3. Criticism
While filming my Preliminary task, a tripod wasn’t used
resulting in shaky recording. It also didn’t help that a
proper camera was not used and that a camera phone
was used to record video & audio.
There wasn’t much to the video, there was two shots
from behind the shoulders of the two characters. The
dialogue was also pretty basic, no additional music was
used. The scene was pretty bland and boring, I made no
major mistakes but the final product was very, very
simple.
6. Improvements
Like in my Preliminary Task, the 180 degree was used
but it was rather basic. In my film opening it was used to
show the character leaving his house.
The editing was smooth in the opening, also a tripod was
used compared to Preliminary Task, giving it a more
professional look.
Music was used in the film opening to create
atmosphere, sound effects were also put in that were
found on the internet.
I used a more dynamic range of camera shots. For
example I used a pan shot to show a danger of death
sign, deciding the fate of the criminal.
7. Differences
In my preliminary task the 180 Degree Rule is used
to show a conversation between two people, but in
the film opening it is used to show a character
leaving a house. There was no conversation had
between two people in my film opening to use it for
its main purpose.
8. Editing
The continuity editing in the film opening really help
video flow without adding bad transitions to piece the
video together. I am happy with my final product, I
have improved.
Match on action is seen when the criminal is leaving
the house, the edit was timed perfectly with the
doors being opened then shut. Match on action
wasn’t seen in the preliminary task.
