The document provides an analysis of the layout, design, and content of multiple websites. For one website, it notes that the masthead is prominently displayed in the top right corner using contrasting colors. Navigation bars are displayed horizontally below the masthead for easy access. The website has a clean design with bold colors, high quality images, and easy-to-use navigation. Another website analyzed has a bold masthead logo against a red background, reflecting the colors of a local sports team. It contains news, events, and social media links to engage the regional audience. Both websites effectively use images, colors, and layouts to clearly present content and guide users.
2. The masthead is easy to see as is
stands out in the top right corner. The
reason for this is the colours they have
used, the masthead is dark against a
white background. It is easy to identify
the company as they have used their
logo.
Navigation bars are shows
across the page underneath the
masthead. This makes it easy to
use and quick if you want to
read/look at a specific area of
interest.
This website has good usability,
it has easy access to links in
different areas. Makes it look
very professional.
The colour scheme used on this website is very
bold. They have kept the background white
which is plain and simple, then used colourful
images and black text so that they stand out.
This is a good way of making it look interesting
and draw people in.
It has an icon for contact details. This is good
if another company wants to collaborate
or if a reader wants to contact them for
some reason.
The images used on this website look
very interesting.
They are of high quality and make the
website look very professional. A lot
of colour is used, which make it nice
to look at, and it looks like each image
is a hyperlink to another area. That
makes it really easy to read about one
of the articles on the home page.
Looking at this website, I feel like the
genre is indie/culture. Just by looking
at the links you can see the different
areas of culture, and the images
suggest an indie style.
The layout of this website really appeals to me. I really
like the way the images and text are situated as it is
easy to read, and looks very organized. They just all fit
together like a jigsaw puzzle which I think makes it look
more interesting rather than in being all over the place.
There is a search box which is
an essential convention for a
website as it allows the viewer
to navigate the web page easily.
3. This website is very similar to the crack website.
The company's logo/masthead on this
website is very bold, which is good as it
stands out to the audience. It takes up
quite a lot of space, but it still looks
effective. With the masthead being
white, and the background being red,
the contrast between the two colours
blend well in order for the masthead to
stand out as well as the word
‘Sunderland’ which is vertical down
one letter.
This website also has a catch line which is ‘If
its on its in – the Sunderland magazine’. So it
is saying that it is the best regional magazine
for Sunderland. It is situated just underneath
the masthead so that it will catch your eye
and stand out.
The images on the website are all high
quality. They are the style of images I will be
using for my own design. They are a mixture
of places, people and events which is useful
for me as it gives me ideas of where and
what I can photograph.
Social media links are included which give
easy access to people who may be interested
in liking their social media. These are also
useful to have on a website and come under
an essential convention.
Again, this magazine has a search box, just like
any other websites out there. It allows the
viewer to navigate their way around and find
information they are interested in.
The layout of this magazine is also similar to
the Crack website. It has its images in a
bundle, then the hyperlinks are all in the same
place at the top. It just makes it easier for the
target audience to communicate and use the
website without being confused or not
knowing how to get to a certain area.
It also has additional hyperlinks to subscriptions, twitter
and the news. So it is also informing the viewers of news
around Sunderland, and allowing the target audience to
tweet/email.
I understand the colour scheme of this
website because it is from me region. The
colours red and white are the colours of
the Sunderland football club. This makes it
feel and look regional because anyone
from Sunderland are aware of these
colours as it represents the City of
Sunderland. The colours aren't too
overpowering r bright, so it looks neutral
and easy to see/read. The different shades
of red make it look more put together
rather than just using the same colour red
and white, it makes it look that little bit
more interesting. It also categorizes
different links to the website, which is a
good way rather than using other colours.
