FILMING SESSIONS

SESSION #1
Over the shoulder and high angle
In this shot we have our three actors during filming for our
very last scene where we have the apprentices talking about
their mission.
For this scene we captured a high angle over the shoulder
shot. By doing this we are giving the audience prospective of
the two apprentices and showing the power of the main
apprentice.
We captured these angles by placing a camera on a tripod to
keep the camera steady and by placing the mounted camera
on the still table. This gave the camera elevation to enable us
to get the high angle.
The camera work of this shot worked well as it gave us two
different camera shots in one scene.
However, to improve we will need to change the Mise en
Scene , we will change the location of where we filmed. You
can clearly see that the location is a year 7 class room which
instantly kills the mood of the scene.
For our next draft we will have to change the location. We
should use a blacked out drama room where there are lights
which will create chiaroscuro lighting. This will mean the
scene will be more realistic as the location will not be
revealing and will not resemble a classroom as well as we will
be incorporating a under lit room which will also add tension.

SESSION #2
Panoramic pan shot
For this shot, we went to our third location,
Reigate Avenue Recreation Ground. In this
scene this shot will be the very first shot
displayed. The audience will be give a panoramic
pan of this location. This will allow the audience
to see where the scene is being set. This could
act as establishing shot as the audience are
being introduced to a new location.
We captured this shot by putting the camera on a
tripod acting as a stabilizer. We started taking the
shot from the far left then panned it to the the far
right.
By doing this it is giving the audience the feeling
of the scene and showing them that its just a
normal field. This would connect to the audience
as they are just normal people and what happens
in this movie could also happen to them.
Close-up, high angle of prop
For this shot we got our fake blood then put it on the grass
where our actor laid as if they where dead. Once we had
the blood in place we then got our actor in place for the
shot next to the fake blood. We then put our camera on the
tripod to give stabilization then took a high angle and close
up of the blood and the actor.
By having both of these shots it allowed the audience to
see both he blood and character in detail. This will create
tension as they are still unaware of who this person is and
what has killed him. This will build up tension throughout
this opening. We aren't giving any information away other
than the appearance of who has been killed and where he
has been killed. This will cause the audience to start
asking questions enticing them into the film.
The improvement of this shot ill come into the editing
stage. We will need to edit the colours and contrast to
make the blood stand out as the blood. After we put the
blood on the ground, the grass started to absorb the blood
making it less visible. By editing the contrast the blood will
become more visible.
Another improvement could be that we could put a tissue
into the scene which is covered in blood next to the actor.
This would also make the blood stand out on white
cloth/tissue making it more obvious to what is happening.
