrative that balances nostalgia, objectivity, uniqueness, coherence, and emotional resonance. It's an intricate dance that requires both introspection and skilled storytelling to transform a familiar topic into a compelling piece of writing. And for those seeking assistance in essay writing or exploring a variety of topics, similar essays and more can be conveniently ordered on HelpWriting.net. My Hometown Essay My Hometown Essay
  • 2. Zachary Crockett Bowling Zachary Crockett published the article The Rise and Fall of Professional Bowling in March of 2014 in order to inform readers about the history of professional bowling. Currently, the Professional Bowlers Association, or PBA, is facing an extreme decline in popularity mainly due to low funds. Even though there are many people who love the sport of bowling and support the professionals, the sport as a whole is on a decline. In the article, Crockett basically talks about the entire history of bowling. In the second half of the article though, he heavily analyzes the fall of bowling starting in the 1980s and what the professional tour needs to succeed again. This article is ideal for writing a research paper on why professional bowling has fallen... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The article provides necessary background information on the sport for readers who do not know what they are reading about and it follows in a logical order. Also, he provides different types of evidence throughout the article to back up what he is saying including analyzing numbers and interviewing professional bowlers. Crockett is an author who has clearly done enough research on what he is talking about to be credible. This article is a great start to doing a research paper into the fall of professional bowling. It has sparked my interest in the topic even more than before I read it. If I do future research into the topic, I will definitely use Zachary Crockett s work in my
  • 3. Ntb Airplane Failure Weather is possibly the biggest X factors affecting a pilot in flight. According to a 2014 Airplane Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) Report (NTSB DEN06LA036), approximately 4% of general aviation accidents are weather related, yet these accidents account for more than 25% of all fatalities. Unintended flight in to IMC is probably one of the most confusing, perilous, and challenging situations a pilot can go through. On 25 January 2006, a pilot crashed his recently purchased Cessna 172C while ferrying it from Arkansas to his home base in Richfield, Utah after encountering instrument meteorological conditions (IMC) while flying via visual flight rules(VFR). The airplane suffered extensive damage when it collided with numerous trees... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Situational awareness is a cornerstone for good quality airmanship and entails solid decision making, knowing what information is significant, and why that information is significant. Using proper scan techniques such as the T scan or wagon wheel scan can help a pilot maintain their situational awareness. Weather is something often glanced over during flight planning. Especially if the weather is good or fair. Weather should always be a focal point during flight planning however, it becomes even more important when planning a cross country flight. If a pilot plans a flight toward a low or a front, they should expect the weather to most likely deteriorate the closer they get to the low or front. Turbulence should also be expected as the flight nears the frontal area, particularly at lower

  • 5. Renaissance Dbq Essay The Renaissance was a period of time when Europeans experienced a shift in thinking. This rebirth led to a time of creativity in which they began to think outside the box instead of inside. It sprouted from the Dark Ages and led to the modern era. During the Renaissance, the Europeans began to adopt a new way of thinking that included the increasing presence of art and the idea of individualism, the decline in the significance of the Church, and the arising of the importance of education. The Renaissancewas a great time of change that shaped the way that Europeans perceived their surroundings and the world. Many famous artists, such as Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo, contributed to the revolutionary art of the Renaissance. Unlike in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Bible was only available in Latin, and Church officials were able to manipulate believers of the religion since they were at a disadvantage. In Document 8, A.J. Froude said that religion only cares about money. Additionally, in Document 9, W.H. Draper said that people should find grace and glory in Earth, not just heaven. These documents demonstrate that religion was not considered 100% positive; instead, it also carried a negative connotation. Europeans were beginning to turn away from religion because it seemed to be becoming more scheming. Rather than only thinking inside of the box, the Renaissance promoted thinking outside of it. People thought less about religion and thought more about themselves and their surroundings. A piece of artwork that shows this is the Madonna by Raphael. Comparable to The Creation of Adam, Raphael s artwork illustrated the philosophy of art and the human individual. It stepped away from halos and heavenly beings, and gave viewers a sense of realism. During the Medieval Ages the Church was considered to be reliable; however, during the Renaissance the way of thinking changed, and the Church was challenged to adapt to this change. With the idea of individualism and humanism, the Europeans no longer needed to rely on the

This particular period of time was very significant in terms of general changes in society given the post war baby boom, abolition of the death penalty, improved reproduction rights for women, peaks in the number of university attendees, sexual revolution which saw strident action towards female liberation and equality, an influx of immigrants from the Caribbean and South Asia, periods of economic booms and busts and new found openness of sex, sexuality, drug use and freedom of expression in fashion and music which was largely unprecedented. Some said her act was merely self defence and that she was brave to fight back. There were a lot of factors which affected women s employment in Britain in the 1950s and 1960s such as social attitudes towards the family. Many people were traditional and saw women who worked to be selfish and neglecting their responsibilities in the home. Many working class women could not afford child minders and therefore relied on family and friends. Also, nursery education was expensive thus only an option for wealthier families. Women also had limited education; with limited educational opportunities for girl s women were restricted to lower paid employment as they required fewer skills. In the 1960s only 15% of doctors and 5% of the law profession were women and 80% of all factories, secretarial and shop work was done by women. There was also lack of government legalisation. Employers were reluctant to appoint women to responsible positions as they thought they would get married and leave. Also when women had the same job as men they were often paid lower. Employers argued that many women returning to work will work less hours and want a lot of time off due to their family. Gender became very significant during this period with women and girls becoming radicalised. One of the ways women began to express
  • 7. Shinden Zukuri Architectural Style Before the beginning of the Heian Period in Japan, Tang China had been influencing Japanese culture greatly until the An Lushan rebellion debilitated the economy. Japan shut itself off from other countries and shunned China because of this cataclysm; they also began to cultivate their own culture. One product of this new isolation was Shinden Zukuri, a Japanese architectural style used during the Heian period (794 1185). In this style, one story buildings and corridors were always made of wood, never stone. The primary building, the Shinden, faced South and functioned as the sleeping quarters for the residents of the house. The complex also had up to three opposing buildings known as Tai no ya that were on the North, East, and West of the Shinden. The Tai no ya were extra rooms... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the Wikipedia article called Japanese housing written in March 28, 2018, it states that there was no designated use for a room except for the Genkan (shoe room), toilet, and Ofuro (bath). Any room can easily be transformed into the desired size using fusuma, sliding doors that create rooms when needed. This shows that the Japanese value flexibility because of the many ways you can arrange a Japanese house. In the article Shinden Zukuri Estates of the Heian Period written by Anthony Bryant, it says that the undeveloped space between two rooms or in the main courtyard was often filled with nature. They placed one dominant tree, smaller trees, and an artificial pond in the open space. Women were named after the dominant tree in the area that their pavilion faced. This demonstrates the fact that the Japanese value nature greatly in their homes and even name people after trees on the property. Shinden Zukuri values both nature and flexibility because of ponds and trees that they add to the home for decoration and the fusuma screens that allow for the transfiguration of rooms at
  • 8. Characteristics Of A Modern Day Hero A doctor, a father, and, most importantly, a hero. Someone I would consider a modern day hero is Derek Shephard, from the TV show GreyВґs Anatomy . A hero is someone who is able to help others without any interest that would benefit him/her behind his actions Derek is a perfect example of a modern day hero. He is selfless and works as a doctor with the main goal of helping others. Right before a surgery he says to everyone in the OR: Today is a beautiful day to save lives. Derek is worthy of the title of a modern day hero because of all his good and selfless actions towards the others. What is a modern day hero exactly? Chief of neurosurgery at Seattle Grace Hospital/ Grey + Sloan Memorial Hospital, Derek has to be brave and smart to look after every patient he has. Braveness and intelligence are characteristics he has that match the ones classical and epic heroes have. Even though his challenges are not fighting monsters, he has some pretty hard challenges like saving a woman from a big aneurism in her brain, and the only powers he has are his skills with a scalpel in hand. Derek does not fit perfectly the Hero s Journey idea, but he does match it in some aspects. For example, during his last episode, Derek faces one of his major trials when he saves over three people on the side of an empty highway after these three people suffered a car accident. However, right after that, crisis comes and he is hit by the ambulance he called to take the people he saved, from the highway to a hospital. Derek faces death as a consequence, however he does not come back to life, because he is not a classical hero with superhuman characteristics, but a simple
  • 9. The Philosophy Of Leadership And Leadership 1.Leadership is defined on Merriam Webster.com as the power or ability to lead other people . This definition is weak at best. Throughout my career, I have witnessed this form of leadership applying control of power, simply leading by giving direction, guidelines and instruction. There never seemed to be any care for if they were actually inspiring the next generation to follow in their footsteps. This seems counterproductive at best. In my experience, I have found that I always worked harder for and trusted more in a leader who I was able to connect with, admire, or look up to. Recognition from an admired leader inspired me to do more. So my philosophy on leadershipis: Inspire those around you by respecting them, giving recognition, coachingand finally lead by example. 2.The philosophy of leadership I strive for can be defined as inspirational in type. One of the greatest things about this philosophy style is that it creates trust among everyone. When I was a young seaman on the Coast Guard Cutter Sedge, I was not among this idealized example of inspirational leadership. We were often broken down by superiors with derogatory name calling or negative motivation. At no time during my 2 years aboard can I remember a time when I admired the leadership. It was simply getting the work done while being called names or be insubordinate. It was an unfortunate situation. No trust was ever instilled in leadership because of this. As long as leadership continued

In the play, The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, two star crossed lovers take their lives in despair due to a series of events led by a long feud between the Capulets and Montagues. Timing is very crucial when it comes to Romeo and Juliet. If many situations were avoided such as the confrontation between Tybalt and Mercutio, the wedding being pushed up a day earlier and Juliet waking up five minutes before Romeo got to the cell, and issues like this would have caused the play to end differently. In Act Three of the play, timing ties in because if Mercutio and Tybalt weren t at the town square at the same time, Mercutio

The Skull Base Discussion: Chordomas of the skull base represent significant challenges due to their midline position and their ability to engulf critical neurovascular structures located around them. In addition to these location issues, their biology represents significant challenges, as notocordal rests located throughout the clivus, often remote from the visible lesion, have the propensity to grow and recur. Both of these features are critical for the skullbase surgeon, the former in determining the surgical approach and trajectory and the latter in deciding on the surgical goals and intentions of treatment. For more than a decade, lateral and paramedian approaches have been traditionally the mainstay for surgical access and have provided valuable corridors. These have included transbasal (12), trans septal trans sphenoidal (13), transmaxillary (14), facial translocation, (15), transoral with or without mandible split (16), transcervical transclival, and anterior cervical approaches. These anterior and lateral approaches toward a centrally located chordomacarry the potential morbidity of manipulating neurovascular structures in the way to lesion. The cited data report gross total resection rates that vary widely, ranging from 44 to 83%. The corresponding neurological morbidity rates are equally variable, ranging from 0 to 80%, and vascular injuries are reported at 9 to 12%. Athens, Dietrich Von Bothmer argues that Dionysos is one of the most used gods that the Amasis Painter painted . He follows this argument with bringing up that the Amasis Painter painted Dionysus more than 20 times. The 20 paintings prove that the Amasis Painter has some connection with Dionysus. With this said, this paper explores why the Amasis Painter paints Dionysus, examples of these paintings, and details of the paintings. Our journey begins when the Amasis Painter starts painting at the end of the sixth century. The Amasis Painter paints on small and large vessels. He starts with attic black figure vase painting that was first produced in Corinth around 700 B.C. Attic black figure vase painting depicts animals and human silhouette figures in a naturalistic detail. Additionally, attic black figure vases have vessel borders and edges that are decorated with floral, lotus, and palmette designs. The Amasis Painter includes these details to every vase and sometimes adds white to his paintings. The Amasis Painter paints two scenes that involve Dionysus on one panel amphora (Fig.1, ... In the United States the most common is the famous Sweet Sixteen which as in the name states: relates to being sixteen years old, getting a car, and having some sort of celebration to commemorate the birthday. Among others include the Quinceanera which is usually equated with Mexico and Bat Mitzvahs which is a Jewish girl s rite of passage. Another rite of passage, called Kinaalda, is a puberty ceremony that holds the same importance and significance among the Navajo tribeas their creation story. Even in my research, there is no formal prose claiming that Marketing creates needs and wants. This observation stems from the fact that needs and wants are not always simple. As stated by Kotler and Keller, some customers have needs that they are not fully conscious of or that they cannot articulate. It gives the impression that there was no need and want in the first place. With some research, marketers have defined those needs and wants and produced products to satisfy them. Before the customers start buying the products, it is also the job of the marketer to help the customer learn what they want. These overwhelmed observers missed out on this process, thus, jumping into conclusion that the need and want was created. • 32. Water Quality Of Clean Drinking Water It is a well known fact that the existence of water is critical to life on Earth. The world has been set up in a way that makes mankind heavily dependent on water for cultivation, sanitation, transportation, and most importantly, survival. However, over the last two centuries, while revolutionary technologies and discoveries have raised the overall standard of living, water quality has deteriorated significantly. The United Nations (UN) estimate that the amount of waste water produced annually is six times more than the water that exists in all the rivers of the world combined (UNWWAP, 2003). Unregulated discharge of organic chemicals from ranging from fertilizers and pharmaceuticals to personal health care products have played a huge role in the current situation regarding water quality. If this downward trend continues, the immediate and distant future of the human race will be in jeopardy. Clean drinking water will become an expensive commodity, skin related diseases will grow exponentially, and the destruction of aquatic life will trigger an unstable transformation in the food chain. While technological innovations have tried to address this problem, the lack of repercussions for pursuing personal interests for everyone ranging from farmers to a skin care product users has allowed the situation to worsen. The only permanent solution to this problem is to strictly regulate the contents of the products that eventually find their way back into the water stream, as well as
  • 33. The Law Of Supply And Demand What is the law of supply and demand? They are theories explaining an interaction between the supply of a source and a demand for that resource. The law of supply and demand defines the availability of a particular product and the demand for that product has on the price. If there is a lower supply and a higher demand, the price will be high, but the greater the supply and lower the demand, the lower the price will be for the product. This is an environment where buyers and sellers interact to exchange goods, the price of which is determined by both supply and demandfor them. What is the law of demand? Law of demand is the rule that holding everything else constant, when the price of a product falls, the quantity demanded of the product will increase, and when the price of a product rises, the quantity demanded of the product will decrease. The consumers will buy more goods when the price falls and less of any other good when the price rises. This leads into the substitution effect and income effect because if the price of a product falls, the consumers buy a larger quantity. For the substitution effect, the change in the quantity demanded of a good that results from a change in price making the good is more or less expensive relative to other goods that are substitutes. For example, when the price of an android falls, people will substitute buying androids for other goods like an iPad and another cell phone. The income effect however, has a changes in the quantity

All dogs and breeds are unique. They are also raised by the human. If they are not properly raised or trained on certain things, they will have aggression, temperaments, and insecurities. JUST LIKE YOUNGER CHILDREN. It is all on how they are raised and who is raising them. There has been so many bans off this breed around the United States, from 2003 up till present day there have been over 860 bans over the world. According to a publisher for the Veterinary Medical Association over the last 20 years dog bites are rare and the percentage for pit bull type dog breed bites are 7 percent. Also, for pit bull type mixes are only 4 percent. I believe that dog bites are not a factor in any breed source of information, any bite will hurt, and any dog can bite. Pit bulls are a very loyal dog breed, yes they will protect but, they are curious about surroundings and their family. Just like all mothers and fathers are of their children! When owning a pit bull, you are their human, and as much as people say they are guard dogs, they are just as much a loving dog who wouldn t hurt a fly. There are tons of myths around the world about dog breeds and a big one is the aggression of the pit bull breed. Aggression only comes from two things, poorly bred or trained to attack on command or for intruders. Every dog is their own individual just like us humans. We all will be judged, but we all tend to find a way to forgive, forget, and to love again. Pit bulls are the biggest examples of forgiveness and learning
  • 35. Master Visconti s Ntoni By Giovanni Verga Master Visconti s Ntoni After World War II Italy was in shambles, and the rural nation struggled to close the developmental gap between itself and other European nations. It was during this time, in 1948, that Luchino Visconti filmed La Terra Trema, or The Earth Trembles, on the island of Sicily. It was a critically acclaimed adaptation of I Malavoglia, or The House by the Medlar Tree, written by Giovanni Vergain 1881. Life on the island as depicted by Verga had barely changed in the approximate 70 years between the two works, and Visconti filmed in a true neorealist style, recruiting nonprofessional Sicilians to act out their own lives in their own native tongue. While Visconti s political messages change the meaning of the story, he succeeds in capturing the never ending struggle of the oppressed working class, and the futility of disjointed revolt. In many respects, Visconti did not stay true to many aspects of Verga s novel. His film leaves out most of the supporting characters in the book, depicting the people of Trezza as considerably less sympathetic to the main characters, a stark contrast to the energetic community painted by Verga. Visconti wanted to portray the Valastros as a family against the world, betrayed and abandoned as soon as they challenged the social norms. Visconti also featured Ntoni, as opposed to his grandfather Master Ntoni, as the main protagonist in the film. Master Ntoni s belief in fate and his strong conviction in the self possession of

It is solely a summary of two natural phenomenon which have changed everything about our way of life and has ushered us into a remarkable new age. First and foremost, it is about the fundamental idea of how electricity and magnetism came about, then, the development and discoveries of sources of electricity and magnetism by many inventors and the latter discoveries of mega production. When I was a little boy, I used to wonder what causes lightning and thunder. When rain comes, I sometimes see intermittent lightning for a while before you can hear the sound of a spark which is like two short circuited power cables. At school, we all learnt about matter, which consists of atoms and molecules and every atom has a nucleus and electron(s), inside the nucleus contains an equal number of protons and neutrons. The electrons revolve round the nucleus of the atom in order to keep it stable. Protons are positively charged particles, neutrons are neutral and electrons are negative charge particles. The nucleus is surrounded by shells; these are simply orbitals in which an electron(s) can be found. The number of orbitals depends on how many electrons the atom has. The electrons which are in the outer most orbitals have a tendency of being lost or shared by another atom in order to create a more stable configuration. Long before any knowledge of electricity

But does his writing fit Vladimir Nabokov s criteria for what makes a good writer? According to novelist Nabokov, there is a certain criteria a writer must pass to be considered good, as explained in his essay Good Readers and Good Writers. Conforming to Nabokov s criteria, there are three points of view a writer writes in, a storyteller, teacher, and an enchanter. A good writer combines the three to make the perfect read. Douglass combines and uses all three of the point of views in his narrative, making it fit Nabokov s criteria perfectly. A storyteller mentally and emotionally entertains a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This point of view overshadows the storyteller and teacher. The enchanter is what makes a writer major. Douglass definitely incorporates the enchanter into his writing. He writes about his thoughts in detail precisely explaining every emotion he feels. My natural elasticity was crushed, my intellect languished, the disposition to read departed, the cheerful spark that lingered about my eye died; the dark night of slavery closed in upon me; and behold a man transformed into a brute (Douglass ). The enchanter allows the reader to try to grasp the individual magic of his genius, and study the style, the imagery, the patterns of his novels... (Nabokov 1029). This is going above and beyond the storyteller and truly writing to captivate the reader into his story. Douglass does a great job providing the imagery and detail necessary to captivate the reader. When portraying situations, for example the whipping and deaths of other slaves, Douglass illustrates the situation to produce a precise image in the reader s mind. Frederick Douglass s writing in Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass does in fact fit Vladimir Nabokov s criteria. Nabokov s criteria states that a writer must be a storyteller, teacher, and an enchanter, Douglass is viewed as all three in his writing and makes for the perfect narrative. His narrative will continue to be an inspiring and captivating book for many to read.
  • 38. The Impacts of Decisions and Outcomes in Hernando Tellez’s... As human beings, it is inevitable to face moral dilemmas in life. When it comes to decision making of a complex situation, individuals often consider their own values and consequences to their actions. Hernando Tellez s Lather and Nothing Else and Edith Pargeter s The Purple Children demonstrate the conflicts a person has with themselves when approached with a challenging situation which requires decision making. The barber from Lather and Nothing Else and the sentry from The Purple Children demonstrate the importance of placing one s own values as a priority when making a difficult choice because it will allow the individual to make peace with the outcome. Individuals who give more worth to penalties that would put themselves at risk than those costs that do not affect them as much are more likely to be content with their decisions. For example, the temptation of murderthat the Barber felt when shaving Captain Torres was overruled by the punishments that the Barber would have to encounter, He wouldn t suffer. But what would I do with the body? Where would I hide it? I d have to run, leaving all of this, take cover far, far away. But they would follow me until they ran into me. Captain Torres murderer. He cut his throat while he was shaving him. What a coward (Tellez). This establishes an in depth moral dilemma that the barber encounters when deciding to give in to his temptations or to stick to his values as a person. This conflict represents the flood

One reason for this trust in Drupal is its robust security. Drupal also does its best to protect against the greatest security weakness of every CMS: weak user passwords. Compare And Contrast The Atheistic Beliefs Of Percy Shelley The religious topics in lines VS The atheistic beliefs of Percy Shelley Introduction One of the features of the romantic poetry is the effort to escape from the conventional world and controlling society. Majorly, for the romantic poets there were two main ways to achieve that: through the connection with the nature and/or the creation another better place and conditions through the imagination. Along with the poverty, restrictions, child abuse and others, Death was one of the most popular topics attracting the attention of almost all romantic minds, who desired to find the answers to the mystery of death, because in the world, which is full of various limitations and problems, the death was considered as an analogy to the freedom. However, when we are plugged into this new digital world, are we really connecting with people? Are we utilizing our time wisely, are we focusing on important things in life, and are we even in control of our behaviors online? Central to understanding technology and its intersection with the self is to ask the question, Who is our online identity? This question sparked a lot of discussions among me and my close friends who are more critical and pessimistic than me about the direction of the internet and social media. Indeed, with the boom of social media, more people than ever are exposing themselves to a greater audience. As a result, the concept of branding comes into place online, because it is the way we curate and craft our identities or who want to project online. At the same time, social media, while it is great to filter and connect with mass numbers of people, is lacking in real connections. Interestingly enough, social media is the one area in our life that blurs the divide between the private sphere and public sphere, because there is a type of online voyeurism that exists: we see into the small, perfectly curated window of another person s life while also crafting our own window to select what other may see into our own lives. As clandestine participants of social media, voyeurism has given us the inhumane ability to desensitize: where it has made people comfortable with watching

Throughout time men have developed and perpetuated the expectation that a woman exists to fulfill male s sexual needs. Manis the superior being and his ideal women is one that will unquestionably submit to his domination (201). Moreso, men s domination over women places women into state of dependence. Women are largely reliant on men for economic necessities and security. However, women s reliance on men leaves the vulnerable to males oppression on them. Male oppression places significant burden on women yet, male does not need to take responsibility or place any concern to the fact of how oppressive their superiority is on women because it is intended by nature and thus nature endows men with the right to oppress. Furthermore, women are oppressed because to men, they are a possession that men behold, objects used within their lives to fulfill their domestic needs within the home, their sexual needs both for pleasure and to procreate, and to nature the future generation of men and women where masculine dominance and feminine subjectivity will continue to persist. Neo-Marxist Filmmakers Neo Marxist filmmakers were greatly influenced by Althusser s theory of ideology, which viewed film as an ideological apparatus that tried to determine how films turn viewers into their subject, and encourage them to believe not only in the represented reality, but also in their preferred one, the one that could not exist without their structuring. For example, the Jean Louis Baudry s article Ideological effects of the Basic Cinematographic Apparatus (1985) says that the making of movies is a results of the recent capitalism s need to restore in people minds the illusion of having control over their own lives. The illusion was needed for their willing participation in the new industrial style of production that actually took away the remains of their self control. Baudry found ideological properties in the film apparatus itself that constitute a transcendental concentrated subject, and therefore induce a willingness to cooperate with the capitalist mode of production. An observer who accepts the position set by a painting, whereby his or hers eye overlays the painting s point of view, experiences the full illusion of depth. This effect has a strong ideological outcome since, in ideological terms, the painting arranges the viewer space in a centered and organized form that appears to originate from the painting. Post traumatic stress disorder and TBI can present with similar symptoms of cognitive impairment, which further complicates the process of making an accurate diagnosis (Tanev, Pentel, Kredlow, Charney, 2014). Injuries associated with TBI are divided into two categories: primary injuries and secondary injuries. Primary injuries are the direct physical damage incurred at the moment the trauma occurs. Secondary brain injuries occur indirectly as a result of trauma and usually appear hours or days after the initial injury. Secondary injuries exist as result of or separate from the initial injury. They cause complications such as hemorrhaging, alterations in intracranial pressure (ICP), and neurological deficits. Deterioration can occur even after patients have been downgraded from critical status. Approximately 40% of all cases of TBI deteriorate after hospitalization. These complications are a major cause of death in people with a TBI (Narayan et al., 2002).
