3. Stunting Research Paper
Everyone in the world has certain things that call their attention, something they may be good at doing, and something they really enjoy. Many
people have different talents, whether it be dancing, baking, or singing. People also have talents and hobbies; some people play soccer while others
play instruments. I, on the other hand, like things that are more hands on, messy, challenging, and creative. Some of the things that I enjoy are
drawing and painting, stunting, and projects.
Drawing and painting is a wonderful way for someone to express themselves. Paintings highly support the quote A picture is worth a thousand
words, because some people can interpret a painting one way, while others may see it in a completely different way. I enjoy ... Show more content

I have been a cheerleader for four years (not consecutively), but the part I really enjoy is building stunts. I am a back spot, so I lead my stunt group
in the stunt we will be attempting. We have done so many different stunts, and lately they have gotten a lot more smooth and they hit every time.
We have done Straight up Extensions, Liberties, Basket Tosses, Shoulder Sits, Pyramids, Full downs, and a few other stunts that I cannot name off
the top of my head. Hitting a stunt on the first try is the best feeling in the world because it makes you feel like you can accomplish anything if you
just practice and strongly believe you can do it. Although stunting is fun, it is considered a contact sport, and for a very good reason. A lot of the
time a stunt does not hit or it just does not go up. This sometimes means the top girl (flyer) fell, but thankfully my stunt group never lets her hit the
floor. My stunt group, as well as myself, always catch our flyer, but this leads us to get either bruises, hit in the face, hit in the chest, and maybe
even fell on. Even though stunting can be painful at times, it is very fun being able to throw a girl high up in the air and catching

1. Using the movie Once Were Warriors as 3 different clients, how would you write a full diagnosis based on their medical conditions? Beth Heke
left her small island town when she was a very young lady despite her parents disapproval, she married Jake the Muss Heke. After a total of
eighteen years they have five children and live in a slum in New Zealand. Beth is from a more traditional background she related to the old ways,
while Jake is an interpretation of what some Māori have become. Beth on occasion tries to reform herself by trying to do good for her family, for
example by giving up drinking and saving the money which she would have spent on alcohol, however, she always relapses back into alcoholism

also suffers from a mood disorder; Jake can go from being loving and happy one minute to savagely abusive and mean in the snap of a finger. This
is clear when Beth refuses to make eggs for one of his guests at a party. Jakes beats her savagely while he was drunk in front of a crowd. Jake also

5. Comparison Of Aldous Huxley s Nineteen Eighty-Four
George Orwell also took influence from authors who were active in his own lifetime, such as English author Aldous Huxley. Orwell s novel
Nineteen Eighty Four most commonly gets compared to Aldous Huxley s novel Brave New World, which was originally published in 1932,
seventeen years before Orwell published his own anti totalitarian work. Comparable to Nineteen Eighty Four, Brave New World is a dystopian
novel in which a political agenda is discussed via a fabricated government. However, while similarities can be drawn, the two differ in their
content. In Brave New World, Huxley s fictional society is controlled by drugs and efforts to distract its citizens who are immersed in a world of
technology that could only have been dreamed of at the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the same fashion that he took influence from the writings of other authors before him, authors in the generations after him have done the same.
Margaret Atwood, whose novel The Handmaid s Tale (1985) has sparked political interest in its recent resurgence much as Orwell s works have,
was inspired by Orwell s ideologies, mainly those represented in Animal Farm. As previously mentioned, Orwell is no novice at creating dystopian
societies, a skill that Atwood, too, shows in The Handmaid s Tale, the plot of which centers around the handmaids (women) being used strictly for
reproductive purposes. The more substantial influence, however, is the use of satire in literature. In Animal Farm, Orwell created a politically
satirical society of animals meant to represent the regime under Joseph Stalin, whom he opposed. In The Handmaid s Tale, however, Atwood used
satire for social justices rather than a political agenda, though the two often coincide. Atwood takes a dystopian view of a world in which women
are used as objects to keep the population alive and uses it to make readers understand why feminism is needed; if women are not allowed to
choose what they are able to do with their bodies, be it abortion or birth control, they will soon only be seen as a means of

7. Compare and Contrast Any Two Theories of Leadership Essay
Compare and contrast any two theories of leadership
In the following essay I will look at leadership, its definition and compare and contrast two theories behind it. I will firstly see if there is a
distinction between leadership and management as suggested by John
Kotter(1990) who goes on further to stress that organisations require both a leader and a manager but the function can be provided by a single
individual. I will then look at some definitions of leadership such as that by Bryman(1999), The process of influencing the activities of an
organized group in its efforts toward goal setting and goal attainment . The two leadership theories which I will compare and contrast are
transactional and transformational. I will also ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Transactional leadership relies on the workers behaviour being influenced by means of reward by the leader.
There is co dependency between the leader and the worker, one has to offer the other something for a desired outcome. A real life example of
transactional leadership is the use of commission in the sales industry. Performance to the leader s requirement or expectation is rewarded. This
could be seen as one of the advantages of this type of leadership, that is it provides a clear idea of what is required. Watch any episode of the BBC
television programme The Apprentice and this theory is clearly demonstrated throughout. The main disadvantage becomes clear, the assumption is
everyone is motivated by monetary rewards and this is simply untrue.
In contrast transformational leadership is the infusion of motivation and inspiration into the workers to do the work by their leader as suggested by
Anita(2008) You have to look at leadership through the eyes of the followers and you have to live the message. What I have learned is that people
become motivated when you guide them to the source of their own power and when you make heroes out of employees who personify what you
want to see in the organisation. The election campaign that was run by the now US President,
Barak Obama, was transformational. Obama influenced the voters with his charisma and motivated them by addressing issues that appealed to
them. This highlights

8. The Effect Of Reaction Time On The Brain
That step wasn t there before! and, I didn t trip. I was.... dancing, are a few excuses that people may use when they make a mistake. It is not
uncommon to hear people create these excuses to cover their embarrassment of missing the last step on the stairs, or for tripping over a crack in the
sidewalk. Although some of these alibis may seem like reasonable answers, they are almost always incorrect. The proper explanation for events,
such as the examples mentioned, is based on reaction time. The study of human reaction time triggered by stimulus has progressed over time;
scientists now understand how reaction time works, what it is needed for, and what factors impact reaction time.
Reaction time, like most subjects related to the brain, has an interesting history. At first, most scientists believed that mental processes in the human
brain were too fast to be measured. However, a Dutch Physiologist named F.C. Donders started to think, about whether reaction time could be
measured in 1965. Donder s thoughts were backed up by research done by a English scientist and inventor Charles Wheatstone. In 1840,
Wheatstone conducted an experiment where a patient s foot was shocked. The test subject had to press a button using the hand that was on the
same side as the foot that was shocked. Some patients knew which foot would be shocked and others did not know. There was a one fifteenth
second delay between the two. The was the first record of the mind being measured (Shannon, 2012).

economic principles you must understand in terms of different philosophy foundations, scarcity, uncertainty, interdependencies, and the duel nature
of rights.

In the story the Once ler, the Lorax, the Brown Bar ba loots, the Swomee Swans, and the Humming Fish are all put in a situation known as Pareto
Optimality. This exists when economic resources and output have been allocated in such a way that no one can be made better off without
sacrificing the well being of at least one person (Wisdom, V Pareto). In a situation like this it is hard for the perspectives, like that of the Once ler
and the Lorax, to have a positive outcome. If their perspectives had been different, say like the golden rule or do no harm perspectives, things have
a much better potential to come out more ideal for everyone. As discussed in class, both of these philosophical perspectives believe in withholding
harm to one s self and to others. If these were the perspectives taken by the Once ler and the Lorax, both would be happy, in addition to the Brown
Bar ba loots, the Swomee Swans, and the Humming Fish, but given the Pareto Optimality environment it is almost impossible to make everyone
involved happy, instead there needs to be a more costs benefits perspective taken where things are weighed out and people pick as a whole what the
best usage of resources should be to maximize the outcome for everyone.

and green. Blue as discussed earlier was represented as the color of the God and other religious concepts, so the major incorporation of the color
blue in the reliquary chasse indicated the spiritual significance it carried. Envisioning blue on the chasse unified people to Jesus Christ. Many of the
reliquary chasse of the 12th century narrated a story; this individual one narrates the crucifixion of Christ. There are several key figures engraved
throughout the exterior of the chasse, however since the crucial scene of the execution are shown on the front face of the chasse, that indicates that
this chasse was primarily to be seen from the front rather than the sides. If viewed from the front, the top has three figures designed on it. In the
center is the God the Father and on his either sides are two unknown saints. All three figures are represented in mandorlas however in different
colors. The God of Father is displayed in the blue mandorla while the saints are shown in green mandorla. Here we can interpret a sense of
hierarchy because the God of Father is shown in blue, which represents a divine color, however the saints are represented in green that is a mix of
blue and yellow. So, blue still exists and represents divinity, yet the mixture of blue and yellow to produce a different shade of blue signifies that
the God of Father is above and more important than the saints. The background is enameled with a deeper shade of blue, probably indicating the
larger divinity of

16. Assisted Suicide Speech
Some people think that assisted suicide should be legal and some people think it should not be legal. This issue is serious because if the Supreme
Court does change the law and make it legal then people will use assisted suicide as an excuse to get help in ending their lives. Our views as a
society have not changed because we still think killing someone is murder and when someone is killed we think that person should be put in jail.
So if society thinks people should not commit murder then what is the difference between murder and assisted suicide? There isn t one. Yes when
someone requests assisted suicide they want to their lives to end but that should not give us the right to go around and kill anyone who wants to die.

If Canadians know that it is against the law to assist in someone s suicide why do they do it anyway? If the law is changed then more people will
go and assist someone in killing themselves. If a person wants to kill themselves then they are obviously in a bad state of mind. Section 7 of the
Charter is supposed to make everyone feel secure. So instead of letting that person commit suicide we should protect that person and get that
person help, whether it be getting them some sort of therapy or getting that person medication to keep them feeling better for that period of time.
Many Canadians are charged for helping someone ill or someone they love die. Marielle Houlle, for example, is a lady that was sentenced to get
three years probation by a Quebec court in 2004 because she helped her 36 year old son, who was in pain from multiple sclerosis, end his life

shoots someone and ends another their life that person can serve up to 14 years in prison. Yet this lady only gets 3 years probation for ending her
sons life. This was a controversial decision as it was not considered fair by many people. The law should just stay the same and anyone who kills

18. Love In The Poem In William Shakespeare s Meaning Of Love
Initial Thoughts The meaning of this poem didn t immediately grab me until I read the lines Half drew him in, half lured him in that was when I
realized that Goethe was talking about being lured in by a siren or a nixe. At first the poem speaks to me about love at first sight. That is what I
pulled from it at the beginning but as I said above, that one line threw me into it being about a siren s song. Luring you in until you get devoured
and disappear. Did Goethe love someone that he would have disappeared with? The siren s song is something anyone could get forced into and lose
themselves. Aspect(s) of Interest Love, that is what interests me the most in this poem. I m a softy when it comes to love poems, they pull me in. I
was surprised that I wouldn t have chosen a poem from the romantics and didn t go with the classic William Shakespeare, but alas, the siren s song
pulled me in. The fisherman seemed to be living a somewhat happy live fishing to his heart s content. He also seemed to be day dreaming a bit just
staring at the water. Who wouldn t get pulled into the siren s song? Only Odysseus I have read has ever pulled out of the grasp of the siren s song.

In the dark, rainy Gotham city, the Clown Prince Joker and the Dark Knight Detective Batman are battling it out in the Madhouse. Imagine if Joker
and Batman existed in real life. In Robert Nye s book, Beowulf: A New Telling, a character almost like the Joker exists. A hero similar to Batman is
needed to stop monsters like the Joker. But not any hero, an epic hero. Beowulf shows he is an epic hero in three ways. These characteristics of
Beowulf are superior strength and courage, performing brave deeds, and that he went on a quest. To start off, Beowulf is an epic hero he if has
superior strength. In this text, Beowulf had pulled off Grendel s arm out of its socket (Nye PDF 76). This shows why Beowulf is an epic hero
because of his superior strength because to pull an arm socket off it would take 7Kn(Newton) to 30Kn, indefinitely it would at least take 1543
pounds and 3.77 ounces to 6746 pounds and 2.32 ounces. This means that Beowulf is a superhuman and an epic hero almost always superhuman.
For another reason why Beowulf is an epic hero is because he has courage. In this text, Beowulf shrugged. My sword? Oh, I left it in the sun

Magic empowers women in La casa de los espíritus Discuss. In Isabel Allende s first novel, La casa de los espíritus the reader is introduced to her
use of magic as a means which enables women to feel sustained in times of difficulty and which provides them with a power base (Bennett, C.
2003:174). Interestingly, the women s connection with the spiritual and magical stands in contrast to the men s rejection of anything that doesn t
adhere to their strict perception of morbid reality. Therefore, Allende quite clearly outlines magical properties as essentially feminine (Shaw, D.
1997:116) and spirituality in all its forms as a province of the female of the species (Hart, S. 2005:275) only. It can be argued that women and

Though some critics are of the opinion that Clara is a passive character and her silences aren t exactly magic, Marjorie Agosín argues that Clara
chose silence not out of passivity or fear but rather because that was the only way for her to create her own space composed of hidden signs and

destructiveness and aggressiveness of her husband. Even though Agosín s statement rejects Clara s passivity, it is possible to disagree on the basis
that she did not have sufficient information, and possessed neither the power nor the tools necessary (Allende, I. 1984:41) to bring about her
liberation therefore she was forced to refer to what can be read as passive resistance. As a result of this, Esteban is unable to connect with her and

21. Theme Of Symbolism In Catcher In The Rye
The Catcher in the Rye: Prompt 3 In the novel, Catcher in the Rye, by J.D. Salinger uses a variety of symbols to support the thematic idea that
maturation and the loss of innocence are an inescapable rite of passage for all of humanity. Three significant symbols that signify the importance of
alteration and losing one s purity to become more suited to live in the real world are the ducks in the lagoon of Central Park, the Catcher in the Rye
, and the carousel and the gold ring. Furthermore, these three symbols hold a significant meaning for the main protagonist, Holden Caulfield as
well. Holden, the main character, encounters many moments where he doesn t know where to go or what to do next. To aid him in his decision
making, Holden resides with the ducks of Central Park. These ducks are a powerful symbol that the author utilizes in his novel to describe Holden s
journey toward maturity. Furthermore, Holden ponders whether the ducks are taken away and put into a zoo to be cared for when the pond freezes
at Central Park or if they are abandoned to fly away and fend for themselves. Holden revisits the question of the ducks when he doesn t know if he
should return to his parents or learn to live on his own. Constantly, each time the ducks appear in the story, Holden s maturity becomes augmented.
For example, I stopped having a conversation with him, if he was going to get so damn touchy about it. But he started it up again himself. He
turned all the way around again, and

22. Link Between Mis And The Circadian Clock
Aaron Kendrick
Essay 1 The Link between Myocardial Infarctions and the Circadian Clock
The circadian clock holds large importance in a number of bodily functions including the cardiovascular system. In particular there are a number of
connections between the circadian clock and myocardial infarctions (heart attacks). Myocardial infarctions (MIs) as a term is more commonly used
in scientific journals than heart attacks, therefore, the term myocardial infarction (MI) will be used throughout the duration of this paper. Overall a
discussion of the link between MIs and the circadian clock, the effect of disrupted sleep on MIs, and certain cases where there is an attenuation of

Furthermore, they determined that the lack of an evening peak may be due to less population wide synchronization of MI triggers between 6 and 8
pm (Kanth et al, 2013). However, they did not express what these triggers were. Although the common triggers for MIs are an increase in
sympathetic activity, increase in platelet agreeability and a decrease in plasma fibrinolytic activity. Which means that hemostasis, the stopping of
flow of blood, is altered and an imbalance between myocardial (muscle of the heart) oxygen supply and demand occurs in the morning. Together
these triggers are known to potentially lead to acute MI (Kanth et al, 2013). Therefore, I infer that these triggers have been desynchronized among
the population between 6 and 8pm. Another study supports this idea and showed that the number of circulating platelets and their ability to
aggregate follows a circadian rhythm, where the highest number of platelets was found in the afternoon, but an increase in aggregation occurred in
the morning. This paper also discussed that the peak levels of lipoprotein and fibrinogen, which are discussed in the previous article as plasma
fibrinolytic activity , coincided with the peak frequency of MIs (Fournier et al, 2015). However, overall neither paper makes an explicit case for
why there is a desynchronization of triggers during the evening

23. Comparing Frankenstein And The Fairie Queene
Studying literature is in great part about analyzing the work. Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley gives the power of literacy to the monster in her novel
Frankenstein to humanize him as well as to equip him with a moral compass which would have been difficult for him to pick up on otherwise. The
treasure of literature for Frankenstein s monster includes John Milton s Paradise Lost to bring into question the role of the creator and creation as
seen in God and man and Frankenstein and his seemingly horrific figure, while the use of Edmund Spenser s The Fairie Queene could have been
used to underline the difference between right and wrong.
As a creation made of the parts of man in his image, Frankenstein s monster is an imperfect Adam. Shelley does not dwell on the fall of man, so
much as she uses it to question the monster s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Book 3 of the epic, Milton highlights that God created Adam as, sufficient to have stood, but free to fall (Norton 1989). God places the blame on
Adam for the punishment of man. The monster reading this literally, without analysis and who was also made in his creator s image then has no
choice but to assume that he is also being punished.
Shelley s humanization of the monster lies in his imperfection and makes the reader question just why he has been cast aside by humanity. If the
reader accepts the fall of man as punishment, for Adam and Eve s mistake they can see that the monster s creation itself is not for him to be
punished, but for Frankenstein. The monster s understanding of his place because of his outward appearance is apparent after he begins to compare
himself to Adam who was created from the hands of God as a perfect

A country s tax code is the government document which details the rules and methods by which citizens of a state must give a portion of their

27. Lake Overflow Hypothesis
John Strong Newberry first introduced the idea of Lake Overflow in 1861 after discovering that the Bidahochi Formation, an old lake basin, at
times was dry and at other times held freshwater. This led to Newberry to propose the first hypothesis. Essentially Newberry came to the
conclusion that a lake ponded behind a structure and eventually over spilled on a low spot of that structure incising the Grand Canyon (Intro Part
1). Although Newberry didn t provide much evidence to support his claim, a man named Eliot Blackwelder revisited this claim in 1934 and
provided a much needed piece of evidence. Blackwelder discovered the Muddy Creek Formation, a deposit of local fluvial deposits that drained

Adenomyosis
Definition
Adenomyosis or uterine endometriosis is essentially a benign disease which is constricted to the uterine muscle. In this condition, the endometrial
cells lining the uterus migrate to the back wall or posterior side of the uterus. This leads to the thickening of uterine walls, which in turn, may cause
prolonged or heavier menstrual bleeding along with severe abdominal pain during the intercourse or menstrual cycle.
Adenomyosis is a common medical condition among women in their 40 s. The disease is often concomitant with the hormone imbalances, such as

According to specialists, women diagnosed with mild forms of Adenomyosis may not need any medical treatment. However, in case the symptoms

Anti Inflammatory Medications: The medications like ibuprofen are often prescribed by a doctor to decrease blood flow at the time of monthly
menstrual cycle. This relieves the patient from severe cramps.
Hormonal Treatments: Such treatments may include GnRH analogs, progestin contraceptives, and oral contraceptives to control the increased
levels of estrogen amongst patients.
Endometrial Ablation: The treatment includes advanced techniques to destroy or remove the excess endometrium cells from the uteral lining.
However, this technique may not work for every patient as adenomyosis deeply invades the uterus muscle.
Uterine Artery Embolization: It prevents the supply of blood from specific arteries to the distressed area. As a result, the adenomyosis contracts.

31. Figural Statues In Ancient Rome
Rome was a powerful empire that took substantial pleasure in creating lifelike figural statues that they learned from Greek sculptures. However,
their unique eyes caught beauty in the imperfection of the human form instead of washing them over with idealism. There are many surviving
statues that show just how realism played an important role for Roman artist. Contrary to the Greeks, during the republic and imperial eras, Rome
strived to perfect realism, which one sees with their figural busts and full standing sculptures.
Firstly, the strive to capture literal details can be seen with the way Romans created their busts for both men and woman. A bust is a sculpture of

Romans are known for their outstanding lifelike full figure statues that replicate the person flawlessly. While they created figural sculptors of their
emperors to celebrate their victories, they still focused on actual details rather than erasing their imperfections. The bronze statue of Marcus
Aurelius riding horseback, even weathered as it is, one can see creases carved into both man and horse. As well as, both look like they were
captured in a moment of action, which is depicted with the horses raised hoof and slightly turned head. Another example of this capturing of
realism is of a Roman aristocrat holding the busts of his ancestors. Not only does this show how this was similar to today s photographs and how
important having a bust of a loved one was to the ancient Romans, but the sculpture itself captures an older gentleman. He was carved to represent
who he was at that moment with balding head and wrinkles. Keeping the sculptures as real looking as possible was a way of keeping a record of
reality and it proved to be extremely important to them

Another charge made against Socrates was corrupting the young, which Meletus claims he was guilty of. He says I am guilt of corrupting the
young, but I say that Meletus is guilty of dealing frivolously with serious matters, of irresponsibly bringing people into court. (Cooper 28) Meletus

Negligence cases and their analyses have dominated our judicial system from its very inception. This can be attributed to the human need to find
fault and administer blame for wrong doings and the mere fact that committing negligence is so simple one may not even realize that it is being
committed until one is served with court documents. For example, pretend your home has a very steep step leading to the front door. You are aware
of this after all, you live there but you want to ensure the safety of all visitors to your home. Suppose each day you place a sign by the driveway

On June 20, 1943, Anna C was chartered from its owner, Conners Marine Company, to the Pennsylvania Railroad Company at a stated hire per
diem. On January 4, 1944, around 2:15 PM, a negligent accident occurred which resulted in the sinking of the Anna C and all of her cargo being
destroyed. The cargo aboard the Anna C flour was the property of the United States. At the time of year the accident occurred, daylight hours were
shorter than normal and the weather conditions were not favorable (UNITED STATES et al. v. CARROLL TOWING CO., Inc., et al., 1947).
The negligence of the accident comes from a few different sources. Since the harbor conditions were uneasy and busy, the owner of the barge
should have had a captain on board at the very least during daylight hours. The night before, the bargee left the Anna C at 5 PM and was still not
present at the time of the sinking at 2:15 PM the following day. During this 21 hour gap, no bargee was on board when he should have been.
Another negligent act was that the captain of the tug Carroll instructed the deckhand and harbormaster to inspect the lines on the tiers holding the
barges to the Public Pier and Pier 52, including the Anna C. Since the harbormaster was employed by Grace Line, some fault lies with that
company as well. Grace Line s failure to add

Mid Term #2 Prompt 1
The process of making and changing laws varies throughout regions, cultures and religions. This trend applies to all religions, no matter how
similar they may appear. Take for example, Catholicism and Judaism; religions that share common traits in beliefs, customs and law. These
similarities may lead people to believe their legal process of legal change is also cognate, but that is not the case. Although their process of legal
change may appear as similar, the key differences are highlighted through the legislators and the necessity of deriving law from an authoritative
text. The factors that affect these differences relate to the structure of the organization, the governing body, and the purpose behind the creation of
religious law in each system. Judaism s and Catholicism s legal process are alike in many different ways. For example, although rabbinic responsa
and papal decretals seem completely different in definition, they share common characteristics. Responsa is defined as the answers to questions
submitted by someone having communal authority to someone having greater communal authority ( Law and religion in Judaism , 46) The
community asks questions regarding law, and the rabbis, an authoritative source, reply with a binding answer. On the other hand, papal decretals
are laws and rules issued by the pope. The denotation of these processes sound completely different, but their similarity lies in the nature of papal
decretals. The majority of
