Fanzine evaluation

The first thing that I did during production was to open up the InDesign template that I downloaded, before starting production to
prepare myself. I already initially knew what colour scheme I wanted to use which was black, white, and red. Therefore, I decided to
change the pages background colour to black. I did this by drawing out a rectangle using the rectangle tool. I dragged and drew the
rectangle to be the same size of the page, layering it over the top of the page. I then changed the colour of the rectangle to black, by
locating the small little box at the top of InDesign, and clicking on it. Once clicking on it a little dropdown menu appeared with
colours to choose from, once I located the colour black, I selected it and it changed the colour of the rectangle to black from white. I
then wanted this on every page but the cover and back cover. So I decided to ‘copy and paste’ the rectangle, to the amount of how
many I needed, which was ten. Once I had done this for every page but the cover and back cover, I moved onto Adobe Photoshop to
create my cover and back cover. I decided to make the cover first, as this is the most important part of my fanzine. I wanted the cover
to look like a retro, horror movie poster. So I decided to go onto YouTube and try to find a tutorial on how to achieve this effect. I had
experimented with this before production, but I didn’t get the look that I really wanted to get. Once I found a tutorial on creating
something that I wanted to use, I watched the tutorial following it step by step.
The first step was to download the file that was required to follow the tutorial and have it look like the tutorial shows. Once I
downloaded the file through the link in the description, I opened it up. Once the document was opened and I followed the first step,
which was to click on the background layer picture icon in the layers tab. Once I clicked on it, I went over to the bottom of Photoshop
under the layers tab. I then clicked on the adjustment layer icon and this brought up a small tab full of options. The option that I
needed to click on was the ‘colour lookup’ option. Once clicking on this it created a new layer above the background layer. I then
clicked on the Load 3D LUT which brought up a dropdown menu. This is located above the layers tab and below the top bar where all
of the effects are located. Once the dropdown layer appeared, I chose the NightFromDay.CUBE option which was the fourth one from
the bottom upwards. This made the background image a lot darker, but I needed to change the opacity to a more faded option. So I
changed the opacity to 80%, I did this by simply clicking on the opacity number which highlighted it, and then changed it. The next
step was to once again click on the adjustment layer icon and this time click on ‘black & white’, this created a new layer that was in
control of the cover being black and white. The next step was to adjust the colour even more. I did this by clicking ctrl and L, which
brought up the levels window. From there I needed to change the bottom right number to 113 and then click ok. The next step was
to type and create the text. So I opened the horizontal text tool and chose the font that I wanted to use which in this case was the
’Green Fuz’ front which I downloaded from DaFont.com and is the same font as the one in the video. The horizontal type tool is the
tool which is located at the left side of the Photoshop document along with the other tools. It is far down and its symbol is the letter
T, for text. I simply clicked on it once and this made it active for use. The way I changed the font was by clicking on the standard font
that it was already and changing it to the one that I wanted, which was the Green Fuz font.

Next I selected the center allignment option, which is the center most allignment option. Once doing this I clicked on the
colour box beside the allignment options. This opened up a colour picker window. From there I changed the brightness to
50%, and clicked ‘ok’ to return back to the document saving the changes that I made. Next I saved the file just in case there
was a power cut or anything happens whilst I am creating the cover. Once it had saved I typed out my text, ‘Horror
Grimoire’. I then wanted certain letters to be bigger than others espicially the beginning letters of the words. So I
highlighted the two letters and increased their size slighlty bigger than the rest of the text, which made them letters stand
out a bit more. Next I wanted to hift characters and the words more togther. I did this by highlighting the title and going
over to the top bar and hovering over the window bar which brought up a small dropdown menu. I then clicked on
character, and started messing about with a few of the pannels, seeing what they do. At this point I was still following the
tutorial but I had stopped it whilst I mess about with it for a bit. Next I wanted to slide the bottom word ‘Grimoire’ further
up, closer to the word ‘Horror’. I did this by clicking on the leading symbol and sliding it right, which brought it upwards. I
did this until the words were close together and to my liking. I then wanted to reprosition my tool, I simply did this by
clicking on the move tool which is the first tool at the top of the tool bar on the left side of Adobe Photoshop. Once moving
the text around I highlighted my text and clicked on the ‘create warped text’ which is at the top of the Photoshop document
and its symbol is a curved line with the letter T on top in an itallic effect. This brought up a window called warp text. From
here I selected the style rise and horizontal, and changed the bend to 10%. Next I wanted to center my text on my
document. So I clicked on the move tool and pressed ctrl and A to select the docuemnt. From here I went on over to the top
of the photoshop document and clicked on both the line horizontal center icon and the allign vertical ceneter icon. I then
deselected it by clicking ctrl or cmd D. I can’t remember which one that I clicked on. Then I clicked the ‘fx’ icon at the
bottom right of photoshop and clicked gradient overlay. From here I made the angle 90 degrees, and then clicked on the
gradient bar. I then clicked on the lower right stop of the colour bar, which is the bottom right one. Next I typed in 80%, this
shifted the colour white down to the bottom of the cover giving it that gradient effect. Next I clicked on the bottom left stop
and clicked on the colour box. Next I changed the brightness to 50% and 0% for saturation and hue. Then I clicked ok twice
on each of the windows until I got back to layer style window. When I had this opened I selected the ‘Bevel & Emboss’ and
selected the style as inner bevel, the technique as chisel hard, the direction as up, and the size as 5 pixles. Next I made the
highlight opacity to 100% and the shadow opacity to 0%. Then I clicked on contour below bevel and emboss, then clicked
ok. I then clicked on the layers pannel dropdown symbol at the furthermost right hand side on the layers pannel and clicked
on ’convert to smart object’ making sure that I had the text layer selected. This allows me to add filters to it and it allows me
to change the text without changing all of the effects. Next I wanted to stretch the text out so I clicked CMD and T, this
allows me to stretch out the text and resize it. Next I went on over to the side of the shape and began to stretch it out whilst
holding down shift and option. Once I stretched it out, I pressed enter which transformed it.

The next step was to make three copies of my title by selecting the title layer and clicking Ctrl and J, three times. I then
renamed the top copy original, the copy below that motion blur and the copy after that radial blur short. I then
renamed the last copy radial blur long, I did this by double-clicking on the lettering in the layer. This highlights the text
and I am then able to rename the layer. I then went over to filter, blur, radial blur, and selected it. When the tab opened,
I changed the blur method to zoom and the quality to best, then clicked ok. I then decreased the blurs opacity to 50%. I
did this whilst having the radial blur long layer selected. I then made the radial short layer active and then went to filter,
blur, and radial blur once again. But, this time I made the amount 25 instead of it being the default at 100. I then
changed the blend mode to soft light. I did this by locating the little dropdown menu underneath the layers tab. I then
made motion blur active and went to filter, blur, and motion blur. I then made the angle a similar line to my text wich
was around 13, and changed the distance to 10. I then clicked on the original layer and made a new layer above that.
Next I clicked option, ALT and Delete to fill the empty layer with the colour chosen which was black. I then went on over
to filter, render, and clouds. This made the layer completley filled with clouds. I then gave it an overlay effect by
choosing overlay in the little dropdown menu near the layers tab. I then clicked CMD and T, to transform the clouds
layer. I then changed the width to 200 instead of 100 and hit enter to make the change. I then made the original layer
active and then clicked the layer mask icon to make a layer mask next to it. The next step was for me to select the brush
tool and change the hardness to 0 and the size to a relatively large size which was 300. I also made the opacity to 80%
and then clicked on F5 on my keyboard to open up the brush pannel. I did this to make sure that nothing was checked
but smoothing. I then drew a relatively straight line below the word ‘Grimoire’. After doing this I wanted to duplicate
this over to another layer. I did this by selecting the layer and holding alt and dragging it down to the layer. I then made
the film scratches layers visible, by ticking the box beside both of them. I then scrolled down until I found the original
layer, once finding it I clicked on the thumbnail of it. Then I went to the radial blur layer and clicked on that, this
highlighted all of the layers in between both of the layers selected. I then clicked CMD and G, this put them all into a
group. I then renamed the group to text. Once I had done that, I opened the folder and clicked on the thumbnail of one
of the layers inside of the group that I had made. I then resized the text and held down shift and alt whilst making the
title smaller, to fit inside of the page. Next I clicked the small ‘x’ to close that tab and when the message appeared
asking me if I wanted to save the changes, I clicked yes to save the changes. Once doing this I wanted to add something
else that the tutorial did not add. I wanted to add some sort of creature to further emphasise that this is a horror story
fanzine. I decided to use an image of a werewolf. However, I wanted to edit the werewolf to make it fit in with
everything on the cover. So I copy and pasted it onto the Photoshop file and began to make it fit in with the rest of the
cover.

First step was to change the colour to make it black and white, like the rest
of the cover. The first step I took to make this happen was going to image
then adjustments and then black and white. This brought up a mini tab that
allowed me to slide certain colours to make certain parts of the image
darker or lighter. It was easy this way since I had control over whether I
wanted certain parts of the image lighter or darker. Once getting the image
how I wanted it. I clicked ‘ok’ which transformed the changes I made to
actually be on the page. Once doing this I felt like it needed some sort of
outline to make it stand out more. So I double-clicked on the werewolf
layer, this brings up a list of effects that you can select for the layer you
have clicked on. I didn’t know what effect I wanted to use, so I
experimented with most of them, until I found the one that I liked which
was the ‘Bevel & Emboss’. Once clicking on it to select it, I started
experimenting with the Bevel & Emboss effect tab until I edited it to the
way I wanted it. Once doing that I selected ok which closed the mini tab
and saved the effects to the layer. So far I was very happy with what I had
created. Initially when I started the project and came up with the idea of
creating a horror fanzine, I wanted to make the cover look like a retro,
horror, movie poster. From watching the tutorial and using what skills I have
learnt I had managed to create one. Next I needed to create a back cover, I
wanted to create something initially as unique and interesting as the cover.
I wanted to experiment with a design that I hadn't done before. I had
already done experiments before starting production, and I found them to
be good. However, I didn’t feel like they belong on the back cover, I felt like
they were more front cover material. Also, they were basically retro, horror,
movie poster designs like the cover I had made but colourful, and not as
good in my opinion. So I decided to experiment. One of the experiments
that I started creating, I ended up liking so I decided to work with it more to
make it look good, and hopefully use it, if it looks good in the end.

I first started by gathering a collection of images varied from one another to do with horror, This varied from a drawing of a
demon to a picture of a werewolf. Once I gathered at least five or six images. I began with an idea I came up with when I
was looking at horror images for the fanzine. This was to create a collage of images that overlap slightly mainly at the edges.
Then make the image colourized through a technique on Photoshop called hue/saturation which you can click on an option
to colourize an image once you have selected hue/saturation from the dropdown. The first step that I took was to choose a
location on the page for the images. After moving the images around a few times I decided where I wanted them. I placed
them out in a sort of organized collage, not overlapping the images very much, just overlapping the edges slightly. Once
doing this, I was happy with the layout as it wasn’t over cramped with images neither were the images similar to one
another. Next I wanted to add a thick, white outline going around the edges of each image, to split them up and make it
look better when I colourize each of them with different colours. I created the white outline around the images by simply
going over to the rectangle tool and selecting it. From there I stretched the rectangle to a thick line, the line was already
white for me as the colour that was selected was white. Next I lined it up against the edge of the first image. I made sure it
was perfectly lined up and then duplicated that layer to outline another image. I did this for each image until I was finished
outlining the images. The next step I needed to take was to colourize the images, the idea was to make each of the images
different colours and to be bright. I did this by going to image then adjustments then hue/saturation. This opens up a mini
tab and at the bottom right of the mini tab there is an option to colourize the image. I had to do this for each image as it
only does this to the layer that you have selected in the layer tab. Once clicking on the little box that says colourize next to
it, I changed the colour of the image. I did this for each of the images. On the back cover, I made sure that the colours that I
selected were all different colours from one another. I did this for each of the six images. Once I did this I was initially
finished but just before starting another page I went back to add some text to the back cover. I decided to add three words
diagonal from each other on different images. I wanted these words to say what the creature was called. I also downloaded
a font from dafont.com, called ‘Mars Attacks’. I added text by selecting the text tool and then dragging a text box to the size
I wanted it, I then typed in the name of the creature, and pressed enter. I then needed to change the colour, font size, and
font. I first highlighted the word, having the text tool selected. Once highlighted I then went over to the top and clicked the
little arrow next to the font bar which allowed me to find the font I wanted to use. In this case I used ‘Mars Attacks’ as that
was the font I downloaded especially for this purpose. Once selecting a font the text was still highlighted so I went over to
the colour box, clicking on it and changing it from black to white. I then changed the little text number by clicking on it and
deleting the number, then changing it to a good size. I chose 48 for the text but for the first letter 72 as I wanted It too stand
out as it’s a capital letter. I did this two more times, then dragging the text with the select tool to the place I wanted them.
I am very happy with the way that the back cover turned out, it is unique in terms of fanzines. It wasn’t originally what I was
going to do, but when I did do it, it turned out very well. If I were to improve I would probably add more images, making the
collage bigger.

Next was to open up Adobe InDesign CC 2017. I then opened the Fanzine template that was given to us, and moved
over the cover and back cover, over to InDesign from Photoshop. I did this by taking a screenshot of both the cover and
back cover separately. Then dragging the screenshots over and dropping them into my InDesign document. Next I
needed to resize each of the screenshots to fit the page size. I did this by clicking on the screenshot that I wanted to
resize and then I went over to the corner of the screenshot where I clicked on the little rectangle, this allowed me to
drag it out and resize the screenshot. I then dragged it out to fit the page. I did this for both my cover and back cover
screenshots. After finishing this I decided to move onto the other pages. So far I was happy with the way the cover and
back cover turned out, but they were both quite dark compared to what they looked like on Adobe Photoshop.
However, this was something I could sort out at a later date as I wanted to get all of the pages done, then go and edit
them one by one, if I think they need improving.
After finishing the cover and back cover I moved onto the other pages. The InDesign template that I used had the
pages already laid out for me and numbered which page is which. I started by drawing out a black rectangle using the
rectangle tool, and drew it to the size of the page. This acted as my background for that page. Even though I was just
working on one page at a time, I drew out black rectangles for each page and lined them up. Then when it came to
designing that page I could go straight to adding images an the text. The first page on the InDesign layout, I wanted to
add one of the horror stories that I found. I decided to add the ‘Darkness in the rearview mirror’ story. First I started by
copy and pasting the text onto the page. I did this by pressing cmd and c to copy it and then cmd and v to paste it into
the InDesign document. Once it was pasted into the document, I highlighted the text by dragging my mouse cursor
over the text. I then resized the text to fit it in better, then changed the font. I kept the font at minion pro as I though
that, that looked professional enough. I then changed the size to 12pt, as that font size fit the page well and aloud for
room for a title and pictures. However, I didn’t like the way it looked as it looked as if it was just a full block of text, and
looked boring to read. So I decided I would split the text up a bit. I then did the same as before and copy and pasted a
section of the story making it its own text, and then stretching it out to fit the page. I split the text up in three different
sections to parts of the text in the same text box to make it easier for me. I then decided I wanted to highlight certain
words or sentences so that the reader would know that this is a important part of the story or an important word. Next
I wanted to add an image that fit the story and the pages colour scheme that I was going with. I chose to highlight
certain words the colour orange, so I was using this colour as the colour scheme for this page. Once I found the image
that I wanted to use I pasted it into Adobe Photoshop. Then went on over to image, adjustments, and hue/saturation.
This brought up a mini tab that allowed me to change the colour of the image. Fitting with the colour scheme I made
the image mostly orange with black outlines around the image and the dark areas to make it stand out on the page.
Next I saved the image and opened it on InDesign. Then resized and moved it to the right side of the text. Next I
needed to add the title of the story. I decided that I was going to make it on Photoshop.

I first started by writing the title out, and then highlighting the text and going over to the top of the document. Where I
can choose what I font I wanted to use. Before I started I downloaded a bunch of fonts from DaFont.com and already had
them downloaded, ready to use. I downloaded the fonts by going onto DaFont.com and then finding a font that I wanted
to use. I then clicked on it and it gave me an option to download so I clicked on download. This began downloading the
font to my downloads. Once it downloaded, I went into my documents and found the download, then double-clicking on
it. This brought up a few options. The one that I wanted to click on was the .tff version. Once clicking on it, it brought up
a mini tab where it said download. Once clicking on download, it began downloading the font to all documents on the
computer that allowed you to change font styles. When it came to choosing font styles that I wanted to use I found it
very easy as there was a whole section for distorted fonts. In terms of the fonts that I chose, I am very happy with them.
When I was looking through fonts, I made sure that the ones that I picked were linked in with the horror theme like a
blood dripping font. When it came to creating the other pages, it was the same as creating the first one. The only aspect
of the fanzine that a was different was creating some sort of graphical strip at the bottom of two of the pages. I decided
to make them on Adobe Photoshop, as it would be easier for me to create and paste them into InDesign. I started by
drawing a rectangle out in red. Then finding a silhouette image that I wanted to use, and pasting it into Photoshop. Once
I pasted it, I lined it up and resized it to fit in the little strip that I made. Once doing this I needed to merge them to
become one layer to make it easier for when I paste it into InDesign. How I did this was I went over to the top layer and
pressed ctrl and left-clicked a single time. This brought up a list of options. I chose the merge down one, this then
merged that layer with the other one, making the strip one layer. I then saved it and pasted it into my InDesign
document. Then I just about finished my fanzine however, looking back through it there were things that I didn't like no
more, and I also wanted to add a few more things to some of the pages. I decided to add an orange coloured strip at the
bottom of the first page that I designed. This was fairly easy to do as all I needed to do was draw out a rectangle and
choose the colour afterwards.

Overall I am very happy with the way my fanzine has turned out. In some places I did expect my fanzint to look better
espicially after printing it, as on screen the colours stood out as they were very vivid and bright. But when I printed it
they were duller than expected. I was quite dissapointed with the way teh colours turned out. However, I tried to
work around this by going onto InDesign and making the colours more saturated on screen so that when I print
another copy out, the colours will be brighter and look better. When I printed the second and final copy the
brightness of the colours were better but they were still not as a imagned them to be in the beginning. I was most
disspointed with how the cover turned out as that was my favourite piece of the fanzine, but because of the style I
went with there wasn’t really a way I could change the brightness without it looking different. I think that I did well at
showing that it is a horror fanzine using colours that are typically assocated with the horror franchise such as reds,
blacks, and whites. I also used orange, and a range of colours for the back cover. However, the way that I used the
colours still made people feel as if it was to do with horror. When I initially began designing my fanzine I thought that I
would be using photographs as well. But the subject that I had chosen to create my fanzine on made that hard. It
would have been possible, however I decided to go with a artsy look to the images, fitting with the retro, horror,
movie poster look like I did with my cover. Therefore, when I found images that I wanted to use, I edited them as
much as I could to make them fit in with my style that I was going with. I was happy with the fonts that I found and
chose. But, looking back at them I would have liked to go with a few more mainly for the actual stories and not just
the stories. I think that, that would have made each page more unique. It would have also added more style. I do
think that my fanzine does a good job at sticking to the horror theme, as every page including the cover and back
cover has something associated with the horror genre whether thats the coloyr scheme, images, or font type.
When creating the fanzine I was going for lots of stories from other people’s perspectives like that person is telling
you the story, and I think that I did a good job at that. Most of my fanzine’s content is from other people telling you
their perspective of the story or in the interview case what they think of horror stories and creepy pastas. The only
writing style that is different is the two pages were I have wrote creatures bios explaining about them.

Comparing Fanzines
Both my fanzine and Flip Side’s fanzine is black and
white. Flip Side’s fanzine is most likely this colour
because of the price of colour printing at the time
it was made. Whereas mine is to stick with the
horror theme.
My fanzine has more of a comic book look to it. Whereas the
Flip Side fanzine is more like a magazine and fanzine with the
photograph as the main image.
The Flip Side fanzine is more faded, probably because
of the age of the fanzine whereas my cover looks more
digitalised than handmade like the Flip Side fanzine.
This may just be because of the faded colours though.

Comparing Fanzines
Both covers don’t have lots of information on them,
they are very minimal in terms of not having lots on
the cover advertising what's inside the fanzine like
most magazines and some fanzines have.
My fanzine covers horror stories whereas Flip Side’s fanzine
covers punk rock. I think from looking at both covers you can
guess what the fanzine covers. Both the titles, and images on
both fanzines give this away.
Flip Side’s fanzine looks a lot more dated than mine, as the
colours are very faded and it doesn’t look very modern the
way they have laid it out, and the fonts that they have used.
There fanzine also looks more handmade than computer
mad like I stated before, because of the way everything is
laid out.

Comparing Fanzines
My fanzine is a lot more colourful than the ‘Stone Roses’ magazine. My fanzine page looks more
like a magazine page. Whereas The Stone Roses fanzine looks very dated becuase of the black
and white colours used as well as the slight fade to the page. Like with the Flip Side fanzine cover,
the reason they didn’t use colour is most likely becuase of the cost of it when the fanzine was
produced.

Comparing Fanzines
Their text is a lot harder to read than my text. But, the actual content of their text is very informational. Where so is some of
mine on other pages. Also their text is very close together along with their images being close to the text. It looks very
squashed and unprofessional. Whereas mine looks a lot more professional because of how spaced out it is.

Comparing Fanzines
Their text is very hard to read this could be because the fanzine is quite old and
the fanzine pages have faded slightly making it harder to read. Also their image
and text is slanted it looks sort of like this is a photocopied version of the page
both because its slanted and the colour.

Throughout the project I have learnt many new things, on both Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign. I have leant
how to convert an image into a cartoon through adding an effect to the image you want to use and then you can
choose whether you want it to look more cartoon like or realistic. I think that this will be very useful for future projects,
as I have always wanted to create something like this but didn’t know how to. I also have learnt how to use InDesign,
as before in previous projects I didn’t really know how to use it. I found it difficult to use whereas now I can use most
of the tools. This can be very helpful in the future as I will most likely use Adobe InDesign again. I have also learnt how
to transform an image into a retro, horror movie poster look. I may use this for other projects but even if I don’t it has
taught me other effects that I could easily use in other projects. I think that throughout this project I have learnt a lot,
and I have pushed myself in terms of what to do as I could have easily done something I was interested in. However, I
decided to go with something that I don’t really know lots about and that I thought would be unique. If I could learn
anything else that would help me for future projects it would be to learn how to have bright colours when you print
your work, as on screen the colours in my fanzine were the way that I wanted them. But when I printed the fanzine the
colours were quite dark and duller compared to my fanzine on the computer. I think that the brightness of the
computer effected this as well as the light in the room when I created it. I were to do anything different I would
probably end up brightening the colours and images so that when I print my fanzine, it would look more visually
pleasing to the eye because of the bright colours that I have used. I think that the project went well for me as I have
ended up with a product that I am proud of. I think that everything in this project that I have learnt can be used in the
future. I also have learnt what a fanzine is and what they are about as before starting the project I didn’t even know
what a fanzine was. I think that I could apply my knowledge on fanzines to other future projects as I could create
something like this again. I have definitely learned a lot more about Photoshop’s effects, and will be using the effects
that I have learned for future projects.

1. How could I further improve my fanzine?
2. I think the images could be improved a little more on the pages with the stories. On the first page, the text on
the blue image is not very visible, you should change the colour or move it to the other side where it’s darker.
On the issue page, the bottom of the page is very plain and blank. There is a big gap on the ‘spiders in the
hairdo’ page which you could probably move the text up or make the red text in the middle bigger.
3. What feature of my fanzine do you like the most and why?
4. I really like the stories, they keep you intrigued and curious. Also, the titles for each story are amazing! They
really link in with the text. The text is good, I like it how you’ve used colours for the narration. Maybe carry on
with the stripe at the bottom of the pages like on the first story. I like it how you’ve done an explanation for
some of the creatures which helps the person reading it in case they don’t know beforehand.
5. What page could and improve the most and why?
I don’t think there is a page to improve as such, it’s a really good fanzine. It keeps you wanting more. Loads of
images which are good and match with the text.

2. I really like the highlighted text as it shows the reader exactly what the text is about and they also work as
creepy extracts. I think that they should be used more frequently and for smaller amounts of text so that they
stand out more. They are a really good feature and help to increase the tone of the text but they don’t stand out
enough on some of the pages.
4. I like the creepypasta pages the most, specifically the Darkness in the Rearview Mirror page. It is laid out really
well with the image next to the first paragraph of text. I think this entices the reader to read on as it instantly
provides you with a visual element and an enticing first sentence.
I think that the interview could have used more images across the two pages. As every other page has a lot of visuals
to look at it makes it look a bit out of place to have a wall of text. It is laid out really well and the second page
features images but the first is slightly daunting to look at.

2. I feel you may be able to improve slightly if you maybe proof read the stories. They seem to be very well done,
but to me, seem questioning at some points as to the correct grammar. I may also try to keep the titles more
uniform, as this is simply a very small idea, to keep it the same font instead of the seemingly random font
changes between them.
4. I quite like the aspect of highlighting the “scariest” line in each section, as it helps to point out key features,
particularly in the creature fact file pages. I quite like the images in the fact file pages, possibly more than on the
other pages, as it gives the read some intrigue and something more than just a small description, but also a face
to put to it.
If I was going to, I would change the “Darkness In the Rearview Mirror’s” first page as it seems to be a slight different
colour scheme to the rest of the pages present, being an orange instead of the red present in all the others.

What do you agree with from your peer feedback?
I agree on the point that the interview pages could have used more images to split the text up a bit as it is a big
block of text to look. If I were to edit it I would probably add some sort of red, colour strip to split the text up
more. However with the interview I did want to set it out neatly and easy to read. I also agree that the
“Darkness in the rearview mirror” page has a different colour scheme and would be better off sticking with the
red and black colour scheme. I also agree with the point that highlighting certain sections of the stories help
show the reader the key parts of the story. The reason I decided to highlight key words and sentences from the
stories was to do exactly that. So I am glad that people have picked up on this.
What do you disagree with from your peer feedback?
I don’t agree that I should have used the highlighted text more frequently as then it would be overused, and
also the stories are short so they don’t have lots of scary extracts in them, that I could use. If I were to do this I
think that it would get rid of the aspect of showing the reader key parts of the story and the scariest parts. It
would destroy the build up to the scary ending in some of the stories cases.

What changes would you make to your product based upon your peer feedback and why?
I would change the interview page slightly by giving the reader a break in between reading by adding images
and or lined dividers. This would help split up the text. After reading my feedback on it, and looking back at
that page I think that the text does look like a lot. It looks quite daunting to look at it as you know that there is
a lot to read as it’s a big chunk of text.
