1. Unit 1: L01B- The
Descent; Camera & Micro
Analysis
Kashmi
2. Close Up
This picture is of a
Close Up; close
ups always show
the main part of a
person/object
which gives detail
of what it is & what
it’s doing. In this
case, it’s of Jess’s
mum Sarah, about
to wake up in
hospital following
the car crash that
killed her daughter.
3. Cutaway
This is a Cutaway shot which
is showing something else
that’s within the scene but not
focusing on the main
object/person. This case is of
the heart monitor that Sarah
was attached on during her
time in hospital. It’s also a
Close Up as the detail of the
monitor can clearly be seen.
4. Medium
This is a Medium Shot that
does show the whole
person/object whilst some
impression of it is shown.
This shows Sarah being
stopped by her friend Beth
just before being told that
Jess had sadly been killed
in the accident.
5. Medium Close Up
This is a Medium Close
Up shot. Just like a
close up, it shows
detail of the
person/object but this
time in less detail and
further away. This shot
is also high angled.
6. Point of View
This is a Point of View
shot which shows the
person/object from a
different position. This
shows Sarah running to try
& find Jess within the main
part of the hospital.
7. Steady Camera
This is a Steady Camera
shot which is taken whiles
the person/object is on the
move. This shows Sarah
running to try & find Jess
within the real Hospital.
8. Trombone
This is a Trombone shot
which is done via
tracks that are used
within many film
productions. It shows
the camera zooming
into the person/object
while’s the camera
operator physically
zooms out. This shows
Sarah’s world falling
apart with the look of
her face suggesting bad
news about Jess.
9. Wide
This is a Wide Shot
as the shot takes up
the full frame. This
shows Sarah looking
very worried &
disorientated at the
prospect of Jess
being killed in the
crash.
10. Why the elements were
used
The elements (Camera angles) used within the movie were to ensure that
every aspect of the film can be covered in a different way. The fair share
of each angle being used made sure all the scenes were covered
properly as well as ensuring the angles were used in the right parts of the
film. Also, the use of the angles which were used gave made the movie
look even better-more dynamic shall I say.
