Misunderstood Fractures
Medline Plus defines a traumatic fracture as a trauma sustained by a fall or an auto accident; also
known as a broken bone, this is when the bone cracks or breaks during a high impact situation. The
traumatic fracture can also be stress fractures where the bone breaks due to overuse whereas a
compound or open fracture tend to cut through the skin. Compound fractures, unlike a closed or
simple fracture which is hard to see because it does not protrude through the surface. But one of the
most misunderstood fractures is the sacral fracture located at the bottom of the spine its noted on
Orthobullets website as being a fracture resulting from a neurologic compromise that affects both the
elderly and young adults alike. While pathologic fractures

Panera Bread Company Swot Analysis Essay
Strengths of the Organization This case study identified many strengths Panera Bread has including
those dating back to Au Bon Pain Company; however, this section will only identify those strengths
associated with the current position of Panera Bread Company. First and foremost is customer service.
The company has been awarded with two major customer service awards including the J.D. Power and
Associates restaurant satisfaction study which ranked Panera Bread highest among quick service
restaurants in the Midwest and Northeast regions of the United States in all categories (C 162).
Customer loyalty is another key to Panera s success. Studies from the case show that Panera has a high
rate of returning customers once Panera has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Panera Bread s commitment to freshness could potentially serve as a weakness if one of their dough
distribution centers were temporarily unable to produce the required amount of fresh dough for the
locations it serves. Whether this be a processing issue or if the company was unable to use a key
ingredient because of food recalls or if an ingredient became more limited in supply, the company
would struggle to provide its full menu.
Opportunities in the Environment The biggest opportunity the case study presented was the untapped
markets that Panera could potentially expand to including large U.S. cities and in the international
markets. Exhibit three on page C 166 of the case study shows the markets where Panera Bread has
limited or no presence. Each of these cities provides potential opportunities for the company. With
Panera s high rate of return, in the sense of customers returning to the restaurant once they have tried
it once, the company needs to strive to get more first time customers in the door. To do this they need
to raise the quality of awareness . . . and boost trial dinning at multiple meal times (C 169). In addition
to getting first time customers the company also needs to strive to get customers to come in for meals
that they usually do not eat at Panera. For example, the case explained that most individuals who come
in for lunch will only consider

The Impact Of Fragmentation Process On Genetic Diversity...
CHAPTER FIVE
5.0 The Impact of Fragmentation Process on Genetic Diversity and Gene flow.
Fragmentation impacts on gene and genetic function are likely to reduce ecosystem stability through
reducing resistance and resilience. Resilience describes the speed with which a system returns to its
former state after displacement, while resistance is its ability to avoid displacement to begin with
(Begon et al., 2005).
Forest fragmentation has three main effects on species diversity
a) Reduction of overall numbers of individuals
b) Reduction of mean population sizes as individuals are restricted to small fragments
c) Spatial isolation of remaining populations within a non forest like land use matrix.
The genetic results of these changes are mediated by their effects on the main genetic processes of
genetic drift, gene flow, selection and mating. These processes determine the amount of genetic
diversity found within a species and how it is portioned among individuals and populations across its
geographical range.
The three most obvious possible genetic effects of forest fragmentation are
a) Loss of genetic diversity at the population and species level
b) Change in inter population structure
c) Increased inbreeding.
These effects suggest several causes for concern. In terms of in situ conservation, low genetic
variation limits a species ability to respond to changing environmental conditions through selection,
while changes in inter population structure may alter the scale at which

The Search For Prosperity In Mac s In Dubious Battle
In today s world, it seems everyone is fueled to work only towards the dream of wealth. Without the
promise of payment, people will turn their back on their neighbor without a second thought and
continue on the search for prosperity. In the novel In Dubious Battle, we meet Mac, a hard working
party member doing everything in his power to help struggling laborers make the wage they were
promised before setting out for the California apple orchards. Almost immediately after the strike
begins, Mac comes to the realization that there likely is no chance of the workers winning the strike,
yet he continues to fight for his beliefs. Some may interpret this as selfish for risking the lives of these
workers, however this is undoubtedly false as Mac risks his own life alongside the other strikers. Mac
also has no financial reward for helping with the strike and is spending his time educating the workers
a valuable lesson on how to strike that will help them in the larger strike that Mac sees ominously
approaching. From the moment Mac arrives on the apple orchard, we see that he is not afraid to risk
his own life for the sake of the party. In a conversation with Jim, Mac reveals how the party is larger
than any single member, no matter how important that member may be. Mac goes on to express that
he is willing to give up his own life in the wake of a larger, nation wide strike he foresees coming very
soon. Mac expresses this idea to Jim, saying if I go out now it won t matter. The

Osmosis Diffusion Lab
Title
Osmosis : How Water Diffuses
Introduction
The plasma membrane, the outside barrier of the cell is selectively permeable, allowing certain
substances to cross more easily than others. When a cell is put in a solution, passive transport,
diffusion, and osmosis occurs. During passive transport, diffusion of a substance takes place across a
membrane without energy contribution, because of diffusion, the tendency for molecules to spread
out. Net movement allows substances to move in one direction. Many molecules and hydrocarbons
diffuse down the concentration gradient, moving from a high concentration to a low concentration.
Without diffusion, osmosis cannot occur, osmosis is diffusion of water. During osmosis in animal and
plant cells, tonicity, ability to cause a cell to gain or lose water, causes three different solutions,
isotonic, hypertonic, and hypotonic. The purpose of the experiment ... Show more content on

Questions
Explain why osmosis and diffusion are important to cells?
Osmosis and diffusion are important to cells because they do not require energy(ATP) to transport
molecules across, such as water and oxygen molecules, which are needed in the cell to function.
Without diffusion, osmosis cannot occur. And without osmosis, the water molecules is not a able to
move from a high concentration to a low concentration.
Describe what is meant by the term selectively permeable and explain the role of selectively
permeable membrane in osmosis Selectively permeable membranes main functions is to regulate the
movement of substances entering and exiting the cell. It allows the exchange of nutrients between the
cell and its environment. Osmosis allows the animal cell to stay at a isotonic solution allowing water
molecules to enter or exit to stabilize the cell to be able to stay at the right type of solution.
Describe the effects of hypertonic, isotonic, and hypotonic solutions on animal and plant

Essay on Dealing with Aggression
Dealing with Aggression
Abstract
We live in a society where aggressive acts happen every day, but do we really know what causes it?
How can we help ourselves and others to understand what aggression is? First off, we need to define
aggression, tell it s causes and effects and determine the best way to deal with it. For example,
aggression can be positive or negative, accidental or intended and physical or mental. Aggression is a
continuing behavior in our world today and I feel that it is very important that we try to start
controlling it now.
Aggression is a critical part of animal existence, which is a driving force to humans, as we too are
animals. The source of aggression within humans is an ongoing list so therefore, ... Show more

Aggression can fall under a number of forms. Due to its relative nature, aggression is extremely hard
to isolate and study. A major distinction made in animal studies of aggression, and one that may well
have profound implications for human aggression, is the difference between offensive and defensive
aggression (Feshbach, Zagrodzka 1997). Much research has already been done indicating that
different brain sites mediate predation and defensive aggression. Aggression can take many different
paths. The act of hitting a wall to release aggression has some of the same roots as playing football
and enjoying hitting the quarterback. A child yelling at their parents could be equated in its
aggressiveness with someone honking their horn when they get cut off driving. Psychologist Arlene
Stillwell performed an experiment where she assigned ordinary college students at random to play the
role of a victim or a perpetrator in a small incident. Then she asked the students to describe the
situation that had just happened. What she found was that both victims and perpetrators deformed the
truth equally to present their sides in a better light. Victims would dwell on their lasting traumas from
the incident while the perpetrator might make the act seem like a one time action provoked by
insurmountable circumstances. The resulting implication is that aggression is in the eye of the

Professor Youssef
INTRODUCTION:
Bacteria are the smallest living organisms, they are prokaryotic and have a simple cell structure. They
do not contain a nucleus, and are unicellular. Bacteria are the most abundant microorganism. They are
among the earliest forms of life that appeared on earth billions of years ago. They can grow in
different temperatures and many exist naturally in our human flora, such as staphylococci. Growth
within different temperatures can range from 0 degrees Celsius such as psychrotrophs, to
hyperthermophiles who grown best above 70 degrees Celsius (Ritchey, Exercise 16). Bacteria have
many shapes, size, and multicell arrangements. The main bacteria shapes are cocci (spherical or ovoid
shaped), bacilli (straight rods), coccobacillus (short rods), fusiform bacillus (rod shaped bacilli with
tapered ends), vibrio (curved rods), spirillum (single spiral bacteria), and spirochete (if it is flexible
and undulating). Bacteria can form multicell arrangements, such as diplococcus (two cell
arrangements) (. Bacteria are usually named for their shape or multicell arrangement, but cannot be
truly identified by just those characteristics (Strelkauskas, Edwards, Fanhert, Pryor, 2016). Bacteria
can be classified by the way they stain. They are clear under a microscope and require staining to be
seen. To stain a bacteria, one takes a dye to color the cells. There are basic dyes that contain

American Indian Religious Freedom Act
Prior to the Second World War, religious places remained untouched as they were mainly located in
rural areas. However, the period after the Second World War was characterized by an increase in
population, corporate farming, a more vibrant timber industry as well as an expanded recreational
industry. This change resulted in less respect for the public land, and the situation was made worse by
the proliferation of state and federal agencies that have no respect for the public land. It thus becomes
difficult for the Native Indians to have access to shrines as the politicians promulgated rules that
disregarded public land particularly places of worship. One such narrow minded law that has failed to
achieve its ultimate goal is the American Indian Religious Freedom Act that was enacted in 1978. The
law made it clear the government efforts of protecting the religious rights of the American Indians not
only to express their belief but also to practice this believes through traditional religion. However, this
law faced major blows especially on the corridors of justice where the Court viewed the Congress
action in enacting the American Indian Religious Freedom Act as efforts of the government to
establish a state religion.
Instead of the government respecting the right of the Indians to maintain their religious places, it
invokes its power as the custodian of the public land by claiming that it has the mandate of utilizing
any piece of public land for the benefit of the entire

The Worst Damage Of Sonoma County
Earthquakes are something that happen every day all around the world. Most earthquakes are very
small and go unfelt, however every once and while there are massive earthquakes that cause
tremendous damage to life and property. Sonoma County has a lot of fault lines running through it.
These faults line are; the San Andreas Fault, the Rodgers Creek Fault, the Maacama Fault and the
Healdsburg Fault. Since 1855, there have been more than 140 earthquakes that have actually been felt
where we live in Santa Rosa Area Of the earthquakes that have cause damage, the worst damage was
caused by; 1906 San Francisco Earthquake, 1969 Rodgers Creek/ Healdsburg Fault Earthquake, 1989
Loma Prieta Earthquake, 1994 Northridge Earthquake. We should use the data of past earthquakes in
our area to help come up with a plan in case there is another major earthquake in Sonoma County.
Data suggests that there is a 63% probability of at least one magnitude 6.7 or greater earthquake
striking somewhere in the San Francisco Bay Area before the year 2032. The key to surviving and
earthquake is to be prepared. Earthquakes are caused when two blocks of earth suddenly slip past one
another. The surface where the two blocks slip is called the fault. The earthquake starts below the
earth s surface at the hypocenter, and the location above the hypocenter is called the epicenter.
Earthquakes can have foreshocks which is a smaller earthquake that happens before the larger quake.
Earthquake can also

Alexander The Great Success
Alexander the Great is a popular figure back in the time of Greece s rise. His name still catches our
attention till this very day, it wasn t a normal occurrence for a young man, age, to conquer the known
world. Our goal is to learn what made Alexander the Great so great? He once said, There is nothing
impossible to him who will try. He definitely believed in achieving his goals not only for himself, but
for his empire to grow and be as successful as possible. Alexander was born to Phillip II of Macedonia
and Olympias, the princess of Epirus, in 356 BCE. As a young boy, Alexander did not see his father
much due to the fact that Phillip II was constantly with his army in battles. Olympias managed to

The generals awaited the child s birth to determine what to do with the large empire, but had high
hopes to split it among the four of them. Roxana was said to send for Stateira II to be murdered to
ensure that Roxana s child for Alexander would get the throne. It is debated whether or not Parysatis II
was killed by Roxana as well, but many believe that Roxana would do whatever it took to make sure
Alexander IV would be Alexander the Great s successor. Later in 310 B.C. Roxana and the thirteen
year old Alexander IV were murdered to ensure the splitting of the kingdom among the generals was a
bulletproof plan. Thus ending Alexander the Great s son possibility of coming to know the empire his
father had built. In conclusion, saying Alexander the Great s legacy was amazing is an understatement.
To know that a man only took 13 years and managed to build an entire empire out of the whole known

conquered the whole known world in thirteen years, had military strategies that outdid all the rest, and

My Personal Experience With Heavenly Mother
Heavenly Mother, the New Jerusalem is the female image of God that gives eternal life in the Last
Days. For thousands of years people have known we have a Father in Heaven. What many still do not
know is that there is a prophecy being fulfilled right now, this very moment. This states that wo not
only have a Father in Heaven, but we also have a Heavenly Mother who is being revealed in the Last
Days to give us eternal life. I can truly believe in The New Jerusalem because I have personal
experience with her, the Bible clearly testifies about her as the spiritual life giver, and anyone can see
evidence of this fact even in nature.Through my personal experience with Heavenly Mother, I can say

I came for the nest Sabbath day and that day I was baptized. That hole was filled, my heart was full,
and it knew that Heavenly Mother had saved my soul.Among the many prophecies in the Bible, one of
the most important is that concerning Heavenly Mother who gives life. Jesus came to this Earth about
two thousand years ago and he taught his disciples the way through which they could receive
salvation, that is, the Passover (Jn 6:53.) Even at that time hecould have given eternal life and taken
them to Heaven, but instead he told them to wait until the Last Days (Jn 6:54.) This is because that is
the time Heavenly Mother appears. In Matthew 22:1 10 Jesus told a parable, in which he compared the
Kingdom of Heaven to a wedding banquet. Being invited to thewedding banquet is the same as being
invited to the Kingdom of Heaven. To have a wedding there must be a groom, a bride, and guests. In
the parable there is a groom, and guests, but no bride even thoughthe bride is the most important piece
of a wedding. This is because she was not ready at Jesus s firstcoming, but at his second coming. That
s why Revelations 19:7 NIV says Let us rejoice and be glad and give him Glory! For the wedding of
the Lamb(Christ) has come, and his bride has made herself ready! The bride is ready in the Last Days.
Rev 21:9 10 say that this bride is the New Jerusalem coming down out of Heaven. Just as Jesus is not
a physical lamb, this Jerusalem is not

Social anxiety is not fun, but maybe one day with the help of DnD people can eventually overcome it.
I believe that DnD will be able to help deal with mental afflictions like anxiety and depression. Many
people struggle with interacting with other people, but that is not a bad thing. It is unfortunate at some
times, but eventually they will have a bad social experience. DnD is not used to perfect their social
choices, but more to make sure they can cope with the bad choices. When they swing at that dragon
they better be know what they are getting into, and the same when they may be offered drugs. They
must make the right choice and hopefully DnD will help them through. Life skills are skills obtained
through experience, good or bad they always learn something. With DnD maybe the bad does not have
to have the same harsh consequences as real life. To summarize that is the main point of Dungeons

Trade Agreements Facilitate The Free Exchange Of Goods And...
Trade agreements facilitate the free exchange of goods and services between nation states, and
contribute to varying degrees to complete economic integration between two or more states. Autarky
refers to a non trading status, a phenomenon rarely seen in today s increasingly integrated globe. The
steps taken to fully integrate are referred to as stages, a categorization that makes evident the
variability in degree of integration. At the first stage, a preferential trade area can be set up as a less
formal means of encouraging trade by enacting preferential tariffs to target specific countries exports
(usually developing countries), in addition to other unilateral trade benefits. Free trade areas are the

NAFTA The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) is an agreement among Mexico,
Canada, and the United States that removes trade tariffs between the three members. Along with the
removal of tariffs, NAFTA created the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC), which
monitors the environmental impact of the agreement. NAFTA was signed on December 8, 1993 by the
Clinton administration, and the agreement went into effect on January 1, 1994. NAFTA has
significantly increased trade between the three countries. This agreement has increased exports for all
countries, while making imports cheaper. For example, the US accounts for 50% of Mexico s imports,
and it accounts for 51% of Canada s imports. The effects of NAFTA on the US economy were smaller
than predicted, and its effect is hard to separate from the general boom of the US economy during the
1990s and early 2000s. While many jobs were created during this period, some critics argue that job
creation and economic growth would have been even greater without NAFTA. Many economists have
done studies to quantify the welfare effects of NAFTA on its member states. One 2015 study estimated
the welfare effect of NAFTA on its member states. It found a welfare increase of 1.31% in Mexico, an
increase of 0.08% in the US, and a welfare decrease of 0.06% in Canada. Although these effects are
very modest, some argue that NAFTA has had more pronounced effects on specific sectors of these
countries

that if you believed in something, which was equality at that time, then you have a moral obligation to

This important message striked the Negro community with no alternative other than to fight for their

This paper will describe the current law and shows the problems and also look for options on
reformation. Following this, the commission will draw up positive proposals for reformation which
will be presented in a report which sets out the research that led to the conclusions. Very often there
will be a bill attached to the report with intent that this is the way that the reform will come into effect.
Lastly, the bill has to enter parliament and has to go through the process from parliament to become
law. This is the aspect of law that creates back log of reforms because parliament often fail to consider
the reforms that are proposed.
The law commission can reform the law in many different ways. Firstly they can do it by repeal, this
is a way of tidying up statutes, they get rid of law, they pass Statutes Law Repeal Act 1995. Another
way they can reform the law is by consolidation, this brings all acts of parliament together on a subject
and put them under one piece of legislation. The final way they can reform law is by Codification.
This is when they bring all law together (common law and statute law) on one subject. This aspect of
law reform is set out in S.3 of the Law Commission Act 1965.
In order to judge the success of the Law Commission we have to consider the areas of law that were to
be reformed and whether those reforms were introduced. The law

MagnaSoles are new shoe inserts for people just like you who have sore feet! Did you fall for these
tactics? Companies use these marketing tactics everyday to convince people just like you to buy their

use. First, the author utilizes strategies from the rhetorical triangle to create a stronger argument about
how the company MagnaSoles convinces customers to buy their product using scientific research. The
text includes ethos to point out how marketing strategies establish the credibility of various speakers

proficient readers than those who are not provided with these skills in an explicit and systematic way.
As formal reading instruction for many students commences in the foundation year of school, it is the
role of the educator to model and explain the key components of literacy to students. Research on
effective reading instruction suggests that students benefit when they learn concepts of print,
phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension (National Reading Panel,
2000). Moreover, reading instruction needs to be supported by effective teaching strategies that
include modelled reading aloud, shared book reading, guided ... Show more content on

Through a balanced approach, educators make decisions on individual student s literacy needs and
select appropriate instructional activities with the goal of developing, value, comprehension, and
enjoyment of reading (Cowan, as cited in National Education Psychological Service [NEPS], 2015, p.
8). However, research concludes there is no definitive description of what a balanced approach to
literacy means and they all have similar elements. To put it another way, effective educators of reading
instruction offer a print rich balanced reading program that incorporates explicit and systematic
instructions in concepts of print, phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and
comprehension. These reading skills develop as educators model and scaffold engaging activities, for
instance, read aloud s, shared, guided, and independent reading, rhymes, and songs. These activities
are the underpinnings of a successful literacy program (Winch, Johnston, March, Ljungdahl, Holliday,
2006, p. 155). A balanced reading approach also provides students opportunities to repeat and practice
skills as educators observe and assess student s abilities. Therefore, educators must explicitly instruct
literacy skills from foundation to year twelve because they are essential to academic growth.
Explicit teaching is a systematic and carefully planned approach that effectively teaches students the
key skills of literacy.

Di Giovanni Essay
Di Giovanni, a senior foreign correspondent for The Times, lived through the Balkan wars in the
former Yugoslavia. This book focuses mainly on the conflict in Kosovo in 1999 but Di Giovanni also
reports on the situation from the initial dissolution of the country up until the attempt at
reconstruction. The author also provides the reader with the historical context of the wars, such as the
events since the death of Tito and especially since 1992. It was in 1991 that the Catholic dominated
Croatia and Slovenia declared themselves independent. This began the armed conflict between Croatia
and Slobodan Milosevic s Serb dominated Yugoslavia. Milosevic was not going to allow the country
to be split up. While the background on Milosevic, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Goal Setting And Attainment
Unit One Essay
Goal setting and attainment appears to be a straightforward proposal. You simply come up with an
obtainable goal and then you work hard to make it a reality. To begin with I give myself short term
and long term goals to achieve. Before I joined the Army my short term goal was to achieve the rank
of Sergeant (E 5). My next short term goal wasn t to just achieve the next rank of Staff Sergeant (E 6)
I wanted to aim a little higher and make Sergeant First Class (E 7) within eight years, which I did. My
long term goal was to ultimately make it to the rank of Sergeant major (E 9). This goal is going to be
harder to achieve, but I know as long as I work hard I will achieve that goal. Goals are great, but
without follow through these goals will never come to fruition. By breaking down goals into smaller
goals a person will gain confidence and can eventually turn those small term goals in long term goals.
I knew that I could not just jump to Sergeant Major and that s why I set small short term goals to
achieve that rank. What is going to make me successful not only in my career, but also in my everyday
life is accomplishing one short term goal at a time. To obtain a Goal it requires steps or processes to
achieve the desired outcome which, according to Tim Harford, includes failure.
In Tim Harford s book Adapt he accepts that in the path to success don t be afraid to fail in the
process. The consequence of disappointment makes versatility, which is a key

Why I Hate Running
Although I hate running just as much as the next sane person, there is still a place that I can go that
makes me fall in love with running just as a toddler might with just about anything that shines or

from their job or to drop the children off at school; however, to me it is an escape. I can run the road
down and back in under a half hour in real time but to me it will feel like centuries. While running on
this specific road time seems to slow down; I have all the time in the world to clear my mind and think

realized that my lungs were the next thing to go. Just imagine having your lungs shrivel up into the
size of a pea and that is only part of the pain my body betrayed me with. As I neared the halfway point
on the seventh tenths of a mile long hill, I felt relieved that I was finally able to run on a lower grade
once more. For those who have not experienced this feeling, just imagine the feeling you get when the
pizza deliveryman finally arrives at your house with your steaming hot and delicious pizza. Now
combine that feeling with the excitement of a small child running down the stairs on Christmas. The
child, having received all he ever imagined and more, is overcome with such emotion which causes
him to burst with laughter. This combination of feelings is nowhere near how ecstatic I was to end my
uphill journey. This excitement is short lived as I once more continue my trek up the agonizing hill.
Only three steps from the plateau, I felt like I should just give up. At this point, a two week old baby
would have a better chance of running up the rest of the hill than I did; however, I remembered a story
that I used to read as a child. There was no particular reason for this memory

Neonatal Nurse Research Paper
Neonatal Nurse I want to be a neonatal nurse who takes care of newborn infants who were born
prematurely. There are some procedures that may be needed for the care of the baby. What I know
about a neonatal nurse is that you need to have a four year bachelors and masters of science in nursing
degree. The reason I m interested in this career is because I want to save lives and make a difference
in the lives of the infants and their families. This career is something I will enjoy doing even if it can
be sad at times. The information I found out about a neonatal nurse was that their duties include
administering medications, monitoring vital signs and providing vital nutrients to newborns. Most
premature and sick newborns have lungs that aren t fully developed, the neonatal nurse must ensure
that infants are breathing and maturing properly. They provide complete care for babies, such as attend
deliveries, weigh and measure infants, bathe them and monitor their health. They also teach new
parents about newborn care and breastfeeding. Hospital work requires nurses to be composed, caring
and in control every second of their shift. Although neonatal nurses witness the miracle of birth every

Evidence Based Outcomes And Utilizing Findings
Evidence Based Outcomes and Utilizing Findings Evidenced based practice (EBP) is now considered
to be best practice but, although great strides have been made in applying the research in practice,
there is still progress to be made. EBP is central to delivering the highest quality healthcare and
ensuring the best outcomes for patients. However, EBP guiding the practice in healthcare systems is
not the norm in many healthcare systems across the United States (Melnyk Fineout Overholt, 2011).
The most overwhelming evidence for using EBP in practice is that is provides better outcomes in
patients and provides a higher quality of care. Therefore, patients are more satisfied, healthcare costs
are reduced and there is a reduction in differences in delivery of care according to geographic area
(Melnyk Fineout Overholt, 2011). Evidence based practice is defined by Polit and Beck (2012) as a
practice that involves making clinical decisions on the best available evidence which is usually from
disciplined research, while research utilization is using an aspect of a study for something else
unrelated to the original research. The two terms are sometimes used synonymously but there is a
distinct difference. In research utilization the emphasis is on translating the information into real word
applications. Evidence based practice (EBP) is broader than research utilization and incorporates
research findings with other factors (Polit Beck, 2012). Many factors work to either facilitate

In the novel Beyond Fundamentalism: Confronting Religious Extremism in the Age of Globalization,
Reza Aslan argues that the war on terror is a cosmic war. Many people studying the issue make the
terrible mistake of overlooking the purpose of the radical jihadist groups located in the Middle East,
such as Al Qaeda and ISIS. Aslan states that although they present a frightening image by hurting and
killing infidels , one of their main purposes is to educate the world on their religious values/goals and

struggle of war. We cannot minimize these actions nor justify them in the name of god, whom many

Today it is in our best interest to encourage everyone s potential by dedicating ourselves to the
continual improvement of our own abilities and those of the people with whom we work and live.
Total Quality is, essentially, a win win approach which works to everyone s ultimate advantage.
According to Deming, no human being should ever evaluate another human being. Therefore, TQM
emphasizes self improvement process. In addition, this principle also laminates to the focusing on
students strengths, individual learning styles, and different types of intelligences. A System of
Ongoing Process The third pillar of TQM as applied in education is the recognition of the organization
as a system and the work done within the organization must be seen as an ongoing process. The
primary implication of this principle is that individual students and teachers are less to blame for
failure than the system in which they work. Quality speaks to working on the system, which must be
examined to identify and eliminate the flawed processes that allow its participants to fail. Since
systems are made in the quality of those processes largely determine the quality of the resulting
product. In the new paradigm of learning , continual improvement of learning outcomes replaces the
outdated teach and test mode. Leadership The fourth TQM principle applied to education is that the
success of TQM is the responsibility of top management. The school teachers must

betrays a feeling of superiority. His sometime overuse of victorious terminology shows complete

Paterson s other purpose of this text is to promote nationalism amongst Australian men, persuading
them to enlist. He deliberately emphasises on how everyone in Australia is an Australian, through this

The Between Saxons And Franks
Out of all German tribes Saxons stood out not only as highly aggressive and warlike, but very also as
much committed to pagan cults. The borderline between Saxons and Franks was very vague, except in
a few places, where large forests or mountain ridges intervened and made the bounds certain, the line
between ourselves and the Saxons passed almost in its whole extent through an open country
(Einhard, 2013); murders, robbery and arson were a daily routine. In order to stop that Charlemagne
waged the first war against Saxons in 772. During this period, Charlemagne made attempts in bringing
Christianity to Saxons and finally got them destroyed as a culture, and they would never again rebel.
(Knox, 1999). He did it not only with fire and sword, but also with violent and culture destroying set
of laws called Capitulary of Saxony.
Charlemagne tried hard to integrate Saxons into his empire. However, at that time, integration always
meant the destruction of the old ways. During the first campaign in 772, Charlemagne captured the
castle of Eresburg and destroyed the holy site of Irminsul. Consequently, Charlemagne received the
submission of local chiefs, but they quickly ignored their oaths to receive missionaries and to send
tribute payments to the Christian king (Knox, 1999). As a result, Franks army returned in 775 and
defeated everyone who opposed them. After that, all chiefs were forcibly baptised; Capitulary of
Saxony, the document which proclaimed death to anyone, who

Application Of Dgs For Local Network Stability
Introduction: Due to increased concern on energy crisis and environmental issues, power industry is
shifting their power production from conventional power sources to renewable energy sources, and is
incorporating it into the grid utility in the form of distributed generations (DGs). The application of
DGs can enhance reliability and stability of the local network, and can reach benefit to the supplier by
reducing system losses and investment on a new transmission line due to increased power
consumption [1]. Power generation in the form of DGs for local and grid utility can create issues as
many as it may solve. Therefore, a microgrid concept is evolved to coordinate among sources, loads,
and energy storage devices for maintaining ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Inverters are able to supply controlled voltage and frequency depending on the control algorithms [3].
The characteristics of inverters are significantly different from the conventional generators; therefore,
specific control algorithms are required for a stable microgrid operation [4, 5].
There are a number of publications on droop based control for facilitating high reliability and avoiding
complexity of a supervisory control system [6, 12]. The droop based control algorithms are popular
due to their coordination capability among various power rating units together with flexibility and
reliability. The concept of droop based power control is valid for the both high voltage (HV)
transmission line and low voltage (LV) distribution line, although it has some limitations.
Problem formulation: To achieve consumer satisfaction in power supply and harness renewable
energy, microgrids design and control are essential issues for reliable operation. As the characteristics
of the distribution network and high volume power electronics penetration into the network are
significantly different from the conventional power system, several issues are raised. Some of the
issues, which are a promised field for future research, are described shortly below:
Distribution network: In a LV distribution network, the well known P/f droop control requires much
more effort than the P/V droop because predominated resistive network that naturally connects active

The Trap Ease Mousetrap
If a man [can]... make a better mousetrap than his neighbor...the world will make a beaten path to his

Statement of the Problem
Despite the publicity and the proven uniqueness of Trap Ease mousetrap, both demand and sales fall
radically short of expectations. The purpose of this analysis is to identify the root of the problem and
how it can possibly be solved.
Price
It was stated in the article that the Trap Ease was approximately five to ten times more expensive than
the standard traps already present in the market. This is largely due to the innovative concept of
trapping mice in a mess free method, and not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The target market does not seem to be comfortable using such an expensive tool for everyday mice
control. Furthermore, the product has been introduced as something disposable. If customers had to
buy these mousetraps and use them only for a brief period of time, they would certainly not pay five
times as much if a cheaper one is available.
Product
Though change is constant, most people are not used to welcoming it with eagerness and enthusiasm.
So too with new products. It would take much effort and creativity for new products to penetrate a
market that already consists of similar merchandise. How a new product will fare would rely highly on
several factors such as quality, design, features, brand name, packaging, and services offered.
With its proven usefulness and effective trapping mechanism, the traditional mousetrap has very well
gained its niche in society over the years. Trap Ease, possessing a rather unique approach to mouse
trapping, offers quality inventories made of plastic which guarantees the full proof mechanism.
Its design and features enable consumers to avoid having direct physical contact with the mouse
throughout the whole ordeal of setting up, trapping, and disposing of the revolting creature. Opposite
this is the traditional mousetrap where one has to personally pull the metal spring bar to set the trap.

The Pros And Cons Of President Donald Trump
How the biopsychosocial method can be used to influence people and is there a viable comparison to
President Donald Trump, and so consequently, could Donald Trump be mentally unfit for the office of
the presidency by virtue of lack of mental health, making him a possible danger to himself and us?
Okay, let s begin with an obvious reason why Donald Trump appealed to our brains...
Big companies spend millions on advertising because they know it takes a minimum of seven
encounters with a brand before a buying decision can be reached. The more we are exposed to a brand,
the more we like it. As brands are exposed to us more and more, the physiology of our brains is altered
in such a way that makes it easier for us accept and even prefer those brands next time we encounter
them. This is why that song we hated at first grows on us after it receives constant radio play. Trump is
a brand and The Donald is its celebrity spokesperson. After invading reality TV with The Apprentice,
he proceeded to take over the news media. Love him or hate him, everyone was talking about him at
every stage of the campaign process. He dominated the headlines for months. Hillary, although a
celebrity in her own right, still couldn t compete with the Donald Trump attention magnet media
phenomenon. Donald Trump as well reiterated in major swing states, If he doesn t win Florida, he can
t win the Presidency. And, No Republican candidate has ever gotten to the White House without
winning Ohio.

positive, selfless human being. Yes, having a dog may be challenging, stressful work, but in the end, it
s all worth it. Ever since I was a little girl I have always wanted a dog. When I was about three, my
cousins unexpectedly lost their chocolate lab, Bailey. I don t remember Bailey, but I do remember
when they brought home a yellow lab puppy named Tess. The moment I laid eyes on Tess, it sparked
something inside me and from that point on, I had a desire to one day have my own dog. I included a
dog on my Christmas and birthday lists for five years, but every year I was left with disappointment.
Nevertheless, my parents were warming up to the idea of having a dog, evaluating different breeds to
try and find a fit for our family. Eventually, my parents took us to look at dogs, but none of them
seemed to suit our needs. It was late afternoon on an enjoyable, mild June day at the baseball field. As
we commenced our journey home I realized we were headed in the wrong direction.
Where are we going? I asked, looking at my parents in confusion.
We are going to look at some puppies, Mom explained excitedly.
Realization dawned on me. We were getting a puppy! What kind of dog are we going to look at? I
questioned with excitement.
A cockapoo, stated Mom anxiously.

Key Role For The User Authentication
Section 1
Introduction:
User Authentication plays the key role for the users to make use of the resources available in any
given Environment. With the advancements in technology, it has become quite easy for a person to
find out ways to access the data of the other person. It is very important to verify the true identity of
the person trying to access his/her data. The concerned organization or the business group has to make
sure that the person trying to access is the right user of the data and care must be taken in such a way
that the resources are not used for the wrong purposes. Making use of the correct resources by the
right person in a right way is the purpose behind the authentication. A customer is mainly concerned ...

Whereas CBAT, a hardware based solution is the technology which is implemented in the user s
system, and it tries to evaluate the user by executing the logic implemented. The purpose of this
survey is to highlight the various authentication methods with their advantages and disadvantages and
to provide awareness to the individuals, so that suitable authentication method can be used in the
correct scenario.
Section 2
The Biometric Feature authentication is the simplest method that analyzes the way the user types at
the terminal by monitoring the keyboard inputs and identifies the users based on the habitual typing
rhythm patterns. The core idea behind this approach is that the biometric features are unique to an
individual and they cannot be imitated by any other person and they are unchangeable. The feature
used is Typing Biometrics. After the user types the target string password, Four features (key code,
two keystroke latencies, and key duration) were analyzed, combined and compared against the default
samples which are already present in the adaptive mechanism template of the system, thereby
authenticating the correct user. The advantage of this approach is its low cost, but it is limited to very
few numbers of users and the main disadvantage is that this method is not effective if the length of the
password is less than ten.

4. It determines the learners motivation since success leads to success and high spirits. Due to this
special status given to achievement, researchers in education have been tempted to investigate factors
affecting it. Therefore the researcher believes that shedding light on some of these factors may help in
finding a solution to this problem and in upgrading the level of students achievement. Ebel (1972)
claims that the variables most directly related to students achievement are Socio economic status of
the family and the socio economic background of the other students in the particular school whereas
Bloom (1976) believes that achievement is affected by interest, attitudes, self concepts and mental
health. Being convinced in the influence of such variables on achievement, the present researcher has
chosen four variables to be the core of his research study. In fact, he will investigate the contribution
of these independent variables to the defendant variables, which is students achievement in English.
The variable the researcher had chosen is the students study habits. Statement of the Problem Students

The Four Concepts Of Symbolic Interactionism
Symbolic interactions are a major part of how we socialize with others. It happens every day without
us even realizing it. There are many concepts that assist in the formation of symbolic interactions, but
to better understand them, we need to apply them to social settings. The four concepts of social
interactionism theory I chose to observe at the social settings of my choosing were; definition of
situation, symbols, front regions, and role playing. These concepts often interrelate as they all are a
part of each other. To better understand these concepts, they were applied to two different social
settings which were the bar and mass at the Catholic church. The concepts will be defined and
reviewed in the order above.
When we refer to definition of situation, we are referring to what the entrance of the social setting
encompasses. We look at what are the norms, the rules, and what is acceptable in that setting. For
example, when I was entering the bar, there were people outside smoking. To be able to walk through
the front doors, there was a man who one had to give an ID to so he could check the age to allow the
person to get in. When I walked through the doors, there were people sitting at tables in groups of
three to five people on the left who would look to see who was entering the bar. On the right side of
the bar, there were four people playing foosball and two people at each pool table. As I continued to
the back, there were people sitting at the bar visiting.

Summary Of How Immigrants Changed America
America is filled with diverse people, citizens and immigrants. It s a country that has welcomed many
cultures, languages, and people from different parts of the world. Immigrants are the reasons why
America is changing into a colorful country and it wouldn t be known for it s importance known
today. Significant changes that occur when immigrants come to America are new cultures, changes in
the economy, and changes towards visas and green cards.
Immigrants changed America by bringing in new cultures. In Vincent J. Cannato s article, How
Americans Became Italian, it explains how America gained many things from the Italian culture, such

immigration is a process of transformation for the individuals and for American society. That bilateral
cultural evolution will continue to mold who we are as a nation, (Cannato). Like Italians, many other
countries are shaping America with all the different cultures. Today, Americans combine varying
cultures into their lives.
Next, immigrants changed the economy. In the article, Why American Cities Are Fighting to Attract
Immigrants , Ted Hesson explains the development made in the economy by immigrants. He states

American workforce, (Campbell). She expresses the negative facts about what some Americans

majorly sparked up more of the movements controversy. This is an international activist movement,

Misunderstood Fractures Medline Plus defines a traumatic fracture as a trauma sustained by a fall or an auto accident; also known as a broken bone, this is when the bone cracks or breaks during a high impact situation. The traumatic fracture can also be stress fractures where the bone breaks due to overuse whereas a compound or open fracture tend to cut through the skin. Compound fractures, unlike a closed or simple fracture which is hard to see because it does not protrude through the surface. But one of the most misunderstood fractures is the sacral fracture located at the bottom of the spine its noted on Orthobullets website as being a fracture resulting from a neurologic compromise that affects both the elderly and young adults alike. • 3. Panera Bread Company Swot Analysis Essay Strengths of the Organization This case study identified many strengths Panera Bread has including those dating back to Au Bon Pain Company; however, this section will only identify those strengths associated with the current position of Panera Bread Company. First and foremost is customer service. The company has been awarded with two major customer service awards including the J.D. Power and Associates restaurant satisfaction study which ranked Panera Bread highest among quick service restaurants in the Midwest and Northeast regions of the United States in all categories (C 162). Customer loyalty is another key to Panera s success. Studies from the case show that Panera has a high rate of returning customers once Panera has ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Panera Bread s commitment to freshness could potentially serve as a weakness if one of their dough distribution centers were temporarily unable to produce the required amount of fresh dough for the locations it serves. Whether this be a processing issue or if the company was unable to use a key ingredient because of food recalls or if an ingredient became more limited in supply, the company would struggle to provide its full menu. Opportunities in the Environment The biggest opportunity the case study presented was the untapped markets that Panera could potentially expand to including large U.S. cities and in the international markets. Exhibit three on page C 166 of the case study shows the markets where Panera Bread has limited or no presence. Each of these cities provides potential opportunities for the company. With Panera s high rate of return, in the sense of customers returning to the restaurant once they have tried it once, the company needs to strive to get more first time customers in the door. To do this they need to raise the quality of awareness . . . and boost trial dinning at multiple meal times (C 169). In addition to getting first time customers the company also needs to strive to get customers to come in for meals that they usually do not eat at Panera. For example, the case explained that most individuals who come in for lunch will only consider ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Impact Of Fragmentation Process On Genetic Diversity... CHAPTER FIVE 5.0 The Impact of Fragmentation Process on Genetic Diversity and Gene flow. Fragmentation impacts on gene and genetic function are likely to reduce ecosystem stability through reducing resistance and resilience. Resilience describes the speed with which a system returns to its former state after displacement, while resistance is its ability to avoid displacement to begin with (Begon et al., 2005). Forest fragmentation has three main effects on species diversity a) Reduction of overall numbers of individuals b) Reduction of mean population sizes as individuals are restricted to small fragments c) Spatial isolation of remaining populations within a non forest like land use matrix. The genetic results of these changes are mediated by their effects on the main genetic processes of genetic drift, gene flow, selection and mating. These processes determine the amount of genetic diversity found within a species and how it is portioned among individuals and populations across its geographical range. The three most obvious possible genetic effects of forest fragmentation are a) Loss of genetic diversity at the population and species level b) Change in inter population structure c) Increased inbreeding. These effects suggest several causes for concern. In terms of in situ conservation, low genetic variation limits a species ability to respond to changing environmental conditions through selection, while changes in inter population structure may alter the scale at which ... • 5. The Search For Prosperity In Mac s In Dubious Battle In today s world, it seems everyone is fueled to work only towards the dream of wealth. Without the promise of payment, people will turn their back on their neighbor without a second thought and continue on the search for prosperity. In the novel In Dubious Battle, we meet Mac, a hard working party member doing everything in his power to help struggling laborers make the wage they were promised before setting out for the California apple orchards. Almost immediately after the strike begins, Mac comes to the realization that there likely is no chance of the workers winning the strike, yet he continues to fight for his beliefs. Some may interpret this as selfish for risking the lives of these workers, however this is undoubtedly false as Mac risks his own life alongside the other strikers. Mac also has no financial reward for helping with the strike and is spending his time educating the workers a valuable lesson on how to strike that will help them in the larger strike that Mac sees ominously approaching. From the moment Mac arrives on the apple orchard, we see that he is not afraid to risk his own life for the sake of the party. In a conversation with Jim, Mac reveals how the party is larger than any single member, no matter how important that member may be. Mac goes on to express that he is willing to give up his own life in the wake of a larger, nation wide strike he foresees coming very soon. Mac expresses this idea to Jim, saying if I go out now it won t matter. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Osmosis Diffusion Lab Title Osmosis : How Water Diffuses Introduction The plasma membrane, the outside barrier of the cell is selectively permeable, allowing certain substances to cross more easily than others. When a cell is put in a solution, passive transport, diffusion, and osmosis occurs. During passive transport, diffusion of a substance takes place across a membrane without energy contribution, because of diffusion, the tendency for molecules to spread out. Net movement allows substances to move in one direction. Many molecules and hydrocarbons diffuse down the concentration gradient, moving from a high concentration to a low concentration. Without diffusion, osmosis cannot occur, osmosis is diffusion of water. During osmosis in animal and plant cells, tonicity, ability to cause a cell to gain or lose water, causes three different solutions, isotonic, hypertonic, and hypotonic. The purpose of the experiment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... p. ___ ____ Questions Explain why osmosis and diffusion are important to cells? Osmosis and diffusion are important to cells because they do not require energy(ATP) to transport molecules across, such as water and oxygen molecules, which are needed in the cell to function. Without diffusion, osmosis cannot occur. And without osmosis, the water molecules is not a able to move from a high concentration to a low concentration. Describe what is meant by the term selectively permeable and explain the role of selectively permeable membrane in osmosis Selectively permeable membranes main functions is to regulate the movement of substances entering and exiting the cell. It allows the exchange of nutrients between the cell and its environment. • 8. Essay on Dealing with Aggression Dealing with Aggression Abstract We live in a society where aggressive acts happen every day, but do we really know what causes it? How can we help ourselves and others to understand what aggression is? First off, we need to define aggression, tell it s causes and effects and determine the best way to deal with it. For example, aggression can be positive or negative, accidental or intended and physical or mental. Aggression is a continuing behavior in our world today and I feel that it is very important that we try to start controlling it now. Aggression is a critical part of animal existence, which is a driving force to humans, as we too are animals. The source of aggression within humans is an ongoing list so therefore, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Aggression can fall under a number of forms. Due to its relative nature, aggression is extremely hard to isolate and study. A major distinction made in animal studies of aggression, and one that may well have profound implications for human aggression, is the difference between offensive and defensive aggression (Feshbach, Zagrodzka 1997). Much research has already been done indicating that different brain sites mediate predation and defensive aggression. Aggression can take many different paths. The act of hitting a wall to release aggression has some of the same roots as playing football and enjoying hitting the quarterback. A child yelling at their parents could be equated in its aggressiveness with someone honking their horn when they get cut off driving. Psychologist Arlene Stillwell performed an experiment where she assigned ordinary college students at random to play the role of a victim or a perpetrator in a small incident. Then she asked the students to describe the situation that had just happened. What she found was that both victims and perpetrators deformed the truth equally to present their sides in a better light. Victims would dwell on their lasting traumas from the incident while the perpetrator might make the act seem like a one time action provoked by insurmountable circumstances. The resulting implication is that aggression is in the eye of the beholder ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Bacteria Lab Lab Report: Unknown #1 Paola Rosales 302672960 Professor Youssef INTRODUCTION: Bacteria are the smallest living organisms, they are prokaryotic and have a simple cell structure. They do not contain a nucleus, and are unicellular. Bacteria are the most abundant microorganism. They are among the earliest forms of life that appeared on earth billions of years ago. They can grow in different temperatures and many exist naturally in our human flora, such as staphylococci. Growth within different temperatures can range from 0 degrees Celsius such as psychrotrophs, to hyperthermophiles who grown best above 70 degrees Celsius (Ritchey, Exercise 16). Bacteria have many shapes, size, and multicell arrangements. The main bacteria shapes are cocci (spherical or ovoid shaped), bacilli (straight rods), coccobacillus (short rods), fusiform bacillus (rod shaped bacilli with tapered ends), vibrio (curved rods), spirillum (single spiral bacteria), and spirochete (if it is flexible and undulating). Bacteria can form multicell arrangements, such as diplococcus (two cell arrangements) (. Bacteria are usually named for their shape or multicell arrangement, but cannot be truly identified by just those characteristics (Strelkauskas, Edwards, Fanhert, Pryor, 2016). Bacteria can be classified by the way they stain. They are clear under a microscope and require staining to be seen. To stain a bacteria, one takes a dye to color the cells. There are basic dyes that contain ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. American Indian Religious Freedom Act Prior to the Second World War, religious places remained untouched as they were mainly located in rural areas. However, the period after the Second World War was characterized by an increase in population, corporate farming, a more vibrant timber industry as well as an expanded recreational industry. This change resulted in less respect for the public land, and the situation was made worse by the proliferation of state and federal agencies that have no respect for the public land. It thus becomes difficult for the Native Indians to have access to shrines as the politicians promulgated rules that disregarded public land particularly places of worship. One such narrow minded law that has failed to achieve its ultimate goal is the American Indian Religious Freedom Act that was enacted in 1978. The law made it clear the government efforts of protecting the religious rights of the American Indians not only to express their belief but also to practice this believes through traditional religion. However, this law faced major blows especially on the corridors of justice where the Court viewed the Congress action in enacting the American Indian Religious Freedom Act as efforts of the government to establish a state religion. Instead of the government respecting the right of the Indians to maintain their religious places, it invokes its power as the custodian of the public land by claiming that it has the mandate of utilizing any piece of public land for the benefit of the entire ... Data suggests that there is a 63% probability of at least one magnitude 6.7 or greater earthquake striking somewhere in the San Francisco Bay Area before the year 2032. The key to surviving and earthquake is to be prepared. Earthquakes are caused when two blocks of earth suddenly slip past one another. The surface where the two blocks slip is called the fault. The earthquake starts below the earth s surface at the hypocenter, and the location above the hypocenter is called the epicenter. Jesus came to this Earth about two thousand years ago and he taught his disciples the way through which they could receive salvation, that is, the Passover (Jn 6:53.) Even at that time hecould have given eternal life and taken them to Heaven, but instead he told them to wait until the Last Days (Jn 6:54.) This is because that is the time Heavenly Mother appears. In Matthew 22:1 10 Jesus told a parable, in which he compared the Kingdom of Heaven to a wedding banquet. Being invited to thewedding banquet is the same as being invited to the Kingdom of Heaven. To have a wedding there must be a groom, a bride, and guests. In the parable there is a groom, and guests, but no bride even thoughthe bride is the most important piece of a wedding. This is because she was not ready at Jesus s firstcoming, but at his second coming. That s why Revelations 19:7 NIV says Let us rejoice and be glad and give him Glory! For the wedding of the Lamb(Christ) has come, and his bride has made herself ready! The bride is ready in the Last Days. Trade agreements facilitate the free exchange of goods and services between nation states, and contribute to varying degrees to complete economic integration between two or more states. Autarky refers to a non trading status, a phenomenon rarely seen in today s increasingly integrated globe. The steps taken to fully integrate are referred to as stages, a categorization that makes evident the variability in degree of integration. At the first stage, a preferential trade area can be set up as a less formal means of encouraging trade by enacting preferential tariffs to target specific countries exports (usually developing countries), in addition to other unilateral trade benefits. NAFTA The North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) is an agreement among Mexico, Canada, and the United States that removes trade tariffs between the three members. Along with the removal of tariffs, NAFTA created the Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC), which monitors the environmental impact of the agreement. NAFTA was signed on December 8, 1993 by the Clinton administration, and the agreement went into effect on January 1, 1994. NAFTA has significantly increased trade between the three countries. This agreement has increased exports for all countries, while making imports cheaper. For example, the US accounts for 50% of Mexico s imports, and it accounts for 51% of Canada s imports. The effects of NAFTA on the US economy were smaller than predicted, and its effect is hard to separate from the general boom of the US economy during the 1990s and early 2000s. While many jobs were created during this period, some critics argue that job creation and economic growth would have been even greater without NAFTA. Many economists have done studies to quantify the welfare effects of NAFTA on its member states. One 2015 study estimated the welfare effect of NAFTA on its member states. It found a welfare increase of 1.31% in Mexico, an increase of 0.08% in the US, and a welfare decrease of 0.06% in Canada. It was set up in 1965 by the Law Commission Act It is a full time body that consists of a chairman, 4 law commissioners, support staff to assist in research, and 4 parliamentary draftsmen. The Law Commission is an independent, government funded organisation, which reviews areas of the law that need updating, reforming or developing. It makes recommendations to Parliament, and these recommendations are published in its report series. Following this, the commission will draw up positive proposals for reformation which will be presented in a report which sets out the research that led to the conclusions. Very often there will be a bill attached to the report with intent that this is the way that the reform will come into effect. Lastly, the bill has to enter parliament and has to go through the process from parliament to become law. This is the aspect of law that creates back log of reforms because parliament often fail to consider the reforms that are proposed. The law commission can reform the law in many different ways. Firstly they can do it by repeal, this is a way of tidying up statutes, they get rid of law, they pass Statutes Law Repeal Act 1995. Another way they can reform the law is by consolidation, this brings all acts of parliament together on a subject and put them under one piece of legislation. The final way they can reform law is by Codification. This is when they bring all law together (common law and statute law) on one subject. This aspect of law reform is set out in S.3 of the Law Commission Act 1965. In order to judge the success of the Law Commission we have to consider the areas of law that were to be reformed and whether those reforms were introduced. The law ... The Competency Of The Educator Students who are taught key skills and strategies in reading instruction often develop into more proficient readers than those who are not provided with these skills in an explicit and systematic way. As formal reading instruction for many students commences in the foundation year of school, it is the role of the educator to model and explain the key components of literacy to students. Research on effective reading instruction suggests that students benefit when they learn concepts of print, phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension (National Reading Panel, 2000). Moreover, reading instruction needs to be supported by effective teaching strategies that include modelled reading aloud, shared book reading, guided ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, research concludes there is no definitive description of what a balanced approach to literacy means and they all have similar elements. To put it another way, effective educators of reading instruction offer a print rich balanced reading program that incorporates explicit and systematic instructions in concepts of print, phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. These reading skills develop as educators model and scaffold engaging activities, for instance, read aloud s, shared, guided, and independent reading, rhymes, and songs. These activities are the underpinnings of a successful literacy program (Winch, Johnston, March, Ljungdahl, Holliday, 2006, p. 155). A balanced reading approach also provides students opportunities to repeat and practice skills as educators observe and assess student s abilities. Therefore, educators must explicitly instruct literacy skills from foundation to year twelve because they are essential to academic growth. Explicit teaching is a systematic and carefully planned approach that effectively teaches students the key skills of literacy. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

You simply come up with an obtainable goal and then you work hard to make it a reality. To begin with I give myself short term and long term goals to achieve. Before I joined the Army my short term goal was to achieve the rank of Sergeant (E 5). My next short term goal wasn t to just achieve the next rank of Staff Sergeant (E 6) I wanted to aim a little higher and make Sergeant First Class (E 7) within eight years, which I did. My long term goal was to ultimately make it to the rank of Sergeant major (E 9). This goal is going to be harder to achieve, but I know as long as I work hard I will achieve that goal. Goals are great, but without follow through these goals will never come to fruition. By breaking down goals into smaller goals a person will gain confidence and can eventually turn those small term goals in long term goals. I knew that I could not just jump to Sergeant Major and that s why I set small short term goals to achieve that rank. What is going to make me successful not only in my career, but also in my everyday life is accomplishing one short term goal at a time. To obtain a Goal it requires steps or processes to achieve the desired outcome which, according to Tim Harford, includes failure. The reason I m interested in this career is because I want to save lives and make a difference in the lives of the infants and their families. Most premature and sick newborns have lungs that aren t fully developed, the neonatal nurse must ensure that infants are breathing and maturing properly. They provide complete care for babies, such as attend deliveries, weigh and measure infants, bathe them and monitor their health. They also teach new parents about newborn care and breastfeeding. Evidence Based Outcomes And Utilizing Findings Evidence Based Outcomes and Utilizing Findings Evidenced based practice (EBP) is now considered to be best practice but, although great strides have been made in applying the research in practice, there is still progress to be made. EBP is central to delivering the highest quality healthcare and ensuring the best outcomes for patients. However, EBP guiding the practice in healthcare systems is not the norm in many healthcare systems across the United States (Melnyk Fineout Overholt, 2011). The most overwhelming evidence for using EBP in practice is that is provides better outcomes in patients and provides a higher quality of care. Therefore, patients are more satisfied, healthcare costs are reduced and there is a reduction in differences in delivery of care according to geographic area (Melnyk Fineout Overholt, 2011). Evidence based practice is defined by Polit and Beck (2012) as a practice that involves making clinical decisions on the best available evidence which is usually from disciplined research, while research utilization is using an aspect of a study for something else unrelated to the original research. The two terms are sometimes used synonymously but there is a distinct difference. In research utilization the emphasis is on translating the information into real word applications. Evidence based practice (EBP) is broader than research utilization and incorporates research findings with other factors (Polit Beck, 2012). Many factors work to either facilitate ... Therefore, TQM emphasizes self improvement process. In addition, this principle also laminates to the focusing on students strengths, individual learning styles, and different types of intelligences. A System of Ongoing Process The third pillar of TQM as applied in education is the recognition of the organization as a system and the work done within the organization must be seen as an ongoing process. The primary implication of this principle is that individual students and teachers are less to blame for failure than the system in which they work. Quality speaks to working on the system, which must be examined to identify and eliminate the flawed processes that allow its participants to fail. Since systems are made in the quality of those processes largely determine the quality of the resulting product. In the new paradigm of learning , continual improvement of learning outcomes replaces the outdated teach and test mode. The borderline between Saxons and Franks was very vague, except in a few places, where large forests or mountain ridges intervened and made the bounds certain, the line between ourselves and the Saxons passed almost in its whole extent through an open country (Einhard, 2013); murders, robbery and arson were a daily routine. In order to stop that Charlemagne waged the first war against Saxons in 772. During this period, Charlemagne made attempts in bringing Christianity to Saxons and finally got them destroyed as a culture, and they would never again rebel. (Knox, 1999). He did it not only with fire and sword, but also with violent and culture destroying set of laws called Capitulary of Saxony. Charlemagne tried hard to integrate Saxons into his empire. However, at that time, integration always meant the destruction of the old ways. During the first campaign in 772, Charlemagne captured the castle of Eresburg and destroyed the holy site of Irminsul. Consequently, Charlemagne received the submission of local chiefs, but they quickly ignored their oaths to receive missionaries and to send tribute payments to the Christian king (Knox, 1999). There are many concepts that assist in the formation of symbolic interactions, but to better understand them, we need to apply them to social settings. The four concepts of social interactionism theory I chose to observe at the social settings of my choosing were; definition of situation, symbols, front regions, and role playing. These concepts often interrelate as they all are a part of each other. To better understand these concepts, they were applied to two different social settings which were the bar and mass at the Catholic church. The concepts will be defined and reviewed in the order above. When we refer to definition of situation, we are referring to what the entrance of the social setting encompasses. We look at what are the norms, the rules, and what is acceptable in that setting. For example, when I was entering the bar, there were people outside smoking. To be able to walk through the front doors, there was a man who one had to give an ID to so he could check the age to allow the person to get in. When I walked through the doors, there were people sitting at tables in groups of three to five people on the left who would look to see who was entering the bar. On the right side of the bar, there were four people playing foosball and two people at each pool table. As I continued to the back, there were people sitting at the bar visiting. ...
