James Picken outlines the key production roles for an upcoming film shoot:
1) The director, James Picken, will oversee all aspects of production to ensure high quality standards, including instructing the camera operator and sound recordist, ensuring actors are prepared, and organizing props and costumes.
2) The camera operator, Richard O'Connor, will record the different shots as directed and communicate well with the sound recordist.
3) The sound recordist, Jameel Saleh, will capture all audio to be used in editing and must coordinate closely with the camera operator to avoid interfering with shots.

Production Roles
Director
James Picken role will be to make sure everything is up to standard for shooting including telling the
camera man and sound recordist what to do and making sure they are set up correctly and also
making sure actors know what they are doing and they know their lines so that few mistakes and
retakes are made during filming. He will have to make sure everything is set up correctly so that the
film can be at the best standards it can be and organising props and costumes.
Camera Man
Richard O’Connor will be our camera man for this production his role will be to record the film and
his main role will to be filming different angles and listening to where the director wants the camera
man to be. Also good communication with the sound recordist is needed so the microphone doesn’t
get in the way of shots.
2. James Picken IG3 Task 1
Sound Recordist
JameelSaleh will be recording sounds for our film. His job will be too record any sound made by
environment and actors so that is clear on the film and can be used during editing. He will have to
work well with the Camera man so that the microphone does not get in any shots during the film.
