2. SCREEN SHOT #1
Firstly, this screenshot depicts a still from
when we were in London, the program we
used to edit is Adobe Premiere Pro. It
demonstrates the use of the text on screen
which is located to the top left of the shot
which needs to be adjusted into seeming
more professional and creating a meaning
for the story in relation to the audience. This
makes us consider the traditional method of
arranging the titles within films.
During the shot the audience can see that our mise en scene is correct as we are both wearing the
costumes that we presented within the costume and props list. This informs people that we stick to our
route and plans. However, I wore additionally items of clothing like my trainers and my jacket which
weren't planned.

Within this scene, we implemented the use
of a tracking shot which highlights that we
are the main protagonists throughout the
story. This can therefore be clearly cut/set to
the audience. When editing we had to
structure our soundtracks and music properly
which was completed by using the effect
called audio gain which allowed me to
increase or decrease the audio. This is a
clear set example of a score. As it makes the
scene set in a sad/emotional mood.
When filming this shot we had to maximise our potential of having high-key lighting which is why we
stuck with the plan filming during the daytime. The camerawork also implies that it could be a long shot
since you see both of the protagonists to their full extent.

Within the outer frame we highlight the
famous landmark ‘Big Ben’ which signifies
that it’s the most important viewpoint where
were filming the shot. On the left hand side
of the screen it broadens to the audience
the use of sound which is our score and we
are clearly cropping the parts we think are
going to create the most meaning within
our opening sequence.
The tracking shot signifies to the audience that we are both going to an important location in relation to
our story that we are trying to present.

5. SUMMARY
Overall, I think that our first editing session went well. This is further implied because we had
no trouble using sound effects and transitions to make our opening sequence flow better. In
relation to this we mainly used fade in’s and fade out’s, as well as using audio gain to increase
or decrease the level of sound within our song or background noise. In correlation, the song
has a sad, emotional tone which emphasized the murder demonstrated at the beginning of the
opening sequence. This further initiates the story to begin. However, the effect of this is that
other events will unravel which could be reflected in a positive or negative manner. For the
location we highlighted it so it could stand out to our audience who don’t live in London, this is
because we used very famous landmarks e.g. London Eye and Big Ben. This was completed
by using tracking shots to follow our protagonists and zooms to develop the use of the
location, therefore seeming more important. Lastly, the text that was implemented into our first
draft looks professional by the use of the font, the color and the placement of it. This is
because we followed the traditional style of other films.
