Know about file and folder

2. File
It is single data file which keep specific information in different format.
We save or store the file in system with specific file name
– AICT.jpg
1. Primary Name(AICT)
2. Secondary or Extension name(.jpg)

3. Different type of Extension name
 Text File
.txt, .doc, .docx, .xls, .xlsx, .ppt, .pptx, .pdf
 Audio File
.mp3, .amr, .aac, .wav
 Video File
.mpeg, .dat, .flv, .mov, .vob, .avi, 3gp, .mp4
 Picture File
.jpg, .jpeg, .bmp, .png
 Internet File
.html, .xml, .mhtml

4. How to see the extension name of file
Open my computer- Tools- Folder option- View tab- uncheck “ hide
extensions for known file types

5. Create folder and properties
Left click in mouse- New- “Folder”- Rename Folder
Select folder- Right Click- Properties- to view the detail of folder like
folder size, folder created date etc.

6. Change Folder icon
Select Folder-Properties- Customize -Change icon- Select any icon-
ok- apply- ok

7. Change Folder icon
Select Folder-Properties- Customize -Change icon- Select any icon-
ok- apply- ok
