The document discusses three sports websites that the author has researched: Bromley Times, Sky Sports, and BBC Sport. For each website, the author likes features such as the neutral color scheme, search bar, layout, use of logos and branding, and inclusion of popular sports and live updates. However, the author notes BBC Sport's page feels overcrowded. The author wants to incorporate useful features like sections for top stories and live links when designing their own local sports website.

Epistemic Interaction - tuning interfaces to provide information for AI supportAlan Dix
Paper presented at SYNERGY workshop at AVI 2024, Genoa, Italy. 3rd June 2024
https://alandix.com/academic/papers/synergy2024-epistemic/
As machine learning integrates deeper into human-computer interactions, the concept of epistemic interaction emerges, aiming to refine these interactions to enhance system adaptability. This approach encourages minor, intentional adjustments in user behaviour to enrich the data available for system learning. This paper introduces epistemic interaction within the context of human-system communication, illustrating how deliberate interaction design can improve system understanding and adaptation. Through concrete examples, we demonstrate the potential of epistemic interaction to significantly advance human-computer interaction by leveraging intuitive human communication strategies to inform system design and functionality, offering a novel pathway for enriching user-system engagements.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. 1. This is the first website that I’ve researched into. I have decided to research into Bromley Times sport section due to it being linked to another local paper. I have decided to look at a website that targets the local area to see how they have gone about attracting their audience. I wanted to look at how they laid the page out and the sort of features included within the website. I also wanted to look at the photography they used to see what sorts of images are used on websites and they attract their target audience. I also wanted to see what other features are used such as search bars.
Bromley Times
-308610323850
There are a variety of features that i like about this Bromley Times website. I like the fact that the colour scheme is neutral making the page look professional. I like the white background due to it not making the page look overcrowded. The white background also makes everything else on the page stand out. This is a feature that i would like to apply to my website. Another feature that i like is the search bar. I like this because it answers any queries that people have when visiting websites. I like the fact that the stories are split up by a plain blue line dividing the website into sections. However i think that this web page looks a bit bland. When designing my website i will think about the layout carefully so that i don’t over crowd the page but at the same time put enough information on to prevent the page from looking bland.
This is the second sports website that i have researched into. I have chosen to look at the Sky Sports website due to the majority of people in today’s society looking up to Sky as the leading sports provider. The website itself offers allot of information, which is use full on a national scale but as i am producing a website for a local paper i don’t think that i have to go into much detail when producing the website. Due to my website being based on local news there won’t be as much sporting events happening, so the pages wont contain as much information as Sky uses. I like the fact that the colours used are very bright which gives the sense that allot is going on. Sky Sports
19050490855
There are a variety of features that i like about this web page. I like the fact that they had included live streaming and videos within the website. This alone is a feature that will attract people to visit the website. When designing my website i would like to include one of these features within the page. Another feature that i like is the layout of the page. I like the fact that they have included ‘Top Story’ section. This highlights the latest and most important sport news, this is a feature that the majority of people will look at before reading any stories to see what stories are most important. I would like to include this within my website, due to the fact that the majority of people would like to see this feature included within a website. Another feature that i like is that they have used the company’s logo and its colours around the page. This allows people straight away to relate the website with Sky. This is a feature that i want to include within my website. I want to use the same colours as my paper so that people instantly relate my paper and website together.
This is the third website that I’ve researched into. I have decided to look at BBC Sport for a variety of reasons. I like the fact that this website includes a variety of different sports. This allows people who visit the website to view a variety of sports instead of a small majority. I like the fact that they include live links, giving the viewers up to date news frequently. I like the colours used within the web page. They are very vibrant and make the page stand out. I like the fact that there is a search bar included within the page, this allows people to type any queries that they have into the search bar which will hopefully answer the questions. I like that there are a variety of different links available to the viewers, allowing them to explore other aspects of the website.
BBC Sport
Within this website page there is allot going on offering a variety of different options for the viewer. However i think that the page is to overcrowded for my liking, there is too much going on which means that the viewer has too much choice. There are a variety of features that i will like to use on my website. I like the fact that the page offers a variety of different sports allowing people to explore more than just popular sports such as football. I would also like to include the live links section on my page because this allows my audience to see the latest up to date news. Due to my paper being a local paper i don’t think that i will include sports such Moto Gp due to it not being a popular sport in the area that i am targeting. 207645947420
