2. Task 2: Idea Development and Planning U9 2.1
You could create a mood board of images related to your product. They could be inspirational or visually interesting.
Analyse what you have gathered.
Decide on content and think about how you will structure your piece – consider the conventions of your chosen
style/genre, think about the best methods to appeal to your audience.
Finally work out a production schedule for the project. Once you have a final proposal, begin to plan how you intend to
realise your project and what you will need to create/collect.
Planning will vary depending on if you are doing a web series, podcast or a fanzine.
Web-series: A script, storyboard, organisational docs and clearance forms for your contributors/sources.
Fanzine: Content outline, visual style, pagination, organisational documents.
Podcast: Script, organisational docs, clearance forms for your contributors/sources.
4. Content:
“MMA will not be legal in NYC”
Forrest Griffin vs Stephan Bonnar is the fight
that saved the UFC.
“Women will not fight in the UFC.”
The biggest MMA
promotion in the world.
1997- 2007
Royce Gracie wins UFC1 to show that
martial arts are real and you don’t just
need muscles to win.
5. Planning:
For my project I will have to write a script including all the most important historical events in MMA history in
the Western world. I will have done all my research on this topic to make sure that what I say is is factual and
correct.
I will also have to find footage and pictures of these historical events to keep the audience’s attention, this will
be easier than writing the script.
After completing these tasks I will then edit both visual and audio together and make sure they work well
together and fit.
6. Production Schedule:
For the first week of production, I will work on my script and do roughly 3 drafts, asking tutor and peers if
they spot anything wrong with it and ask what I can add to make better.
2nd week will be me recording me reading the script to a standard that I find good, I will then find all the
footage and pictures that I need for this project.
3rd week will be filled of me editing audio and visual segments and putting them together.
4th week will be me asking peers and tutor again to see if they like the final product and if they have anything
else they would like to see in the final project, I will try and add them to the project before handing it in for
marking.
